Hello everyone! Today I wanted to do a review of one of the most beloved series of all time, it is Malcolm in The Middle. Series that I'm sure you know and if you don't, right here I present it to you, so let's get to it!
Malcolm the Middleman is an American series of the Fox television franchise. This Sitcom aired back in 2000 and has a number of 7 great seasons, full of laughter, crying,craziness and a thousand other things.
The series is about the life of Malcom (the main character) and his peculiar family, the Wilkersons, who throughout each chapter will star in different situations. Although it seems to be a family series like any other, the curious thing is that who narrates these adventures is Malcom himself, who in several approaches speaks in first person directly to the camera. Plus, there's the factor that they are really funny. Meet the family.
¡Hola a todos! El día de hoy quise hacer una reseña de una de las series más queridas de todos los tiempos, se trata pues de Malcolm el de en Medio. Serie que estoy segura conoces y si no es así, aquí mismo te la presento ¡Así que vamos a ello!
Malcolm el de en Medio es una serie estadounidense de la franquicia televisiva, Fox. Está Sitcom salió al aire por allá en el año 2000 y cuenta con una cantidad de 7 estupendas temporadas, llenas de risas, llantos, locuras y mil cosas más.
La serie se trata sobre la vida de Malcolm (el protagonista) y su peculiar familia, los Wilkerson, quienes a lo largo de cada capítulo protagonizarán diferentes situaciones. Aunque parece ser una serie familiar como cualquier otra, lo curioso es que quién nos narra estás aventuras es el mismísimo Malcom, quién en varios acercamientos nos habla en primera persona directamente hacía la cámara. Además, está el factor de que, ellos son realmente divertidos. Les presento a la familia.

Lois, Malcolm's mother. A temperamental, strict, radical, sometimes sentimental, attentive, and integrated woman. Hal, is one of my favorite characters by far. An eccentric guy, tender, a little clumsy, cheerful, passionate and very funny. In short, a genius. Played by Bryan Cranston, we couldn't expect anything but excellent work. And unlike his role as Walter White in Breaking Bad, Hal's character does have a happy life.
Lois, la madre de Malcolm. Una mujer temperamental, estricta, radical, en ocasiones sentimental, atenta e integra. Ama muchísimo a su familia y los defenderá a toda costa pero estos suelen sacarla de sus casillas. Además Lois es la cabeza del hogar, quien suele poner el orden y mantener al temple a sus hijos y su esposo. Sí, a su esposo. Es interpretado por Jane Kaczmacek.
Hal, es uno de mis personajes favoritos por mucho. Un tipo excéntrico, tierno, un poco torpe, alegre, pasional y muy divertido. En definitiva, una genialidad. Interpretado por Bryan Cranston, no podíamos esperar algo más que un excelente trabajo. Y a diferencia de su papel como Walter White en Breaking Bad, el personaje de Hal si que tiene una vida feliz.

Then we have Francis, the rebel of the family. Francis is the eldest son of Lois and Hal and who has been sent to military school because of his bad behavior. Francis is for his younger siblings a figure of admiration and they constantly feel the need to be and be close to him.
Reese is the second son of the couple. He is characterized for being the "bully" of the school. He tends to be childish, a bit naughty, incredulous, innocent, impulsive, cheerful but above all, he loves the culinary arts.
Luego tenemos a Francis, el rebelde de la familia. Francis es el hijo mayor de Lois y Hal y quién ha sido enviado a la escuela militar debido a su mal comportamiento. Francis es para sus hermanos menores una figura de admiración y constantemente sienten la necesidad de ser y estar cerca de él.
Reese, es el segundo hijo del matrimonio. Se caracteriza por ser el "matón" de la escuela. Suele ser infantil, un poco malo, incrédulo, inocente, impulsivo, alegre pero por sobre todo, ama las artes culinarias.

Now let's go to Malcolm, the one in the middle. Malcolm is a genius, in the strictest sense of the word. He has a high IQ and is considered the smartest in his family. Malcolm, despite being brilliant in his studies, has some difficulties to develop as a normal boy at school and at home. He is characterized by his impulsiveness, is self-centered, stubborn, arrogant, shy, analytical, sometimes sacrifices himself for his family. I think ironically, he is the least liked character in the series because of some of the behaviors he has, however he is still a great character.
Let's go now to Dewey, my second favorite character in the series. Dewey is the fourth son of the couple and is characterized by being tender, witty, charismatic, intelligent, sometimes manipulative, kind and very funny. Being the youngest until the arrival of Jaime, the last son of the couple (well, actually they have one more son after Jaime) he enjoys some privileges such as the condescension and support of his parents. He is also one of the geniuses of the family as he possesses special musical skills and plays the piano.
Ahora sí vamos con Malcolm, el de en Medio. Malcolm es un genio, en un sentido estricto de la palabra. Posee un alto coeficiente intelectual y es considerado en su familia como el más inteligente. Malcolm a pesar de ser brillante para los estudios, tiene algunas dificultades para desarrollarse como un chico normal en la escuela y en su casa. Se caracteriza por su impulsividad, es egocéntrico, testarudo, arrogante, tímido, analítico, en ocasiones se sacrifica por su familia. Creo que irónicamente, es el personaje menos querido de la serie por algunos de los comportamientos que tiene, sin embargo sigue siendo un gran personaje.
Vamos ahora con Dewey, mi segundo personaje favorito de la serie. Dewey es el cuarto hijo del matrimonio y se caracteriza por ser tierno, ocurrente, carismático, inteligente, en ciertas ocasiones manipulador, bondadoso y muy divertido. Al ser el más pequeño hasta la llegada de Jaime, el último hijo del matrimonio (bueno, en realidad tienen un último hijo más luego de Jaime) goza de algunos privilegios como la condescendencia y el apoyo de sus padres. Además, es uno de los genios de la familia ya que posee habilidades musicales especiales y toca el piano.

This is more or less a summary of some of the main characters of the series. However, there are a few more characters that keep them company, such as Craig, Stewie, Malcolm's Nerds' friends, Dewey's friends, Francis' bosses, Lois' mom, Francis' wife Aida, Piama and a long etc.
Of course, many of the things that were shown in those years are not well seen in today's times. Things like, the fact that Lois is actually very aggressive and puts a lot of pressure on Malcolm's men, being the one she sees as the family's hope for the family to move forward. Hal neglects his responsibilities and delegates them to Lois. The family is dysfunctional. Hal and Lois are from a working middle class background and really reflect a very realistic family. It's a large household, money is tight and some things don't work as they should.
However, despite the above, what is appealing about the series, is that as you will see, none of the characters are good or bad, they all have their virtues and their flaws. This makes their work more human during the development of the main characters and it is easy to identify with them. The brotherhood and loyalty that exists between them despite the rivalries, fights and differences they have. The love that Hal and Lois have for each other and how they support each other in every circumstance and try to solve problems. The value of friendship and family that we can see on screen. Which I find redeemable and appropriate for any time of life. Which makes Malcolm, el de en Medio an endearing series and one of the best family comedies of its time. Es más o menos un resumen de alguno de los personajes protagónicos de la serie. Sin embargo hay algunos personajes más que hacen compañía a estos, tales como Craig, Stewie, los amigos de Nerds de Malcolm, los amigos de Dewey, los jefes de Francis, la mamá de Lois; Aida, la esposa de Francis; Piama y un largo etc.
Claro está que muchas de las cosas que se mostraban en aquellos años no son bien vistas en tiempos actuales. Cosas tales como, el hecho de que Lois es en realidad muy agresiva y pone una presión muy grande en los hombres de Malcolm, al ser quien ella considera como la esperanza de la familia para que está salga adelante. Hal descuida sus responsabilidades y las delega a Lois. La familia es disfuncional. Hal y Lois son de una clase media trabajadora y realmente reflejan una familia muy realista. Es un hogar numeroso, el dinero es escaso y algunas cosas no funcionan como deberían.
Sin embargo, a pesar de lo anteriormente dicho, lo que atrae de la serie, es que como podrán ver, ninguno de los personajes es bueno ni malo, todos tienen sus virtudes y sus defectos. Lo cual hace más humano su trabajo durante el desarrollo de los protagonistas y es fácil identificarse con ellos. La hermandad y la lealtad que existe entre ellos a pesar las rivalidades, peleas y diferencias que tienen. El amor que Hal y Lois tiene el uno por el otro y como se apoyan en cada circunstancia e intentan resolver los problemas. El valor de la amistad y de la familia que podemos ver en pantalla. Lo cual me parece rescatable y adecuado para cualquier momento de la vida. Lo cual vuelve a Malcolm, el de en Medio una serie entrañable y una comedia familiar de las mejores en su tiempo.
