Hello, lovers of comfortable armchairs, air conditioning, food, and good television.
Today I present a series that hooked me from the very beginning and that I couldn't stop watching until I had exhausted all the episodes. It's called “Mobland.”

Mobland tells a story that breaks with the conventional norms established in film and television about the mafia, moving away from the mystique that often surrounds the story and its characters, as well as its almost idealization of organized crime.
Mobland places us in a world where those who were once legends are now aging, where respect is everything and nothing at the same time, and where power is obtained by spilling blood.
It features action, drama, explicit violence, dark humor, and shouting at the screen due to the characters' actions. Madness and secrets emerge like “bombs under the carpet.”
This series, consisting of only 10 episodes, introduces us to the controversial, visceral, and disastrous, nuclear bomb-level chaos that is the Harrigan family, a criminal family, leaders of organized crime, and number one at making enemies. The Harrigan family is at open war with another criminal family, the Stevensons, over the desire to destroy each other and gain control of everything.

The Harrigan family is led by its patriarch, Irishman Conrad Harrigan, a cruel and evil man who runs the business with an iron fist, surrounded by a family that drives him crazy. Despite his advanced age, he believes he still inspires the same fear as before, and the audacity and brazenness he had in his youth do not seem to have diminished over the years. He is a human being who seems to thrive on disaster and enjoys being in the midst of chaos. At his side, as his wife, companion, and accomplice, is Maeve Harrigan, arrogant, cruel, and ruthless, who believes herself to be smarter than she really is and doesn't care who she has to eliminate to achieve her goals.

Unfortunately, this duo of lunatics had offspring who do not seem to have the same cold-bloodedness as them. Seraphina, Conrad's illegitimate daughter, whom he openly loves more than anyone else, is cunning and intelligent and lives off her father's favor, yet she has a good relationship with her brothers. Brendan, inept at business and overshadowed by his siblings, whose greatest desire is to sit at the table with the big boys and redeem himself in his father's eyes. And the youngest of the three, Kevin, who can't control his own family, just wants peace, although to achieve it he always needs to resort to the help of his friend Harry. Finally, there is Eddy Harrigan, Kevin's disastrous son, a potential psychopath who creates disasters just by breathing. As if he didn't have school to go to, his actions unleash a hurricane of chaos. Everything comes to a head when Richie Stevenson's son disappears and the last person to see him alive was Eddy.

As the first episode unfolds, one wonders how a family with such dysfunctional members has managed to stay alive and remain in the game. But above all, how have people like Conrad and Maeve Harrigan managed to grow old (I admit that after watching the first two episodes, I asked myself this question)? Three powerful words: Harry Da Souza. The protagonist and main attraction of this series, played by Tom Hardy, is a character who, as soon as you see him on screen, makes you wonder, “What the hell is a guy like him doing in a family like that?” Simple: first, he's Kevin's friend, and second, as he himself says, he's no Lionel Messi; he can't switch sides as easily as he can change his shirt, because the day they come after him, he knows it will only be “business.”
Harry is a kind of mediator, or rather “consigliere,” for the Harrigan family. He has the cunning, courage, and style necessary to be more than just the guardian of a criminal family. He fixes the messes of this rebellious family and sets the stage for each episode. Harry evokes the true figure of organized crime. His experience, charisma, and skill make him the “magic” of the series, while he has to deal with the chaos of others, solve it, and clean it up, so he never rests, because, in reality, the Harrigan family destroys with their feet what they build with their hands, and it seems that they step on all the landmines they find on purpose.

This series shows the harshness of the criminal world, with scenes of violence that show what life is like in a family dedicated to crime. The madness that some characters seem to harbor is surprising to see, and as the episodes progress, the secrets, deceptions, and buried dead of the Harrigan family seem to come to light. Thank goodness they have Harry, or who knows...
P.S.: This series was a huge success, so it was renewed for a second season.
I hope you liked this recommendation and are inspired to watch this great story!

So here we are again, another spin off from the John Wick universe and honestly I wasn't expecting much from this one, I'm not a negative guy but any other content related either TV series or sequels to the first movie has not been the best and at some point in time I thik many like me were thinking if action movies were exhausted just like what happen with Avengers a few years ago. I mean we have seen how these things can go wrong, remember that Continental show on Peacock that was just very meh, yes it had it few cool scenes but never had the same impact. Now Ballerina damn, Ballerina actually surprised the hell out of me and I'm not just saying that because I'm a sucker for good action movies and lets be honest with ourself, we dont watch action movies for the master mind plot development, thats for suspense and horror, action movies I consider need less detail plot so yes this movie does have it holes here and there and yes John look a bit Ai ish tbh. The story takes place between John Wick 3 and 4, which is smart timing if you ask me because it pull back viewers from the idea that John is gone for good, gives them room to play around without messing up the main storyline too much. Anna de Armas plays Eve, this ballerina assassin who seek revenge against the people who killed her dad when she was just a kid, pretty standard revenge plot but executed way better than I thought it would be. The movie starts with little Eve witnessing her father's murder by Gabriel Byrne's character, the Chancellor, who runs this cult like organization that's basically the opposite of what the Ruska Roma stands for. Instead of having some honor code like Anjelica Huston's group, these assholes just kill for sport, which sets up a nice contrast between the two organizations, you will see how an entire town is basically a guerilla where every soccer mom carries an R15 in the back of the Van. What really got me hooked was how they handled Eve's training, they don't try to make her this superhuman fighter who can take down guys twice her size without breaking a sweat, in fact she gets beaten or worst than John during some of the movies so its refreshing seen the main character get beaten so badly. The trainers literally tell her "you gotta fight like a girl" which sounds bad but actually makes perfect sense, she's smaller and weaker so she needs to be smarter, dirtier, more creative with her approach.
