Hello friends of the Movies & Tv community, I hope you are well today. Today I want to talk to you about a psychological horror and science fiction movie that I saw recently with my sister and that left me really impressed especially for the theme of how a person can be a victim of psychological abuse by another person to the point of making him believe that everything that happens is his fault or because something is really wrong with him as a person and this is what happens in the story of The Invisible Man, a gripping story from beginning to end.

The plot tells the story of Cecilia Kass (Elisabeth Moss), a woman who lives in an abusive relationship with a man dedicated to science, Cecilia spends very dark moments within the relationship that make her think that everything she is living is wrong but she is in danger when she decides to leave the relationship with Adrian Griffin (Jackson-Cohen) who owns a huge fortune and has a high level of control over Cecilia's life following her steps every day and becoming a real torment in her life until Cecilia decides one day to take the decision to leave the house where she thought she had formed a home with the most wonderful man, but this is not going to bring good things to her life and it will not be so easy to leave Adrian behind.

After Cecilia literally runs for her life from Adrian's huge and luxurious mansion, she seeks refuge with the help of her sister and a trusted friend. As the days go by Cecilia's fear of being found grows to a level where she feels great fear of leaving the house where she is staying until one day she receives news from Adrian's only brother who is a lawyer and who notifies her one day that Adrian was found dead in his house after a suicide and that he left her a will where he put all his inheritance in Cecilia's name with the condition that every month one hundred thousand dollars be deposited to her account with the condition that she cannot get in trouble or go to prison, if this happens then the inheritance will be withheld and he will not be able to use the money.

For Cecilia, knowing that Adrian is no longer alive takes away some of the weight of her anguish, but the memories of what she lived with him remain and she goes through a process of post-traumatic stress where she has to learn to trust, even though it is difficult. Life after Adrian's death begins to seem simpler and Cecilia takes back the reins of her life but after a while things begin to become a little strange, things like movements of objects in the house where she lives, she also sees sometimes footsteps on the carpets and feels that somehow or another she is being watched and all this can only be about Adrian, although they say he is dead she knows that all this can not have ended so easily.

Cecilia lives the worst terror that a person can experience with someone who in effect is narcissistic and has psychopathic traits, the relationship she had with Adrian at the beginning seemed normal but then everything she did was controlled by him and if she did not do what he wanted then she would suffer the consequences. The psychological terror is fundamental in this story as well as science fiction because we are shown how with the help of science a kind of invisible shield is created that Adrian may be using to turn Cecilia's life into a nightmare and follow her every step, Besides, it takes her to live very difficult moments where her sanity is questioned and she is even hospitalized in a psychiatric center because she is perceived as a highly dangerous person who can harm others, but this is only the way in which Adrian, from where he is, looks for a way to make Cecilia understand that she must return to him even if she does not want to.

    GIF_20241007_223224_113.gif

Adrian is a psychopath and a man who has no fear or conscience about his actions, he simply shows himself as a man who knows he has enough power to hurt Cecilia if she decides not to be with him and even though he could be with any woman: he only wants her. There are many people who relate to each other and sometimes show only the prettier side of what they supposedly claim to be, but deep down you can find the worst being who is capable of killing to get what he wants. This story resonates a lot with those relationships in which one of the two believes he/she is the owner and superior to the other and seeks to minimize his/her partner and always remind him/her that if they are not together basically he/she will not be able to be with anyone else.

The film intertwines Cecilia's paranoia with the strange events that are occurring which adds excitement and terror to the story, you feel Adrian's control even though he cannot be seen physically but he is somehow present and willing to make Cecilia's life a living hell if she does not return to him. Leigh Whannell the film's director shows us in "The Invisible Man" a modern and terrifying reimagining of the classic novel by H.G. Wells. The film, starring Elisabeth Moss who gives a masterful performance and Oliver Jackson-Cohen who plays a disturbing villain, immerses us in a story of psychological horror and science fiction that leaves you very terrified of the uncertainty of knowing what may end in a story of persecution and obsession like this.

  2. The Invisible Man, psychological horror@ismaca689d
    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=934181)

Leigh Whannell's scientifically rigorous 2020 adaptation proves that psychological horror is better served by relatable realism than CGI spectacle.

Elisabeth Moss disappears on a tightrope as a survivor of partner abuse, tormented by her tech-savvy ex's diabolical, reality-blurring deceptions.

Whannell directs with masterful tact, using practical effects to make small interruptions seem truly sinister and manipulating light and shadow in a constant tightrope act of uncertainty.

Commenting on the social plague of gaslighting, the film gets under the skin only through suggestion as Moss navigates a 'gaslit' world that rejects his testimony. His descent into justified paranoia is abysmally plausible.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=934181)

Elegantly produced and mounted, Invisible Man never resorts to bloodshed, but inflicts violence through collateral damage on its heroine's mental well-being more disturbingly than any slasher opus.

A landmark that proves that intelligent monster stories endure by speaking directly to our fears, Invisible Man is a modern thriller for posterity that deserves widespread acclaim for its insightful artistry.

Unfortunately, it did not receive an Oscar nomination, despite Leigh Whannell proving himself a master of nuanced horror.

Elisabeth Moss delivered a powerfully controlled lead performance that certainly deserved awards attention.

However, audiences turned out in droves, resulting in $134 million worldwide on a modest budget of $7 million.

  3. Opinión sobre la película "El hombre invisible"/ Opinion about the movie "The Invisible Man".@lumpymoon993d

I have always liked to criticize the way they use technological updates to improve the scenarios and special effects that increase the experience and the level of each film, regardless of the genre that is released; however, before the productions of the horror world, unfortunately a low percentage has resisted to be consumed by the cyclical cliché where the films fall and starts a similar chain in the development of the moments of fear and mystery, becoming repetitive, tedious and uninteresting. So in the face of the surprise that the use of technology succeeds, that's where I love to highlight what will be worthwhile.

I'll start by applauding and cheering the extraordinary way they structured the villain's personality, based on the power that is being generated by technological advances, which are facilitating too much the daily things that people tend to do every day; as they sought to give a correct degree of evil to the intentions of our villain and combine his sinister mind with the great intelligence he has, I found it too epic and somewhat exciting hehe. Although I don't want to spoiler, it is an incredible way to stalk the prey with unexpected tools, improving the experience throughout the plot and giving 360 degree turns at the right time, generating hatred for the key characters and a great admiration for our protagonist for the way she seeks to defend herself despite being at a disadvantage.

When comparing this film with the 1933 film classic; one could consider this version as a readaptation of the character that was perfectly adapted to the time in which it was released, so it will benefit the good aging of the same, maintaining its epicness at least in the next 30 years. It has excellent plots of intrigue and suspense; the way in which the special effects are used, fits perfectly to the personality of the villain; it really generates a new fear of never wanting an ex-partner at that level of perversion haha, it's really a sick game that generates too much satisfaction at the end of the movie. Let me know if you've already seen the movie and what you thought of it; if not, I highly recommend it. Thanks for reading.

  4. Film Review: The Invisible Man (1933)@drax1104d

    (source: tmdb.org)

Claude Rains is considered to be one of the most iconic actors of Classic Hollywood, despite his best known roles being in films in which he played supporting characters. Somewhat ironically, his best known starring role and the one that actually launched his career in Hollywood is the one in which he almost never appears throughout the whole film. It was the title character of The Invisible Man, 1933 science fiction horror film directed by James Whale, nowadays considered to be one of the great early classics of the genre.

The film is based on the eponymous 1897 novel by H.G. Wells, British author who is considered one of the fathers of literary science fiction. Plot begins one snowy night when mysterious stranger (played by Rains) arrives in Iping, village in south of England, and takes room in the inn owned by Herbert Hall (played by Forrester Harvey) and his wife Jenny (played by Una O’Connor). The stranger is completely bandaged and wears black glasses, and apart from strange looks makes Halls and other inn patrons uncomfortable with his bad temper and desire to be left alone. He apparently turns room in some sort of chemistry lab, which, together with late payment of bills, make Halls demand that he leaves. He reacts by physically assaulting Herbert and when the police Constable Jaffers (played by E. E, Clive) is called to intervene, it is revealed that the stranger is actually invisible and quite adept and using this ability to cause all kinds of damage, injury and mischief in the village. Things further escalate when he kills police inspector, which leads to massive manhunt. It is later revealed that the Invisible Man is actually Dr. Jack Griffin, scientist who worked as the assistant to Dr. Cranley (played by Henry Travers), scientist whose daughter Flora (played by Gloria Stuart) used to be his fiancee. Griffin, working alone and in secrecy, actually discovered drug that could make him invisible, but failed to discover antidote that could bring him back to normal condition. Furthermore, the drug had the side effect of making the person not just invisible, but insane. Dr. Arthur Kemp (played by William Harrigan), another Cranley’s assistant, is contacted by Griffin who, driven by megalomania, wants old colleague to help him conduct campaign of murderous terror that should help him conquer the whole world.

The Invisible Man was produced by Universal Pictures, which, thanks to classics like Dracula and Frankenstein made two years earlier, established itself as the Hollywood studio specialised for horror films. Like those two films, it was based on the literary classics of the genre and, like Frankenstein, it was directed by James Whale. Film was actually quite faithful to the literary source, which could be explained with Wells being still alive during the production and often very critical of the ways cinema of his time handled science fiction. More importantly, Whale, who had began his career in British theatre, has brought his old associated, famed playwright R. C. Sheriff, to write the screenplay. His work resulted in a film that efficiently mixes mystery, suspense, horror and dark comedy, especially in the scene when the murderous mayhem produced by insane and seemingly unstoppable invisible killer is accompanied by his sarcastic commentary. What began as series of pranks escalate into sadistic violence, ending not only with very cruel murder, but also with train derailment resulting in large number of innocent people killed, making The Invisible Man a horror film with the largest body count in history of Classic Hollywood. Whale, on the other hand, tries to give the film a bit of realism, mostly through the character of unnamed no-nonsense Chief Detective (played by Dudley Digges) that tries to catch Griffin. Whale directs film with great skill and, like most of horror films made in early 1930s, keeps quick pace and wraps everything within seventy minutes.

But the greatest achievement of the film is very convincing depiction of invisibility. The optical effects were primitive, but also very expensive and took much of the budget, but the result is impressive even now, when we are accustomed to CGI. The Invisible Man also tries to approach the phenomenon of invisibility in somewhat realistic manner and some of its practical but unpleasant aspects are discussed by characters, like Griffin’s food being visible until it is digested. Griffin can be invisible only if he is naked, which limits his antics only on periods of fair and relatively warm weather, which is something rare in England. The very mention of nakedness would likely have those scenes cut out from the film, if he had been produced only few months later, with enforcement of strict MPAA Production Code.

Just like Bela Lugosi’s refusal to play character under heavy makeup had allowed Boris Karloff to become star in Frankenstein, Karloff’s refusal to play invisible character has allowed Rains to shine. He can be seen only at the end, while in other scenes he simply borrows his regal voice, successfully portraying character brought to murderous lunacy. The other members of the cast aren’t that effective. Otherwise dependable character actress Una O’Connor falls into too much hysterics during the early scene, while Gloria Stuart (who would decades later became famous as old version of Rose in Titanic) doesn’t add much with weak and almost redundant semi-romantic subplot. The Invisible Man, despite those flaws, became big hit and part of so-called “Universal Horrors”. In subsequent years Universal produced series of semi-sequels with very vague connection with this film. The Invisible Man nevertheless became part of popular culture and was, among other things, spoofed in one of the more memorable gags in 1987 comedy Amazon Women on the Moon. In 2020 an eponymous remake with strong feminist overtones, starring Elisabeth Moss, was produced.

  5. The Invisible Man || Personalised supernatural abilities@cute-cactus1363d

We want certain abilities to exist and to be our own, special to us. Abilities such as being able to fly, lift a lot of weight, run extremely fast and become invisible are just some of them. The fact that it is personalised, such as the abilities belonging to superheroes, makes it more privileged.

The 2020 film The Invisible Man was just one of the films about supernatural abilities. We can consider the film as two separate parts, I could only watch the film in two days. The duration was not too long, when it comes to real life, it is possible to encounter an unexpected mishap at any time.

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/fBF2JxBL8G6zIf0db5DVCHu89eg.jpg)

The first part of the film was quite boring and had a structure that hid the story like a secret. I think they tried to arouse a sense of curiosity in order to attract the attention of the audience. I can say that they were partially effective in this, but the film was about a scientist with obsessive feelings who made a woman he was obsessively in love with tired of living. The mysterious progress of the plot increased the boredom and simplified the film.

In the second part, the film deciphered the mystery and started to deal with its real subject and integrate it with the story, and the first part of the film became interesting during the merger.

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/brhk2hRZkSxN9xFBf2PHhjTN9Wp.jpg)

After watching the film The Invisible Man from the beginning to the end, I can say with peace of mind that it was a great misfortune that the scientist who made an extraordinary invention like being invisible used it on an obsessive love. After a short thought, imagining what can be done about "being invisible" means removing all boundaries because I know no boundaries on invisibility. lol

Elisabeth Moss, who played the character of Cecilla, was good in the role of a woman obsessively in love. I think she was the single biggest contributor to the film in terms of acting.

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/uaQFfnJ3J0hKtxyAM6SMoXLVxyK.jpg)

While watching the film, you inevitably ask yourself questions because the ability of invisibility is wasted throughout the film. Although I like her acting, I don't think Cecilla's beauty is enough for someone who has the ability of invisibility to be obsessed with her.

I don't know, rob a bank! Use your invisibility on women who are much more beautiful! Play pranks on people who can't see you! Get in everywhere for free! Even get on the pitch and score goal(s) for your favourite team! I guess these are my obsessive feelings. lol

    [source](https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/w500_and_h282_face/6tADUYnZ0cZw8Tg4xgFsQ34AHYU.jpg)

The film is nonetheless worth watching and worth your time, but it can provoke obsessive emotions like the one above. There are also a few little surprises in the last scenes of the film where they manage to surprise the audience.

I can't measure how tempting it would be if we couldn't see what we see, but some ideas still come to my mind and I smile!

How to make a good movie that would be a remake, but at the same time create a story full of pain and madness. This is what the well-known screenwriter and director Leigh Whannel, who has made a name for himself in the cinema for his unconventional ideas and for always scaring the viewer with something unprecedented, was wondering. His films are different and spooky, but always with a human factor. His career began with a phenomenal script for Saw, and then he slowly began to establish himself as a director. His latest work is The Invisible Man, which is a loose adaptation of films from the 1930s, but very contemporary with a very good theme.

We fear what we cannot see

The film is theoretically a horror film, although not as we imagine it to be, it's a real, tangible human nightmare rather than some ghost or phantom. It would be hard to make a good movie that would get people interested in monster movies again, so here the director went a step further by creating a story that takes place In many homes, although not all have a happy ending.

    7D34161B-3EA2-4AEA-990C-60B150402C91.jpeg source.

    escape but where to?

The script is the film's greatest gold, a work largely based on tangible things, so that we feel shock, sadness, grief, anger giving a range of emotions largely negative, though the reception of the film is very good.

From the visual side it is a small masterpiece, the director has already accustomed us to the camera work in Upgrade, now he went a step further by following the camera in such a way that we feel fear even without knowing whether there will be something scary in the given moment, the camera is smooth and the long sequences even bombard the viewer with the anxiety prevailing at that moment. The music often builds the atmosphere confusingly so that the viewer constantly feels the proximity of the enemy, who could be hiding behind our backs.

The plot tells the story of a woman who is abused and leaves her boyfriend, she manages to escape but he threatens to find her and get her, since then she is afraid to leave the house. One day she finds out that her boyfriend Adrian committed suicide, theoretically the nightmare is over and she starts to put her life back together, but slowly she starts to feel strange phenomena, everything is slowly leading the protagonist to insanity, or maybe Adrian is not dead at all but continues to haunt his girlfriend creating fanciful techniques to finally take everything away from her.

The finale is mega satisfying and man, it's been a long time since I've seen such a good finale where I felt satisfaction with what happened. I recommend watching it, some of the most interestingly made films and one of the best horror films, because the worst horror films are made by people to other people.

    50E55F98-EB06-45EA-8AAC-1088062950A2.jpeg zrodlo.

    [English Version]

Hello Hivers movie and series lovers, a few days ago being with some friends recommended me to watch this movie, they are people who certainly know some of my tastes and they were sure that this production would seem interesting to me, I have decided to watch it and immediately write my review. In this post I will make an analysis of this production and I will give it a score according to my personal assessment, so at the end of the reading you will know if I sent a message of thanks to those friends or if on the contrary I end up insulting them, Time to Start!

This is a movie released in the year 2020, it is a production that can be cataloged in different genres of cinema, however, it could be said that it is a story where suspense is superimposed but at the same time we can catalog it within the category of science fiction. From my point of view this is a film that fits perfectly in the genre of Thriller, a genre that seeks to give emotions such as uncertainty, surprise and excitement to the viewer, this film does it in a good way executing a very interesting story.

    Synopsis

Cecilia Kass is a woman who wants to separate from her cruel and manipulative husband, to escape from this nightmare in a very ingenious escape manages to find out after a few weeks that her husband took his life, however, begin to observe strange events around her, she will doubt the death of her husband and begin to suspect that still watching her even inside the room. Although she cannot explain what cannot be seen she will try to fight to keep herself not only alive but also sane to save the lives of those around her.

    Movie Analysis

    Story

I like to start by analyzing the story of the film because in most cases the curiosity conveyed by the poster, the trailer or the synopsis is what drives the viewer to watch a movie. In this case we certainly observe a science fiction story rather than in the traditional horror genre, although there is enough suspense the events that occur throughout this film are not products of paranormal events.

    Source

The story contemplates quite interesting aspects for the viewer, generally human beings are afraid of what they do not know and in that sense sight is one of the senses in which we trust the most, so not being able to see something that can kill you will certainly produce a sense of anguish within the viewer. While this is conveyed by traditional horror films, to this story we add one of the most exciting fantasies of mankind in terms of science fiction, invisibility. Perhaps we could imagine a small part of all that a person can do being invisible but at the same time feel a chilling sensation if it turns out to be a murderer or psychopath who is visible to the human eye, undoubtedly these are aspects that capture the viewer's attention from the beginning.

    Source

While this story is not new and we know some productions that make reference to invisibility, the plot in this production gives it that touch of personality that we always want to see in productions, the narrative or the way in which the plot tells us this story is something that entertains during the 124 minutes of duration of this film.

It is a very direct production and does not waste time in unnecessary subplots, in my opinion it has the right pace going from less to more as the minutes go by, although at the beginning the pace is slower when approaching the final phase of the production we notice an important change in the dynamics of the scenes giving the film exciting moments with some action without going out of sync or coherence of the narrative, Therefore, we notice a good structure around this production that although it does not have many surprises or significant twists in the plot, it provides good entertainment to the viewer.

    Source

    Performance

Definitely the performance of Elisabeth Moss cannot be overlooked, in my opinion this performance makes the whole film stand out, her interpretation of Cecilia Kass is magnificent, she transmits the emotions correctly and makes the viewer live in the flesh the different situations that the production shows us.

From the first appearance on camera she gives us a good performance, in a scene where you can cut the tension with a knife. Later she shows us a woman abused and mistreated by her husband both physically and psychologically, transmitting those emotions that stand out from the screen and reach the viewer.

    Source

There are scenes in which she seems to be on the verge of madness, the same are masterfully interpreted by this American actress, she surprised me in the scenes in which she is confined in a psychiatric clinic already reaching the edge of her mental capacity, the look on her face and her expressions are significant to understand the psychological situation of the character.

This performance gives a unique essence to the film, highlighting a controversial issue such as gender violence, Elisabeth Moss does a great job in my opinion and ultimately is one of the highlights of the entire production.

    Source

    The Ending

The ending seems excellent and appropriate in my opinion, showing not only the end of the scenes of the film but also an important twist in the psychology of the main character which would be overcoming the traumas of the past but at the same time feeling carnal desires as human as revenge.

    Visual effects

It seems to me that the production has very good visual effects but at the same time they are not exaggerated or out of place, they are necessary to give emotion to the plot, all accompanied by a very good camera work and photography giving a very good visual quality.

    Rating

    ⭐️ 8.1

    Final Opinion

It is an entertaining film, with a good suspense that at times can be cut in the environment, intrigue and a correct narrative in their arguments, complemented by excellent acting work that impacts the viewer. The film has very good scenes touching the door of the horror genre, despite having a duration of just over two hours worth watching.

    Source

    Do I recommend it?

Yes, undoubtedly a large part of the general public will find it a very good production, especially if you are a fan of the suspense genre. It is one of those movies that we can use to watch with friends in an afternoon knowing that most of them will find it an interesting story which is developed in a very good way.

It is a pleasure to write for all of you, I hope you have enjoyed this short post and I look forward to the next movie review.

  8. The Invisible Man a movie with an unexpected twist/El hombre invisible una película con un giro inesperado@neiraurdaneta1922d

    <center<hombre invisible 1.jpg

Hello friends, today I will talk about a movie that has had many remakes over the years. The Invisible Man, it is a novel by HG Wells, which was published in 1897. It is about a scientist who has dedicated himself to the research of optics and invent a way to change the index of refraction of a body for that of air so that it does not absorb or reflect light and becomes invisible. He successfully performs this procedure on himself, but fails to reverse it. Griffin's character is enthusiastic about violence and has become over the years one of the best horror characters in science fiction.

This new version is brought by the Netflix production and differs from the other films where either there is a supernatural touch or it was the body itself that became invisible, on the other hand in this new version its director has wanted to be based on a technological advance and make the costume invisible this time. A full-body suit made up of thousands of small cameras that play with the refraction and reflection of light to prevent the wearer from being seen.

A clever way to review the classic and give it a spin. Another novelty of this masterful film in the social and family drama, where Cecilia (Elisabeth Moss) is a victim of an abusive relationship perpetrated by her husband.

A mad scientist fakes her suicide and then uses her invisibility to terrorize her ex-partner, who decides to confront the invisible man herself after the police did not believe her story.

  9. The Invisible Man – Movie Review@readingdanvers2079d

    The invisible man.jpg

The Invisible Man is an excellent movie, horror at its best. The Invisible Man was written and directed by Leigh Whannell, the same person who directed and wrote Upgrade. He is just an excellent writer director. He has a few more exciting things coming and I will probably watch them all. He has proven himself.

For a movie written and directed by a man, and which is loosely based on a book written by a man ("The Invisible Man" by H. G. Wells, 1897) it is a very feminist movie. It deals with abusive, manipulative and devastating relationships, and how abused women are not heard and treated as insane or hysteric. That was more horrifying then the horror parts of the movie. Although it did had pretty good horror in it, and no cheap jump scares. But it did had one jump scare that will stay with me forever. It was just a really good horror movie.

This movie also has some great acting. Elisabeth Moss who plays Cecilia, our main character, basically carries the entire movie on her shoulders. She gets great assistance from a great script. She has common sense. That is really rare in a horror movie. Common sense is marred by some pretty intense PTSD, but it is still common sense. Moss acting is so great, subtle and yet intense that you can read the emotions on her face, her physical reactions are spot on, and she is just superb in this movie. Everyone else does their best, but it is hard to compare as Moss is the only one with a significant role. Oliver Jackson-Cohen does his best as creepy stalker boyfriend Adrian Griffin. Harriet Dyer is ok as Cecilia's only occasionally understanding sister. Aldis Hodge is James Lanier, a nice police detective who lets Cecilia stay with him and his daughter Sydney, who is played by Storm Reid. Almost everyone does their best acting work.

Everyone are assisted by an amazing script and visuals. The movie starts off with Cecilia running away from her abusing boyfriend's house. She drugged him and runs out. Considering the amount of security and high walls surrounding him house, you can instantly tell that this guy is a different level of crazy. Her sister comes to pick her up, but she's a bit late. Causing Adrian to almost catch up with them. He breaks the window of the car with his punch. Yeah, he is a little too physically strong in this movie. Cecilia moves in with the detective and forbids her sister to make any contact with her because Adrian knows where she lives. It is clear that Cecilia has serious PTSD. She refuses to leave the house, she is jumpy, and scared. Despite all of her precautions she gets a letter from a lawyer telling her that Adrian is dead and that in his inheritance he has left her 5 million dollars. Even though there are no strings attached, there are people attached. Soon Cecilia feels like Adrian is still alive and following her. It is just little things that makes everyone think that she is crazy. Keep your eye open and stay focused. These are very gentle visuals choices that are hard to spot. Visually this movie is just brilliant. The plot doesn't escalates too quickly. People are not stupid. Mostly. And there are a few shocking twists and turns. It is just great.

Sure this movie isn't typical supernatural or slasher horror, but it is a lot of fun. Also, yeah, this movie should come with every trigger warning possible for abusive relationship content, so it might be too much for sensible people. But for the majority of people it is a really well-crafted horror movie.

  10. El hombre invisible / The invisible man (1933): Review@miguelpeliculas2137d

One of the characteristics of movies today is the special effects, although let me tell you that some of them should learn or at least watch this movie once, since for its time, it has really formidable effects.

And not only the success of this film is in the special effects, but also in "the voice" of the invisible man. Claude Rains does an excellent job and I understand why he has such a reputation as a good actor.

  11. The Invisible Man Review - A Mixture of Horror and Science Fiction@reviewzzz2212d

When the wife finds herself under her husband's womb and cannot control her actions, even her thinking, it leads her to run away. In a psychological horror movie, I give you a review of The Invisible Man

    The story of the movie

The movie begins with Cecilia, the heroine of the movie, as she tries to escape from her husband from their home. It appears that the house is full of cameras everywhere, so Cecilia decided to escape in the darkness and her husband is sleeping. Cecilia took her own suitcase and jumped over the fence, but by mistake she touched the car and the alarm went off. Cecilia quickly escaped to the street and her sister Emily was waiting outside, but her husband had caught up with them and broke the car windows, but they quickly escaped. Cecilia seems to have quickly thrown a packet of diazepam, which her husband then took. Cecilia fled to a friend of her sister James Maat, his daughter Sydney, but it seemed that fear had filled her to the limit, so she was not even out of the house. Emily tried to inquire a lot about what happened to her, but she did not answer her about the reason for that panic. But one day Emily unexpectedly visited her, contrary to her sister’s request to inform her that her husband had committed suicide. Cecilia reassured her a little and calmed down and thought that things were fine, but she was not. Cecilia was dreaming of nightmares, and at one time she woke up to find footprints in her room. Cecilia was very terrified, and James woke up, but he found nothing. Cecilia thought that all this was just nightmares and that she was just a psychological horror of what happened and she told them the reason for her escape from her husband and the reason for the constant fear that she was in and that he was controlling everything from her actions to the way she thought. But it seems that the matter was not just nightmares or delusions. At the same time, during the shower, Cecilia found a box of diazepam, which had occurred on the day of the escape. Cecilia scared that much and went to her brother-in-law, the lawyer, to tell him that her husband, the optician, had forged his death, but his brother revealed to her the surprise that he had seen his brother's body himself and that his ashes were in his box. It seems that something big is awaiting Cecilia from the hidden dead husband.

    An impression of the movie

The movie tells us a psychological horror story between a wife who does not know what to do and a silent husband who is in control. The movie, although it is a science fiction and horror, but it depicted a much larger story for us, which is how psychological horror can control your life to the fullest extent. It even makes you not live your life at all. The film also gave us a sacrifice from James and how he is trying to contain the poor wife. Daydreaming and psychological horror may prevent you from life.

Great performance from all the actors, especially Elizabeth Moss, who gave us a special performance that made us feel terrified and excited everyone.

    Cinematography

Although the movie is a horror film of the first degree, it provided us with another kind of horror, which is silent horror That makes you afraid of silence and not of loud sounds or terrifying scenes. We have not noticed in this movie the use of optical tricks, horrific scenes and animated dolls, like the rest of the horror movies Rather, the director only suffices to conceal the sound in order to make you terrify. In every moment when the sound was reduced, I would lower the sound of the movie, waiting Terrible loud sound is coming. Calm was the horror in the movie simply. Therefore, photography was very important in highlighting horror in the movie. Sometimes, for example, we find that the camera is fixed in one place despite Cecilia's movement away. The movie did not need fast shots or quickly changed between scenes. Rather, it was the calm feature of photography and the slow transition with the movie's heroine.

    And finally

The film succeeded in providing us with a wonderful show of silent horror and science fiction with a new idea and a new cause as well It discusses one of the issues of women spread in all countries of the world.

  12. The Invisible Man - My favorite suspense film of recent months.@dedicatedguy2290d

I am sure we have all seen a movie with this character but the new remake is the best one there is without any doubt. The story is completely changed, this is a more psychological take on the life of a woman that finds herself forced to deal with an invisible presence that is very hostile.

The woman is distressed since the beginning of the story, so maybe we are dealing with a case of an unreliable narrator? Are these things actually happening or is she imagining everything? You will have to see it to confirm it for yourself. The movie plays this option beautifully in the beginning.

The premise isn't hard to guess and any specific thing I could tell can be considered a spoiler. This is a thriller with some parts that could very well belong in the horror genre, or at least in suspense. It is a very serious and well-thought production and according to what I read, Blumhouse is going to continue producing more films about unique monsters and villains so I recommend checking their other movies as well as their future ones.

Elizabeth Moss gives an awesome performance as a stresses woman, just like she did in The Handmaid's Tales. It certainly seems like she was born to play this type of role. Imagine yourself being tormented with something you cannot see but you are sure it is real? It can drive anyone crazy. Check the image above and look at how real her crazy look is. She really seems like a crazy woman who belongs in a mental hospital.

I think this will be one of the main contenders for the best suspense film of the year. It had very intense moments, well shots, great acting, and nice special effects. It reminded me a little bit of Paranormal Activity, because some creepy scenes were actually very simple to shot. The best aspects of this movie were not only Moss's performance but also the camera work that implies the viewer there might be something there but what?!

This was one of the most entertaining movies I have seen in 2020. A must watch for those that have suspense/thriller as their favorite genre. The general public will also enjoy it for the most part.

    The best

    • Awesome performance from Elizabeth Moss and amazing camera work.
    • Nice changes in the invisible man story.
    • Interesting plot.

    The worst

    • There were a few silly mistakes that are typical of characters when facing high-stress situations. They were easy to spot for the relaxed viewer and they were absolutely tolerable, but it is a defect nonetheless.
    • It could have been used more soundtrack to intensify some situations even more. Some parts were lacking a piece of proper music.
