Hello everyone! The manga I am going to talk about today is called Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister. It is not just a love story but a beautiful story of a young man's dream fulfillment, self-struggle, family responsibilities and emotions. Full of laughter, hesitation, romance and heart-touching moments, this manga will make you happy as well as make you think. It is perfect for those who find the depth of life beyond love. Read it once, you will not be able to help but be fascinated.
The manga Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister revolves around a talented student named Uryuu Kamihate, whose dream is to enroll in a famous medical university in Kyoto and become a doctor. He lost his parents as a child and became an orphan and tried to make a living by working hard. One day, he found refuge in an ancient temple called Amagami Shrine, where the priest grandfather raised him with their affection.
But suddenly, an unexpected situation arises in front of him. In order to preserve the temple's tradition, he must marry one of the priest's three granddaughters. These three sisters are: Yae, the calm and older sister; Yuna, the serious and middle sister; and Asahi, the fickle younger sister.
This story is not just about love, but also about a young man's struggle for self, responsibility, family ties, and his efforts to achieve his future goals. The manga offers a heartwarming journey through laughter, emotion, dilemmas, and romance.
Tying the Knot with an Amagami Sister is a fun and romantic comedy manga series that I really liked. The main character of the story is Uryu Kamihate, who has to marry one of the three sisters in order to become the heir to the temple. This theme is new and interesting. The romance and harem elements of the series are presented very smoothly and pleasantly, which made me interested in the story.
The artwork of the manga is quite beautiful. The relationships between the characters and their personalities are very well developed, which brought the story to life. I was especially attracted to the different personalities of the three sisters.
Some supernatural elements in the story and dreams of seeing the future made the whole plot more mysterious and exciting. In addition, the humor of the series made me laugh a lot and had a good time.
Overall, those who like harem-style stories mixed with romance and comedy For those who do, this series is definitely worth watching. I will be reading the next episodes and the manga with interest.
That's all for today.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this post of mine.
Don't forget to let me know how you liked the post. Your comment is very valuable to me. Thank you all.
Hello everyone, my friends who are fans of good stories, I hope you are doing great today, this time I want to talk about a very interesting anime, which pleasantly surprised me, I wasn't going to watch it, but thank goodness I did, today I will talk to you about the anime: My Love Story with Yamada-kun at Lv999... from the first chapter it hooks you with the story, which is great: Akane, a university girl, is left by her gamer boyfriend... and not only does he cheat on her, but he does it with another girl he met in that Forest of Savior... for me, a super modern start and one you can identify with... I mean, who hasn't gone through something like this, a betrayal that is half digital, half real? that was the perfect gateway for a story that is about romance, yes, but also about finding oneself, the general atmosphere... look, I call it a 'comfort zone anime', one of those that doesn't make your hair stand on end, on the contrary, it creates a calm atmosphere, almost like therapy, so you can relax and just enjoy the walk after a long and hard day, sitting down to watch this felt like coming home, to that familiar and warm place.
If you're looking for something light, tender, one of those that hugs your heart, this anime does it great, it's innovative in a certain way, honestly, sometimes that's just what one needs... now, we have to talk about how it mixes romance with video games, which it does super well, because the gamer world is not just the background scenery, not at all... it's a key part of how everything progresses. Watching Akane get into this MMORPG thing, when she's just learning, was hilarious and it makes you feel so much tenderness too. There are moments where the game mechanics, the missions, all of that, connect with what happens to them in such a good way, that it's impossible not to smile... it's almost as if the game were something unique that connects the characters, teaches you little things about life and relationships without stealing the show. That fascinated me, honestly. It felt like a nod to the entire gaming community and, at the same time, a very fresh way to tell a love story.
And about the characters... Akane's story is great, she's not the typical perfect protagonist, but she's not a disaster either, she's... real, I really liked how she shows what she feels, super honest... she doesn't run away from the pain of being dumped, she lives it head on, without hiding anything... the truth is, it reminded me of my own mistakes and how one learns, and that's why I felt that her journey was super authentic, really. And then there's Yamada... at first, yes, he seems kind of cold, like distant, but as things progress, you start to see his tender side, his depth, right? Seeing how he changes little by little, from being this quiet high school boy to someone who truly cares for Akane... phew! That was one of the things I liked the most, and when they're together, oh! those kind of awkward but super sweet moments... it's like watching two people who little by little find each other, getting along together.
It's one of those romances that doesn't rush into giant dramas, but rather cooks slowly, with little details, with understanding each other... something that really gives this anime a special touch are the supporting characters: the people from the guild, they're not just filler, right? They're key to the whole atmosphere of the anime... guys like Eita, Momo, Runa... they give it that vibe of 'community', of good-natured friends that makes everything feel richer, more complete... how they support Akane and Yamada, how that relationship forms, it feels super natural and honest, it's like each one is a little piece of today's social life, right? It reminds you that behind every couple there are always a ton of friends supporting them... I laughed a lot at their jokes and the truth is that you grow fond of all of them, even when they're involved in their own funny messes.
And something I really loved was how things go, the pace it has... not like other romances that go at a thousand miles an hour, this one takes its time, it goes slowly... it lets the characters get to know each other little by little, enjoying those everyday moments that create that closeness, there are scenes where a simple thing - like laughing together over a silly thing in a game or a quiet gesture of support - tells you so much more than a bunch of words, those moments seemed great to me because they feel super real... they don't feel forced or dramatic at all, it's those little but honest details that weave something really beautiful between them.
Look, I know that the age difference, she's already in college and he's still in high school, can be a bit confusing, but do you know what surprised me? How the anime handles this wave very sensibly, very maturely... instead of focusing on the age difference as if it were THE problem, it puts it in today's context: how digital things, networks, games, can sort of shorten those distances, it's like a reminder that sometimes the heart doesn't count years, but rather focuses on the real connection between two people... another thing that I really liked is that this anime doesn't try to be something it's not, something immense, you know?
It has its little things from the usual love stories, the clichés that we already know, but it gives them a super fresh twist by including all this gamer culture of today... it's like it's telling you: "Yes, you already know this story, but look, I'm going to tell it to you in a more current and fun way", and believe me, there are a lot of very funny moments! Scenes you don't expect and that kill you with laughter, mixing university life with the disaster of online games... I still remember a scene where a glitch in the game ends up being a tender moment between them and it makes me laugh. It's those little surprises that made me love this series again and again, and I have to tell you, honestly, there were moments where it left me speechless, it exceeded what I expected. I went in thinking "oh, yet another romantic comedy about gamer otakus, super boring and soulless," and it was nothing like that! I found a deeper story, one that shows you the good and also the difficult things about today's relationships, that depth, that honest emotion, sometimes gets lost in other series, but here... here it really touched me.
The animation, look, it’s not the craziest or most spectacular thing in the world, but it has its vibe, it has its charm, it’s constant… how they switch between the game world and real life… they do it really smoothly, but it works, it makes you think about that, yes, digital is super important today, but in the end, what really matters are the connections with people, right? And the drawing, the style, I never felt like it took me out of the story or anything, on the contrary, it feels like part of the whole thing, very natural… of course, nothing is perfect, people, and yes, I had my issues… especially with some secondary characters… like sometimes I wanted to see more of them, especially how they got along in the guild and all that…
So, I give it a… a well-placed 8/10! forgetting those classic things that make these stories always work... if you like well-made romantic comedies, those that get to you, and that also have that gamer touch, don't hesitate to watch this anime, if you're looking for something to disconnect, without stress, something that celebrates the small victories of everyday life and that captures that emotion of new love... ugh! I don't know how much I recommend it, it's like a fresh version of this type of anime, that respects what came before, but enters with good vibes into the madness of our digital age... who knows, right? Maybe after watching it you'll want to jump into an MMO just to see what that mix of virtual adventure and maybe even find the love of your life feels like... and well, that's all for today's review. We'll see you in the next ones. Take care! Bye!
Byebye!

Shout-out to the nollywood industry again for making this one, often when I come across nigerian movies, the only idea that will pop in my head is "don't try to hit that download button" after a few minutes of struggling with my thoughts then I would finally hit that download button to clear my curiosity about the movie. So this particular one popped up in my notification bar, and I was like "what is this?" Well, I didn't mean those words, though, and the movie featured one of my favorite Nollywood legends, "Nkem Owoh." Seeing him in the movie changed whatever perspective I viewed it from, and I just decided to download it.
The Plot
Obara'M tells the story of a struggling musician named Oluchi who abandons her daughter in the village with her father to pursue a better and promising life in Lagos state. As time went by, Oluchi's father died due to an illness, and Oluchi on the other hand, was forced to come to the village and bear the responsibilities of her daughter.
After taking care of her father's funeral, Oluchi traveled back to Lagos state with her daughter, and at that moment, she tried very hard to balance her newfound role as a mother and her music career. While struggling to balance those new roles she is playing, she discovered that her daughter can sing and decided to bring her into the world of music.
The mother and daughter shared interest in music brings them together, and as they still strengthen their bond, Oluchi still hides the fact that she is the biological mother of Ihunnaya. So many lies were born due to that, and Ihunnaya discovers the truth, which leads to more webs of lies that threaten the relationship that has been existing between the mother and daughter.
My Review
Firstly, the musical aspect of this movie is what I didn't understand; I just thought the musical aspect shouldn't have been added, though. Aside from that, the movie is an interesting one. After the first ten minutes of diving into the movie, I realize there are more things to it than what I saw from the beginning.
The acting was impressive, and the cast did an amazing job with the different roles that were played. Then, for the child actor, she is very incredible and intelligent. She played that character very well, to a certain point, I'd just opened my mouth and saw her scenes as they unfolded.
Now, the overall story is amazing, and these things happen in the real world, where parents would deny their children just to protect their image outside. This movie will leave you with numerous smiles.
I would highly recommend this movie for everyone who is interested in watching, trust me you will enjoy every bit of your time. I'm gonna rate this movie a 7/10. Images are screenshots from my phone.
Hello friends, I hope you are well. Today I am here with an anime that combines suspense, time travel, and heart-wrenching emotions into one unforgettable story. I will take you on a journey where a man gets a second chance not only to save a life, but also to correct his deepest regrets from the past. I hope you enjoy it.
Story Summary
Erased The story follows the story of 29-year-old struggling manga artist Satoru Fujinuma, who has a strange power called Revival, which takes him back in time to moments before a life-threatening event, giving him the chance to prevent it.
At first, Revival begins in small moments. But when Satoru's mother is suddenly murdered and he is framed for the crime, that power is activated on a larger scale, sending him back 18 years to his childhood in 1988.
Returning to his 11th year, Satoru realizes that his mother's murder is connected to a series of child kidnappings in his hometown, one of which involves his quiet classmate Kayo Hinazuki. Determined to rewrite history, he begins to befriend Kayo and protect her and others from the tragedy that awaits them.
What follows is a compelling mix of emotional drama, suspense, and mystery. As Satoru tries to piece together the truth and identify the killer, he also relives bittersweet memories of friendship, youth, and loss. The anime balances thriller elements with strong character development and themes of regret, courage, and second chances. And ultimately, can he be saved from this peril?
My review
Erased It had me hooked from the first episode. This is not just a mystery anime, it's an emotional rollercoaster that hits hard. Watching Satoru relive his childhood while carrying the burden of an adult was both heartbreaking and beautiful.
His bond with Kayo was particularly captivating to me. Their scenes were powerful and often hard to watch but filled with warmth and hope. The suspense is expertly built, and even though the story is only 12 episodes long, it never feels rushed.
The animation is clean, and the soundtrack is especially well-suited to the ReRe theme of the opening theme of Asian Kung-Fu Generation. If you enjoy time travel, crime-solving, and emotionally rich stories, Erased is a must-watch. It's not just about stopping a crime, it's about healing the past. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you.
Thanks you so much for reading. See you next :)

Have you ever finished a movie and felt like everyone needs to see it too?
That’s exactly how I felt after watching From Scratch. It’s been a while since I sat through a series because many is too long but the synopsis of this one piqued my interest. I downloaded the first episode and, before I knew it, had binge-watched the entire season in two days. That’s how good it is.
But I wasn't too happy with the producers, no one warned me that aside from popcorn, I would need a box of tissues by my side.
From Scratch is a 2022 Netflix American romance drama created by Attica Locke and Tembi Locke. It stars Zoe Saldaña and Eugenio Mastrandrea in the lead roles. The series is based on Tembi Locke’s memoir of the same name and spans eight emotionally rich episodes.
It explores themes of love, family, loss, culture clash, resilience, and sacrifice.
The Storyline
Amy, a young Texan, travels to Italy for a six-week art program. Her father, Hershel, disapproves of her artistic dreams and wants her to pursue law. Without his financial support in Italy, Amy finds a part-time job at a bar run by Sloane, whom she meets on arrival.
Soon, she meets Lino, a Sicilian chef who falls for her at first sight. But Amy initially falls for Giacomo, a wealthy man who introduces her to the world of elite art. Despite her attraction to Giacomo, her friendship with Lino grows deeper, and he eventually confesses his feelings. Amy tells him she’s taken, and Lino told her they should stop seeing each other.
Amy later validates her feelings for Lino and they spent their first night together. What I thought is going to be a one night stand turned out to be the beginning of a new chapter of their lives.
After many months of long distance relationship, Lino moves to Los Angeles to build a life with her, they both live temporarily in Amy’s sister Zora’s apartment. Here, their relationship is tested. Lino struggles to feel belong in America, homesickness, and underemployment. During a tense Thanksgiving, Amy’s family, especially her mother, displays disappointment in Amy's choice of partner. Lino’s carefully prepared Italian dishes are ignored. This is where I felt Amy should’ve stood up for him, at least encouraged her family to taste the food he worked so hard on.
A year later, things begin to go well for them. Amy lands a good job, and they get married. Lino also finds new opportunities and begins to thrive. But their happiness is short-lived when Lino is diagnosed with cancer. This painful twist brings both families (Amy's and Lino's) together in support of the couple. Lino beats cancer, and they adopt a daughter, Idalia.
Seven years later, the cancer returns, this time it's spread to the lungs. The families unite once more to help care for Lino and support Amy and Idalia.
From Scratch is the most heartfelt American romance I’ve seen this year. The cinematography is five out of five, strong emotional depth and the characters are fully developed.
Lino’s father really pissed me off at the beginning of the series. He constantly prioritized other people’s opinions over his own son’s happiness, his only son. As a man, your family should come first, not the judgment of neighbors. He even missed his son's wedding, which meant he didn't give his marital blessing.
While his behavior was shaped by cultural expectations, it still reflected how controlling some men can be. He wanted everything done his way without considering the feelings of his family, not even his wife’s.
Amy and Lino’s love is inspiring. I admired their dedication to understanding and supporting each other through every storm. Their communication, vulnerability, and willingness to work things out stood out to me as it’s the foundation of any strong relationship.
I also loved Amy’s family. Despite being divorced, her parents stayed active in their children's lives. Even her stepmother was very warm, understanding and present. Lino’s father, who disowned Lino after hearing he's marrying an American was eventually touched by how well Amy’s family accepted his son.
Each of the episodes is emotional packed, you will either cry, or laugh.
However, the most difficult episode is the last one, I cried with Amy as she struggles to fulfill Lino's last wish which is taking his ashes home to Sicily.
This series made me laugh, cry, reflect, and believe again in the strength of love and family. The producers did a great job balancing emotional highs and lows, and even though one of the main lead died it doesn’t leave you feeling sad and broken.
I strongly believe From Scratch is perfect for anyone who enjoys emotionally driven stories. Whether you're single, in a relationship, married, or watching with family, this romance will resonate deeply. If you’re a fan of slow-burn, cross-cultural love stories with strong emotional arcs, this is a must-watch.
I'm rating it 4.9 out of 5 stars.
This OVA came out in 2011 and would be a continuation of the events that took place in the 1990 Dragon Ball Z: Goku's Father special. Where Bardock had supposedly died along with the destruction of the planet Vegeta at the hands of Freeza.
In this story, Freeza's attack made Bardock travel to the past. Finding himself on the planet Vegita, but before it was invaded by the Saiyan. At that time it is the planet Plant and is inhabited by its natives.
Bardock ends up befriending a boy named Berry, who brought him medicine and food.
Later, this boy asks the Saiyan for help. Since a guy named Chilled is terrorizing the village. To which Bardock agrees and decides to help. When he encounters the enemy, he is very surprised. Because Chilled looks a lot like Freeza. This would give us to understand that he is his ancestor.
Bardock is about to be defeated, but Berry in an act of desperation tries to protect him. Chilled at this, attacks the boy. Which provokes Bardock's anger and rage. Causing him to transform into Super Saiyan. This obviously turns the fight. Bardock manages to come out victorious and gets the respect and admiration of the entire planet.
The story ends with Chilled warning his men to beware of the golden-haired Saiyan. Kicking off the famous Super Saiyan legend.
Honestly, I don't think it's a bad OVA, but I feel like it doesn't make any sense in the beginning. It seemed like a gigantic convenience to me that Bardock instead of dying from that huge attack by Freeza, he traveled back in time. It's something that has no logic to it and no explanation was ever given or attempted. In this aspect, the writers were very lazy.
To this I add that the relationship between Bardock and Berry is coincidentally almost identical to that of Tapion and Trunks. Literally, almost exactly. Nice, spunky kid gets close to the serious, moody, but good-hearted alien. Ending up forming a bond.
On the other hand, what I really liked is how they gave an explanation to the legend or myth of the legendary super Saiyan. Beyond the fact that the form was a bit far-fetched and nonsensical, I loved that Bardock was the cause of what Freeza was afraid of. It was a great move.
In conclusion, it is a worthwhile special. Despite the huge convenience at the beginning, it is one of the very few appearances of the hunk of a character that Bardock is. I think anyone who likes Dragon Ball would want to watch and incorporate this OVA into what they've already seen. Even without being canon.

Okay I was in a gathering, when I heard some group of friends discussing something. Anyways I was actually Eva's dropping on their discussion. How can I not? When what they were talking about sounded so interesting. They were talking about a movie but the way it was discussed felt so interesting. I was so curious I kinda asked one of them the name of the movie, she said Revival and that it's about zombies.
Uh oh! I quickly lost interest 🤷🏼, I was like I'm not in for any zombies movies. She called me back and said “Revival isn't your average zombie movie, it’s chilling because these people act like nothing happened.”
I paused….
Thank you I said and went back home.
Around 3pm that afternoon, I was done with everything I wanted to do and I thought to myself, let's watch some movies.
It was as though my mind was waiting to remind me of my discussion with the lady that morning.
I searched up “Revival” and the rest follows……
The drama starts in the quiet town of Wausau, Wisconsin with cold streets and a routine life. And then there is Revival Day: dozens of dead bodies come out of graves, they are as good as new, and... dead. No zombification, no insatiable hunger--just humans returned, disoriented, untransformed.
Dana is a hard-boiled and complex cop when out of the blue, she is assigned to solve a murder case, yet the murderer is... a person who should be dead. The boundaries between normal and supernatural are bridged as her sister Em comes back. All of them, dead or alive are harboring secrets and Dana soon discovers that her case is personal to her more than any other case she has had before.
It is horror, mystery, theological thriller, as well as family drama all combined in a very tastefully disturbing bundle.
Revival engulfed me right at the first episode.
Atmosphere: It is cool and quiet- as the calm before a storm. Cinematography shows that weird silence. The scenes are intimate: air breathing, frost on the grass, blank looks of survivors.
Mystery: Each answer raises a hundred questions. Why are they returning? What are they today? Em, the sister of Dana, appears to be the same but emotions fluctuate, thoughts fade, and stress brews.
Emotion: Dana is hard as nails but she is a mother and sister-woman who is on the wrong path. Melanie Scrofano plays the role with furious energy that reveals worry, confusion, loyalty, all behind a hardened shell. In one scene when she and Em have a moment of silence my chest was tight.
Scrofano is down-to-earth in her performance and the emotional rewards of the series packs a punch.
The scenes are filled with Mystery with Depth
Who killed Em originally? Why are the revived waking? Are they the same people? These questions aren’t tossed aside—they build, stay, and keep you guessing.
As I was watching the episode when Dana and Em finally meet again, I could not help but think about what we leave behind. That online existence, those stolen minutes, those people we lose, would we want them back except that they no longer knew us?
It was the emotional pour-over of identity, of memory out of place and faces once familiar as strangers, it resonated to a level deeper than any chase scene.
It has got critics on high: the Tomatometer on Rotten Tomatoes stands at 93 percent with raves such as it being a crackerjack concept… eerily entertaining with Melanie Scrofano in a captivating performance.
PopHorror hailed it as a new supernatural thriller as good as any in years, citing its small-town atmosphere of tension and character relationships and economy, which it said was not a zombie-fest.
The consensus? Revival appears to be a serious horror show with actual emotional depth and authenticity.
Revival is not all a horror show. It is a supernatural twist on a family drama that has a philosophical puzzle in it.
See it in case you need tension that builds on words and glances and hush--the tension that does not add up to alien invasions and brain gnashers.

Today I want to tell you that I recently watched Devil May Cry, but the series on Netflix is quite short, shorter than the 2007 anime. Although both are actually short and can easily be watched in a day or two, as was my case.
In this Netflix version, the character of Dante seems more alive and even excited about everything, lol. In the first version of the anime, Dante's character is a bit more serious, although he still retains his taste for ice cream and pizza.
There are actually quite a few differences, and it's said that the Netflix version is the closest to the video games. I have some games on my PS4 wishlist that I haven't been able to purchase yet due to financial issues, but I'm eager to verify this myself. In fact, I like the character of Dante because I love the whole aura and mystery of demons, action, and fantasy.
Although the Netflix version isn't bad at all, I prefer the dark, gothic, sentimental tone that the first anime gives us.
And if at this point anyone is wondering what I'm talking about or what this anime is about, well, it's about the character of Dante, a demon hunter. This is ironic because he's half human and half demon. This character is tasked with going on certain missions, so to speak, where he must deal with demons and other supernatural beings. This anime is, of course, inspired by the video game series of the same name.
So far, I've only enjoyed this world through the anime, but now I'm even more eager to play the video games. I hope to do so soon.
JoJos Bizarre Adventure is an anime that I have become enraptured by the poses and style it has, it doesn't have the best narrative but it has a unique imprint that reaches the fandom of anime and manga creating a whole community of happy soldiers of which I am now also part because I'm already in its fifth and penultimate season already released.
Of all that universe of stories and episodes, there is one scene that impacted me by the dance and song that makes the characters and JoJos as anime, they call it the torture dance that in the video I was encouraged to sing it a capella in karaoke style so to speak haha.
The point is that I happily sing the song associated to this scene and I share it in the anime community for those who don't know it and believe me you will like it because it has a lot of rhythm and street style haha.
At first it will shock you because it is very strange and psychedelic, I share youtube videos where you can listen to it in more detail.
I hope you like the video because it is good to get out of the comfort zone to express ourselves artistically in other ways and what better than singing because if something has the anime is a universe of songs and soundtracks, opening, etc. that rival Hollywood and a sample is the power of this scene that fits perfectly with the song that accompanies it.
I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.
The final two seasons of Homicide: Life on the Street are often regarded as a slow unraveling of a show that had once defined gritty, unflinching police procedural drama. Yet among the missteps, few moments feel as jarringly tone-deaf as the Season 6 episode Lies and Other Truths, which marks a clear nadir in the series’ attempt to balance realism with sensationalism. The episode’s most glaring misfire arrives in a soap opera-style subplot that prioritises lurid theatrics over narrative coherence, undermining the otherwise strong central storyline. While the show had flirted with contrivance before, this episode’s ham-fisted embrace of absurdity—particularly in its Cold War-era espionage farce—signals a worrying shift toward prioritising spectacle over substance.
Noel Behn’s script attempts to salvage credibility by anchoring the episode in its more grounded, realistic main plot, which stands in stark contrast to the distracting side storylines. The central narrative follows the aftermath of a road rage incident on a Baltimore highway. Jerry Dietz, a passenger car driver, grows frustrated with a slow-moving maintenance truck and recklessly swerves to overtake it, triggering a catastrophic collision. Both Dietz and the truck driver are killed instantly, while Dietz’s wife survives but is left paralysed. Detective Kellerman (Reed Diamond) initially dismisses the case as routine, yet it gains unexpected weight when Dr. Julianna Cox (Michelle Forbes), the chief medical examiner, becomes embroiled in a bureaucratic conspiracy.
The attorney for Dietz’s wife files a wrongful death suit against Maryland, alleging negligence by the highway department. Cox’s superiors pressure her to falsify blood alcohol levels to blame Dietz for being drunk, thereby shielding the state from liability. Cox’s refusal to compromise her ethics sparks a moral crisis: she leaks the information to the Baltimore Sun, leading to her abrupt dismissal. Her decision to leave Baltimore, severing ties with Kellerman and the audience, is rendered with quiet poignancy. Unlike many Homicide arcs, this storyline avoids melodrama, focusing instead on institutional corruption and the personal cost of integrity. Cox’s departure feels neither overdramatised nor symbolic—it is simply another consequence of a flawed system, underscoring the show’s signature realism.
The episode’s other major storyline, however, descends into farce. Detectives Bayliss (Kyle Secor) and Pembleton (Andre Braugher) investigate the bizarre case of a man allegedly buried alive on the grounds of Fort Holibird, a former Cold War intelligence training facility. The victim, a member of the Sons of Silent Service—a group of Cold War re-enactors—had been obsessed with espionage as a hobby. The trail leads to Nelson Broyles (John Glover), a charismatic leader of the group, who confesses to sabotaging the victim’s coffin out of frustration with his “lax standards.” To heighten the absurdity, Lt. Giardello (Yaphet Kotto) introduces a former KGB defector, Sam Dunn (Jerry Liden), who claims the group’s members are “wannabe spies” whose fathers worked in intelligence. The subplot culminates in Broyles attempting to blow up police headquarters with dynamite strapped to his body—a clichéd spectacle that feels lifted from a 1960s spy flick.
This storyline is not merely poorly executed; it actively undermines the show’s credibility. The Sons of Silent Service are presented as ridiculous LARPers, their obsession with Cold War theatrics feeling anachronistic in a world grappling with real geopolitical tensions. Worse, the introduction of Giardello’s mysterious past—revealed as a Vietnam War POW who supposedly convinced his KGB interrogator to defect—serves no narrative purpose beyond inflating his character into a James Bond-esque legend. Giardello had previously been a grounded, morally complex figure whose authority stemmed from decades navigating Baltimore’s racial and political minefields. By grafting this implausible backstory onto him, the writers strip away his humanity, reducing him to a prop in a juvenile spy fantasy.
The third storyline, following Detective Falsone’s (Jon Seda) custody battle over his son, is mercifully brief but equally underwhelming. A judge rules in favour of his ex-wife, Janine, only for the pair to negotiate a joint custody arrangement. This resolution is so formulaic it feels lifted from daytime television, offering no emotional depth or character development.
The episode’s greatest failure lies in its inability to reconcile its disparate tones. The main plot’s sober examination of institutional corruption and personal sacrifice is undercut by the Cold War subplot’s campy theatrics. Behn’s decision to frame the latter as a “counterbalance” to the main story backfires, as its absurdity drains the episode of emotional resonance. Homicide had always thrived on its unflinching realism, its characters grappling with the moral ambiguities of urban policing. By inserting a subplot that prioritises spectacle—complete with a live bomb threat and a KGB defector—Behn undermines the show’s core identity.
Lies and Other Truths is emblematic of Homicide’s decline in its later seasons. While the main storyline remains a poignant exploration of ethics and consequence, the episode’s reliance on over-the-top subplots signals a loss of confidence in the show’s signature style. The decision to transform Giardello—a character whose groundedness was central to the series’ appeal—into a Bond-esque figure is particularly jarring, marking a point of no return for the show’s tonal coherence. By the finale, Homicide would struggle to regain its footing, its once-rigid realism increasingly diluted by gimmicks and contrivances. This episode, more than any other, crystallises the moment the series jumped its proverbial shark.
Im back with another batch of Andor episodes, I know I know its been a while since it aired but I really enjoy the rollercoster this series was and honestly I wasn't expecting another damn time jump but here we are, jumping forward a whole year again, this time landing us in 3BBY which puts us even closer to Rogue One territory at least thats my speculation as Im not so sure on a few details neither an expert on Star Wars. The thing is I think I get why they did it, revolutions don't happen overnight and if they are trying to sync up with Rogue One by the end of this season it makes sense to keep moving the timeline forward but this even give me vibes why there wont be any more Andor season, well by now we all know there wont be a third one. Episode 4 basically feels like a season premiere all over again, bad if you ask me but it does mean we gotta get confy again with everyone and their new situations and some of the momentum from those killer first three episodes kinda gets lost in the shuffle. Specially with Bix is still dealing with her trauma from Gorst's torture, she is having these nightmares where she is seeing the face of some Imperial soldier that Cassian apparently killed on a recent mission and you can tell she's struggling with the moral weight of everything they are doing its like she doesn't know on what side she is in anymore, to me is kinda annoying too. At the same time Cassian is trying to be protective but also trying to keep inside within all the violence which creates this tension between them that feels really exhausting, like these are two people who love each other but are being pulled in different directions by the war and their own opinions on what might be right or wrong or if anything makes any sense anymore.

The Ghorman stuff is where things get really interesting though, it suprise me how much interested I would get about Syril and Dedra, different that from season 1 because not only we finally get to see this planet that's been talked about so much but this two are at the core of situation down there, and it's basically like this strategic place been taken by force. Syril Karn gets send on this mission there now, supposedly working for the Bureau of Standards but really he is there as part of Dedra's plan to infiltrate the Ghorman Front, which is the local rebel group that's trying to figure out what the Empire is really building on their planet. The whole setup is this elaborate double agent setup where Syril thinks he is playing spy games and helping Dedra but really he's just a pawn in this bigger chess board to get the Ghorman rebels to do something stupid so the Empire can justify cracking down on them even harder. What's fucked up is that Luthen basically wants the same thing, he wants Ghorman to burn because it's a wealthy core world and if the Empire destroys it, it would scare other planets into joining the rebellion. So it doesnt matter who is looking at Ghorman they most likely wants the planet to go down except their own people, this is a very dark side of the series. You would expect Luthen to be on their side and offer his guidance to the completely inexperienced rebels who are basically artisans and tailors, not soldiers, so when Cassian goes undercover as this fashion designer Varian Sky to assess them, he immediately sees that they are not ready for what's coming, its like watching a plain crash from very far away until it hits the ground.

Saw Gerrera shows up again on D'Qar, which is cool because we get to see more of his partisan group and how they operate, plus we learn more about his backstory and why he is so fucked up. Turns out he was a prisoner in work camps on Onderon during the Clone Wars and there was this fuel leak of rhydonium that made everyone's skin burn and itch but instead of running away like everyone else, young Saw stayed because he liked the feeling. Now he's basically addicted to inhaling rhydonium fumes, which explains why he needs that breathing mask in Rogue One and why he is so paranoid and crazy all the time, the dude's been slowly poisoning himself for years. Wilmon gets sent there to teach Saw's people how to use this fuel extraction device but of course Saw kills the engineer who was supposed to learn it because the guy was an Imperial spy, that part I never saw it coming so now Wilmon's stuck there been the only one who knows how to operate the straction device without any other option. The whole sequence where Saw and Wilmon are huffing rhydonium together is both hilarious and crazy how Wilmon gives in and feels this kind of rage, because you can see how this is Saw's way of dealing with all the trauma and loss, he's basically trying to feel close to his dead sister Steela by bathing himself in this explosive fuel that reminds him of her. Forest Whitaker is just incredible in these scenes, he makes Saw feel like this broken man who has been carrying the weight of the rebellion for so long that he has lost pieces of himself besides everything else, he is not the same guy anymore all because been with the rebellion fighting all this long.
The political matters on Coruscant get very delicate to the point that if and when Mon Mothma openly talks about Ghorman situation they going after her inmediately, because you've got all these different factions playing chess with each other and nobody really knows what the other side is planning. Mon Mothma is trying to get support for repealing the emergency measures that Palpatine put in place after the Aldhani heist but she is running into cheap excuses and walls of thought from senators who are too scared to go against the Emperor and they also know she wont hold herself for too long if the times come and could endanger all of them at once. Meanwhile Luthen and Kleya are dealing with this crisis where one of the art pieces they bugged in Scolden's collection turned out to be a forgery, which means he is gonna have his whole collection authenticated and they will find their listening device. This leads to one of the most tense sequence at Scolden's party where Kleya has to remove the bug while Luthen distracts everyone and of course Krennic shows up to make things even more complicated, I truly though Kleya was going to get caught on this mission. The whole party scene is like watching a spy movie all in one scene, with all these different conversations happening at once and everyone trying to figure out what everyone else knows not only at the knowledge level but on whose side they are. Lonnie, who's the ISB agent that is secretly working for Luthen has to help Kleya get the bug out while pretending like nothing happening and you can tell he is shitting bricks terrified that he is gonna get caught.
Its three episodes and I cant how to put everything into a single article so its hard to call it a recap, although thats what it is, these three episodes really shows what makes Andor special compared to other Star Wars content, its about the tense scenes and the spionage side of things, it's not afraid of the complicated reality of fighting against fascism, where good people have to do terrible things and sometimes the cost of victory is higher than anyone wants to pay, thats basically what every one of the main characters call him Cassian, Luthen or Mon Mothma go through. The time jump thing is still a bit annoying but I think it works better here than it did in the first three episodes because we get more insight into what happened during that missing year through the characters conversations. Bix's drug use and PTSD been one of the most annoying topics but I get how she just cant get over it, reminds me a lot to The Wheel of Time when Egwen had to deal with all her trauma after been a Damane, there is also Cassian's increasing willingness to kill, Syril's weird relationship with Dedra that is very very interestind how she gets on his side that even makes you believe she really cares for him but its all selfishness its her way to get what she wants to go higher in the ransk to show off that she matters, all of these developments make the series more interesting as it goes, season two feels different too although not as good as season one and thats a flaw of design of anything that gets done after the "original" in this case season one, its not easy to top out. The Ghorman storyline becomes a bit draggy specially when they start talking on this local language, very like French I think but it shows how both the Empire and the rebellion are willing to sacrifice innocent people for their larger goals, which is a pretty dark message but feels true to the moral complexity of both sides. Cinta's death hits especially hard because we just got to see her and Vel reconnect, and now Vel has to carry on without the person she loves most and this is gonna make her even more dangerous and unpredictable going forward. Ghorman looks like a real place with its own culture and history, and the way they have designed everything from the architecture to the costumes but the plaza made me feel cloustrophobic at times and not only that, its like the show ran out of money and also everything feels so human and not "Star Wars" like on this vast universe. The political stuff on Coruscant is getting more intense too, with Krennic starting to play a bigger part and Mon Mothma getting more desperate as she realizes how little power she actually has in the Senate and running out of options after knocking on so many doors to get some support but she is willing to risk it all, probably for nothing. Overall these episodes felt better as the series makes progress, even though the pacing feels a bit different from the first season, it's still some of the best Star Wars content we have gotten in years.
The end of the second season of the Squid Game series left me intrigued. I wanted this month to come quickly so I could enjoy the third season, and when I found out that it had already premiered, I wanted to wait a few more days to calm my anxiety. 😆 This is the first series I've watched season by season until the end, since I didn't finish watching Game of Thrones, and what a coincidence that both are titled with the word “game.”
Let's remember that in the second season, the protagonist, Player 456, had decided to return to the game to put an end to the ruthless system that billionaires use for their own amusement. For those who have never seen it, Squid Game is a competition where hundreds of people with financial, drug, and health problems decide to go to an unknown island to compete against each other, risking their lives for the final prize, which is cumulative. These games, which seem childish and harmless, push them to their limits as they face off against each other to survive. The game is financed by sponsors who watch each competition with sadism, enjoying the entire process.
The final prize will be awarded to a single winner, who will be the one who has survived. Player 456 won in the first season and entered the second season with an altruistic purpose: to save everyone and eliminate the games. In the second season, there was no winner; only the games took place, and there was even an insurrection. Here, the characters were more diverse, including cryptocurrency influencers, music influencers, models, politicians, transsexuals, a witch, mothers and children, elderly people, and even a separated couple, with the added twist that the woman was pregnant. The ending was shocking because one of the leaders was inside the game and was the one who betrayed 456.
Because of the way the second season ended, I wanted to see the third season. About this season, I can say that the games were new, as expected, but I didn't find them as entertaining as the previous ones. They followed the same bloody storyline, but the characters no longer seemed involved in what was happening. I felt they were cold and emotionless, as if taking someone's life was something we all had to do and as if it were normal. I would have liked more drama and remorse for their actions, and although there was an episode titled “Guilt,” that's not what the characters showed.
This season saw more suicides than usual. The protagonist, who was the martyr and represented goodness, ended up being a murderer motivated more by revenge than survival. That killed the empathy I felt for that character, but I understand that it's part of the process. Characters change like people do, and if someone suffers a lot, they may stop being the good guy and end up with some bad feelings. One of the things I didn't like was that the young woman who was pregnant gave birth, but they used a baby created with artificial intelligence that, in my opinion, didn't look real at all. I think a doll would have been better. As for this character, she only fed once in several days and her diaper was never changed, so she wasn't a well-developed character, which is a big flaw, since she became a main character.
Among the positive aspects that I liked are the scenery, with its vibrant colors and childlike designs, creating a contrast between the subtle and beautiful and the grotesque, cruel, and bloody. This season, I felt that they padded the story with unnecessary scenes in order to lengthen the episodes, and the ending was so simple that it left me with no desire to watch another season because they made it clear that the Squid Games will continue in another country. There were scenes in New York, and in the final scene, Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett appears as a recruiter, clearly indicating that the franchise will move to the United States.
Of the three seasons, I liked the first one the most, and the second one was a hook for the third. I think that if they don't completely change the story, there's no point in continuing it. This is a series about money and how important it is to society. People's lives do not revolve around their families or love, but rather around the pursuit of money, since it may not bring happiness, but it does bring peace of mind and largely solves health problems. The big question is: What are you willing to do for money? And what value do you place on your life and the lives of others?
