Listen. I have to tell you a secret.

The ninth season of Rick and Morty has concluded, and I've noticed that something feels off compared to past seasons. It's like watching someone walk in circles aimlessly just to pass the time. It's an episodic series, that I know very well, but without a future goal, anything that happens to Rick or Morty may or may not have significance for upcoming episodes.

Seeing that the most consistent thing this season is that the Smith family now has a pool in their backyard, I've started to wonder if the series has reached its decadent decline.

The Adult Swim animated series created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland is currently a phenomenon for handling science fiction in its own way: it still holds some brilliance for its humor and for tackling nihilism in an infinite universe, both in scientific concepts and in the emotional weight of its characters.

For those unfamiliar with the series: it follows the adventures of Rick Sánchez, a cynical and alcoholic scientific genius, and his grandson Morty Smith, an anxious, insecure, and not very bright teenager. They have wild interdimensional travels thanks to Rick’s portal gun. Together they explore the vastness of parallel universes and alien planets.

The series uses real scientific concepts and pushes them to the extreme, paying homage to or satirizing classics from film or other science fiction TV shows.

Although space adventures dominate much of the time, the series pays close attention to the dysfunctional dynamic of the Smith family.

While many episodes are self-contained, over the seasons the series has developed one significant overarching plot: Rick’s traumatic past and his quest for revenge.

I understand there is a new spoiler policy in the community, but since the ninth season is being analyzed, it’s necessary to be concise and direct about the topics being discussed, so read this review at your own risk (I still recommend watching the series).

Speaking of season 9, the episode development is subtle regarding continuity. I think only 3 of these 10 episodes were excellent. But I believe that’s because the series lacks direction.

Since season 3, the writers have closed storylines immediately; things that could have served several future episodes were resolved in one. Like Rick Prime (who seemed destined to be the final season villain but was eliminated, leaving the series without the typical final season antagonist).

This series has the ability to reinvent the standalone adventure format. The writers explore ideas and work on the fly because they have a formula/equation that works for any narrative thread.

The first and last episodes of the season are wonderful; however, some mid-season episodes suffer from slightly repetitive formulas with little innovation in the structural macro-multiverse worldbuilding. I can’t say for certain that the highlights of the season fully outweigh these stumbles.

What made the series interesting initially were the mysteries in the background, built in the shadows, pointing to a much larger narrative (like the famous Disney series Gravity Falls).

In seasons 1 and 2, it was hinted that Rick Sánchez had a tragic past and that his relationship with his grandson was not pure multiversal coincidence.

It wasn’t until season 6 that all the puzzle pieces, which had been coming together since episode 1, revealed the complex reality of the series. And after the events of episode 5 of season 7, the path that was built concluded, leaving an existential void.

I truly believe all the work planned from the beginning concluded in season 7. It took a long time to prepare, but the goal was achieved. If the series continues to this day, it may be because a new plan is underway or, on the contrary, the series as a product is a victim of its own commercial success.

Another reason Rick and Morty stood out was the immediacy with which they closed arcs or outright ended future problems.

The surprising episode 1 of season 3 made it clear to the audience that any plot or subplot that might prolong an episode’s narrative would be cut at the root as soon as possible: a conscious choice the series made not to be conventional or predictable.

Antagonistic figures such as the Galactic Federation, Rick Prime, and Evil Morty had notable presence throughout the seasons and promised future developments. Expectations were set, only for the creators to stylishly crush those illusions so no one expects what they think they’re expecting.

This is clever when there’s a coldly calculated plan, but as the series extends longer than intended, I think this has become a costly mistake. The series now lacks enough interesting elements to generate intrigue.

This void and lack of direction could turn Rick and Morty into an episodic series like The Simpsons.

The series is made to last forever, but should it?

Hello film and TV-loving friends. I hope you are doing very well and having a great day. I recently saw a TikTok video about the movie Finding Emily. I loved what I saw and was very curious to see how this very British romantic comedy story would unfold. I was really impressed by how much it reminded me of one of my favorite shows: My Mad Fat Diary. And even though I'm not big on rom-coms, I do enjoy unique love stories, and this one was super wild while still bringing a few smiles to my face. So, I wanted to invite you to read my review and hear my thoughts on Finding Emily 💓.

The story takes place in Manchester, where we meet Owen (Spike Fearn), a young guy who spends his days working as a sound technician at a nightclub. One day, during a big party at his venue, he meets a young woman who is very different from him, causing him to fall for her almost immediately. They share a brief conversation where he only finds out her name is Emily, and he asks for her number so he can contact her later. In his mind, he has already found the love of his life, but the problem is that now that he's completely smitten, he can't get ahold of her—her phone number is incomplete, and the only things he knows are her name and that she attends a certain university in Manchester.

Owen is someone who falls in love very easily; in fact, his brother reminds him that she's probably just another girl. But to him, that's not the case—he is determined to do whatever it takes to find Emily. When he arrives at the university and asks around for an Emily, he remembers there could be thousands of them, though someone tells him there is an Emily studying psychology who might be the one he's looking for. Upon meeting this Emily, he thinks she's the girl, but she tells him she isn't the one he's searching for. However, she offers to help him find the real Emily.

The search devolves into a series of absurd and hilarious events. Owen goes through all kinds of difficult and strange situations, reaching the point of becoming obsessed with the whole thing. Nevertheless, the Emily accompanying him encourages him to keep looking for the girl. I found it hilarious how Owen went through so much without ever truly questioning the crazy things he was doing for a girl he'd only met for one night, but I suppose love makes us do wild things just to have a chance to be with that special someone.

I love that it's a British film—it reminds me of My Mad Fat Diary—and even though it's aimed at a more teenage audience, I really enjoyed it. The lead actors, Spike Fearn and Angourie Rice, make the story feel very natural. They have great chemistry, even though they aren't romantically interested in each other—or at least, that's what they think at first. It's one of those love stories that make you laugh and smile because love can be as complicated or as simple as we choose to see it.

The scenery was lovely, showing parts of Manchester, how the local people interact, and their way of life. The music choices were also spot on; a good soundtrack in a love story always gives a film that extra touch to make it even sweeter. The characters all have their own quirks in different ways, and as they dive deeper into the feelings of love, their clear goals show how we sometimes do things without really thinking about the consequences. It's not your typical romance movie.

I felt the story's progression was quite original, giving off the vibe of a throwback story. Love stories from back in the day had a special quality that kept you hooked, and I really liked this one. I enjoyed Owen and Emily's story and how chaotic it can be when two completely different people meet—only to end up complementing each other, despite how strange it might seem for two strangers sharing a goal to end up falling in love. ‎Hello guys, good day, all. ‎ ‎Today was an interesting day, filled with joy and happiness, I got to watch a movie and I would love to tell you all about it. Are you looking for an amazing movie? I mean one that will burst your bubbles? ‎Then this one is for you. ‎Through the advert of the movie, I was satisfied already, I got a strive to watch the full movie. ‎ img sur

‎This movie really blows my mind with it actions. It's an alien movies but also filled with technologies. Every combat is just perfect. But it has some sad moments in it that made me angry and sad, but I believe it's all to make the movie interesting. ‎ ‎This is the second movie I remembered watching that was played by Christ Hermsworthq, he played well and he also made the movie cool and funny. In the movie he was just with the funs and little actions. ‎ ‎The name of the movie is men in black: international*. ‎One of the great men in black movies I have ever seen. The movie talked about a girl who saw her parents been nutriazied because of an alien, she grew up tracking those people and aliens. Her search led her to the organization (men in black), were she begins to work for the agency to fight against dangerous aliens.

‎In the movie, Agent H was played by Christ Hermsworth. Molly(Agent M)was played by Mandeiya Flory and then by Tessa Thompson High T was played by Liam Neeson. E.T.C.

Agent M is one of my best actors, her inquisitive character makes the movie more interesting and fun. One part of the movie that made me sad was when agent H noticed his boss (High T) was possessed by an alien called the Hive.

It all happened when agent H and his boss High T went on a mission, to kill the Hive. But unfortunately High T got possesd and he neutralized agent H and told he the he killed the Hive and the world was saved by him.

The Hive is a dangerous alien, and he wanted to destroy planet earth. Getting into High T's head was one of it ways to get this evil plans accomplished.

Agent H and agent M worked together in destroying the Hive. I could see the disappointment in agent H's face, but he has to do his job and at least he end, his boss was killers together with the Hive. By a deadly weapon.

I recommend this movie to everyone who wants to watch something different and with interesting actions.

There's a particular kind of nostalgia that comes with revisiting a story you thought had already said its final word, and this film sits entirely inside that feeling. Peaky Blinders ended its run back in 2022 after six seasons, and it left behind that rare thing... a genuine cultural footprint, an aesthetic people still borrow from, a lead performance that helped launch Cillian Murphy toward an Oscar.

So there was always going to be a certain weight to bringing Tommy Shelby back, even in a tighter, feature-length form. And for the most part, I think it earns that return, even if it doesn't quite reach the heights of the show at its best.

The setting is 1940, Birmingham in the grip of the Blitz, seven years removed from where the series left off. Tommy has retreated into a kind of self-imposed exile, worn down by grief... the loss of his daughter, his brother Arthur's death, a lifetime of trauma stretching all the way back to the first World War... and in his absence, his estranged son Duke has taken the reins of the family's criminal empire. Duke is harder-edged than his father ever was, embroiled with a British fascist sympathizer secretly funneling counterfeit currency into the country on behalf of the Nazis, in a plot designed to collapse the British economy from within. It's Tommy's reckoning with his own legacy, framed against the much larger reckoning of a country at war, and there's something quietly moving in watching a man who spent so many years being the most dangerous person in every room now have to decide whether he still has anything left to give.

Cillian Murphy slides back into Tommy with the kind of ease that only comes from truly understanding a character down to the bone. There's more weariness in him now, more grief sitting behind the eyes, and Murphy plays that with real restraint... he doesn't need big, showy moments to communicate how much this man has been worn down by time. Barry Keoghan, stepping into the world as Duke, brings his own kind of dangerous unpredictability to the role, different in texture from Murphy's controlled stillness, and their scenes together carry a real tension... two men who share blood but not understanding. Tim Roth is quietly unsettling as the film's central antagonist, and it's genuinely satisfying to watch veteran actors like Stephen Graham and Sophie Rundle step back into this world alongside them.

Visually, this is everything you'd want from a Peaky Blinders film.... The cinematography leans into the same striking contrasts the show always did... the grim, ash-gray industrial decay of wartime Birmingham against pockets of misty green countryside and the production design carries that same lived-in, meticulously tailored world-building that made the show such a distinct visual touchstone in the first place..

The dialogue occasionally leans expository, spelling out character motivations and history a little too plainly for an audience that's presumably already invested enough to be watching a feature-length sequel in the first place. And though the Nazi-plot framing gives the story real stakes on paper, the plot machinery around it moves briskly enough that some of the emotional beats ... particularly Duke's arc — don't quite get the room to breathe that they deserve. It's the kind of film that seems less concerned with standing entirely on its own and more focused on providing a satisfying, tidy epilogue for the people who've already spent years in this world.

That said, I don't think that's necessarily a fatal flaw. Not every continuation needs to reinvent what came before it.. sometimes the goal really is just to give a beloved story a proper, dignified send-off, and on that measure, this mostly succeeds. It's well-acted and occasionally quite brutal in that specific Peaky Blinders way because it treats each characters with enough care that longtime fans are likely to walk away satisfied, even if the plotting doesn't always match the emotional weight it's reaching for.

My Final Thoughts: Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man isn't trying to be a bold reinvention... i think it is better off because it is different.. It is beautifully made and well-performed elegy for a character who spent a decade earning our complicated sympathy, closing his story with dignity even if the narrative around him occasionally feels more dutiful than daring and for those of us who spent years in Small Heath with the Shelby family, that's more than enough.

A satisfying, well-acted send-off that prioritizes closure over ambition, and mostly earns it

I know the title of this review might seem confusing, but it's the absolute truth. It's a film I expected a bit more from, especially after seeing a decent Superman movie, but for some reason, I already knew it wasn't going to be like that, that it would be talked about, but not in a positive way. And this is a shame because I personally liked this film. It's not the best DC has done, but it's quite decent compared to what they were doing, especially before James Gunn came along. Another thing I don't understand is the hatred for Millie Alcock. I don't know where it comes from or the reason for it because she does an acceptable job here, or at least what was expected.

Es una película de la esperaba un poco más, sobretodo después de haber visto una decente película de Superman, pero por alguna razón ya uno sabía que no iba a ser así, que se iba a hablar de ella pero no de la mejor manera. Y esto es una lastima porque personalmente este film me gustó, no es lo mejor que ha hecho DC pero es bastante decente a lo que venía haciendo, sobretodo antes de la llegada de Jamen Gunn. Otra de las cosas que no entiendo es el odio a Milly Alcock, no se de donde viene ni la razón porque acá hace un trabajo aceptable o por lo menos lo esperado.

The film is known to have lost money at the box office, hence the decision not to let that wound fester any longer and to release it digitally quickly. Anyway. This time, we have Kara, Superman's cousin, celebrating her birthday in space, specifically where there's a red sun so she can really enjoy the effects of alcohol. At 21, she's cynical and rude, but she has a good heart, and it's precisely that heart that gets her into trouble. The root of it all is that while defending a strange girl, her dog Krypto is seriously injured, so she plots to find a cure to save him.

Llama la atención que apenas un mes después de su estreno en cine ya esté en digital, esto nunca es bueno. La película se sabe que tuvo pérdidas en taquilla de ahí la decisión de no seguir dejando "sangrar" más esa herida y lanzarla rápido a lo digital. Pero bueno. En esta oportunidad tenemos a Kara, la prima de Superman, celebrando su cumpleaños en el espacio, específicamente donde hay sol rojo para así poder sentir el alcohol con ganas. Ella, de 21 años, es cínica y grosera pero de buen corazón y es precisamente ese corazón lo que hace que se meta en problemas. La raíz de todo es que por estar defendiendo a una niña desconocida hieren a su perro Krypto de gravedad por lo que trama será buscar la cura para poder salvarlo.

She fights a gang of kidnappers who are hunting women to prevent their race from disappearing. The backstory is easy to understand. The thing is, from then on, Kara is paired with this girl, Ruthye, who is also seeking revenge, and together they embark on a hunt to find Krem, the leader of this group. On one hand, using Krypto as the victim is interesting; we know how much empathy people have for dogs, so the reason for everything is more than justified, or at least that's what I think the screenwriters intended. Personally, at times I felt like I was watching something very adolescent, something very naive; I expected everything to be more adult, a little grittier. This doesn't mean it's a bad movie, but I feel like it wasn't really for me.

Se pelea con una banda de secuestradores que buscan mujeres para que su raza no se desaparezca. Es fácil entender el trasfondo. La cosa es que a partir de ahí Kara le tocará estar con esta niña, Ruthye, quien también busca venganza, y entre las dos emprenderán una cacería para dar con Krem, el líder de este grupo. Por un lado que hayan usado a Krypto como la victima es interesante, se sabe la empatía que hay hacía los perros por lo que la razón de todo está más que justificada o por lo menos eso creo que es lo que esperaban los guionistas. Particularmente a veces sentía que estaba viendo algo muy de adolescente, algo muy ingenuo; esperaba que todo fuese más adulto, un poco más crudo. Esto no quiere decir que sea una mala película pero siento que no era tanto para mi.

What I did like was the whole story they told about the last days of the planet Krypto and how she survived with her parents after the explosion. Giving context to a character who hadn't been explored much before is important because, yes, she had appeared a lot in various Superman and DC universe projects, but the story itself was completely different. The movie itself isn't tiring; it's just over an hour and a half long and has good action scenes, very cool visuals, and is entertaining. The story is basic, but it works because it's a simple way to introduce the character to what will be the new DC universe.

Lo que si me gustó es toda la historia que contaron sobre los últimos días del planeta Krypto y como ella sobrevivió con sus padres después de la explosión. Darle contexto al personaje del que no se había dicho mucho antes es importante porque si, había aparecido mucho en diversas cosas de Superman y del universo de DC pero la historia como tal, nada que ver. La película en si no cansa, dura poco más de hora y media y tiene buenas escenas de acción, tiene unas visuales muy cool, es entretenida, la historia es básica pero está bien porque es una forma simple de presentar el personaje a lo que será el nuevo universo de DC.

One character I haven't mentioned is Lobo, played by Jason Momoa. It's his first time appearing in this cinematic universe, so the addition of a new face is welcome. He's very much a Momoa character, even down to his personality, and I think he adds a bit more depth to the plot and visual flair to some of the scenes he's in. As I said, Milly does a decent job, nothing extraordinary, but enough to get the job done. I have to say, I didn't like the villain; he was very cartoonish and full of clichés. I feel like sometimes they don't take the development of these characters seriously when they should be just as important as the good parts of the story. And as for Ruthye, well, she's another interesting and sometimes annoying addition, but she holds the plot together because without her, nothing would happen. We have to remember that this universe is starting from scratch with James Gunn at the helm, so we'll have to be a little patient to see where it all goes. Do I recommend it? - Yes, it's a cool, short, and easy-to-watch and understand film. I'll leave the trailer down here.

Un personaje del que no hablé fue el de Lobo a cargo de Jason Momoa. Es primera vez que lo vemos en este universo cinematográfico por lo que se agradece la adición de una nueva cara. Es un personaje muy Momoa incluso hasta en personalidad, creo que la da un poco más de profundidad a la trama y vistosidad a algunas escenas en las que él es protagonista. Como ya dije Milly hace un trabajo normal, nada extraordinario pero suficiente para aprobar con la tarea. El villano si tengo que decir que no me gustó, muy caricaturesco y lleno de clichés. Siento que a veces no se toman en serio la construcción de estos personajes cuando deberían de ser igual de importantes que la parte buena de la historia. Y en cuanto a Ruthye pues bien, es otro complemento interesante y fastidioso a veces pero que sostiene la trama porque sin ella no pasaría nada de la historia. Hay que recordar que esta universo está empezando de cero de la mano de James Gunn por lo que habría que tener un poco de paciencia para ver a donde va todo. La recomiendo? - si, es un film cool, corto y fácil de ver y entender. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.
