   El género de Zombies es uno de mis favoritos, he visto varias películas aunque debo decir que no consumo todo lo que tenga que ver con este tipo de criaturas, las que me gusta ver son los que pueden ser divertidas, terroríficas y hasta querer mostrar algo diferente y eso es porque creo que los Zombies pueden encajar en cualquiera historia como comedias, acción, romance, drama, musicales, animación, puede ser parte de cualquier historia ya que los muertos vivientes pueden hasta variar en sus características, hay veloces, lentos, inteligentes, no inteligentes, podridos, nuevos, callados, que hablan (o tratan), pueden ser de cualquier forma dependiendo de la historia y definitivamente esto es lo que me hace disfrutar de este tipo de films de los cuales pueda o no tener altas expectativas dependiendo si son o no grandes producciones porque sé que mientras más dinero sé que pueden dar mucho a este tipo de historias, aunque debo decir que mis expectativas son normales como las puede tener cualquiera ya que solo espero divertirme, entretenerme que se respete las reglas y creo que tan solo con eso pueda disfrutar de un buena película.

   The Zombie genre is one of my favorites, I have seen several movies although I must say that I do not consume everything that has to do with this type of creatures, the ones I like to see are the ones that can be funny, terrifying and even want to show something different and that's because I believe that Zombies can fit in any story like comedies, action, romance, drama, musicals, animation, can be part of any story since the living dead can even vary in their characteristics, there are fast, slow, smart, not smart, rotten, new, silent, talking (or trying), they can be of any form depending on the story and definitely this is what makes me enjoy this kind of films of which I may or may not have high expectations depending if they are big productions or not because I know that the more money I know they can give a lot to this kind of stories, although I must say that my expectations are normal as anyone can have since I only expect to have fun, to be entertained that the rules are respected and I believe that only with that I can enjoy a good movie.

   De "Army of the Dead" tenia expectativa alta, esperaba justamente diversión, una lucha desenfrenada para sobrevivir y mucha acción, recuerdo que cuando vi el tiempo de duración de este film me preocupo que fuera algo larga y pensaba que pudiera afectar a la historia, pero por cómo está escrita creo que era necesario poder desarrollar a sus muchos personajes antes de ocurrir el acto final, pero volviendo a mis expectativas sobre si me divertiría o no, esta vez eran altas porque estaban enfocadas al director de este film, a Zack Snyder ya que él dirigió una de las películas que más me gusta sobre Zombies, esa es "Dawn of The Dead", este remake es uno de los mejores que he visto, debe tener uno de los comienzos más estresantes de la historia del cine sin hablar del acto final que para mí es épico (en algún momento hablare sobre este film) y es por eso que esperaba ver algo igual en esta nueva historia, pero no todas las película son iguales (algunas si lo son) así que está vez tocaba contar algo diferente y no sé si llamarlo algo nuevo o audaz, pero si algo que pudiera sentirse fresco en el género por parte de este director, guionista y productor.
   No es un secreto que para este film Snyder tuvo mucha influencia en varias películas, podemos ver parecidos a Mad Max, Ghost of Mars, Land of the Dead, pero hubo una que se ve que para la escritura del guion de "AotD" se vio muy influenciada, esa es ALIENS de James Cameron, mientras veía este film pensaba en las muchas referencias que hay de este film estrenado en 1989 a este nuevo del 2021 y no solo hablo de la referencia más clara que es del personaje "Chambers" usando una bandana como el personaje de "Vasquez" en el film de Cameron, sino de muchas cosas más, la estructura completa de la película es muy parecida a la de ALIENS, la misión (la verdadera) y hasta algunas escenas, en especial ya cuando comienza el caos en el acto final y para mí la más parecida entre ambas son las que vemos en la pelea final, con esto no hago una crítica porque imagino que el mismo Cameron pude ser influenciado en algún otra historia para desarrollar su film, solo quiero decir que Zack no temió en demostrar la influencia que tuvo en muchas películas en especial el film que claramente unió el terror con mucha acción.

   From "Army of the Dead" I had high expectations, I was expecting just fun, an unbridled fight to survive and a lot of action, I remember when I saw the running time of this film I was worried that it would be a bit long and I thought it could affect the story, but because of how it is written I think it was necessary to be able to develop its many characters before the final act happens, but going back to my expectations about if I would have fun or not, this time they were high because they were focused to the director of this film, to Zack Snyder since he directed one of the movies I like the most about Zombies, that is "Dawn of The Dead", this remake is one of the best I have seen, it must have one of the most stressful beginnings in the history of cinema without mentioning the final act that for me is epic (at some point I will talk about this film) and that is why I expected to see something equal in this new story, but not all films are equal (some are) so this time it was necessary to tell something different and I do not know if I call it something new or daring, but something that could feel fresh in the genre by this director, screenwriter and producer.
   It's no secret that for this film Snyder had a lot of influence on several films, we can see similarities to Mad Max, Ghost of Mars, Land of the Dead, but there was one that you can see that for the screenwriting of "AotD" he was heavily influenced, that's ALIENS by James Cameron, while watching this film I was thinking about the many references that there are from this film released in 1989 to this new one of 2021 and I'm not only talking about the clearest reference which is the character "Chambers" wearing a bandana as the character of "Vasquez" in the film of Cameron, the whole structure of the film is very similar to ALIENS, the mission (the real one) and even some scenes, especially when the chaos begins in the final act and for me the most similar between the two are the ones we see in the final fight, with this I do not make a criticism because I imagine that the same Cameron could be influenced in some other story to develop his film, I just want to say that Zack was not afraid to show the influence he had in many films especially the film that clearly joined the terror with a lot of action.

   Los Zombies, por supuesto que esto es lo más importante en un film sobre este género, como dije anteriormente pueden ser de cualquier forma y en este film tenemos de varios tipos, comencemos con los "Alpha" los cuales son inteligentes, fuertes, rápidos, con buenos reflejos, todos liderados por el gran "Zeus" el cual es el agente 0, este tipo de criaturas son organizados que hasta tienen divisiones en su grupo, creo que la única vez que he visto esto fue en el film Land of the Dead, dirigido por George Romero, en donde los zombies tratan de tener una “vida normal”, hasta que después de ser molestados por los humanos se organizan preparan un ataque en contra de los humanos, en este film hay algo sobre eso, la evolución y organización de estas criaturas, eso me gustó mucho porque de esta forma elevan mucho el juego para sobrevivir ya que son difíciles de superar; los Alphas no son los únicos que existen en esta historia, aquí veremos los clásicos zombies, los hambrientos y pocos inteligentes, ellos son conocidos como "Shamblers", su cualidad es que en el día “duermen” y en la noche salen a buscar lo que puedan comer, esto lo llegué a ver en la serie coreana de Netflix llamada Kingdom y también se pudo observar algo parecido en la primera temporada de The Walking Dead cuando al no conseguir alimento parece que quedaran en un estado de hibernación; los tipos de “Los No Muertos” son lo que resalto en esta historia porque justamente aquí hay una diferencia entre películas clásicas de este tipo a este nuevo film y esa es que esta clase de muertos vivientes no son los protagonistas principales, hablo de los Shamblers, las criaturas evolucionadas si lo son, esto me llamó la atención y debo decir que fue una gran decisión de Snyder dar importancia a esta tribu de extraños zombies y no seguir con lo ya visto, creo que esto pudo ser lo que decepcionó a algunas personas porque no tuvieron lo que están acostumbrados a ver en este tipo de películas.
   
   Los vivos (humanos) en esta historia cumplen con otras de las leyes respetadas en este género, siempre que veo a un grupo de personajes que deben enfrentar a zombies u otras criaturas, espíritus o asesinos, pienso "¿Cuál será su forma de morir?" Sé que la respuesta a mi pregunta dependerá por cómo sean cada uno de estos personajes; en este film tenemos a el líder, la co-líder, el fuerte (a parte del líder) el decisivo, el cobarde, el cómico, la imprudente y el que debe morir de la peor manera posible, creo que no debe existir una queja por como crearon a estos personajes, puede ser que los motivos interpretaciones puedan tener detractores, pero si en un film de terror o terror/acción cómo es este, deben existir personajes tales como estos, sin ninguna duda y para mí es un gran grupo, todos me cayeron muy bien, todos cumplieron en su roles, tenía tiempo que no disfrutaba tanto de un grupo de víctimas.

   The living (humans) in this story fulfill other of the laws respected in this genre, whenever I see a group of characters that must face zombies or other creatures, spirits or killers, I think "What will be their way to die?" I know that the answer to my question will depend on how each of these characters are; in this film we have the leader, the co-leader, the strong one (apart from the leader) the decisive one, the coward, the funny one, the reckless one and the one who must die in the worst possible way, I think there should not be a complaint about how they created these characters, it may be that the motives interpretations may have detractors, but if in a horror or horror/action film like this one, there must be characters such as these, without any doubt and for me it's a great group, I liked them all very much, they all fulfilled their roles, I haven't enjoyed so much a group of victims for a long time.

   La historia escrita por Zack, recuerdo ver el tráiler y pensar de que esto quería verlo ya, mucha acción, zombies y el robo a un casino, estaba claro que iba a ver teniendo expectativas altas, pero hubo un momento que todo cambio y creo que mi mente me dijo "esto no es una película normal", pero antes de llegar a esa parte debo decir lo que me estaba pareciendo la historia antes de ese gran descubrimiento, justamente entre el primer y segundo acto, sentía que no estaba viendo la típica película zombie porque primero no hay un gran protagonismo de las clásicas criaturas hambrientas, segundo los protagonistas actúan sin ningún miedo o preocupación por estas criaturas, por momentos me preguntaba "¿Cuáles son los verdaderos motivos para estar ahí?" Pero creo que eso no es lo importante porque después me di cuenta que a pesar de contar parte del origen de la infección y de cómo fue manejada y contenida, creo que faltó mucho más para contar y eso lo tome porque sentí que los personajes ya habían pasado por eso y eso me hizo pensar de que esta historia es el origen para el espectador, pero no para los protagonistas y es ahí donde ocurre el gran descubrimiento, uno en donde puede dar un gran giro a la historia y que a mí me hizo detener el film y retroceder varias veces pensando en algunas otras teorías, sin ninguna duda eso hizo que cambiara mi perspectiva por el film y hasta creo que me gustó más de lo que pensaba, porque ahora esta historia pasó ahora ser de zombies, acción, robos, comedia y ciencia ficción.

"But I think that's not the important thing because later I realized that despite telling part of the origin of the infection and how it was handled and contained, I think there was much more to tell and I took that because I felt that the characters had already gone through that and that made me think that this story is the origin for the viewer, but not for the protagonists and that's where the great discovery happens, one where it can give a big twist to the story and that made me stop the film and go back several times thinking about some other theories, without any doubt that made me change my perspective for the film and I even think I liked it more than I thought, because now this story is now about zombies, action, robberies, comedy and science fiction.

   Entiendo que hubo personas que no les haya gustado el film porque no lo encuentran terrorífico o que le falte acción, yo sigo pensando que, aunque le falte originalidad o que abuse de muchas referencias creo que cumple en entretener, soy de los que pienso que Snyder arriesgó mucho a dejar todo para el acto final, por ejemplo, si este film se fuera hecho con una estructura como son originalmente este tipo de historias, seguramente las bajas de este grupo de mercenarios y ladrones fueran sido mucho más antes de llegar al caos final, por ejemplo, en Dawn of the Dead antes de finalizar, hay un enfrentamiento con los veloces zombies y no todos sobreviven a esa misión lo cual desencadena el plan del escape final, ahora en AotD no ocurre eso porque el plan de entrar a Las Vegas, robar e irse, es perfecto, solo existen cosas externas que no son partes del plan que desencadena la locura final, con esto doy una clara diferencia que hay entre una típica película con clásicos zombies con esta nueva que busca contar una nueva historia dentro de este género, pero tal vez de forma diferente, ambas dirigidas por el mismo director; no quiero caer en clasificar esta película en si es perfecta o no, porque no creo que busque serlo, no la considero que sea mala porque no le es, ¿la mejor? Sé que hay muchas cosas que se pueden hacer mejor y espero que en la secuela sea así y es por eso que al tomar este film como el origen de una franquicia es extraño y arriesgado porque seguramente cualquiera fuera usado el gran y excelente “Plot Twist” que existe en esta historia y lo usa en la escena final y eso sí que me gustó mucho de este film, esto me hizo apreciarla mucho más porque ceo que es genial y es algo que no había visto en el género, pero eso no solo es lo mejor, lo que considero lo mejor es lo que no nos cuentan, lo que debemos descubrir y que nos lleva a crear teorías y es que faltan muchas cosas que seguro podrán evolucionar aún más a esta historia.

   Another Army of the Dead review, how long are they going to keep writing about this movie? You must be sick and tired of seeing everywhere a review , opinion or news about Zack Snyder's latest. Even I'm wondering what the hell I'm doing writing about a movie that almost everyone must have seen by now. Besides, I don't usually post about what's hot. For example, I never posted a review of Joker because at the time they did like 100 posts about it. But this time I decided to dive into the sea of mainstrean and give my opinion.

   Otra crítica de Army of the Dead, ¿hasta cuándo van a seguir escribiendo sobre esta película? Deben estar hartos de ver por todas partes una crítica , opinión o noticia sobre lo último de Zack Snyder. Incluso yo me estoy preguntando qué demonios hago escribiendo sobre una película que casi todo el mundo debe haber visto ya. Además, no suelo postear sobre lo que está de moda. Por ejemplo, nunca publiqué una crítica de Joker porque en su momento hicieron como 100 posts sobre ella. Pero en esta ocasión he decidido sumergirme en el mar de mainstrean y dar mi opinión.

   Are you going to find anything new in this review? I probably won't bring any new ideas about the movie, because I'm pretty clear about what this movie is.

   Why do I do it? Because I feel like it and I want to refute many things I have read against this film, from specialized critics, with prestige, from those who write in the main newspapers, magazines and movie websites. Also from pseudo-critics (like me) who have rated the film negatively, but whose arguments can be dismantled.

   As I had not planned to write about this film, when I finished watching it, I dedicated myself to read the specialists in cinema, finding real Haters of the filmmaker saying thousands of barbarities. Some of them, for handling that style, are famous for destroying all the movies, they are also paid, like many others, by the production companies. Whether they speak well or badly doesn't matter, the important thing is that they talk about a subject. It is one of the premises of promotion and Netflix knows how to exploit this kind of negative campaigns that end up benefiting them economically, because the product becomes a success.

   Everything Zack Snyder does will be talked about, because he is a filmmaker who has millions of fans in the world, but he also has millions of haters.

   I have an explanation for the reasons that increased Snyder's haters. The director of the excellent adaptations of 300 and The Watchmen, when he was in charge of bringing movies from the DC universe to the big screen, caused the number of detractors to increase. Yes, because of the stupidity of those who live fighting over which universe is better, Marvel or DC. The geeks who pride themselves on being different are actually as primitive as soccer fans who fight to support the best in the world, Messi or Cristiano.

También de pseudocríticos (como yo) que han calificado negativamente la película, pero cuyos argumentos se pueden desmontar.

   Como no tenía pensado escribir sobre esta película, al terminar de verla, me dediqué a leer a los especialistas en cine, encontrando a verdaderos Haters del cineasta diciendo miles de barbaridades. Algunos de ellos, por manejar ese estilo, son famosos por destrozar todas las películas, también son pagados, como muchos otros, por las productoras. Que hablen bien o mal no importa, lo importante es que hablen de un tema. Es una de las premisas de la promoción y Netflix sabe explotar este tipo de campañas negativas que acaban beneficiándole económicamente, porque el producto se convierte en un éxito.

   Todo lo que haga Zack Snyder dará que hablar, porque es un cineasta que tiene millones de fans en el mundo, pero también tiene millones de haters.

   Tengo una explicación para las razones que aumentaron los haters de Snyder. El director de las excelentes adaptaciones de 300 y The Watchmen, cuando se encargó de llevar a la gran pantalla películas del universo DC, provocó que el número de detractores aumentara. Sí. Por la estupidez de los que viven peleando sobre qué universo es mejor, el de Marvel o el de DC. Los frikis que se enorgullecen de ser diferentes, en realidad son tan primitivos como los aficionados al fútbol que se pelean por apoyar al mejor del mundo, Messi o Cristiano.

   Es en base a esa lucha entre fans de Marvel o DC que voy a desmontar algunos de los ataques que se han lanzado contra la película. Pero antes, les contaré con mis propias palabras de qué va la película, por si no lo saben.

   Scott Ward is a former hero who rescued people when the city of Las Vegas fell and was cut off by the spread of a zombie virus. One day he is contacted by a millionaire named Bly Tanaka and hired to assemble a team of people to get $200 million out of a casino vault.    Army of the Dead offers everything I expected from it: ENTERTAINMENT!

   This is what is called popcorn cinema, to be enjoyed as a mass consumer product. I think it's clear from the trailer, the promotional campaign and the news since filming was announced, it was obvious what kind of movie.

   Snyder's haters seem to have wanted to see a film that was a treatise on zombie theories and delved into the impact on the environment if an epidemic similar to the one at the beginning of the film were to occur.Gentlemen! This is entertainment cinema.

   A suicide mission, break into a casino safe in a territory swarming with zombies at full speed, who when transformed take orders from the leader of the pack. They have organized themselves, Las Vegas has become their new kingdom.

   What did you want to see? Deaths, zombie fights, more deaths, bombs, lots of blood and more deaths. My dose of commercial cinema was satisfied with this crazy squad. What was missing more action? Maybe, but I assure you that the haters would have said it had too many action scenes. Because when you have already made too many prejudices, it is difficult to detail the positive aspects, the negative side will always prevail.

   This time Snyder has done slow motion than in the previous movies. I see this as a positive point, because it's an element of his filmography that for me is overused. Here it is dosed, which I like.

   Some of the reproaches made to the film, is that time is wasted in the subplot between Ward's conflicts and his daughter. It is with Ward's character that the director tries to give more depth. They may be partly right that the family drama drags on, but when we see the final part, I find the justification for Ward and his daughter to work out their differences and reconcile. If you've seen it you'll understand what I'm talking about.

   That they last too long introducing each character? That they are too flat? Well, being a movie with so many characters, each one with different and very marked characteristics, according to the clichés of this type of genre, it is logical that they take their time to make us feel empathy with this group of men and women who risk their lives for a fortune.

   The flat characters and the jokes I have read many negative reviews, the paradoxical thing about all this is that when I look for old reviews from those movie experts, I find that they praise Marvel's superhero movies. When these, suffer from the same errors with which they attack Snyder's film. Scenes with jokes in the middle of a tense situation, fight or battle. Everything they criticize in Army of the Dead is also present in those other movies that for them are a marvel. I notice that they don't keep coherence with their points of view. It is very important to have coherence.

   When I see a movie about a Marvel character, I expect it to deliver what it promises. Fun, escapism, enjoy a couple of hours of entertainment. Some do it better than others, but you can't ask for more than that. Army of the Dead, like those movies, delivers very well.

   Army of the Dead ofrece todo lo que esperaba de ella: ¡ENTRETENIMIENTO!

   Esto es lo que se llama cine palomitero, para ser disfrutado como un producto de consumo masivo. Creo que está claro que por el trailer, la campaña promocional y las noticias desde que se anunció el rodaje, era obvio el tipo de película.

   ¡Los haters de Snyder parece que querían ver una película que fuera un tratado sobre las teorías de los zombis y que ahondara en el impacto sobre el medio ambiente si se produjera una epidemia similar a la del principio de la película.Señores! Esto es cine de entretenimiento.

   Una misión suicida, entrar en la caja fuerte de un casino en un territorio plagado de zombis a toda velocidad, que cuando se transforman reciben órdenes del líder de la manada. Se han organizado, Las Vegas se ha convertido en su nuevo reino.

   ¿Qué quería ver? Muertes, peleas con zombis, más muertes, bombas, mucha sangre y más muertes. Mi dosis de cine comercial quedó satisfecha con este escuadrón de locos. ¿Qué faltaba más acción? Puede ser, pero os aseguro que los haters hubieran dicho que tenía demasiadas escenas de acción. Porque cuando ya te has hecho demasiados prejuicios, es difícil detallar los aspectos positivos, siempre prevalecerá el lado negativo.

   Esta vez Snyder ha hecho slow motion que en las anteriores películas. Lo veo como un punto positivo, porque es un elemento de su filmografía que para mí está sobreutilizado. Aquí se dosifica, lo cual me gusta.

   Algunos de los reproches que se le hacen a la película, es que se pierde tiempo en la subtrama entre los conflictos de Ward y su hija. Es con el personaje de Ward con el que el director intenta dar más profundidad. Puede que tengan parte de razón en que el drama familiar se alargue, pero cuando vemos la parte final, encuentro la justificación de que Ward y su hija resuelvan sus diferencias y se reconcilien. Si la has visto entenderás de lo que hablo.

   ¿Duran demasiado tiempo presentando a cada personaje? ¿Que son demasiado planos? Bueno, siendo una película con tantos personajes, cada uno con características diferentes y muy marcadas, según los clichés de este tipo de genero, es lógico que se tomen su tiempo para hacernos sentir empatía con este grupo de hombres y mujeres que arriesgan su vida por una fortuna.

   Los personajes planos y los chistes He leído muchas críticas negativas, lo paradójico de todo esto es que cuando busco críticas antiguas de esos expertos en cine, encuentro que alaban las películas de superhéroes de Marvel. Cuando estas, adolecen de los mismos errores con los que atacan a la película de Snyder. Escenas con chistes en medio de una situación tensa, pelea o batalla. Todo lo que critican en Army of the Dead también está presente en esas otras películas que para ellos son una maravilla. Noto que no mantienen la coherencia con sus puntos de vista. Es muy importante tener coherencia.

   Cuando veo una película sobre un personaje de Marvel, espero que cumpla lo que promete. Diversión, escapismo, disfrutar de un par de horas de entretenimiento. Algunas lo hacen mejor que otras, pero no se puede pedir más que eso. Army of the Dead, al igual que esas películas, cumple muy bien.

   All this has been criticized, personally I am not a fan of so many prequels and sequels, but if they are fun like the original movie, it is well worth it.    Todo esto ha sido criticado, personalmente no soy fan de tantas precuelas y secuelas, pero si son divertidas como la película original, bien vale la pena. Muchos han criticado, pero las críticas vuelven a ser incoherentes, porque la mayoría de los críticos aplauden cada vez que se anuncia una precuela, multiverso, secuela, etc. de Marvel.    Which was your favorite character?

   I think most people liked Dieter's character, because he was the only one who was not an expert in killing zombies, with no military training, his interactions with the other squad members, generated funny situations. I liked Coyote's character. I don't know, a strong and cunning woman, who falls into a trap, but at the same time destroys the traitor's plans. Also, I found the actress attractive. I loved the zombie leader and his queen, so I want to see more about the zombie kingdom that Snyder invented.

   And which character did you hate? I think most would agree with Ward's daughter. But that's precisely the function of her character. She's the one who will always break the rule and cause the plan to go awry, getting her father into more trouble. It was predictable that she would provoke dangerous situations because of her stubbornness.

A mí me gustó el personaje de Coyote. No sé, una mujer fuerte y astuta, que cae en una trampa, pero al mismo tiempo destruye los planes del traidor. Además, la actriz me parece atractiva.Me encantó el líder zombi y su reina, así que quiero ver más sobre el reino zombi que inventó Snyder.

   ¿Y qué personaje odiaste? Creo que la mayoría está de acuerdo con la hija de Ward. Pero esa es precisamente la función de su personaje. Es quien siempre romperá la regla y hará que el plan se desvíe, metiendo a su padre en más problemas. Era previsible que provocara situaciones peligrosas por su terquedad.

   I loved Army of the Dead and I want to see everything they are preparing to expand this universe. I like zombies, I'm one of the few who still watch The Walking Dead series and its spin off Fear The Walking Dead.

   It's a very exploited genre, some movies are not that good and it's hard to find something original. But Snyder's film doesn't pretend to do that either, just give us a few hours of excitement and fun.

   If you haven't seen it yet, I hope you do soon and have fun with this bloody mission of a group of fun characters.

   Me encantó Army of the Dead y quiero ver todo lo que están preparando para expandir este universo. Me gustan los zombis, soy de los pocos que aún ven la serie The Walking Dead y su spin off Fear The Walking Dead.

   Es un género muy explotado, algunas películas no son tan buenas y es difícil encontrar algo original. Pero la película de Snyder tampoco pretende hacerlo, solo darnos unas horas de emoción y diversión.
