I have not read the work of Frankenstein, but I have seen several movies with different versions of this monster created by man, in all these movies I never saw that the creator was a woman, I like to watch movies of real stories and ancient times so I chose Mary Shelley without knowing anything else, It began with a young girl who lived in a house with a library and this escaped from her responsibilities at home to go to read in her favorite place the cemetery stories that had to do with ghosts and horror, living under the yoke of her stepmother always had fights and friction with her, which caused her father to send her with relatives to another country to study and mingle with other people, she was already a teenager and was old enough to commit.

Her family is cultured, they have many books and at that time having a book was expensive and a luxury for most, besides women did not have great roles in society and it was not essential that they knew how to read, but Mary was very intelligent and ambitious, she admired her deceased mother and wanted to be like her, her father treated her with love and did not repress her desire to express herself, deep down he wanted her to go with her mother. Once Mary arrives in distant lands, she adapts easily to the new society where philosophers, writers and poets gather, falling in love at first sight with a very saga man who uses his ability with words to make the most intelligent of them all fall in love, soon Mary's sister gets sick and her father sends for her, she comes worried and when she arrives she realizes that her sister was faking depression, which she regrets because she did not want to leave, as she was already in love with that poet.

This man follows her to his country and asks to be sponsored by Mary's father, to be closer to her and to be able to satisfy his intention of falling in love, Mary's family is going through economic hardship that they can not sustain so they accept the request of this man who is wealthy, but his wealth comes from the inheritance of his father, taking advantage of his closeness with the family he begins a courtship with this young woman and soon after they find out that he is married and has a daughter, but Mary is already in love at first she felt hurt and deceived, the very cunning man told her the speech of all unfaithful men that he was separated and she had no choice but to surrender. She went through the insults and insults of her family, to be a social reject, for interfering in a marriage, tired of everything, decided to run away with him and his sister, make a new life, weighing that they would not spend work after all was a millionaire man, but his father disinherited him and were left on the street.

Su familia es culta, poseen muchos libros y en esa época tener un libro era costoso y un lujo para la mayoría, además las mujeres no tenían grandes papeles en la sociedad y no era indispensable que supieran leer, pero Mary era muy inteligente y ambiciosa, admiraba a su madre fallecida y quería ser como ella, su padre la trataba con amor y no la reprimía de sus ganas de expresarse, en el fondo él quería que fuera con su madre. Una vez que Mary llega a tierras lejanas, se adapta fácil a la nueva sociedad donde se reúnen filósofos, escritores y poetas, quedando enamorada a simple vista de uno muy zagas que usa su habilidad con las palabras para enamorar la más inteligente de todas, al poco tiempo la hermana de Mary se enferma y su padre la manda a buscar, ella acude preocupada y al llegar se da cuenta de que su hermana fingía depresión cosa que lamente porque no quería irse, pues ya estaba enamorada de ese poeta.

Este hombre la sigue a su país y solicita ser apadrinado por el papa de Mary, para estar más cerca de ella y poder satisfacer su intención de enamoramiento, la familia de Mary está pasando por apuros económicos que no pueden sostenerse por eso aceptan la petición de este hombre que es adinerado, pero su riqueza viene de la herencia de su padre, aprovechando su cercanía con la familia comienza un noviazgo con esta joven y al poco tiempo se enteran de que es casado y tiene una hija, pero Mary ya está enamorada al principio ella se sintió herida y engañada, el muy astuto le dijo el discurso de todos los hombres infieles que estaba separado y ella no tuvo más que rendirse. Paso por los insultos e improperios de su familia, a ser una rechazada social, por inmiscuirse en un matrimonio, cansada de todo, decidió huir con él y su hermana, hacer una nueva vida, pesando que no pasarían trabajo al fin y al cabo era un hombre millonario, pero su padre lo desheredo y quedaron en la calle.

Mary se vuelve sarcástica, amargada, seria y cerrada en su mundo suelta todo su dolor y frustración en la escritura, solo que nada de lo que escribe la satisface mientras el dolor por la perdida de su hija y el vacío por no tener una madre crece, un día va a una obra de teatro y mira que por medio de impulsos eléctricos mueven las anclas de una rana en esa época la medicina estaba haciendo nuevos descubrimientos y decían que podían revivir a los muertos, esa fantasía se quedó en la cabeza de Mary dándole forma a su obra gótica Frankenstein.
