If you are a lover of fantasy series like The Originals, Kanchi, 9 Tail Fox, and the rest, then you would love the series "My Demon." My Demon is a K-drama that was released on November 24, 2023. It's funny how I mention this series to people because I really enjoyed it, but it seems almost everyone has watched it.

"My Demon" is an engaging K-drama that skillfully combines elements of fantasy, romance, and drama. The story centers around a young woman, "Do Do Hee" who enters into a contract with a demon to seek revenge for her family's death. Normally this demon "Jeong Gu-Won" doesn't like associating with humans, but fate has something else planned for them. On the night, he tried to make a contract with her just to get her soul, and the source of his power was transferred to her, and that was the beginning of the drama.

One thing I love about this series was the fast pace of events, the storyline was easy to understand yet the suspense was intriguing. Many at times, I feel like I know what will happen next, so I fast forward some scenes only to find myself rewinding so I can understand what really happened.

The acting in "My Demon" is superb, with standout lead performances. The production values are high, featuring impressive cinematography, special effects, and a haunting soundtrack. I love it when Jeong Gu-Won uses his power, there is a particular sound that comes from the screen that gives you a chill, and you then know a demon is about to unleash his power.

One thing the series was trying to portray is that some demons are like guardians yet not all of them are good. In the movie, it was shown that the demons still submit to God who was disguised as a woman living an ordinary life in the series.

One thing you should look out for in the movie is that Jeong Gu-Won has been living amongst humans for more than 200 years which means he has a past that he doesn't remember but after losing his power, he discovered how he became a demon and what led him down that part, was the new lady in his life a coincident or it was fate who brought them together again. You will have to find out by watching it.

Rating and Recommendation.

I am not a lover of Kdrama series but this one, I'll give "My Demon" 4.5 out of 5 stars, and over 10, I would give it a solid 9/10. It's a must-watch for fans of fantasy and romance dramas. If you enjoy K-dramas with power and beautiful storylines that have romance, action, drama, and many more. I will recommend "My Demon" to you. Thanks for reading.

Hello dear community of @movies&tvshows a pleasure to stop by and make this post about a K-drama that I saw recently and I really liked it, I had not been introduced to see them much, but this particular one caught my attention because I have seen this kind of topics a lot in terms of anime, but not in a series, in this case in a K-drama called My demon.

It is based on a story of a young Jeong Gu-won (Song Kang) apparently human but he is really a demon focused on making deals with humans, granting any wish except killing or resurrecting, the deal lasts 10 years, after that he will come to find them and take their soul to hell, is what he does day by day, however, at one point he meets Do Do-Hee (Kim Yoo-jung) who will change his life completely as Jeong's power is based on a tattoo on his wrist and this is transferred to her.

It really is an interesting story not only because of the theme of demons, God and destiny that pulls the strings of all, but also incurs a mystery with the death of Do Do's parents, the lust for power to know who wants the company for himself and threatens the life of her, the drama that lives between the family that adopted her and the role she has as a demon to make deals if or if to stay alive.

Realmente es una historia interesante no solo por el tema de los Demonios, de Dios y el destino que mueve los hilos de todos, sino también incurre un misterio con la muerte de los padres de Do Do, las ansias de poder el saber quién quiere la empresa para sí y amenaza la vida de ella, el drama que se vive entre la familia que la adopto y la función que tiene como demonio de hacer los tratos si o si para permanecer con vida.

Ciertamente haciendo referencia al demonio es una crueldad lo que hace de cumplir un deseo y luego llevarte al infierno, pero nos enseña que así es la vida, sabemos que nada es gratis y se basa en decisiones, tu escoges lo que quieres, te platean las opciones y está en tu mismo aceptar o no, así como también te muestran que en el interior de cada uno hay un demonio, si nos damos cuenta como seres humanos tenemos cosas buenas y malas, las decisiones que tomemos, las acciones que ejecutemos definirán nuestro destino y lo que realmente somos o queremos ser, a veces excusamos diciendo que es culpa de alguien más pero simplemente es la verdad que en nuestro interior somos los responsables, no por tener poderes o hacer tratos es un demonio en la extensión de su palabra, a veces es más demonio aquel que es capaz de sacrificar una vida por solo cumplir su objetivo, te hace cuestionar de quien en realidad es el demonio.

Before I get to answer the question I have thrown at myself, I'd love to commend those who made this series possible and also those who got it to trend and a lot of people have been talking about it. For someone who always wait till a series is concluded before watching it, I got tempted to start seeing "My Demon" much earlier than when it ended.

Obviously, this is because the series was getting so much hype and I could say I've seen a lot of it's scenes from reviews on Tiktok and even on WhatsApp status. It was impossible to say I've never heard of the series, My Demon before I got to see it in full.

Well, I've seen the series and I can only respond to the question in one kind of way... Not so much worth the hype.

Maybe I expected way too much or the errors I saw were too much that it almost override the other beautiful parts of seeing the series. No, I'm not saying I regretted seeing the series. I'm actually happy I did and I enjoyed my time on it but from someone who had seen a lot of fantasy kdramas, I pinpointed some errors from this one even when I didn't want to.

I won't necessarily call them errors as they were only going by the scripts given to them but I felt some scenes were not necessary, some were done too thoroughly lol and some kinda went slow that I was on forward button to get to the next scene.

But I love the storyline, the twists and the Comedy in it. It got through till the end to say, it was worth the watch but can't say, it was worth the hype. I bet a lot of kdrama fans would agree that "Tale of the Nine Tailed" is far more better than this one regardless of the different storylines.

Well, let's get down to a bit of this series storyline before I conclude on my thought.

The series is about a 200 years old demon who isn't able to remember how he became a demon but enjoys his job making deals with humans by trading their greed with their souls and he goes to take their souls after 10 years. I still don't get that "after ten years" part, maybe it's for this particular series or it's a kinda thing connected to what happens in reality lol.

The Demon starred by Song Kang tries to make another deal with a lady who is in trouble but ends up losing his power mark to the lady and things led him to being around the lady whenever he has to use his power. A demon who finds humans very insignificant became a bodyguard to a human girl and love began to blossom between them.

He has a chef and a dancer who I feel their roles were felt in the series but a few of the scenes given to them were unnecessary but it is fine, maybe to get the series longer or something lol.

The series is also about a chaebol lady Do Do Hee starred by Kim Yoo-jung, who lost her parents at a young age and was adopted by a chaebol woman who left her bigger part of inheritance to her. The series showed a lot of scenes where Do Do Hee has the fight for what was left behind for her even when it felt right that the inheritance be left for the real family of the deceased woman.

Well, her life wad put to danger a good number of times in the series and all that led her to the Demon who kept protecting her until the end while they fell in love.

I'm not giving even a 70% to their love chemistry but I think the storyline of the series played a role in how that should go. But in all, I'd say the supporting characters played really good roles in getting the two to come to terms of their true feelings.

I'm most especially giving a big kudos to the twist in this series, it was so fulfilling and I love that it had a happy ending considering it's a fantasy series and a bit of a sad ending wouldn't have hurt either. So because of that and other reasons, I'll rate this series a 7/10.

Hola mis queridos lectores de Hive y amantes del mundo cinematográfico ❤️ una nueva semana comienza y con ella y nueva recomendación para mirar, en esta oportunidad les voy hablar de una de las últimas series coreanas que miré, con un título que parece más intimidante de lo que parece ya que la serie juega entre el drama, la comedia y el romance, algo clásico que caracteriza a este tipo de doramas. Al ser nueva en la plataforma Netflix, prácticamente estrenada a finales del año pasado, me pareció muy interesante y decidí darle una oportunidad y ver un poco de que trataba la historia, si bien contiene escenas delicadas con mucha violencia y sangre explícita no aptas para todo público, en lo personal el fondo de la historia es muy buena que te atrapa desde el primer episodio.

Si te gustan esas historias con aire de fantasía, creo que está te gustara, ya que como bien lo dice el título "Mi adorable demonio" (My Demon), la historia se centra en un demonio llamado Jung Gu Won interpretado por (Song Yang), quien vive en el mundo de los vivos para ofrecerles contratos a las personas que necesitan ayuda o se ven en graves problemas, pero en lugar de ayudarlos, como buen demonio, les pedirá su alma en un determinado tiempo a cambio de un deseo...muy tentador para alguien que necesita desesperadamente una salvación, aunque eso le cueste la vida.

Por otro lado tenemos a su compañera protagónica Do Do Hee interpretado por la carismática (Kim Yoo-jung), una chica empresaria, dueña y prisionera de su trabajo, rodeada de una familia que la acogió en su niñez debido a una tragedia y que hoy después de muchos años y tras la muerte de la cabeza familiar, buscan deshacerse de ella para obtener todo el poder de la herencia. Un día todo cambia para ambos protagonistas cuando se conocen por difíciles circunstancias, ella perseguida por un psicópata asesino y él quien encuentra a la protagonista como su próxima víctima para concederle el deseo a cambio de venderle su alma al diablo. Pero, como era de esperarse, algo ocurre e impide que los malvados planes de Jung Gu Won se lleven a cabo, ya que durante una cinemática se aprecia como ambos son interceptados con un auto por el agresor y son lanzados al mar, al principio ambos inconscientes pero Do Do Hee logra despertar salvando al demonio, un acontecimiento que tendrá consecuencias para ambos.

La razón al principio parece incierta pero una vez ambos están concientes y a salvo en tierra firme, Jung Gu Won se da cuenta que no tiene su poderoso tatuaje el cuál es su fuente de sus poderes (privilegios de ser un demonio), y se fija que en la muñeca de Do Do Hee si lo está...?. Cómo es esto posible?, sin sus poderes el demonio no es nadie más que un simple mortal, a menos que Do Do Hee este cerca ya que al tocar su tatuaje los poderes vuelven aparecer, algo así como un teléfono que necesita su cargador para funcionar, palabras exactas de los protagonistas 😄. Es entonces cuando ambos deciden mantenerse juntos y ayudarse mutuamente para resolver sus problemas, solo que a medida que transcurre y se desarrolla la historia en los episodios las cosas para ellos se van complicando cada vez más, aunque como era de esperarse, no estarán lejos de enamorarse y sentirse atraídos en el proceso o hasta que el demonio recupere sus poderes y la vida de ambos vuelva a la normalidad...o eso esperan.

Esta serie tuvo su final hace poco en la plataforma Netflix, aún para LATAM transmitían los episodios y la verdad que me gustó mucho, estuvo muy entretenida y sin duda fue un historia diferente, fresca y con buenas actuaciones por parte del elenco, con un desarrollo de personajes e historia que te enganchas desde el minuto uno. Mi puntuación para esta película sería un 9 de 10 porque además la química entre los protagonistas era muy buena y eso como espectador y amante del género se agradece 🥰. Aquí les comparto el tráiler para que la disfruten y se animen a verla si es que aún no lo han hecho.. y ya luego me cuentan que tal les pareció 😸.

Hello my dear readers of Hive and lovers of the film world ❤️ a new week begins and with it and new recommendation to watch, this time I will talk about one of the last Korean series I watched, with a title that seems more intimidating than it looks since the series plays between drama, comedy and romance, something classic that characterizes this type of doramas. Being new on the Netflix platform, practically released at the end of last year, I found it very interesting and decided to give it a chance and see what the story was about, although it contains delicate scenes with lots of violence and explicit blood not suitable for all audiences, personally the background of the story is very good that grabs you from the first episode.

If you like those stories with an air of fantasy, I think you'll like this one, because as the title "My Demon" says, the story focuses on a demon named Jung Gu Won played by (Song Yang), who lives in the world of the living to offer contracts to people who need help or are in serious trouble, but instead of helping them, as a good demon, he will ask for their soul in a certain time in exchange for a wish. ...very tempting for someone who desperately needs salvation, even if it costs him his life.

On the other hand, we have her partner Do Do Hee played by the charismatic (Kim Yoo-jung), a businesswoman, owner and prisoner of her work, surrounded by a family that took her in as a child due to a tragedy and that today after many years and after the death of the head of the family, they seek to get rid of her to get all the power of the inheritance. One day everything changes for both protagonists when they meet under difficult circumstances, she pursued by a murderous psychopath and he who finds the protagonist as his next victim to grant her wish in exchange for selling her soul to the devil. But, as expected, something happens and prevents the evil plans of Jung Gu Won from being carried out, as during a cinematic we see how both are intercepted with a car by the aggressor and are thrown into the sea, at first both unconscious but Do Do Hee manages to wake up saving the demon, an event that will have consequences for both.

The reason at first seems uncertain but once both are conscious and safe on the mainland, Jung Gu Won realizes that he doesn't have his powerful tattoo which is the source of his powers (privileges of being a demon), and notices that Do Do Hee's wrist is...? How is this possible, without his powers the demon is no one but a mere mortal, unless Do Do Hee is around because when he touches his tattoo the powers reappear, something like a phone that needs its charger to work, exact words of the protagonists 😄. That's when they both decide to stick together and help each other to solve their problems, only that as the story goes on and develops in the episodes things for them get more and more complicated, although as expected, they won't be far from falling in love and feeling attracted in the process or until the demon gets his powers back and both of their lives go back to normal...or so they hope.

This series had its finale recently on the Netflix platform, even for LATAM they transmitted the episodes and the truth is that I really liked it, it was very entertaining and it was certainly a different story, fresh and with good performances by the cast, with a development of characters and story that hooks you from minute one. My score for this movie would be a 9 out of 10 because also the chemistry between the main characters was very good and that as a viewer and lover of the genre is appreciated 🥰. The first K-drama I will review in 2024 is My Demon, the last series starring Song Kang before he enters the South Korean military draft. This life-shattering story of a human and a demon who steal the existence of mortal beings is available on Netflix.

The series has 14 episodes aired out of the official 16, but on Netflix Latin America, you will only find 12 of them. This is because the series is a production made by the South Korean network SBS and then broadcast on Netflix. In short, it is a series produced in collaboration with both agencies.

I have only seen 12 episodes so far, and I think that is enough to form an accurate opinion about the plot. Song Kang gives an admirable performance in this story, and his character has a volatile personality. This volatility is demonstrated by his coldness and feelings after losing his powers as a demon.

The character played by Song Kang is Jeong Goo-won, who is not human but eccentric. Enough to captivate the protagonist of this story, which, by the way, is not at all easy.

Hasta los momentos sólo he visto 12 episodios, y creo que es suficiente para efectuar una opinión certera sobre la trama. Song Kang hace una actuación digna de admirar en esta historia y en donde su personaje posee una personalidad volátil. Ésa volatilidad la demuestra debido a su frialdad y sentimientos luego de perder sus poderes como demonio.

El personaje que interpreta Song Kang es el de Jeong Goo-won, alguien que no es humano, pero si excéntrico. Lo suficiente para cautivar a la protagonista de esta historia que, por cierto, no es para nada fácil.

¿Cuál es el argumento? La historia se centra en que Jeong Goo-won es un demonio que no siente ninguna emoción y ha vivido por más de doscientos años. Un hombre frívolo, pero que es capaz de cautivar a los humanos por su extraordinaria belleza. Sin embargo, él debe firmar un contrato con un ser humano y arrebatarle la vida luego de cumplido su deseo en 10 años. In the plot, there are also scenes that make you criticize human values; it puts on a scale what is good and what is bad. Also, the series judges what you want to get just for revenge; nothing that goes out of that way is good.

The reflections go beyond the simplistic and what we believe to be basic. What do I mean? Certainly, this K-drama possesses several elements that dissuade the way of thinking while investing a sufficiently striking romance.

One of my favorite scenes was when a knife pierced Jeong Goo-won's chest. This moment in the plot is shocking. You feel the pain, sadness and hardship of the protagonist. Art!

Las historias cálidas como estas, llenas de fantasía y, sobre todo, con giros excepcionales tienen una riqueza argumentativa única, que resulta atractiva, entretenida y también impresionante.

En la trama también hay escenas que hacen que critiques los valores humanos, pone en una balanza lo que es bueno y malo. También la serie juzga lo que deseas obtener sólo por venganza, nada que salga de ése camino es bueno.

Las reflexiones van más allá de lo simplista y lo que creemos básico. ¿A que me refiero? Ciertamente, éste K-drama posee varios elementos que disuaden la forma de pensar mientras se inviste un romance lo suficientemente llamativo.

Una de mis escenas favoritas fue cuando un cuchillo perforó el pecho de Jeong Goo-won. Éste momento en la trama es impactante. Sientes el dolor, la tristeza y la penuria del protagonista. ¡Arte!

The innocence that evokes fantasy is also elemental in this plot; it is beautiful and magical. Although it hurts, there are a lot of things that happen in it. It's all about timeless play; a story of the past is the same as the present, or unfolding.

The costumes are really elegant. I was very surprised to see styles that I would only see in Italian or European magazines, but that touch combined with the photography and the visual shots gives a neatness to the story that transports you to the first-world South Korea of today.

The special effects are also good and not excessive. I particularly liked the use of them in a tango dance scene. It's something atypical, but it combines Asian and Western cultures.

There are several antagonists in the story, but it is clear from the beginning that many of them are manipulated by a single person, and that is the enemy that the protagonists must defeat. Of course, after understanding that they love each other, there are a lot of obstacles that are not easy to overcome.

Song Kang unquestionably goes into military service after starring in one of his best K-dramas. Kim Yoo-jung also deserves credit for his character, who conveys a lot of emotions. The touch that can't be missing in this plot is the comedy; it's a part that gives it meaning and a necessary light. The perfect ingredient to connect with the viewer. I'll read you in the comments.

La inocencia que evoca la fantasía también es elemental en ésta trama, es hermosa y mágica. Aunque duelen muchas cosas que suceden en ella. Todo es por el juego atemporal, una historia del pasado es la misma que la del presente o que se desarrolla.

El vestuario es realmente elegante, me sorprendió mucho ver estilos que solo vería en revistas italianas o europeas, pero ese toque combinado con la fotografía y de los planos visuales otorga una pulcritud a la historia que te transporta a la Corea del Sur del primer mundo de la actualidad.

Los efectos especiales también son buenos, y no excesivos. Me gustó en lo particular que los usaran en una escena de baile de tango. Es algo atípico, pero que combina la cultura asiática y occidental.

En la historia hay varios antagonistas, pero se nota desde el inicio que muchos de ellos son manipulados por una única persona y ése es el enemigo que los protagonistas deben vencer. Claro, después de entender que se aman hay una alta cantidad de obstáculos que no son fáciles de superar.

Indiscutiblemente Song Kang se va al servicio militar luego de protagonizar uno de sus mejores K-dramas. Kim Yoo-jung también merece un mérito por su personaje que trasmite muchas emociones. El toque que no puede faltar en esta trama es la comedia, es una parte que le da sentido y una luz necesaria. El ingrediente perfecto para conectar con el espectador. Te leo en los comentarios.

I have this thing for K-dramas because their storyline, plot twists and actions are top notch. Inasmuch as there's lots of fantasy, there are true to life events, and mostly unpredictable. I also watch K-dramas because of their fashion sense as it really inspires me

There's this stereotype amongst my peers that K-dramas are about love that leaves girls daydreaming instead of focusing on reality. I believe they have this idea because they've only been introduced to one with slow pacing and predictable boring romance. My Demon is that series that has everything a person could ever want in a film; suspense, action, romance, fantasy, name it.

This is a delightful Netflix series that revolves around the life of a chaebol heiress, Do Do-hee and a demon, Go-won. Do Do-hee faces lots of criticism and hate when Ms Ju the woman who took her in after her parents death wills her company to her.

On the other hand, the demon Go-won goes around making deals with humans by granting their wishes and taking their souls after their agreed time elapses. These deals he makes with humans makes him more powerful and ruthless. On one of the nights he sought for a human to strike a deal with, he comes in contact with Do Do-hee and saves her from the hands of the man who tried to kill her but somehow, the source of his power gets transferred to Do Do-hee.

To get his power back, he had to work hand in hand with Do Do-hee by becoming her bodyguard to conquer everything and everyone that stood in their path. Each time they were apart, something tragic happened and to avoid that, they had to cohabit to conquer their fears and numerous enemies.

The only character I'm familiar with in this film is Song Kang, who plays the role of the powerful demon. It's ironic because he's too cute to be playing that role compared to other films I've seen where the demons are terrifyingly ugly. He plays the role of a CEO and a demon pretty well.

The film is colorful, intriguing, action packed with a nice touch of humor and sprinkles of emotions. I really enjoyed watching it because of its entertaining storyline and plot twists. I was unable to predict the characters and events, and was completely on edge till the last episode.

I'd rate this a 4.5/5. I'm not rating it a complete five because I didn't like the way it ended. Inasmuch as it didn't end tragically, I wanted more. I wanted revenge, wanted more show of power and dethronement but none of that came forth hence the disappointment. I'm hoping there's a season2 someday but while I wait, I'd leave the rating at what I've given it.

If you're into K-dramas you should see this one. It's not the regular romance thing, you know. There's more to this series than romance.
