Hi friends, recently I have been watching some Disney classics and recently I saw the Princess and the Frog, coming to the conclusion again that it is one of the best films, not only because of how funny it is or because of its beautiful story, but because I consider that in it they did a very good job of adapting the original story, and to make matters worse a very good inclusion totally plausible and very different to what they want to sell us nowadays about it.
Hola amigos, recientemente he estado viendo algunos clásicos de Disney y hace poco vi la Princesa y el Sapo, llegando nuevamente a la conclusión de que es una de las mejores películas, no solo por lo divertida que es o por su hermosa historia, sino porque considero que en ella se hizo un muy buen trabajo de adaptación de la historia original, y para más inri una muy buena inclusión totalmente verosímil y muy diferente a lo que quieren vendernos actualmente respecto a ello.
Overview/Resumen
Tiana is a young girl who works hard to achieve her and her father's dream of opening a restaurant, the girl works double shifts every day and over the years she has made a lot of money, but when she was about to close the deal with the owners of the restaurant, they backed out because they wanted more money, However, Prince Naveen arrived in New Orleans with the purpose of finding a wife, but a magician named Dr Facilier turned him into a frog and in an attempt to break the spell, Neveen asks Tiana to kiss him, but she also ended up turned into a frog, which forces them to start a journey through the Bayou Bayou in search of someone who can break the spell.
Tiana es una jovencita que trabaja duro para lograr su sueño y el de su padre que consiste en abrir un restaurante, la chica trabaja doble turno todos los días y a lo largo de los años juntó bastante dinero, pero cuando estaba a punto de cerrar el trato con los dueños del local, ellos se retractaron ya que querían más dinero, no obstante llegó el príncipe Naveen a Nueva Orleans con el propósito de buscar una esposa, pero un mago llamado Dr Facilier lo convirtió en rana y en un intento por romper el hechizo, Neveen le pide a Tiana que lo bese, pero ella también terminó convertida en rana, lo que los obliga a iniciar una travesía por el pantano Bayou en busca de alguien que pueda romper el hechizo.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
I consider that this film has two very, very important elements that are the basis of its success, in the first place the verisimilitude, that is to say, that the whole story is absolutely credible, the script is written in a context that makes it possible for Tiana to be a black "princess", since everything takes place in New Orleans, we know that the original story, that of the Brothers Grimm (The Frog Prince) takes place in Europe and therefore the protagonist is Caucasian, nevertheless (and here comes the second element that made it successful) this story makes it very clear that it is not a copy or remake of previous films or stories already established, but it is an adaptation of that story, let's say that they took the original idea, in fact in the film the story of the princess and the frog already exists, and Tiana's mother reads it for her and Charlotte, therefore Naveen, wants Tiana to break the spell with a kiss just like in the story of the book.
Yo considero que esta película cuenta con dos elementos muy pero muy importantes que son la base de su éxito, en primer lugar la verosimilitud, es decir, que toda la historia es absolutamente creíble, el guion está escrito en un contexto que hace posible que Tiana sea una "princesa" negra, ya que todo transcurre en nueva Orleans, sabemos que la historia original, la de los hermanos Grimm (El príncipe rana) transcurre en Europa y por lo tanto la protagonista es caucásica, no obstante (y aquí viene el segundo elemento que la hizo exitosa) esta historia deja muy claro que no se trata de una copia o remake de films o historias anteriores ya prestablecidas, sino que es una adaptación de esa historia, digamos que tomaron la idea original, de hecho en la película la historia de la princesa y el sapo ya existe, y la madre de Tiana la lee para ella y para Charlotte, por lo tanto Naveen, quiere que tal y como en la historia del libro Tiana rompa el hechizo con un beso.
In fact, this is not the first time that Disney has adapted a story in a different context. We have already seen it in The Lion King, where they used the main plot of Shakespeare's Hamlet as a basis.
De hecho no es la primera vez que Disney hace una adaptación de una historia en un contexto diferente, ya lo habíamos visto en el Rey león, donde nos planteaban el argumento principal de Hamlet, de Shakespeare, lo usaron como base.
I also really like the message of overcoming that this film shows us, although magic is also part of the story for the first time we are not presented with the idea that it is enough to wave a magic wand for all your problems to be solved and your dreams to come true, Tiana works hard, very hard to get what she wants, not only the restaurant, but also her humanity.
También me gusta muchísimo el mensaje de superación que nos muestra este film, si bien la magia también forma parte de la historia por primera vez no nos plantean la idea de que solo basta con mover una varita mágica para que todos tus problemas se resuelvan y tus sueños se hagan realidad, Tiana trabaja duro, muy duro por obtener lo que quiere, no solo el restaurante, sino también su humanidad.
But Tiana was not perfect, as nobody in real life is, she was very focused on fulfilling her dreams, that's true but unfortunately she forgot to live, she was too demanding with herself, she didn't allow herself to relax a bit, and this is where Prince Naveen did his part, he showed her the way to take time for herself, to enjoy life and music. Both were each other's complement and love did not come between them out of nowhere, but there was a previous living together (their journey) that helped them to get to know each other, to understand each other's reasons and to help each other.
Pero Tiana no era perfecta, como nadie en la vida real lo es, ella estaba muy enfocada en cumplir sus sueños, eso es cierto pero lamentablemente se olvidaba de vivir, era demasiado exigente consigo misma, no se permitía relajarse un poco, y aquí es donde el príncipe Naveen hizo su parte, le mostró la forma de tomarse tiempo para si misma, de disfrutar de la vida y de la música. Ambos fueron el complemento del otro y el amor no surgió entre ellos de la nada, sino que hubo una previa convivencia (su travesía) que les sirvió para conocerse, entender sus razones y ayudarse.
On the other hand, Charlotte, Tiana's best friend, never offered Tiana money in exchange for anything to complete what she needed because she knew she would never accept it, but offered her a job, trusted her talent and with that she was able to get the money.
Por otra parte Charlotte, la mejor amiga de Tiana nunca le ofreció dinero a Tiana a cambio de nada para completar lo que le hacía falta porque sabía que ella jamás lo aceptaría, sino que le ofreció trabajo, confió en su talento y con ello pudo obtener el dinero.

On the other hand I loved the Bayou characters, the musician crocodile who had such a good rhythm, and the firefly, eternally in love with the star Evangeline. I was very sad to see what Dr Facilier did to her (which makes him a more despicable villain).
Por otra parte me encantaron los personajes del Bayou, el cocodrilo musico que tenía tan buen ritmo, y la luciérnaga, eterna enamorada de la estrella Evangeline. Me dio mucha tristeza ver lo que le hizo el Dr Facilier (lo que lo vuelve un villano más despreciable)
Tiana is one of the best Disney characters because she didn't let herself be discouraged, even though her boss sometimes implied that she would never be able to raise the money, and what I like most about her is that she saw a whole universe of possibilities in that ramshackle building she was trying to buy, she knew she had to work hard to turn it into a fancy restaurant but she was willing to do it and she did it, but best of all, Navenee supported her and worked with her to make it happen.
Tiana es uno de los mejores personajes de Disney porque no se dejó desalentar, a pesar de que su jefe algunas veces le daba a entender que nunca lograría juntar el dinero, y lo que más me gusta de ella es que veía todo un universo de posibilidades en ese edificio destartalado que pretendía comprar, sabía que debía trabajar mucho para convertirlo en un restaurante elegante pero estaba dispuesta a hacerlo y lo hizo, pero lo mejor de todo es que Navenee la apoyo y trabajó junto a ella para lograrlo.
