Hello, beautiful people! Welcome to my blog. It's a pleasure to have you in this space. Once again, welcome 🤗
The first kdrama that I watched that introduced me to the beauty of the Korean world was Boys Over Flowers, which I believe to be the most popular kdrama because most people that I know that started watching kdramas in 2012/2013 said this was the first kdrama they ever watched.
Summary
Boys Over Flowers is a 2009 South Korean romcom drama that featured Koo Hye-sun, Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun-joong, Kim Bum, and Kim Joon. The drama is about Geum Jan-di, a poor girl, and the F4, a group of four wealthy, popular, and powerful young men in her elite high school, Shinhwa High School.
The movie started with Geum Jan-di, who went to Shinhwa High School to deliver laundry when she noticed a boy who was on the verge of committing suicide, and she saved his life. The news of how she saved the boy went viral and was also published in the newspaper. While the chairwoman was being criticized for what happened, in order to shut up the masses, she decided to give Geum Jan-di a scholarship.
When she resumed school, she was immediately irritated by how the wealthy were behaving, but what annoyed her the most was how the whole school was obsessed with the F4 boys. Because of how she didn't care or regard them, Jun-pyo singled Jan-di out to bully her, but despite everything, she stood up to him.
The drama continued between them till Jun-pyo developed feelings for her.
Movie Review
The drama is an interesting one with impressive performance by the cast. It shows what some students go through in the hands of bullies and how most times the school authorities are aware but do nothing about it because the bully is from a wealthy home.
Jan Di's roles show resilience and tenacity. It shows how strong some people are and would never bow down to bullies. The drama explored different themes like love and friendship.
I would rate the drama a 4/5 and would also recommend it for k-drama lovers.

Why is K-drama popular?
I feel K-dramas (Korean dramas) are popular because of how engaging their storylines are; they keep you glued to the screen. The romantic scenes make you want to fall in love all over again.
Another thing is how the culture and traditions and values are displayed. I got to know a lot about the Korean transition from their movie. I love how they still maintain some of the culture even though the world has evolved.
K-dramas have excellent cinematography, their acting is top notch, they have a way of evoking strong emotional connections with their viewers.
I think another reason why k-dramas are so popular is because of its accessibility. It's easier to get them on different online sites.

Hello movie buff friends, this afternoon I want to tell you about a movie for lovers of adventure and action, I'm talking about red alert, a movie that I loved very much and I decided to give you a short summary. Spoiler alert.
This film begins in Rome with agent John Harley who, together with an Interpol agent, are alerted about the theft of one of the golden eggs, the first egg. Upon analyzing it, they realize that it is fake. Harley realizes that the thief is still in the museum and begins a chase to catch him, although they make a huge fuss, and the thief manages to escape with the egg.
We see that a few days later Depool arrives at a summer house in Bali, but Harley was already waiting for him along with a team of police officers. Upon being arrested, Harley tells Deadpool that he is no longer the best thief, that there is a mysterious girl named Arfil, who helped him find him.
When they leave, an agent exchanges the egg for a fake one. The next day Harley is having a drink when he comes to the people telling him that the egg was fake and although he tries to explain his innocence he is arrested and sent to a maximum security prison. He finds himself cellmates with Depool who explains that he wanted to steal the 3 eggs to collect a reward that an Arab millionaire was giving.
After a while they are taken to the director of the prison who turned out to be the bishop, the most wanted thief in the world. She explains that she already has the first egg and that she needs help to find the second and third eggs in order to collect the reward of 300 million dollars and that she will give him 10%. They told her that they did not accept this, they would not help her. Then we see that they are working together and plotting an escape, they make a bomb with soap which destroys a wall and they start a fight to get out. Once free, they head towards the millionaire's mansion that has the second egg, where after sneaking past security they enter the safe, but the surprise was when they met the thief, another fight over the egg and they were captured by the millionaire's men, who was warned by the thief.
The millionaire arms dealer ties them under a detour to make Depool talk, while the Arfil tortures Harley to tell him where the third egg is, until Depool tells him where it was hidden, already knowing the location, the Arfil poisons the dealer and goes in search of it.
They escape again by passing through the bulls with an epic exit, receiving flowers from the public.
This time they head towards the Argentine Amazon where the last egg really is. On their train ride they both tell each other stories about their parents, becoming good friends. Until they arrive at the place and find what they longed for, but the thief appears again to take the egg from them and minutes later the Interpol agent with a whole team prepared, they have no choice but to join the three of them and escape with the egg, jumping over a waterfall and falling into a river. They come out alive but to Depool's surprise, the thief and Harley are a couple, meaning that from the beginning they were working together to find out the location of the egg.
Without further ado, after they tell him everything, they leave, leaving Depool tied to a tree in the middle of the forest.
In Cairo, the wedding of the daughter of the millionaire who gave him the reward of eggs is celebrated, while the agent arrives and arrests everyone, taking the three eggs.
Six months later we see the couple in Hitalia enjoying themselves on a luxurious yacht until Depool appears telling them that he took revenge for leaving him alone in the jungle and gave his money accounts to the people who canceled them completely, leaving them penniless. And he went to offer them a new job that paid twice as much, but he needed the help of both of them, they accept the job and we see them later towards the Louvre museum.
And that's it for my summary, I hope you enjoy the film, I highly, highly recommend it, and because these magnificent artists work, you will have an entertaining time.
I send you a big hug, success and blessings 🙏.

Marvel is a great franchise and has a lot of money that allows them to continue betting on bringing out new superhero movies, which in recent times have received much criticism, since they do not achieve what viewers are looking for as their first films of the universe, managing to make the difference of many superhero movies. Therefore, this new year new releases were planned and thus continue the adventure and be able to revive a couple of characters that are amazing and, as risky as it is and pay a lot of money, managed to fit and thus return to the Fantastic 4 in that great room of the cinema.
I went to see this great installment, for the very fact of being a big fan of the Fantastic Four and the original movie in which this new one was inspired is a marvel and that is where it allowed to meet this group of superheroes and the most impressive thing to see new powers within the Marvel universe. Therefore this time they returned to recreate a great story with a very unique style, as it is as retro futuristic and thus to bet on something different, since it presents a great family, where their lives are full of many challenges and most importantly to carry and control the power that characterizes each of them before a society that does not know about it and those enemies in order to give excitement and we wonder can this new group of superheroes emerge victorious?
The film being of this year and with all the technology that exists, allows it to be a very good story of superheroes, thus achieving to assemble a plot loaded with lots of action, challenges and especially each of those battles that are always present in this type of productions, also reaches a point where you can identify with the first film to know a little of what might happen, However, we get carried away and see all that great family trying to leave everything in order and thus be a great universe, as well as each of the missions that have to do and using space, more advanced equipment and having to deal with their powers brings value, since any mistake can all go wrong. We can not leave out that also covers family issues, as a baby, and so come new responsibilities, emotions and therefore saving the world is one of the most important things for everyone.
The action and how each of the scenes are developed are excellent in order to create that great impact and tension, also to immerse in a story that is different from those presented in previous Marvel movies and thus to give ample space to new films that will surely come and thus to include these four superheroes that without many better than others. The film bet a lot in creating something attractive, but also in betting on very good actors and with a long history in the world of cinema and thus be able to enter the universe as Pedro Pascal in giving one of the best powers and a responsibility for both the film and the team, as well as many others who stand out and add value as is the villain of the film that without his presence none of this would be possible.
Betting on taking this new movie of the fourth fans: first steps shows that it is a franchise that continues to bet on making movies and thus to follow the adventure of Marvel, also this leaves many things unresolved one perhaps we will see them again in a next movie, as the team of both superheroes and villains continues to grow and thus to enjoy new things that one expects in this type of film. Besides, this one presents many interesting themes that can be noticed nowadays and that human feeling that we all go through, so for sure there will be more things to come for this great world of Marvel.
I’ve become increasingly wary of live actions, and for good reason because Disney in the last few years have ruined a lot of cult classics for me. I would say Snow White broke my heart or disappointed me, but that would mean that I had any hope in it at all, which in all honesty, I did not. Anyway, I had a little space in between to see this film sometime this morning, and so, I dared to hope.
Lilo & Stitch (2025)
We all know how the story of Lilo and Stitch goes. For those of us who saw it like I did well over a decade ago, you’d know that this movie has its roots deep in one thing. Family. Family is such a pivotal part of the original Lilo & Stitch, and the whole movie was overwhelming in the best of ways because this was prioritized.
And in the live action, it’s no different. We’re drawn into the story of Lilo who is seen as weird, does not have a lot of friends and seeks one true friend, and her sister, Nani, who is basically trying to put their lives together after their parents died. She’s running the risk of losing Lilo permanently to Child Protection Services, but she’s willing to make it work, even though it feels futile at first.
Now, there are ups and downs in this movie. Positives and negatives that will forever be present as far as there are live actions. The animation was just right. I loved it, and then incorporating it into the graphics was just stellar. Maybe some of the characters could have had a lot more depth in form and structure, but I guess it’s not too bad.
And for the characters, they did quite well in some parts. Who ever casted Lilo was definitely in his element. I can’t think of someone more perfect. She was incredibly adorable, spirited, and just has that energy that invites you to watch her more. A true Native American, she was my favourite character (as she should be), and brought the entire story to her life with how cute she was.
The person portraying Nani was just fine and even David. I think I mostly have issues with Cobra Bubbles. He really endangered their lives, and did not seem to have much of a use as compared to the animation where he was pivotal to the story, and genuinely trying to do right by Nani.
The biggest betrayal to me was the elimination of Gantu. Gantu, as an antagonist, is more or less the foundation to the entire story. The concept of family is strengthened on his wiles and how deeply his evil ran. Seeing them completely obliterate him from the film, and turning Uncle Jumba into a villain was just a ghastly sight. It makes me almost wonder if the producers of this movie actual saw the original.
I appreciate a movie that diverts from the script, but only if it’s done with purpose and we get the general picture in the end I didn’t, for this one. Maybe the only thing I can say I didn’t hate too bad was Nani going to college and pursuing her dreams of being a marine biologist.
In the animation, this was not so, and the subject of family sticking together was placed at the centre. But, I believe that people should be able to evolve. And seeing that Lilo ended up in safe hands, I guess it wasn’t too bad of a switch in plot.
They eliminated the essence of Elvis Presley in refining Stitch and even Nani’s love for photography as a coping mechanism. These are tidbits that made Lilo & Stitch the wholesome beauty that it was. While this was lacking in the live action, it doesn’t rule out how alright this movie was. A 7.5/10 from me, and mostly because of the girl who played Lilo. I loved her acting way too much. Maybe or not, there's hope for Disney where live actions are concerned.
Purple Hearts is an emotional movie with fake arranged marriage, sacrifice and unexpected love. Directed by Elizabeth Allen Rosenbaum, it is based on a novel with same name by Tess Wakefield. This movie centers on Romance, Comedy, Melodrama, Music and Drama. Can love which starts with a lie ever feel so real?
I’ve been seeing edits about this movie on my Instagram fyp, and I thought “Why don’t I give it a try?” So I did.
The Plot
Cassie Salazar is a girl diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and apparently, the insurance she had wasn’t enough to cover up the treatment she needed.
On the other hand, there’s Luke Morrow a Marine with a rather difficult past and a hanging debt. Luke also owes money to his drug dealer, Johnno. Yes, Luke was once a drug addict. And was getting threatened by Johnno to pay back 15 grand.
These two met at the bar Cassie works at and Luke seemed to have an interest in her at a glance but she’s feisty, she shunned him off. That was their first encounter, they didn’t click the first time, but I could already feel the spark.
Cassie’s Insulin’s were running out. She found out that marine’s spouses get health benefits which would be able to cover up whatever medications she needed.
They were both desperate. So they decided to get married just for the benefits. Cassie believes that marriage is just a pointless legal arrangement that turns lovers into enemies. Their marriage was only meant to be temporary and simple. But nothing about their story is simple.
So I'm sure we all know how this is going to end. Yeah… They ended up falling in love.
My Thoughts
The chemistry between Cassie and Luke was undeniable. I liked Cassie. I admire her courage and her love for music, She was the perfect wife figure even though she doesn’t believe in marriage.
She even wrote a song about Luke, and she called him her muse. I really liked that she called him that.
It broke me so much when everything was later exposed and Luke was charged with fraud, and sentenced to 6 months in prison. He received a discharge from the Marines. And in court, Luke takes responsibility and said he’d tricked Cassie into marrying him.
My Rating
Purple Heart is a movie I’m glad I didn’t sleep on it. When I first saw the name of the movie, I almost lost interest immediately. But I was also curious about why the movie was named such.
I’ll rate this movie a 8 out of 10. It’s definitely worth the watch. I’d recommend it anytime.
Three years after the not so successful that was Jurassic World Dominion, the franchise is back with another attempt at bringing dinosaurs to the big screen, this time with Scarlett Johansson leading the charge instead of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard who are thankfully nowhere to be seen, because even though we all love good old Star Lord, Owen Grady didnt work for him last time. Gareth Edwards takes over directing duties and tries to inject some fresh blood into this tired formula but honestly after sitting through this movie I'm wondering if maybe its time to just let these prehistoric beasts stay extinct. The movie sets up this whole expedition to remote equatorial regions where they need to extract DNA from three massive dinosaurs for some kind of medical breakthrough that could cure heart disease, which sounds cool in theory but the execution is just as messy as you would expect from the seventh movie in this series. The magic that made the original Jurassic Park so special back in the 90s is completely gone here, replaced with generic action sequences and characters that feel more like placeholders than actual people you might care about. From the very first scene with that ridiculous Snickers wrapper causing a complete security system meltdown, you know this movie is going to test your patience rather than entertain you but somehow I managed to sit through the entire thing hoping it would get better although it got hilarious as it gets more ridiculous.
The story follows two separate groups that eventually merge together in the most predictable way possible, first we got Johansson's team of mercenaries who are hired to go collect DNA samples from living dinosaurs because apparently the technology that cloned dinosaurs from mosquito blood in amber is not good enough anymore. Then theres this random family sailing through dinosaur infested waters because the script needed more characters to put in danger, even though any reasonable person would avoid those areas like the plague after everything thats happened in the previous movies. The family storyline feels completely glued and has no real purpose other than to give us a cute baby dinosaur that the little girl takes home at the end, which makes no sense since the movie establishes early on that dinosaurs can only survive in equatorial regions due to climate and air quality issues. Johansson does her best with the material but her character Zora is just another tough military woman who shoots things and it really felt like the movie was taking advantage of her Black Widow character on the MCU sucking out of that personality, while the supporting cast including the guy from Wicked and Mahershala Ali feel wasted in roles that could have been played by anyone. The corporate villain played by Rupert Friend is so obviously evil from his first scene that you spend the entire movie waiting for him to betray everyone and when he finally does its about as shocking as finding out water is wet.
What really frustrated me about this movie is how it keeps making the same mistakes that killed the previous sequels, mainly focusing way too much on action and spectacle while forgetting to give us characters worth caring about or a story that makes any sense, example what about the damn Dinosaurs, this time around they totally wasted and at the same timer recycle all over again the hybrid species idea. The whole thing about people being bored with dinosaurs is just stupid, like seriously who would get tired of seeing real living dinosaurs walking around but the movie needs this excuse to work so we just have to accept it. The action sequences themselves are decent enough, especially the boat attack scene with the Spinosaurus pack and the final underground chase but they feel disconnected from any emotions or drama because we barely know these people and most of them are either annoying or completely forgettable, yes there were some tense moments but they were so predictable that almost none of them work, the literally use an entire family as punching bag. Edwards does manage to create some real tension during the horror influenced moments, specially when they are hiding and running away from the mutated dinosaur in the facility but these scenes are too few and far between to save the overall movie, also they were so damn dark that reminds me of Godzilla 1998 where you only see the damn feet of the thing. The movie also suffers from terrible pacing issues, jumping between the two storylines without any real rhythm and spending way too much time on exposition dumps where characters explain their tragic backstories to build sympathy we never actually feel, by the time all the characters finally meet up on the island, you realize the movie has wasted most of its runtime on a setup that doesn't pay off in any way.
The technical aspects are a mix of yeah and nay with some impressive practical effects work but also plenty of bloated CGI moments that makes the dinosaurs look like expensive video game characters rather than living breathing creatures, thats they hole point, make you feel or think this are real creatures but not only they look out of a video game but some very cartoon ish, some of them even reminds me that old TV show from the 90s, Dinasours with the baby Sinclair, damn Im old. The sound is probably the movies strongest element with some cool tension moments and creating this jump scares and tension even when the visuals fall short but even that cant overcome the fundamental problems with the script, lack of context and character development. Something that got me thinking is why would some of the characters be amaze like of example Dr. Loomis who gets some amaze to watch some of this Dinasours when they were in fact all around the world, its like they trying to push the same or similar effects of the first movies, but its hollow because we have seen this exact same scene played out multiple times across six previous movies. What made that moment special in 1993 was that it was the first time anyone had seen dinosaurs brought to life with such realistic effects, now its just another CGI spectacle in a world over saturated with them. The mutations and genetic engineering subplot could have been interesting if the movie actually explored the science behind it or the ethical implications but instead it just serves as an excuse to create more dangerous monsters for the characters to fight, is it Jurassic Park or Monster Park?.
When I think about this franchise as a whole, its clear that everything after the original movie has been going down the hill with no one been able to turn this ship around, yes there has been some small innovations or cool twist here and there but nothing that truly amaze me anymore, the 2015 and 2018 were the last good attempts to this but each sequel feels more desperate and less inspired than the last. Rebirth is definitely better than Fallen Kingdom and Dominion, thats just my opinion, as both were both complete disasters, but thats such a low bar that even going over it doesnt really count for anything, Im not asking for new Dinosaurs but a better drama and more context would help a lot, probably if they do a TV series that connects with the movies just as the Monsterverse is doing would bring more sense to this and future movies. The movie feels very very pre fabricated like a corporate product designed by committee to hit specific demographic targets rather than a story someone actually wanted to tell and it shows its so predictable plot twist and generic characters too. At this point I think Universal needs to either give this franchise a long break or completely re imagine it as something darker and more mature because the current approach of making sanitized family friendly adventure movies with dinosaurs has clearly run out of gas, probably just go back to practical instead of full blown CGI. The audience scores will probably be higher than the critics because people love dinosaurs and nostalgia but that doesnt change the fact that this is a very meh movie that adds nothing new or interesting to the Jurassic Universe, yes you can leave the brain at the door, watch the movie and have a good time but its like trying to dumb down yourself, take the movie for what it is, I did gave it a 7/10 on my thread about it but now its more like a 6/10 that not even watching at the theater with all the experience itself would save this movie.
Did you watch The Sadness? A Chinese zombie movie—one movie I feel was so underrated because I never heard of it, meanwhile it is more interesting than most of the big names when it comes to zombie movies. I once wrote about it. If you've watched it, you'll already know what this movie is all about because it's almost the same, but The Sadness has the upper hand in terms of plot.
Ziam is a Thai movie, and that alone piqued my interest because I wanted to see what the Thai industry would be able to put up. It's a recent movie, released in July 2025.
Singh and Rin are a couple who are barely surviving on the little they earn. The wife, Rin, works in the hospital, while the husband, Singh, does dirty and risky jobs which the wife has complained about severally, pleading with him to stop, but he couldn't obey because that’s the only job available to him. In the midst of the complaints, they both love themselves so much.
The wife went to work, and along the line, a patient was rushed in. While trying to save the man from whatever was wrong with him, he gave up the ghost. The doctor and nurses, except one nurse, left the body on the bed, and within a few minutes, the dead man jolted back to life as a zombie—and that was it. He attacked the only nurse left, and that’s how the spread began and an alarm was raised.
Singh, upon hearing that the hospital where his wife works was in danger, decided to go to the hospital to save his wife—and that’s where the peak of the movie started.
As a zombie movie lover, I love to pay good attention to their displays. The zombies in this movie are the very fast and crazy ones. They run extremely fast like the ones in Apocalypse Z, and they're not so sensible.
They face a direction and remain there until they see or sense another human around. The way these ones eat flesh is so brutal, and I love the idea and the graphics. They torn human flesh with no mercy, and those scenes looked so real. Also, there were some reactions of the zombies that I noticed, and I must applaud the editors and costume directors for putting together such a beauty. The zombies have a strange reaction where their bones can be seen kicking very hard as though trying to jump out of their skin.
Back in the hospital, when I thought it was just going to be the usual survival run against the zombies, an unexpected plot twist chipped in. A very famous man, Mar Vasus, had his wife in the hospital. When the government wanted to blast off the hospital with everyone inside—to prevent the zombies from escaping—they changed their decision when they heard that Mr. Vasus and his wife were inside. So, they sent in a special team to rescue them, but it became another big issue for Singh and Rin in the hospital. I won't spoil it for you. Go and watch it to see how it ended.
But there are flops too:
Singh refused to die, and those scenes where we thought he had died but somehow survived are very questionable. Towards the end, he got crowded by these zombies and still escaped. How? It happened like magic. As much as I was praying for him to survive while watching, I frowned at those scenes where he reappeared again.
Before I drop my keyboard, I must say the characters did well—except for the boy, Buddy, Rin's friend in the hospital. I know he acted according to the script, but some of his scenes were off, especially the awkward comic parts.
After watching Gladiator 2 I was like I don't know how to say it I don't want to use the word disappointed but I was expecting much more after almost 25 years since the original came out which until now is still my favorite, but the thing is that this sequel was like they wanted to do exactly the same thing again expecting the same result, only with new actors and modern effects and in my opinion this didn't work at all. Paul Mescal can be very handsome and all but as the main character was the biggest problem this movie had, he doesn't have that presence that makes you believe that this guy can lead men or inspire someone, Russell Crowe imposed that respect on screen just with his physical presence, it was impossible not to feel that you were watching a real warrior leader, instead Mescal looks like a kid playing gladiator, tell me in those scenes where he tries to give motivational speeches that had to be saved by the dramatic music instead of his natural charisma. His physique also didn't help much for what the role requires, he looks like he just came out of the gym for the first time in his life, not like someone who has fought in real battles or has the experience needed to survive in the Colosseum and the other thing is that I felt he didn't have good chemistry with the rest of the actors it was all kind of forced. The twin emperors played by Joseph Quinn and Fred Hechinger also didn't make you feel real danger or tyranny which is what the story needed to work, they looked more like two rich kids playing evil than real tyrants that could terrorize an entire empire.
What frustrated me the most about the whole experience was that for almost half of the first half the movie basically recycles the same narrative elements of the first one, there's the protagonist who loses his family, ends up as a gladiator slave and seeks revenge against the general who took everything from him, it's literally the same formula but without that emotional part that made it work originally. Denzel Washington as Macrinus was the only redeemable of all the actors, the guy knows how to act and manages to give some depth to a character that could easily have been just another bad guy, his interpretation of the ambitious political manipulator is well executed although it is nothing revolutionary either. Pedro Pascal as General Acacius does what he can with a role that is rather predictably written, from the first moment you know he's not really the bad guy and that there is a deeper connection to the protagonist that will be revealed later on, I guess they thought we weren't going to be smart enough to understand him and made it too obvious hahaha. The action scenes are well done and clearly high budget, but they lack that visceral brutality that the fights in the original movie had, there's not that rawness and reality as gladiatorial combat should be, even the special effects look too digital compared to the first movie.
The direction is still by Ridley Scott and I don't know what is happening to this guy or if he was on autopilot, it is known that he has experience making this kind of epic movies but here he doesn't feel real passion for the material, it's as if he was fulfilling a contract rather than telling a story that he really cares about telling, that's the impression I got from this movie. The script is perhaps the weakest thing about it all because the dialogue is kind of contrived and often redundant, there is too much forced exposition where characters explain things that should be shown visually, character motivations change without proper justification just to move the plot where the script needs to go and that's it. The constant flashbacks to the original movie instead of helping to connect both stories only serve to remind you how much better the first version was, I think they did not trust that this story could stand alone and had to resort to the past and in my case what they achieved was that I was always comparing and I definitely prefer the first part. Another thing is the rhythm in the third part is like rushed everything is resolved in a very convincing way, there is no good development or much drama is more the end comes and I did not get to feel a real connection with any of the new characters.
In the visuals I'm not complaining it has things that are impressive, I liked how they recreated the Colosseum and the naval battles inside although there are things that are too artificial by the abuse of digital effects and I go back again but in the first film this was also more convincing, I'm comparing a lot is not my fault they themselves brought it on themselves by bringing so many scenes from the first part to this one. The production design is fine even if it's nothing memorable, the costumes and sets do their job without adding anything particularly innovative or interesting to what one already knew, even the new gladiators and new weapons are like minor variations of what had already been seen before. The soundtrack by Hans Zimmer tries to recapture the musical magic of the original but ends up being an inferior version that relies too much on recycling existing musical themes instead of creating new melodies that can stick with you and you can remember, the most important action scenes are accompanied by music that I had already heard in the first film which breaks with that you can get fully into the film.
For me Gladiator 2 is an unnecessary sequel if they hadn't made it it wouldn't affect anything, I think it exists more for commercial reasons rather than artistic ones, it doesn't add anything new or significant to the legacy of the original film and in many cases even damages it by association. I'm sorry but Paul Mescal doesn't have what it takes to carry a film of this magnitude and more so if he is always going to be compared to Russell Crowe who delivered one of the best performances in the history of epic cinema, it's unfair to him but it's also the reality when you decide to make a sequel to such an iconic film. The few good moments the movie has are completely overshadowed by the feeling I had that I was watching something I had seen before but done in an inferior way, I didn't like it and I feel sorry for it because they could have made a good sequel. I give it a 6/10 and I'm being good I think because of the nostalgia that gives me the first movie, I think that although it is very good on a technical level it is an empty movie on an emotional level and should rather be used as a reminder that some masterpieces should remain as unique instead of exploiting them commercially to exhaustion, I tell you that if you see it do it with very low expectations and then maybe you will enjoy it more than I did.
Hyeronimus “Harry” Bosch (Titus Welliver), a Los Angeles police detective, successfully solved a difficult case of serial murders, but several months later was suspended due to a physical altercation with one of his supposed suspects. His triumphant return to the office and among colleagues who value his investigative talent comes at the right moment, given that a body of a porn producer has been found in a car boot. Bosch and his partner J. Edgar (Jamie Hector) quickly deduce it is not a random robbery, but a professionally executed hit, whose motives could be linked to money laundering for the benefit of Armenian and Russian mafia groups. Bosch’s trail leads him to Las Vegas, where he also gets the chance to reunite with his ex-wife Eleanor (Sarah Clarke) and his 15-year-old daughter Maddie (Madison Lintz). Meanwhile, Irvin Irving (Lance Reddick), the deputy police chief, becomes involved in the mayoral campaign of an ambitious district attorney, while discreetly monitoring his own son George (Robbie Jones). The younger George, a rookie in the drugs unit, has joined forces with his friend and colleague Eddie Arceneaux (James Ransone) to conduct a clandestine investigation into police corruption. Circumstances reveal that both cases are interconnected, but Bosch must also confront new evidence that could finally shed light on the unresolved murder of his mother after nearly four decades.
Bosch, the first flagship show with which Amazon threw down the gauntlet at Netflix as a new player in the streaming original content market, is not something the Jeff Bezos-owned company should be overly proud of, nor is it something to be ashamed of. What could be said about its first season largely applies to the second. Creator Eric Overmyer, who honed his craft as part of the The Wire creative team (and still shares some of that show’s cast), had no reason to reinvent the wheel. The show retains its “limited” season format of 10 episodes, blending material from several Michael Connelly novels to avoid plot sprawl. The narrative unfolds in a realistic manner, including its most spectacular scene—a brief shootout on the street—shown several episodes before the finale, while Bosch and his colleagues are left, much like in real life, to spend far more time dealing with its aftermath.
What distinguishes the second season from the first is that Bosch’s character is now more established, and there is less need to emphasise his tendency to, like Dirty Harry, violently assert his own brand of justice by trampling departmental rules and laws. There are also fewer irritating clichés in the form of serial killers who take their relationship with the investigating officer too personally. Instead, we have several vivid, yet realistic characters portrayed by a diverse, though somewhat accommodating, ensemble cast. Character actor Brent Sexton, as bodyguard and ex-cop Carl Nash, keeps viewers guessing whether he is a well-meaning man or a sly manipulator, while Matthew Lillard continues to enjoy himself in the role of a slick, arrogant strip club owner. However, the standout performance is Jeri Ryan (famous as Seven of Nine from Star Trek: Voyager), playing the ex-stripper and widow of the porn producer. She embodies a classic film noir femme fatale, yet the script ensures her character remains grounded in reality by the series’ end. Thanks to this, and above all its quality production, the second season of Bosch stands out in the late 2010s TV landscape, where audiences were lured like children in a sweetshop. It is a confection that may not be the sweetest, but it also won’t stick in your throat.
RATING: 6/10 (++)

There’s something inexplicably soothing about a series that doesn’t demand your complete intellectual attention but instead lets you sink into its world like a glass of red wine on a slow Sunday evening. Land of Women, Apple TV+’s latest six episode dramedy starring Eva Longoria, offers just that, a light, breezy, and picturesque journey through a Spanish village, tinged with modern sensibilities, emotional entanglements, and that ever present whisper of escapism.
I binged the entire season over the weekend, and the moment the credits rolled on the final episode, I found myself furiously Googling whether a second season was in the works. That rarely happens with me. But there’s something about Land of Women, maybe it’s the sunshine soaked backdrop of northern Spain, or maybe it’s the way the series soaks in both drama and humor without ever becoming too heavy handed that left me wanting more.
Let’s get one thing out of the way! Land of Women is far from perfect. In fact, it walks a pretty wobbly line between charming and cliche. But it knows exactly what it is! A visual retreat wrapped around a modern day family drama. And for six episodes, it offers just enough storytelling, character intrigue, and visual delight to keep you immersed.
I’ve been a fan of Eva Longoria since her Desperate Housewives days, and her charisma continues to shine here. She plays Gala, a glamorous New York woman who’s forced to flee her upscale life and her husband’s financial mess and retreat to Spain with her mother and teenage daughter. It’s a classic “Fish Out Of Water” premise, but Longoria plays Gala with just the right mix of sass and vulnerability. She’s relatable and likable, even when the script doesn’t give her much to work with.
There’s also a refreshing softness to her performance here, a maturity that feels earned. Her chemistry with the rest of the cast especially Santiago Cabrera, who plays the handsome local with a twinkle in his eye, keeps the show grounded. Yes, both Longoria and Cabrera are ridiculously good looking, and yes, their dynamic is fairly predictable, but hey, we’re not watching this for plot twists, we’re here for vibes, and those two deliver.
If there’s one thing Land of Women gets absolutely right, it’s the setting. This series feels like a six episode travel brochure for rural Spain and I mean that as a compliment. The cobbled streets, the rustic houses, the vineyards bathed in golden light, it’s all lovingly shot, as though the cinematographer were trying to convince us to pack our bags and relocate immediately.
And you know what ? It works. There’s an almost dreamlike quality to the way the show captures small town life, neighbors chatting across balconies, leisurely walks through the square, dinners that stretch into midnight. Deep down, there’s a part of us that longs for this kind of simplicity you know ? to drop everything, move to a vineyard, and drink wine with the people we love ✨
That fantasy is what Land of Women taps into. It may be light on plot, but it’s heavy on atmosphere, and it paints that “What If” scenario we all flirt with at some point in our lives.
As charming as the series can be, it stumbles when it comes to storytelling. The plot is thin, and the writing doesn’t always flow. There are moments when it feels like the script is pulling ideas out of a hat, like it’s not quite sure whether it wants to be a heartfelt drama, a quirky comedy, or a social commentary.
The transitions between storylines are often abrupt, and some characters feel more like cardboard cutouts than actual people. You can feel the potential in almost every scene, but it’s rarely fully realized. It’s frustrating because the core premise, three generations of women rebuilding their lives in a small town is rich with dramatic and comedic opportunities. But instead of leaning into the emotional depth or even the humor that could come from cultural clash, the show often meanders.
Still, the show remains watchable, mostly thanks to the actors who do a great job with what they’re given. Longoria aside, Carmen Maura as Gala’s feisty mother is an absolute delight, delivering sass and wisdom in equal measure.
Now, let’s talk about what didn’t quite sit right, the subplot involving Gala’s teen daughter, Kate. It’s clear the show wanted to reflect contemporary issues around gender and sexuality, and that’s commendable. But the way it’s introduced feels jarring and performative 😑. Kate’s exploration of her identity, particularly the lesbian trans angle, feels less like a natural character arc and more like a checklist item for inclusivity.
To be clear, representation is important, it should be normalized. But it needs to feel organic, especially in a show that’s otherwise about emotional honesty and personal reinvention. Here, the relationship between Kate and her friend feels unnecessarily sexualized, as though the writers didn’t trust the audience to value deep female friendships unless romance was involved. Can teenage girls not just be best friends anymore ?
I found myself asking, why couldn’t the most meaningful part of Kate’s arc be about rediscovering trust or self worth, themes that align more with the show’s overarching tone rather than a seemingly forced romance ? It’s not about being conservative, it’s about authenticity. And in a show that’s otherwise so grounded in a sense of place and emotional realism, this subplot stuck out.
Despite its flaws, Land of Women still worked for me. Because while the storytelling might be inconsistent and the social commentary clunky, the emotional undercurrent is sincere. It’s a show about starting over, about running away and finding yourself in the least expected of places. It’s about love, romantic, familial, platonic and how it can sprout in unlikely soil.
And let’s be honest here we’ve all fantasised about disappearing from our chaotic lives and settling into a charming village somewhere far away. Gala does what we don’t dare to do, she runs, she resets, she reconnects. That fantasy alone is enough to carry the series through its weaker moments.
Final Thoughts: Worth the Watch ?
Absolutely! if you know what you’re getting into.
Land of Women isn’t going to blow your mind with groundbreaking storytelling. It’s not trying to reinvent television. But it will make you smile. It’ll make you sigh at the scenery. It’ll remind you of the warmth of shared meals, the possibility of second chances, and the magic of getting lost in a new place.
Eva Longoria is easy to root for, Santiago Cabrera brings the charm, and the supporting cast, especially the elder women in the village add depth and colour to the narrative. It’s six episodes of light hearted escapism, wrapped in a warm Mediterranean breeze.
Would I watch Season 2 ? In a heartbeat, mostly because it ended in a cliffhanger 🙃 Do I hope they iron out the writing kinks and focus more on organic storytelling in the next chapter ? Absolutely.
Until then, I’ll be sipping my wine, imagining a tiny Spanish village of my own, where the sun always sets golden, the drama is just enough to keep things interesting, and life, for once, feels just a little bit slower.

Have A Great Day!
Hello movie lovers, and members of the Cinetv community. It's a good day for us to discuss about some classic old movies that we have watched, but before I do that, I will tell you how I ended up picking this classic animation.
The truth is that this animated movie was released a long time ago, and it wasn't as popular as other animated movies, but people who watch classics and have been watching movies for a very long time will know this movie.
Over The Hedge was released in 2006, which is why many people born after that year or a year before it was released might not know the movie, but the movie is a classic movie.
It tells a story about redemption, trust, family, care, animal extinction, and climate change. You might be wondering how a single movie can pass so many messages, but trust me, Over the Hedge did justice to passing all these messages.
It was last week Friday, after I was done with all my jobs, I decided to take a break and watch a movie. The channel I switched to was about to start a new movie, and when I checked the name, the title was "Over the Hedge"
This was a movie I had seen before; in fact, I only saw it once, but I remember watching it, so I decided to watch it over again, and this time it felt like I was just watching it for the first time again.
The storyline about Over the Hedge was about a raccoon who went to steal from a bear, but in the process of doing that, everything he wanted to steal got destroyed. The Bear caught the Raccoon, but he promised to bring everything back within a week. One of its searches to get everything that was destroyed, he came across a family of animals who have been living together to survive both the summer and winter.
This group of animals has no idea about the outside world, nor have they seen anything outside that small habitat they have been living in, but after the winter was over, they saw that the forest was gone and human had built different houses on their land.
Now, while they were still confused, the raccoon made his way, promising to explain everything and showing them how to get food from the humans. Meanwhile, the raccoon was doing this because he had no family of his own; he wanted to use the set of this animal family to gather all the food he stole and destroy it for the bear so the bear won't kill him.
In the end, after they had gathered everything, the secret got leaked, the bear got his food back, and the human captured the animals while they were trying to escape back into the forest. The raccoon was the only one that escaped, but will he go back for his newfound family, or will he find a new home, far away from the bear?
All these are in the movie, and I can promise you that when you watch it, you will understand why I said it was a classic. I would rate it a 7.5/10. It wasn't bad and not extremely good, I would still recommend it for anyone who loves animated movies.
You must have watched many mystery movies by now. I have also watched several, but there are very few movies that completely shock you, leaving you wondering what just happened. After watching such a movie, you’re so shaken that you’re at a loss for words. If you want to watch a mystery movie that shocks you, leaves you speechless, and keeps you thinking about what actually happened, I will tell you about such a movie that I watched yesterday. It was suggested by a friend.
They told me it’s a very good movie. It has an IMDb rating of 8.3, given by over 234,000 people. I thought it would be a good movie, something different. But I didn’t know how different and how good it would be. Like always, while watching the movie, I thought I’d figure everything out. You probably think the same, that this movie can’t shock you. But this one truly shocked me.
Basic Storyline
Talking about the basic story, it revolves around two siblings whose mother passes away one day. After her death, when she is buried in a grave, there is no headstone. A man, whom you can consider a manager, tells them that their mother left two letters—one for the father and one for the son. He informs them that they need to find out about their father and that they also have a brother. This comes as a huge shock to them because they had never heard anything about their father or known they had a brother.
To fulfill their mother’s last wish, they travel to a Gulf country, as that’s where their mother’s history began. Where did their brother go, about whom they know nothing? Is he their elder brother? Who is their father? These are the things you need to see in this movie. The movie starts as an ordinary one, but as it progresses, one thing after another unfolds, and it drops such a bombshell that you’re left speechless. You’ll have no words to describe what just happened.
You cannot watch this movie with your family. If you’re wondering whether you can watch it with family, the answer is no. It doesn’t have overly objectionable content, but you still realize what’s going on. That’s why you shouldn’t watch it with family. The movie is good, but it’s not available in Hindi, nor do I think it’s available in English. I had to watch it in French with subtitles. That’s not a big deal for me. I’ve watched many movies in Malayalam, Telugu, and other languages with subtitles. Sometimes, I understand the entire movie even without using subtitles.
I would like to highly praise the actors. Everyone has done a fantastic job, whether it’s the two children, their mother, or their brother. Each one’s acting is outstanding. Speaking of the story, I found it very good and well-written. The way suspense is maintained in the movie, the way it’s presented and directed, is also very impressive. Technically, the movie is excellent too.
That’s why I would definitely recommend this movie to all of you. If you want to watch something explosive and don’t trust me, trust the 8.3 rating given by over 234,000 people. You will definitely find something unique and mind-blowing in this movie.
