The character of Reacher arrived on "television" via Prime Video four years ago, and since then, year after year, we have watched him battle an endless array of threats and enemies he inevitably picks up along the way. After all, that is the premise: a loner who seems to find trouble waiting for him wherever he goes. The character Alan Ritchson has crafted is among the most popular and recognizable; in fact, Reacher remains one of today's most-watched series, even though the initial novelty has worn off. Yet, its familiarity doesn't diminish the show's value—quite the opposite. Knowing the character—his demeanor and the way he confronts whatever comes his way—keeps expectations high, because you know exactly what you’re going to get on screen: a virtually invincible man exposing criminal plots and organizations.
Hace 4 años llegó a la "televisión" el personaje de Reacher de la mano de Prime Video y desde entonces, año tras año, lo hemos visto combatir a un sin fin de amenazas y enemigos que simplemente se va ganando en el camino. Porque si, esa es la premisa: un tipo solitario que al sitio que llega pareciera que los problemas lo estuvieran esperando. El personaje que ha forjado Alan Ritchson es uno de los más vistos y conocidos, de hecho Reacher es de las series más vistas hoy en día a pesar de que dejó de ser una novedad. Pero que sea conocido no hace que la serie pierda valor, al contrario, sabiendo como es, su forma de actuar y de hacer frente a todo lo que se viene encima hace que la expectativa siempre sea alta porque sabes lo que vas a recibir en pantalla: un tipo prácticamente invencible desenmascarando planes y organizaciones criminales.
For those unfamiliar with him, Reacher is a former Army major who left the service due to past events and now lives a nomadic lifestyle, moving from city to city off the grid and outside the system. This fourth season is set in Philadelphia. One night, while on the subway, Reacher notices something amiss; a woman appears to be in obvious distress and in need of help. When he offers assistance, he realizes she is gripped by fear and anguish; she then takes her own life right in front of him, but not before handing him a flash drive containing highly sensitive, classified documents. Predictably, this sparks an uproar, and Reacher becomes the prime suspect in the woman's death, quickly turning him into the most wanted man in Philadelphia and the surrounding area.
Reacher, para el que no lo conozca, es un ex mayor del ejercito que por cosas que pasaron dejó de serlo y ahora es un hombre tipo nómada que va de ciudad en ciudad viviendo una vida fuera del radar y del sistema. En esta cuarta temporada nos ubicamos en Filadelfia. Reacher una noche estaba en el metro cuando se percata de que algo va mal, una mujer con una angustia muy evidente parecía necesitar ayuda, al ofrecérsela nos damos cuenta que lo que había era miedo y angustia; la mujer se suicida frente a él no si antes entregarle un pendrive con documentos secretos bastante pesados. Como es de esperarse todo aquello arma un revuelo y Reacher termina siendo el principal sospechoso de la muerte de la mujer por lo que pronto se convierte en el hombre más buscado de Filadelfia y alrededores.
With the famous drive in his possession, a hunt and an investigation begin to understand what is on it and why so many people are suddenly after it. Along the way, he meets various characters—not always under the best circumstances—who eventually become part of his "team." Ultimately, it all boils down to a long-standing international conspiracy involving prominent politicians from the country and the United States, as well as rebel sympathizers. Clearly, the secret or information contained on that USB drive is highly valuable and poses a genuine danger if it falls into the wrong hands. Fundamentally, Reacher's storylines always revolve around uncovering what is being swept under the rug regarding the people who end up pursuing him—usually because he tried to help others. In fact, people often point this out to him, and his response is always: "I can't help it." Each season has its own unique qualities; while they share the same underlying premise, the execution differs. I would say this is one of the best of the four seasons; the second is my favorite because he works with members of his former Army team, but this latest installment is fast-paced and highly entertaining.
Con la famosa memoria en su poder comienza una caza e investigación para entender que hay en dicho pendrive y porque de repente hay tantas personas tras de ella. En el camino conoce a varios personajes, no siempre de la mejor manera, que al final terminarán siendo parte de su "equipo". Al final todo se va a resumir en una conspiración internacional la cual viene de muchos años atrás que involucra a importantes políticos del país, Estados Unidos y simpatizantes de grupos rebeldes. Evidentemente el secreto o información que hay en ese USB puede ser muy valiosa y en las manos equivocadas un verdadero peligro. Basicamente las tramas de Reacher siempre van de descubrir que hay "debajo de la alfombra" con referencia a las personas que lo terminan persiguiendo siempre por tratar de ayudar a los demás. De hecho eso es algo que siempre se lo dicen a lo que responde: "No lo puedo evitar". Cada temporada tiene lo suyo, al final todas son diferentes, el mismo trasfondo pero no la forma. Diría que esta es de las mejores de las cuatro que hay, la segunda es mi favorita porque en ella él trabaja con parte de su ex equipo del ejercito, pero esta última entrega es bastante movida y entretenida.
Action is the backbone of this series; every episode contributes something in this regard. None are devoid of chases, fights, gunfire, explosions, and escapes—because if there is one thing Reacher excels at, it is escaping whenever he gets caught. Added to this is the intrigue of unraveling the central mystery episode by episode; we gradually learn what lies behind it all, piecing together the clues and the drama that unfolds. There is also the political element—though not always present (we saw none of it in the third season), it certainly features here. Secrets and senators rarely make for a happy ending. Ultimately, it is a story of revenge: enemies seeking to settle old scores, and Reacher trying to prevent that vengeance from being carried out. It literally has it all: the FBI, the CIA, the Secret Service, local police, and a looming, ever-present threat.
La acción es la columna vertebral de esta serie, todos los capítulos tienen algo que aportar en este sentido, ninguno queda alejado de las persecuciones, peleas, disparos, explosiones y escapes porque si hay algo en lo que Reacher es bueno es en escapar cada vez que lo atrapan. Pero a esto hay que sumarle la intriga que genera ir desenredando el gran nudo episodio tras episodio, poco a poco vamos sabiendo que hay detrás de todo, las pistas que se van creando y el drama que trae todo esto. Siempre tiene que haber también la parte política, no siempre es así, en la tercera temporada no vimos nada de esto, pero en esta si. Secretos y senadores de la republica son cosas que generalmente no terminan bien. Diría que al final de todo es un tema de venganza, los enemigos lo que buscan es hacer pagar por cosas que pasaron en el pasado, Reacher impedir que esa venganza se lleve a cabo. Literalmente hay de todo acá: FBI, CIA, Servicio Secreto, policía local y una amenaza latente al acecho.
As a character, Reacher is truly unique; beyond being a machine for killing and neutralizing threats, he comes across almost like a robot—sometimes even in a funny way. The bottom line is that he’s a fantastic character, and the role has opened many doors for Alan Ritchson—something already evident, given the buzz around a couple of his recent films. We also see a performance by Agnez Mo, an Indonesian singer who was a brilliant casting choice; I didn't expect that level of agility and action from her. Then there’s Sydelle Noel as Tamara Green—an incredibly tough, by-the-book police officer who joins Reacher on this journey. I absolutely loathed Christopher Marquette’s character; there’s always got to be a useless guy in the group, after all. All in all, it’s a great season packed with action from start to finish; this series is a guaranteed hit—it’s impossible not to enjoy or be entertained by it. And the best part? A fifth season has already been confirmed. If you haven't seen it, I highly recommend it; it’s one of Prime Video’s standout titles. Eight episodes. Here’s the trailer for this latest season.
Como personaje Reacher es muy peculiar, además de la maquina de matar y neutralizar también es un tipo que parece un robot, a veces da hasta risa. La cosa es que es un gran personaje, a Alan Ritchson se le han abierto muchas puertas por esto cosa que ya se nota, hay par de película de él muy actuales y que están sonando. También tenemos la participación de Agnez Mo, una cantante indonesia la cual fue un gran acierto para el elenco, no esperaba su nivel de agilidad y acción y Sydelle Noel como Tamara Green, una policía extremadamente dura y correcta, una de las compañeras de Reacher en este viaje. El personaje de Christopher Marquette lo detesté, nunca puede faltar el inútil del grupo. En fin, una gran temporada llena de acción de principio a fin, esta serie es garantía de éxito, no hay manera de que no guste y no entretenga. Y lo mejor? - la quinta temporada ya está confirmada. Si no la han visto se las recomiendo, es de los grandes títulos que tiene Prime Video. 8 capítulos. Les dejo el tráiler de lo que es esta última temporada.
