Hello, hello, internet people! How are you? Today I'm going to talk to you about a Japanese animation that will probably make your hair stand on end. For those of you who don't know me, I love the horror genre, so finding this gem was great for me. It's a compilation of stories based on urban legends and folklore. The best part is that they're micro-stories that last no more than five minutes, so you could easily watch several episodes in an hour.
Of course, some stories seem unfinished and leave you wanting to see more, but the aim of this series, beyond telling a specific story with a coherent narrative, is simply to generate terror, very similar to the analogue terror that the Japanese, and Asians in general, are so good at when it comes to making horror films and animations. Ahh, and speaking of animation, I love that this anime has a style very similar to kamishibai (which, incidentally, is also used in some scenes in Blue-Eyed Samurai), which consists of telling stories through still images or limited movements.
Initially, we see the narrator telling stories to the audience. Each story has an unsettling aura and a disturbing ending, and since they are not related to each other and do not follow a linear narrative, you can watch any episode at random. One of my favourites is about a man who went on holiday to a remote village, but suddenly wakes up in a hospital where a doctor tells him that he had slipped in the mountains, but that he only needed one more day of rest because he would be discharged the next day. However, three strange patients were looking at him oddly while muttering things, but he managed to hear them say, ‘He can't leave.’ The next day, when the patient was ready to leave, he got into a taxi, but when he looked back, he noticed that the three men were on the roof of the hospital making some strange movements, similar to bows. The man thought that maybe those men were celebrating the fact that he could leave the hospital, but when the taxi driver saw what was happening in the rear-view mirror, he told him with a frightened look that what those men were doing was a ritual called ‘The Cruel Bow’ so that he could not leave that town alive.

I don't usually watch anime series; I much prefer films, as I've told you on other occasions, because they have a much faster start, development and ending in the plot. So I never imagined I would watch Naruto, which is so long and full of tedious filler episodes. However, I agreed to my sister's request and watched all the seasons of this series, including the filler episodes, and although I didn't feel like watching any other endless series, I certainly can't help but praise the good work they did with this series in every way: in terms of animation, combat, plot and, of course, characters. And that's precisely what brings me here today, as I'd like to talk to you about my favourite character and why I like him so much.
Itachi Uchiha is one of the most important members of the Uchiha clan, and paradoxically, it was he who exterminated his entire family, which earned him the condemnation of everyone who considered themselves sensible and empathetic, including his own younger brother, Sasuke, who detested him, and with good reason, right? However, throughout the series, we discover the different layers of this complex and interesting character, allowing us to understand his motives. He had a strong sense of duty and certain codes that led him to act in this way, but this does not mean that it was not painful for him. Sometimes, doing the right thing can be a very difficult decision to make, and this was perfectly reflected in the character's melancholic gaze.
And although he may seem like a dull and rigid character, he actually has more nuances than you might think. I think that's precisely what I like about him, because it's inevitable to associate him with Severus Snape from Harry Potter. Both characters act like villains, earn the contempt of others, and have incredible abilities, but in reality they are antiheroes, people who carry on their shoulders a weight that no one else could bear, an eternal melancholy, a shell of indifference that makes them seem gloomy to outsiders, although with a clear and unquestionable goal. But they are not waiting for others to understand them or approve of their actions, no, because for them the end completely justifies the means
Being such an ambiguous and psychologically complex character, Itachi's story makes us question the meaning of justice, sacrifice, and the price of peace. It is not easy to understand him, much less accept his decisions, but when you get to know him deeply, when you get to the bottom of all the layers that cover him, it is inevitable to feel moved and even guilty for the prejudices against him.
Well, with nothing more to add on the subject, all that remains is for me to ask you what you think about this character. Do you love him or hate him? I would like to know what you think. Thank you very much for reading and commenting. See you next time. Have a great start to the week.
Hello everyone, Otaku friends of The Anime Realm, I hope you are all doing well, today I'm here to talk about a strange anime, many of you liked it, others not so much... and well, it's time for me to give you my opinion on it, today I'll talk about the anime: The Witch and the Beast, or Majo to Yajuu for those who know more, I got into it almost without knowing anything, I just saw some images that looked great, and believe me, it was quite a trip... let's see, imagine: a world that looks like it's straight out of a gothic novel, think of dark alleys, that semi-Victorian vibe, foggy stone streets... it has all that vibe, do you understand?
Very, very atmospheric, but the funny thing is that, although the world looks so old, the story, how the characters speak and everything, feels super current... that contrast, boom!, it works wonders, it draws you in. The plot goes like this and it hooked me right away: we follow Guideau, who seems like a young, half-wild girl, with incredibly intense eyes – seriously, they scream 'beast' – but who hides a HUGE secret, a curse that has her, traveling with her is Ashaf, an elegant, calm magician, always with his cigarette... and who carries a coffin! I mean, it's impossible to be more intriguing. And well, the duo dedicates themselves to hunting witches. It's like Ashaf's job, but Guideau is more like... a whirlwind that goes with him, but the most important thing is that Guideau has a VERY personal anger with one witch in particular, the one who put the curse on him... look, from the first chapter you realize that this isn't messing around.
Forget that it starts slowly, nothing like that! There’s some really powerful action here from almost the very first minute, with beheadings, people losing limbs… it sets a really dark, really raw tone from the very beginning, and it stays that way. To be honest, it did throw me off a bit at first, but in a good way. It was refreshing to see an anime that goes all in with its dark fantasy vibe, without fear of success, and the action scenes, many of which are captivating, especially when Guideau lets loose and unleashes her full power. She’s pure instinct, pure brute force, and that contrasts perfectly with Ashaf, who’s calmer, more into strategy and magic.
Okay, what about the witches? Forget about them being your typical misunderstood or cool ones, nothing to do with it, at least almost never, here the series does get right into how brutal they are, seriously! Their methods are truly scary and they leave chaos everywhere... mind you, they're not your typical filler villains, they have a whole backstory, they drop clues about super-ancient lineages (they're called "Origin Witches") and they even have unique details, like a mark, the 'Ultoma', that appears when they cast really powerful magic... that's when you realize that magic in this world is serious business: it's powerful, dangerous, and ordinary people are terrified of it, and with good reason, because of a really dark past they drag around.
Something I loved was how they mixed genres, obviously, it's fantasy, it has a ton of action, but suddenly, boom! They give you terror and a lot of mystery... there are arcs that really dig in with the terror, I remember one perfectly, I think it was like the third episode, which literally seemed like a mini horror movie... it was about a really murky family drama, connected to a witch who had a hobby... let's say pretty horrible, that involved children... and it was great, the crazy thing is that, in the middle of so much darkness, it touches you on some sensitive nerves that you don't even expect. And then, the subject changes... there are parts that feel like detective stories, with Ashaf and Guideau following the trail of magical serial killers, piecing together clues that may be forbidden grimoires, ancient curses... that kind of thing, and that's great because it keeps everything fresh, it's not just watching blows one after the other, you know?
And the world they built is really incredible. They introduce things like necromancy, and not just like, "Oh, that's bad magic," but they make you think about whether it's right or wrong to use it in this society. They also introduce you to other groups, like the Paladins – who are basically holy knights who fight against magical threats – and that adds more flavor to the power struggles and conflicts. I liked how they tell you things. Sometimes they use a narrator to explain the rules of the world or some concept, and you'd say, "Oh, how lazy," but you know what? It works really well! This way you don't run into those weird scenes where characters explain things they should already know, like Ashaf telling Guideau what a cloud is, imagine... it helps you quickly get into this complex world, to understand who's who: the Holy Church that rules everything, the Paladins who are supposed to be neutral and peacemakers, the Executors who are very dark and just want to erase all the witches, and Ashaf's own group, the Order of Magical Resonance, who seem more interested in controlling and understanding magic, whether good or evil.
You learn how magic works - writing formulas, using runes - it all feels pretty neat... but anyway, let's get back to the main characters because, seriously, they are the heart of all this. Guideau is all badass, driven by pure rage against the one who cursed her, and seems to not give a damn about anyone, she's impulsive, violent, and all she wants is to get back to her original form. And then there's Ashaf, the calm, super serene guy who seems cool, always trying to steer Guideau down the right path, even if sometimes he has to pull the strings a little. He has some rune tattoos on his arm that are, pff!, they add points to his mysterious magician vibe, the chemistry between them is brutal! It's a constant push and pull between instinct and head, fury and calm. Ashaf seems determined to show Guideau that life is more than pure revenge, and watching how their relationship changes, which at first is forced, is something that draws you in.
You really feel how those very different energies sometimes clash, but other times, boom!, they connect perfectly to finish off the monster or magician that stands in front of them. The series is often organized as investigative cases, which last two or three chapters... and that format works wonderfully, because it gives each mini-story a chance to breathe, to develop its own mystery and its characters, before moving on to the next. And they're geniuses at leaving you hooked at the end... almost every episode ends in a way that makes you say "Nooo, I need to see what's next!" Sometimes they even drop the bomb on you halfway through the episode, keeping you glued to the screen, always trying to guess what's going to happen.
Let’s see, something that I found really cool, especially towards the end of the season, is how they handle the “monsters” and the bad guys… at first, they paint the witches as the enemy, the really bad guys, pure terror, but as things progress, especially in the final arc that has to do with a different type of witch and a demonic sword (that idea is really cool, by the way!), they seem to start to erase that clear line… they start to show you these figures not only as pure evil, but as characters with their own stories, their problems, even with issues that you can identify with! It doesn't stay with the typical "good guys vs. bad guys," but rather presents more real people, with their nuances, and that's always appreciated... it adds a really cool depth, it makes you doubt who the real monsters are at times. I felt like the series was maturing its own vibe, at the same time that Guideau, little by little, perhaps, was beginning to care about something more than his curse.
Now... is it perfect? Hmm, well no, the animation sometimes seems to falter, it's uneven... yes, thinking about it, there were moments, especially in the most epic fights, where I felt like they used more still images that looked a bit too cool, instead of super fluid animation. They showed you some really dynamic shots, yes, but they didn't always move as much as one would expect. For me, it wasn’t something that ruined the experience.. the overall drawing style is strong, the character designs are great and the atmosphere is so dense you could cut it with a knife.. for me the story, the characters, the world and that dark and exciting vibe made up for those flaws in the animation.. I was totally invested in Guideau and Ashaf’s journey, intrigued by the mysteries and honestly, I was surprised by some of the twists.
The season ends leaving you totally hooked with one of those endings that kills you, preparing what seems like a change to an even more Victorian, even half steampunk vibe, for what follows, as if they’re going to get into a horror classic.. it left me wanting more, so, my final verdict: I would give The Witch and the Beast a solid 8/10.. the story, the characters, how they built the world and the atmosphere are luxurious. It's dark, bloody, it intrigues you and hits you in ways you don't expect, the animation may be a weak point for some, and that's perhaps why I don't give it a higher rating, but without a doubt what lifts this series is its story, the complexity of its personalities and the setting... and well, that's all for today, I hope to see you in the next reviews, take care! Bye!

Hello cinephile friends, happy start of the week to all ✨. For a long time I wanted to see Our Friend a movie directed by Gabriela Cowperthwai and where the main characters are Casey Affleck, Dakota Johnson and Jason Segel. Not only because of the good cast that I must admit I like a lot, but the way Casey acts especially in the drama genre as he did in Manchester by the sea one of my favorite drama movies and where he plays an incredible role as the main character as well. This story is strong but leaves a wonderful message about love, the power of gratitude and the example of a good friendship. So I invite you to read my review 🥲.
The plot tells us the story of an almost perfect family, Matt (Casey Affleck) a hard working man who gives everything for his family including the lack of time he has due to his job as a journalist. We have Nicole (Dakota Johnson) a free-spirited woman who madly loves her family and has two incredible daughters who give her the strength to live life to the fullest. But not only is it a family of four, it also includes their best friend Dane (Jason Segel) a man who has a huge heart and although he has his moments of sadness, he is loyal to the affection that both Matt and Nicole have for him.
Things get complicated when Nicole is unexpectedly diagnosed with cancer, which strengthens the relationship between her and Matt and makes Dane the guardian angel of the family. We can see the painful process of a person who knows she is going to die, in Nicole's case she decides to write letters for the important moments that her daughters will live in the future in which she will no longer be there to accompany them or give them advice as a mother. But the most difficult thing is to keep the disease hidden from her daughters and her own family and friends, because that is what she decided and both Matt and Dane respected her decision.
Casey Affleck proves once again that he is not just an actor of not so popular movies, he has that gift of transmitting through the movies he makes especially the most dramatic ones, the feeling of loss, the emptiness of human suffering, the face of a person struggling with his own problems and he does it in an impeccable way. That's one of the things I enjoy the most when I see him on stage, his body expression and his look leaves your heart shattered. As for Dakota Johnson I'm not really a fan of her acting but I must admit I liked her in this story, she played a woman fighting this terrible disease in a very human way and I could feel the sense of hope she had despite her diagnosis. Jason Segel seems to me to have seen him in comedy movies, but in this one he shined showing how he is a true friend, someone who leaves his own life aside when he sees that his friends need him, his character gave me a lot of sadness and made me understand that there are friendships that become family.
Gabriela Cowperthwaite, known for documentaries like Blackfish, brings her realistic style to this film. There are no special effects or spectacular scenes; everything is focused on the emotions and relationships between the characters. The way he handles the jumps in time is masterful. The film doesn't follow a traditional timeline, but goes back and forth between the past and present, showing how the friendship between Matt, Nicole and Dane built up over the years. This gives the story depth and helps you understand why Dane is willing to do so much for them.
The message of this film is not only about the disease of cancer and what happens to the person who suffers from it and those who are their caregivers, it also speaks of the immense love between couples and the value of living while there is a chance. In addition, friendship is also the symbol of what it really means to have a person who is not your family and does not carry your blood, but you find in him a comfort, someone who understands even your silences and a person you know you can count on in good times and bad. That feeling of seeing Dane give everything for the family, taking care of the girls as if they were his own daughters, taking care of Matt while he battles with the idea of the death of the love of his life and also having so much strength to stand by Nicole, is the most beautiful and leaves you with the teaching that many times there are people who come into your life with a purpose and who become special beings.
When I finished watching Our Friend, I stayed for a while thinking about the internal struggles that each of us carries and that life is short enough to waste time on things that are not worth it. I did not cry but it did cause me that feeling of emptiness and pain to see the deterioration of a person who seemed to have everything in life, but that is how it happens in reality many times we think we will always have health when in reality everything can change from one moment to another, nothing is forever neither the bad times nor the good, so we must know how to appreciate what we do have and the possibility of seeing the sun rise once again.

I like to try to support films that are outside of the mainstream as much as I can but unfortunately, most of the time, there are very good reasons why they are out of the mainstream with unknown directors and writers at the helm as well as actors that if you have heard of them at all, it is for something really minor. I don't even know why most of them are made because the chances that they are actually going to turn a profit is normally pretty slim.
Barron's Cove has a promising premise and that is what drew me in, in the first place.
After his son is tragically killed, a grieving father with a history of violence kidnaps the child responsible, igniting a frenzied manhunt fueled by a powerful politician, the father of the kidnapped boy.
There are rules in films about hurting or killing children. I don't know if it is a law or just considered taboo by the industry, but its something you don't often see so when someone makes a screenplay about a film where children are going to have to be the subject of harm, I suppose that is part of the reason why this screenplay sat on a shelf for years before being picked up by a minor independent film distributor.
While I can't say for certain, I seriously doubt that this saw any sort of major rotation at cinemas.
The story is pretty compelling because an enraged father who happens to have a "specific set of skills" is well, something you have heard of before. But for him to use those skills to kidnap another kid is what makes this film unique. Then the story starts to unfold and thicken I suppose but for me at least, this is where it stopped being very interesting because almost all of what happens is completely implausible.
"Caleb" is the enraged father in question here and his son, Barron, is in almost none of the film. Caleb is played by Garrett Hedlund and he has some acting chops but comes across as, well I don't really know how to describe it but it seems more than a bit cringe in many of the scenes, so much so that at times I skipped the film ahead just to not have to endure it anymore.
There's only so much "super angry dad guy" screaming his way through his lines that I can tolerate, honestly.
The film does take some rather interesting and unexpected twists, which is good and rare for a USA production, but I'm afraid that what happens after the twists are revealed just isn't good enough and I suspect that they were rewrites to cater to a specific producer rather than what the original story called for. If you watch this film you can probably guess what the original story probably was, and that would have been far more gruesome and more like a Korean thriller, which I believe are the best thrillers in the world.
Another aspect of this film that was always going to get under my skin and perhaps others is the prevalence of child actors in it. There are several but the person who takes up a lot of screentime is the body "Ethan" who is played by Christian Convery who you might recognize from a show called Sweet Tooth.
I don't necessarily think that this performance is Convery's fault, but the time that he is on screen is more annoying than endearing like it is meant to be. This was a big ask of a young actor who has to be a wide range of things from whiny, vicious, caring, and also cunning throughout the film and in the end I mostly just wanted him to be on screen less but then again, I wanted this entire film to be about 30 minutes shorter than it was.
The list of implausible occurrences in this film are many and all of them have to happen in order for the film to go on at all but i'll be vague while still listing a few of them.
Ethan is kidnapped from an expensive private school in broad daylight in what appears to be a rather effortless action. This would be almost impossible and would make international news immediately.
It is known by everyone who kidnapped Ethan yet everyone seems pretty relaxed about actually finding him or Caleb even though everyone knows it is them. In reality the resources used to find them would be inexhaustible and would involve vast numbers of officers - not just the local cops and a single detective
There are other instances where Caleb gains access to secure places and it isn't explained how he is able to pull this off. He's just there all of a sudden. In the the film Taken every step of the process is explained and that is what made that film great. In this movie, we are just supposed to take them at their word that Caleb can do that because: Reasons.
While on the run Caleb paints over the construction logo on the side of his van so his vehicle wont be ID'd by anyone. It works. Ridiculous
Should I watch it?
That's a well-made trailer and it is put together so well that it actually convinced me to watch it. Unfortunately the actual film isn't anywhere near as good as that trailer is. I think that too much stress was placed on the individual actors and we just kind of cry and wall-punch our way through a script that is honestly too long for the story being told. I can't watch a person get all weepy about the same thing dozens of times in a row regardless of how traumatizing the event in question actually is meant to be. That's one of the greatest flaws of this film. The sorry that is meant to be experienced by the characters in the film is focused on to the point of numbness on the part of the audience.
This film easily could have been 30 minutes or more shorter than it is and the repetition of scenarios is also a weak point.
The main actors involved are not terrible actors: I'm not trying to say that. I just think that this screenplay was poorly executed as a film and some mistakes were made that had they been eliminated or perhaps kept the way that the original author of the screenplay intended, there is actually a pretty fantastic story in there. They were SO CLOSE to making a korean-esque thriller but instead wimped-out and changed it into a feelgood movie. This is what I take away from watching it anyway. It could have been something great but instead it is just another indie film trying to wear big boy pants and failing at doing so.
That being said there are some good scenes in this and if you are at a loss of what to watch you could see this one, remote in hand to skip almost all the scenes where Ethan and Caleb are alone.
There is currently no legal way to stream this as part of a subscription. It can be rented on many different platforms including Apple and Prime for around $6.
Originality of an idea in itself is neither a guarantee nor a necessary prerequisite for the quality of a film. If a story is told well, it matters less whether the audience has heard it before. However, if an idea is not skilfully utilised, not only will its originality prove of little help, but the lack of originality will become far more irritating. An even sadder case arises when a feature film attempts to exploit an idea that someone else has already developed far more effectively and successfully in a television series. One such example is What Happened to Monday, a sci-fi film whose plot will trigger considerable déjà vu effects for fans of the TV series Orphan Black.
The action is set in the second half of the 21st century within a federal Europe. Its rulers, like the rest of the world, face seemingly unsolvable ecological and demographic problems and opt for drastic solutions. A law is enacted strictly prohibiting the birth of more than one child, with parents punished and any excess children placed in cryo-chambers to remain frozen until happier times arrive. Terrence Settman (Willem Dafoe) has neither the patience nor understanding for such measures after his daughter dies giving birth to septuplets. Instead, he decides to keep all seven granddaughters, fortunate that they are all identical septuplets. They live confined to a single flat, with only one of them permitted to leave the apartment on a specific day of the week, all the while pretending to be the same person. This system functions for thirty years, but despite their identical appearance, the different versions of Karen Settman—nicknamed after the days of the week—develop distinct personalities and inclinations. This inevitably causes numerous complications, which finally escalate when Monday fails to return to her sisters one day. The remaining six are forced to assume her identity and attempt to uncover what happened to her, all while it becomes clear the authorities are closing in.
The film’s direction was entrusted to Tommy Wirkola, a Norwegian who gained attention several years ago with highly entertaining films about battling Nazi zombies. Although the premise of identity substitution might at first glance lend itself perfectly to a comedy of errors, the screenplay by Max Botkin and Kevin Williamson fails to exploit this potential. Instead, the dystopian world of an uncomfortably near future is portrayed with grim seriousness. There is not even room for Rapace, one of today’s most talented European actresses, to make anything meaningful of her demanding multiple role. Even more damning are the inevitable comparisons with Tatiana Maslany, whose clone roles in Orphan Black are far better written. More attentive viewers will unravel the mystery hinted at in the film’s title long before the characters do, and the dramatic turns in the melodramatic finale offer little in the way of genuine surprise.
That said, this does not mean What Happened to Monday is a bad film. Wirkola clearly relishes directing the action sequences, which at times rival the intensity of those in Atomic Blonde. Some viewers will also appreciate the subtle nods to classic dystopian cinema, such as Soylent Green, and discover unsettling allegories to current events. The sinister, bloodthirsty villains in the film are officials—or employees of what today’s EU might transform into—and it is not difficult to recognise Hillary Clinton in the character portrayed by Glenn Close. Despite a series of missed opportunities, the two-hour runtime passes relatively quickly and smoothly, an achievement that noisier, thematically similar Hollywood productions often fail to match.
RATING: 5/10 (++)

One thing we can't deny is that the last stage of Dragon Ball is riddled with fanservice. The amount of it in recent times has become exaggerated and grotesque. Whether it's characters, plots, or even details.
There's nothing wrong with resorting to fanservice. It's not necessarily a bad idea. Sometimes it can work out very well. Besides, what could be better for an author than wanting to please their fans? The problem arises when this resource is abused and, on top of that, done poorly.
First, I should explain what the term “fanservice” means. Basically, fanservice refers to any element or scene added to a work of fiction solely to please or attempt to please the audience. Mainly, the fans.
In principle, as I said before, there is nothing wrong with this. The problem arises when this tool is overused. And I believe that this is what happened with Dragon Ball over the last 10-12 years.
I think the clearest example of this is Freeza's return. We all agree that he is the best or one of the best villains in the franchise, but they exploited him too much. After being defeated by Goku on Namek, he was revived three times. First in the Android saga, when he returned as a “cyborg” and was easily defeated by Trunks from the future. Second, in the movie Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’, where he shows off his new transformation and is then killed by Goku and Vegeta. The third was during Dragon Ball Super, more precisely during the Tournament of Power, where he is revived with the excuse of getting the last fighter to defend Universe 7.
Needless to say, reviving a character three times is excessive, but that's not the only issue. There's also the fact that they somewhat ruined the character with some silly decisions. Like the moment when he wants to collect the dragon balls to wish for 5 cm more height. Because he has a complex about his height... That's how you take away the prestige and respect of your best antagonist.
A recent example of fanservice is what happened with Dragon Ball Daima. If we think about it, the entire series is fanservice. 🤣 But I'm going to refer to the return of SSJ 4. Many of us were happy with the return of this transformation, but if we think about it, it was done very poorly. There were no prior indications, no training was shown, no explanation was given as to how or why this phase was reached, NOTHING. Neva simply moved his hands, recited a phrase in the Namekian language, and that was it. There you have the laziest and most meaningless SSJ 4 in history. I don't understand how they're not ashamed. Akira Toriyama must be rolling over in his grave.

Hello Hive friends! Anime for me is more than just entertainment, but more like a window into a world full of wonder, science, and the human spirit... One anime that truly captured my imagination and rekindled my love of science was Dr.Stone...
Dr.Stone is a Japanese comic and an animated series made by riichiro inagaki and illustrated by the boichi... It began serialization in 2017 and anime's adaptation premiered in 2019... The story of this anime is told thousands of years in the future after a mysterious event turned every human on earth into a stone statue...
Centuries later, a young scientist named senku ishigami woke up in this petrified world determined to rebuild civilization from the beginning using the power of science... This series followed suit on me and his friends as they struggled to survive and restore mankind through discoveries, experiments, and strategic battles against rival factions...
• Theme and character
I think, in my opinion, that anime celebrates the science and intelligence of human beings... Different from many other anime focused on action or fantasy? Dr.Stone highlights logical thinking, experimentation, and scientific methods as a means of survival... What's more, my art he's a powerful inspiring protagonist, his enthusiasm to learn and solve problems...
Characteristics supporting such as:
taiju
yuzuriha
chrome
Warmth, humor, and color the story I think they have a unique skill and perspective that supplement my art intelligence and help this group overcome obstacles... It also explfies friendship, perseverance and ethical dilemmes in rebuilding societie...
• Personal reflection
Interns are watching Dr.Stone like a fresh breeze for me. In a world full of fantasy and supernatural forces , it's nice to see stories that are rooted in real science and the human spirit. I really felt I was learning and became curious about chemistry, physics, and engineering thanks to the way anime here explained his discoveries and experiments clearly but it was still entertaining...
Personally, Dr.Stone reminded me of the importance of perseverance and creativity when dealing with problems. His unwavering optimism of art and intellect show that no matter how trapped or choked our feelings in life, there is always a way forward with knowledge and determination... Anime this gave me hope and motivation to face my own challenges, both in science and in other aspects of life...
• Conclusion and invitation
Unless you've seen Dr.Stone, I highly recommend it... whether you're a science buff, an adventure, or a story on human toughness... It is unique anime, as well as educating and consoling, reminding us that even in the most difficult times, our wits and passions are able to rebuild the world.
Thanks for reading my review... I would love to know what you think of Dr.Stone or some other anime who has been inspiring... Let's, we discuss and share passion at hive!
Best regards,

After watching Furiosa A Mad Max Saga I have to say that I was left thinking about some things that do not make me say at once that I liked it, the truth is that George Miller tried to do something ambitious but I do not know if he managed to hit the nail on the head completely. The film starts with a fascinating story about the little Furiosa who lives in the green place and suddenly is kidnapped by some crazy people on motorcycles, so far so good because the environment is very well developed, but when it comes time to see Anya Taylor Joy replacing the girl you realize that something does not quite fit. Miller tries to connect this prequel with Fury Road but it seemed to me as if it was a different movie edited to fit in the same universe, that pass between the two Furies never ends up convincing and that's a big problem for a movie that is supposed to be about the character's growth. I thought Chris Hemsworth looks unrecognizable with that fake nose and beard, at first I thought it was a weird decision but then you understand that Dementus needed to look different than Thor, his acting is brutal and ruthless but at times it's like too much theater for the realistic world of Mad Max. The design is very good they manage to recreate that post apocalyptic world in an authentic way, from the vehicles to the citadels everything looks real but the movie is like longer than necessary and there are parts where the action stops too much to explain things that didn't need explanation, it also lacks the visceral force that Fury Road had.
Something I noticed with Furiosa is that it wants to be a revenge story, an explanatory prequel or pure action, all at the same time I think Miller tried to do all three things at the same time and the result was somewhat scattered. The first hour is okay but then it gets very slow, more when Furiosa works as a mechanic in the citadel and has to hide that she is a woman, that part was filler. When the action part finally arrives with the war trucks and chases it gets a lot better, that convoy scene attacking the truck was very well done and reminded me of the specialness of the Mad Max movies but then it slows down again with more backstory that frankly wasn't needed. Tom Burke is Furiosa's crush and truth be told he does his best but his character is dem basic that I never managed to connect emotionally with him, his death was more like a script obligation than a truly tragic moment. The relationship between them develops too fast even for how Mad Max world is, where people fall in love and die in the same day, here they needed more time for me to feel something for that romance. Anya Taylor Joy also does what she can but the script doesn't give her enough emotional material to work with and it shows in every scene.
What I did like was the exploration of the Mad Max world, seeing Gas Town and Bullet Farm was amazing, especially the sequence where Dementus takes control of Gas Town using an elaborate plan that involves faking his own death. The towns look like real places where people live and fight to survive and are not just settings for fights, the connection to Fury Road works well at times, more so when we see how Furiosa lost her arm and why she developed that thirst for revenge that comes out in the original film, but at times the references are a bit forced as if Miller was making a crossing one off a list of things fans wanted to see. The ending where Furiosa plants the peach pit in Dementus' body is brutal but at the same time a bit cheesy for the serious tone the film came with up to that point. The special effects are fine for the most part but there are moments where you can tell they used more CGI than necessary, especially in the scenes of the vehicles flying through the air that look less convincing than the practical madness of Fury Road.
The actors playing the War Boys and the various warlords also do what they can but none have enough screen time to create memorable characters. The film is divided into chapters as if it were an epic but in reality it's more like a series of pasted together episodes each section has its own tone and pace that doesn't always connect well with what comes before or after. Miller clearly wanted to do something different than Fury Road but sometimes different doesn't mean better and more so when what worked in the previous film was perfect as it was. The violence is well handled but never reaches those moments of pure madness that made Fury Road so exciting, here everything is more controlled and predictable. The themes of survival and revenge are present but they are not very deep they are played over the top and don't risk to really explore what they mean in this destroyed world. The visuals are okay but I think it didn't quite reach what was shown in Fury Road, the desert shots are nice but they lack that sense of vastness that made you feel lost along with the characters.
Furiosa is a movie that you can watch and enjoy but it's not going to stay in my memory like Fury Road did, Miller manages to create a standard prequel that expands the world of Mad Max without ruining what already worked but also doesn't add anything essential that we couldn't have imagined ourselves. My score is 7/10, I think the film suffers from the impossible expectations its predecessor created, anything that came after was going to feel like a disappointment compared to that action masterpiece. Anya Taylor Joy and Chris Hemsworth are good in their acrobatics but their characters never reach the emotional depth they needed to really matter to their fates, they remain well done but predictable. It lasts two and a half hours and I felt it much longer especially in the second part, it could have easily been cut thirty minutes without losing anything important of the story. The action sequences are well done but none reach the level of pure genius that reached the desert chase of Fury Road, If you are a fan of Mad Max I recommend you see it but do not expect to be completely satisfied, I think it could have been much better if Miller had taken more risks instead of playing it so safe.

I don't remember exactly the first time I watched Schindler's List, but I remember very well being impacted by all the horrors I was "witnessing," all of them right there in front of me (although not through the "augmented reality" imposed by the big screen in a movie theater). When I rewatched this movie (in my teenage years, and with a deeper knowledge of the history of World War II, as well as all the atrocities committed by the Germans against the Jews), I was even more disturbed by the facts (in different aspects), because everything became much worse than it had been before.
In this impeccable classic from filmmaker Steven Spielberg (which was skillfully written by Thomas Keneally and Steven Zaillian... based on the book Schindler's Ark by Thomas Keneally), the audience follows the journey of Oskar Schindler, an influential German businessman who broke all the rules of his own world to do the unthinkable: save the lives of more than a thousand Jews. Although the movie is not a complete representation of reality, it is based on true events and gives the audience a true dimension of the events, which in turn are quite tense within their socio-political-cultural context. When the project comes to life off-screen, everything becomes bigger.
In 2022, during a backpacking trip through Europe, I made a point of including Poland on my list of countries I wanted to visit precisely to have the opportunity to visit two of the most infamous concentration camps (due to the brutality of the events committed by the Germans against the Jews): Auschwitz and Birkenau. Both visits were done in groups and guided by professionals who know the history of both places. With each passage I saw, it was impossible not to remember the movie. As a real cinephile, this was - without a shadow of a doubt - an unforgettable experience. I literally retraced steps taken decades ago.
Some places brought back more vivid cinematic memories through visual associations, and others through narrative associations. I was living in two places simultaneously, and that's a feeling that's quite difficult to describe, even for me, who loves writing so much. In any case, I can say it was a moment of historical appreciation (and profound sorrow for a people who suffered so much) that I will never forget, and that only made me admire even more the work done by Spielberg, who has been immortalized on movie screens around the world (and in the minds of people who saw this movie and truly understood the weight of what was on screen).
The cast includes Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes, Caroline Goodall, Ben Kingsley and Embeth Davidtz, who are both effusive and narratively penetrating in their respective roles (each in their own way). However, as expected, Neeson steals every scene he's in, because it's his own take on Oskar Schindler that makes the movie unforgettable (beyond the story itself, of course). The supporting cast is also highly effective, creating a perfect synergy amidst all the chaos that unfolds in the plot. A golden cast, in a movie that does justice to their talents.
Schindler's List isn't "just" another movie about World War II... It's a movie about humanity and the lack thereof within a single race. Technically, it's a perfect movie in every sense (and while I know the perfect movie doesn't exist, this is an example that comes very close) and, year after year, it becomes increasingly important for all the debates it still manages to spark. Everything about this movie works masterfully, from its meticulous execution (with brutal angles, prominent lighting, intense black and white colors, and clever scene editing) to its surgical direction; this project is truly a pain in the art form.

People are born with certain skills, some are good for letters, others are good for numbers and so on, the same happens with directors and characters they want to represent, James Gunn is a colossus represented chorus of characters with a grotesque creativity, that is his greatest power and proves it in Peacemaker, The Suicide Squad .... but is not worthy of embodying Kal El.
Superman of 2025 directed by James Gunn is totally a teletubbietesque film as it focuses on ridiculing and humiliating the character constantly as Marvel does with their characters, the film is entertaining for light audiences who do not seek to exercise those neurons and just want to eat popcorn while enjoying with their families, children and friends, totally recommended to see if you are looking for something light and funny that meets the formula of saving babies and pets.
Before I continue, the real power of interaction in this post that called your attention, is to give play to my video review because there I express myself massively and in detail in the positive and negative aspects of the film objectively.
Now in my case I am part of that audience that looks for more of these stories, I look for reflections, personal growth and these heroes have it to spare in all its history of decades, Superman is a beacon of light, hope that radiates to the world and inspires it to be better.... nothing of that I see in this film, the “S” in the suit I think that for James Gunn means SuperSex because the narrative indicates me that by raising its Kryptonian heritage in a bizarre way.
A narrative disaster is this movie, it sinks the character and turns him into a Yancha, of the rest of the characters I think many are very well but Superman is the one that literally falls to the ground, if you are one of those people looking to see stories that leave a philosophical, social, political, heroic impact in your mind, you will suffer with this movie, the rest of the audience will have a great time if they just want to laugh at Superman.
I totally rescue the actor David Corenswet, I see in him the presence of Superman but Gunn humiliates him too much and never rescues him, this is a failure of the director, not the actor.
I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.
