     Saludos estimados cinéfilos de #CineTV. Continúo hoy por aquí para hablarles de otro estupendo Dorama llamado La Gloria. Una serie increíble cargada de mucho drama, pero sobre todo de justicia. Es una de esas series que cuando empiezas a verla no puedes parar de hacerlo 😍

     Greetings, fellow film lovers of #CineTV! I'm back today to talk about another fantastic K-drama called The Glory. An incredible series full of drama, but above all, a strong sense of justice. It's one of those series that once you start watching, you just can't stop! 😍

     De las series que he visto hasta ahora en esta categoría de Doramas, esta trama va por mucho de primer lugar en mi lista. La historia desarrollada es excelente. La venganza es definitivamente un plato que se sirve frío. Yo soy fiel partidaria de que en la vida debe haber más justicia, así se tenga que llevar a cabo por mano propia y si tuviera la oportunidad de elaborar un plan de esta magnitud, no dudaría en hacerlo.

     Of all the dramas I've seen so far, this one is definitely at the top of my list. The story is excellent. Revenge is definitely a dish best served cold. I firmly believe that there should be more justice in life, even if it means taking matters into one's own hands, and if I had the chance to devise a plan of this magnitude, I wouldn't hesitate.

   

     La trama gira en torno a una niña que sufrió un bullying muy cruel y despiadado en la escuela por parte de otro grupo de estudiantes que por ser millonarios creían tener el poder de hacer todo lo que quisieran sin que nadie les diera una lección.

     The plot revolves around a girl who suffered ruthless bullying at school from another group of students who, because they were millionaires, believed they had the power to do whatever they wanted without anyone teaching them a lesson.

   

     Y pues, como diría Frodo Bolsón: hay algunas cosas que el tiempo no puede curar. Hay heridas demasiado profundas que echan raíces y no pueden sanar. Algo así le pasó a la protagonista de esta serie.

     And as Frodo Baggins would say: There are some things that time cannot heal. Some wounds are too deep to close and cannot be mended. Something like that happened to the protagonist of this series.

   

     Su dolor se transformó en inspiración para obtener justicia por mano propia a todo el grupo que le hizo tanto daño durante su niñez. Pasó gran parte de su vida planeando cada paso que daría y cada acto que cometería para perjudicar a sus agresores, que no solo la dañaron a ella sino también a otras niñas.

     Y es que luego de ver Batman: El Caballero de la Noche, me quedó grabada la frase de Alfred que dice "hay personas que solo quieren ver arder el mundo" y desde entonces pienso que esa frase es realmente acertada porque hay personas que nacen simplemente para dañar a otros porque pueden y quieren hacerlo.

     And after watching Batman: The Dark Knight, Alfred's line "some people just want to watch the world burn" stuck with me, and ever since then, I think that line is really accurate because there are people who are born simply to hurt others because they can and want to do it.

   

     Y esta historia me recordó un poco a la trama que se desarrolla en la película del Conde de Montecristo. Una de mis películas favoritas por estar tan bien hecha y mostrar una venganza que llega a un clímax espectacular sin dejar que nada se escape.

     And this story reminded me a bit of the plot of the movie The Count of Monte Cristo. One of my favorite movies because it's so well made and shows a revenge plot that reaches a spectacular climax without leaving anything out.

   

     En esta historia ocurre algo parecido pero multiplicado por 5 porque son cinco individuos crueles que merecen ser castigados con todo el peso de la venganza.

     Tan buena fue la historia que me la terminé de ver en 2 días y eso porque la empecé a ver tarde, si no la hubiera visto en un día completo. Las actuaciones de todos estuvieron muy bien hechas, me encantaron todos los personajes, sobre todo de adultos. Quien más me gustó cómo trabajó fue la actriz Kim Hieroa que interpretó a Lee Sa-ra. Su actuación en un punto me recordó a Jinx de LOL.

     The story was so good that I finished it in two days, and that's only because I started watching it late; otherwise, I would have finished it in a single day. Everyone's acting was excellent; I loved all the characters, especially the adults. My favorite performance was that of Kim Hieroa as Lee Sa-ra. At one point, her acting reminded me of Jinx from League of Legends.

   

     Por supuesto que la actriz Lim Ji-yeon, quien interpretó a la némesis de nuestra protagonista y la razón por la cual esta mujer buscó venganza, también actuó espectacularmente y me encantó cómo culminaron las cosas contra ella.

     A mí me gustó mucho, como les digo, es una de esas series que no puedes dejar de ver apenas termina el primer episodio. Simplemente te surge la necesidad de seguirla viendo porque termina en un punto difícil de predecir. Por lo que la serie no aburre para nada y lo mejor es que no sabes qué va a suceder ni cómo terminará. De mi parte le otorgo sus bien merecidas 5 estrellas y te la recomiendo.

     I really enjoyed it. As I said, it's one of those series you can't stop watching after the first episode. You simply feel compelled to keep watching because it ends in a way that's hard to predict. So the series is never boring, and the best part is that you don't know what's going to happen or how it will end. I give it a well-deserved 5 stars, and I highly recommend it.

   Revenge is a reaction to harm suffered; its aim is to make the perpetrator suffer, either to restore balance (achieve justice) or regain emotional stability.

   Revenge is the focus of a miniseries I just watched, which had a big impact on me, as it reflects many situations that are real in today's society, such as impunity, sometimes due to lack of evidence, other times because those with money and connections pull strings to get away with it, without any consequences.

   This miniseries focuses on the extreme school violence suffered by Moon Dong-eun, which leads her to drop out of school and give up on her dreams. Eighteen years later, Dong-eun returns to confront her bullies and those who covered up for them, and thus achieve her revenge.

   One of the things that shocked me and was difficult to watch was the first episode, as it shows all the abuse the protagonist was subjected to. We're not just talking about teasing or humiliation, we're talking about physical aggression, all of which left her with lifelong scars, not only physically but also psychologically.

   The series shows us how the young woman had to make her own way, since even her mother was a stumbling block in her life, and she finally manages to become a teacher, thus re-entering the circle of her five bullies: Park Yeon-jin, Jeon Jae-joon, Choi Hye-jung, Lee Sa-ray, and Son Myung-oh.

   What struck me about this series was its harshness in showing how there are human beings who do not believe in consequences, because that is what they have been taught, that by having money and connections they can get away with anything, which is very true, but we are talking about people who are fundamentally rotten and who at some point can lose control and be totally exposed.

   On the other hand, it shows us how the protagonist, by focusing her revenge mainly on the leader of the group, Yeon-jin, overcomes herself, but with the sole objective of achieving her long-awaited revenge, which makes us think about how revenge can consume someone.

   Glory also reminds us how guilty those who do nothing, knowing what is happening, are, just like the perpetrators of the acts, which leads me to recall something that is not very easy for many to understand: in order to put those who have done harm behind bars, you must have evidence to prove what they are accused of.

   One of the strengths of the series is its music, which creates a sense of darkness and tension in the atmosphere. The set design is also one of its strengths, reflecting very well how the upper classes live in excess and the lower classes often live their lives day to day, and how this leads to some abusing others. The costumes are another point in its favor, reflecting reality and how some people attach importance to things that ultimately have none.

   Something that caught my attention is the comparison between the game of Go and all the strategy used by Moon Dong-eun to achieve her revenge. It's something that doesn't become evident until the series is somewhat advanced, but all the protagonist did was plan each of her moves very well and face the responses of her adversaries to achieve her goal.

   The miniseries also shows us how Moon Dong-eun was saved by Yeo-jeong, who falls in love with her and supports her in everything, giving her life new meaning. It also shows how the good we do for others, even without realizing it, can make a difference when we least expect it.

   Justamente en la venganza, se centra una miniserie que acabo de ver, la cual me impacto mucho, ya que refleja muchas situaciones que son reales en la actual sociedad como la impunidad, a veces por falta de pruebas, otras porque los que poseen dinero y contactos mueven los hilos para lograr salirse con la suya, sin que existan consecuencias.

   Esta miniserie centra en la violencia escolar extrema que sufre Moon Dong-eun, por lo que decide abandonar la escuela y con ello, sus sueños. Así, 18 años después, Dong-eun regresa, para enfrentar a los que fueron sus acosadores y quienes los encubrieron, y así lograr su venganza.

   Una de las cosas que me impacto y me costó ver fue el primer capítulo, ya que en allí muestran todos los maltratos a los que fue sometida la protagonista, no hablamos solo de burlas o humillaciones, hablamos de agresión física, todo esto le dejo marcas de por vida, no solo de manera física, también psicológica.

   La serie nos muestra como la joven tuvo que abrirse camino sola, ya que hasta su madre fue un tropiezo en su vida y finalmente logra convertirse en maestra, así logra entrar de nuevo al círculo de sus cinco acosadores, Park Yeon-jin, Jeon Jae-joon, Choi Hye-jung, Lee Sa-ray y Son Myung-oh.

   Ahora bien, de esta serie me impacto su crudeza para mostrar como hay seres humanos que no creen en las consecuencias, porque eso les han enseñado, que por tener dinero y contactos pueden salirse con la suya, cosa que es muy cierta, pero hablamos de personas que en fondo están podridas y a las que en algún momento se les puede salir todo de las manos y quedar totalmente expuestos.

   Por otra parte, nos muestra como la protagonista, al centrarse en su venganza principalmente contra la líder del grupo Yeon-jin se supera, pero con el único objetivo de conseguir su tan anhelada venganza, lo que hace pensar en como la venganza puede consumir a alguien.

   La Gloria, también nos recuerda como es tan culpable el que no hace nada, conociendo lo que está sucediendo, como el perpetrador de los hechos, lo que me lleva a recordar algo que no es muy fácil de comprender para muchos, para poder meter tras las rejas a los que hicieron un daño, hay que tener evidencias para probar aquello de lo que se les acusa.

   Uno de los fuertes de la serie es su música, da esa sanción de oscuridad de tensión de ambiente oscuro, la escenografía también es uno de sus fuertes refleja, muy bien como las clases altas tienen excesos y las bajas muchas veces viven sus vidas al día y como estos hace que unos abusen de los otros. El vestuario es otro punto a su favor, refleja realidad y como algunos le dan importancia a cosas que al final no la tienen.

   Algo que llamo mi atención es la una comparación entre el juego de Go y toda la estrategia usada por Moon Dong-eun, para lograr su venganza, es algo que no hace evidente hasta que la serie está algo avanzada, pero todo lo que hizo la protagonista fue planear muy bien cada uno de sus movimientos y enfrentar las repuestas de sus adversarios, para lograr su objetivo.

   La miniserie también nos muestra como Moon Dong-eun fue también salvada por Yeo-jeong, quien se enamora de ella y la apoya en todo, logrando darle un nuevo sentido a su vida. También, como el bien que podemos hacer por otros, aun sin darnos cuenta, puede hacer la diferencia en el momento menos pensado.

   En mi opinión, se dio un desarrollo a los personajes, historias profundas de personajes principales y secundarios, momentos de tensión, que nos recuerdan lo dura que puede ser la realidad de la vida para muchos, también que tarde o temprano las verdades salen a luz y pueden derrumbar lo que se construye sobre mentiras y secretos.

   En resumen, La Gloria, una miniserie que tiene ya dos años de su emisión, es una joya que para los que disfruten de géneros como drama, intriga, acoso escolar y venganza, será genial. Yo le doy un 9/10. Está disponible en la plataforma streaming Netflix.

   Today I would like to tell you about a series that I recently found in the Netkix catalog and that I found very interesting, although I must confess that I watched it after the strong insistence of my wife and daughters because I usually hate that kind of plots where people suffer a lot, but I decided to give it a chance after learning that it was mostly about a woman in search of justice and that we could witness this from the beginning, so with a bowl of popcorn (or cotufas as we call them in my country) I decided to watch this series, being pleasantly surprised with all that the plot had to offer.

   Hoy quisiera hablarles de una serie que encontré recientemente en el catalogo de Netkix y que me pareció muy interesante, aunque debo confesarles que la vi tras la fuerte insistencia de mi esposa y mis hijas porque por lo general yo detesto ese tipo de tramas donde las personas sufren mucho, pero decidí darle una oportunidad tras conocer que se trabada más que todo de una mujer en busca de justicia y que podíamos ser testigos de esto desde el inicio, así que con un tazón de palomitas (o cotufas como las llamamos en mi pais) me dispuse ver esta serie, quedando gratamente sorprendido con todo lo que la trama ofrecía.

Desde entonces Moon Dong-eun vive para planear meticulosamente su venganza, estudia y trabaja para poder superarse intelectual y económicamente, recaba información de sus enemigos y finalmente, con la ayuda de un médico que se volvió un amigo y aliado inseparable, termina de concretar su tan esperada venganza.

   Una de las cosas que más disfruté al ver esta serie, es que si bien constantemente vamos viendo imágenes de lo que fue la tortura de esa pobre chica cuando era una adolescente, desde el primer capítulo ya es posible ver su determinación y superación, era tan solo una niña, muy vulnerable y además estaba completamente sola, así que era inevitable que colapsara en muchas ocasiones y se quebrara en llanto, algo muy difícil de soportar para quienes somos padres porque es muy duro imaginar a nuestros hijos en una situación similar, pero al mismo tiempo es reconfortante ver que hay una tenue luz al final del túnel que va ensanchándose y haciéndose más nítida a medida que la protagonista va creciendo y superándose, pero lo mejor de todo es que no pasa demasiado tiempo para ello, desde el primer capítulo podemos verlo y eso hace que tu frustración sea reemplazada por la satisfacción.

   También me gustó que ella finalmente encontrara la ayuda y comprensión que no tuvo cuando era una adolescente, por ejemplo en la señora que le alquilaba la casa, fue en algún momento para ella algo así como un consuelo, un apoyo maternal, Jung Sung - Il que también decidió darle el beneficio de la duda y no creer ciegamente en Park Yeo-jin solo porque era su esposa, y finalmente tenemos a Ju Yeo-jeong quien fue un gran apoyo en todos los sentidos, y me gustó que la relación entre ellos fue lenta y muy realista.

Today I would like to review a series that I recently found on Nexflit and that I dared to watch, even though I am not prone to consume Korean series, but I did it because this one is very different from what I have found before, it is far from the romantic comedies that are so popular nowadays, especially among girls, however lately I am opening my mind to Korean series and the truth is that I have been pleasantly surprised, but without further ado today I would like to tell you about The Glory.

Hoy me gustaría reseñar una serie que encontré hace poco en Nexflit y que me atrevía a ver, pese a que no soy propensa a consumir series coreanas, pero lo hice porque esta es muy diferente a lo que he encontrado antes, dista mucho de las comedias románticas que son tan populares hoy en día, sobre todo entre las chicas, sin embargo últimamente estoy abriendo mi mente a las series coreanas y la verdad es que me he sorprendido gratamente, pero sin más preámbulo hoy me gustaría hablarles de The Glory.

   Overview/Resumen

   The series begins by showing us a teenage girl, Moon Dong-eun, who is constantly harassed and tormented by her classmates, they not only insult and verbally assault her, but the harassment reached its peak when they started to burn her using a curling iron, the leader of the gang of evil teenagers is Park Yeo-jin, who only laughs at the suffering of the young girl, who got no support from the police, nor from her teacher who only chose to beat her to shut her up, her mother also betrayed her, signing an agreement where she withdrew her from school because she ‘failed to adapt’ and abandoned her with the money she had received from the mother of the leader of the Bullies, However, as time went by, Moon Dong-eun dedicated herself to work and study at the same time, improving herself economically until she managed to enter university and later graduate as a teacher (but this was not a decision taken at random) in all those years she followed the life of each and every one of her torturers, and decided to become a teacher to enter the same school where the little daughter of Park Yeo-jin, the leader of the bullies, studied, and little by little she will make her and the rest pay dearly for everything they did in the past.

   La serie comienza mostrándonos a una adolescente, Moon Dong-eun, quien es constantemente asediada y atormentada por sus compañeros de clase, ellos no solo la insultan y la agreden verbalmente, sino que el acoso alcanzó el punto más álgido cuando empezaron a quemarla usando un rizador de cabello, la líder de la pandilla de adolescentes malvados es Park Yeo-jin, quien solo se ríe del sufrimiento de la joven, la cual no consiguió respaldo ni de la policía, ni de su maestro quien solo optó por golpearla para hacerla callar, su madre también la traicionó, firmando un acuerdo donde la retiraba del colegio porque "no logró adaptarse" y la abandonó con el dinero que había recibido por parte de la madre de la líder de los Bullies, no obstante, mientras el tiempo pasaba, Moon Dong-eun se dedico a trabajar y estudiar al mismo tiempo, superándose económicamente hasta lograr entrar en la universidad y posteriormente graduarse de maestra (pero esta no fue una decisión tomada al azar) en todos esos años ella hizo un seguimiento de la vida de todos y cada uno de sus torturadores, y decidió volverse maestra para entrar en la misma escuela donde estudiaba la pequeña hija de Park Yeo-jin, la líder de los bullies, y poco a poco hará que tanto ella, como el resto paguen caro por todo lo que hicieron en el pasado.

   My Opinion/Mi Opinión

   Wow, it's hard to give you my opinion because I don't know where I should start, but I think I'll start with the story, which is the most important thing. Definitely the story is completely out of what I knew so far in Korean series, let's see, some people, without having seen the series and with little context about it might think it's a cliché story based on the main idea of the Count of Monte Cristo, but what makes this series different is the girl's style to get revenge, how she takes advantage of every second and every resource to return the attacks she received during her adolescence. On the other hand I loved the development of her character, even though she has a lot of pain in her heart and many times she tried to commit suicide, she decided to live to be able to overcome economically, she was very astute and patient to be able to meticulously plan her plan, she was never impulsive, which allowed her to gloat with every achievement, but also, her revenge was not only for the mere satisfaction of seeing her torturers in the mud, but to do justice for those who, unlike her, did not manage to survive.

   Wow es difícil darles mi opinión porque no sé por donde debo empezar, sin embargo creo que lo haré por la historia, que es lo más importante. Definitivamente la historia se sale por completo de lo que hasta ahora yo conocía en las series coreanas, a ver, algunas personas, sin haber visto la serie y con poco contexto sobre la misma tal vez podrían pensar que se trata de una historia cliché basada en la idea principal del Conde de Montecristo, pero lo que hace que esta serie sea diferente es el estilo de la chica para vengarse, como aprovecha cada segundo y cada recurso para regresar los ataques que recibió durante su adolescencia. Por otra parte amé el desarrollo de su personaje, a pesar de que tiene mucho dolor en su corazón y que muchas veces intentó suicidarse, ella decidió vivir para poder superarse económicamente, fue muy astuta y paciente para poder planear meticulosamente su plan, nunca fue impulsiva, lo que le permitió regodearse con cada logró, pero además, su venganza no solo era por la mera satisfacción de ver en el fango a sus torturadores, sino por hacer justicia para aquellos que, a diferencia de ella, no lograron sobrevivir.

   Another thing I liked is that the story also serves to teach the audience about bullying and its consequences, what for some is nothing more than a ‘rough game’ is actually a torment for the victim, something that drastically changes their bodies, their minds and their lives. This series served as a denunciation of a situation that is, unfortunately, more common than we might think and that happened many times in schools and universities in South Korea, and that, unfortunately for the victims, they could not do anything because the perpetrators of these crimes were children of economically powerful people, so the character of this series decides to act on their own and take justice into their own hands, but, all without getting their hands dirty, acting legally. The actions are carried out in a clear-cut way and without the audience having to wait too long, so each episode becomes a pleasure, you really enjoy it because you are not left frustrated, but with a very gratifying sense of justice.

   Otra cosa que me gustó es que la historia sirve además para aleccionar a la audiencia sobre el Bullying y sus consecuencias, lo que para algunos no pasa de ser "un juego brusco" en realidad es un tormento para la víctima, algo que cambia drásticamente sus cuerpos, sus mentes y sus vidas. Esta serie sirvió como denuncia a una situación que es, lamentablemente, más común de lo que pudiéramos pensar y que sucedió muchas veces en escuelas y universidades de Corea del Sur, y que, para desgracia de las víctimas, no pudieron hacer nada porque los perpetradores de estos crímenes eran hijos de personas poderosas económicamente, por eso el personaje de esta serie decide actuar por su cuenta y tomar la justicia por sus propias manos, pero, todo sin mancharse las manos, actuando legalmente. Las acciones se van llevando a cabo de forma tajante y sin que la audiencia tenga que esperar demasiado, así que cada capítulo se vuelve un placer, en serio lo disfrutas porque no te quedas frustrado, sino con una sensación de justicia muy gratificante.

   I love that Moon Dong-eun is a very human character, because even though she is now a strong woman, who shows almost no emotions and acts in a cold way, we can sometimes see her breaking down because it is actually impossible to stifle feelings all the time, especially when she is in front of her mother who is a real nasty beast.

   Me encanta que Moon Dong-eun sea un personaje muy humano, porque a pesar de ser ahora una mujer fuerte, que casi no demuestra emociones y que actúa de manera fría, a veces podemos verla quebrarse porque en realidad es imposible sofocar los sentimientos todo el tiempo, sobre todo cuando ella está frente a su madre que es una verdadera bestia repugnante.

   As for the secondary characters, I loved several of them but my favourite was Moon Dong-eun's best ally, I am referring of course to Kang Hyeon-nam, this is also a very human character, with her own ordeal and pain, she was terribly mistreated by her husband, but she was still the light for Moon Dong-eun, she even managed to make her laugh with her comments and witticisms, an exceptional woman that I am grateful that she has been in this series.

   En cuanto a los personajes secundarios, amé a varios pero mi favorita fue la mejor aliada de Moon Dong-eun, me refiero desde luego a Kang Hyeon-nam, este también es un personaje muy humano, con su propio calvario y dolor, era terriblemente maltratada por su esposo, pero aún así era la luz para Moon Dong-eun, incluso lograba hacerla reír con sus comentarios y ocurrencias, una mujer excepcional que agradezco que haya estado en esta serie.

   The cinematography was very well worked, I loved the camera shots, the colour palette used in each scene and with each character was very accurate to transmit the light or darkness that each of them had, however I loved this camera shot where we see in the background the image of a cross that emerges from the light that enters through the slits in the doors of the gym and the reflection of this on the floor, all this before the arrival of Moon Dong-eun when he decides to face them for the first time.

   La fotografía estuvo muy bien trabajada, amé los planos de cámara, la paleta de colores usada en cada escena y con cada personaje fue muy acertada para transmitir la luz u oscuridad que cada uno de ellos tenía, no obstante amé este plano de cámara donde vemos de fondo la imagen de una cruz que surge a partir de la luz que entra por las hendijas de las puertas del gimnasio y el reflejo de esta en el piso, todo esto previo a la llegada de Moon Dong-eun cuando decide encararlos por primera vez.

   I used to shy away from movies with subtitles because I had the opinion of "if I wanted to read I would get a book." The thing is, I tend to forget that I am even reading it after a while. If you are not a native-English speaker or subtitles for whatever language you do speak don't exist, this would probably be too much to ask but for me, I found this series to be absolutely excellent.

   For those unaware, there are types of genres that are very popular in Korean cinema and TV. One of those genres that I find particularly interesting is the "revenge" genre. I don't know if what is going on in this series is something that actually happens in Korean, I certainly hope not, but if anyone was ever bullied in their life something like this would appeal to them immensely.

   I'm not going to list the names of the actors or characters because, no offense, but to a Westerner Korean names all kind of sound the same and are very forgettable.

   The main character is an adult in the present day where the series is taking place and she has flashbacks to times that she was bullied to an extreme degree by a group of mostly wealthy and "popular" kids in her school. This bullying isn't just being mean to her or knocking her books out of her hands in the hallway, but by scarring her literally with things like curling irons and forcing her into sexual situations with the male members of the "gang." She tries to elude them and even get the authorities involved, but the authorities are tied into their wealthy families and instead of helping her, they actually make her situation worse.

   To make matters even more heartbreaking, the girl in question already had a terrible home life with a father who is not present in her life, and bullies her at home as well. We, as the viewers get so frustrated at the complete lack of help that she is receiving from anyone in her life.

   While I don't want to spoil what happens, the series gradually unrolls as we are introduced to the now grown up girl who is successful and is meticulously planning her revenge against the people that were so terrible to her when she was in school. The kids who bullied her as a child have turned out to be bullies as adults as well and upon finding out her identity, they have zero remorse for the torment that they put her through. They continue to attempt to bully her as an adult as well.

   I would imagine that this is a pretty far-fetched situation but that is what makes it so entertaining to watch. I don't know much about Korean society, but some of the things that happen in this series are a bit too crazy to have ever really happened in real life. I certainly hope that schools are not like this. I witnessed some level of bullying in my school days, but nothing on this level.

   Just like a lot of other Korean series and movies, this is extremely graphic and shocking and therefore it would not be something you would want to have your kids watch. Well, if I had any kids I wouldn't want them watching this. For the crazy kids of today it may actually give them some ideas that would land them in jail.

   Should I watch it?

   If you can endure reading subtitles I give this an emphatic "YES!" I absolutely loved this series and for those that are unfamiliar with Korean ways as far as things on a screen are concerned, this is an excellent example of how something excellent can be made with far less money than we see western films and series being made for. I've always appreciated this aspect of Korean cinema and shows, they are able to make something extremely good for very little money. When I see what they spend to make this, or even their blockbuster movies, I can't help but think that Hollywood must be padding the bill for money-laundering purposes.

   I don't think you will regret giving this show a shot. It keeps you entertained the entire time.

   Hello, how are you? It's been a long time since I've posted anything here, and it even seems like I've forgotten about series and movies, but just to put your minds at ease, that's not the case. Lately I've felt like watching Korean series and it's not the first time I've watched them but I had commented a long time ago that I didn't like them or I didn't feel attracted to them, but, I'm seeing their charm, just this week I started watching one that is not so new, but it is for me and almost like a marathon, I finished watching the first part in just one day.

   ¡Hola! ¿Que tal? Hace mucho tiempo que no posteo nada aquí, e incluso parece que me he olvidado de las series y películas, pero para que estén tranquilos, no es así. Últimamente me han entrado ganas de ver series coreanas y no es la primera vez que las veo pero igual hace mucho había comentado que no me gustaban o no me sentía atraída hacia ellas, pero, les estoy viendo el encanto, justo esta semana empecé a ver uno que no es tan nuevo, pero si lo es para mi y casi como si fuese un maratón, acabe de ver la primera parte en solo un día.

   The first chapters of this series were very shocking for me, because they portray all the mistreatment that Dong-eun was subjected to, I don't know if I am very innocent, but I still can't understand why there are people who simply enjoy hurting others. Dong-eun was not the only girl who was bullied, before her there was another girl who was bullied to death. Honestly, it fills me with satisfaction that Dong-eun takes revenge on those who made her life miserable, everyone failed her, even her mother.

   Los primeros capítulos de esta serie fueron muy impactantes para mi, ya que estos retratan todos los maltratos que le hacían a Dong-eun, no se si yo soy muy inocente, pero aun no puedo llegar a entender el porque hay personas que simplemente disfrutan haciéndole daño a otras.    This 2023 kdrama is a movie adaptation of a series of event that happened in real life. I remember watching a video where the lady that her story was adapted in this Kdrama got to meet the casts and she was very emotional because she didn't know her story would be acted out in a very captivating way like this. In her interview, she expressed her deep appreciation towards the whole production crew.

   If you know her story, you will see exactly why she's so emotional about the work that was poured into this show.

   The Kdrama tells the story of a high school student who had to turn to a dropout after falling victim to multiple incidents of school violence from her colleagues, her teachers and even the parents of her colleagues. After years of suffering and trying to prepare a well detailed revenge scheme, she successfully got herself ready and came back to town where she will be serving a very spicy and hot revenge to her bullies and to those that were bystanders while she was getting bullied.

   This isn't just a case of high school bullying. It was more than that. The act of bullying in itself was actually a very intense case of violence towards her. Her skin was burned severally and her Mum was even paid off to play a role in making her miserable. After going through that experience, her life became a living hell, but she wasn't going to live in that hell alone...

   

   She vowed to give her bullies a good taste of what a living hell feels like.

   The bullies in this show were unbelievably vicious in their act and they grew up having parents who laid solid foundations for their act of bullying. You know, when a kid sneaks into someone's room to steal and the kid gets a handshake from his/her parents, that same kid will courageously knock down people's doors the next time he/she goes stealing. That's exactly the case here. They have horrible parents who supported their act of bullying.

   The trailers for the show already gave a hint about what to expect in the show. It's clearly not a revenge story where the bullied tries to get a poetic justice through the law or sits back and wait for karma.

   Nope! This show isn't about anything like that.

   The bullied took it upon herself to draw her revenge master plan and that in itself is overflowing with cinematic awesomeness. The execution of her revenge also hits the spot. She did it in a dramatically appealling way.

   I've seen a lot of incidents of school bullying where the bullies got away while the bullied lives in trauma forever. The fact that this show went against that pattern is one of the things that whets my appetite about it. Also, the dialogue in this show is superb and the actors gave their all to play their character.

   It's simply amazing. It is awesome.

    I'm talking about a Korean series that surprised me, every time I bet on watching a Korean series it's better than the previous one, today I finished watching this series but halfway I already knew it would be a good recommendation.

    For me it is a 10/10 this time I opted for a more dramatic genre and I must confess that it came out in the recommendations for a while and I always looked at the preview and decided not to see it, and out of boredom a few days ago I said that I would give it a chance.

    I almost passed on this story because I thought it would be gory and senseless. Don't get it wrong though. I love gory shows, but I'm stuck at the first episode of Connect, a Kdrama that stretches goriness beyond the stretch of my imagination.

    I will still get back to that though, but I'm not yet ready. Haha. On the side of senselessness, goodness knows that I've seen a lot of revenge stories which were senseless and poorly written. I didn't want to spend hours watching something of such quality.

    I checked the synopsis for this show, The Glory, and a part of me was like; I don't think I'm ready for a revenge story at the moment. Thankfully, the overwhelming netizens of Kdrama lovers on AsianWiki, Twitter and YouTube did a good job of whetting my appetite with their ratings for this show. That was when I decided to finally fit it into my watchlist and check it out.

    You know the interesting part, it only took the first 15 minutes of the show for me to get hooked. That opening sequence was a pure work of art. I saw that and paused the show, jumped onto my usual site and got hold of all the episodes of this Kdrama.

    Imagine that... There was no going back from that action. I already knew I will be watching every freaking minute of the whole 16 episodes of the show.

    Excerpts from this Kdrama show that it is a story that started as a very diabolical treatment a teen got during her high school days. She was bullied and brutalized by her classmates and there was no one she could turn to for help. Not her Mum. Not the Police. Not the teachers and not her classmates. It got to a point where she had to quit school because of the brutality of the bullying.

    That's when the story nicely transitioned into a nicely strategized revenge story... A revenge story where those involved can't stop or avoid it. Everyone involved had to suffer massively for it to end. The exact scene when Dong Eun (the lead character) declared war on her bullies is such a phenomenal scene. Knowing what she passed through to get there, that scene would make you feel catharsis.

    I particularly love when the main character said that "This is Not a fairytale, but a fable". That was so poetic and it's the least of the poetic lines used in this show. This goes without saying that the scriptwriter for this show did such an amazing job. It was a very tight script and the dialogues are part of the best bits about the show.

    Whet your appetite with this teaser video which is officially released on Netflix's YouTube channel;

    From all indications, the lead character declared war on her bullies, but she wasn't looking for a poetic Justice from the law nor was she waiting for karma to punish her bullies. She took it upon herself to land the blows and she perfectly described that action as "An eye for an eye, a took for a took. A fracture for fracture". An outcome that she ironically describes to be too fair for her bullies.

    Think about that...

    It sends a very strong message and it's important to note that this show is based on a true life story of a girl that got bullied in 2006. I watched the girl's interview this morning and it was heart-wrenching. It genuinely makes you think about cases of bullying and how seriously we ought to start taking them. Like I always say, there is nothing trivial about bullying. The bullies may forget after some days, but the bullied will always live with the scars forever.

    The storyline. The casting. The directing. The acting. All the camera shots. The soundtracks. The dialogue. Everything about this Kdrama is nicely executed and I particularly love how it didn't end with the usual "Revenge is bad" notion. Nope. There was no need to "Be the bigger person or forgive". She got her revenge on all those involved and it got served at a very sweet spot.

    You've gotta love every bit of this Kdrama cus I enjoyed it to a tee and I'm looking forward to more shows like this.

    Cada uno de los personajes son esenciales para la primera parte de la serie, te hacen odiar a los victimarios y querer proteger a la víctima desde el minuto en que comienza el primer capítulo; el personaje que más me encanto de la serie fue Dong-Eun (Song Hye Kyo), es un personaje que tiene un aura de misterio que la rodea y eso la hace interesante, admiro la fuerza que tuvo al salir adelante a pesar de que motivación principal es su venganza, es un personaje que intenta esconder sentimientos y mostrarse dura frente a los demás, pero siento que Yeo-Jeong (Lee Do-hyun) y Hyum-nam (Yeom Hye-ran) es como ese soplo de aire fresco que Dong-Eun necesita y es algo que me encanta y además estos 2 personajes son maravillosos, sobre todo Hyum-nam que le da ese toque cómico dentro de una historia dramática.

Today I want to share with you my opinion about a series that has caused a lot of sensation on Netflix and that today I finally had the opportunity to finish watching. This is "The Glory", a Korean series which captivated me from beginning to end but was a bit difficult for me to watch, it stars Song Hye-kyo, Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye -ran, Park Sung-hoon and Jung Sung-il. Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi opinión acerca de una serie que ha causado mucha sensación en Netflix y que hoy por fín tuve la oportunidad de terminar de ver. Se trata de "The Glory", una serie coreana la cual me atrapó de principio a fin pero que fué un poco difícil para mí de ver, está protagonizada por Song Hye-kyo,Lee Do-hyun, Lim Ji-yeon, Yeom Hye-ran, Park Sung-hoon y Jung Sung-il. Espero les guste.

    

    Plot / Trama

    Moon Dong-eun is a girl who, when she was young, received strong bullying from Park Yeon-jin and his group, who gave her the strongest physical and psychological abuse, burning her with a curling iron and a clothes iron, and hit her hard. In addition to this, Dong-eun never received the necessary help, so she had to endure the mistreatment that Yeon-jin gave her along with her friends Choi Hye-jeong, Lee Sa-ra, Jeon Jae-joon and Son Myeong for a long time. -oh who, because they thought they were more than others because they were of a higher social class, enjoyed torturing various colleagues.     My Opinion / Mi Opinión

    This series had been highly recommended to me since December and I hadn't been encouraged to watch it, but I'm very happy I did because it really is very good. I will start by talking about the cast and their incredible work with each of the characters, but I especially want to praise the great work of its protagonist Song Hye-kyo who did an incredible job as Moon Dong-eun, a woman who was brutally abused. in her adolescence and she returns totally ready to do anything to take revenge on her aggressors, during the course of the series we see her evolve quite well, since despite her thirst for revenge for the great trauma she has been carrying since her adolescence, I liked seeing that He is also a good person and his sweeter side is shown as the story progresses. Cha Joo-young's interpretation as the villain Choi Hye-jeong also seemed excellent to me, since she is one of those characters that makes you hate them almost instantly, since despite being a woman with a "perfect life" which she achieved Her goal of marrying a millionaire man, and having a daughter who is sweet and innocent, continues to be totally heavy and with a great evil that she still knows how to hide very well and is truly the most hateful character of all. In general, the work of the entire cast was very good, but these are the performances that I liked the most.

    Esta serie me la habían recomendado mucho desde Diciembre y no me había animado a verla, pero estoy muy contenta de haberlo hecho porque de verdad que es muy buena. Empezaré hablando del elenco y de su increible trabajo con cada uno de los personajes, pero en especial quiero elogiar el gran trabajo de su protagonista Song Hye-kyo la cual hizo un trabajo increible como Moon Dong-eun, una mujer la cual fué brutalmente abusada en su adolescencia y regresa totalmente dispuesta a todo para vengarse de sus agresores, durante el transcurso de la serie la vemos evolucionar bastante bien, ya que a pesar de su sed de venganza por el gran trauma que carga desde su adolescencia, me gustó ver que también es buena persona y va mostrado su lado más dulce a medida avanza la historia. La interpretación de Cha Joo-young como la villana Choi Hye-jeong también me pareció excelente, ya que es de esos personajes que te hacen odiarlos casi al momento, ya que a pesar de ser una mujer con una "vida perfecta" la cual logró su meta de casarse con un hombre millonario, y tener una hija la cual es dulce e inocente, continúa siendo totalmente pesada y con una gran maldad que todavía sabe ocultar muy bien y de verdad que es el personaje más aborrecible de todos. En general el trabajo de todo el cast fué muy bueno, pero estas son las actuaciones que más me gustaron.

Not only did I hate and find it quite difficult to watch the scenes where Dong-eun was abused both physically and mentally, and it made me very angry that she couldn't get the help she needed back then, which nowadays happens in many places so I can understand in a certain way the thirst for revenge that the protagonist has, not that I justify it but I understand it because I personally suffered from bullying in high school which made me feel really bad thank God it was not strong like here in the series (Thank God) I really felt free when I graduated from that school, so I can't imagine how a person who is tortured and harassed during adolescence and incidentally being ignored by the competent authorities must feel, so putting myself in their place makes me understand that it should not be easy not only to live with the trauma that this causes, but also with propitiated wounds that leave marks for life not only on the skin, but also on the soul and are impotent. They can be erased, so I really admire the courage and security with which Dong-eun faces her torturers, in short, the harassed, she becomes the harasser.

    Esta serie cuenta con un excelente fotografía y una paleta de colores que funciona a la perfección. Me gusta mucho saber que esta serie haya sido escrita por una mujer (Kim Eun-sook) ya que cada vez toman mas en cuenta a las mujeres en la industria. Respecto a la historia, es muy díficil hablar de ella ya que el tema principal es el bullying el cual puede llegar a ser muy polémico, y en esta serie lo muestran de una manera realmente muy fuerte. No solo odié y me fue bastante difícil ver las escenas en las que Dong-eun era maltratada tanto física como mentalmente, y me dió mucha rabia que ella no haya podido obtener la ayuda de necesitaba en aquel entonces, lo cual hoy en día pasa en muchos lugares así que puedo comprender en cierta manera la sed de venganza que tiene la protagonista, no es que la justifique pero la comprendo porque yo en lo personal sufrí de bullying en la secundaria lo cual me hizo sentir realmente mal gracias a Dios no fué fuerte como aquí en la serie (Gracias a Dios) realmente me sentí libre cuando me gradué de esa escuela, así que no me imagino como se debe sentir una persona que es torturada y acosada durante la adolescencia y de paso ser ignorada por las autoridades competentes, así que ponerme en su lugar me hace entender que no debe ser fácil no solamente vivir con el trauma que esto causa, sino también con heridas propiciadas que dejan marcas de por vida no solo en la piel, sino en el alma y son imposibles de borrar así que admiro mucho la valentía y seguridad con la que la Dong-eun se enfrenta a sus torturadores, en pocas palabra la acosada, se vuelve la acosadora.

    The series has quite a few nice scenes like the ones shared by Dong-eun and the nice and handsome doctor who teaches her to play Go (a game invented in China) who takes an interest in her, others are funny, and others are quite strong and difficult to watch. since apart from the scenes that show the torture that Dong-eun went through that I mentioned before, there is another much stronger one that I won't give many details about but that really made me cry, and it is the one in which an attempt is made suicidal. I admit that this is the scene that hurt me the most, since in real life it hurts a lot to hear about cases in which children and adolescents have committed suicide due to bullying and it is really unfortunate that these things happen. It should be noted that this series is inspired by a real event, according to what I read happened in 2006, in which the victim also received quite similar torture, but which had a completely different and favorable ending for the victim than if she was heard and when the respective complaint, the bully and his allies received their just punishment. And that is something that I hope Yeon-jin and the rest of the stalker group get in the second season of the series that is about to premiere in early March and that I look forward to. I hope that the message that this series really leaves, despite the fact that it focuses on taking revenge, can reach everyone who sees it, and I hope that all those young people who are going through similar situations today manage to put a stop to bullying, I always love They have said that "the brave lasts until the coward wants" and the one who bullies sooner or later receives what he gives and I'm sure that this is 100% true.

    La serie tiene bastantes escenas bonitas como las que comparten Dong-eun y el simpático y guapo doctor que le enseña a jugar Go (juego inventado en China) el cual se interesa en ella, otras graciosas, y otras bastante fuertes y díficiles de ver, ya que aparte de las escenas que muestran la tortura por la que pasó Dong-eun que nombré con anterioridad, hay otra mucho más fuerte de la que no daré muchos detalles pero que realmente me hizo llorar, y es en la que se desarrolla un intento de suicidio. Reconozco que es la escena que más me dolió, ya que en la vida real duele mucho enterarse de casos en que niños y adolescentes se han suicidado a causa del bullying y realmente es lamentable que estas cosas ocurran. Cabe acotar que esta serie está inspirada en un hecho real, según leí ocurrido en el 2006 en la cual la víctima también recibía torturas bastante parecidad pero, que tuvo un final totalmente diferente y favorecedor para la víctima que si fué escuchada y cuando se hizo la respectiva denuncia, el bully y sus aliados recibieron su justo castigo. Y eso es algo que espero obtenga Yeon-jin y el resto del grupo acosador en la segunda temporada de la serie que está por estrenarse a principios de Marzo y que espero con muchas ansias. Espero el mensaje que realmente deja esta serie a pesar de que se centre en tomar venganza, pueda llegar a todos lo que la vean, y espero que todos aquellos jóvenes que hoy en día pasan por situaciones similares logren poner un alto al bullying, siempre me han dicho que "el valiente dura hasta que el cobarde quiere" y el que hace bullying tarde o temprano recibe lo que da y estoy segura de que es 100% verdad.

    Hago énfasis en esas 3 series porque pueden ver a una Song en sus diferentes facetas pero no en la de ser una villana. Bueno más que villana es alguien que busca venganza.

    Creo que esta nueva serie ha dejado atrás el mal pensamiento que tienen algunos fans de su ex-esposo por su rol como actriz. Claramente desde el prime capitulo se deja ver la versatilidad que tiene esta mujer, y más cuando ya tienes de antemano el conocimiento de sus actuaciones anteriores. Si el objetivo de aceptar este rol era callar la boca de muchos tabloides, lo ha hecho a la perfección.

    Antes de entrar en el tema, yo ya tenia una gran expectativa con este dorama, no solo porque me fascina la actuación de la protagonista y por la selección de reparto, también por la trama y los directores que han llevado a cabo esta obra. No había espacio para errores, lagunas ni quedarnos mal. A pesar de que fue estrenada el año pasado, puedo decir con propiedad que será una de las tramas más habladas y polémicas del 2023, por no decir el mejor dorama del año.

    Before getting into the subject, I already had a great expectation with this dorama, not only because I am fascinated by the performance of the protagonist and the cast selection, but also because of the plot and the directors who have carried out this work. There was no room for mistakes, loopholes or being wrong. Even though it was released last year, I can say with propriety that it will be one of the most talked about and controversial plots of 2023, not to say the best dorama of the year.

    Por supuesto que ya es el mejor rol y actuación de frialdad que ha hecho Song Hye Kyo, no hay nada que criticar más el hecho que hizo que las escenas se vieran bastante reales cosa que, advierto, no todo el mundo puede ver esta serie porque es bastante fuerte.

    Of course it is already the best role and acting of coolness that Song Hye Kyo has done, there is nothing to criticize more the fact that she made the scenes look quite real which, I warn, not everyone can watch this series because it is quite strong.

    Por allí he leído que algunas personas hacen mención sobre el hecho de netflix debería poner una alerta más fuerte en cuanto a la clasificación de esta serie, yo de cierto modo estoy de acuerdo pero a la vez discrepo, primero porque se trata de algo de la vida real y segundo porque de alguna forma las personas con el realismo es que pueden tomar conciencia del tema.

    Over there I have read that some people make mention about the fact that netflix should put a stronger warning about the rating of this series, I kind of agree but at the same time I disagree, first because it is about something real life and second because somehow people with realism is that they can become aware of the issue.

    

    El dorama se desarrolla y envuelve en dos tiempos, el primero es el pasado o causa de que una mujer se haya convertido en su propio némesis, es decir, convertirse en aquello que le hizo tanto daño una vez a tal punto de no desear más nada que solo eso.

    The dorama is developed and wrapped in two times, the first is the past or cause that a woman has become her own nemesis, that is, to become that which once hurt her so much to the point of not wanting anything more than just that.

    Y segundo tenemos a la actual villana buscando venganza, moviendo los hilos para que las personas que tienen responsabilidad también en el hecho ocurrido sean ahora su títere de movimiento. Una forma de derribar personas sin tener que mancharse las manos directamente, usando la debilidad de sus enemigos para que estos actúen por ella.

    And second we have the current villain seeking revenge, pulling the strings so that people who have responsibility also in the fact occurred are now her moving puppet. A way to take people down without having to get her hands dirty directly, using the weakness of her enemies to make them act for her.

    Esto es algo que convierte la trama o más bien el rol de la protagonista en alguien lo bastante ágil e inteligente, por no decir que este ultimo realmente lo es ya que se encargó de estudiar tan duro hasta llegar al objetivo de ser profesora y dar clases particulares para recaudar dinero.

    This is something that turns the plot or rather the role of the protagonist into someone agile and intelligent enough, not to say that the latter really is since she took it upon herself to study so hard until she reached the goal of becoming a teacher and tutoring to raise money.

    Para profundizar un poco más sobre el tema, el bullying escolar es algo que aun no hemos podido erradicar en el mundo real, y sobre todo que el dinero siempre este presente hace que este tema se complique mucho más porque el poder parece que siempre prevalece ante la victima convirtiéndola en alguien que "encuentra lo que buscó".

    To delve a little deeper into the subject, school bullying is something that we have not yet been able to eradicate in the real world, and especially that money is always present makes this issue much more complicated because the power seems to always prevail over the victim making it someone who "finds what he sought".

    

    Hay algo también triste e impotente en todo esto, la razón de que padres no estén al pendiente de sus hijos, y no solo eso, sino que los vendan de cierta forma para tener algún tipo de beneficio a cambio del silencio y la verdad.

    Esto es algo bastante repugnante que se puede ver hoy en día en las familias. Tener un hijo es una responsabilidad, pero también es un hermoso regalo y privilegio, el hecho de que alguien extraño o incluso conocido le haga daño injustificado es razón suficiente para tener sentimientos encontrados. Todo lo contrario podría fácilmente llevar a la soledad al menor y por supuesto a cometer suicidio o pero aun dejar de ser la victima para ser el victimario.

    This is something quite disgusting that can be seen today in families. Having a child is a responsibility, but it is also a beautiful gift and privilege, having someone strange or even known to do unjustified harm to them is reason enough to have mixed feelings. Anything to the contrary could easily lead to loneliness and of course to commit suicide or even to stop being the victim and become the victimizer.

    

    He aquí el punto principal del dorama, la venganza en carne viva por aquellos quienes por el poder creen que pueden hacer lo que quieran con los de menos "clase". Tal vez por un tiempo puedan, pero ya vemos o nos deja claro este dorama que este tipo de actos siempre tienen consecuencias y de las peores.

    This is the main point of the dorama, revenge in the flesh by those who, because of their power, believe they can do whatever they want with those of lesser "class". Maybe for a while they can, but we see or this dorama makes it clear that this kind of acts always have consequences and the worst.

    Solo he visto 3 capítulos y estoy totalmente enganchado e impactado por la frialdad de la protagonista, esa entereza que tiene por hacer lo que sea necesario, que de un momento este seria y al segundo muestro una sonrisa macabra aludiendo el cinismo de quienes una vez se rieron en su cara y dejaron marcada su piel y vida entera.

    I have only seen 3 chapters and I am totally hooked and shocked by the coldness of the protagonist, that integrity she has for doing whatever it takes, that from one moment she is serious and the second she shows a macabre smile alluding to the cynicism of those who once laughed in her face and left her skin and entire life marked.

    

    Este es una trama que hay que prestarle muchísima atención y tener un estomago fuerte para asimilar ciertas escenas, que por cierto advierto que es la primera vez que en un dorama se muestre actos sexuales un tanto más explícitos de lo que estamos acostumbrados a no ver en las series o películas coreanas. Pero todo tiene un significado y razón necesaria para que por primera vez se muestre un dorama tan crudo y polémico.

    This is a plot that you have to pay a lot of attention and have a strong stomach to assimilate certain scenes, which by the way I warn that it is the first time that a dorama shows more explicit sexual acts than what we are used to not see in Korean series or movies. But everything has a meaning and a necessary reason to show such a crude and controversial dorama for the first time.

    Sin duda alguna merece mi total aplauso y atención, estoy seguro que estaré complacido con los otros capítulos pendientes y por supuesto impaciente por la segunda parte que ya tiene fecha de estreno.

    It certainly deserves my full applause and attention, I'm sure I will be pleased with the other pending chapters and of course impatient for the second part that already has a release date.
