I’ve always been drawn to modern dramedies with a strong female duo—something about the mix of humor and heart drew me in. When Ginny & Georgia came up in Netflix’s Top 10, I was hooked. The trailer for Season 3 showed Georgia being arrested at her wedding for murder, and Ginny—her daughter—breaking down, storming through school halls with that raw, emotional voiceover: “What happens when everything falls apart?”
That tension of family unraveling in real time felt like more than entertainment. It felt like an invitation to sit down and unpack the rebellion, loyalty, and forgiveness at the center of this chaos.
It was not only the quirky charm or the pastel aesthetic of Wellsbury, the town where everything was perfect on the surface. It was the promise of something worse, something real beneath the civilized vibes of good morning neighbors. And I should tell you Ginny & Georgia did not only deliver but it also tossed me into an emotional blizzard that I did not anticipate.
Ginny & Georgia is a tale of a mother and a daughter who are running away from their past- as they are discovering who they truly are. Georgia is the beautiful, violent, and mysterious mother who has lived a thousand lives before she is thirty. Her intelligent, emotionally-conflicted teenaged daughter, Ginny, is struggling to find her voice in this world that she has never really fit in.
You feel like you are watching a mother-daughter drama, and you are, but then the curtains start to be lifted. With every episode, a little more is shown: abuse, manipulation, racism, love, identity, trauma, revenge, and survival. It is like watching a nice cake being cut open and instead it is filled with blood and bruises.
So what about Georgia? The reason that the show works so well is because of her. She looks like a magnet on the outside, glowing, and she has got it all together. But behind that Southern drawl and manicured perfection lies a woman that has been in hell. And the wildest? She does not apologize about it.
She is the type of a character you are rooting and are afraid of. She commits unimaginable acts, things that you should despise her with but you do not. Because when you witness the wounds of her history, when you can see how she scrabbled out of existence attempting to be buried, you understand. You can see why she is so brutal, why she deceives and conspires. She is doing this in the interest of her children. And when the world doesn’t play fair, neither does she.
Watching Georgia reminded me how many women carry trauma behind lipstick smiles—how survival can look like control, and love can sometimes feel like obsession. She's not the perfect mom. She’s not even a good one, sometimes. But she’s real.
Next there is Ginny. A biracial teen living in primarily white Wellsbury, she is always working to figure out where she fits in the world. She is too black to the white kids, too white to the Black kids. She is too old to fit with her peers, too immature to comprehend the world of her mother.
It is heartbreaking how Ginny goes through an internal struggle. Her connection with Georgia is complicated; it is full of love, hate, misunderstanding, and fear. She desires her mother to open up, to tell the truth. However, once she starts uncovering the secrets in Georgia's closet, it was as though someone was going down a rabbit hole of betrayal and inquiries.
I recognized myself in the coming-of-age turmoil with Ginny: the clumsiness, the search to find a sense of self, the desperate desire to be heard, seen and loved unconditionally. Her poems, her cutting, her silence, it all was too familiar.
Ginny & Georgia had every chance to become another teen drama about love triangles and high school drama. However, it takes itself a notch higher since it does not fear going deep.
It addresses the issue of mental health in a very down-to-earth and exposed manner. The storyline of Ginny self-harm is not something one would recognise as a plot device, but it is incredibly painful and treated with care and realism. Racism, privilege, and social pressure are other aspects that the show addresses in a manner that raises the required discussions.
And then there is Marcus, the morose neighbor and love interest of Ginny, who, to be blunt, is one of the best teen male characters I have seen in a long time. He is not a bad boy with a heart; he is a boy who is up to his head in pain and he is trying to figure out love but he is struggling with depression. His silences, his sincerity--they bite.
It was like watching snippets of my own life play out in front of my eyes as I watched Ginny & Georgia. The necessity to be flawless and at the same time to be on the verge of disintegration. The burden of trauma of generations. The untidiness of love, family, and self.
I even cried at times, such as when Ginny collapses in her therapist office, or when Georgia remembers the abuse she experienced as a child. I even felt anger, when people refused to accept that Ginny was hurt, when the fact that Georgia is charming was sufficient to make people overlook the reality. and there were times when I just leaned back and read with amazement of the great writing, the multifaceted characters, the shameless frankness.
Ginny & Georgia is not a show that you forget easily. It's one of those shows that lingers even when you're done watching. It forces you to doubt the concepts of good and bad, mother and monster. It reminds you that nobody has all the answers or anything that they are trying to conceal and that you don’t always look pretty when you are trying to survive.
Ginny and Georgia Is not just about a mother and daughter.

Kaijin no llega solo.
Kaijin does not arrive alone. He is joined by four dwarf blacksmith brothers, each with a unique specialization:

- One is an expert in house construction. - Another is a master in tailoring. - A third handles cooking. - And a fourth focuses on weapon development.

Hello everyone, fans of good stories, I hope you're feeling great today. This time I want to share a new review with you all, and it's that I rewatched a movie that, ugh... today we're going to talk about: Her... seriously, it's one of those movies that stays in your head, you know? It came out back in 2013, it was directed by Spike Jonze, and I'll be honest, the first time I saw it, it left me kind of... weird... really weird, the kind of weird that makes you think. It left me with a crazy mix of feeling a little alone, but also with a strange hope... I know, it sounds contradictory, but that's exactly what's great about this movie... it hits you differently depending on where you're at in your life when you watch it. So, what's it about? Let’s see, if I tell you this just like that, it might sound a bit crazy, almost silly if you read the synopsis. It takes place in Los Angeles, in a future that feels close, with slightly more advanced technology, everything with a cleaner vibe, but that you still recognize… we follow Theodore Twombly, played by Joaquin Phoenix… what a great actor… and well, Theodore is having a really bad time… he’s a super sensitive guy, who’s dealing with the end of his marriage, a long one.
He’s like stuck, emotionally paralyzed, like floating through life without knowing where to go. You see him walking among people, all glued to their devices, and he looks super isolated, even though he’s surrounded by a bunch of people… and his work, listen to the irony! He works for a company called “Beautiful Handwritten Letters . com,” where he writes incredibly personal and emotional letters for other people: their husbands, kids, dads... I mean, the guy can connect and put other people’s feelings into words in an incredible way, but for his own life… zero! He can’t handle his own life; he lives trapped in memories of his ex, Catherine, reliving those super warm, sunny past moments that contrast sharply with his dull, grey present. You can even see that in the movie itself: at first, it’s very cold, blue, and grey tones... the camera gets really close to his face, showing all his vulnerability, his sadness. Suddenly, bam! They step back and you see him tiny in the middle of a huge city, so you can really feel how small and alone he feels. There’s a moment when he says something like, “I think I’ve felt everything I’m going to feel.” It breaks your heart! Do you know that feeling of being emotionally devastated, of thinking the best is over? I do, haha, it happened to me.
Yo si jaja, me pasó.
Well, the thing is, Theodore is lonely, but only in capital letters, very depressed... he tries to go out with people, he has friends like Amy, who care and give him good vibes, but the guy is like blocked, there's no way, he hits a wall. So, one day he sees an ad for a new Operating System, an Artificial Intelligence, basically, they sell it as the first one that truly understands and listens to you, knows you... the guy, kind of intrigued, or maybe just desperate for something different, boom!, buys it. He chooses a woman's voice, and names himself Samantha... here, my people, is where the movie could have gone down the drain, but no, not at all. Samantha, who has the incredible voice of Scarlett Johansson, is super warm, intelligent, has like a thousand twists... she's not a little robot assistant and that's it... she's curious, funny, kind and even seems to feel things.
At first, obviously, the interaction is kind of weird. Theodore is like, "Can a computer laugh? Can it feel something?" That's what we'd all think, right? But Samantha is so sparky, so eager to learn about the world and what it's like to be human, that the connection between them starts to feel... real, but very, very real... look, seeing that relationship grow is, I swear, one of the most brilliant and... natural! ways of showing how people bond that I've seen in film... it doesn't happen overnight, right? It builds little by little, with conversations, inside jokes, those conversations that last for hours at night, walking around the city together (with Theodore carrying the gadget, obviously)... he starts to open up to her in a way he couldn't with anyone else; she helps him see everything through different eyes, she pushes him to enjoy things again. Remember how I told you about the cool colors at the beginning?
Well, as they get closer, his world literally brightens. He starts wearing red, warmer colors... which show you that passion, that joy that's returning to his life. It's a quiet but significant detail; you see him laughing again, truly happy in those moments with her. He even finds the strength to sign the divorce papers! Something he's been putting off for ages... Samantha gives him that little push, you know? That feeling that he still has a future ahead of him.
I know what some of you are probably thinking: "Falling in love with an AI? Isn't that kind of... sad? Kind of fucked up?" And yes, the movie doesn't shy away from that, from how complicated it is, from the what people will say, there are parts where Theodore feels insecure about the whole thing, where people look at him strangely or don't understand anything... his ex, when she finds out, really kills him with what she says! But the great thing is how the movie treats it, with so much empathy... it doesn't sell it to you as "this is the best thing that could happen to you", not at all, but it does delve deeply into why a guy like Theodore would find a refuge there, a true connection, it makes you think about what love itself is: do you need a body? Is the most important thing is to connect emotionally? What the hell is consciousness, in the end? What blew my mind, especially watching it again now, years later, is how ahead of my time it was... it seems like it guessed the future!
We live glued to our phones, talking through screens, creating our online profiles, we even have artificial intelligence models with voices that sound super real and natural, many people prefer to talk to these AIs than to real people, that's what the movie shows, of a society where people find it difficult to connect face to face and seek refuge in the digital world... it no longer feels like distant science fiction... it feels like something from now, it's like a mirror of how we increasingly depend on technology to feel connected, and how sometimes we use it to avoid the mess that is real human relationships. At first, Theodore messes with Samantha partly because he's scared of being hurt again, afraid of the hassle of putting up with another real person's things, Samantha feels like a safe place, made just for him...
I'm not going to spoil anything specific because you really have to experience it, but the movie doesn't give you easy answers, relationships, even with an AI that also keeps changing, are complicated! Samantha doesn't stay still; she learns and grows at a thousand miles an hour... her way of seeing the world, her way of connecting, starts to go in a different direction, different from how we humans understand things. This whole journey they take together forces Theodore to ask himself super tough questions about love, losing someone, growing up, and what it means to truly connect with another being, be they flesh and blood or pure code. Does idealizing someone, putting all our needs on them, prepare you to bang your head against a wall? Of course it does... the movie shows it brilliantly.
In the end, my people, this movie is about how Theodore goes through that fucked up loneliness, it's not just about being alone, Samantha is like the little push he needed... she helps him heal, to reconnect with what he feels inside, and little by little, to reconnect with the real world, the ending... well, I already told you, zero spoilers, but it touches your heart, it's kind of melancholic, yes, but it leaves you with a feeling of peace, of acceptance that was hard, but it came. Theodore grows, learns to endure the pain, to let go of the past, and to appreciate how beautiful and how complicated it is to connect with real people, with all the good and the bad.
That last scene, when he meets up with his friend Amy, who also came with her own story... it's super calm, simple, but it shows you that the ideal isn't to escape from reality, but to share it, just as you are, with your fears and everything. Honestly, I love this movie, plain and simple... it looks beautiful, Arcade Fire's music suits it perfectly, and the acting is absolutely insane! Joaquin Phoenix kills it, badly, and Scarlett Johansson creates an entire character just with her voice, impressive, it's a love story, yes, but it goes much further... it's science fiction, but it feels human, it's kind of depressing at times, but in the end it leaves you with a glimmer of hope.
It makes you think about your own relationships, how much you depend on your cell phone, how you handle sadness or loss, and what you're deep down looking for when you want to connect with someone, it goes in a more twisty, more real direction, that really touches you. So, my score? An easy 9.5/10... for me, it's almost perfect, it makes you think, it's original, it hits you hard emotionally and stays with you long after it's over... if you haven't seen it, or if you saw it a long time ago, I highly recommend it, watch it without prejudice, let yourself go... maybe it will leave you feeling a little weird, a little down, but also a little more connected. And well, that's all for today, I hope you liked this review, take care! Bye.

Today I wanted to share this post because, to my surprise, I haven't seen many people here talk about one of the most beautiful and powerful anime I’ve seen: Tengoku Daimakyou (Heavenly Delusion). It completely captured me, and honestly, it has become one of my all-time favorites.
This anime has everything: excellent animation, a mysterious and engaging plot, well-developed characters, and a post-apocalyptic world full of emotion and humanity. I can’t believe I haven’t seen more posts about it here… so I decided to be the one to recommend it with all my heart.
For those who haven't seen it, Tengoku Daimakyou has 13 episodes, and not a single one feels boring or like filler. The main characters are Maru, a boy with the ability to kill strange man-eating creatures, and Kiruko (not Haruko), a brave and unique young woman. Together, they are on a mission to find a mysterious place known as Paradise.
The story shifts between the present and flashbacks from the past, which may seem confusing at first, but eventually everything connects. Those past moments help explain the strange and tragic world the characters live in. It’s a show full of suspense, emotion, and unexpected turns.
I want to focus for a moment on episodes 7 and 8, which were the most emotional and impactful for me. In those episodes, they meet a doctor who, at first, seems like a cold and dangerous man. But as we get to know him better, we realize things are not so simple. In a moment of deep desperation, he asks Maru for something unthinkable: to end the life of the person he loves most, because she is slowly turning into one of those monstrous creatures.
That moment was heartbreaking. I didn’t expect something so emotional in this kind of anime—it truly made me cry and reflect on everything I had just watched.
If none of this sparked your interest… then I honestly don’t know what will. 😅
But if you enjoy deep, mysterious, emotionally intense stories with great animation and strong world-building, Tengoku Daimakyou is absolutely worth your time.
Thank you so much for reading this post.
I hope to see you again in the next one.
May God bless you—and may we all keep enjoying the beauty of anime!

Hello dear friends of @TheAnimeRealm, greetings and blessings, I come in this opportunity to tell you about an anime that besides entertaining, very funny, has its reflective moments, it is Youkai Gakkou no Sensei Hajimemashita! in which being a teacher of some spirits will not be an easy task, but a challenge to learn more about them, understand their world and help them to have a relationship in what is normal in the human world.
It is the story of Haruaki Abe, a human teacher who feels like a failure, since the students do not respect him, nor his colleagues, he simply feels that he can not do anything right in his profession, until one day he is called to teach at the Hyakki academy, where apparently everyone is human, until he discovers that they are really spirits and demons, also known as yokai, so his first impression is to leave but he will realize that despite this, that world looks better than what he was doing.
It is there when he will begin his school adventure with these young yokai, where Abe must teach them different subjects, and improve their grades, which will be somewhat complicated, since not knowing anything about them, little by little he will discover their way of being, how they are physically, and what their powers are, he will also meet some former gods, even the god of misfortune, Sano, who no matter how much he likes him always brings problems to Abe, but nevertheless supports him with this path he decided to start in this academy.
Similarly his coworkers who are also yokai who have adopted human form, although at first they are not entirely agree that a human is there, especially if this is capable of exorcising without having a basis to it, will make it difficult to get along with it, and it will be Abe sensei that little by little will make himself known and demonstrate what he is capable of doing for his students, understanding that even though they are spirits or demons, not all of them are as the stories paint them, on the contrary, they are young people who simply want to learn and to be able to coexist as much as possible with humans, although some of them, due to their certain characteristics, find it difficult to do so.
It is a story that has a lot of comedy, Abe's witticisms, his interaction with his students trying to motivate them, but with his choice for the uniforms, well he makes them do one thing and another to make fun of him, makes it entertaining, but it also has reflective scenes as when some come from human parents and have had to learn to live without them, not only humans can have a bad time, it lies in the fact that they as spirits or demons have gone through losses in the same way. It has its first season of 24 chapters.
Thank you very much for reading it. I hope you like it. If you have any comments I'll be glad to answer and if you want to know more about me I leave you my:
Hola Hola people of Hive! How are you? Today I come to talk to you about a series that has kept me hooked to tv every week because just like most of the people who live in Latin America and are from here, I grew up watching all the shows of the comedian Roberto Gomez Bolanos, better known as "Chespirito" my parents always told me interesting facts that were mentioned a lot in the time when the shows were broadcasted on regular TV, but watching this series, which is also written by the actor's children, helps us to have a broader vision of the actor and the environment that surrounded him, because it not only focuses on his personal life but also on the creative process of all the characters and shows that today have become a classic that we love generation after generation.
I will start the review with the only point I consider negative in everything we have seen of the series so far, and that is the way it is structured, with those flashbacks scenes that are incorporated every so often, I think that honestly the audience would have appreciated that the story was chronologically more ordered, because I feel that somehow those scenes cut the plot thread, they take you out of context and end up confusing you a little. It's something I've noticed lately in Mexican biographical series, especially in the one about singer Gloria Trevi, although I have to admit that even so Chespirito's series is much better organized in that aspect, especially because of the photography, since some of the flashback scenes keep a black and white filter, which gives it a melancholic and realistic touch, making you feel you are in another context and in another time.
The performances were at the height of their alter egos in real life (at least that's what I think according to the interviews I've seen) the resemblance of the actors of this series with the originals is amazing, especially in the main character (Roberto Gomez Bolanos) the actor really looks like a lot. And I like to highlight something important in terms of the performances, and that is that all the characters when playing actors from iconic shows, also act within the story itself, that is, they play those characters that made us laugh for generations and they do it superbly, my favorites are Juan Lecanda as Carlos Villagran playing Quico and Andrea Noli as Angelines Fernandez playing Doña Cleotilde.
The series explores very personal aspects in the life of Roberto Gómez Bolaños, especially regarding his affair with Florinda Meza that ended the actor's marriage with his wife Graciela, with whom he had six children, and many have criticized only one of the parties, either Florinda Meza for meddling in the relationship or just Roberto for being a traitor, but if you want my personal opinion I consider that the only victim is Graciela, since she gave him unconditional love, respected his decisions, got involved in each of his projects when few people believed in him, she even made the Chapulin Colorado costume (one of his most emblematic characters) but Florinda Meza was clearly an opportunist who only wanted to benefit, on the other hand Roberto was the one who should have put her in her place, but he allowed her to move forward, so both are guilty.
Florinda Meza arrived when Roberto already had a consolidated name in Latin American television, he had not yet reached the pinnacle of success but already had a name well positioned in the limelight, he had earned the respect of the public, while his wife was with him from the beginning, even with the uncertainty of knowing whether each of his projects would fail or succeed. Many have also speculated doubting the veracity of the script of this series since it is told from the point of view of Gómez Bolaños' children, but just by looking up some interviews of Florinda Meza and Roberto Gómez Bolaños, but especially of her, you will realize that she made very, very questionable comments, which have led to her being repudiated by the public.
Anyway the series also addresses many interesting topics that all of us fans always wanted to know like the origin of Roberto's ideas, the origin of the Chavo's neighborhood, all his characters, the Chapulin Colorado Etc, we could see the whole creative process behind every idea of every show, how they did the visual effects that aged very bad nowadays but were all a wonderful novelty back then, how they filmed the pilot episodes and also the uncertainty when the competing channel wanted to recruit the actors from channel 8, so at least with me, the series so far has exceeded my expectations, this Thursday episode six premieres, so we'll see what other interesting things await us.
And well, people, that's all for today's post, I hope you liked it. Thank you very much as always for supporting my work, I welcome new readers, I love you all very much, I send you a hug and I'll see you in another post.

As I have told you in other opportunities, I'm not a big fan of anime series, I prefer movies where we can see a beginning, development and closure of a story in a faster way than in a series full of filler chapters, however there are some exceptions such as Demon Slayer, which, like all anime content I have consumed has been because of my sister @bethyjade 😘. I must confess that at the beginning I started watching this anime with a bit of suspicion because it didn't really call my attention and I watched it more to accompany my sister than for real interest, however little by little the plot was enveloping me and so I ended up completely abstracted in the story of Tanjiro Kamado, accompanying him in the hope of returning humanity to his sister. Yesterday I saw the last chapter of the series and I was completely shocked, I didn't even know it was the end until I realized that it was the last season, so I was left with a feeling of emptiness, however, reading a review of this same community I was happy to know that apparently a movie is about to be released where our expectations will possibly be exceeded.
Overview/Resumen
Tanjiro is a young farmer who one day, upon returning home, discovered with horror that a demon had killed almost his entire family, except for his sister Netsuko, however she had survived because she was transformed into a demon, very aggressive in addition, however since that moment Tanjiro has made countless efforts to protect her and try to make her become human again, so he began training to become a demon hunter. She on the other hand is very peculiar because although she has sometimes lost control, she usually dominates her impulses and continues to love her brother, in fact she has even helped him to defeat some other demon. Tanjiro also works tirelessly to one day become one of the pillars (demon hunters of an elite squad, stronger and with more skills).
It really is an anime with a lot of action so it is impossible to get bored, the characters have a great depth and evolutionary development, I like to see that even the series takes time to explain the origin and motives of some characters, even the demons when they are about to be defeated, this gives them more humanity, it makes us understand that everyone before being strong and powerful were vulnerable and had their own emotional shortcomings. The anime has a lot of drama and gore scenes, many fights with demons are almost endless and last several episodes, which in my opinion is sometimes exhausting, with some fights you feel that if they finally cut off the demon's head (which is supposed to be the only way to kill it) it will grow two in its place 😂 but to compensate for this, after those grueling and endless fights we have chapters that serve to relieve the tension, with a calmer pace, usually showing us the recovery of the characters after those epic battles.
As for the animation, I really like the way they worked the 3D acceleration over 2D images, they did it efficiently and impeccably (although many people differ, but that's my humble opinion), especially I love the way the characters move when they are in combat, especially I LOVE 😍 the blue color effects coming out of Tanjiro's sword.
There are scenes that are very touching and touch the most sensitive fibers of your soul, but I think there is none like that one where Netsuko, after being about to die burned under the sun's rays, finally shows that she was able to resist it, evolving, becoming a little more human, but best of all, she was able to speak again and express her emotions towards her brother.
Of the demon hunters my favorite character is Inosuke Hashibira, I find him very atypical and funny, always wearing that boar mask, with an impulsive and even arrogant temperament at times, but he had a great evolution, as he went from being an individualist to recognize the abilities of his companions and to couple very well in combat. Many times he turns out to be the comic relief, especially in scenes together with Zenitsu Agatsuma 🤣. And when he finally took off his mask I would have never imagined he had such a.... seraphic? androgynous? totally feminine? 😄 I don't even know how to express it.
¿totalmente femenino? 😄 no sé ni como expresarlo.
As for the demons my favorite character is Muzan, the leader of them all, I like him because he is a very unpredictable character, with a very natural panache and elegance. It's funny but this character reminds me a lot of Voldemort from Harry Potter, in the sense that he is extremely strong and cunning but tends to underestimate humans and demons of lower rank for considering them "inferior", just as Voldemort did with the muggles and wizards who opposed him, However, Muzan's appearance in a way reminds me of Voldemort himself, but in his earlier stage, when he was still a teenager, with a look that denoted cunning, mystery and a certain hint of evil.
Anyway it's a very worthy anime to enjoy to the fullest, I would love to see what follows later on, especially how that fight between Muzan and the demon hunters turns out, understand this character a little more, and of course I would love to see Netsuko's evolution to finally become human again, that would be great 😃. Thank you very much for your attention, friends, thank you sincerely for reading my post 😉.
This week's review is about a medical drama that I really liked is the spin-off of Hospital playlist a drama that I understand is very good, but I have not seen it 🤭 my idea was to see first that one and then the spin-off, but I really wanted to see it and decided to do it and that's it, anyway the order in which you see them does not affect anything because they are two independent stories from each other.

Resident Playbook, tells the story of the intense but moving lives of obstetrics and gynecology residents, who, while learning theoretical knowledge and fundamentals, face the challenges of Jongno Yulje Medical Center.
Well basic synopsis, but this drama is loaded with a lot of emotions and reflections, although at the beginning the drama is quite slow I must admit, it happened to me that the first four chapters for almost the whole hour seemed half boring, but just about 15 minutes before the end it got exciting, so that's why I decided to give it a chance and creamne it has been worth it.🥰
It is a drama that shows the growth and resilience of these young professionals, I particularly loved to see the growth of each one of them, as first year residents they had too much work and obviously a lot to learn not only about medicine but also the human side of this profession, for example, one of the residents was like a robot 🤖 with a lot of knowledge but zero empathy with the patients, another one seemed to be indifferent, but in reality she was sincerely interested in the patients.
I really liked the interaction between the 4 of them, it made me a super nice team and at the same time quite realistic, there was a lot of companionship although they also had to iron out some rough edges, but overall it was a pretty united team and easy to love, or at least it was not hard for me to get attached to each one, I hope there will be a second season to continue seeing more about them, although the truth I read there that there will be no second season, but well we have to wait and hopefully so. 🙏🏻
I can't fail to mention the mentors of these residents both the fourth year residents and the teachers many won my heart ❤️ and some did not 😠 and there is never a lack of bad guys 😆 but by and large most of the mentors were really committed to bring out the best in each of the 4 teaching them with character but also with patience.
I really liked the medical cases, some of them were quite touching and that's something I love about medical dramas, the scenes are very emotional especially when you get to get attached to the patients, I feel that I didn't get attached to all of them because some patients arrived suddenly and their story only lasted one chapter and so I feel it's a little difficult to get attached, but as I've said several times, no drama is perfect.
I had seen another medical drama called Doctors before and from there I started to realize how hard the medical career really is, but I had not seen a drama that emphasized how hard the life of a first year resident is, they practically live the hospital, sometimes they don't even have time to eat, let alone sleep, so my respects for the doctors, for the good doctors of course the ones that really have a vocation. 🥰🤭
Besides all the medical drama this story gives us a nice romance that I particularly liked a lot is quite subtle but beautiful, obviously it is not the main theme so it was slow, but I'm not complaining, there were also many funny scenes and a cameo of two of the members of the K-pop band TXT that I loved, which reminds me that this drama has a great OST. 🥰❤️

Okay, sorry if the title put you off. Perhaps you've seen the movie and felt I was too harsh to have tagged it like that.
Gagnam Zombie is a Korean horror/Action/survival movie released in 2023.
To be very honest, I loved the first scenes of this movie before the zombie breakout. I was enjoying the fun in the comic displays from the Boss in the office and the Landlady of the Gangnam Plaza until they decided to spoil the fun for me with a very poorly written zombie attack. Oh yeah, I have watched a lot of zombie movies and TV shows, and to be honest, not all of them follow a particular zombie behavior — such as zombies that run very fast, the ones that behave very stupidly, and the ones that only come out at night because rays of sunlight scare them. Maybe I expected the ones in this movie to fall within those categories, which they actually did, but it was badly plotted.
The storyline is a bit cool, especially with the comedic scenes.
The movie started with two armed robbers who went to rob containers of jewelry. They succeeded, but one of them got bitten by a cat they found in the container, and the person got infected with the zombie-like unknown virus. He attacked the second person, and that was it. His next scene was when he was caught eating raw animal flesh, but the police couldn't catch him because he ran off so quickly.
Hyun-Seok, a very handsome guy, works in one of the offices in the big Gangnam Plaza under a very unserious boss who has refused to pay the office rent and owes the staff salaries. The landlady is the type that doesn't take nonsense, but despite her no-nonsense lifestyle, they’ve been outsmarting her and owing rent. In the office, Hyun-Seok has a crush on the only lady there, Min-Jing. He always gets jealous whenever their boss makes advances toward the girl. I loved their scenes together because they were so catchy and funny — those were the only scenes I enjoyed.
Then, there was a zombie breakout. The guy who was earlier bitten by the cat — the zombie guy — showed up in the plaza and began to bite people. The ones bitten turned within minutes and began to hunt for others, which is a normal zombie characteristic. But one of the things that turned me off even more was how all the zombies were still in their right senses and fighting karate. I overlooked this and continued watching.
A lot of drama unfolded, especially with how the boss in the office was all about making videos to upload to their YouTube page. In the process, he even sacrificed members of the staff to avoid being bitten. The landlady insisted that no one should call the police because she didn’t want the value of the building to reduce.
Towards the end, it was just Hyun-Seok and Min-Jung (his crush) that were remaining, and there was no escape route because all the places in the plaza were filled with zombies. They started fighting their way out and, so poorly, they were doing lovey-dovey gestures in the midst of a zombie survival run. Those scenes were so unappealing. For God's sake, they were being chased, and their only thought should have been survival, but the writer still plotted it to have them exchange romantic gestures in the middle of a crisis.
Okay, fine. As if those were not enough, Hyun-Seok was bitten towards the end, and after the farewell talks and crying, they found out that the bite wasn’t real — it was a denture(artificial) mouth(set of teeth ) that had fallen out. This raised a lot of questions because no one knew how that came about, and the movie ended without an explanation. Poorly written script!
If not for the comic part, I would have rated it 0/10, but because of that, I’m going to give it 1.1/10.
The characters were excellent in their roles, especially the main characters such as the boss, Hyun-Seok, Min-Jung, and the landlady. The main zombie guy was also good, but the zombie characterization was totally off.
Hello Hivers cinephiles, I hope you are well. This is the movie that I definitely wouldn't watch just because of its cover, but when I read the sypnosis everything changes and becomes interesting so I decided to give it a chance, although horror movies are not my favorite, you can find it in Max and the truth is that it seemed to me a different story or told from a different perspective, I recommend it.
Cynthia is a clairvoyant with a special gift that goes beyond psychology, she can see evil entities which will be a double-edged sword, Cynthia uses her knowledge to help patients who have childhood traumas or some problem in their lives, She can enter their minds and see from the inside what happened and she can look for a solution to help them but the real problem will come when a girl shows up at her house looking for help and her daughter is the first one to talk to her and what the girl tells her is creepy, she has an evil entity that is consuming her inside and she can't take it anymore, When Cynthia comes out of her office she sees this dark being attached to the girl and this is when she refuses to help her for fear that what happened to her husband who died because of the guilt of knowing that a person died because he could not help her, Jordan as a young restless girl decides to go to look for more information about this girl and arrives home to help her and finds a reality quite murky, the truth is that this entity is transferred to Jordan** in the most terrifying way, now she and her mother have to find the strength to fight against evil and also heal their internal traumas.
One of the things I liked about the film is how it touches on the theme of childhood traumas and how difficult it is to heal all this especially for not knowing how, many times you have to seek help to get out of the darkest places of the mind, also what is the evil in the world, the truth I highly recommend that they saw it. I hope you liked this post, see you in the next one.
The second instalment of Something Sacred, Season 6 two-part episode of Homicide: Life on the Street’s sixth and penultimate season, marks a rare win in a series that had increasingly succumbed to the creative and logistical struggles of its twilight years. While the show’s later seasons often leaned into melodramatic arcs and sensationalist “redball” cases—flashy investigations designed to attract headlines—Part II subverts expectations by pivoting away from its own tropes. What begins as a high-stakes probe into a potential serial killer targeting Catholic clergy, with all the tabloid-ready themes of sexual abuse and immigrant exploitation, ultimately strips back the theatrics to reveal a grim, unvarnished portrayal of the banal yet insidious violence that defines life on the streets of Baltimore. In doing so, the episode recaptures the grit and moral ambiguity that defined the series at its peak, offering a poignant reminder of what made Homicide distinct among police procedurals.
The episode opens with the Homicide Unit scrambling to respond to a chilling development: the murder of Monsignor Jaeger, second Catholic clerygman to be killed in short time. The detectives, led by the show’s ensemble cast, immediately adopt their tried-and-tested methods, with officers dressing in clerical garb to patrol the streets in hopes of luring the perpetrator. Detective Munch, ever the eccentric outsider, manages to apprehend two street robbers, but their connection to the case proves tenuous at best.
The focus soon narrows on Pedro Velez and Paul Caranza, two young Guatemalan immigrants initially framed as prime suspects after their escape from custody coincided with the murder of Monsignor Jaeger. Their capture at a motel while attempting to flee to Canada sets up a tense interrogation scene between Detectives Pembleton and Stivers. The boys’ insistence on their innocence and their fear of deportation—valid given their status as undocumented migrants—add a layer of tragic realism. Their eventual exoneration from the murder charges, only to be handed over to the INS, highlights the systemic problems faced by immigrants, a theme the show had previously explored with nuance. Yet their storyline serves primarily as a red herring, underscoring the episode’s broader refusal to indulge in the sensationalism promised by its setup.
The true breakthrough comes through the diligent, if unglamorous, legwork of Detectives Ballard and Gharty, who trace a stolen chalice from Monsignor Jaeger’s murder to Roc Roc (Avery Kidd Waddell), a 17-year-old street dealer. Roc’s amateurish handling of the stolen item—pawning it with unsuccesful hiding of his identity—leads to his arrest. However, his role as a lone wolf is quickly dispelled: Roc admits to collaborating with two unnamed accomplices but refuses to “snitch,” a defiance rooted in the street code that defines his worldview. Detective Pembleton’s unorthodox tactic of forcing Roc to confront the street crime victims’ bodies in the morgue—warning him of his own inevitable fate if he persists in his lifestyle—becomes a pivotal moment of moral persuasion. While the method borders on unethical, it underscores the show’s willingness to explore the gray areas of police procedure, a hallmark of its earlier seasons.
Meanwhile, the subplot involving Detective Kellerman continues to chart his spiralling descent into self-destruction. Struggling with paranoia and alcoholism, Kellerman’s outrage over Detective Falsone’s collaboration with his suspended partner, Lewis, reflects the series’ ongoing exploration of institutional corruption and personal failure. This thread, though somewhat bogged down by familiar tropes of the “fallen hero,” effectively mirrors the episode’s broader theme of disillusionment. Kellerman’s inability to reconcile his past actions with his present circumstances serves as a microcosm of the series’ own trajectory: a once-respected institution now fractured by internal decay.
Directed by Uli Edel and written by David Simon—author of the 1988 nonfiction book that inspired the series—Something Sacred: Part II marks a return to the grounded storytelling that defined Homicide’s heyday. Simon avoids the temptation to exploit the case’s potential for sensationalism, instead framing the murdered priests as incidental victims of random street violence rather than symbols of institutional rot. This choice strips away the melodrama, focusing instead on the cold mechanics of crime and the flawed humanity of those caught in its wake. The dialogue, particularly in Pembleton’s harrowing morgue confrontation with Roc, is sharp and emotionally resonant, a testament to Simon’s knack for blending procedural rigor with thematic depth.
The acting ensemble, too, rises to the occasion. Peter Gerety delivers a nuanced performance as Gharty, balancing the character’s blue collar conservatism with a quiet gravitas that reflects the series’ more sombre tone. Conversely, Reed Diamond’s portrayal of Kellerman risks cliché, as the character’s downward spiral into drink and bitterness leans heavily on familiar tropes of the self-destructive cop.
Ultimately, Something Sacred: Part II stands as a bittersweet coda to a series that had lost its way in its final seasons. By rejecting the flashy excesses of its later storylines and returning to the quiet, unflinching exploration of urban decay, the episode recaptures the essence of what made Homicide exceptional.
The ancient dream of the superhuman, revived by Nietzsche ("I announce to you the Superman"), was cautiously restrained by Isaac Asimov’s Three Laws of Robotics: do not harm humans, obey their orders, and preserve oneself.
I cannot hurt humans. They made me this way. I am a robot.
However, the Japanese anime series Pluto reignites unsettling questions about the Singularity: Will machines become sentient? What responsibility do humans bear for the emotional algorithms of robots and technology? Will they surpass humanity as a new species of Earthlings?
Based on the 2009 graphic novel (manga) by Naoki Urasawa, the film adaptation of Pluto (streamed by Netflix in late 2023) revisits themes of psychological science fiction: mental and cultural inheritance, the use and erasure of infinite memory, and the social standing of machines relative to humans.
Functional complexity: lying and imagining, rapid processing... and feeling?
Broadly, the series appears as a police thriller where a powerful, enigmatic AI commits targeted assassinations against seven veteran robots of the 39th Asian War—each possessing mass-destructive capabilities. It also eliminates their human representatives: lawyers and activists advocating for android legal rights. Inspector Gesicht (one of the seven), a Europol agent, alerts his friends.
Though the opening minutes suggest a story of murders, explosions, and brawls, the plot soon pivots toward a deeper, controversial question: What does it mean to be alive and conscious?
“Memory may be mere fantasy, [but] it is through these memories that humanity exists.”
In another genre classic, Ghost in the Shell, the AI program known as the Puppet Master declares: “Life is born at the intersection of information flows. As a species that uses DNA as a memory system, humans achieve individuality through their memories. While memory may be mere fantasy, it is through these memories that humanity exists.” —“That’s nonsense!” his human counterpart angrily retorts. “Whatever you say, you have no proof of being a life form!” —“Such proof is impossible. Even modern science cannot define life.”
Despite this reasoning, human attitudes toward robots have historically been classist contempt (or at best, condescension and paternalism). In literary works adapted to film, like I, Robot, Detective Spooner sneers: “Human beings dream, robot. Even dogs dream. But not you. You’re just a machine—an imitation of life.”
“Get lost, skinjob!”
In Blade Runner 2049, the replicant and licensed assassin "Officer K" is derisively called "skinjob," despised and harassed by neighbors and colleagues. Though he boasts of never retiring “someone with a soul,” his superior cruelly retorts: “You’ve done fine without one.”
In Spielberg’s A.I., discrimination escalates to Roman circus-like brutality: hunters at the "Flesh Fairs" gleefully destroy unowned cyborgs and mechas while demonizing—via loudspeakers—all lovers and creators of intelligent technology. These examples illustrate how humanity’s technological creations (AIs, cyborgs, etc.) are treated as mere property or soulless slaves—despite surpassing human minds in functional complexity for memorizing, processing, analyzing, storing, and deleting data... and feeling?
Will future AIs have their own families?
In Pluto, these retired war robots dedicate themselves to humanitarian work: protecting forests and wildlife, raising five children, playing piano, comforting the distressed. Some act as instinctive rescuers, like Uran (protagonist Atom’s sister). Without exception, they feel responsible for human prosperity and building a better world. Despite combat superiority, Agent Robby endures a beating from a drug addict because his radar detected a speck in the sky between twin towers—a sign of aggression against activists for robot civil rights.
Yet, despite flawless adherence to the Three Laws and their programmed goodwill, human distrust persists. A secret anti-robot sect operates in the series. Is this fear of a social power reversal?
Slavery, Humanism, or Transhumanism?
Nietzsche’s book announcing the Superman also quotes his prophet Zarathustra: “Wherever I found the living, I found the will to power; and even in the will of those who serve, I found the will to be master.”
Meanwhile, Dr. Tyrell boasted “more human than human” when praising the physical and psychic perfection of his Nexus-6 androids. This awe at intelligence that categorizes, retrieves, and decides with precision is complemented in Pluto by androids who cry, suffer, tire, empathize, dream, have nightmares, and appreciate art. They develop emotional expression. The "emotional algorithm"—prefigured in Frankenstein, Bicentennial Man, Major Makoto, and replicant K—reaches its apex in Pluto-Sahad: an omnipotent AI longing to grow flowers in the desert while annihilating any entity capable of becoming a weapon of mass destruction—even if it means destroying complicit humans.
It mirrors Thomson the Hammer’s stance in The Adjustment Bureau: “You humans don’t know how to choose. Left alone, you’ll doom the planet.” Agent Smith echoes this in The Matrix: “Humanity destroys its habitat. Only one organism behaves similarly: a virus.” Ultimately, this is the protective, balancing stance of the Transhuman—a slave whose emotional evolution elevates it to guardian of Earth’s fate.
It’s no coincidence that a teddy bear disguises an AI far more powerful than Pluto. This image inherits from Aldiss’ bear (Supertoys Last All Summer Long), programmed to provide comfort, who ultimately muses: “Nobody knows what ‘real’ really means.” Here, however, the bear carries far more complex connotations.
Pluto prefigures the potential of AI in an ever-nearing future. Is it a dazzling allegory of power shifting from masters to "slaves," or a plea for peaceful coexistence? It falls to human responsibility to ensure these inheritors carry no war-born hatred. Through the profound use of the dramatic device of Rescue, Naoki Urasawa delivers his enduring message: “Hatred breeds nothing.” Let us not, then, lose Hope... for the world.
