In 2009, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe began its ascent towards global box office hegeomony, another film series based on Marvel Comics grappled with its future. The big screen adaptation of X-Men had previously demonstrated the commercial viability of superhero films in the 21st century. However, just six years later, X-Men: The Last Stand emerged as a relative disappointment, prompting 20th Century Fox to reconsider its strategy. Rather than risk another lacklustre sequel, the studio opted to pivot away from the main saga and instead explore a series of spin-offs and standalone films focused on the origins of individual X-Men characters. Wolverine, being the most beloved among fans, was an obvious choice to lead this new venture. Thus, X-Men Origins: Wolverine was born. Unfortunately, this film was met with widespread rejection from fans and critics alike, earning a reputation as one of the least popular entries in the Marvel film canon.

The narrative of X-Men Origins: Wolverine unfolds as one might expect from its title; it delves into the origins of its titular character. The film opens in 1845 with James Howlett (portrayed by Troye Sivan), a young boy living in what is now Canada. Following a family tragedy that reveals his extraordinary abilities—retractable claws and apparent invulnerability—James embarks on a journey with his half-brother Victor (played by Michael-James Olsen). This journey leads them as adults (played by Hugh Jackman and Liev Schreiber, respectively) through various historical conflicts, including their service in the Civil War and later in Vietnam, where they join Team X, a covert unit of mutants led by Colonel William Stryker (played by Danny Huston). Unlike Victor, who embraces violence, James seeks to distance himself from killing. After a morally troubling mission in Nigeria, he leaves Team X and attempts to live a peaceful life as a logger with his girlfriend Kayla Silverfox (played by Lynn Collins). Tragedy strikes when Victor allegedly kills Kayla, prompting James to accept Stryker's offer to enhance his abilities with adamantium—a virtually indestructible metal—transforming him into Wolverine. However, this procedure is part of Stryker's sinister plan to create a super-mutant army. Despite being labelled a box office success by conventional standards, X-Men Origins: Wolverine fell short of 20th Century Fox's expectations. A significant factor contributing to its underwhelming performance was the highly publicised leak of the film’s workprint weeks prior to its official release. Critics largely panned the film, while fans expressed outrage over continuity issues and the mishandling of beloved characters from the X-Men universe—most notably Wade Wilson, also known as Deadpool, portrayed by Ryan Reynolds. The character's portrayal was particularly contentious due to significant deviations from his comic book origins.

South African director Gavin Hood managed to showcase some impressive visuals within the film's substantial $150 million budget and delivered several thrilling action sequences. However, he struggled to overcome the fundamental issues stemming from the screenplay written by David Benioff and Skip Woods. The script’s shortcomings were exacerbated by the Writers Guild of America strike that coincided with production timelines.

The conceptual problems within X-Men Origins: Wolverine are particularly glaring. Although it begins with promise—highlighted by an engaging opening sequence that features two brothers fighting through four wars—the narrative quickly devolves into a generic tale of X-Men versus an evil government conspiracy intertwined with a revenge subplot that fails to deliver meaningful resolution. The film's trajectory shifts dramatically after the Vietnam War segment ends, losing sight of its initial focus on Wolverine's origins. Another significant flaw lies in the film's tonal inconsistencies. The script oscillates between light-hearted moments and dark themes bordering on tragedy without achieving a cohesive balance. This erratic tonal shift detracts from character development and emotional engagement.

Hugh Jackman delivers yet another commendable performance as Wolverine, showcasing his dedication and talent despite being hampered by limited material. His portrayal remains one of the film’s few redeeming qualities; however, even Jackman's considerable skills cannot compensate for the multitude of flaws present throughout the film.

Interestingly, Jackman himself expressed dissatisfaction with X-Men Origins: Wolverine, contemplating leaving the franchise altogether due to its shortcomings. Meanwhile, 20th Century Fox abandoned plans for further origin stories following this film's reception and instead shifted focus towards prequels beginning with X-Men: First Class in 2011.

Ultimately, Jackman chose to remain with the character and returned for The Wolverine in 2013, followed by Logan in 2017—the latter being heralded as one of the most critically acclaimed Marvel films ever produced.

In a notable turn of events for Deadpool’s character arc, he was "retconned" into [his own standalone film in 2016 featuring Ryan Reynolds reprising his role but presenting a reimagined version that resonated better with audiences. The sequel released in 2018 even included playful jabs at X-Men Origins: Wolverine, acknowledging its less-than-stellar reputation among Marvel fans.

Hello friends, I'm here with another interesting movie titled x-men origins: wolverine and I would like to share with you.

The movie is about, after years of working as a mutant mercenary, Logan lives a quiet life with his girlfriend, Kayla.

However, a figure from his past brutally assassinates Kayla, compelling Logan to seek vengeance.

The movie begins In 1845, James Howlett, a boy living in the Northwest Territories, witnesses his father being killed by groundskeeper Thomas Logan.

Anxiety activates the boy's mutation: Bone claws protrude from his knuckles, and he impales Thomas, who reveals that he is James' biological father before dying.

James flees along with Thomas' other son, Victor Creed, who is James' half-brother and has a sharp claw-nails and healing factor mutation like James.

They spent the next century as soldiers, fighting in the American Civil War both world wars and the Vietnam War in 1973.

In Vietnam, the increasingly violent Victor attempts to rape a Vietnamese woman and kills a senior officer who tries to stop him.

James returns to Victor, and ignorant of his brother's intent, rushes to defend him. The pair is sentenced to execution by firing squad, which they survive.

Major William Stryker offers them membership in Team X, a group of mutants including marksman Agent zero, katana-wielding mercenary wade Wilson, teleporter john wraith, super-strong and invulnerable Fred Dukes and technopath Chris Bradley.

They join the team for a few missions, with James using the alias Logan, but Victor and the group's lack of self-control and empathy causes Logan to leave.

Six years later, Logan works as a logger in Canada, where he lives with his girlfriend, Kayla silver fox.

Stryker and Zero approach Logan, reporting that Wade and Bradley have been killed; someone is targeting the team.

Logan refuses to rejoin Stryker but, after finding Kayla's bloodied body in the woods, realizes that Victor is responsible.

He finds Victor at a bar but loses the subsequent fight.

Stryker explains that Victor has gone rogue and offers Logan a way to become strong enough to get his revenge.

Logan undergoes a painful operation to reinforce his skeleton with adamantium, a virtually indestructible metal.

Stryker orders that Logan's memory be erased, so he can be used as Stryker's personal weapon, but Logan overhears and escapes to a nearby farm where an elderly couple takes him in.

Zero kills the couple the following morning and tries to kill Logan. Logan takes down Zero's helicopter and swears to kill both Stryker and Victor. He then blows up the helicopter, killing Zero.

Logan locates Wraith and Dukes at a boxing gym in Las Vegas.

Dukes, who has ballooned in size due to a guilt-induced eating disorder, explains that Victor still works for Stryker hunting down mutants for Stryker to experiment on at his new laboratory, located at a place called “The Island”.

Dukes also mentions Remy “Gambit” LeBeau, the only one who escaped from the island and therefore knows its location.

Wraith and Logan find LeBeau in New Orleans, then both fight Victor, who kills Wraith and extracts his DNA.

Agreeing to help release mutants that Stryker has captured, Gambit takes Logan to Stryker's facility on Three Mile Island.

Logan learns that Kayla is alive, having been forced by Stryker into surveilling him in exchange for her sister's safety.

However, Stryker refuses to release her sister and denies Victor the adamantium bonding promised for his service, claiming that test results revealed Victor would not survive the operation.

Stryker activates Wade, now known as Weapon XI, a “mutant killer” with the powers of multiple mutants.

Hello, how are you all? I will write about one of my favorite movies in front of you today? I believe those who love action movies must have seen today's movie. Through which we will also see some scenes of the Second World War in 1845 and at the same time we will see the emergence of a race called mutants among the common people on earth.

Humans who are born with superpowers and grow up on Earth with special abilities different from normal humans can be seen in movies as mutants. In the movie together we will see great action, adventure, twists, science fiction, romance and also the expression of great ideas of modern empowerment.

With him in the movie we have a wonderful action hero birth, life battle, growing up and trying to live like a normal human being but due to his elder brother's wrong doings he is forced to make himself as a super hero. In the movie we will also see an interesting scene where the two Bhoi become one and have a wonderful rivalry despite having similar super powers.

Today let us introduce you to an amazing movie from Marble series.

Movie Review:

The movie first sees the manifestation of Victor and Jimmy's superpowers through a family fight. As a result, the two brothers escape from the common people to start a new life and see their participation in world wars and their captivity.

Stryker asks to work on his own Team X team after saving Jimmy and Victor while they are in captivity, and when he sees Jimmy killing people unjustly, he quits Team X and Jimmy starts a normal life with his wife under the new name of Logan.

However, Victor avenges Logan by killing his younger brother Logan's wife, and Stryker makes a failed attempt to make him a military weapon to strengthen him. This makes Logan super powerful and he learns about Stryker's secret plane.

Stryker then orders his Team X to kill Logan. But Logal being too powerful kills the members of Team X and starts searching for Stryker. As Logan begins to search for Stryker and Victor, he learns that Stryker created a powerful weapon by injecting the superpowers of all mutants into the body of a mutant, and when Logan fights him, Logan is unable to stand alone. And that's when Victor can be seen coming to his younger brother's aid and the two of them are able to kill Weapon 11.

Later on, Stryker tries to erase Logan's memory with one of his bullets and at that time Logan's wife sends Stryker to a different direction with her mind control powers and finally Stryker is captured by the military for conducting an illegal mission and our superhero Logan's new way of life.

I found the movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverin” to be excellent and interesting. Great twists, action, romance, adventure was really amazing. Those of you who haven't seen this movie, definitely watch the movie and let us know what you think in the comments.

This movie is a masterpiece.

It shows how many things can be made wrong in a blockbuster. The scenario, the character, the casting, the special effects, the superpower of the heroes, everything looks so strange.

The best part of the movie is for sure the introduction with a summary of Wolverine's life through all the wars since 1845 until the Vitnam's one when his brother as immortal as him started to turn crazy and killed an officer who tried to stop him from raping a civilian. Because Wolvy just tried to defend him they are executed by the American army. Because they are bulletproof they are recruited in a special forced unit and here starts the massacre.

I feel like in a bad movie like Twilight 1 or in a parody. It looks a little like the exaggerated Bollywood movies, but worse, way worse.

They are to unrealistic that made me a little uncomfortable. That's basically the same with almost every aspect of the movie. The special effects are often strange. Wolverine's claws are always on focus and so much sharp that feels weird but in the opposite side we can easily see most of the green screen because they are made pretty strangely and we can see the blurry and glowy borders of the object where the green have been removed.

I really think they have a really good casting but they used it like shit. Not a single character lives enough to know anything about his life. The hobbit from LOTR is kind but dies fast, Will I Am is forgettable, the magician is only here to let the villain escape because of a quiproquo and Ryan Reynolds ah like 3 lines at the beginning and they say "he's dead" before realizing he have been turned into the ugliest Deadpool ever.

Stéréotypes

Imagine few stereotypes of a super hero movie.

You did it ? No. Take your time... It's ok ? This movie has all these stereotypes. All.

His father dies in the begining of the movie ? He screams while watching up in the air

His girlfriend dies ? He screams while watching up in the air.

He explodes something ? He walks in slow motion back to it.

During all the movie, I realized I was able to predict everything.

The movie is a stereotype from the start to the end. And there are only two characters that seem to be """real""" humans during it, Will I am and Kevin Durand who are something else than just "I'm a Bad guy so I have to be bad and kill people just because that's funny" or "I'm Hugh Jackman so I have to use my claws and big veins to kill the bad guy because they are bad and being bad is bad".

Each new character you see, you can guess in the 10 first seconds if he will die or not and almost every time, yes they do.

This movie has the embition of a Power Rangers season finale with the budget and the casting of a 5 star Hollywood Blockbuster.

that's sad because once this is said I can't add anything more, this is the only problem of it. It looks like it have been written by a beginner and nobody gave a fuck and decided to put other beginners to the special effects teams and artistic directing because this is ugly as fuck.
