I recently, I watched this anime titled The Eminence in Shadow and honestly, the way the story carried me....I was seriously just shaking my head and laughing at the same time.

The main character, Cid Kagenou, is not your normal kind of anime character that wants to save the world or be the best fighter, No...., this one has his own special madness, Cid doesn’t want to be a hero, or even a villain.

His goal is to be a shadow you know those mysterious, untouchable characters working behind the scenes pulling the strings? That’s exactly who he wants to be.

From the beginning, even when he was still in the real world (before the reincarnation part), this guy was already doing serious training , like hitting himself with iron bars to build resistance. Who does that?

Then like that, something happened and he died.....But guess what? He got reincarnated into another world, this time, one filled with magic and sword fights. And just like that, his dream of being the ultimate “eminence in shadow” starts becoming real.

He forms a secret group called Shadow Garden with these girls he saved (but to him, he was just role-playing). He tells them there’s this evil cult called the Cult of Diablos, and they must destroy it. Funny part? He made the whole story up from his head like freestyle ,only to later discover that the cult is actually real!

That’s where the madness starts, he is out here acting like he is in some drama skit, meanwhile real enemies are fighting him left and right, and people in his organization actually believe in the mission more than he does.

The anime is packed with so much action, serious sword fights, dark twists, and plenty of funny moments , especially the way Cid just does the most outrageous things and still comes out clean. .

One minute he is pretending to be a weak schoolboy, next minute he is destroying powerful enemies and walking away like nothing happened.

Not gonna lie, the whole setup is something I really didn’t expect. It is not your regular “hero saves the world” anime. It's more like “I’m just doing my thing, but somehow I am the strongest and everyone thinks I planned it.”

If you do like anime with a lot of dark fantasy vibes, action, comedy, and characters with too much main character energy, this is for definitely a must watch for you.

Anime is a vast and interesting genre with contrasting opinions on characters, actions, and dialogues. Our differences in opinion are what make discussions about anime interesting. As an anime lover, I’m sure you’ve found yourself in a situation where you are completely rooting for a character, only to find that your friends find that same character rather boring and not worth all the hype. Have you ever found yourself in a situation where a friend recommends an anime, hyping it up, telling you that you would find it very interesting, only for you to watch it and realize it wasn’t all what your friend mentioned? When it comes to anime, we all have different likes, preferences and opinions and that is exactly what makes the genre interesting.

A while back, I came across a reel of an anime on Instagram. The part I watched piqued my interest that I got so interested in watching it. So, I checked the comment section to see if anyone mentioned the title of the anime, and boom! “The Eminence is Shadow.” Luckily, someone mentioned the title in the comment section and immediately, I added it to my to-watch list. I told my friend about this anime which I intended to watch, and surprisingly, they had already seen it. They claimed that the anime is a 10 out of 10 and that I would totally enjoy watching it. In their words, “The Eminence in Shadow is one of the top anime I have ever watched.”

This comment from my friend motivated me to want to watch it. At the time, I was watching Hunter X Hunter (which has about 150 plus episodes). But I had to put that on a pause to watch The Eminence in Shadow, afterall it only has 24 episodes. I was so curious to watch “one of the best anime in the entire anime verse.” Sadly, I was disappointed by what I found.

Don’t quote me wrong, I enjoyed watching the anime, but it is totally far from “one of the best anime in the animeverse.” The fight scenes are not bad, but the anime itself had one major gap—the main character. I’m sure you’d agree with me that Cid (shadow) is overpowered. This has to be the most extreme case of power inflation I’ve ever seen. Throughout the whole 2 seasons, no one stood a chance. He dominated every fight, effortlessly taking down villains without breaking a sweat. I have seen other animes where the main characters were super powerful, but they still struggled with villains. Let’s take Gojo in Jujutsu Kaisen as a casestudy. Gojo is definitely stronger than Shadow. But in JJK, it is shown that Gojo, as strong as he is, faces strength and struggles against some villains. Like Geto.

The first episode of The Eminence in Shadow caught my attention and drew me in. However, six episodes into the anime, I realized how powerful Shadow was, and I expected that at least someone would pose a threat or at least put a scratch on him, but he came out of every battle flawlessly. On the other hand, I enjoyed the dialogue. "I am atomic" is probably one of the most famous lines in the entire anime, and it's by far my favorite line.

In summary, while I enjoyed watching The Eminence in Shadow, it's definitely not the best anime I've seen. In my opinion, it doesn't fit into the top 15. And one reason why it falls short is because the main character is overpowered. I had a conversation with @fashtioluwa, who was disappointed when I shared my view on this anime. Have you seen The Eminence in Shadow? What's your take on it?

Manga animé The eminence in shadow

Après la mort brutal d'un adolescent qui voulais être un super héros , discret , qui tue les malfaiteurs faisant des kidnapping ou des des tueurs , le héro ce réincarne dans un monde de magie .

Notre héro ce retrouve dès la naissance , avec un mana infinie , qu'il veux absolument caché , pour devenir un super héro masqué la nuit .

Il sauve des personnes ayant une malédiction est considéré comme monstre , et leurs fournis aussi un mana infinie , et leurs raconte qu'il lutte contre un groupe terroriste imaginaire , et le convainc de le rejoindre et l'aidé dans sa quête de tué tout le réseaux .

Sans qu'il ne le sache , ses "soldats" ce mettent a faire le tour du monde pour lutté contre cette organisation qui ce révèle être vrais , font des commerces pour financé leur guerre .

De son côté le héro ce retrouve dans une école de magie , et ce fait passé pour une personne sans magie pour être plus discret .

Au début le manga es sans ambition , mais ce retrouve vite avec des combat assez violent , et deviens de plus en plus avec une histoire politique .

Le manga es un peu ecchi , mais n'en abuse pas du tout .

Bon visionnage a tous .

N'ayez pas trouvé de version française du manga papier , je ne peux dire si il y'as une différence , et le manga n'est que en VOSTFR , et ,es toujours en cours de production .

The Eminence in Shadow or otherwise known as Kage no Jitsuryokusha ni Naritakute is an Isekai Shounen manga written by Daisuke Aizawa.Normally, I don't usually read Isekai but after a post by @adamada, my curiosity for the genre got piqued and I picked this up and to be honest, this manga has to be the funniest I've ever read😂.

Plot

Just like everyone adored heroes in their childhood, a certain young man adored those powers hidden in the shadows. After hiding his strength and living the mediocre life of an average individual by day and undergoing harsh training by night. He finally reincarnates into a different world and gains unfathomable power.

Cid Kagenoh is the main protagonist of this show. He was reincarnated into this world after his comic death in his search of magic. At this world, he realizes that his dream of being The Eminence in Shadow is a reality and at such he begins training again. At 10 years he is strong enough to overpower multiple opponents on his own but yet still feigns to be a harmless mob character to those around him.

Later on he begins gathering elves and beastskins with strong out of control magical power (possessed) and helps them to bring their power back under control. At first he did this unknowingly, wanting to experiment with the first possessed he came across during a raid on raiders.

As she gathered consciousness she decided to devote her life serving him. Cid saw this as an opportunity to gather followers, so he named her Alpha and came up with an on the spot improvised act about how he is the head of Shadow Garden; a cult working on preventing the resurrection of the demon Diabolos and the destruction of the Diabolos cult that wants to bring the demon back. He than claims that he is gathering possessed because they are the descendants of the heroes who killed Diabolos. Of course this is all a load of bull as he just made up that story from a bed time story he heard. Alpha bought the story though and she swore fealty to shadow garden. Although it did turn out that every lie that Cid spouted that day unbeknownst to him was real.

The main comedic streak of this manga is the ignorance of Cid in this new world and the way everything always seem to work out in the end. Normally you'll think such a brash comedic streak would someday get old yet the scenarios become more bizarre as the story unfolds. The manga is getting an anime in October and to be honest I'm very pumped to see Cid animated even though I don't think the manga has gotten enough material to get animated.

From the scenes in the trailer above I'm really pleased with the graphics for even though it's more of comedy the flight scenes in the manga are well drawn and illustrated so I would be bummed if they turned out to be trash. If you don't want to wait till October you can read up on the manga though just 43 chapters of comedy and action gold.
