Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening, ladies and gentlemen. How are you? I have been a bit absent because in a way, you could say I am preparing a tribute to a work that we all appreciate (although certainly not for this specific community), but as it has many chapters, I will obviously take a few more days. In the meantime, to not leave you with nothing, as usual I came across a Facebook post that caught my attention, another episode of Black Mirror so I decided to watch it without many expectations. Apparently, the ending was shocking so well, I had to see how it was, although perhaps what spoiled the experience a bit for me was that the post promoting the episode technically showed the ending, my bad, but what can you do. Black Mirror, in case anyone doesn't know, could be considered one of Netflix's first flagship series, due to the theme of its episodes where current (mostly technological) issues were addressed in an eccentric way, trying to convey a clear message to the viewer. Some of them can be very exaggerated, but there are also very interesting ones. So without further ado, to not keep you waiting any longer, let's talk a little about "Shut Up and Dance" (3*03).

The episode puts us in Kenny's shoes, we will see what he does in his daily life, how his routine is and how he performs in it, how his coworkers treat him and how his relationship with his family is. Apparently everything happens with total normality (except that we see some signs of bullying from his coworkers), until one day because his laptop is broken he decides to use his brother's laptop, this event affecting him greatly and telling his sister not to do it again, taking it out of her hands and later putting a lock system on his door, we could assume that Kenny wants to protect his privacy at all costs, when he uses his computer he realizes that it has malware installed by his sister, who had downloaded an app to watch free movies, Kenny will choose to download an antivirus to solve the problem, this being the big mistake from which he will never recover. Kenny will be extorted because he was recorded masturbating from his laptop due to the antivirus (which contained a virus) he installed, now in order to keep everything under wraps and prevent his life from being ruined, he must complete each and every task (along with other people also being extorted) that is assigned to him by his extortionists.

The main theme of the plot is to see if it is possible to judge what people do during intimacy and privacy, thus having various subjects who are judged for their "sins" as if it were a SAW movie, in a kind of shady game, all the people we see during the episode have something to hide, they do not want anything to come to light, they are never seen worried about what they have done, they just do not want their loved ones to find out, they show no remorse and prefer to take actions or commit crimes that could be considered worse than the reason they are extorted for, but here comes a big question, can something be considered bad if it doesn't harm anyone as long as it stays hidden? We could easily say that keeping secrets that do not affect others is fine but it really depends a lot on what you are hiding from others and more so if this involves an illegal action where third parties are also implicated, in addition to being a crime punishable by law. Despite the fact that the extortionists judge "bad" people, it is also important to see that they are not exempt from wrongdoing, what they do is also wrong, acting on their own, although in a way their actions could be justified in certain cases where the law does not intervene as in cases of infidelity.

In a way, we have this message between the lines that no one is who they really seem to be, we all might be hiding something, leading a second life online, where our close ones are not aware of our actions even if in a way this could be harmful or beneficial to others, because we create a digital footprint, everything we do under anonymity can come to light and be associated with us if someone discovers our true identity. I can consider the chapter as an impeccable production where the tension is felt at all times and we can truly feel the fear that the protagonist feels, he doesn't want anyone to discover him, what did he do so wrong that he is hiding it? These are some of the questions that will cross the viewer's mind, the most shocking part is obviously when we get to the end, each of the sins of all involved are revealed, leaving the most shocking revelation for the end, Kenny's. For now, I could say this is one of my favorite episodes of Black Mirror, if I find another one that I like, I will let you know with another review. I recommend you watch this one specifically, you will be in for a big surprise.

In the past, it was common to see how an actress or actor, after achieving fame in a television production, made the leap from the small screen to the big screen; nowadays, it is the productions of streaming services that have the possibility to promote and give fame to certain actors preparing them for a possible film career, being the difference, the "ease" in which they can move in a comfort zone created by the same streaming platform, without the need to know if they are a movie star that can generate large amount of revenue just by appearing their name in a production; in my opinion a great example is the actress Millie Bobby Brown who in her young, but fruitful career, her work is based on what she has done on Netflix.

Anteriormente, era habitual ver cómo una actriz o actor después de alcanzar la fama en alguna producción televisiva, realice el salto de la pantalla chica a la grande; en el tiempo actual, son las producciones de servicios de streaming que tiene la posibilidad de promocionar y dar fama a ciertos actores preparándolos para una posible carrera cinematográfica, siendo la diferencia, la "facilidad" en que puede transitar en una zona de confort creada por la misma plataforma de streaming, sin la necesidad de saber si es una estrella del cine que puede generar gran cantidad de recaudación con tan solo aparecer su nombre en una producción; en mi opinión un gran ejemplo es la actriz Millie Bobby Brown quien en su joven, pero fructífera carrera, su trabajo se basa en lo que realizado en Netflix.

"Damsel" is the new Netflix production, a fantasy film that tells the story of Princess "Elodie", who along with her sister, father and stepmother, are the rulers of a small kingdom which is hit by drought and famine and will soon have to face the cold of winter; Among so many problems, the visit of a messenger from the kingdom of Aurea seems to be the salvation that "Lord Bayford" was waiting for, because the prince of Aurea has chosen Elodie to be his wife and in the future rule together a great kingdom full of riches; until now everything is happiness and perfection, but the kingdom of Aurea hides a serious secret, which will make Eloide must show strength and courage to survive and save his family.

"Damsel" es la nueva producción de Netflix, una película de fantasía que narra la historia de la princesa "Elodie", quien junto a su hermana, padre y madrastra, son los gobernantes de un pequeño reino el cual es golpeado por la sequía y hambruna y que próximamente se deberá enfrentar al frío del invierno; entre tantos problemas, la visita de un mensajero del reino de Aurea parece ser la salvación que estaba esperando el "Lord Bayford" y es que el príncipe de Aurea, ha elegido a Elodie para que sea su esposa y en un futuro gobernar juntos un gran reino lleno de riquezas; hasta este momento todo es felicidad y perfección, pero el Reino de Aurea esconde un grave secreto, lo cual hará que Eloide deba demostrar fuerza y valentía para poder sobrevivir y así salvar a su familia.

This film is one of those that I did not want to see, but if you are given the choice between "Madame Web" and this film, there is no doubt that I would choose this film which I had not seen negative or positive opinions and that made me create the expectation that at least meets to be entertaining and I can say that at the moment it is, more specifically, its second act is entertaining, the cost of production is noticeable and it is more than anything by a correct use of CGI, something very contrary to what was seen in the third act and final, where the scenery, animation and lighting are very poor, you can see the false and anticlimactic.

The main theme of the story, refers to do whatever it takes to achieve a goal; whatever the way to achieve it; the script offers that definition of the story from its main scenes and its handling in the story is what I liked the most, the other thing is that weak transit in relation to the horror genre which I would have liked to develop more, to have more weight with respect to the pagan, the offering, the sacrifice, that madness for the sacrifice, that would have given more maturity to this story that tries to cover the narrative holes with very simple and boring resolutions.

Esta película entra en ese grupo de las que no quería ver, pero si te dan a elegir entre "Madame Web" y este film, no hay duda que iba a elegir este film el cual no había visto opiniones ni negativas, ni positivas y eso me hizo crear la expectativa de que al menos cumpla con ser entretenida y puedo decir que por los momentos lo es, más especifico, su segundo acto es entretenido, se nota el costo de la producción y es más que nada por un correcto uso del CGI, algo muy contrario a lo visto en el tercer acto y final, en donde las escenografías, animación e iluminación son muy pobres, se nota lo falso y es anticlimático.

El tema principal de la historia, hace referencia de hacer lo posible para obtener un cometido; sea cual sea la manera de lograrlo; el guion ofrece esa definición de la historia desde sus escenas principales y su manejo en la historia es lo que más me agradó, lo otro es ese débil transitar en lo referente al género del terror lo cual me hubiera gustado que se desarrollara más, que tuviera más peso con respecto a lo pagano, la ofrenda, el sacrificio, esa locura por el sacrificio, eso hubiera dado más madurez a esta historia que trata de tapar los hoyos narrativos con resoluciones muy sencillas y aburridas.

I have a theory or opinion about the decision that Millie Bobby Brown starred in this film and it is that Netflix needed her to be active in the view of their fans and everything related to the entertainment world waiting for the premiere of the final season of "Stranger Things", this is something understandable on the part of Netflix, since Millie is a great project for the company, but this specific role where she plays a young woman, does not stop showing characteristics of a teenager, she is not perceived as someone adult and I do not blame her at all, but the script does not offer a better interpretation and I say this because her performance in the sequel of "Enola Holmes" her character is showing elements of maturity corresponding to her age; I hope that Netflix and herself as an actress will take the risk to take different jobs, get out of that comfort zone and prove herself as an actress.

Tengo una teoría u opinión sobre la decisión de que Millie Bobby Brown haya protagonizado este film y es que Netflix necesitaba que ella estuviera activa en la vista de sus fans y de todo lo referente al mundo del entretenimiento esperando el estreno de la temporada final de "Stranger Things", esto es algo entendible por parte de Netflix, ya que Millie es un gran proyecto para la empresa, pero este rol en específico en donde interpreta a una joven mujer, no deja de mostrar características de una adolescente, no se percibe como alguien adulto y no la culpo en todo a ella, sino que el guion no ofrece una mejor interpretación y esto lo digo porque su actuación en la secuela de "Enola Holmes" su personaje va mostrando elementos de madurez correspondiente a su edad; ojalá que Netflix y ella misma como actriz se arriesgue a tomar diferentes trabajos, salir de esa zona de confort y probarse como actriz.

I found Damsel to be an average to bad film; it's repetitive what I will say regarding a Netflix film, but it's another example where they don't know how to end a story and I think this film should be taken as a direct example of the above; another element that is also repeated in many Netflix films is the potential to be a better production, but it misses an opportunity to do something better and it is not only for not delving into the horror genre, but it could have done better action scenes to turn Millie Bobby Brown, into an excellent Final Girl and why not, into a new action heroine, instead it is something generic, boring and predictable; another Netflix film that will be immediately forgotten.

Damsel me pareció un film de regular a malo; es repetitivo lo que diré con respecto a un film de Netflix, pero es otro ejemplo en dónde no saben cómo terminar una historia y creo que esta película debería ser tomada como un ejemplo directo de lo antes descrito; otro elemento que también se repite en muchas películas de Netflix es el potencial de ser una mejor producción, pero se pierde oportunidad de hacer algo mejor y no solo es por no profundizar en el género del terror, sino que se pudo hacer mejores escenas de acción convertir a Millie Bobby Brown, en una excelente Final Girl y porque no, en una nueva heroína de acción, en cambio es algo genérico, aburrido y predecible; otra película de Netflix que sera olvidada de manera inmediata.

Hello friends! Today I want to share with you the review about another movie that I had pending to see and I was able to do it last weekend. I'm talking about Poor Things.

Trama - Plot

Bella Baxter es un experimento del doctor Godwin Baxter, ella es una mujer adulta con la mente de un bebé que tiene que ir aprendiendo a manejar su capacidad motriz, descubriendo el mundo que la rodea y dejando fluir su curiosidad cómo lo haría cualquier niño que está empezando a dar sus primeros pasos, con la diferencia de que evoluciona de manera rápida. Hasta que un día se encuentra lista para conocer el mundo que habita y se embarca en una aventura fugándose de la casa en la que la tenían como prisionera con un hombre que apenas conoce. Muy pronto descubrirá que así como es hermosa y llena de placeres, la vida también puede ser cruel y despiadada. 

Bella Baxter is an experiment of Dr. Godwin Baxter, she is an adult woman with the mind of a baby who has to learn to manage her motor skills, discovering the world around her and letting her curiosity flow as any child who is beginning to take his first steps, with the difference that evolves quickly. Until one day she finds herself ready to get to know the world she inhabits and embarks on an adventure by escaping from the house where she was being held prisoner with a man she barely knows. Reseña - Review

Bueno, no sé qué esperaba de esta película, pero no es nada a lo que me encontré. Me sorprendí para bien. Había leído algunas reseñas, pero no había querido ver nada más, a veces me gusta sorprenderme, así que no soy de mirar trailers o videos al respecto. Creo que hice bien en este caso.

Well, I don't know what I expected from this movie, but it's nothing like what I found. I was surprised for the best. I had read some reviews, but hadn't wanted to see anything else, sometimes I like to be surprised, so I'm not one to watch trailers or videos about it. I think I did well in this case.

El apartado visual es bastante cautivador, me encantó el contraste de que todo estuviera en blanco y negro mientras Bella permanecía cautiva y pasará al color cuando se libero, pero no eran colores normales, eran muy vivos, como si quisieran poner la visión de cómo perciben los colores los niños, todo tan lleno de vida. También tiene unas escenas impactantes de ver, la verdad que visualmente es una maravilla, la lente de la cámara parece acompañar la experiencia muy bien.

The visual section is quite captivating, I loved the contrast that everything was in black and white while Bella remained captive and will pass to color when she was released, but they were not normal colors, they were very vivid, as if they wanted to put the vision of how children perceive colors, everything so full of life. It also has some stunning scenes to see, the truth is that visually it is a marvel, the camera lens seems to accompany the experience very well.

La historia también es cautivadora, acompañamos los pasos de este personaje a medida que va evolucionando y aprendiendo las injusticias del mundo mientras también se descubre a sí misma y a su cuerpo. Por momentos sentís mucha empatía por ella y querés protegerla y alejarla de los peligros que enfrenta. Pero después te da cierto orgullo ver cómo sigue su camino derribando prejuicios y forjando su carácter. Bella está libre de prejuicios y es genial que pueda vivir su sexualidad al máximo sin mayores complicaciones. Creo haber leído algunas críticas al respecto, pero de esto se trata la película también, de apuntar sobre los prejuicios y mostrarnos otra cara de la moneda, invita mucho a la reflexión.

The story is also captivating, we follow the steps of this character as she evolves and learns the injustices of the world while also discovering herself and her body. At times you feel a lot of empathy for her and want to protect her and keep her away from the dangers she faces. But then it gives you a certain pride to watch her continue on her path, breaking down prejudices and building her character. Bella is free of prejudice and it's great that she can live her sexuality to the fullest without major complications. I think I've read some criticisms about it, but that's what the film is about too, pointing out prejudices and showing us another side of the coin, it's very thought-provoking.

Siento que nos muestran las etapas de la vida a través de Bella, desde su etapa infantil donde está aprendiendo a moverse, a hablar y a saber qué es lo que le gusta. Su etapa adolescente donde tiene las hormonas descontroladas y su etapa adulta donde se convierte, finalmente, en una mujer adulta tanto por fuera como por dentro, se culturiza y adquiere aspiraciones y sabe qué es lo que quiere hacer con su vida y su futuro.

I feel that we are shown the stages of life through Bella, from her infant stage where she is learning to move, to speak and to know what she likes. Her adolescent stage where her hormones are out of control and her adult stage where she finally becomes an adult woman both inside and out, she becomes cultured and acquires aspirations and knows what she wants to do with her life and her future.

La actuación de Emma Stone me fascino, sin dudas se robó la película, Mark también estuvo bien representando ese personaje que corrompe a Bella y la instruye en cuestiones de relaciones afectivas y carnales, pero la película no hubiera sido nada sin la actuación de Emma, bien merecido tiene ese Oscar. 

Emma Stone's performance fascinated me, she undoubtedly stole the movie, Mark was also good representing that character who corrupts Bella and instructs her in matters of affective and carnal relationships, but the movie would have been nothing without Emma's performance, she deserved her Oscar.

En definitiva, es una buena película para analizarla más a fondo, ya que toca varios temas interesantes. También nos interpela como sociedad y en nuestro actuar según estemos de un lado más favorecido económicamente en la vida o del otro. Hace una muy buena crítica social. No es una película que sea para ver sin prestarle atención, hay que estar concentrado en ella y en lo qué nos quiere transmitir, tiene múltiples mensajes, así que a algunos les puede resonar más unos que otros. Pero sin dudas la recomiendo un montón. 

All in all, it is a good film to analyze in more depth, as it touches on several interesting topics. It also questions us as a society and how we act depending on whether we are on one side of life more economically favored or the other. It makes a very good social critique. It is not a movie to watch without paying attention to it, you have to be focused on it and what it wants to convey, it has multiple messages, so some may resonate more with some than others. But without a doubt I recommend it a lot.

Synopsis: Tired of working as professional thieves, two friends decide to leave this life. However, for this to happen, they are forced to do one last job and decide to hire a new member.

French cinema has a very particular dynamic, and I generally like it a lot. In whatever genre French filmmakers set out to work, they tend to deliver a very interesting product. The narratives they impose on the stories they want to tell are captivating, and even when they make mistakes, what is in the background works as a “plan B”. This is the case with this title, which is sold as an action movie, but is actually a “disguised” drama with some scenes involving physical fights, cars, motorcycles and gunshots. Overall, I was quite surprised (positively speaking) with what I watched, but I was hoping for something more intense.

Alex and Carole are long-time friends. The bond between them is quite strong. At times, it's almost as if they can read each other's thoughts through the way they behave. While Alex is impulsive and sentimental, Carole is more meticulous and focused. In addition to being different in their personal profile, they are also very different in their professional profile. Alex deals very well with firearms and physical fighting, while Carole is stealthier when escaping and more articulate in developing well-elaborated plans. They are thieves, but they want to abandon this life and will stop at nothing to make that happen. Everything will change radically in their lives when this mission is over.

Precisely because they are so good at their respective roles, Marraine does not want to give up their work and forces them to do one last job before they are “released”. The boss has strong arguments to keep them in line with this world of crime, but the friends' desire to abandon this life is much greater. So, they agree to embark on another adventure in search of freedom, and this time, they need to steal a very popular painting. Theoretically the work should be easy, but the complications that arise along the way bring more acidic elements and “deepen” the mission to a level that no one expected (only to be easily resolved shortly afterwards).

The script relies on a mix of drama, action and comedy to keep the narrative working well. In fact, this brings a very particular dynamic to the story, but it doesn't take long for the movie to prioritize its main strength (which is the drama involving the two friends). This is not necessarily a bad thing, because the development of the characters and their respective plots is very interesting, but the action and comedy miss important spaces that could and should help the narrative in other contexts as important as drama. I felt a little imbalance in the script, because at times it seemed like many paths were created, and then they were “hidden”.

In the general context, the movie is not greatly harmed by this, but it delivers a break in expectations that ends up being very frustrating (especially in terms of action, since the movie is sold in this way and that is not exactly what it actually is). Although there are some functional action scenes, the adrenaline pace is slow, and the very comical side of the plot is not so well distributed between the two protagonists (and this is another disproportionality of the movie). Even with completely different personalities (which justifies the dysfunctional weight), there should have been a better distribution among these weights because this ends up saturating the almost obligatory comic presence in one of them.

Focusing on the dramatic aspect to create other elements to be explored within the universe of the thieves, the script is very assertive in using one of them to create a “bridge” with the real world. Many doubts and some new desires begin to emerge on both sides, so Alex and Carole begin to better understand the importance of leaving this life behind and finding their respective reasons for living. Within this narrative, it is interesting to see that the arrival of Sam (the third member they hire to work as an escape pilot, which ends up being a role never presented in a visible way in the plot) adds even more substance to the dramatic side of the story.

The emotional dynamic between them begins with a lot of reticence (mainly between Alex and Sam), and over the course of a few days the “new agent” is trained by the two friends, and very soon she would be prepared to carry out her mission. A new alliance emerges, and the three become just one as they get to know each other even more, and share their fears, ambitions and dreams. Following this narrative line, the drama intensifies and the movie's identity becomes increasingly clear. Personally speaking, I liked the change, but I understand that this may displease the public who bought the original idea imposed by marketing. Give the movie a chance and watch it until the end... It's really worth it.

In a simple (but engaging) way, Voleuses | Wingwomen fluctuates in terms of quality (both narrative and technical) and although Mélanie Laurent directs the project with a very positive balance in this role, she does much better acting as one of the protagonists (this praise also applies to the other two protagonists: Adèle Exarchopoulos and Manon Bresch). The cast also features Isabelle Adjani, but here she delivers a dubious performance, giving life to a somewhat cartoonish character. Packed with a very “peculiar” soundtrack, this French version of Charlie’s Angels will definitely surprise you, because everything starts in one way, and ends in a very different way.

Sinopsis: Cansados de trabajar como ladrones profesionales, dos amigos deciden dejar esta vida. Sin embargo, para que esto suceda, se ven obligados a hacer un último trabajo y deciden contratar a un nuevo integrante.

El cine francés tiene una dinámica muy particular y en general me gusta mucho. Cualquiera que sea el género que los cineastas franceses se propongan, suelen ofrecer un producto muy interesante. Las narrativas que imponen a las historias que quieren contar son cautivadoras, y aun cuando cometen errores, lo que hay de fondo funciona como un “plan B”. Este es el caso de este título, que se vende como una película de acción, pero en realidad es un drama “disfrazado” con algunas escenas que involucran peleas físicas, autos, motos y disparos. En general, me sorprendió bastante (hablando positivamente) lo que vi, pero esperaba algo más intenso.

Alex y Carole son amigos desde hace mucho tiempo. El vínculo entre ellos es bastante fuerte. A veces, es casi como si pudieran leer los pensamientos de los demás a través de su forma de comportarse. Mientras Alex es impulsiva y sentimental, Carole es más meticulosa y concentrada. Además de ser diferentes en su perfil personal, también lo son muy diferente en su perfil profesional. Alex maneja muy bien las armas de fuego y los combates físicos, mientras que Carole es más sigilosa a la hora de escapar y más elocuente a la hora de desarrollar planes bien elaborados. Son ladrones, pero quieren abandonar esta vida y no se detendrán ante nada para lograrlo. Todo cambiará radicalmente en sus vidas cuando esta misión termine.

Precisamente porque son tan buenos en sus respectivos roles, Marraine no quiere renunciar a su trabajo y los obliga a hacer un último trabajo antes de ser “liberados”. El jefe tiene fuertes argumentos para mantenerlos a raya en este mundo criminal, pero el deseo de los amigos de abandonar esta vida es mucho mayor. Entonces, acuerdan embarcarse en otra aventura en busca de libertad, y esta vez, necesitan robar un cuadro muy popular. Teóricamente el trabajo debería ser fácil, pero las complicaciones que surgen en el camino traen elementos más ácidos y “profundizan” la misión a un nivel que nadie esperaba (sólo para resolverse fácilmente poco después).

El guión se basa en una mezcla de drama, acción y comedia para que la narrativa siga funcionando bien. De hecho, esto aporta una dinámica muy particular a la historia, pero la película no tarda en priorizar su principal punto fuerte (que es el drama que involucra a los dos amigos). Esto no es necesariamente algo malo, pues el desarrollo de los personajes y sus respectivas tramas es muy interesante, pero la acción y la comedia pierden espacios importantes que podrían y deben ayudar a la narrativa en otros contextos tan importantes como el drama. Sentí un pequeño desequilibrio en el guión, porque por momentos parecía que se creaban muchos caminos y luego se “escondían”.

En el contexto general, la película no se ve muy perjudicada por esto, pero ofrece una ruptura de expectativas que termina siendo muy frustrante (especialmente en términos de acción, ya que la película se vende de esta manera y eso no es exactamente lo que realmente es). Aunque hay algunas escenas de acción funcionales, el ritmo de adrenalina es lento, y el lado muy cómico de la trama no está tan bien repartido entre los dos protagonistas (y esta es otra desproporcionalidad de la película). Incluso con personalidades completamente diferentes (lo que justifica el peso disfuncional), debería haber habido una mejor distribución entre estos pesos porque esto termina saturando la casi obligada presencia cómica en uno de ellos.

Centrándose en el aspecto dramático para crear otros elementos a explorar dentro del universo de los ladrones, el guión es muy asertivo al utilizar uno de ellos para crear un “puente” con el mundo real. Muchas dudas y algunos nuevos deseos comienzan a surgir por ambos lados, por lo que Alex y Carole comienzan a comprender mejor la importancia de dejar esta vida atrás y encontrar sus respectivas razones para vivir. Dentro de esta narrativa, es interesante comprobar que la llegada de Sam (el tercer miembro que contratan para trabajar como piloto de fuga, lo que acaba siendo un papel nunca presentado de forma visible en la trama) añade aún más sustancia al lado dramatico de la historia.

La dinámica emocional entre ellos comienza con muchas reticencias (principalmente entre Alex y Sam), y a lo largo de unos días la “nueva agente” es entrenada por los dos amigos, y muy pronto estaría preparada para llevar a cabo su tarea. misión. Surge una nueva alianza y los tres se convierten en uno a medida que se conocen aún más y comparten sus miedos, ambiciones y sueños. Siguiendo esta línea narrativa, el drama se intensifica y la identidad de la película se vuelve cada vez más clara. Personalmente me gustó el cambio, pero entiendo que esto pueda disgustar al público que compró la idea original impuesta por el marketing. Dale una oportunidad a la película y mírala hasta el final... Realmente vale la pena.

De forma sencilla (pero atrapante), Ladronas fluctúa en términos de calidad (tanto narrativa como técnica) y aunque Mélanie Laurent dirige el proyecto con un balance muy positivo en este papel, lo hace mucho mejor actuando como una de las protagonistas (este los elogios también se aplican a los otros dos protagonistas: Adèle Exarchopoulos y Manon Bresch). En el reparto también figura Isabelle Adjani, pero aquí ofrece una actuación dudosa, dando vida a un personaje un tanto caricaturesco. Repleta de una banda sonora muy “peculiar”, esta versión francesa de Los ángeles de Charlie definitivamente te sorprenderá, porque todo comienza de una manera y termina de otra muy diferente.

O cinema francês tem uma dinâmica bastante particular, e que geralmente costuma me agradar muito. Em qualquer gênero que os cineastas franceses se propõem a trabalhar, eles tendem a entregar um produto muito interessante. As narrativas que eles impõem as estórias que eles querem contar são cativantes, e até mesmo quando eles erram, o que está em segundo plano funciona como um “plano B”. Esse é o caso deste título, que é vendido como um filme de ação, mas que na verdade é um drama “disfarçado” com algumas cenas de envolvendo lutas corporais, carros, motos e tiros. No geral, eu fiquei bastante surpreso (positivamente falando) com o que eu assisti, mas esperava por algo mais intenso.

Alex e Carole são amigas de longa data. O laço entre elas é bastante forte. Em alguns momentos, é quase como se elas pudessem ler os pensamentos umas das outras através do modo em que elas se comportam. Enquanto Alex é impulsiva e sentimental, Carole é mais meticulosa e centrada. Além de serem diferentes no perfil pessoal, elas também são bem diferentes no perfil profissional. Alex lida muito bem com armas de fogo e luta corporal, enquanto Carole é mais furtiva em fugas e mais articulada para desenvolver planos bem elaborados. Elas são ladras, mas querem abandonar esta vida e não medirão esforços para fazer isso acontecer. Tudo mudará radicalmente na vida delas quando essa missão acabar.

Justamente por serem tão boas em suas respectivas funções, Marraine não quer abrir mão do trabalho delas e obriga que elas façam um último trabalho antes delas serem “libertadas”. A chefe tem argumentos fortes para mantê-las em linha com esse mundo do crime, mas à vontade das amigas em abandonar esta vida é muito maior. Então, elas aceitam embarcar em mais uma aventura em busca da liberdade, e desta vez, elas precisam roubar um quadro muito popular. Teoricamente o trabalho deveria ser fácil, mas as complicações que surgem no caminho trazem elementos mais ácidos e ”aprofundam” à missão em um nível que ninguém esperava (apenas para ser resolvido facilmente logo em seguida).

O roteiro aposta na mistura entre drama, ação e comédia para manter à narrativa funcionando bem. De fato, isso traz uma dinâmica muito particular para a estória, mas não demora muito para o filme priorizar à sua força principal (que é o drama envolvendo as duas amigas). Isso não é necessariamente ruim, porque o desenvolvimento das personagens e suas respectivas tramas é muito interessante, mas a ação e a comédia perdem espaços importantes que poderiam e deveriam ajudar à narrativa em outros contextos tão importantes quanto o drama. Eu senti um pouco de desequilíbrio no roteiro, porque em alguns momentos parece que muitos caminhos foram criados, e em seguida foram “escondidos”.

No contexto geral, o filme não é prejudicado fortemente por isso, mas entrega uma quebra de expectativa que acaba sendo muito frustrante (principalmente em termos de ação, já que o filme é vendido desta maneira e não é exatamente isso o que ele de fato é). Embora haja algumas cenas de ação funcionais, o ritmo de adrenalina é lento, e o lado bem cômico da trama não é tão bem distribuído entre as duas protagonistas (e essa é outra desproporcionalidade do filme). Mesmo com personalidades completamente diferentes (o que justifica o peso disfuncional), deveria ter havido uma distribuição melhor entre esses pesos porque isso acaba saturando à presença cômica quase obrigatória em uma delas.

Focando no aspecto dramático para criar outros elementos a serem explorados dentro do universo das ladras, o roteiro é muito assertivo ao usar uma delas para criar uma “ponte” com o mundo real. Muitas dúvidas e alguns novos desejos começam a surgir de ambos os lados, então, Alex e Carole começam a dimensionar melhor a importância de deixarem essa vida para trás e encontrarem às suas respectivas razões de viver. Dentro dessa narrativa, é interessante ver que à chegada de Sam (a terceira integrante que elas contratam para trabalhar como piloto de fuga, que acaba sendo uma função nunca apresentada de maneira visível na trama) agrega ainda mais substancia para o lado dramático da estória.

Particularmente falando, eu gostei da mudança, mas entendo que isso possa desagradar o público que comprou a ideia original imposta pelo marketing. Dê uma chance ao filme e o assista até o fim... Vale muito à pena.

Embalado por uma trilha sonora muito “peculiar”, essa versão francesa de As Panteras com certeza vai te surpreender, porque tudo começa de um jeito, e termina de outro jeito muito diferente.
