Hello superhero fans. That's right, this day is special, as we will be talking about the first official installment of our "Friendly Neighbor" from Marvel Comics and one of my favorite superheroes of this franchise, Spider-Man. Being the second time they reboot this universe, this time to join it to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the movie ended up being so criticized by fans, comparing it to the previous two versions of the wall-crawler. However, after seeing the three movies that came out, I have to admit that this is the best version of "Spider-Man" I have seen, without a doubt. Produced by Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures, this movie was distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, as they have the rights to the character. Tom Holland stars in the title role, along with the participation of actors such as Michael Keaton, John Favreau, Laura Harrier, Zendaya and Daniel Glover. This is a movie made by and for superhero fans.

    Plot

After the events of the "Captain America: Civil War" movie, young Peter Parker (Spider-Man), who was recruited directly by Tony Stark (Iron Man) to be a temporary member of "The Avengers", returns to Queens to continue his studies at the Midtown School of Science and Technology. Stark tells him he still can't be a full-time Avenger, so he sends him back along with the suit he made for him. Back in school, Parker quits the school's academic decathlon team so he has more time to "fight crime" as Spider-Man in his hometown. One such day, he encounters a group of vandals attempting to rob an ATM with unknown advanced weapons.

On his way back to his apartment, he meets his best friend Ned, who discovers his secret identity. Ned promises not to tell his secrets to anyone, but in return asks Peter to involve him in his "Superhero" life by being his sidekick. The two search for the source of the weapons they are selling in the neighborhoods of their city while encountering some very dangerous people. In a chase, Spider-Man is thrown into a river by a man with giant mechanical wings and claw-like devices on his legs, thus having a form of a Mechanical Vulture. Peter is rescued from drowning by Iron Man, who is always monitoring him because of his suit. Tony advises him not to try to be a hero and to live a normal teenage life, but Parker ignores him, worried about what this gang of criminals armed with alien technology will do.

    Trama

    Trailer & Review

Below, I will leave you the trailer of the movie:

    20240522_150315_0000.png

I still remember the first time I saw this movie, excited to see what the next Spider-Man would be like, who this time would achieve what Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield couldn't at the time (and that was already expecting a lot, after all that these two great actors achieved). Nobody had hopes for Tom Holland, who was heavily criticized since his appearance in the third Captain America movie. But more was the criticism that Marvel Studios received when deciding to include this character without a beginning or a previous development, only with a cameo that would seek to give "HYPE" to a saga with a previously prepared ending. In the end, far from the high expectations, strong criticisms and unnecessary comparisons, I enjoyed this movie and I still enjoy it every time I watch it. It is one of those superhero movies that moves away from great classics and tells us only a part of a great story.

Let's start with how this movie begins, without the previous story of how Peter Parker got his spider powers or how he became the hero he is now. Far from it, we see what happened after the events of the third Captain America movie, where Tony Stark met and recruited a teenager, super smart and with exceptional power. Back home, our excited Peter decides to devote more time to being a hero by guarding the streets of Queens dressed as Spider-Man. When he learns of an unknown threat prowling the streets, he is confronted with a harsh reality: the hero's life is not what he expects it to be. His responsibilities as a student and teenager limit him from fulfilling his dreams of being part of something bigger. But, it is his desire to save people that motivates him not to give up everything.

This movie tells us a funny, different and emotional story, with characters that we can easily identify with, laugh at or make fun of, as well as a teenager with superpowers but with a very innocent mind constantly getting into trouble, misunderstandings and very embarrassing moments with his equally adolescent peers. The life of the great Peter Parker we see in this story is not unlike that of any teenager, only with "a great power... which carries with it a great responsibility". And it is that responsibility that motivates him to go ahead and fight evil, even without his spectacular costume created by one of the most brilliant minds in that universe, Tony Stark. His role as the guardian shows us a side of my favorite hero that we haven't seen in previous Iron Man movies. The relationship he has with Peter is easily comparable to that of a Father, one that he never had.

Aside from so many funny, touching and dramatic moments, this movie also boasts some incredible special effects, not to mention some very well done CGI. The way this is shown in the action scenes, the costumes, the weapons, the explosions, the sights and the sceneries that this movie has, everything looks so good, just like Marvel Studios has always managed to do until then. Apart from that, it has a great cast, starting with the main character, played by Tom Holland, who fulfills his role of being the teenager dressed as a hero who throws jokes and fights crime very well. But, among all, there is also the villain, which is played by none other than the great Michel Keaton, playing an excellent role that no comparisons are necessary. The sound effects and soundtrack of this movie is also very well done and blends very well with the scenes and moments. In short, if you are a Spider-Man fan and haven't seen this movie yet, now is an excellent time to do so.

Personally, I give it an 8/10 rating as far as the action/comedy/adventure/superhero genre is concerned.

Greetings friends, today I come to share with you another wonderful movie based on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

This movie takes place after the story Avengers: End Game.

I will show you a short summary and my opinion of why I recommend this series. This summary will not contain spoilers for the series, it's just to give you a reason to watch it.

    Fuente / Source

    Los Personajes que me Gustaron:

    Peter Parker:

    The Characters I Liked:

    Peter Parker:

After everything happened in Avengers: End Game and half of the inhabitants of the earth returned to it is a disaster, as those who left for 5 years now returned with their same age, but those who remained are now 5 years older than those who returned, The younger people are now the oldest.

As there are no Avengers to protect the earth, everyone asks our friend Spider-Man of what, if he will be in charge of the avengers now, as most of them disappeared without a trace.

Being a young boy, our friend is not prepared for all the responsibility that would now fall on him, leading him to make a mistake that would cost him his personal life.

    Fuente / Source

    Mysterio:

    Mysterio:

We are introduced to a person with somewhat peculiar powers, in which he appears out of nowhere facing an elemental creature, being Nick Fury the witness, seeing all this he recruits to work together with Mysterio to face the other elementals that remain.

He explains that these elementals are mythological characters and were the ones who destroyed a planet earth after what happened in Avengers: End Game, and that the same thing is happening here.

But is this really the case, and is Mysteryio hiding a dark secret?

    0693895.jpg-r_1920_1080-f_jpg-q_x-xxyxx.jpg

    Fuente / Source

    Nick Fury:

    Nick Fury:

Nick Fury was one of those who disappeared 5 years ago thanks to what happened in End Game, and being a person who kept everything under control, was the one who was closer to all the Avengers and other organizations, this to return as the others after those 5 years he finds that everything he knew and everything he knew is no longer the same.

Being very few who are left that he knew begin to seek answers and try to start over everything he had built, to meet Mysterio this trusts him, as he was fighting some elemental beings who are currently attacking the earth, but soon discover that many things are not so.

    Fuente / Source

    Happy Hogan:

    Happy Hogan:

Happy being Tony's right-hand man and the one who was in charge of supervising our friend Peter, acting as a mentor for him, since he is still young and still has a lot to learn.

But what we will also see is that, thanks to his good chemistry with our friend's aunt, he has a very good relationship with her, being a kind of friend-couple that Peter will discover.

By having certain technological tools from Tony, he gives that support to Peter so that he can face this problem that he will have to face, and he will have to fix thanks to a mistake that Peter made.

    Fuente / Source

¿Quién Traicionara a nuestro Spider-Man?

The Heir to the throne and a weight that does not want to carry:

Not being the Avengers and not knowing anything about those who still remained, people turn to Spider-Man, as it is the only Avenger who still see after what happened, being named the new Iron-Man and head of the Avengers, as the others are not found.

Having been chosen by Iron-Man all the responsibilities fall on him, but he does not want to, as he is not prepared for such a thing, he just wants to help and have a mentor and someone to talk to about these things, which will lead him to make a terrible mistake that will cost him his future.

When called by Nick Fury and presented to him, he gives him the inheritance that Tony left him, leaving the crown to our friend Peter, and he accepts it for the moment, as Nick leaves him the message that Tony left him with his crown, "How uncertain the head that wears this crown" showing that Peter is the person in whom Tony trusted the most and believed that he would do the right thing.

But being so young and unprepared for such weight, he will make the worst mistake of his life.

What will that mistake be? What power did Tony leave to our friend Peter? Who will betray our Spider-Man?

You will find out when you see the story of this movie.

    Conclusion

I liked the movie, the way it tells the story is good, they take their time to explain the things and details that happen in it, they have good special effects and the soundtrack is good.

The acting of each of the actors is good, each one brings their personality to each role they were given. My 4 favorite actors are Spider-Man, Nick Fury, Mysterio, Happy Hogan.

Seeing how Spider-Man carries his development in life by having so many responsibilities despite his age and having to deal with everything, wanting to just lead a normal life as a person, and that he just wants to help others and not have such a charge, makes us understand him and get attached to him.

Not having a father figure and seeing how he just wants to find a mentor and someone to support and understand him and the sadness he has of having lost Tonny, shows us that this boy has a lot of weight in his head.

The saddest or strongest scene of the whole movie is when Nick demands that he has to make a decision, to stop being immature in front of life and take charge of everything he has behind him and that he must take that dissection, because if he does not do it he would be betraying Tonny's decision, since he would be proving that he was wrong.

Being for our beloved Peter Parker, one of the strongest words that have been said to him and that for him, he did not ask for such a thing.

Seeing how not everything in Tonny's life was perfect and that he has done things that have had consequences for others, shows us another side of the story in which we were used to, creating enemies capable of destroying the planet in order to gain control of it.

I liked all the special effects in this movie along with Mysterio, to see that he has such power without the "power" is good to see. If you see this movie, you will understand that comment.

In this movie, he shows us the basis for something big in the currently still unconfirmed Secret Wars?

The target audience for this movie is 13 years and older, it is good for family viewing and enjoyment.

    Los Personajes que me Gustaron

    Peter Parker:

    ¿Otro Spider-Man?

    Peter Parker:

We see how after the conflicts between Captain America and Iron Man, Spider-Man was as support in the team of Iron Man, since the film teaches us more about the life of this Spider-Man, being a young and inexperienced to life, knowing that, He is not a normal person and that his powers to have shared with Iron Man and the rest of superheroes leads him to make some mistakes for lack of maturity, wanting to leave everything to belong to the Avengers, which he forgets one of the most important things in life which is humility, and be a stable person to face all these responsibilities.

Peter Parker being a very smart person, thanks to that, he has managed to create such a strong and good web to combine it together with his special abilities, which makes him different from his older counterpart.

    Iron Man y Spider-Man:

    Iron Man and Spider-Man:

The relationship that these two characters have is very nice, we see how Iron Man sees Spider-Man as if he were a son, and in turn Spider-Man sees Iron Man as a father and in this story they do it very well.

Many people did not agree with the decision of Iron Man in wanting to recruit this young man, as he is still inexperienced and has much to learn, but Iron Man decides to believe in him and sees great potential in Spider-Man, to hear from this young man that a group of people are stealing weapons, as these are dangerous, he believes him and advises him that he will take care of this situation, but wanting to prove to Iron Man that he can with these responsibilities, he makes a big mistake, causing Iron Man to remove the suit and shows him that Spider-Man is no one without the suit.

    Conclusion

I liked the movie, the way it tells the story is good, they take their time explaining things and the details that happen in it, they have good special effects and the soundtrack is good.

The acting of each of the actors is good, each one brings their personality to each role they were given, my two favorite actors were Spider-Man and Iron Man.

The chemistry they both have is unique and it really feels like they are truly father and son.

In this story we see Spider-Man develop more as he involves us in his daily life, showing us how he will grow as time goes on and learn from his mistakes.

Tom Holland as Spider-Man I loved, it looks like he has a great future with his development as Spider-Man.

I recommend watching it 90%, I did not tell more parts of the story so you can enjoy watching it.

  4. Spider-Man: Homecoming Movie Review 🎥😊@vikbuddy1808d

I like superhero movies very much, and a huge Marvel fan.

Most of the superhero movies are exaggerated, but this movie got me interested to some extent because it made me think that it could be. I remembered it and found the movie again and watched it from the beginning.

The movie starts with how the villain became a villain. Stark's base was destroyed and some were demolishing the site. However, while they were demolishing it for a while, they suddenly received a notice telling them to stop because another company was doing it. He tries to plead, "We have a family that comes with us," but the conclusion has already been reached. The protesting man comes out with a mineral that emits a peculiar glow during demolition work. And he uses that mineral to create a weapon with tremendous power that is not on Earth, and starts a smuggling trade. He was making a lot of money without being detected by the Avengers or the police by smuggling carefully on a small scale.

And our protagonist, Peter, is a student who is only 15 years old. They gather members to join the Avengers team and give them an internship, and smart Peter is also selected here.

Peter, who seems to be able to do anything in the world yet, says it's strange when he is called by Stark for intern training, taking videos, taking selfies, and doing repairs. Stark presents Peter with a Spider-Man suit. And to Peter, who still has an internship.

Don't be shy, move within your own boundaries, gives his first order.

Excited to join the Avengers of his dreams, Peter puts on the Spider-Man suit that Stark gave him and wanders the neighborhood waiting for his official assignment. For example, finding the way to his lost grandmother, catching a thief who stole a bicycle, but leaving a note telling him to go back because the owner of the bicycle does not know ...

Then, at night, he sees a bank robber robbing a bank and rushes to the scene again. But they had a dangerous weapon. He tells Stark that he's found a huge horde of evil, but he's only warned to keep quiet.

So, he follows the bank robbers to find out the source of the weapons they used. Stark warns him not to go out of scope, so he says he's going to attend a 'scholarship contest' as a school event and chases the criminals.

He went to a contest and his friends were in danger, but he's still a terrifying Spider-Man with a phobia of heights. He also meets the boss of the villain and tries to do well, but only works.

Nope, he cut his stomach in two. He gets help from Iron Man, who can't solve the problem on his own.

Peter's favorite girl, Liz, is in love with the unknown Spider-Man. Even though she knows she's Spider-Man, she wonders if Liz will like her. But she had a bigger hurdle that couldn't be achieved with Liz...

Can two of these heavenly axes become members of the Avengers? And will Stark add Peter, who doesn't listen to her, as his member?

Perhaps, if anyone was offered to become a member of the Avengers, they would live with excitement like Peter, waiting for each day.

Movies related to the Avengers are said to be interconnected. There are some parts that you may don't understand if you have not watched earlier marvel movies. I really enjoyed 'Spider-Man: Homecoming'. It is fanatic and great cinematic experience.

  5. Insomniac Movie Marathon: Spider-Man Homecoming@rvgenaille2399d

    image -via IMDb.com

Spider-man Homecoming is the long awaited collaboration between Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures that officially brings Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In that weird timeline, this one follows after Captain America: Civil War, a film I don't don't really care for. Granted, Spider-Man was a highlight of that one in what amounts to essentially a cameo. This new iteration of the Spider-man follows the rather bad Amazing Siper-man flicks, recasting the hero with Tom Holland as Peter Parker and tossing in Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man.

Michael Keaton shows up as Adrian Toomes, the Vulture. The story begins eight years previous, immediately after the first The Avengers movie and Toomes is cleaning up after the damage. Removed by government order, Toomes is overextended and in financial trouble. When he realizes he has a load of alien technology, he decides to keep it and move forward and become a bad guy. Cut to modern day, post Civil War and Spider-Man is bored by his daily, ordinary existence and waiting for Stark to call him back to action. Then the Vulture shows up on his radar and all hell breaks loose, so to speak.

    The Good:

    Michael Keaton is awesome.

    Tom Holland is awesome.

    Marisa Tomei is awesome.

This film takes a more comedic approach to the superhero genre that is refreshing. I see that in the trailers for Thor: Ragnarok and it has me looking forward to it too.

I love that this is not an origin story but that it's a story about a teenage boy who is trying to be everything to everyone.

I am a fan of Downey and especially him in the role of Stark. The father/son relationship he builds with Peter is very strong. So is Tomei's relationship with Peter for that matter.

    The Not so Good:

Mostly, I'm just tired of the superhero genre so that's the main complaint here. This one is a refreshing take at this point.

Very enjoyable flick! Just liked it more than I thought I would.

  6. Spiderman: Homecoming - I didn't like it@gooddream2661d

To be honest, i don't just not like this movie very much but I also don't really like the re-invented Peter Parker. I'm not really sure what they are going for with this but it doesn't appeal to me. No offense to Marvel fanbois out there.

    [source](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/45/d4/2e/45d42e70a036ec2a7c5dd96f7afa9a37.jpg)

This movie has been around since 2017, but like a lot of the cinematic features that happened in the past decade it slipped past me without me even knowing. Maybe it is because I don't like it when superheros become too whimsical, but the prankster, almost whiny and overly cartoonish portrayal of Spiderman just kind of annoys me.

If you aren't familiar with the film this is the 2nd reboot of the Spiderman franchise. Although I didn't much care for the 1st reboot either I did enjoy how they tried to make it a bit dark and more serious. This film is a superhero film, so the backstory isn't really necessary and spoiler alert! Spiderman wins in the end.

MV5BYzk0NDQzZDctOWMzMi00YTUxLWE3ZDUtMGQxZWYxMmI1Nzk4L2ltYWdlL2ltYWdlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyMjM1NjkwMDI@.V1.jpg source the boat was split in half, it would have sank anyway

Although i realize it is simply a personal preference of mine as to why I didn't enjoy this film I also understand that Marvel probably doesn't view me as their primary demographic and it is important to them to appeal to the most youthful audience as possible for the sake of merchandising and maintaining the ability to continue to have reboots galore. Therefore, from a business perspective I can completely understand why they would do this.

On the plus side, Michael Keaton's portrayal of Vulture was really really good.

    0 AOC7ccOObMPEOoca.jpg source

If you look at professional reviews of the film their opines are rather divided; some loved it, others not so much. However, everyone agrees that Keaton was fantastic and I quite enjoyed the character as well and hope to see him again in future films.

The film that managed to go global without me even knowing it existed until nearly 2 years after its release managed to pull in nearly $900 million on a budget of $175 million. Pretty impressive but I am starting to feel like this is "par for the course" as far as Marvel features are concerned.

On a scale of "Urgh!" to "Wowsers!" I give Spiderman: Homecoming a score of....

    "Mildly meh!"

  7. 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' by Jon Watts: Well, it's not good, but it's not terrible@namiks2891d

    SpiderMan.jpg

I'm not a fan of superhero movies, this is something I've made clear quite a few times in the past here on Steemit. My reasons for disliking them ranges across the board from overall production annoyances to structural issues.

That said, Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy is one that I can connect with. It was made during a different time in which superheroes were still a niche and not some convoluted mess of origin stories and connected universes. Nor did they feel like massive budget, low-effort films riddled with plot problems and embarrassing amounts of special effects.

I did see Marc Webb's The Amazing Spider-Man films, but I believe they were the beginning of the end in terms of quality. The moment the Spider-Man films would no longer remain grounded and dive into constant reboots that are each as unappealing as the last.

The story feels kind of rushed in parts, as certain events take place almost immediately for the sake of reducing the run-time, which is still rather long. There are action sequences that seem to occur for the sake of an action sequence, and don't really have much weight on the overall narrative itself -- you'd assume Spider-Man's action sequences would continuously be a lesson on how he himself can be better at his job.

Although, Spider-Man: Homecoming does feel a little more grounded, it's just held captive by the annoyances of a cinematic universe; the film doesn't feel like it's really about Spider-Man, nor does it feel like any of his actions are necessary. It's burdened with the obnoxious and distracting appearances of other superheroes throughout, and its disappointing to see constant references to this cinematic universe as it's clear how irrelevant Spider-Man is in it.

Spider-Man is no longer carrying the weight of his actions, no longer fighting crime while desperately trying to keep his family safe, and it feels as if there's never any consequences. There's the odd moment in which the film certainly does feel like it's a Spider-Man film, but it's distracting poor special effects and references ruin that immersion a little.

Despite my issues with the film, I wouldn't say it's bad. I'd say it's an okay film in which you won't be surprised, but you won't be bored either. It's something you'd put on when you're quite bored and don't feel like paying too much attention to something. It's just another superhero flick that doesn't offer much.

It is the second Spider-Man film reboot and the sixteenth film of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Jon Watts, from a screenplay by the writing teams of Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, Watts and Christopher Ford, and Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. Tom Holland stars as Spider-Man, alongside Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Jacob Batalon, Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. In Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker tries to balance high school life with being Spider-Man, while facing the Vulture.

In February 2015, Marvel Studios and Sony reached a deal to share the character rights of Spider-Man, integrating the character into the established MCU. The following June, Holland was cast as the title character and Watts was hired to direct. This was followed shortly by the hiring of Daley and Goldstein. In April 2016, the film's title was revealed, along with additional cast, including Downey in his MCU role of Tony Stark / Iron Man. Principal photography began in June 2016 at Pinewood Atlanta Studios in Fayette County, Georgia, and continued in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York City. The other screenwriters were revealed during filming, which concluded in Berlin in October 2016. The production team made efforts to differentiate the film from previous Spider-Man films.

Spider-Man: Homecoming premiered in Hollywood on June 28, 2017, and was released in the United States on July 7, 2017, in 3D, IMAX, and IMAX 3D. Homecoming has grossed over $880 million worldwide, making it the second most successful Spider-Man film and the fourth highest-grossing film of 2017. It received positive reviews, with critics praising the light tone and focus on Parker's high school life, as well as the performances of Holland and Keaton. A sequel is scheduled to be released on July 5, 2019.

Tom Holland as Peter Parker / Spider-Man: A 15-year-old who gained spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically-modified spider.[7] Producers Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal were impressed by Holland's performances in The Impossible (2012), Wolf Hall (2015), and In the Heart of the Sea (2015).[8] Holland took inspiration from previous Spider-Man actors Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield, but also hoped to deliver something "new and exciting" with his take on the character,[9] the first to focus on Parker as "dealing with everyday problems that a 15-year-old deals with as well as trying to save the city".[10] Holland attended The Bronx High School of Science in The Bronx for a few days to prepare for the role,[11] where other students did not believe he was cast as Spider-Man. Holland felt this would carry over well to the film, where other characters do not suspect Parker of being Spider-Man.[12] It took 25 to 45 minutes for Holland to get into costume, depending on if he had to wear a stunt harness underneath the suit.[11] Holland initially signed for six MCU films, including three Spider-Man films.[13] Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes / Vulture: A salvager-turned-arms-trafficker after his company is forced out of business. He uses a suit with mechanical wings forged from Chitauri technology.[14] Toomes is revealed to be the father of Liz, Parker's love interest.[15] Director Jon Watts wanted him to be a "regular guy", closer to John C. Reilly's Nova Corpsman Rhomann Dey from Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) than other MCU villains like Thanos and Ultron, to go with Spider-Man as a "regular kid who becomes a superhero".[16][14] This helped avoid Toomes drawing the attention of the Avengers, and provided someone that Parker would be able to defeat while still learning to use his abilities.[17] Keaton said Toomes was not completely villainous, as "there's parts of him that you go, 'You know what? I might see his point'".[18] Co-producer Eric Hauserman Carroll likened Toomes to "the dark Tony Stark",[14] a "businessman with a family. He wants to look out for his kids ... He doesn’t have these big delusions of grandeur where he wants to take over the world, or replace the government, or even defeat the Avengers or anything. He just wants his shot at the good life".[19] Keaton was not hesitant to portray another comic book character after playing Batman in Tim Burton's 1989 film and its 1992 sequel.[18] Jon Favreau as Harold "Happy" Hogan: The former head of security for Stark Industries and Tony Stark's driver and bodyguard.[20] Hogan is "looking after" Parker in the film, with Favreau saying that Parker "needs someone to help him out".[21] Favreau previously portrayed Hogan in the Iron Man films, having also directed the first two of those, and described returning as just an actor as fun, allowing him "to maintain the relationship with the MCU ... Especially when the filmmakers are taking care of you, and taking care of the characters and the story".[22] Zendaya as Michelle "MJ" Jones: One of Parker's classmates,[23][24] Zendaya called her awkward but intellectual, "she just feels like she doesn't need to talk to people".[25] She added that it was "refreshing" that Michelle was weird and different, feeling that "a lot of young people—especially young women—can relate to that".[26] Watts likened the character to Ally Sheedy's Allison Reynolds from The Breakfast Club (1985) or Linda Cardellini's Lindsay Weir from Freaks and Geeks (1999–2000).[19] The character is not an adaptation of Mary Jane Watson, but was given the initials "MJ" to "remind you of that dynamic",[27] with the writers "plant[ing] the seeds in this movie" for comparisons to Watson, but also making her "wholly different".[28] Feige added that Michelle is "not obsessed with" Parker like Watson is at times in the comics, "she's just observant".[27] Donald Glover as Aaron Davis: A criminal looking to purchase weapons from Toomes.[29][30] Davis is the uncle of Miles Morales, a version of Spider-Man, in the comics. Glover voiced Morales in the Ultimate Spider-Man television series, and campaigned to portray Spider-Man in a film in 2010. Watts was aware of the campaign, and as soon as he was hired he asked Feige about casting Glover. The role was designed as "a surprise treat for fans", with Davis mentioning his nephew to set up Morales potentially appearing in a future MCU film.[30] Tyne Daly as Anne Marie Hoag: The head of the U.S. Department of Damage Control.[31][32] Marisa Tomei as May Parker: Peter's aunt.[33][34] First reports of Tomei's casting caused backlash on social media, with comic book fans opining that the actress was "too young and attractive to portray the character",[35] especially after the character had previously been depicted by older actresses than Tomei. Regarding the casting, Captain America: Civil War co-writer Stephen McFeely said that, for the MCU, they were trying to make Peter "as naturalistic as possible...That's partly why his aunt isn't 80 years old; if she's the sister of his dead mother, why does she have to be two generations ahead?"[36] Carroll added that the creative team was looking for more of a "big sister" or someone closer in age to Peter Parker in the casting process.[37] After researching the character, Tomei did make "a case to age me up, but no they didn't do it".[38] Tomei felt there was a "blank slate" from which she could develop the character, and talked to Watts about May being "a community organizer or invested in the neighborhood" to indicate where Peter's values come from.[39] Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark / Iron Man: A self-described genius, billionaire, playboy, and philanthropist with electromechanical suits of armor of his own invention, who is Parker's mentor and is the creator of the U.S. Department of Damage Control.[40][19] Sony Pictures Motion Picture Group chairman Thomas Rothman noted that, beyond the commercial advantage of featuring Downey in the film, the inclusion of Stark was important due to the relationship established between him and Parker in Captain America: Civil War.[41] Watts noted that after Stark's actions in Civil War, introducing Parker to life as an Avenger, there are "a lot of repercussions to that. Is it a first step towards Tony as some sort of mentor figure? Is he comfortable with that?"[42] Co-writer Jonathan Goldstein compared Stark to Ethan Hawke's father character in Boyhood (2014).[17] Additionally, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kerry Condon, and Chris Evans reprise their roles as Pepper Potts,[43] F.R.I.D.A.Y.,[44] and Steve Rogers / Captain America from previous MCU films, respectively. Rogers appears in public service announcements played at Parker's school.[45] Jacob Batalon portrays Parker's best friend Ned,[23][46][47] a "complete gamer",[48] whom Batalon described as "the quintessential best guy, the best man, the number two guy, the guy in the chair" for Parker.[49] Marvel used Ned Leeds as a basis for the character, who does not have a last name in the script or film, but essentially created their own character with him. Carroll said that Ned and other characters in the film are composites of several of their favorites from Spider-Man comics, and while Ned may eventually wind up with the last name "Leeds", it is not a guarantee.[47] Laura Harrier portrays Liz, a senior, Parker's love interest, and Toomes' daughter,[50][51] with a "type-A" personality.[19] Tony Revolori plays Eugene "Flash" Thompson, Parker's rival and classmate.[51][52] It was noted that the character is generally depicted as a white bully in the comics; the Guatemalan American actor received death threats upon his casting.[51][53] Revolori worked hard "to do him justice", as he is an important character to the fans.[51] Rather than being a physically imposing jock, Thompson was re-imagined as "a rich, smug kid" to reflect modern views of bullying,[54] by crafting him more into a social media bully and rival for Parker opposed to a jock;[53] this depiction was largely informed by Holland's visit to The Bronx High School of Science.[11] Revolori said that Thompson has to work hard to match Parker's intelligence, which is "one of the reasons he doesn't like Peter. Everyone else seems to like Peter, so he's like, why don't they like me like they like him?" Revolori gained 60 lb (27 kg) for the role.[53]

Garcelle Beauvais portrays Doris Toomes, Adrian's wife and Liz's mother,[55][56] and Jennifer Connelly provides the voice of Karen, the A.I. in Parker's suit.[44] Hemky Madera appears as Mr. Delmar, the owner of a local bodega.[57] Bokeem Woodbine and Logan Marshall-Green respectively play Herman Schultz and Jackson Brice, both incarnations of Shocker;[19][58][59][60] they are accomplices of Toomes who use modified, vibro-blast shooting versions of Crossbones' gauntlets.[19] Michael Chernus plays Phineas Mason / Tinkerer,[61][14] and Michael Mando appears as Mac Gargan.[62][32] Faculty at Parker's high school include: Kenneth Choi, who previously played Jim Morita in the MCU, as Jim's descendant Principal Morita;[63][60] Hannibal Buress as Coach Wilson,[64] the school's gym teacher, who he described as "one of the dumbass characters that don't realize [Parker is] Spider-Man";[65][66] Martin Starr, who previously had a non-speaking role in The Incredible Hulk (2008),[67] as Mr. Harrington,[60] a teacher and academic decathlon coach;[68][69] Selenis Leyva as Ms. Warren;[70][71] Tunde Adebimpe as Mr. Cobbwell;[57] and John Penick as Mr. Hapgood.[72] Parker's classmates include: Isabella Amara as Sally;[73][74] Jorge Lendeborg Jr. as Jason Ionello;[73][75] J. J. Totah as Seymour;[73][76] Abraham Attah as Abraham;[77][60] Tiffany Espensen as Cindy;[55][78] Angourie Rice as Betty Brant;[79][80] Michael Barbieri as Charles;[81][82][75] and Ethan Dizon as Tiny.[75] Martha Kelly appears in the film as a tour guide,[83][57] and Kirk Thatcher makes a cameo appearance as a "punk", a homage to his role in Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.[84] Spider-Man co-creator Stan Lee also has a cameo, as a New York City apartment resident named Gary who witnesses Parker's confrontation with a neighbor.[85][86] Jona Xiao was cast in an undisclosed role, but did not appear in the final film.[87] ..::ScreenShot::..

  10. Insomniac Film Festival #76: Spider-Man Homecoming@rvgenaille3163d

    image -via IMDb.com

  11. Spiderman: Homecoming - Your Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman@coldsteem3262d

spiderman.jpg I was not a fan of Andrew Garfield as Spiderman. Which made me skeptical about Tom Holland as the new and improved Spiderman. But he pulled it off. The new Spiderman worked for me. A teenage kid blogging his exploits and live streaming epic Avenger battles? Yeah, that sounds about right for Spiderman.

Spiderman: Homecoming gets back to it's roots, even if it is embedded in the broader Avengers storyline now. I like it. Peter Parker still gets to be a kid. He isn't telling everyone who he really is and he doesn't act like a "grown up" superhero. He's struggling to find his way. He has to worry about things like prom and school competitions. He uses an "internship" at Stark Enterprises as cover for his adventures. Adventures that become, well, complicated.

And I think that may be what really made this movie stick out to me. The struggle is real. And the villain is oddly likeable. A feat pulled off effectively by Michael Keaton as Vulture. I like Keaton much more as a villain than superhero. I really didn't care for him as Batman. But he threads the needle as a villain that we kind of care about. Just a little.

    vulture.jpg

Peter Parker balances a normal school life with his drive to help people. But sometimes he screws up. Stopping a guy who merely locked his keys in the car. And creating neighborhood disturbances. His Aunt May (Marisa Tomei) is constantly worried about him. And Tomei manages to bring an element of sexy to a character who has traditionally been a more grandmotherly character. I'm not a purist. I like Tomei and loved her in this role. Even in a somewhat limited role that she has in the film.

    aunt may.jpg

I also liked that the film focused mostly on the world from the teenage perspective. From school life to house parties. The adult roles (other than the villain) were mostly limited. I have never been a big fan of Robert Downey, Jr., but he is perfectly typecast in the role of Tony Stark/Ironman. He is the kind of guy who grates on my nerves, which is basically who Tony Stark is. So it works for me. His role was almost a cameo until deep in the film. The film allowed Peter Parker to make mistakes, experience growth and create nice tension as the narrative arc peaked. Watching a kid make dumb mistakes for the right reasons. And pulling for him...which is what we are supposed to do.

    stark.jpg

The special effects in Homecoming were also well done. We had all the big CGI that we expect from Marvel. We had an expensive Spiderman costume courtesy of Stark Enterprises. We had great aerial chases and epic battles. And we had some old school. Which was also fun. We get to see Spiderman as the low tech superhero again. Fighting crime with just his own inventions and wit. The movie is big in all the ways we want it to be, while reaching back to it's roots. We even get a dose of the old theme song and a throwback line. Your "friendly neighborhood Spiderman." A great reference for a franchise that had gotten off track in recent years. An epic reboot.

Spiderman: Homecoming is worth seeing at the theater. The special effects and sound make it epic. The storyline makes it worth watching. Beyond the traditional superhero vs. villain, we get an actual plot. We get characters who have depth. We get common teenage struggles. We get characters who struggle with their roles. Bad guys who are just a little bit good. And good guys prone to screwing up just a bit (to include Stark). As a long time fan of Spiderman, it was nice to see this series get back on track with a new vision. It will be interesting to see how Spiderman plays into the Avenger films going forward. But the film left things with just the right feel. The traditional....stayed tuned...

I have to give this film a solid 8/10. The photos and trailer are public domain. They are property of Marvel Comics and Columbia Pictures. And now, for your viewing pleasure:

  12. Spider-Man Homecoming--Finally Marvel gets Spider-man right.@mctiller3267d

    Marvel is in the zone.

Spider-man has been lost in the wilderness for a long time.  The 2002 movie starring Tobey Maguire and directed by Sam Raimi was good.  Spider-man 2 that came out in 2004 was great.  Then the web began to untangle with the mess that was Spider-man 3 in 2007, lesson learned is that more villains does not make for a better movie.

Then it was decided to recast spider-man with a man in his late 20s with Andrew Garfield in 2010.  The movie was okay, but we really need to do another origin story.  And I admit, I never saw the Amazing Spider-Man 2.  It just didn’t seem needed.

Marvel rightly teased the new Spider-man by putting him in the last Avenger’s movie.  So, we already knew what the new Spider-man would sound like and that the character was funny.  The new Spider-man is actually played by a teenager this time, and is done very well by Tom Holland.

This isn’t really an origin movie

Director Jon Watts knew that the audience doesn’t need another mutant spider scene origin scene.  It was smartly and quickly explained away in less than 60 seconds, in normal conversation between Peter Parker and his best friend Ned.

    Spider-Man is a teenager

The movie aptly deals with the real world consequences of the life of superhero.  As a 15-year-old Peter is so eager to be a part of the Avengers and to be recognized as a superhero that he misses to actual dangers of being a superhero.  He himself as the superhero may not be in danger, but the people around you can be.  The phrase with “great power comes great responsibility” from the first movie is not uttered in this movie, but it is the theme of the movie.

After being given a useful Spider-Man suit by Tony Stark, Peter Parker is eager to join The Avengers on another big assignment.  His contact with thee Avengers is Happy, played by Jon Favereu.  Peter calls Happy on a nearly daily basis in hopes of getting back into the Avengers.

And as all teenagers Peter Parker has a major crush, but isn’t cool enough to ask her out.   After all his crush Liz Allen is a senior, while Peter is a sophomore, but she has a major crush on Spider-man.  So Peter’s best friend Ned tries to get Peter to use his secret identity to get the girl.

    Iron Man as Mentor

Tony Stark fills in as missing the father figure for Peter.  “Zip it!  The Adult is taking.” Is a line a that I laughed at, and a line that Peter needed to her.  Super-heroes need mentors.

    The Villain

Michael Keaton has gotten to play Batman in the DC universe and now a villain in the Marvel universe.  Some people get to do all the cool things.   Keaton plays Adrian Toomes.  Toomes is the owner of a salvage company is higher to salvage after the battle of New York.  But soon after the job begins his company loses the job to Tony Stark’s U.S. Department of Damage Control, his company his on the verge of financial ruin so he comes up with a way to save it.  He saves it by stealing alien technology he salvaged at the battle of New York.  From those pieces he becomes an underground weapons dealer in alien technology.  From the technology Toomes becomes The Vulture, although I don’t believe he is ever called that in the movie.  Keaton plays a villain character where we are sympathetic to, being angry at the elite for taking our work and still wanting to take care of our families.

When Toomes and Peter meet each other, and they realize who they are, Keaton delivers the goods as an actor.  He gives the scariest villain scene in all of Marvel Universe and he does it when he’s not in costume.

    Credits

The opening credits Marvel works in the old “Spider-man! Spider-Man!” theme song from the old television.  A great easter egg to begin the movie.  The end credits have a punk rock theme very enjoyable.

And yes, there are two end credit scenes.  I’m not going to spoil those.

Spider-Man Homecoming is the best Spider-man yet and a great addition to the Marvel Universe.  I recommend catching it at the theater, no need to wait for Netflix on this one.

  13. Review Film: Spiderman - Homecoming (2017) by @filmtrail@film-trail3277d

    https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=U0D3AOldjMU

Yes, Spiderman: Homecoming is the movie I'm really waiting for this year, because I'm a fan of MARVEL (also MCU), just right, I admire Peter Parker, but was distracted by Tony (who in the promo seemed to get a lot of portions in this movie but the fact is proportional Upside down) ", to be honest the film is" breathe of fresh air "as a reboot from The Amazing Spiderman that makes" the most charming "Peter Parker in the figure of Andrew Garfield be willingly given to Tom Holland, but there are some things from this movie that to me, Executed less than the maximum.

The depiction of Peter Parker who entered the "Sophomore year", where he was aged 15-16 years old and sits in high school, making all the Spiderman movies we've ever seen erased entirely. The famous "spider bites" scene and "The death of Uncle Ben" we will not get back here. Spiderman can be said: Homecoming is the lightest and fun Spiderman movie, without excessive crying drama, especially from Aunt May. Oh Dear Lord, Marisa Tomei really makes Aunt May's character change here.

But what does Spiderman mean without a drama, right? That's also the truth I miss here. Indeed, with the age of a Peter, what drama can be presented besides the school drama, where he has to face the confusion of choosing his school days or his desire to become a Spider-Man, but then I missed the scene when I had to give up MJ's show to stop the robbery, or when The figure of Peter in Andrew Garfield gave up to release Gwen Stacy to protect her. Also when Tobey rode a battered motorcycle crashed into a truck or Andrew who in some scenes looked to face financial difficulties, was for Peter in Homecoming, he simply said "I need a new backpack".

In terms of stories, Homecoming is very well written which also makes the formation of Vulture characters played well by Michael Keaton, and I think Vultures is the best villain for Spiderman in the movie, and for me, the binding story of this film ends with anticlimactic. There is less than a movie with a duration of 130 minutes.

One of the highlights in this movie is definitely Spider Suit, where I love Spider Suit Homecoming version, the suit here is too sophisticated but cool, then the surprise suit is a very aptly appreciated suit. In terms of casting Tom Holland, Marisa Tomei, and Michael Keaton I think also become its own highlights. All three appear with quality that deserves thumbs up. Jon Watts who sat in the director's chair was able to arrange this film and provide elements of humor that fit with the character Spiderman. The scripts he composed with Jonathan Goldstein, John Francis Daley, Christopher Ford, Chris McKenna, and Erik Sommers are pretty detailed even though it is too long-winded at the beginning. Unfortunately, when the twist given in the final 3/4 of the film is enough to increase the tension, the cover feels anticlimactic.

But the grand ultimate disappointment and the thing I criticize most about Homecoming is how the production team, "wounded" the character of Peter Parker who to me is an iconic figure and has its own way, as if to be an attention whore to be considered by the figure of Tony Stark. The last name I mentioned I think too over promoted, and yes there is a scene in the trailer that does not appear in the movie.

In the end Spiderman: Homecoming remains a movie worth watching, which is also safe for children to watch under parental control. This movie is a neat and well-written film. But from all this writing, I still agree with Kirsten Dunst's sentence in an interview:

"We made the best ones, so who cares? I'm like, 'You make it all you want.' They're just milking that cow for money. " Lol.

There are 2 after credit scenes. Wait until the credit title is over.

    RATING (9/10)
