Femme started as a short in 2021 but directors Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping decided to create a full movie to explore and developed more about the life of the characters. Femme is the story about Aphrodite a drag-queen that has a good life, one night he went to a convenience store where a group of men star making fun of him for the fact that was a drag-queen but he didn’t let himself be intimidated and that didn’t like to one of the guys that decide to follow him and ended beating him violently. Few months later after the attack that Jules received he feels that must take revenge for what he passed through so started to follow one of his attacker and found him in a gay spa discovering that he is hiding his real sexual orientation and decided that will expose him. Jules transform his personality to show himself as a heterosexual man and gain the trust of Preston his attacker. Since his plan star working also star a twist in the life of the main characters, feelings are growing in Preston for Jules but he doesn’t know if accept them and Jules is passing through the same making him doubt about his revenge. This movie will expose the life and situation that LGBT community live daily about teasing and attacks but also showing the other side, the life of a man that for society can’t show who he really is. Is not the first time this topic is in a movie but this movie will show through the amazing performances how this reality is still alive in our society.

Femme is a British thriller written and directed by Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon, both directors also work in the short of Femme 2021, short that received an award in the British Independent Film Award for Best British Short Film in 2021. The director Sam H. Freeman also directed the TV Series Industry 2020 with the movie Femme both directors Sam H. Freeman and Ng Choon Ping made their debut the filming industry.

The protagonist of the story is Nathan Stewart Jarrett who portrays Jules a drag artist living in London, Stewart-Jarret is an actor that has worked in many TV series for mention one there is Generation also has work in different movies such as Candyman 2021 and Mope 2019 where he played a porn actor, his previous work has earned him recognition for his versatility as an actor making him perfect for the role of Jules. Another important protagonist is George Mackay he is in the foots of Preston one of the Jule’s attackers, Mackay is known for his roles in movies like How I Lie Now, 1917 and I Came By movies for which he has been highly acclaimed.

The cast also includes Aaron Heffernan, John McCrea and Asha Reid ach bringing their own style to the narrative. Aaron Heffernan has appeared in several TV series and films including Love Hate and The Titan showcasing his versatility as an actor, John McCrea is best known for his work in musical theater but he has work in series like Giri Haji and the movie Cruella. Asha Reid is an up and coming star appearing in the Femme short film and the series Nutritiously Nicola making strides as an actress. All these actors are receiving good critics about their performances in Femme.

Femme is a story about the complexities of identity and revenge, the story take us to through the journey of Jules’s after a homophobic attack that transform his life, after a time he encounters one of his attackers, Preston and Jules unrecognizable without his wig and makeup decides to be part of Preston life to achieve his revenge even though Jules is afraid for been discover is decided to commit his plan and disturb Preston in many ways. The story written by Freeman and Ng expose many themes such as masculinity, femininity, social rules and power also the characters defy conventional norms avoiding simplistic moralism to provoke reflection on human behavior.

The performances of Stewart Jarret as Jule’s and George MacKay as Preston has been well received, the critics for those characters are being positives indicating that both actors just get in the flesh of their characters believing in the role that each one of them represent, in addition the direction of the movie has been applauded for how is show the cruelty, tense atmosphere and the suspense in some scenes. Critics has describe Femme as a movie that is not bringing an unknown topic but that the execution of the direction and performances is worth it and is a movie that deserve to be seen.

Freeman and Ng smoothly managed the transition from their short film to a feature adaptation delivering a compelling narrative and solid performances this makes Femme 2024 stand out as a noteworthy addition to the thriller genre offering a fresh perspective on timeless themes of identity and revenge, for those who enjoy films with intense stories, complex characters and relevant themes Femme may be a good choice.

Femme is a movie that brings a topic many times told, a story about abuses, discrimination and many time contradiction for the rules that people must follow in society. Femme is the story of not only a person that is really happy and know himself as a drag queen is also a story of a man that must be the masculine character in front of friends, family and himself but that unfortunately is only himself when is hide, Jules represent that part of self confident and self love because accept who he is, embrace it and live in the most vivid way meanwhile Preston is the side of the pain, nonconformity and contempt for his hidden life and the search of his real identity. Jule’s and Preston will ride a journey of emotions and events that will make their lives chaotic but more real. Many people will be against this topic but is a reality that many people live each day and is the way how the directors show it that will make audience enjoy this movie also Femme will show violence, sadness, happiness it is wave of emotions that make performances more realistic and will make us keeps on the edge of our seat until we knew the end of this story.

It seems that the year started with some movies that where an enigma of how good would they bee, turns out having a great cast is not enough that is the case of Argylle (2024) that had a very good one and then The Beekeeper (2024) that only had Jason Statham with a couple of supporting actors and did a good job. Land of Bad two main characters are played by Liam Hemsworth as Sgt. Kinney, a JTAC operator who is involve into a very improvise mission; and Russell Rowe Cpt. Grimm aka Reaper, a drone operator who is very strict at work.

I wanted to mention Beekeeper because if you like it then you are going to like "Land of Bad", regarding my rating I personally take humor as a big part on any movie and some of the jokes and "funny" scenes on Beekeeper were just too silly for my taste that's the main reason I give Land of Bad a higher rate, in terms of action scenes they are very close.

To avoid telling the entire movie and spoil it, I'm going to talk about the things I like and some I didn't, only key points that wont tell you the complete outcome.

The movie does start very random with Sgt. Kinney just looking down at two boxes of cereal like not knowing what to pick, Froot Loops or Frosted Flakes then he is given instructions by Master Sgt. Sugar to get ready for his next mission, Kinney got off guard because this includes going into a Halo jump, basically a very high jump for an aircraft that he is not qualified for but Master Sgt. Sugar said fuck it you will be fine. Capt. Grimm a veteran drone operator who has too many ex-wife and kids that he needs extra bonus pay outs so he can cover child support and is taking over the operation Sgt. Kinney will be on, Kinney is a JTAC basically he is in charge of giving orders to drone operators and other aircraft assign to the operation to strike and look forward their field of view, eyes in the sky.

With Kinney to other operators that's Sgt. Bishop and Sgt. Abell, there is an interesting debate between Bishop and Kinney about how tech helps and separate men from warfare acts, in the case of Kinney he things it help to take out the barbaric side of it although Bishop understand its the same thing no matter if you drop a bomb or pull the trigger, you still killing someone.

During the movie they show how a drone operator station would look like, two person operate the drone, one operates the camera the other operates weapons and direction, this tech is not futuristic anymore as we have "similar" software for drones now days and I say similar meaning very basic functions compare to ware drone operators. Kinney has what looks like a cell phone where he gets the image feed of the drone and can tell them where to look and attack based on coordinates given by him, in the past this was a thing of video games only, now days its totally possible as mention.

The initial mission is to do some recon on a terrorist base, Victro Petrov; who is selling weapons to other terrorist but at the same time an asset, JSOC that is MIA; if possible rescue him since its very possible he was capture, last time seen was on this area.

All four operators in position ready to start a strike witness how the mission shifted very quickly, mission was to strike and rescue then turns into destroy and rescue, after another terrorist comes in, Saeed Hashimi and decapitates Victor's wife and then was about to do the same to his son, probably as a way of pressure, Bishop was not going to stand there and watch him do the same to the kid so he revile their position after he fire the first shot and hit Hashimi on the leg.

Here goes WHY and WHAT I didn't like about the movie because it starts here, they kinda abuse of the slow motion effect specially when they were firing, on this image we got Sugar and Bishop and then Kinney getting close rocket hits but for some reason it was on a few scenes and not all of them. For weapon experts the movie might not be too accurate, I'm not a weapon expert but Bishop was probably working a 50 cal, if that thing hits you on the leg its probably to brake it in half, Hashimi got hit by Bishop and it was like oh I'm hit but I can still walk.

The first attempt to take over Petrov base failed and Kinney ends up alone in the middle of the jungle, he still have eyes in the sky and manage to get to the first extraction point but they were tracking him down, then the shopper arrive all kind of enemies pop up and start shooting, this is one of the best parts of the movie where both Cpt. Grimm drone fires everything he has and on top a yet fighter also starts to let rain come down with a full blown attack from the air. They manage to take down most of the hostiles but both the drone and yet fighter run out of ammo; this is hard to believe although its a movie, Kinney had to get out of there and now Cpt. Grimm has a second extraction point but its on the opposite direction and Kinney has to get to the top of a hill.

This is a very entertaining movie, it has great action scenes and the dialog is not bad although what makes it only a basic 7 is that the villains has almost nothing to do with the movie and this is where it lacks, most of the reviews I have read online are divided but they are on the same conclusion that the movie does lack context and plot almost everything focus around the action scenes, this is suppose a survival movie but don't expect it to be a master piece like Lone Survivor (2013), the movie is entertaining, has good suspense scenes where Kinney and the rest are hiding or running away in the jungle, Russell Rowe has a few jokes but nothing that is going to crack you up. Most reviews from different blogs including IMDB and RottenTomatoes state the same, a movie with great action scenes but falls short towards the end, its all about the mission not the drama, is this a movie for theaters I say yes because you want to take advantage of the theater sound system and big screen to increase the dopamine rush.

What would our life be without the blessed money, without that greedy desire to have it all, yours, that of others, the desire to always have more and more...🤔

Some time ago I saw the review about this movie, Killers of the flower moon, so I decided to write it down in my list, to see it, since it looked interesting, especially for the protagonists, with great actors of the cinema as the renowned Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio; a very controversial story, directed by Martin Scorsese, leaves much to think and wish.

This film is based on a crime drama, which narrates the murders of the members of the Osage tribe in Oklahoma, in the 1920s, this tribe was characterized as one of the richest tribes, due to the oil found in their lands.

A little more than three hours, is the duration of this film, in the beginning we see how this tribe took advantage of all this wealth, between luxuries, comforts, cars, drivers, jewelry, among other things, while the whites, saw them, and also sought to take advantage of all this.

Hace un tiempo vi la reseña sobre esta película, Los Asesinos de la Luna, asi que decidí anotarla en mi lista, para verla, puesto que se veía interesante, sobre todo por los protagonistas, contando con grandes actores del cine como el reconocido Robert De Niro y Leonardo DiCaprio; una historia bastante controversial, dirigida por Martin Scorsese, que deja que mucho qué pensar y desear.

Este film se basa en un drama criminal, la cual narra los asesinatos ocurridos de los miembros de la tribu Osage en Oklahoma, en la década de 1920, dicha tribu se caracterizó por ser una de las tribus más ricas, a raíz del petróleo encontrado en sus tierras.

Un poco más de tres horas, es la duración de esta película, en el comienzo vemos como esta tribu aprovecho toda esta riqueza, entre lujos, comodidades, coches, choferes, joyas, entre otras cosas, mientras que los blancos, los veían, y buscaban también sacar provecho de todo esto.

As I said, money and the desire to want more, is what transforms people, and what you think is your faithful friend, can become your worst enemy, wanting what you have; when I read and saw the trailer of this film, I imagined another story, but what we were shown here, was definitely far from what I thought, it was a totally unexpected twist, or maybe not, all the scenes, were like a puzzle, which was gradually assembled, dissolving every doubt, every detail.

I can't deny, that this movie was worth watching, despite its long duration, it had a good trance, between the performances, the scenographies, the plot, quite entertaining and eloquent.

Como dije, el dinero y el deseo que querer más, es lo que transforma a las personas, y el que tú crees que es tu fiel amigo, puede llegarse a convertir en tu peor enemigo, deseando lo que tú tienes; cuando leí y vi el tráiler de este film, me imagine otra historia, pero lo que nos mostraron aquí, definitivamente se encontraba muy alejado de lo que pensé, fue un giro totalmente inesperado, o quizás no, todas las escenas, fueron como un rompecabezas, que se fue armando poco a poco, disolviendo cada duda, cada detalle.

No puedo negar, que valió la pena ver esta película, a pesar de su larga duración, tuvo un buen trance, entre las actuaciones, las escenografías, la trama, bastante entretenida y elocuente.

Literally, this was my face, similar to Leonardo's👆 when I saw the development of this movie, how the background of everything was showing; how people can deceive you, with their good intentions, but the desire for power and money, can more, than anything, that's what we will see in this feature film, drama, romance, action, crime, all linked, put in every scene.

Literal, esta fue mi cara, parecida a la de Leonardo👆 cuando veía el desarrollo de esta película, como se iba mostrando el trasfondo de todo; como las personas pueden engañarte, con sus buenas intenciones, pero el deseo de poder y dinero, puede más, que cualquier cosa, eso es lo que veremos en este largometraje, drama, romance, acción, crimen, todo enlazado, puesto en cada escena.

This seem to be one of those movies you have to prepare for, I love horror movies all kinds until some point, its the amount of grotesque the movie turns out that's usually where I stop. In my personal opinion I think horror movies make you wake up that survival instinct, its always about the demon trying to poses someone, the man who is mentally broken and wants to slaughter everyone as a game, just to put up some examples that when the victim finally overcomes the situation you start thinking "yeah go go go you can" I just love that feeling but when it goes south for me is the grotesque it gets, the amount of blood or flesh. The reason why I open with this argument is because from what I have seen and read about this movie it goes very grotesque and creepy that some critics have mention they had to stop, take five and then continue.

Stopmotion (2023) is an animated horror film where the protagonist, Ella, is going through the grief of her mother’s death and begins to create a film with puppets. However, it takes a dark turn when the puppets come to life and start tormenting her. Ella was struggling the entire time to be as good as her mother who was also a Stop motion artist, Ella has been trying to make it out for herself although was still working on the shadows of her mother and she kept following her instructions but with no results until between all the frustration seen that her hard work is getting her know where a voice pop on her head, it was a girl who suggested a different story, this is when things go south for Ella, at certain point she was so deep into her work that could not tell what was real and what not anymore.

In my case I would not call it to be a must watch on theaters although would be very disturbing watching on VR, very few horror movies I manage to watch on VR, its not about the size of the screen what makes the difference but the isolation from everything else outside that really makes you go deep into the movie so you can imagine why this movie would be hard to watch either on Theaters or VR, at least for me. From the trailer I can tell Ella is not fine at all, the fact that her boyfriend said "she is out of the cave" means she constantly remain at her studio, she even show hurting herself during the trailer for what ever reason aside from anything else that we haven't seen from the trailer so its this isolation feeling that increase the experience but are you really up for it?

Stopmotion (2023) is a creation of the visionary mind of Robert Morgan, a British filmmaker making his debut in feature films. Morgan’s journey in the film world started with short films, but it was his stop-motion masterpiece “Bobby Yeah” that truly ignited his fascination with the sinister and bizarre in stop-motion animation. Bobby Yeah, a 23-minute short horror film, was highly praised by audiences. From an early age, Morgan was drawn to the darker side of storytelling, influenced by early encounters with stop-motion horror in films like Fiend Without a Face from the 1950s. Morgan didn’t see stop-motion as mere children’s entertainment; instead, he viewed it as a medium capable of evoking deep and unsettling emotions, allowing him to express his creativity and madness while reflecting the horror genre he loves.

Among Morgan’s short films are The Cat with Hands (2001), an animated fantasy, and The Separation (2003), a horror film. It seems that horror is indeed this writer-director’s favorite genre. Both shorts received international acclaim for their story and visual effects, laying the groundwork for Morgan’s exploration of the darker aspects of stop-motion animation and setting the stage for his feature film debut with Stopmotion (2023).

The cast of Stopmotion (2024) is led by Aisling Franciosi, known for her compelling performances in suspense films such as The Nightingale, The Last Voyage of the Demeter, and alongside Sandra Bullock in The Unforgivable. Franciosi’s portrayal of Ella Blake, a stop-motion animator struggling with her sanity, is simply convincing. Tom York, known for his roles in acclaimed British TV series like Poldark and Olympus, plays Tom, Ella’s supportive yet troubled boyfriend. Stella Gonet, a seasoned actress who appeared in the film Spencer, brings gravitas to the role of Suzanne, Ella’s mentor and confidante. Also featured is Caoilinn Springall, who made her debut in George Clooney’s Netflix film The Midnight Sky, portraying a mysterious girl who appears in Ella’s dreams. James Swanton, an experienced theater and horror film actor, embodies the enigmatic Ash Man with chilling precision. Jaz Hutchins, Joshua J Parker, and Bridigitta Roy round out the cast, and while their previous works may not be widely known, their performances in Stopmotion (2024) could catapult them to fame.

Stopmotion (2024) explores the relationship between creativity and madness. Ella’s descent into madness reflects Morgan’s fascination with the darker aspects of stop motion animation, as Ella’s creations take on a life of their own, the line between reality and fantasy blurs, leading to a battle for control of her mind. Many have call it a horror masterpiece that recently premiered at select festivals in the United States and the United Kingdom last year, generating a lot of buzz among critics. It was praise as an innovative achievement, captivating audiences with its suspense, unsettling story, and psychological depth. In fact if we go through all the current reviews it has from critics at sites like Rottentomatoes currently its rate is 100% so I wonder how this is going to reflect once the audience get their hands on this movie.

Ordinary Angels is a drama movie based on the real life story of a single father with two daughters Michelle and Ashley, Lily the lovely way that he calls Michelle she is his five year old daughter who was diagnosed with a rare disease one day a woman show up to the man house motivated to help the family by trying to raise money to cover the medical expenses, the trailer shows how this woman work hard and inspired the united community with faith and hope making miracles happen. This film stars are Alan Ritchson and Hilary Swank two well known actors from productions like Reacher and Million Dollar Baby.

La originalidad en el mundo del cine es un factor que en mi opinión existe muy poco y más cuando son films que buscan tener un impacto rápido o que solo necesitan generar una buena cantidad de dinero que primeramente cubra gastos de producción y segundo, pero igual o más importante, las ganancias; esta práctica se puede nombrar numerosos ejemplos, en dónde no importa el género del film o si son grandes o pequeñas producciones, al final lo importante es que se logre alcanzar las una o las dos características y en muchos casos eso sucede; porque al final la originalidad no importa, ya que cada vez más el público acepta una fórmula o un patrón, sin importar mucho la calidad de la producción.

Esta película es dirigida por David Ayer, un director que en mi opinión no supera la mala experiencia de haber dirigido "Suicide Squad" y por eso ha mantenido un perfil bajo en sus últimos trabajos; en esta nueva oportunidad con un muy corto presupuesto, Ayer repite una fórmula que pude observar en uno de sus anteriores trabajos en dónde en mi opinión trata de recrear lo hecho en films de acción de finales de los 80' y de los 90'; eso hace que el film sea directo, rápido, con escenas en dónde el protagonista es completamente invencible y posiblemente sea algo aburrido, pero creo que funcionó muy bien para cierto público; personalmente creo que es aburrido porque las escenas son repetitivas, cortas, pero parecidas por las escenografías, las mismas tomas y lo poco impactante; las coreografías de los combates en su mayoría son simples, creo que eso es la manera de definir el trabajo de Ayer en la dirección de este film.

La historia es para nada original, seguramente que de manera inmediata se relaciona con la historia de "John Wick", pero es que existen y existirán más producciones en dónde el protagonista sea alguien tranquilo que esconde un pasado peligroso, que es alguien sumamente inteligente, entrenado y letal, el cual deberá recurrir a todo lo que sabe cuándo su vida de paz es interrumpida; está sinopsis no es solamente de la película protagonizada por Keanu Reeves, sino por muchas otras más. El guion fue escrito por Kurt Wimmer, al saber eso, no tenía esperanza con esta película porque él escribió el guion de "Expend4bles" la cual considero la peor película del 2023, pero en esta oportunidad debo decir que la historia que creó para este film es regular, transita en una delgada línea en considerar como una mal historia y otra aceptable, tiene sus pro y contras, siendo lo favorable la manera de escribir tanto a su protagonista como a los principales villanos y con respecto a lo malo, está en que fácilmente está película la puedo considerar como una sátira del género al ser tan evidentemente mala en ciertas situaciones, es risible y eso deja en evidencia que no se tomaron en serio a esta producción.

The story is not original at all, surely it is immediately related to the story of "John Wick", but there are and there will be more productions where the protagonist is someone quiet who hides a dangerous past, who is someone highly intelligent, trained and lethal, which must resort to everything he knows when his life of peace is interrupted; this synopsis is not only of the film starring Keanu Reeves, but for many others. The script was written by Kurt Wimmer, knowing that, I had no hope with this movie because he wrote the script of "Expend4bles" which I consider the worst movie of 2023, but in this opportunity I must say that the story he created for this film is regular, it transits in a thin line in considering as a bad story and an acceptable one, It has its pros and cons, being the favorable the way of writing both its protagonist and the main villains and with respect to the bad, is that this film can easily be considered as a satire of the genre to be so obviously bad in certain situations, it is laughable and that leaves evidence that they did not take this production seriously.

Antes de enfocarme en sus protagonistas, esta película presenta un aspecto algo extraño y es que personajes secundarios llevan el peso de mantener largos diálogos, tienen más tiempo en escena que los personajes principales y eso no es favorable porque sus actuaciones no son las mejores, en especial la de Emmy Raver-Lampman como "Verona", para nada es convincente su trabajo como agente del FBI, con problemas de alcohol, mala actitud y la obligada necesidad de resolver el caso; es el peor personaje y actuación que he visto en este año y como dije anteriormente, es una gran equivocación que tenga más diálogos que el personaje interpretado por Josh Hutcherson, el cual es el villano principal y quién hace un buen trabajo, es convincente como el "Niño Rico" que se cree intocable y que está por encima de todos; no es exagerado en su actuación y si divertido, de los puntos positivos del film junto al trabajo de Jason Statham como "Adam Clay"; su personaje claramente tiene una deficiente estabilidad mental y eso es muy importante en la actuación de Statham; "Clay" es un soldado, alguien que necesita un motivo y al obtenerlo, nadie lo detendrá, eso me pareció aceptable al igual que se mantenga el misterio de quién es aunque existe directas revelaciones sobre su pasado, pero no sé profundiza y eso me pareció bien; lástima que no se aprovecha en realizar mejores escenas de acción y hacer una mejor película.

Before I focus on the main characters, this movie has a strange aspect and that is that secondary characters carry the burden of maintaining long dialogues, they have more time on stage than the main characters and that is not favorable because their performances are not the best, especially that of Emmy Raver-Lampman as "Verona", her work as an FBI agent is not convincing at all, with alcohol problems, bad attitude and the obligatory need to solve the case; he is the worst character and performance I have seen this year and as I said before, it is a big mistake that he has more dialogue than the character played by Josh Hutcherson, who is the main villain and who does a good job, he is convincing as the "Rich Kid" who thinks he is untouchable and above everyone else; He is not over the top in his performance and is funny, one of the positive points of the film along with the work of Jason Statham**_ as "Adam Clay"; his character is clearly mentally unstable and that is very important in Statham's performance; "Clay" is a soldier, someone who needs a motive and when he gets it, no one will stop him, I found that acceptable as well as keeping the mystery of who he is although there are direct revelations about his past, but it does not go deep and that was fine; too bad it is not used to make better action scenes and make a better movie.

The Beekeeper tuvo un costo de 40 millones de dólares y hasta el momento ha recaudado más de 130 millones de $ en taquilla, un completo éxito para un film que no ofrece nada nuevo y que tiene muchas falencias; personalmente la encuentro un film regular, no es no de cerca lo que muchos críticos comentan de ser un buen film de acción, ya que es limitado, algunas escenas son tontas y dañan a su personaje principal; creo que se puede hacer un mejor trabajo porque existe un buen potencial para convertirse en una franquicia, por lo menos hacer una "necesaria" secuela que desarrolle la historia de su protagonista, aumento los retos a afrentar y que sea mejor; deben aprovechar la suerte que obtuvieron, el dinero que han recaudado para evolucionar, mejorar para mantener o aumentar ese inesperado éxito en la taquilla; como dije, esta historia tiene potencial y espero que cuenten con las personas adecuadas para desarrollarla.

The Beekeeper cost $40 million and so far has grossed over $130 million at the box office, a complete success for a film that offers nothing new and has many shortcomings; personally I find it a regular film, it is not nearly what many critics comment of being a good action film, as it is limited, some scenes are silly and hurt its main character; I think a better job can be done because there is a good potential to become a franchise, at least make a "necessary" sequel that develops the story of its main character, increase the challenges to face and make it better; they should take advantage of the luck they got, the money they have raised to evolve, improve to maintain or increase that unexpected success at the box office; as I said, this story has potential and I hope they have the right people to develop it.

Constellation is a science fiction series that also keep tricking your brain, it promises viewers a fascinating journey through the cosmos and the human mind, created by the great genius that is Peter Harness the series offers a twisted blend of suspense, mystery and existential inquiry. Harness the visionary creator and writer of Constellation explore his ambitious project in April 2022 when Apple TV+ green light the series for production.

Harness has solidified his name as an expert storyteller in the television world some of his works that can be mention are the adaptation of H.G. Well’s The War of the Worlds 2019 and the historical drama Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell 2015 the last of which was exceptionally well received by audiences for that reason Harness’s style immerse Constellation in an air of intrigue and doubts inviting viewers to think about the mysteries of space and the complexities of the human consciousness and while the series is developing the plot the viewers are taken into a web of conspiracy, deception and self discovery guided by Harness’s vision and his skilled narrative hand.

The director of the Constellation is Michelle MacLaren she was the executive producer of the TV series Breaking Bad and director of some episodes of the successful series Game of Thrones also she work in the famous TV series The X-Files and The Walking Dead, MacClaren is a woman with a great ability to create suspense and tension during in the trailer viewers can notice the intention of the director to play with both the characters minds and the audience’s, MacLaren’s work in Constellation alongside directors Oliver Hirschbiegel and Joseph Cedar offers an entertainment both visual and emotional guiding viewers through the deep in the space and the psyche.

The trailer of Constellation show us the main character Jo an astronaut who has returned to earth from a mission in space after a terrible accident but it seems that she doesn’t returned entirely well because she begins to have visions and she feels that is follow by a mysterious figure all these events will be leading the audience to think if Jo has a mental issue or if it is a conspiracy against her but no matter what Jo is going to face many dangers events that will force her to search for answer in order to continue with her life and her family, sounds very intriguing and we will have to wait for the first eight episodes to develop until we know if there is a second season or not.

The cast of Constellation features a variety of talents: Noomi Rapace plays the lead of astronaut Jo. Rapace do to her experience in both movies and television she can lead the character to an aspect of vulnerability. Her performance promises to be one of the series most outstanding and her face is familiar from the movie Prometheus which also deals with science fiction and moon travel. Jonathan Banks known for his performance of Mike Ehrmantraut in the TV Series Breaking Bad is a talented and experienced actor who will bring intensity to the character Henry. James D’Arcy as Magnus has a lot of charisma and captivates the audience as he has done in his previous works such as Agent Carter an adventure and crime story and in Oppenheimer a biography about the American scientist’s role in the development of the atomic bomb. Julian Looman as Frederic Duverger known for his role in the detective series The Mallorca Files will show us how versatile he is in interpreting characters as we have seen him in comedy, drama and action. Lenn Kudrjawizki a recognized actor in the German film industry he brings the character Sergei to life. William Catlett take the role of Paul Lancaster his performance marked by authenticity and emotional performance leading the viewers into the character’s journey he is known for his roles in A Thousand and One and The Devil You Know a mystery themotional depth drawing viewers into the character’s journeriller. Barbara Sukowa recognized for her roles in the biopic of philosopher Hannah Arendt and Atomic Blonde she plays Irena Lysenko.

The series Constellation has a stellar cast, visionary creators and an intriguing plot, it seeks to reach its peak among critics and viewers alike it expect to be captivated, challenged and ultimately transformed by the story which in each episode will have new revelations and unexpected twists, has been announced a total of 8 episodes for the first season and by watching the trailer it feels like Constellation could be one of those series you end up watching in a day since it’s full of suspense, plays with your mind and makes you want to uncover the truth.

There is really not much else to say that Constellation (2024) will be a series you probably want to burn on a single day Netflix style but luckily to keep your TV series addiction under control it will be on AppleTv+, I personally expect this to be a good series as most TV series on AppleTv+. Constellation has a good cast, some of them known faces to the average viewer from other productions and it seems that the director Michelle MacLaren with huge experience on TV Series and under the hand of creative storyteller Peter Harness make a combination for a good project. The series is also refreshing as we don't often get stories from astronauts coming back to Earth and start action all disillusion, not as a hero instead with all her illnesses, traumas, disappointments and problems to continue with a normal life.

Yesterday, at the invitation of some friends, I went to the cinema to watch Madame Web. In the group, I was one of the only ones who didn't care what I watched, because I already knew the movie would be bad and I personally don't see superhero movies as something I enjoy watching anymore. Therefore, I decided in the name of friendship and I confess that if I had known that the movie would be extremely bad, I would have put our friendship at risk, haha!

Jokes aside, I decided to write this text to complement the review I already wrote (and published) here at Hive. So, the idea is to be able to comment better on some aspects of the movie (without mentioning any spoilers) that I haven't commented on before (or if I have commented, now I will do so in a little more depth). Starting with the fact that the plot is not about superheroes, but rather a private drama experienced by Cassandra Webb as any character. Without a doubt, this is the biggest mistake in this script, which portrays its protagonist without recognized importance.

None of the mythological aspects related to the original plot are portrayed in this adaptation, and the main character's very identity is destroyed by poor creative decisions that make the development of the movie a very painful experience to follow. Starring Dakota Johnson, the movie tries to create a more familiar bond between the characters (making Cassandra an “accidental mother”), but everything is flawed because there is nothing to justify their relationship (much less the motivation of the enemy, who is another very negative point of this project).

Production is very expensive, but this is not reflected in the materialization of the project itself, which seems to have invested everything in its marketing pieces to try to promote a project that was already doomed to failure. The marketing work is one of the most misleading of all time, mainly because it sells the public a plot that doesn't exist (with the focus on the action scenes involving the quartet, which are quite disappointing), and which still tries to flirt with the idea of a universe that seeks support in parallel plots. Literally, Sony went to great lengths to contain the damage.

The dialogues are embarrassing, especially the more expository ones. Some scenes are extremely long without the slightest need (mainly because they don't add anything important to the plot) and are also out of context at times. Also horrible is the work done by S.J. Clarkson, who sometimes even seems to have forgotten how to do a decent camera frame. Countless times the angles chosen border on the ridiculous and a great example of this are the zooms that are applied in some scenes to create an atmosphere of tension.

Finally, I also need to talk about how poor the special effects are. In addition to the precarious quality, the lack of creativity when applying them in the most frantic events (which are the action scenes), there are also major mistakes related to the editing of scenes, which literally tear up the movie, turning everything into a great visual mess full of of embarrassing moments. Anyway, now I think I managed to say everything about this terrible movie.

¿Por qué es tan mala Madame Web? | Hablando un poco más de la película.

Ayer, por invitación de unos amigos, fui al cine a ver Madame Web. En el grupo, yo era uno de los únicos a quienes no les importaba lo que veía, porque ya sabía que la película sería mala y personalmente ya no veo las películas de superhéroes como algo que disfrute ver. Por eso lo decidí en nombre de la amistad y confieso que si hubiera sabido que la película sería extremadamente mala, habría puesto en riesgo nuestra amistad, ¡jaja!

Bromas aparte, decidí escribir este texto para complementar la reseña que ya escribí (y publiqué) aquí en Hive. Entonces, la idea es poder comentar mejor algunos aspectos de la película (sin mencionar spoilers) que no he comentado antes (o si lo he comentado, ahora lo haré con un poco más de profundidad). Empezando por el hecho de que la trama no trata de superhéroes, sino de un drama privado vivido por Cassandra Webb como cualquier personaje. Sin duda, este es el mayor error de este guión, que retrata a su protagonista sin reconocida importancia.

Ninguno de los aspectos mitológicos relacionados con la trama original se retrata en esta adaptación, y la identidad misma del personaje principal queda destruida por malas decisiones creativas que hacen que el desarrollo de la película sea una experiencia muy dolorosa de seguir. Protagonizada por Dakota Johnson, la película intenta crear un vínculo más familiar entre los personajes (convirtiendo a Cassandra en una “madre accidental”), pero todo falla porque no hay nada que justifique su relación (mucho menos la motivación del enemigo, que es otro punto muy negativo de este proyecto).

La producción es muy costosa, pero esto no se refleja en la materialización del proyecto en sí, que parece haber invertido todo en sus piezas de marketing para intentar impulsar un proyecto que ya estaba condenado al fracaso. El trabajo de marketing es uno de los más engañosos de todos los tiempos, principalmente porque vende al público una trama que no existe (centrándose en las escenas de acción del cuarteto, que son bastante decepcionantes), y que todavía intenta coquetear con la idea de un universo que busca apoyo en tramas paralelas. Los diálogos son embarazosos, especialmente los más expositivos. Algunas escenas son extremadamente largas sin la menor necesidad (principalmente porque no aportan nada importante a la trama) y además, en ocasiones, están fuera de contexto. También es horrible el trabajo realizado por S.J. Clarkson, que a veces incluso parece haber olvidado cómo hacer un encuadre de cámara decente. Infinidad de veces los ángulos elegidos rozan lo ridículo y un gran ejemplo de ello son los zooms que se aplican en algunas escenas para crear una atmósfera de tensión.

Por último, también necesito hablar de lo pobres que son los efectos especiales. Además de la precaria calidad, la falta de creatividad a la hora de aplicarlas en los acontecimientos más frenéticos (que son las escenas de acción), también hay grandes errores relacionados con el montaje de escenas, que literalmente destrozan la película, convirtiendo todo en un Gran desastre visual lleno de momentos embarazosos. De todos modos, ahora creo que logré decir todo sobre esta terrible película.

Por que Madame Teia é tão ruim? | Falando um pouco mais sobre o filme.

Ontem, a convite de alguns amigos, eu fui ao cinema para assistir Madame Teia. No grupo, eu era um dos únicos que não me importava com o que eu assistiria, porque eu já sabia que o filme seria ruim e eu particularmente não enxergo mais filmes de super-heróis como algo que eu sinto prazer em assistir. Sendo assim, eu decidir em nome da amizade e confesso que se eu soubesse que o filme seria extremamente ruim, eu teria colocado à nossa amizade em risco, haha!

Brincadeiras à parte, eu decidi escrever este texto complementar a crítica que eu já escrevi (e publiquei) aqui na Hive. Então, a ideia é poder comentar melhor sobre alguns aspectos do filme (sem mencionar nenhum spoiler) que eu ainda não comentei antes (ou se comentei, agora o farei de maneira um pouco mais aprofundada). Começando pelo fato de que a trama não é sobre super-heróis, mas sim, um drama particular vivido por Cassandra Webb como um personagem qualquer. Sem dúvidas, este é o maior erro deste roteiro, que retrata sua protagonista sem à reconhecida importância.

Nenhum dos aspectos mitológicos relacionados a trama original são retratados nesta adaptação, e a própria identidade da personagem principal é destruída por péssimas decisões criativas que tornam o desenvolvimento do filme em uma experiência muito dolorosa de ser acompanhada. Protagonizado por Dakota Johnson, o filme tenta criar um laço mais familiar entre as personagens (fazendo de Cassandra uma “mãe por acidente”), mas tudo é falho porque não há nada que justifique a relação delas (muito menos à motivação do inimigo, que é outro ponto muito negativo deste projeto).

A produção é caríssima, mas isso não se reflete na materialização do projeto em si, que parece ter investido tudo em suas peças de marketing para tentar promover um projeto que já estava fadado ao fracasso. O trabalho de marketing é um dos mais enganosos de todos os tempos, principalmente por vender ao público uma trama que não existe (com o foco nas cenas de ação envolvendo o quarteto, que são bem decepcionantes), e que ainda tenta flertar com a ideia de um universo que busca suporte em tramas paralelas. Literalmente, a Sony não mediu esforços para conter os danos.

Os diálogos são vexatórios, especialmente os mais expositivos. Algumas cenas são extremamente alongadas sem que haja a menor necessidade (pincipalmente porque não acrescentam nada de importante para à trama) e também, estão fora de contexto em alguns momentos. Horrível também é o trabalho feito por S.J. Clarkson, que às vezes, até parece que esqueceu como se faz um enquadramento de câmera decente. Por incontáveis vezes os ângulos escolhidos beiram ao ridículo e um ótimo exemplo disso são os zooms que são aplicados em algumas cenas para criar um clima de tensão.

Por fim, eu preciso falar também sobre o quão pobre são os efeitos especiais. Além da qualidade precária, da falta de criatividade ao aplicá-los nos acontecimentos mais frenéticos (que são as cenas de ação), existem também grandes equívocos relacionados as edições de cenas, que literalmente picotam o filme, tornando tudo em uma grande confusão visual repleta de momentos constrangedores. Enfim, agora eu penso que consegui falar tudo sobre este péssimo filme.

Masters of The Air is a series that just keeps delivering, yesterday I made my post on episode two since I'm a little behind on my recaps although today Friday I'm about to watch episode five and from there keep up with the other four episodes every Friday, probably posting number four and five over the weekend depending on my schedule. Until I have been asking for a BIG AIR BATTLE and that exactly what episode three is, everything happens in the air but then we get in to my second ask for this series, WHEN AIR FIGHTER 1v1, for now all we see from Allies in this case US Air Force is bomber but I would love to see them bring in their fighter planes for a good air battle defending the bombers from German fighters, so far this is the best episode I have seen on the series, there is a lot of action, lots of casualties as you can see on the picture that I choose for the cover of this post, the episode is loaded, toward the end the story shift gears getting more into the drama, the aftermath after such big fight, not everyone will make it home alive and others drop on their way back, side stories from pilots and their crew will start to develop, after bombing the German factories they were deep into Enemy Territory and had to land in Africa, way way far from their base.

Col. Hardling is in charge, just in time to be part of the biggest "air armada ever assembled in history" the target is to attack the German Ball Bearing factories crippling their tanks and other units productions, this is a very precise attack that needs to happen in a certain way and time, timing is the most important part, they know German Fighters burn fuel way faster and carry less fuel than bombers so they cant stay in the air longer enough to put them down if their numbers are massive and capable of defending, for the pilots there is a big distance challenge after hitting the target they cant go back so they will have to make it all the way to Africa, Argelia.

Every pilot at the base knows this is going to be a big fight that none of them want to miss, there is a delay because of fog and other task forces are delay, the waiting is killing them while others just chill waiting for order, there are also a couple of Majors and other high rank officers in the force flying, Col. Hardling thinks he needs the best man up in the air to make this a win.

Not every crew member knows the importance of sticking to the plan, some are desperate to get up in the air but others like Navigator Lt. Crosby, who narrates the most part of the story; understands the importance of sticking together, if this doesn't happen then their plan is shit, unfortunately seems that higher ranks also got desperate and gave the order for all bombers be in the air, Hardling knows this is a terrible idea but orders are orders, in the army you follow orders.

Following the orders means sending the boys straight to HELL!! All pilots and crew get ready, seen all the bombers flying together leaving their trail behind in the air is beautiful, must be a great experience watching so many bombers in the air ready to fight. After been some time in air and getting into Flak territory the obvious is out of the windows, where are the other task forces?

Frank, Buck, Bucky and Curt know they are on themself and some how will have to survive, this is where the big air battle I mention starts, I don't want to describe it much but damn that's a lot of dopamine, they manage to hit the target but not with the amount of impact they wanted to, also they loose a lot of men during this mission, this will probably be the mission where they had the most looses.

After hitting their target they still have a very very long distances to cover, going through the Italian Alps, then through the Mediterranean Sea so they could make it to Africa. Bombers were heavily damage, low on fuel, missing crew members, others badly hurt but they had to survive some how. Buck had to start dumping every extra weight that was not necessary for the plain to stay in the air, they dump from guns, dome, ammo, on top the bomber was hurt badly to the point that part of the crew though they had to jump ship but the Cap. was Major Cleven and the order was to stay put and get your shit together.

Frank,Buck and Bucky finally land in Africa but not all bombers had the same luck, around only 9 out of 23 landed, others had to jump of their plain, those who survive are all scattered around in Europe that is heavily invaded by German Army, this crew members are on their own and have to find their we back home but in the meantime survive, no food, no friends, most don't even talk other languages, they are in Europe, French, Italian, German, everything except English.

This was the most exciting episode so far, I don't expect all episodes to be like this but there still seven more so at least one or two other big air battles on the way to the end, drama kicks in now that crew members need to find their way back home, Buck and Bucky remain together but I'm sure they will also go down at some point, hope they survive but every single mission had very high changes that men wont come back, specially when dumb orders are giving like sending all those bombers alone, such a small number into deep enemy territory, episode a solid 8.5/10.

Avatar The Last Airbender was first an animated series but now is a live action series that all devoted fans have been waiting hoping it makes justice to the original. Directed by Albert Kim known for his notable contributions to television this live action adaptation brings renewed energy to Aang’s saga and his friends. The series is set to release on February 22nd on Netflix this first season consists of eight episodes, Albert Kim has made his mark with his work on shows like Leverage, Nikita and Sleepy Hollow, before transitioning into television he served as Senior News Director at ESPN where he created the entertainment news program ESPN Hollywood.

With a good eye for detail Kim’s vision for Avatar The Last Airbender is to engage both lifelong fans and those who soon will become after the season starts. Under Kim’s supervision the production team meticulously recreated the fantastic world of Avatar bringing to life the intricate cultures and landscapes inspired by Asian and Native American influences, the series as filmed in Vancouver the attention to detail something fans will their eye on as that.

Avatar The Last Airbender is set in a world divided in four nations named the fire nation, air nation, water nation and earth nation in every nation people can control their elements but they are going to face a war because the fire nation want to conquer them all. Looking into the ensemble bringing the characters of Avatar The Last Airbender to life. This saga seems to be well received by the audience and theirs many loyal fans who are eager to see a new version of this story live action and obviously at the same time all the fans will be breaking down every little detail of the series expecting that it is better than the movie and for what is shown in the trailer it seems that this will be the case.

Synopsis: While working as a paramedic in New York City, Cassandra Webb begins to demonstrate signs of clairvoyance. Needing to deal with some problems from her past, she ends up meeting three young girls. Danger knocks on their door when an enemy starts hunting them.

In yet another attempt to establish the creation of a new shared universe (in this case, with Spider-Man stories), Sony bet on the adaptation of a comic book created by the duo Denny O'Neil and John Romita Jr., in 1980, where the main character would be an elderly, blind lady who stays alive in a static way through a connection with a web where she can use her mutant powers (read minds and make astral projections). The result couldn't have been more disastrous (I already imagined something bad, but not that horrible), because absolutely everything about it is pretty bad.

I still can't believe how a script written by six hands, and which had relatively rich base material, could have resulted in something so pathetic. The negative points are countless, and it's even difficult to organize its ideas to comment on as much as possible without saying any spoilers, but here we go. The movie begins with its opening scene full of amateur executions (showing from the beginning that the work of director S.J. Clarkson would compromise the entire project), and without making the slightest effort to change this, everything continues throughout the entire projection.

As the script has no interest in creating situations compatible with what it wants to tell its audience, the plot delves into an infinity of generic elements to try to create narratives that mix drama with comedy (and fails to deliver either one or the other). Using Cassandra's plot to create the bridges that connect all the characters, the script bets on a “maternal” atmosphere to unite all the “heroines” while trying to “develop” them. Nothing works, and what you see on the screen is a succession of many errors (and with very painful dialogues).

Despite having a cast of minimally competent names (and here it is worth mentioning the following names: Dakota Johnson, Sydney Sweeney and Adam Scott), there was nothing they could do to try to bring some credibility to this project. The script is really bad, and despite the correct performances of the vast majority of the cast, what we see in the scenes is a set of poorly developed situations (as well as the plots of their characters), generating a really embarrassing result, which honestly, borders on to the amateurism of beginners. Unbelievable!

Don't expect any solid connection to the comic book universe, and here, I dare say this is a movie about anything but superheroes. The mischaracterization is complete, making this “adaptation” a mistake from its first minutes. Absolutely everything works against the movie, nullifying any strength it could have had throughout its development (which is extremely problematic). Nothing about the mythology is explained (there's not even any mention of it), and Cassandra's origin story is boiled down to practically nothing (something very weak even for an origin story).

Most of the time, the protagonist appears acting as a paramedic and discovering her powers. Everything gets worse when the dynamic between them and the trio of girls begins, because the script gets lost in an unbelievable way. Some situations are so disconnected from reality that it is truly inconceivable to believe that this production was approved by Sony's bosses to be shown in theaters. In summary, the movie can be summarized as a “nanny” from a big city who needs to defend a group of boring and spoiled girls from a villain with a credible motivation.

Speaking of villains, Ezekiel Sims can already be considered one of the worst. Here, he is portrayed here as a figure who wears ridiculous clothes and chases girls without there being a more acceptable explanation (other than self-defense). I wasn't expecting a script with Oscar-worthy narrative insertions, but any decent superhero movie has a motivational aspect that triggers the villains' revenge with more credibility than what can be seen throughout this movie. Tahar Rahim even tried to bring some dignity to this character, but his attempts were null and void.

Madame Web is a perfect example of how not to make a movie adaptation. Not even when talking about action scenes and special effects does the movie manage to deliver some quality entertainment, because what is seen is really a show of mediocrity in terms of creativity (something that also applies to scene editing) and a work very bad special effects considering the company behind this project. Anyway, everything is chaos and of epic proportions, because this movie will always be remembered as one of the worst superhero movies ever made.

En un intento más de establecer la creación de un nuevo universo compartido (en este caso, con historias de Spider-Man), Sony apostó por la adaptación de un cómic creado por el dúo Denny O'Neil y John Romita Jr., en 1980, donde la protagonista sería una anciana ciega que se mantiene viva de forma estática a través de una conexión con una red donde puede usar sus poderes mutantes (leer mentes y realizar proyecciones astrales). El resultado no pudo ser más desastroso (Ya me imaginaba algo malo, pero no tan horrible), porque absolutamente todo en él es bastante malo.

Todavía no puedo creer cómo un guión escrito a seis manos, y que contaba con un material base relativamente rico, pudo haber resultado en algo tan patético. Los puntos negativos son innumerables, e incluso cuesta organizar tus ideas para comentar lo máximo posible sin decir spoilers, pero allá vamos. La película comienza con su escena inicial llena de ejecuciones amateurs (mostrando desde el principio que el trabajo del director S.J. En resumen, la película se puede resumir como una “niñera” de una gran ciudad que necesita defender a un grupo de chicas aburridas y mimadas de un villano con una motivación creíble.

Hablando de villanos, Ezekiel Sims ya puede considerarse uno de los peores. Aquí, se lo retrata como una figura que viste ropa ridícula y persigue chicas sin que haya una explicación más aceptable (aparte de la defensa propia). No esperaba un guión con inserciones narrativas dignas de un Oscar, pero cualquier película de superhéroes decente tiene un aspecto motivacional que desencadena la venganza de los villanos con más credibilidad de lo que se puede ver a lo largo de esta película. Tahar Rahim incluso intentó darle algo de dignidad a este personaje, pero sus intentos fueron nulos.

Madame Web es un ejemplo perfecto de cómo no hacer una adaptación cinematográfica. Ni siquiera cuando se habla de escenas de acción y efectos especiales la película logra entregar algo de entretenimiento de calidad, pues lo que se ve es realmente una muestra de mediocridad en cuanto a creatividad (algo que también se aplica al montaje de escenas) y un trabajo de efectos especiales muy malo considerando la empresa detrás de este proyecto. En fin, todo es un caos y de proporciones épicas, porque esta película siempre será recordada como una de las peores películas de superhéroes jamás realizadas.
