  1. Kudos To Elsa Pataky —Review Of Interceptor (2022)@kemmyb1101d

    Source: Fair Use

I still have some films from 2021-2022 that I downloaded on my PC and have not watched yet. As I was tidying some folders yesterday, I came across this film hidden away somewhere. How did I miss it? And it features Elsa Pataky as the lead cast! I settled down and devoured it immediately.

I understand Interceptor (2022) is Matthew Reilly's directorial debut. The film begins with some details as to the timing Russian nuclear missiles take to deploy and how long it takes the two interceptor bases to stop the missiles before they explode on American soil. The main interceptor base, Fort Greely in Alaska, is under attack and the soldiers killed by terrorists.

    https://youtu.be/OQSoII4Bj1o Source: YouTube

In another scene, U.S. Army Captain J. J. Collins (played by Elsa Pataky), is on a helicopter, flying to the second interceptor base, SBX-1, located in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. She's anxious because she had been trolled and bullied for getting her superior, who sexually harassed her, fired.

As soon as she lands and checks in, her superior commander tells her to take her sidearm and report to the command centre as they just got wind of an attack on Fort Greely. SBX-1 is the only line of defence left against terrorists looking to launch nuclear missiles to destroy cities in the US. It turns out the terrorists are already in the base and the fate of the country's survival rests on Captain JJ's shoulders. Will she succeed in keeping the terrorists away from the command room and successfully intercept any launched missile?

    Review

This is the first film where I see Elsa Pataky in action! I admired her performance in the Fast & Furious series and thought this lady deserves her own film where she's the lead. Seeing her in this action thriller is fascinating.

Interceptor is a fast-paced action thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The plot is not a bad one—it's a straight up, oldies kind of action movie. Some bad men take the interceptor base hostage and try to disable the missiles so they can wipe out an entire country. They confront a one-woman team who wouldn't let them and against all odds, she wins.

The execution or storytelling of a plot is what matters in a movie and I can say, director Matthew Reilly did good with this one. The shine is on the two lead actors: Elsa Pataky and Luke Bracey, the protagonist and villain respectively. About 90% of the film takes place in one scene—the command centre of SBX-1 and these actors are convincing in their performance.

Although there are some plot holes, I still love the action sequences and fight scenes. They reveal the potential in Elsa Pataky regardless of what some pessimist critics say. I agree some scenes are implausible such as when the countdown was on and Elsa swung across bars to get to the launch button within two minutes. It's just humanly impossible but that's why this is a movie. Viewers see implausible scenes all the time in James Bond and Tom Cruise movies and they don't question it. So why criticise Elsa's stunts in this one?

I also like that there are references to sexual harassment and gender inequality in the military to give the plot more flesh. They are social issues that everyone is familiar with.

I think Elsa Pataky did great in her role as a badass army captain. With two or more action movies in her repertoire, she'll take her place among other badass female action actors in the industry. The supporting cast did great as well. I was surprised to see Chris Hemsworth acting the part of a salesman and find it funny.

Overall, I enjoyed this film. It's fast-paced, action-packed and entertaining.

Thank you for visiting my blog.

  2. MOVIE REVIEW: INTERCEPTOR || Worth your time? [ENG-ESP]@olujay1476d

Interceptor is an action drama film directed by Matthew Reily , with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) serving as an executive producer. It was released worldwide on the 3rd of June, 2022 and is exclusive to the streaming service, Netflix.

    ENGLISH

This movie just dropped, and it was already at number one on Netflix. I got confused. I mean, I had already seen the trailer, and it was not any different than your regular action movie trailer. So, I ignored it, as I am not really into action movies—everyone has their preferences. But there I was, doing my regular thing on HIVE, and I started seeing many blogs about it. And from their titles, the writers seemed to love it. Then I figured I had to see for myself.

I never thought I could have so many opinions about a movie after watching Interceptor; I was speechless. But not to give a dead give away and ruin it, we'll take it slow. First, let's talk a little bit about the movie, and then we'll discuss it.

    𝔸𝔹𝕆𝕌𝕋 𝕋ℍ𝔼 𝕄𝕆𝕍𝕀𝔼

America has two interceptor launch sites, one in Alaska and the other somewhere in the Pacific Ocean. The Alaska launch site, Fort Greely, is attacked by unidentified terrorists, and simultaneously, 16 warheads are stolen from Russian territory. The interceptors are now the only thing between the 16 missiles and the 16 targeted cities in the US.

Captain Collins J.J. has just recently been depolyed back to SBX-1, the second interceptor launch site, following her just concluded case of sexual assault by a superior of hers at her previous base of deployment, Paragon.   SBX-1 is unsure of the circumstances at Fort Greely as they lost contact with her. Eventually, they receive confirmation from Paragon, but it's too late as the traitors are already in action.

    IMG_20220613_220832.jpg Source

The traitors take down everyone in the rig, and now America's last line of defense is Captain J.J. Will she be able to stand up to the call against the traitors and save 300 million lives?

    𝕄𝕐 𝕋ℍ𝕆𝕌𝔾ℍ𝕋𝕊 & 𝕆ℙ𝕀ℕ𝕀𝕆ℕ𝕊

The movie gives the public some insights into how the defense from incoming missiles during attacks is carried out. It's actually quite interesting to learn about interceptor launches; how long it takes a missile to reach America and how long it takes to intercept it.   Having a female lead is a great way to show that women are as intelligent, capable, and resourceful as men are and shouldn't be underestimated. It also addresses the matter of fighting sexual assault regardless of the opinions of non-victims.   image.png

But then, it became countless how many times I raised my brows throughout the movie. In other words, I was mostly like "What on earth is this that I am watching?" The whole plot of the movie could have gone way better if the execution of the story had not gone the way it did. The movie reminded me of most of the reasons I have for not being into action movies.

Personally, I love a good story; a story that I can actually feel. I don't even take it that this movie even had a story; it was more like an "event". And as for the execution of the "event," it was way under the bar.   Even Matthew Reily said, "I am just as confused as everyone else to see Interceptor at number 1," and "I wanted it to be in the top ten, but I did not think it would be at number one," which tells some things about his efforts. I do not mean to say that he put zero effort into it. He had "the" Chris Hemsworth in his movie; that's not a joke. But wait! Isn't Chris Hemsworth married to Elsa Pataky, Captain Collins, and J.J.? I smell politics...   Let's get into the specifics of how this movie went:

    • Storyline

The entire story of this movie was something I had not seen in movies lately. Some things just did not make sense.

I went to military school for high school, and I know you don't just get to talk to your seniors anyhow; how much more in the Army? A sergeant is saying things to a captain without seeking permission.   Or maybe I'm just tripping.   Another is that just one woman takes down a group of traitors (about seven of them) all by herself. No way! Trained soldiers and military intelligence officers? At one point, she literally fought a man with one hand, and still won. Like, woman! You're not even Wonder Woman.   And how does someone jump into the ocean and then walk in with wet hair but dry clothes?  Attention to details is very important.

In short, the storyline is predictable and basic, and the fight scenes are just repetitive.

    • Cinematography

This is something that gives the effect you want your audience to perceive. But in the case of this movie, it was just a straight line.    The whole movie was shot in just one location, and some things still did not go well. Natural effects on motion and elements like wind, water, and gravity did not add up.

    • Acting

This aspect is the biggest aspect of selling the characters to the audience.    Firstly, I don't understand what the writer of the scripts was thinking; so many cheesy lines. I'm not a murderer; I'm a fucking patriot." And you literally kill the person trying to defend your country from your genocide. Like, what was that?   Secondly, I do not understand if it was a strict instruction from the producers for the actors to act the way they did. They all performed the same way, taking life from their characters.

    8DAuGnTQCLptZgjHUrRAJGcW4y1D4A5QVJJ7zjzqqKdfVHSS6NapSCCBfM4Kf4zjvFyxNXq4kZs7fXsLythTcgJYeoYxFavW9be1buyBgYT22tYuyTdtSgoYvjppXcDwLFWCsMkTEVdMJe7qJJ77B9bvEUWhtpcd3tfuiUz5iwQ.png

    𝔽𝕀ℕ𝔸𝕃 𝕋ℍ𝕆𝕌𝔾ℍ𝕋𝕊...

I still do not understand what the hype has been all about and how it got to the top ten. The world does not revolve around my opinion, and everyone has different preferences and tastes; I'll leave it up to you to decide whether it's worth your time.   And now, there's going to be a sequel to it. I can't think of what for, but I guess it is what it is.    When movie makers and distributors start to lose money for these kinds of movies, they'll begin to see that more effort has to be put into the movie rather than politics.    I'd rate the move a 4/10.

    SPANISH

Me confundí.

    [Fuente](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt14174940/mediaviewer/rm1803034369)

Me huele a política...

Algunas cosas simplemente no tenían sentido.

    8DAuGnTQCLptZgjHUrRAJGcW4y1D4A5QVJJ7zjzqqKdfVHSS6NapSCCBfM4Kf4zjvFyxNXq4kZs7fXsLythTcgJYeoYxFavW9be1buyBgYT22tYuyTdtSgoYvjppXcDwLFWCsMkTEVdMJe7qJJ77B9bvEUWhtpcd3tfuiUz5iwQ.png

    ℝ𝔼𝔽𝕃𝔼𝕏𝕀𝕆ℕ𝔼𝕊 𝔽𝕀ℕ𝔸𝕃𝔼𝕊...

  3. Exceptional! Interceptor (2022), Movie Review.@esther-emmanuel1481d

    Interceptor-208051131-mmed.jpg

Watching this movie was so satisfying and intense for me. Some movies make you so tense that you stand up while watching them because you are agitated and you feel like you could just be right in the movie with a snap of your finger. This is the movie.

For a long time, I had been waiting for Elsa Pataky's stand-alone action movie ever since she appeared in some sequels of the Fast and Furious series. The way she acted in the sequels gave me the vibe that she would be an amazing action movie actress and this movie proved me right. I hope the role she acted in this movie will be a role breaker for her in other future action movies.

The long-awaited Elsa Pataky's stand-alone movie, Interceptor is an American-Australian action movie with Elsa Pataky as its star actress. It was directed by Matthew Reilly who participated in writing the screenplay with Stuart Beattie. It was released on 3rd June 2022 with Netflix as its original distributor. The movie also featured Chris Hemsworth (as an Electronics salesman), with some other unfamiliar actors.

The movie is about an army captain who was assigned to a nuclear missile Interceptor base in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. A terrorist emergency attack happened and then she uses her years of tactical training to save humanity from sixteen nuclear missiles launched at the U.S from Russia that has been taken by terrorists who stole them. She was the only line of defense between her country and Russia.

A Little Synopsis Of The Movie

The movie started with Captain Collins being reassigned to one of the US interceptor launch sites in the middle of the Pacific Ocean which was like a form of demotion to her because of the past entanglement she had with a former discharged General from the pentagon sexual assault/harassment. While she was on her way to the newly assigned post, the other US interceptor launch sites in Alaska was been attacked by unknown terrorists as they took control of sixteen nuclear missile weapons.

    IMG_20220608_204735.jpg

    IMG_20220608_204819.jpg

The terrorists that seized sixteen nuclear missiles planned to launch every one of the missiles. Under the command of Lt. Col Marshall alongside two other officers, Shah and Baker, the site was attacked by a faction planted terrorists. This faction of the terrorist was led by Alex, a psychopathic spoilt billionaire son whose dad is an important citizen of the US. He hijacked the site after which all the officers on board were killed along with Lt. Col Marshall, leaving only Shah and Collins alive and Baker unconscious because a stray bullet grazed him. Alex took over the station with the help of Baker(a sleeper agent) after a while and then at gunpoint he took over the live feed of the whole country and broadcasted straight from the station as the citizens of America all watched what was happening.

    IMG_20220608_204944.jpg

    IMG_20220608_205031.jpg

Both Collins and Shah were held in restraints as Alex made arrangements for the first nuclear missiles to be released. Along the line, Collins broke free, attacked, and took back control of the station, locking Alex and Baker out. Out of rage Alex took Lt Col Marshall's laptop and authenticated the sink of the station into the ocean. Now the question is how did captain Collins defeat Alex? Did she survive up till the end? Were the nuclear missiles released? I would like to talk about all the scenes of the movie here, so You have to watch it to know what happened.

    IMG_20220608_205229.jpg

    My Opinion About The Movie

Like I said earlier, watching the movie was very satisfying for me, and kudos to the director and the team. They all did a great job. This movie did not only concentrate on the chaos (interceptors station attacked), it also explored the obstacles and difficulties women face in the military or force. Obstacles such as gender mockery, gender inequality, and sexual harassment which is usually at the top of the list of obstacles. It happens every day that some women don't dare to fight for themselves or speak out and if they do, they are called the enemy.

The scenes of the movie were well cast, and the stunts and action parts were well played. The violence in the movie was worth it, it wasn't too harsh but it was just right. Elsa Pataky acted her role perfectly well; it was like the role was meant for her. Some people had bad criticisms about this movie; that it was terrible, not sarcastic enough, and that during stunt scenes, there were failures. For me, I see none of the failures. The failure I saw was when Elsa was shooting at one of Alex's team and the person didn't seem to die which gave me a cyborg vibe from the Terminator series. It wasn't realistic to me because that doesn't happen in real life. When you are shot multiple times, you die not raised from the dead again. That scene wasn't real and was sarcastic.

My favorite scene was towards the ending which kept me anxious and satisfied as I watched it. It was a good ending and brought a smile to my face. The CGI of the movie was consistent and amazing and they did a great job with that. Also, the plot and setting of the movie were excellently done. Elsa Pataky did a great job with her role, for me, it was a success, and I clamor to see more of her standalone action movies.

    My Ratings and Recommendations

Rating this movie out of 10, I would give it 7, but if it were a star, this movie gets 4 stars from me. I enjoyed the movie, it was fun, thrilling, and above all intense. If I were to recommend this movie, I would recommend it to action lovers, young adults, and those who love heroine characters. This movie is a no-go area for children of 15years old and below because of the strong language and violence.

O M G, right off the bat I say it, what a great movie in life. For a moment it made me think of one I saw in the cinema called "ambulance" that I will surely give you a review soon, and is that both have something in common, that with very good (hahaha).

I mean, to me the truth is that it has been a hard task to get a good plot from start to finish on Netflix, when it is not that the development of the film is heavy, then it turns out that the endings leave you a bitter taste like "Mmm I'm done and now?".

This one was quite the opposite, as my boyfriend vulgarly says, we were squeezing our buttocks in every action scene. And is that the theme of the film is a bomb, and I mean that quite literally because it is a conflict nothing more and nothing less than the U.S. with Russia, but the particularity of all this is that those who carry out the main plan are patriots themselves, something that is quite ridiculous in my opinion, because the not well founded.

I had never seen this actress before but I start thinking about her role under another woman and the truth is that it doesn't fit me, because she has done it in such a natural way, with that rudeness that characterizes her and above all following to the letter that phrase so resonant of the plot that incites you not to give up like her.

Interesting that they included the fact that because she is a woman and being in the army, she can still be harassed by people who have a higher rank, and not only this, it makes it clear that ultimately machismo is contagious when it comes to seeing a woman included doing the dirty work.

Maybe they think that being a woman is the weakness factor, that if she breaks a nail or has no strength or skill with weapons, but uff, this woman shows the opposite, she is able to mutilate a finger to carry out the objective that basically is to save the entire US Nation from psychopaths who want to attempt with more than 300 million lives.

I love the suspense effect, because the problem with all of this is that since it's about the same compatriots for sure you don't know who is good or bad, but it's not something that happens throughout the plot, you certainly find out quickly because it's all part of a plan that's been in the works for several years.

But let's talk about the place where it all took place. It is supposed to be in the ocean, a facility that works to intercept guided bombs, missiles, nuclear bombs and even submarines.

The speed of these interceptors is mind-blowing, the problem is that it has a small margin of success and that is what makes the plot of this movie more interesting, as we talk about this facility being taken over by a group of terrorists who are very prepared for anything.

What I love the most is how raw she can be when it comes to fighting effects, she is not the typical heroine who only gets a scratch or a blow without bleeding, on the contrary, we see her almost on the verge of death, and that reflects how fierce her ambition is to prove that she can really save an entire country.

Although they try to weaken her, as in any movie, in a psychological way, we see that her reactions are forceful, considering that her job is to protect something very important, the lives of millions of people above even a family member.

However, there are some scenes that make you sigh with sadness. It must not be easy to know that you will not return alive to see your family and children or the simple fact that in your hands is the life of millions of people and that you must make decisions that will mark you forever.
