I need to talk to you about this, it's a movie that really moves you, it leaves you thinking, that feels... important! Let's see, the idea itself already catches you, imagine: the Pope dies, just like that, they close the Vatican with all the padlocks... all the Cardinals of the world go to Rome for the conclave, that super secret thing, centuries old, to elect the new Pope, nobody has any idea what goes on in there, and that's gold for a movie. It’s like the most tense election in the world, but with all the vibe of tradition, faith and, let’s be honest, definitely a ton of political stuff, the movie milks the whole mystery… they sell it as a political and religious thriller, and the tension they manage is great, listen, the people behind this are pure heavyweights…

Directed by Edward Burger, do you remember All Quiet on the Western Front? The one that had like a thousand Oscar nominations and won a bunch? Well, that one! And the script is by Peter Straughan, who was nominated for adapting Tinker Tailor… so you go in expecting something good, intelligent, well-crafted cinema… and believe me, they deliver, this isn’t just a movie; it’s… it’s good cinema, the kind that feels classic, careful, where every shot, every dialogue, is thought out. And in the middle of it all, the one who rocks it is Ralph Fiennes, he plays Cardinal Lawrence, a Vatican bigwig who basically has to organize the entire conclave, ensuring that the age-old rules are followed... he does it simply incredible, he has this intensity that seems contained, long-suffering... he reminded me a bit of Cillian Murphy in Oppenheimer last year, that vibe of the guy who carries the world on his shoulders and fights with himself. His character, Lawrence, isn't one to seek the spotlight; in fact, it seemed as though they had half forgotten him in his career, and that is precisely why he is ideal to handle this mess, because he doesn't go around with all his ambition, like almost everyone else... he's like the calm eye of the hurricane, trying to navigate this whole mess while he himself is in his own crisis of faith... truly, a brutal performance that sustains the entire film.

Hola a todos, amigos de Hive, fanáticos de las buenas historias, en esta ocasión quiero traerles a todos ustedes una nueva reseña, acabo de ver una película, Conclave, y ¡uf!, necesito hablarles de esto, es una película que de verdad te mueve algo, te deja pensando, que se siente.. ¡importante! A ver, la idea de por sí ya te atrapa, imagínense: se muere el Papa, así de la nada, cierran el Vaticano con todo y candados.. todos los Cardenales del mundo van a Roma para el cónclave, ese rollo súper secreto, de siglos, para elegir al nuevo Papa, nadie tiene ni idea de qué pasa ahí adentro, y eso es oro para una película. Es como la elección más tensa del mundo, pero con toda la onda de la tradición, la fe y, seamos honestos, seguro un montón de cosas políticas, la peli le saca todo el jugo a ese misterio.. la venden como thriller político y religioso, y la tensión que maneja, es genial, escuchen, la gente detrás de esto es puro peso pesado..
Dirige Edward Burger, ¿se acuerdan de Sin novedad en el frente? ¿Esa que tuvo como mil nominaciones al Oscar y ganó un montón? Bueno, ese mismo! Y el guion es de Peter Straughan, que lo nominaron por adaptar El Topo.. así que ya entras esperando algo bueno, cine inteligente, bien hechecito.. h créanme que lo cumplen, esto no es nomás una película; es... es cine del bueno, de ese que se siente clásico, cuidado, donde cada toma, cada diálogo, está pensado. Y en medio de todo, el que la rompe es Ralph Fiennes, él es el Cardenal Lawrence, un pez gordo del Vaticano que básicamente tiene que organizar todo el cónclave, que se sigan las reglas viejísimas.. lo hace simplemente increíble, tiene esa intensidad como contenida, sufrida.. me recordó un poco a Cillian Murphy en Oppenheimer el año pasado, esa vibra del tipo que carga un mundo en los hombros y lucha consigo mismo. Su personaje, Lawrence, no es de los que buscan reflectores; de hecho, como que lo tenían medio olvidado en su carrera, y justo por eso es ideal para manejar este relajo, porque no anda con la ambición a todo lo que da, como casi todos los demás.. es como el ojo tranquilo del huracán, tratando de navegar todo este lío mientras él mismo anda en su propia crisis de fe.. de verdad, una actuación brutal que sostiene toda la película.

But we also have to give recognition to the rest of the cast, pure crack, people! There's Stanley Tucci as Cardinal Bellini, the one who wants the Church to modernize, he puts a kind of desperate energy into it, because he feels that this election is perhaps the last chance to take the Church where he thinks it should go. Then you have Sergio Castellitto as the traditionalist, the one who doesn't want to budge on anything; John Lithgow as the "calm" option, so as not to get into fights; and Lucien Msamati as a cardinal who's aiming to be the first African Pope in centuries... each with his own flag, his own idea of ​​the Church, and watching them clash... wow, it's fascinating! Even Isabella Rossellini, she comes across as a nun, Sister Agnes, she doesn't appear that much, but how every second she's on screen weighs... she has a presence, a calm authority that is truly felt among so many cardinals, seriously, the whole cast is incredible.

Now, between us, don't expect chases or shootouts, okay? This is a thriller, but one of those "people talking in rooms" kind. Have you heard of Succession? Well, imagine it in the Vatican, more or less... it's all about the discussions, the secret agreements, the leaks they make on purpose, the power games... that super-intense back-and-forth that happens with pure dialogue and seeing who switches sides... some may find it boring, but give me this every time... I love this kind of tense drama, which grabs you with the words, where every sentence counts. The script is sharp, it pulls you in right... after the first 10 minutes, just to get the hang of it, I was already inside, leaning back in my seat trying to take everything in... It has its good points too, there are moments of humor that did make us laugh, which is appreciated because it doesn't make everything feel so serious or heavy.

Pero también hay que darle reconocimiento al resto del reparto, puro crack, gente! Está Stanley Tucci como el Cardenal Bellini, el que anda queriendo que la Iglesia se modernice, le mete una energía como desesperada, porque siente que esta elección es quizás la última oportunidad para llevar la Iglesia por donde él cree que debe ir.. Luego tienes a Sergio Castellitto como el tradicionalista, el que no quiere moverle nada; John Lithgow como la opción "tranqui", para no meterse en broncas; y Lucien Msamati como un cardenal que le tira a ser el primer Papa africano en siglos.. cada uno con su bandera, su idea de la Iglesia, y verlos chocar... ¡uff, es fascinante! Hasta Isabella Rossellini, sale como una monja, la Hermana Agnes, no sale tanto, pero cómo pesa cada segundo que está en pantalla.. tiene una presencia, una autoridad tranquila que de verdad se siente entre tanto cardenal, en serio, todo el elenco está increíble.
Ahora, aquí entre nos, no esperen persecuciones ni balaceras, ¿eh? Esto es un thriller, pero de esos de "gente hablando en habitaciones". ¿Ubican Succession? Pues imagínenselo en el Vaticano, más o menos.. todo va de las discusiones, los acuerdos en secreto, las filtraciones que hacen a propósito, los juegos de poder... ese estira y afloja súper intenso que pasa con puro diálogo y viendo quién se cambia de bando.. algunos tal vez les puede parecer aburrido, pero a mí denme esto siempre.. me encanta este tipo de drama tenso, que te atrapa con las palabras, donde cada frase cuenta. El guion está filoso, te mete de lleno.. yo, después de los primeros 10 minutitos como para agarrarle la onda, ya estaba adentro, inclinado en el asiento tratando de captar todo.. tiene sus puntadas buenas también, hay momentos de humor que sí nos sacaron la carcajada, lo cual se agradece para que no se sienta todo tan serio o pesado.

This isn't just about seeing who gets to wear that elegant hat. The film delves into some really heavy themes... I mean, it digs deep into things like faith itself, the clash between the same old thing, tradition, and the idea that we need to change, to move forward; how ambition can rot everything, even in a place that's supposed to be sacred; they even touch on the problem of women in a Church that, well, is ruled by men. It makes you think a lot about whether leaders, especially religious ones, have to be perfect, or if it's precisely their mistakes, their problems, that make them human, closer to us, you know?

Fiennes' character gives a fantastic speech saying that the next Pope doesn't have to be a saint, but a sinner who tries hard to overcome his faults, and of course, imagine the looks on the Cardinals' faces, who think they're the last Coca-Cola in the desert. Obviously, they didn't like it at all! Haha. And something that really struck me is how this whole power struggle resembles normal, everyday politics. I mean, you see the cardinals with their cliques looking for support, making deals behind the scenes, even putting their foot in each other's mouths... it feels familiar! Like watching any presidential or congressional election go haywire, but with more incense and more Catholic clothing, right?

It clearly shows you these dynamics of power, of negotiation, of influence, and yes, even of corruption, that happen anywhere where people fight over who's in charge... something I appreciated, and maybe you're surprised, is that the film touches on all these strong, adult themes—doubt, sin, politics, dirty secrets—but it does so without the need for crazy violence or profanity every two seconds... in fact, it's rated PG, which is suitable for almost everyone! Which is crazy for such an intense, complex film, really, it feels fresh. It shows you that you can make serious, thought-provoking, adult films without having to scream "LOOK HOW ADULT I AM!" in your face with all the heavy-hitting scenes. Let the drama and the ideas do their work.

Esto no es nomás ver quién se queda con el gorrito ese elegante, la peli se mete con temas bien, bien densos.. o sea, se clava en cosas como la fe misma, el choque entre lo de siempre, la tradición, y la onda de que hay que cambiar, avanzar; cómo la ambición puede pudrir todo, hasta en un lugar que se supone sagrado, hasta tocan el problema de las mujeres en una Iglesia que, pues, es regida por hombres, te deja pensando un montón sobre si los líderes, sobre todo los religiosos, tienen que ser perfectos, o si justo sus errores, sus problemas, es lo que los hace humanos, más cercanos a uno, ¿saben?
El personaje de Fiennes se avienta un discurso buenísimo diciendo que el próximo Papa no tiene que ser un santo, sino un pecador que le echa ganas para superar sus fallas, y claro, imagínense la cara de los Cardenales, que se creen la última Coca-Cola del desierto, obvio no les cayó nada bien! Jaja. Y algo que me pegó mucho es cómo toda esta lucha de poder se parece a la política normal, la de todos los días, o sea, ves a los cardenales con sus grupitos buscando apoyo, haciendo sus acuerdos por debajo del agua, hasta metiéndose el pie entre ellos.. se siente familiar! Como ver cualquier elección presidencial o de diputados hecha un desmadre, pero con más incienso y ropa más católica, ¿no?
Te muestra clarito esas dinámicas de poder, de negociar, de influencias y sí, hasta de corrupción, que pasan en cualquier lugar donde la gente se pelea por mandar.. algo que agradecí, y tal vez les sorprende, es que la peli toca todos estos temas fuertes, de adultos – la duda, el pecado, la cosa política, secretos turbios – pero lo hace sin necesidad de darte violencia a lo loco o groserías cada dos segundos.. de hecho, tiene clasificación PG, o sea, apta para casi todos! Lo cual es una locura para una película tan intensa, tan compleja, la verdad, se siente fresco. Te demuestra que puedes hacer cine serio, que te pone a pensar, cine para adultos, sin tener que estar gritándote a la cara "¡MIRA QUÉ ADULTO SOY!" con puras escenas fuertes, deja que el drama y las ideas hagan su trabajo.

Okay, okay... now, without spoiling anything... there's a twist, right near the end... and wow, let me tell you, I did NOT see this one coming... I mean, not even if you gave me a thousand chances to guess, it's... daring, I think it's going to be very divisive. It's one of those things that can easily be misunderstood, or that people can use to stir up trouble in these crazy times we're living in, you know? Me? Honestly, I'm still thinking about it... on one hand, I won't deny that it's interesting and it makes you rethink things, but on the other... I don't know if it was really necessary for the story they were telling. It felt a bit like you were telling a really good story about how you almost killed yourself in your car and suddenly you put in a crazy gear, it's a really sharp change of direction right at the end, and while yes, you remember that, I wonder if it doesn't take a bit of the shine off all the well-crafted drama we saw before, it's what keeps me thinking the most.

Maybe I'll have to watch it more times now that I know what's going on to make a good decision... but look, even with that little doubt about the ending, the vast majority of the film—easily 98%—is simply brutal. The acting, as I told you, is top-notch... the direction is steady, creating a tension that's jaw-dropping. The script is sharp, intelligent, and grips you... visually, wow! It's also incredible—how they show you the Vatican, the grandeur and the shadows, that contrast between the luxurious and the human drama happening inside. The production design feels super real; you believe you're right there, in those sacred, semi-claustrophobic halls. The music also helps a lot to create the atmosphere, that throbbing you feel underneath you the whole time... so, overall? I was fascinated. It's smart, suspenseful, beautifully made and leaves you thinking a lot, the ending felt a little less natural than everything that came before, but that's just a minor detail compared to how solid the film is... Bueno, bueno... ahora, sin spoilearles nada... hay un giro, casi al final.. y wow, déjenme decirles que NO me la vi venir.. o sea, ni aunque me dieran mil chances para adivinar, es... atrevido, creo que va a dividir mucho las opiniones. Es de esas cosas que fácil se puede entender mal, o que la gente puede usar para armar alboroto en estos tiempos locos que vivimos, ¿saben? ¿Yo? La verdad, todavía le estoy dando vueltas.. por un lado, no niego que está interesante y te hace repensar cosas, pero por otro... no sé si de verdad era necesario para la historia que estaban contando. Se sintió un poco como si estuvieras contando una historia buenísima de cómo casi te matas en el coche y de repente metes un cambio loco, es un cambio de dirección bien fuerte justo al final, y aunque sí, te acuerdas de eso, me pregunto si no le quita un poco de brillo a todo el drama tan bien armado que vimos antes, es lo que más me trae dando vueltas todavía.
Quizás tenga que verla más veces ya sabiendo qué onda para decidirme bien.. pero miren, incluso con esa dudita sobre el final, la gran mayoría de la película – fácil el 98% – es simplemente brutal, la actuación, ya les dije, de primer nivel todos.. la dirección es firme, crea una tensión que te mueres. El guion está afilado, inteligente y te atrapa.. visualmente, ¡uff!, también es increíble – cómo te muestran el Vaticano, la grandeza y las sombras, ese contraste entre lo lujoso y el drama humano que pasa adentro. El diseño de producción se siente súper real, te crees que estás ahí mismo, en esos pasillos sagrados y medio claustrofóbicos, la música también ayuda un montón a crear la atmósfera, ese como latido que sientes todo el tiempo por debajo.. así que, ¿en general? Me tuvo fascinado. Es inteligente, llena de suspenso, hermosamente hecha y te deja pensando un buen, el final, se sintió un poquito menos natural que todo lo anterior, pero eso es nomás un detallito comparado con lo sólida que está la película.. fácil le doy un 9.5/10, es de esas pelis que se te quedan grabadas.. y bueno amigos, eso es todo por hoy, espero que les haya gustado esta reseña, nos veremos pronto, les dejo el trailer por aquí abajo, vuidense mucho! It's frustrating to watch an anime, fall in love with it, and discover that it's still being broadcast, so there are still a few episodes left before the current season ends. This is happening to me with several anime series I'm watching, which has kept me away from the community, but a few days ago, while I was talking to my son and we were looking for something to watch, he told me he wanted to watch a specific anime, so we started watching it together. I didn't have high expectations, but I wanted to share it with him, so I started watching it and ended up hooked on:

Mashle: Muscles and Magic

This anime, based on the manga of the same name, focuses on the life of a young man named Mash Burnedead, who is extremely strong and was born into a world where magic is everything and the laws that govern this world dictate that anyone born without magic must die, so his father keeps him hidden.

One day, driven by hunger, he disobeys his father and goes to the city, a place his father, for obvious reasons, has forbidden him to go. There, they discover that he is a human without magic, as he has no lines on his face (magic mark), unlike all magicians.

This marks the beginning of a change in the young man's life, as he accepts a challenge to attend a magic school and become a “Divine Enlightened One,” all for the sole purpose of getting the police to leave him and his father alone.

As the anime progresses, we see how the protagonist makes friends with Finn Ames (his roommate), Lance Crown (a wizard with two lines on his face), who is first his rival and then his friend, Lemon Irvine, who is in love with Mash, and Dot Barrett, a romantic who is first Mash's rival and then becomes his friend.

This young man immediately catches the attention of the director of the prestigious Easton Academy of Magic, Wahlberg Baigan, who, from the moment he sees him, notices that he is different and seeks a way to get him admitted to the school.

This anime has a huge number of funny moments, mixed with others where Mash stands out as he makes his way in the magical world with his sincere personality, winning over those around him because he is very noble and hates injustice, constantly defending those who are disadvantaged or threatened.

Now, while watching the anime, I couldn't help but make comparisons with the Harry Potter saga. For example, the academy is a boarding school and has houses, in this case only three instead of four, the uniforms are similar, the headmaster's suit and appearance, among other things, but without a doubt, with its omnipresent humor, it would be a parody of the genre, reinforced by the fact that the protagonist cannot use magic at all, so he solves everything with determination and brute force.

But even though it is full of humor, it has unique elements that make it interesting, such as the categories among wizards based on having two or three lines on their faces, the personal magic of each wizard, and a villain who turns out to be the protagonist's father and who has used forbidden magic, giving it a unique touch.

As for the animation, it's not a work of art, but it's enjoyable and there are details that add to the battles, such as when Dot and Lance turn into babies.

So far, there are only two seasons of this anime, and the opening of the second season is particularly catchy, so I'm now eagerly awaiting the third season in July 2025.

Hello, cinema fans. Today I'm going to talk to you about one of the best action and science fiction films ever made, set in a dystopian, post-apocalyptic future. It's one of the best films of the last decade and so deserving of its success that it simply needs no introduction. It's one of the best sequels/remakes ever made, for many reasons that we'll discuss below. Written, produced, and directed by the great George Miller, the same man who created and directed the entire Mad Max saga, especially the first film, which revolutionized cinema with its extremely low budget. The 1979 film became a cult classic, as well as a major benchmark in the film industry. Fury Road stars Tom Hardy, Charlize Theron, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Keays-Byrne, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, among others. Discover one of the best films I have had the pleasure of watching a hundred times over.

Plot

The film begins with a monologue by what appears to be our protagonist, Max, a former highway patrolman and survivor of the great catastrophe that befell planet Earth due to a nuclear war and various battles that divided humanity, thus destroying the planet's basic resources (such as water, plants, and animals) and turning it into a desolate, radioactive wasteland. Our protagonist is pursued by a gang of cars and motorcycles that are part of the "War Boys", the army of sick and crazy people led by the great leader and "Warlord" Immortal Joe, owner of the Citadel (one of the few places that has a source of fresh water). Max is captured and later taken to this huge city to become a "Blood Bag" for one of the sick War Boys who barely survive on transfusions. One day, the "Imperator" Furiosa takes the wheel of the "War Rig," which is full of goods such as gasoline and water for trade. However, what Immortal Joe doesn't know is that she also has his five wives with her, who are trying to escape his sick and cruel clutches.

If I had a dollar for every time I've seen this movie on TV, I would literally have an air conditioner in my room by now. It's very difficult for a movie from the past decade to impress me, leave an impression on me, and hook me as much as this gem has. There was a time back then when everyone was talking about this film. And it's no wonder, since Fury Road was nominated for ten Academy Awards (Oscars), winning six, in addition to other awards and prizes. The film is practically a masterpiece in its entirety, both for its incredible production and for the way it tells a story and develops different characters from various sides in a single two-hour journey (there and back). At a time when science fiction cinema was at its peak, this feature film, packed with action scenes, races, chases, and explosions, achieved more than any other film has ever achieved independently. If you're looking for something entertaining, full of non-stop excitement, then watch this movie.

Before I begin, I would like to clarify that, of all the films in this saga, I have only seen this one in my life. Yes, I have not seen the previous three installments that were released in the 1980s. I mention this because Fury Road seems to be both a sequel and a remake (reboot) of the same. Be that as it may, I personally didn't feel affected by not having seen anything before this tremendous masterpiece, so I don't think it's necessary to do so now as a recommendation, to be honest. The story we see here manages to capture the viewer's attention right from the first few minutes, with a short and precise introduction to what we will see next: a post-apocalyptic and completely dystopian world. We step into the worn, dirt-covered boots of Max, a former highway cop who is now a survivor trying to escape the War Boys. However, he is captured, imprisoned, and marked to become a "blood bag". What happens next with the War Rig led by Imperator Furiosa in the desert of this great Wasteland will be the beginning of a long pursuit for life, freedom, and redemption.

With an easy-to-understand and easy-to-follow plot, this film manages to present us with a parade of madness, chaos, and destruction in a dystopian and completely deserted world. What catches the eye from the beginning is the fast and frenetic pace, where even the characters themselves manage to move and act in an accelerated manner, with no time to think or process what is coming. This is something I haven't seen in any other similar film, which makes it even more striking than it already is at first glance. And I like it that way, because it makes sense to give the film and the characters that pace, given everything we see, as it is literally a race. Another detail that caught my attention is the way this post-apocalyptic world is constructed. The first thing we notice, after the desert, is the Citadel, a place ruled by the powerful Immortal Joe, who has an army of sick people called the War Boys. They, along with the other residents of this place, revere and worship this sick ruler, who gives them only a few seconds of clean water each time he appears.

It is difficult not to compare this character to a dictator, a leader who takes advantage of the needs of others who follow him to work for him. And if that weren't enough, Immortal Joe is revered by these people while posing as a Norse god, or something like that. This way of leading and manipulating others is something we can clearly see in real life with certain characters that I will not mention here. The irony of it all is that the same man who calls himself "immortal" has his fate sealed by being just another sick person in this polluted and radioactive world. That is why his constant attempt and desire to secure a healthy future heir motivates him to imprison, mistreat, and abuse women he calls "wives" and keeps them captive as his objects. Here is another indirect message that the film is leaving us with. When he sees that his five wives have escaped with Furiosa, who is driving the War Rig, he goes after her with his entire mobile army. His power and resources are as comparable as his enormous army, but this story shows us that even the greatest can fall spectacularly.

There are many things to say about this film, such as the modified cars, the equipment, the Nordic influence on the War Boys and their supposed immortal leader, or the deserted and polluted world in which all this takes place. But what caught my attention the most is how this world came to be this dystopia. Completely ignoring what is shown in the first three installments prior to this film, I will talk about how humanity itself has caused the destruction of this world. A fate far more potential than any other future we have seen before in other science fiction films. There is no worse enemy than human beings themselves; the creators of the atomic bomb, the cause of global warming, deforestation, and wars around the world. All of this, multiplied by a thousand, is what caused the post-apocalyptic world we see in this film to exist. A world in which humanity has descended into total madness. A future where man kills man for pleasure, necessity, and entertainment while radiation victims roam the world.

Of course, since what we see in this film is only what happens on the road, no one knows what can be seen in another plane or place in this world. Nevertheless, all of this is made visible in this two-hour feature film. Here, people are only looking to satisfy their basic needs and survive as long as possible, which is why there are characters like Immortal Joe who take advantage of this to dominate and have all the resources at their disposal. This is where the protagonists appear, those who will turn all this around and show a different path to what people are destined to follow in this chaotic world. Max and Furiosa are a duo that you don't often find in action movies like this. A fugitive who had everything taken from him and now finds himself as a "blood bag" for a War Boy, and a member of Immortal Joe's army who has been forced to serve him since she was young. Both find themselves on this desert road to join forces and fight the great evil that pursues them.

When it comes to car races and chases, Fast and Furious is the only thing that comes to mind, but after seeing this movie almost a decade ago, I can't help but compare both franchises and their fixation on modified cars. Of course, there is a noticeable difference in the aesthetics and design of both cases. In Fury Road, for example, we see a whole parade of cars, trucks, and vans of all kinds with a rustic, old-fashioned style, ready to be scrapped. This mix of chase scenes with action, drama, and cars is fantastic, and the fact that it's such a big part of the movie itself makes it more engaging than usual. What sets this masterpiece apart from failed imitations such as Waterworld (in addition to having better production, better story, and better character development) is that Fury Road is a single round trip. It has its fast pace, but it is well used, with moments of action and others of development, dramatic scenes, and a flawless ending. In addition, I consider the third act and the ending of this film to be the best I have seen to date.

Another thing I really like about this film is the way it develops its characters. Starting with the mad Max, he is shown to us as a survivor who has been alone until he was imprisoned and used as a blood bag. At first, we see him trying to survive and escape at all costs, confronting whoever stands in his way. But after a while, we see how he develops a certain relationship with Furiosa and the girls she carries in the War Rig. Perhaps it is because of their loss or because both sides have a lot in common as people who have been trying to escape all this time in order to survive, but the end of the film is a sign of redemption for them and for all of us who saw them fight against Immortal Joe. On the other hand, we have Furiosa, a female character who serves as the perfect example of strength, courage, and redemption. A character who has been imprisoned and used for war in this chaotic world at the hands of a crazy and sick tyrant. Her attempt to escape and later fight Joe is a sign of what many of us have come to do in our lives.

In one way or another, this film has some very good lessons for us. In the case of Furiosa, for example, we have that search for freedom, redemption, and that place where we believed we were happy. When we face reality, the present, we realize that things are not as we imagined them to be. And when we see that there is no hope in a world plagued by chaos and madness, there is no other option but to face our fears and fight to the end, giving everything we have to get what we want. Like this, there are other lessons we can learn from this film that can be useful to us. But, of course, what many of us will seek in the first instance is to be entertained by an endless sequence of action, racing, and pursuit that is still worth watching. It is ironic that one of the most action-packed and entertaining films on an audiovisual level has this kind of message and lesson when you look a little closer. That is why I consider this film to be a masterpiece that has been redefining itself over the decades.

Last but not least, let's talk about the technical and visual aspects of this film. It is one of the best-produced films I have ever seen in my life, to be honest. From the beginning, we notice those details that stand out and make this work unique in its style. Starting with the fast and frenetic pace of the action and chase scenes, the different camera angles in the second and third person, the mix of sounds with movements, changes, and 360-degree turns. The style of photography, the warm color palette during the day and cool colors at night, the makeup, and the excellent use of practical effects throughout the film. Even the design of the different types of cars we see stand out, as if it were a parade of underworld races. The soundtrack is wonderful, an excellent combination of percussion with fast and strong melodies. Sounds of drums and electric guitars that we can even see in the film itself. The euphoria and excitement generated by this soundtrack is one of the best things about this film, along with its visuals. This is a letter to the seventh art, to chaos and action.

Personally, I give it a well-deserved 10/10 rating in terms of the action and science fiction genre.

Today I was reading some news talking about the success of advance ticket sales for the new DC Comics version of Superman, and I wasn't particularly surprised to see this happening. From the moment James Gunn was announced as the "big boss" of this "new shared universe" of the company, all the fans elected him as a "savior" who brings with him the potential to reshape the reality of the company, and nothing is more natural than seeing an audience eager to consume the material that was produced with so much commotion throughout its process.

Starring David Corenswet (and a considerably competent supporting cast), the new version of Superman will hit theaters next month, almost directly competing (because the release dates are close) with the new version of the Fantastic Four, which is a product of the competing company: Marvel. So far, the search for tickets for the two movies, when compared, gives a wide advantage to the citizen of the planet Krypton. The tendency is that in this fight, Marvel will be left “eating dust” because Superman’s success seems to be consolidated.

In fact, no one can say for sure whether the movie can already be considered an anticipated success or not. However, it is clear that there is a latent curiosity among the public regarding how James Gunn “revamped” this hero on the big screen. Personally speaking, I believe that there will be no middle ground here: either this movie will be excellent, or it will be a total failure. The “polarization” of my thinking is fueled precisely by the fame of the character throughout his movie adaptations, and the scenario is not good because there has never been anything so faithful to the comics.

Very soon we will know if this result of so many tickets selling out in advance was something really justifiable or just the curiosity of a thirst that needed to be quenched by material that truly resembles this origin story in the comics. Until we have that answer, the movie’s marketing campaigns continue at full force, spreading the idea that something iconic is coming, even with information pointing to a more negative side (which so far seems to me to be just rumors).
