Dead Ringers is probably one of the few series that watching an episode every week will get you lost, from the fact that you have twins that switch places at will depending how well they feel with their current situation, to the delusional state of Elliot, one of the twins; sometimes you end up without knowing how to difference from their reality to the effect of drugs and alcohol, I'm sure this is a Mini Series because I don't know how they would fit another season after the last episode. This TV Show needs to be watch either during a day or at least sperate them in two parts, three episodes each, so its easy to keep up. I never saw the original movie and now have a perfect excuse, Dead Ringers from 1988 plus I still have to watch Fatal Attraction from 1987 so I can compare their two modern versions. One thing I would advice is not to compare them as in a heads up race because this series are not intend to be the same, they are similar, adapted to modern tv guidelines and meta, trying to take a movies from the 80's and adapt them into a TV Show as Mini Series so comparing them will ruin the experience.

Episode six brings the end to this Mini Series, an end that I was not expecting, by this episode Elliot is lost, devastated, at times I thought she was going to kill someone, its very little what's known about her during the previous and this episode. Beverly is pushed to destroy Elliot after Silas a writer covering their story and their birthing center got them against the wall, threatening to destroy everything with what he found about Elliot, all I'm saying might make sense if both twins, Elliot and Beverly are alive, living the during the same space and time but it doesn't seem to be that way, in just the very last minutes of the series, everything is changed and there are a few things that will make no sense anymore, its like they give you two separate endings or two separate stories, the ending was Epic.

After Beverly decided to move out and start a life with Genevieve, Elliot is no where to be found or at least next to Beverly, this kind of make sense to what could be an alternate ending for the series, Beverly has everything she wanted, when they started all she wanted was getting pregnant, have their birthing center running with them having total control of it, at first Rebecca their mayor investor was always on their way but towards the end with their success she gave them more freedom. Everything looks great for Beverly, clear skies but it looks like she cant be happy, she probably does not know what that is like. From the start I have been thinking they are in love with each other, the Twins, they cant be far from each other and this is killing Beverly on the inside even though she doesn't express it.

Rebecca and her wife Susan invite Beverly and Genevieve to dinner at a restaurant, they are nominated for "The Karlovich Institute Award" so they gather to celebrate their success in science and the business, the techniques that they have develop within the birthing center has help many women so its becoming very popular, at the same time the business side is thriving, they must be making a killing from all this patients, at the end Beverly seem to accept that the birthing center is not for the masses, is not for poor people, she tried to fight this concept at first but this kind of boutique clinics are for a wealthy sector.

After celebrating, the real reason why they were their, the reason everyone knows about except Beverly, even Genevieve talk to Susan and Rebecca behind her back, they want Beverly to publicly recognize Elliot has nothing else to do with the business from no on, the dinner was an ambush, Beverly only had two options, be loyal to her twin sister or burn her to the ground after Silas has written a very well article explaining all Elliot's abuse, miss behave, drugs addiction and potentially murder accusation, this could end everything Beverly dream of.

After the dinner the thought that she doesn't know and cant be happy was born on Beverly's mind and coincidence a patient came back to the clinic who is having a very hard time with been a mother and describe it as "awful mistake that I can't figure out how to take back" similar to what Beverly is experiencing after she have finally achieve everything she always dream the only problem is that Elliot is not there with her making her feel sad, empty, like no matter how much success she has if its not with Elliot its pointless, until this point there is all kind of proof that Elliot is real, she still alive, she appears on a few scenes during episode six, doesn't say or interact much but she still there.

The night of the award comes, Beverly is under a lot of group pressure and she gives in, throws Elliot under the bus in front of everyone and there is only one person who still probably cares and tries to safe Elliot, that's Elliot's right arm at the lab, Tom, he is a bit less devilish when it comes to science but still walk the same path as Elliot, he confronts Beverly and I like how from one second from another he looks totally drunk, wasted but suddenly starts talking perfectly fine telling Beverly how Elliot did all this for her and this is how she pays her own sister, its like Beverly is living in two realities, this is the first time that looks like Beverly is experiencing things from another reality, she constantly hear the word "Baby Sister" and feels like Elliot is next to her but scene with Tom as creepy.

After the event Silas went to visit a gallery where Greta, the twins maid, was performing, she is a very talented artist, drawing, paints and even acting, during all the episodes she took thinks from the twins and even their parents, all kind of objects from clothes, trash, tampons,  and use it for their art, I thought initially she was another scientist trying to steal their experiments although she did have a lot of information about the Twins, including most Elliot's crazy adventures and Silas tries to exploit that, but we most likely wont know what's next since this is a mini series from my understanding.

This is not the first time that Beverly gets mad at her sister and distance from her but this is the first time she hurt Elliot so bad, the first time Elliot end up so high she actually killed a women throwing her out of the balcony and then thought she hallucinate it, eventually Beverly came back and so she did this time, Genevieve went out on a business trip and Beverly took the chance to visit Elliot, the apartment was a total mess but Elliot was not there. Beverly goes to the only place she could be and that was her lab, there was Elliot with two big babies artificially grown waiting for Beverly. This is where the story start to shift into possible endings.

At the lab the twins have this conversation where Beverly decides to die so her sister can live on as Beverly, Elliot injects her and cut her open taking out the babies, its impressive and gore, lots of blood, the scene was very savage so I didn't want to post pictures. I remember Rebecca saying at the start of the episode during the dinner, Elliot was her favorite of the two, Elliot is now at a bed sitting with Susan and Rebecca and you can tell how Rebecca knows she is Elliot and Elliot gets it but tries to cover up.

Its a very twisted ending because what happen with Beverly? we see Tom crying leaving the city but is he caring Beverly body in the trunk of his car? or is he caring the two babies that Elliot grew on the lab? because those are never mention.

The episode DOES NOT END when credits come up, there are a few more minutes with Beverly/Elliot sitting at the park where a women stop to talk to her and in the exchange she mention it must be hard for her to talk about her DEAD sister, Elliot/Beverly has NO RECORD, NO MEMORY of this happening so was Elliot or Beverly part of her imagination, she as Beverly says how when they were 10 she says

Back in 2021, I visited a place called “ Studio Gamplong”. The place is similar to Hollywood set and it’s where many Indonesian blockbuster film takes place including The Earth Of Mankind. I have never released any of its picture online yet but today, along with the movie that I’ll be reviewing, I will show you some of the pictures I got from there. But first, I’ll review the movie that’s adapted from a popular novel back on its day, “ The Earth of Mankind” by Pramoedya Ananta Toer. The movie was released back in 2019 as a historical romance directed by famous Indonesian director, Hanung Bramantyo. It starred Indonesian famous actors such as Iqbaal Ramadhan and Mawar Eva De Jongh as the protagonist. The movie has a lot of dutch dialogue and it runs for 3 hours. This film is available on Netflix.

The story sets during Indonesian colonial rule where the natives or called “Pribumi” was considered the lowest class. It follows the life of Javanese man who was part of the elite of the time and studied at a Hogere Burger School (HBS), a school where only European, half European and minority of native elites that can attend the place. Minke, whose real name is Tirto Adhi Soerjo is the main narrator and the protagonist of the story. He received the nickname because his teacher mentioned that he was like a monkey, in a racist way, and students along with his friends ended up calling him Minke.

One day, his friend, a half dutch student called Robert Suurhof invited him to a place that belongs to Nyai Ontosoroh, the concubine of a dutch man called herman Mellema. They were going to see Annelies Mellema, the daughter of the Mellema family who is beautiful. Annelies is half dutch but she would preferred to be acknowledged as a Javanese woman instead a half-dutch/European. Meanwhile Suurhof was there because he is friend with Robert Mellema, the brother of Annelies. The brother disdain natives and thinks highly of Dutch and he was prideful of being half-dutch.

During that visit, Minke falls in love to Annelies and vice versa. But their love story isn’t necessarily a smooth sailing one. They come from different class, family background and rules that only favors the dutch. In the movie, they fought to be together but tragically separated by the law that favors the dutch. Though they get married but Annelies ended up having to leave Indonesia and Minke was left alone with an open-ended ending.

Since the book is part of trilogy, it was rumored to have another one but even today, I have yet to see any development on that. I really hope they make a sequel to this movie because it was terrific.

Personally, it was surreal to watch all the rooms I ever been to and I was there. It was amazing how they turn the set into this well-crafted movie that discuss colonialism. The story itself was quiet heavy and I think that one has to really understand that time to truly understand the story.

But even when seen into the simplistic romance lens, it was moving. It was the story between two people with opposing world and though they were against all odds, they were not getting the closure they needed. You will sympathize with the characters and their development in the story. And to sum it all, it was dramatic too.

Though the story centered around the love between Minke and Annelise, there are more characters in it that also adds conflict and spice to it. These supporting characters were used to convey the lives during colonial rule in the country. They feature different classes and how it lives their lives day to day.

Unfortunately, when I was visiting the studio, the train was about to stop operating and I couldn’t hop on it. But now, here are the pictures that I’ve been keeping for two years now. Since I saw that there are people uploading the pics from there, I reckon that it’s fine by now. I have to say that when I was there, the place wasn't that popular. But it was already gaining more and more exposure. To me, the best part of the place was definitely the train and the tracks.

In the past, I was also visiting old town of Semarang where some Indonesian blockbuster was filmed. But this one was definitely a Hollywood-like set, a mini studio where you can feel like inside a movie and take great pictures. There were more sites in this compound but they aren't part of the film. I will be showing you some of it below.

Meanwhile above is a set that I often see whenever I watch movies at the cinema. There were some opening scene of ads before any film starts and that one is featured over there.

While I was at the studio, I only visited the main complex especially the part where The earth of mankind was made. There were a lot more that I haven't got to check out because it was about to rain and I was already exhausted. Now that I finally watched the movie, it was another experience itself.

Hello friends! Today I bring you the review of one of those romantic movies that you already know I love. It was recently released on the Netflix platform, it is Love at First Sight.

Esta película sigue a Hadley y Oliver, dos personas que no se conocen pero sus destinos quedarán entrelazados en un aeropuerto de Estados Unidos rumbo a Londres. 

This film follows Hadley and Oliver, two people who do not know each other but whose fates will become intertwined in an airport in the United States on their way to London.

Hadley perdió su vuelo por 4 minutos, lo que puede complicar sus planes porque se dirige a la boda de su padre, y ella es una de las damas de honor. Sin embargo, esto parece ser lo mejor que le pudo haber sucedido, ya que mientras espera embarcar en el próximo vuelo conoce a Oliver, un chico que se dirige al mismo destino que ella. Apenas se miraron surgió una conexión entre ellos que se potenció tras bromas y una cena apresurada de por medio. Al momento de tomar su vuelo deben separarse, pero el destino nuevamente mete la mano y como el cinturón del asiento de Oliver no funciona, es movido a otra ubicación que es justo al lado de Hadley. 

Hadley missed her flight by 4 minutes, which may complicate her plans because she is headed to her father's wedding, and she is one of the bridesmaids. However, this seems to be the best thing that could have happened to her, because while waiting to board the next flight she meets Oliver, a boy who is heading to the same destination as her. As soon as they look at each other, a connection between them arises, which is enhanced by jokes and a hurried dinner in between. As they board their flight they must separate, but fate once again steps in and as Oliver's seat belt doesn't work, he is moved to another location which is right next to Hadley.

Así que ahora tienen 7 horas para seguir conociéndose, tiempo más que suficiente para intercambiar números o algo similar, pero esto no sucede. Al llegar al aeropuerto, son separados en la aduana, y todo parece indicar que es el fin de este amor pasajero. Aunque el destino tiene otros planes para ellos, nada más deben seguir a su corazón y estar listos para descubrir la probabilidad estadística del amor a primera vista. 

So now they have 7 hours to get to know each other, more than enough time to exchange numbers or something similar, but this does not happen. Arriving at the airport, they are separated at customs, and everything seems to indicate that this is the end of this passing love. Although destiny has other plans for them, they just have to follow their hearts and be ready to discover the statistical probability of love at first sight.

Al empezar esta película nos aclaran que no se trata de una historia de amor, sino del destino. Por eso lo mencioné tanto en la trama. El destino, se puede creer en él o no, lo cierto es que a veces suceden cosas en nuestras vidas que no tienen explicación, que están allí para tomarnos por sorpresa y sacudir nuestras vidas para bien o para mal. 

At the beginning of this film we are told that it is not a love story, but a story of destiny. That's why I mentioned it so much in the plot. Fate, you can believe in it or not, the truth is that sometimes things happen in our lives that have no explanation, that are there to take us by surprise and shake our lives for better or worse.

Me pareció bonito el mensaje que deja esta película. También fue curiosa y muy acertada la voz que narra los acontecimientos importantes que iban sucediendo, aunque a veces me pareció que te adelantaba los hechos. Después me di cuenta que esto era improbable porque ya con saber el título de la película es información suficiente para deducir lo que puede llegar a pasar. No hay mucho más que esto.

I found the message of this film beautiful. It was also curious and very accurate the voice that narrates the important events that were happening, although sometimes it seemed to me that it was giving you a preview of the facts. Later I realized that this was improbable because just knowing the title of the film is enough information to deduce what might happen. There is not much more than this.

Es una historia simple de dos personas que se conocen y se enamoran, pero lo que transmite es un sentimiento cálido y reconfortante. Es una película que se quedó conmigo por mucho rato. Hacía tiempo que no me pasaba de terminar una película y querer mirarla de nuevo. También lo quise hacer el día siguiente, no lo hice. Pero las ganas siguen estando y aún pienso en estos personajes que me parecieron dos tiernos.

It's a simple story of two people who meet and fall in love, but what it conveys is a warm and comforting feeling. It's a movie that stayed with me for a long time. It had been a long time since I had finished a movie and wanted to watch it again. I also wanted to do it the next day, I didn't do it. But the desire remains and I still think of these characters that I found two tender.

La química que hubo entre estos actores fue impresionante. Me creí por completo lo que me estaban mostrando. Me encantó la manera de narrar su historia, ya se hicieron películas con narradores omnipresentes, esta tenía una narradora presente que se aparecía para ayudar a estos dos a encontrarse. No nos cuentan quién es, pero creo que era el destino personificado. 

The chemistry between these actors was amazing. I completely believed what they were showing me. I loved the way their story was told, they already made movies with omnipresent narrators, this one had a narrator present who showed up to help these two find each other. They don't tell us who she is, but I think she was fate personified.

Además tiene un buen ritmo en su 1h y media de duración, no hay mucho relleno y todo lo que pasa parece importante. Se puede considerar un poco cliché en algunas partes, pero lo compensa. Me gustó que había concordancia entre los diálogos y las escenas que pasaban, como cuando Hadley le comentó a Oliver que el amor para ella era sostenerse la mano en momentos difíciles y se pudo ver esta interacción de ella hacía Oliver en un momento oportuno, y en la madre y el padre de este, hacía el final también se hace un comentario sobre esto. 

It also has a good pace in its 1h and a half length, there is not much filler and everything that happens seems important. It can be considered a bit cliché in some parts, but it makes up for it. I liked that there was agreement between the dialogues and the scenes that happened, like when Hadley commented to Oliver that love for her was holding hands in difficult moments and you could see this interaction of her towards Oliver in a timely manner, and in Oliver's mother and father, towards the end there is also a comment about this.

Lo único que me mareo un poco fue que usarán tanta estadística en los diálogos, se me hacía un matete en la cabeza, soy más del palo de letras que el de matemáticas jajaja. Pero Oliver es un gran fan de las estadísticas, le gusta medir la vida en números, y hay una razón que se nos revela más adelante. Amé la escena final, fue perfecta. Me gusta este tipo de película que se hace corta pero que no deja nada librado al azar, nos cuenta el cuento completo para que uno se lo termine de imaginar en su cabeza. 

The only thing that made me a little dizzy was that they used so many statistics in the dialogues, it made my head dizzy, I'm more of a letter stick than a math stick hahaha. But Oliver is a big fan of statistics, he likes to measure life in numbers, and there is a reason that is revealed to us later on. I loved the final scene, it was perfect. I like this kind of movie that is short but leaves nothing to chance, it tells us the whole story so you can finish imagining it in your head.

También amé las bromas con doble sentido y las partes emotivas. Creo que se puede notar lo mucho que me gustó la película, está basada en un libro del mismo nombre que leí hace poco y si bien no es una adaptación muy fiel, lo esencial lo tiene. Les diría que hasta me gustó más que el libro, aunque ambos son buenos y un gran hallazgo de este año. Sin dudas estarán en mi top de películas y libros de fin de año.

I also loved the double entendre jokes and the emotional parts. I think you can tell how much I liked the movie, it's based on a book of the same name that I read recently and while it's not a very faithful adaptation, it has the gist of it. I would say that I even liked it more than the book, although both are good and a great find this year. Without a doubt they will be in my top movies and books for the end of the year.

Para terminar les quiero decir que ojalá se den la oportunidad de verla porque es un gran sí. Es la película pochoclera ideal para ver. Si son fans del género romcom seguro la amarán tanto como yo. Y si no lo son, hay un 50% de probabilidad de que les guste y otros 50% de que no. Descubran de qué lado de la estadística están.  

In closing I want to say that I hope you give yourself the opportunity to see it because it is a great yes. It is the ideal pochoclera movie to watch. If you are fans of the romcom genre you will love it as much as I do. And if you're not, there's a 50% chance you'll like it and another 50% chance you won't. Betting on renewing ideas (and characters) to keep the pace of the plots always frantic, it's easy to understand why One Piece has become such an easily consumed product: it bet on a simple idea, with captivating characters, a diverse narrative plot, a development dynamic and a “screaming” color palette.

This is one of those series where people will be expecting for it to be as good as the original, The Walking Dead; but everything is different on its own way, some of the characters might be the same but there are new stories, new motives, now zombies are not the topic at hand but people themself, I think for the most part of the original series, the last seasons; most likely were not about the Zombies and that's when part of the audience abandon the series but those who were fan of the charterers carry on. Starting next month October I'm planing on starting to watch a few long series like The Walking Dead, series I never finish mostly due to the amount of episodes but its been years trying to appreciate TV Series and I think I can now finish it.

That is Dead City, its about the characters and not about the Zombies anymore, its very unlikely that characters on the series will be killed because Zombies got them, for the most part it will be because they were betray, left behind, were hurt, many other reasons but not because they got chase and trap by Zombies. Negan and Maggie are going and learning this jungle that is Manhattan but at the same time they are going to know each other better, they got a lot of story between them but have never work as a team, like now; both with a common goal and assets on the line like the kids they want to protect, but Maggie probably didn't know both sides of Negan, she only knew the monster who killed her husband.

Negan is and old dog now, he was retired, but still has a bag full of tricks, Maggie and him are after The Croat, in a city that is not their own, they don't know it but as he once mention, he knows how The Croat operates, after all it was him who train him, he had one chance to put him down once he saw what a savage he was but he miss, he also shows on a few scenes, when Esther was killed Negan didn't went nuts and blew his brains out mediated but instead he did what he does best, put up a show for his friends and let them know who is the big dog.

On Dead City there is a zip line system between buildings that people use to move from one to another, Maggie stuff was taking by a strange lady and they don't know where they going, they just start chasing her but at the same time Zombies are getting closer, here hit me a original series flash back, was the perfect opportunity for Negan to stab her in the back and not throw her back the slider and let her probably get eaten or just ran away but he didn't, Negan has no agenda on this series, he just want to stay away from the Marshall that is after him and go back with Giny and make sure she is safe.

Esther was the first person who was friendly to them in Manhattan, once they got to her now they met Tommaso and Amaia, at that point they don't know what to think about them but have a feeling they are not with The Croat, Amaia is the brains, Tommaso the muscle and both are leader to a small group of survivors against The Croat but this Negan and Maggie don't know yet.

Source Maggie and Negan are put into time out until Tommaso and Amaia figure out who they really are, Maggie is on a hurry because she wants to get Hershel, her son; back from The Croat and Negan he already know how this works, he invented the game, so patiently waits and avoid confrontation as they were disarm and out number. In this room Negan explains Maggie who The Croat was, how he took him into his brother hood, called him Buraz (brother), but Negan had no idea the monster that The Croat was, Negan different than him was a man who only act when it was necessary but The Croat was different, he knew to sniff people and figure out what they were after if not he would make them speak one way or another, methods that Negan didn't agree at first but were useful in the world they were living until one day The Croat went too far, a girl, a drifter who Negan felt was not a threat to them but The Croat felt different and despite Negan direct order he killed her, a kid, in his own words "rabid dog that needed to be put down" that's when Negan knew this man was a train wreck, tried to put a bullet to his head but he missed and only blew up his ear.

The Burazi (The Croat's people) got to their place so Nega, Maggie, Tommaso and Amaia had to pick up things and run away but Esther got caught by one of them and killed by one of the Burazi, don't what their orders were but kept repeating "Doma smo", in Croatian (Google translate) "We are at home", this is when Negan knew it was time to play some mind games.

Negan takes the Burazi that killed Esther, kick his ass and went to the room the rest of them were, starts a knock knock joke and then cut his neck and guts out, creating a thunderstorm of blood on top of the Burazi, you really need to be a bad ass to not get intimidated by Negan's actions, a man who can cut up some one this easy without thinking twice is dangerous and wont stop until he gets what he wants. This is what Negan meant when he told Maggie he knew when he had to act to protect his people, in this moment he was at work performing to protect Maggie and the rest, this shocked her since she was looking when Negan cut up the Burazi.

While Maggie and Negan were risking their lives at Manhattan there was Giny, who was staying safe at Hiltop, Maggie's home town; but she was not feeling welcome neither ok staying there, she wants to be with Negan for some reason and there is something on Giny probably learn from Negan, to read people and I think there is something more than what Maggie said about The Croat, Maggie at first mention The Croat took all their grain and her son to make sure Hiltop keeps bringing in more supplies to when ever the Burazi comes back, Giny runs away and is now on her way to Negan. I wonder how she going to locate them, they are in Manhattan, had to cross a big river, may be she finds a boat too but in such large city how she going to find them? its TV after all so anything can happen.

I like how the city is presented, looks like a jungle that will eat you up, just like most cities in Asia with dense population, except here the population is dead but can still eat you, reminds me The Last of Us where the city was also infected and cover up with vegetation. This episode is the clear example of how the story rewinds and start to unfold what probably many didn't think about, why Negan was the man he was, what happen to him that he turn that way because on The Walking Dead when he killed Maggie's husband that was probably one of the coldest scenes ever on the series, slam him with the bat right on the head in front of the rest of the prisoners, Maggie been one of them, but he did all this to protect his people. Even after all this years while Maggie has also become more strong and though than others she is not a Negan level, she saw how the big dog turns on the switch and step up when needed, we now have to sides at war, Amaia and Tommaso will most likely take in Maggie and Negan, help them to kill The Croat or at least try because I'm sure wont be that easy. Spin off are hard to accept, they need to bring in something new to the story and I think Dead City does, brings in the true Negan and not just more Zombies or side stories, at least I'm interested to know The Croat and Negan story, how they started, things that happen in between and how this ends for both.

Cada cierto tiempo puedo leer en las redes sociales opiniones positivas sobre películas que por decisión propia no vería, pero en momentos en dónde no encuentro algún film que ver, retomo esa lista a la cual llamo "Cuando tenga oportunidad la veré" y tomo la que mejor captó la atención del público; en esta oportunidad hago reseña de un thriller criminal que creó críticas mixtas en su corta estadía en las salas de cine, pero con su estreno en Amazon Prime Video, parece que encontró un lugar donde se ha apreciado mucho más.

Every once in a while I can read on social media positive opinions about movies that by my own decision I would not see, but in moments where I can't find any movie to watch, I go back to that list that I call "I'll watch it when I have the chance" and I take the one that best caught the attention of the public; this time I review a criminal thriller that created mixed reviews in its short stay in movie theaters, but with its premiere on Amazon Prime Video, it seems to have found a place where it has been appreciated much more.

"To Catch a Killer", es un thriller criminal que narra como una agente de la policía, "Eleanor Falco" debe accionar cuando en la celebración del Año Nuevo, una serie de asesinatos ocurren; esta gran cantidad de muertos crea una situación de desespero en la cúpula gubernamental de la ciudad Baltimore que de manera constante presiona a tanto agentes del FBI como los policiales para resolver el crimen y es que el asesino es alguien que no dejó rastros y que es muy difícil de atrapar, eso hace que Eleonor, demostrando su inteligencia y entendimiento hacia el criminal, sea parte del equipo de investigación, liderado por el agente especial "Lammark" del FBI para cazar y poner fin al terror causado en esa ciudad.

"To Catch a Killer" is a crime thriller that tells how a police officer, "Eleanor Falco" must act when a series of murders occur on New Year's Eve; this large number of dead creates a situation of desperation in the government of the city of Baltimore that constantly pressures both FBI agents and police to solve the crime and that the killer is someone who left no trace and is very difficult to catch, that makes Eleanor, demonstrating her intelligence and understanding towards the criminal, be part of the investigation team, led by FBI Special Agent "Lammark" to hunt down and put an end to the terror caused in that city.

El film es dirigido por Damián Szifron, director argentino que anteriormente dirigió shows de TV argentinos y es por eso que esta película es la primera que dirige de habla inglesa. El trabajo de Szifron es correcto; tiene un buen sentido en las escenas llenas de tensión y suspenso, preferiblemente en lo que son los dos primeros actos del film; el uso de la cámara en toda la secuencia de las primeras escenas del film son muy buenas porque crean el impacto para que el público se adentre en la historia de una manera rápida y de una manera directa presenta a todos los protagonistas; lo que considero como negativo en el trabajo de este director, es de realizar tomas las cuales se pueden consideran artísticas y en mi opinión se ve muy forzado, no aportan absolutamente nada.

El guion co-escrito por Szifron y Jonathan Wakeham, presenta una excelente idea al unir la ficción con hechos reales, sé que no es original, pero funciona muy bien porque de esa manera le da profundidad a diferentes temas aunque el principal es la depresión y la inestabilidad mental; ambos escritores demuestran el peligro que existe cuando personas sufre de los padecimientos antes citados, esto es lo que me gustó de la historia la cual también presenta muchos temas como es la crítica hacia la burocracia, la imposición del poder, la necesidad de demostrar una normalidad cuando en cualquier momento puede hacer presencia el caos; está es una historia en dónde ocurre muchas cosas y las cual en su mayoría de tiempo está bien desarrollado, lamentablemente en lo que debería ser el clímax de la historia se entorpece porque prefirieron sobrexplicar algo que ya estaba más que desarrollado en la historia.

The film is directed by Damián Szifron, an Argentine director who previously directed Argentine TV shows and that is why this film is the first English-language film he has directed. The work of Szifron is correct; he has a good sense in the scenes full of tension and suspense, preferably in what are the first two acts of the film; the use of the camera in the whole sequence of the first scenes of the film are very good because they create the impact so that the audience gets into the story in a fast way and in a direct way presents all the main characters; what I consider as negative in the work of this director, is to make shots which can be considered artistic and in my opinion looks very forced, do not contribute absolutely nothing.

The script co-written by Szifron and Jonathan Wakeham, presents an excellent idea by joining fiction with real facts, I know it is not original, but it works very well because in that way it gives depth to different themes although the main one is depression and mental instability; both writers show the danger that exists when people suffer from the aforementioned conditions, this is what I liked about the story which also presents many issues such as criticism towards bureaucracy, the imposition of power, the need to demonstrate normality when at any moment chaos can be present; this is a story where many things happen and which in most of the time is well developed, unfortunately in what should be the climax of the story is hindered because they preferred to overexplain something that was already more than developed in the story.

La actuación de Shailene Woodley, como la policía "Eleanor Falco" es de lo destacable en el film; he visto su trabajo en otras producciones dramáticas y en esta oportunidad hace un buen trabajo Interpretando a una mujer perturbada por un pasado problemático; su sufrimiento silencioso la hará ser parte importante en la resolución de este importante caso porque en los breves momentos de confianza, no teme demostrar sus sentimientos, sus pensamientos que posiblemente le hagan conectar con el asesino. Otra buena actuación es por parte de Ben Mendelsohn, el Interpreta al agente especial "Lammark" y aunque es el típico líder de un grupo de investigación, en mi opinión cumple con ese rol, es mentor para bien y para mal, un personaje fuerte, enfocado en hacer su trabajo, aunque también es víctima de las circunstancias impuestas por quién tiene la necesidad de enseñar poder; ambos actores tienen buena química y eso ayuda mucho al relato del film.

The performance of Shailene Woodley, as the policewoman "Eleanor Falco" is one of the highlights of the film; I have seen her work in other dramatic productions and this time she does a good job playing a woman troubled by a troubled past; her silent suffering will make her an important part in the resolution of this important case because in the brief moments of trust, she is not afraid to show her feelings, her thoughts that may possibly make her connect with the murderer. Another good performance is by Ben Mendelsohn, he plays the special agent "Lammark" and although he is the typical leader of an investigation group, in my opinion he fulfills that role, he is a mentor for better and for worse, a strong character, focused on doing his job, although he is also a victim of the circumstances imposed by who has the need to show power; both actors have good chemistry and that helps a lot to the story of the film.

Entiendo el porqué de la aceptación de este film desde su estreno en Amazon Prime Video, es un film entretenido y bien dirigido y escrito en sus dos primeros actos, pero en mi opinión, es el final en dónde no se desarrolla de la mejor manera y cae, es por eso que considero que "To Catch a Killer" es un film regular; porque se extiende mucho en explicar los sentimientos y motivos del asesino esperaba que la historia terminara de una mejor manera; estoy convencido de que los guionistas no querían que su historia presentará tantos clichés del género, pero al final cumplen con todos aunque el gran problema es que no consiguieron un verdadero clímax que cerrara esta historia, es hasta un poco decepcionante y eso es debido a qué no existe conexión entre los actores que comparten las escenas finales, esa característica que según el guion debería existir conexión entre ambos, eso no se aprecia y se nota forzado; lamentablemente este es otro ejemplo en dónde una gran idea, no se cierra bien y se pierde en realizar una producción que expone una gran crítica a como se maneja este tipo de situaciones que observamos en este film.

I understand why the acceptance of this film since its premiere on Amazon Prime Video, it is an entertaining film and well directed and written in its first two acts, but in my opinion, it is the end where it does not develop in the best way and falls, that is why I consider "To Catch a Killer" is a regular film; because it extends a lot in explaining the feelings and motives of the murderer I expected the story to end in a better way; I am convinced that the screenwriters did not want their story to present so many clichés of the genre, but in the end they comply with all of them, although the big problem is that they did not get a real climax to close this story, it is even a little disappointing and that is because there is no connection between the actors who share the final scenes, that characteristic that according to the script there should be connection between them, that is not appreciated and it feels forced; Unfortunately this is another example where a great idea is not well closed and is lost in a production that exposes a great criticism of how this type of situations that we see in this film are handled.

This is a TV Series that I would love to have been posting when it started to cover it and today after its second season HBO decided to cancel it, I haven't seen how it ends but did had a blast watching season one so no complains, I will probably comment about why it got cancel latter on LeoThreads.

Second mention before I start, this is not a documentary, this is a TV Show, meaning that I expect a lot of it not been as close to real story, although this might have to do why they cancel it shortly after two seasons since the LA Lakers story I'm sure is more than just two season, so DO NOT expect this TV Show to cover every single character exactly as they were in real life.

I believe Winning Time is that type of series that you can watch right from season two and still have fun with it as it is mostly a comedy, characters like Jerry Buss, Magic Johnson, Norm Nixon, Michael Cooper, during the entire TV series they would always put a smile on your face, specially Jerry Buss.

This Tv Series covers a mix of different characters specially on season one when the entire structure of the story is created, season two is the continuation after the Jerry Buss bought the LA Lakers, change the business for ever turning NBA games into a party, he wanted people to come to The Forum (La Lakers Stadium at the time) to watch the game, come to the bar, spend time there watching the game and then party after Lakers win, that was the plan but not always work. This change the perception of a basketball game into a show with more attractions than just the game or the players, creating a bigger audience, building revenue (not always, at least was the idea) and trying to turn The Forum into a successful business, a place that can host more than just NBA games.

I not going to pretend to be the biggest NBA fan and know all the details about its story but I do know when to appreciate a good TV Show. I'm from the 80's and my two bigger cousins were hard core NBA fans, Michael Jordan fans, I saw the greatest player in history play the game latter on saw other players like Kobe Bryant, Shaquile Oneal, Karl Malone and extensive list of great players so I became a fan too, specially Michael Jordan fan. I do remember one of the most hardcore cities in NBA was Boston, during the times of this TV Show it was LA Lakers vs Boston Celtics, on season two the Lakers just won their first title and are looking to repeat the story, every time they face the Celtics it was war, specially if the Lakers win the game they were chase to their bus and had to run away before they were run down by the fans.

Episode two starts with Magic Johnson having some troubles for not been careful enough, during the TV Show he was presented as a young man, with a lot of talent, who started making a ton of money at the Lakers and love to party and was very smooth with the ladies, this got him into hot water, one of this ladies insist he got her pregnant and now Magic face a though decision, to not "stain" his image now his legal council wants to make a deal with this woman so she never speaks about it and in exchange will receive "financial assistance" in exchange for silence, Magic found this cold at first but lawyers sweet talk him to believe he cant afford a scandal not now that big sponsors are after him.

Latter on down the line Kareem, his mother and ex girlfriend had Magic change his mind about been a father, he was a good guy in a world full of snakes trying to stay feeding of his success so from time to time he got blind but all this fame and money that comes with success.

Ever since Magic got into the team he was a revolutionary and most of the time step out his boundaries, he was special player, one of the best on the team but he was no captain although he though he was, constantly he was trying to convince the other players, but for years before him Kareem got the Lakers lock down, he was the captain that all players respect and would not turn their backs on him for no body specially not for Magic.

Jerry Buss, one of the main characters, one of my favorites, was a man with a lot of vision, he knew that the future was not the games but the show, the different attractions that he could build around the game, Celtics already got the game but he was after something bigger than just winning the season, he wanted to revolutionize the sport and in the way make a ton of money. He knew that in order to win again one of the first things he had to do was to lock down the team, keep his players, now some of them have become starts others went up in value so he decided to skyrocket their contracts into the thousands, something that again change the story and was consider insanity by any other person within the NBA business.

Jeanie Buss, Jerry's daughter, was the only one in the family with his father vision, she support him in every single crazy idea he had, she also had his ambition for making The Forum something bigger than just NBA games, also had a strong temper to keep up with his father something her brothers didn't, they were too soft for Jerry, this eventually brakes the family apart.

Kareem was going through a rough time, he look out of shape, but not necessarily physically, probably it was the fact that he was about to be a father, Magic saw the opportunity and tried to take over the team but Kareem would not go down without a fight, also the rest of the team including the coach respect him and knew he is the cap, not Magic, this would not stop Magic from trying at least to show others he can be better than Kareem, at the same time he still fear Kareem too in a funny way.

Karma is a bitch, the moment Magic though he could take over the team, complaining about Kareem shape, he gets his knew injured and cant play for three months, this obviously makes everybody on the team go crazy because Magic is not just a good player anymore, he is one of their biggest stars, they feel their chances of keeping the title diminish with Magic absence.

Lakers start to loose a good amount of games but head coach Paul Westhead comes with "The System", he had this idea to get all his five starting players to move fast down the court and shoot as soon as they get the back, from specific places where they are the most effective, something that players didn't agree with since in a bad night shutting that fast would make them loose the game, they were more use to build up their game, improvising but with Magic out of the team due to his injure it was hard for them to win this way, at first the players denied to play as Paul ask them but down the line agree to give it a try, Kareem took the lead and a few games before Magic was ready to at least walk again they started to win games.

Magic becomes a father, get his cast off his leg, comes back as spectator after so long just to watch Larry Bird beat their ass like it was nothing, there was bad blood between Magic and Bird from way before they got into NBA.

At the moment of this post I have not read the article about why HBO decided to cancel the show but as you can tell is a very entertaining story that I know any NBA fan after the 90's would love, I say this because for those who know the exact story might not be as pleasant since I'm sure the TV Show is not exactly as it happen in real time, as a TV Show is very entertaining and could get new eyes into the sport. The story covers a lot of characters that had a lot of material to probably produce five seasons out of it, only two seasons will probably be too short depending on how they decide to end it, just season one was great and it tries to cover their first title win and I don't think a bad job at it, also consider that Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty got 8.3/10 on IMDB.

I'm not going to lie that I mainly start watching this series because of Priyanka Chopra Jonas, when I saw her on Matrix I melted jejeje then when Citadel came out there was a lot of hype behind it because of the trailer, it literally look like a James Bond movie, I have mention this a few times on previous posts (Citadel) and as usual a lot of people came out giving a bad rate to the series because it was not constant action as they thought, even James Bond movies are like that. In my opinion none of the episodes have disappointed, I don't put Citadel at the top with other series like Sorpanos, Braking Bad, The Last of Us but I would put it on a second tier of series, should make a post about ranking Tv Series and why.

Episode five of Citadel keeps unwinding the entire conspiracy theory of who sold out Citadel and why, at first everyone point their fingers at Nadia but now seems she had their own reasons and part of those reasons were shared with Mason Kane, they had a son but she never told him, he did offer to marry before and she turn him down because he is Mason Kane after all, the guy who you cant trust and is always steps ahead of everyone including Nadia so she knew there was no way even if she love him, problem is she got pregnant and didn't know at that time, probably she still would not marry him and after Mason Kane said about having a kid with her she would abort it, the guy is very cold thinking for a few things and its always the mission first no matter what, he send Nadia best friend into a program that would wipe out/backup her memories without telling Nadia or Abby, the wipe out girl; meaning that he would do it to anyone just to makes thing work out for him and Citadel. The entire I don't remember shit plot is falling down and truth is coming up float, its like the Spider Man meme pointing at each other between Mason Kane, Nadia and Carter looking for the agent that was guilty for selling out Citadel but at the end each one had some fault into it, I guess that's how things work when you are part of a ultra secret operation, probably why its been said that people with this kind of job can have long term relationship or married, reason is they cant trust anyone and no body cant trust them, except Hawk Eye but he kept his family a secret from the secret organization LOL.

The episode starts with Mason and Nadia at a Hotel, seems things are going great with their latest mission and they now have to pretend to be a married couple, Mason decided would be the best moment to ask her to marry him, she turn him down "this is some part of your playing?" she knows there is always something more to it, Mason is they guy that always has plans but it was not this time, he confess that when he is with her is the only time he can be himself, there is more explanation to this latter on the episode and towards the end of the season, whey Mason behaves like this and why he join Citadel.

I found this part funny, at first was impressive but Anders must had some sort of metal plaque on his head, just when he was going to free Bernard Orlick in exchange for getting him to Celeste Graham, the agent that Mason Kane wipe out, she was Anders love one before the entire story happen, Dahlia Archer put a bullet to his head, Anders manage to walk to her and tried to choke one of her guards before he fall dead.

This is the moment where everything went south for Citadel, Nadia Sinh gets an encrypted message from ID 001, no clue who that is but most be a founder? high rank?, saying Celeste Graham her friend was backstopped, the most obvious reason was that Mason Kane authorize there for she only had to ask one person to verify this info and it was Bernard who didn't have to say a word when she ask him, this is when the Pandora Box was open, the two mayor spy in the agency going at each other, Mason Kane betray Nadia's trust but the mission is above friendship for him.

Nadia confronts Mason Kane, most people might think its so simple he betray her trust so fuck him....hold my beer, BIG TWIST, Nadia Sinh was the one who stole The Oz Key, she thought no one knew about it and at some point was true but Mason knew about it and never said or ask her anything so he took out Celeste to protect her from HERSELF, because of her own doing now Nadia was at risk and for Mason Nadia Sinh was above any mission because he loved her, obviously she was blinded because a minor detail, Mason Kane wipe out her friends memory without telling any of them.

With every scene the truth starts to unfold and it look like Nadia Sinh was the one who sold out Citadel and got all those agents around the world killed but something was not clear enough yet, she was even accuse by Carter Spence who was the IT director at Citadel, he mention she was working with a terrorist Rahi Gambhir.

After they recover Carter they felt some one was chasing them but during the entire ride they were discussing who did it, who sold out Citadel, Nadia was under a big pressure from both Carter and Mason until she stops and tells the truth, she ran away because she was pregnant with Mason's daughter, even on the train mission she said to Mason "I lied to you...", Rahi Gambhir is her father, the man who Carter Spence said is a terrorist, so she ran away to Valencia to give birth far from Citadel but she DID NOT sold out Citadel, the question remains who did it?

Dahlia had a squad following Mason, Nadia and Carter after they got him out but things turn out worst, a bit too predictable for me that after Nadia Sinh confess she had a daughter with Mason now Dahlia kidnap her and wants them to help her take over a submarine with nuclear weapons.

The submarine shot was very cool, some times depending on the Tv Series I tend to watch them on VR and the submarine closing in was very immersive

Probably the episodes with the most insights of what really happen with Citadel, why everyone got killed except a few, why Nadia and Mason memories were wipe out, its all very odd but I have my theory that either Bernard Orlick or Mason Kane sold out Citadel because they were dirty and got ties with Manticore either they had family kidnap or something precious like secrets they didn't want Manticore to expose, there were not a lot of explosions and action as the season trailer suggest but it was very interesting to see the truth unfold besides the actors are good enough to keep me entertain, as I mention keep in mind you are not watching something as good as say Mandalorian, Citadel is not on that league, its a bit lower with the semi pros, I'm really enjoying this tv series and season 2 has been announce so at least it wont leave us hanging.

Everyone who follows the world of cinema more closely knows that words are not always an essential part of the final product. Despite being an undeniably important part (sometimes even a vital part) in movies, the most powerful script is not always executed with a combination of previously thought out lyrics and this becomes the great challenge for all screenwriters who try to offer a “non-formalized” verbal language.

This type of language can be described as the improvisation made by an actor or actress during a scene, because the lines exist, but they are not actually written in the official script of the movie, but lines that are uttered by their good friends in accordance with the emotions felt during the recordings. Obviously, all of this only works and convinces the public when the cast has “total” control over their characters and their respective feelings.

On the 10th, during its premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, a movie called Close To You brought an intriguing narrative approach to this visual universe, presenting the audience with 53 minutes of speeches (all filmed in just a single take) that were completely improvised by the its protagonist. In total, the movie is 1h40 minutes long and this shows that the work done by Elliot Page must really have been emotionally quite intense.
