Episode six wakes up real Mason Kane, Carter find out a way to rebuild the backup that he had of Mason's memory, on episode one or two Mason recover a briefcase that contain two injections, one was Nadia Sinh memories and the other one was his but his got damage and everyone thought his memories were gone, well things turn out to be worst than I thought and real Mason Kane is sneaky, selfish and will betray anyone who is not on his best interest, seems that he haven't forgotten what has happen all this time he was living his second life, with Celeste as his wife and having a daughter with her, when he match both lifes together it seems he doesn't like himself, he cant stand what he did in the past and how things turn out to be, he would have never thought Celeste Graham who he intentionally wipe out her memory knowing Nadia was the one who took the Oz key, he never thought she would end up as his wife, if he ever tells her the truth probably Nadia and Celeste would team up and kill him.

This episode did had a lot of action, nuclear submarine, sky diving, shooting inside the submarine, disarm nuclear rockets before you run out of air, it was very intense towards the end plus most of the conspiracy finish unfolding, its reveal who Mason was working with and what he would do to get what he wants in this case was Nadia, Mason is a control freak and once took Citadel as hostage when he setup the submarine access with his own bio-metric finger print, no body else but only him could access just to have leverage over Citadel and made them tell him where was Nadia and bring her back, seems she dodge a bullet not marrying him.

This episode is mostly about Mason, after all he recover his memory on this episode, he explains how he became a spy, he wanted to be some one but not for fame, when he was a kid his dad died and his mother left him so he was a man without country without flag, the only person he had was his grand mother, turns out his grand mother was Dahlia Archer the very same person who run Manticore so you probably have an idea who sold out Citadel.

Dahlia has Mason daughter and is using her to get him take control of the submarine since she wants the nuclear missiles, during their interaction she never calls him son or show any kind of affection, that would reveal her cards

Eight years ago, Citadel plan to hack into a Russian nuclear submarine that was fully automated, inside there were nuclear missiles so the target was to install a backdoor into the submarine system so if it was necessary any Citadel agent with enough access could stop the Russians from launching this nuclear weapons, Mason saw this as an opportunity to turn the submarine into his personal gadget to force Citadel bring back Nadia Sinh, this guy is not a force to be reckoned with.

Bernard once told Mason, even he doesn't remember who he is all his training and skills are still there, its all muscle memory, he had to jump from a plain and land on a moving submarine for sure no one including Nadia have faith he would nail it, and he almost didn't but Davik was with him and help him at first, only because he needed Mason to access the submarine.

Nadia smell that something was wrong when Mason was not answering communication, Davik almost got him killed so she jump to the submarine and took control of the situation, after she and Mason got Davik under control she had to now disarm the nukes although to get into the room had to lower her both temperature and there was not enough air in the room for her to disarm all missiles, she pull it out seconds before she pass out. They were now on their way to exchange the nukes cores for the Nadias daughter, Dahlia try to setup them but Nadia and Mason out smart her team.

Probably every man who has a family and a mistress, they are all back into Citadel old HQ, there is Nadia and her daughter, Masons daughter; also Celeste/Abby now Mason's wife with their daughter too, but he still doesn't have his memories back as Mason Kane, the only one who caught the flow of the room was Carter like damn this guy.

Once Mason recover his memories everything came to the light, he was Dahlia grand son who wanted to destroy Citadel for what they did to her and her son, Mason's father, she describe how they kill him, how they kill an entire building with UN workers, infants, all innocent, how they destroy the evidence and every confession, but Mason was at Citadel for other reasons, not help Dahlia, but once he could not make Citadel do as he wanted, locate Nadia and bring her back, he went to his grand mother for help to locate her, only problem is that she ask him in exchange to infiltrate Citadel and give her Citadel secrets, lets make clear there is no scene where he accepts but Dahlia shows up next talking with some one reveling all Citadel agents location and to take them out, I cant confirm it was Mason who sold out Citadel but we can confirm it was not Nadia.

At the end of the episode there is Mason Kane in what looks like an interrogation room, Nadia on the other side of the mirror, Celeste comes in an ask Mason "Do you remember?" , with a despicable look he answers I don't know, Nadia turns back with a look, on her mind she was like this MF again with his mind games, its worst now because they don't know for sure if he remembers anything.

After this episode I give Citadel season one a solid 7.5/10 , lot of action, actors are not the best but good enough to keep me glue to the screen for the entire episode, wanting to know more about Mason past and what he did to get to Nadia, episode six was a great ending for the first season, I hope this story goes for another two or three seasons if possible, the production, music, everything feels exactly like that European spy style movie, if you are realistic with your expectations Citadel wont disappoint you, towards the end there is a scene with a woman who looks like Celeste but I'm not sure if that's a scene from their past life before everyone got their memories wipe out. Mason turn out to be the worst of all of them, they were all sneaky spies but he had this ability to lie, manipulate people and been the bad ass of the series, he almost got the beautiful Nadia under his control but she knew better, she was not as easy as he wanted, I like the love story between them how she never fall into his trap and always knew she could not trust Mason Kane.

The story of one of the most acclaimed characters within one of the most important and iconic horror franchises in cinema is ending another cycle. The agreement that held the rights to the legacy involving the villain Michael Myers no longer exists among the companies Miramax, Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, and now, everything can take new directions (including, obviously, the production of new movies) once a new agreement is signed.

From now on, it is very likely that there will be extremely fierce competition among other studios that have (or already had) a certain interest in acquiring the rights to this franchise. Through many sequels (some good and others terrible) and a box office that brought great financial profits to the studios, Halloween won over fans around the world and even with a narratively questionable legacy, the image of Michael Myers is very timeless.

There is no doubt that this franchise is still very profitable and once the movies have been developed, everything could change even more (whether for the positive or negative side). An interesting aspect about this new dispute among all the studios is that this time, not only movies rights, but also television rights can be purchased. This obviously sets a very clear precedent: the idealization of a television series. A real idea.

Whether this will work or not, no one knows yet. However, one thing is certain: finding a new Laurie Strode in the shoes of a new Jamie Lee Curtis will be one of the producers' most difficult missions. This is such a legendary point in the franchise (inside and outside of theaters), that it automatically makes me question the quality of what has not even been considered yet. For now, there is still no official studio name in the competition, but the search will be intense.

While I’ve been quite swayed with the netflix production of South Korean cinema, I decided to check out American production again. After scrolling through some of them, my choice was “ The Gray Man”, a film released back in 2022 starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. As much as I think that it could be a promising one, I ended up questioning a lot of things after watching this film. The Gray Man is available on Netflix.

This film starts with the scene inside a prison in Florida where a CIA agent named “ Donald Fitzroy” was offering Courtland ( Ryan Gosling) a job to be part of CIA’s secret program called Sierra. In this program, Fitzroy is collecting criminals who will be trained to be someone that can kill but also vanishes without leaving a trace. They are known as the gray man. The film shift to the scene when Courtland, now is known as agent six is currently working on a mission in Bangkok to assasinate someone who allegedly is selling national information that was dangerous for the country if it’s leaked. They had some battle and in the end, the man revealed that he was agent four sierra and told Courtland that the agency is going to kill off every Sierra agent. Before dying, agent four handed out a necklace containing a memory which revealed to contain the dirt from the current CIA chief Denny Carmichael.

Chaos ensues when Six decided not to continue with his mission and was airlifted to the safe house with the help of Donald Fitzroy. At the same time, in the base Carmichael was trying to catch Six and attempt to kill him. Since his attempt was failed, he ended up hiring a former sierra agent turned into the private sector Lloyd (Chris Evans). The problem is, Lloyd is known to be sociopath and even during the chase of six, he tortured Fitzroy. Both of them (Six and Llyod) ended up meeting in Prague and they were doing open shooting during daytime. It was chaotic and with a hostage named Claire, the mission became a lot more complicated with Six. In the end, the corruption that Charmichael did was never revealed with Six and Claire’s ending was still an open-ended question.

In this film, there are so many flaws and that it feels like the story is totally made up. I know it’s a fiction but a lot of fiction I’ve read at least is making quite a sense. First the open shooting in prague where people are present, “ how did that not make a headline?” I mean in this day and age, those type of shooting would make it everywhere. Second of all, it’s not so much of a gray man, where I thought Six would really know how to blend in. Another thing that I find just absurd was how he drove tuktuk from Bangkok to Chiang Mai, like how in the world the thai police doesn’t caught him :D. Bangkok to chiang mai is more than 10 hours by bus and even more by train. Can you imagine going by tuk tuk? What shown was it was late at night in Bangkok and then around midday the next day. From all the CIA operation movies I managed to watch, this one just made me left bewildered. I had quite expectations but everything felt just pure action and thrilled. It was a good amount of time I invested into watching it but it turned out to be so flop. The only thing that’s forgivable is the casts, who saved the movie from being a total disaster.

Lets start with the obvious, this is a mini series, this is not about John Wick (at least episode one) so don't expect to see anyone else related to John other than Winston, Charon and the hotel, other than this so far nothing else points to John Wick himself.

Been a three part mini series it feels kinda packed with a lot of information, specially the amount of characters, on episode one there are about a solid two digit amount of characters that are important to the development of the episode and they start to die very fast, different than other series that promise a lot of action right from the go The Continental did promise and deliver, there is a lot of shooting, car chase, Frankie robbed the hotel safe, there was a helicopter scene towards the end but I think they ran out of time to make a great scene out of it or probably budget, been on Peacock doesn't give me too much confidence on the series, also there are a few faces I have never seen although the actors were ok I got no complains, The Continental seem like a great idea for a full Tv Series but no body had the time, cast or money to develop it but some one didn't want to let the idea waste and gave it a shot with some what low budget, no disrespect to any of the actors its just how it feels.

The Continental is about Winston, after 20 years of not seen his brother Frankie, Winston is kidnap by Cormac (The Continental Manager) and send him back to US because his brother just stole something valuable for him and the organization (The High Table), Frankie stole and old coin press from the organization, now Cormac wants to use Winston as bait but he tries to outsmart him back to safe Frankie and his wife Yen.

Frankie is Winston older brother, since they were little got in trouble and Frankie was always there to protect him, latter down the line Frankie did time in jail taking the fall and letting Winston out of trouble but then Frankie's involvement with The Continental pulls Winston back.

Frankie work for Cormac, the same mobster that put them on the street after his father took a loan that latter on could not pay but down the road Frankie discover what was going on at The Continental, it was the 70's and different than the John Wick movies where everyone knows he is an assassin because we are watching the movie through his eyes, on The Continental is different, during the times of this mini series it was not known what The High Table was, they just knew The Continental could not be touch, even the cops knew this.

So far I'm not sure why Frankie thought it was a good idea and what was his goal at stealing this coin press, if you saw the movies then you know that on chapter four, John goes to middle east and talks to an Jerome Berrada who is in charge of making the coins so this coin press that Frankie steals is probably nothing else than a relic, he almost gets caught after his partner betray him.

Winston earn his life making business at London, big money, he is very smart and slick, always steps ahead of the people he is trying to make business with but had no clew what his brother has been doing back at home, New York, for the last twenty years.

Cormac, as mention the mobster now running The Continental, he is ruthless, will do anything to make others do his willing even killing themself, always has a leverage against others and this time he thinks that leverage against Frankie is his little brother Winston, he brings him from London to find Frankie, after all Cormac saw them grow up together and knows this two love each other even they cant live together as grown ups.

Fucking Peter Greene as Charlie, a man who knew Winston and Frankie since they were little, Peter Green was making films since I was a kid, appear in Pulp Fiction, he had a small part on this mini series but still did ok I think. He helps Winston, gave him a gun, a coat and his car, a mustang very similar to John's Mustang int he movies, also told Frankie was probably at a Karate Dojo, I will look because probably at some point Winston gave this car to John as gift, after all they were good friends.

Winston decides to visit the Dojo, Burton Karate, here he meet Miles and Lou, brothers who run the Dojo but there is no business with the Dojo, Miles use it as a cover for his guns traffic business, looks like Frankie was staying there for some time after he left. Winstons ask for their help to find Frankie before Cormac so Miles only told him what he knew, Miles and Frankie work together until he got to the hotel, Frankie was good with all kind of guns and probably good at killing people too.

There are other characters that are not develop yet, they will have more influence on episode two and three, she is The Adjudicator, most likely works for The High Table, on this scene she got the guy who betray Frankie, she is trying to extract information from him without much luck, over all not many people knew who this organization was, I think not even Cormac exactly new, I remember even Winston on Chapter for didn't know about certain rules and things that the Marquis could do.

There is also KD, she is investigating a criminal under the name of Francis Scott, she once chase him to The Continental but was stop by her boss Mayhew who she is fucking too, Mayhew knows better and stops her before she gets killed but she still want in so one day the guy at the door let her in, everyone on the hotel immediately knew she was not one of them, she notice how they pay with the coins, how everyone was packed even the receptionist was arm, it was not the type of hotel she was expecting, for sure she finds out something latter on that will involve her with Winston.

Wisnton finally finds Frankie and his girlfriend Yen, very vague Frankie explains him what is going on at the hotel, he is talking about The High Table but doesn't know much, same as the beginning this part of the episode is packed with shooting and close contact gun fight, but the ending I didn't like so much.

I'm going to talk about the ending of episode 1, I think this series over sold a story, everyone is probably going to watch The Continental thinking it had to do something with John right from the start and they will get the same kind of quality but its not, the ending of episode 1 same thing, we loose Frankie because he knows that if he doesn't let Winston and Yen go the end will be the same everyone dead, but WHY did he took the coin press? I think that made no sense, now that Frankie is gone him been the man of action, say the John Wick of the series who kills people with anything at hand, who is going to take that spot? , the first episode was NOT bad, I give it a 7.5/10 since it does has action as promise and it is related to the John Wick universe, lets see how the other two episodes develop and where does it takes us, I hope they are same or better than episode one. There were a few characters I didn't mention on my recap because they are not as important been episode one is always about presenting the main characters, their motives and where is the story going and episode 1 did all this very well.

From time to time, some movie directors manage to create long-lasting careers without necessarily having a long CV of good or great movies. John Carpenter is a classic example, because even though he has impactful movies to his credit that helped revolutionize horror cinema (such as Halloween), he is usually remembered for having directed some terrible films (which is why, in 2010, stepped aside as director).

However, the filmmaker's artistic streak spoke much louder and he decided to put an end to this hiatus and, soon (more precisely on October 13th), the television series Suburban Screams will hit the screens. The plot (which will have an anthological approach) is based on real crimes that were not solved by the police, and the script tells them through points narrated in fictional ways, focusing on bringing the public into the plots presented.

Although Carpenter only directs a single episode in the entire season, the weight of this connection for any television series is very important. The other role he played in this project (which seems promising) was composing new exclusive songs. In the plot, there is a mixture of many archive images, local news, interviews with announcers and also, some cinematographic reconstructions in order to reach new real dimensions.

The Peacock streaming channel will be responsible for showing this project. Even though it is something with a very limited projection in initial terms (because this type of more “independent” narrative does not usually please much when it comes to the audience, which is obviously very important for the streaming channel and the studios), the plot is relevant, mainly because it is based on real facts. I'm not too curious to watch it, but I will.

John Carpenter es un ejemplo clásico, porque si bien tiene en su haber películas impactantes que ayudaron a revolucionar el cine de terror (como Halloween), suele ser recordado por haber dirigido algunas películas terribles (razón por la cual, en 2010, se hizo a un lado como director).

Sin embargo, la vena artística del cineasta hablaba mucho más fuerte y decidió poner fin a este parón y, próximamente (más precisamente el 13 de octubre), llegará a las pantallas la serie de televisión Suburban Screams. La trama (que tendrá un enfoque antológico) se basa en crímenes reales que no fueron resueltos por la policía, y el guion los cuenta a través de puntos narrados de manera ficticia, enfocándose en acercar al público a las tramas presentadas.

Aunque Carpenter sólo dirige un único episodio en toda la temporada, el peso de esta conexión para cualquier serie de televisión es muy importante. El otro papel que jugó en este proyecto (que parece prometedor) fue el de componer nuevas canciones exclusivas. En la trama se mezclan muchas imágenes de archivo, noticias locales, entrevistas con locutores y también algunas reconstrucciones cinematográficas para alcanzar nuevas dimensiones reales.

El canal de streaming Peacock será el encargado de mostrar este proyecto. Si bien se trata de algo con una proyección muy limitada en términos iniciales (porque este tipo de narrativas más “independientes” no suelen agradar mucho a la audiencia, lo que evidentemente es muy importante para el canal de streaming y los estudios), la La trama es relevante, principalmente porque está basada en hechos reales. No tengo mucha curiosidad por verlo, pero lo haré.

John Carpenter é um exemplo clássico, porque mesmo tendo a seu favor filmes impactantes e que ajudaram a revolucionar o cinema de Horror (como por exemplo, Halloween), ele costuma ser lembrado por ter dirigido alguns péssimos filmes (motivo esse pelo qual, em 2010, se afastou da função de diretor).

No entanto, a veia artística do cineasta falou muito mais alto e ele decidiu colocar um fim nesse hiato e, em breve (mais precisamente no dia 13 de outubro), a série de televisão Suburban Screams chegará as telinhas. Na trama (que terá uma abordagem antológica) é baseada em crimes reais que não foram solucionados pela polícia, e o roteiro as conta através de pontos narrados de maneiras ficcionais, focando em trazer o público para dentro das tramas apresentadas.

Mesmo sendo algo com uma projeção muito limitada em termos iniciais (até porque este tipo de narrativa mais “independente” não costuma agradar muito quando o assunto é audiência, que obviamente é muito importante para o canal de streaming e para os estúdios), a trama tem relevância, principalmente pelo fato ser baseada em fatos reais. Não estou muito curioso para assisti-la, mas farei isso.

Fatal Attraction Episode 7 is probably the crown jewel and at the same time if you kept judging Alex this entire time probably it will make you feel bad about it, since day one anyone who saw the movie and knows the what this series is about already knew Alex was mentally ill in some level, I did and never like her, she in fact did terrible things but it was hard to know her real motive, goals and background, well on this episode we get a lot of her background. I remember on the first episodes Alex talking to a therapist that couldn't assist her since she had a valid license in California but insist on her looking for help, this therapist was Sarah.

Sarah was Alex therapist since she got out of College and probably prior to that stage of her life but its not describe on detail, this episode tells how a father that phytologically abuse of her, Alex father manipulate her, lie to her, lie to her mother, cheat on her mother with other women and trick Alex to be ok with that, even be her partner in crime assisting to this dates he had with other women but still making Alex feel it was ok to be like that, makes me fkn mad to see that picture, looking at him smile, I probably say that at this point in my life because I have been through worst and bad, after so many mess up I finally know what's good for me and my children but at some point in life you have to recognize how badly you did, Stanley: Alex father never did, even after she was dead. He was the cause of all her traumas, when Alex became older she started to realize how bad her father was but still love him so much she never took a side and opt for distance from him although never took a stand and say all he did was bad for her, I mean she was in between that line is he good or bad for me? to avoid this decision decided to move out to another state without telling him.

Alex started having episodes since she was in College, this kept her from been good at working with others, it feels like she always stay at the defense thinking people are going to betray her or put her aside, make her feel like she is a second option, at the same time kept looking at people over the shoulder, this is the reflection of how her father was with her and her mother, Alex was the second option for his father and was only important when he need her, he also look at everyone over the shoulder saying he was such a great engineer and how he was above every job post he found and that's why he was unemployed, its amazing how she even discover the love for pain after she spend an entire afternoon living her own reality for hours sitting down on the sofa after she had a very bad argument with her father, he really broke her through the years.

Probably by the time the movie came out in 1987 this type of stories were very few in real life but now days its very very close to what we know as reality, I still have one more episode to watch and still believe Dan didnt do it but he is going to jail, also that he love Beth and was willing to pay for his mistakes as a man and as a citizen, on this scene Beth thinks that the most obvious option to explain things out is the truth that Dan had an affair with Alex and she went crazy about him, not the entire story but as a lawyer he knew that will only bring public shame to his family and put him in jail for sure so he decided not to tell that story and safe Beth and his family from that circumstance as much as he could even knowing that he almost had no chance of not going to jail.

Stanley, Alex Father; really broke Alex and her mother to a point that they were competing for him, he broke the mother daughter bond, her mother should know better but that's the problem, I have always thought there are those who do bad because they dont know better, doesn't mean they are not accountable for their actions but thinking this way makes it useful to understand why things are happening certain way, he was constantly abusing from both, from Alex mom by not having a stable job and not been the leader of the house and from Alex making her his wing man at dates with other women even giving away her toys without her permission to kids from the women he was dating, both Alex and her mother love him very much and were blind by that love, confuse but there is nothing that can last for ever not even love when its hurt.

Sarah, Alex's Therapist; probably for the longest since she was in College, they don't specifically mention it but Sarah was good for Alex, she understood the problem was her father and told her many times, specifically mention it was a waist of time to fight him, Alex wont get anything useless out of him and I think that at her adult age she was not looking for love and attention anymore but for some kind of retribution, it was always a mix bag of feelings with Alex and her father, one day they love each other the other day kept fighting because he was not the center of attention until one day she decided to move away from him, move to California but sadly for Alex she stop seen a therapist, when someone is so broken like Alex she cant stop going to therapy, she needed help, those on her daily life routine don't know or understand her problems so she needed someone qualify to help her, worst part is that she could not recognize it, that's why didn't take her too long to cause troubles in California, with her neighbors, co workers and eventually with Dan.

Besides been a Alex episode, it has a bit of everything, one thing that caught my attention is that Ellen, Dan's daughter is spying on her teacher, at first I thought she did it because wanted to safe her friend Stella from been a second plate for her professor Richard but I don't think its the case anymore, there is just something going on that if there is not a second season we probably wont details.

Episode 7 does give the meat and potatoes of Dan's trial, he was put against the wall many times, without revealing he had an affair with Alex basically lying because excluding part of the truth can be consider lying, I'm no lawyer; for him was like fighting with his hands tied to his back, he tried everything but eventually knew he had to take it and go to prison for a crime he didn't do, within the justice system he was too big and failing was a big story, had so many against him that he had no chance, same thing happen when he appeal his case, the judge at the time told him he had received enough attention, basically she was not going to give him the luxury of proving he was innocent, sometimes that's how the system works.

On episode 7 we finally understand WHY Alex was broken, her childhood had a bunch of red flags, perfect combination of bad parenting

• Mom & Daughter jealous over father
• Father cheating with other women
• Mother blames daughter for not telling where is dad
• Father puts up his mistress daughter before Alex

It was just a matter of time before that kid start growing confuse of whats right and wrong, kids are so delicate mentally, they don't have the experience nor the malice to distinguish why her father in this case, behave that way and question if is is right or not, and finally when she grow up she fells his father is all she has, in this case he feels threatened that now grown up Alex will take the spot light out of him so he starts to diminish her accomplishments and decisions, she feels along, only person she loved and trust is not supporting her so when depression hits not everyone takes it the same way, she got affected badly to the point to seek refuge in pain for how bad she was feeling, after this episode I still don't like Alex but I start feeling sorry for her.

Faltando tan solo dos estrenos de películas basadas en comics, posiblemente el 2023 no es el mejor año para este género y es que a esta fecha, se han estrenado cinco películas y tan solo "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" y "Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse", las considero un éxito; ambas películas cumplieron en calidad y respondieron a todas las expectativas, cosa contraria a los otros films que no cumplieron y se convirtieron en un completo fracaso.

With only two comic book-based films still to be released, 2023 is probably not the best year for this genre, and as of this date, five films have been released and only "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" and "Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse" are considered a success; both films met the quality and expectations, contrary to the other films that did not meet and became a complete failure.

Posiblemente DC Studios y Warner Bros. Pictures, puedan considerar que son arriesgados a realizar un film basado en un héroe de comic que mundialmente no es tan conocido como otros, en mi opinión esto es cierto y hasta diré que el riesgo es el doble porque los las películas basadas en héroes de DC Comics no han tenido una gran aceptación en las salas de cine, pero creo que se presentó está oportunidad de relatar la historia de "Jaime Reyes", un hombre joven de descendencia mexicana, quien regresa con su familia a su ciudad natal, "PalmeraCity", después de graduarse de Abogado en Ghotam University; esa felicidad que comparte con quién más ama será breve porque económicamente su familia no está en el mejor momento y eso le hará tomar cualquier trabajo para ayudarles, pero el destino hará que se presente una oportunidad, una que le hará conectar con un artefacto fuera de este mundo y le dará poderes sobrenaturales, pero también le causará muchos problemas tanto a él como su familia, eso hará que Jaime acepte su nuevo destino y se convierta en un inesperado héroe conocido como "Blue Beetle".

Possibly DC Studios and Warner Bros. Esta nueva película de DC Studios la cual no es todavía claro si es parte del (extinto) DCEU o del (nuevo) DCU, fue dirigida por Ángel Manuel Soto, director latino quien cuenta con tres largometrajes dirigidos en su carrera; en esta oportunidad trata de ser un trabajo correcto, pero la realidad es que es muy simple; decido usar esa palabra para definir su desempeño en esta producción porque clasificarla de mala sería algo exagerado; creo que Soto es víctima del poco presupuesto, de ideas repetitivas al momento de realizar ciertas escenas de acción, de la mala promoción al mostrar en el trailer las "mejores" escenas, tanto de comedia como de acción, pero creo que lo que menos me gustó es lo poco arriesgado de realizar algo diferente o que sea considerado como bueno.

La historia es muy confusa y hasta creo que muy mal estructurada o desarrollada; recordemos que este héroe no es muy conocido y está película aparte de introducir a Jaime Reyes como "Blue Beetle", hace un breve referencia a lo que es el escarabajo fuera de este mundo; personalmente considero un error el de guardar información para una futura secuela, una que posiblemente nunca se realice y eso hace que justamente está película sea algo confusa, pero hay otros aspectos que el guion no sea bueno; uno de esos es poco protagonismo de Jaime, el tema principal de este tipo de historias es los motivos del héroe y en mi opinión eso no sucede en esta historia, el protagonismo de Jaime es minimizado por su familia y otro personaje y eso hizo que nunca conectara con el personaje principal; ahora, puede considerarse contradictorio, pero lo único que destaco de lo referente a Jaime y su familia, es justamente los rasgos, el trato, la manera de ser de la familia latina, hay muchas cosas que pude sentir referenciado y posiblemente eso es lo poco positivo de esta película.

This new DC Studios movie, which is not yet clear if it is part of the (defunct) DCEU or the (new) DCU, was directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, a Latino director who has directed three feature films in his career; this time it tries to be a correct work, but the reality is that it is very simple; I decide to use that word to define his performance in this production because classifying it as bad would be an exaggeration; I think that Soto is a victim of low budget, repetitive ideas at the time of making certain action scenes, bad promotion by showing in the trailer the "best" scenes, both comedy and action, but I think what I liked the least is the lack of risk to do something different or to be considered as good.

The story is very confusing and even I think very poorly structured or developed; remember that this hero is not well known and this film apart from introducing Jaime Reyes as "Blue Beetle", makes a brief reference to what is the beetle out of this world; personally I consider a mistake to save information for a future sequel, one that may never be made and that makes just this film is somewhat confusing, but there are other aspects that the script is not good; One of those is the little protagonism of Jaime, the main theme of this type of stories is the motives of the hero and in my opinion that does not happen in this story, the protagonism of Jaime is minimized by his family and another character and that made him never connect with the main character; now, it can be considered contradictory, but the only thing I highlight about Jaime and his family, is precisely the features, the treatment, the way of being of the Latino family, there are many things that I could feel referenced and possibly that is the little positive of this film.

Otro aspecto negativo es las actuaciones, comenzaré con la que considero la peor actuación del film y es la de Susan Sarandon como "Victoria Kord", sus motivos son muy banales, aburridos, no hay nada que la califique como una buena villana y posiblemente la causa de eso sea su poco tiempo en escena, pero para alguien con tan experiencia, debería hacer algo más; otro actor que se vio perjudicado por el tiempo en escena es Xolo Maridueña, nunca vi un héroe que no presente un conflicto en convertirse inesperadamente en alguien poderoso, no lo hay, no existe un buen desarrollo de un motivo para que Jaime se convierta en realidad en Blue Beetle y es que siempre está opacado por su familia o por "Jenny Kord" Interpretado por Bruna Marquezine, en mi opinión la historia se relata en mayor parte desde su punto de vista, ella tiene verdaderos motivos para convertirse en un héroe y al final lo es, no diré que es la mejor actuación, pero su personaje es creo que el mejor escrito; ahora la mejor actuación y esto lo digo porque cumple con el rol escrito, es para George Lopez quien interpreta a "Rudy Reyes", este experimentado comediante si usa de su tiempo en escena para dar vida al personaje que más me ha gustado; momentos cómicos, momentos en que es amigo y otros en dónde cumple como figura paternal, creo que eso es lo que más me ha gustado porque la actuación de López es convincente.

Siendo (aún más) sincero, "Blue Beetle" no es un buen film, es un milagro que haya recaudado más del costo de producción y creo que todavía faltan otros países en dónde se debe estrenar y posiblemente pueda recaudar algo más; es una película decepcionante en el desarrollo de lo que debe ser un nuevo héroe, es una fallida introducción al personaje, las escenas de acción se ven en el tráiler y posiblemente tenga junto a "Quantumania", el peor villano en un film basado en comics, lo único que encontré positivo fue la breve comedia y los rasgos de la familia latina que funciona notablemente en esta película, no critico que se le dé importancia al aspecto familiar, eso me gustó mucho porque me hizo recordar a mi familia, lo que crítico es que Jaime no se nota como el factor importante de la familia, no se nota como el protagonista de la historia, eso debió ser lo más relevante de este film el cual es el primero que se realiza de este personaje. Creo que sin importar a qué universo pertenezca Blue Beetle, creo que pasará mucho tiempo para que nuevamente regrese a las salas de cine, en mi opinión este fue el debut y despedida de este personaje, otra producción con buen potencial, pero muy mal usado.

Being (even more) sincere, "Blue Beetle" is not a good film, it is a miracle that it has grossed more than the production cost and I think it is still missing other countries where it should be released and it could possibly gross something more; it is a disappointing film in the development of what should be a new hero, it is a failed introduction to the character, the action scenes are seen in the trailer and possibly has along with "Quantumania", the worst villain in a film based on comics, the only thing I found positive was the brief comedy and the features of the Latino family that works remarkably in this film, I don't criticize the importance given to the family aspect, I liked that a lot because it reminded me of my family, what I criticize is that Jaime is not noticed as the important factor of the family, he is not noticed as the main character of the story, that should have been the most relevant of this film which is the first one made of this character. I think that no matter what universe Blue Beetle belongs to, I think it will be a long time before he returns to theaters again, in my opinion this was the debut and farewell of this character, another production with good potential, but very badly used.

Episode 8, Legacy, puts an end to the mini series A Small Light, I really enjoy it, the cast and production was awesome with stars like Liev Schreiber, Ian McElhinney the ones I recognize but Bel Powley doing Miep was the star of the show, she was awesome been funny and such a good friend to the Frank's, so loyal always giving the extra mile to the point of constantly putting her life on the line for her friends, now days is very rare to see those qualities on a friend. I'm not going to pretend I know much about World War II or any other war but I have learn a few things from this series, for the most part is a very moving series and Episode 8 in my opinion is the one that will bring some tears out, I cant imagine Mr. Frank's suffering after loosing everyone and everything, his friends and family who stayed hiding with him for over two years, from the series perspective they were arrested very close to the end of the war between two to six months, but at the time just getting arrested was a death sentence, the Frank's and friends were all send to different camps, probably lucky for many didn't have to suffer as long as others that were caught earlier and end up surviving but still that short time was enough to take everything from Mr. Frank, even though it was probably less than a year he lost his entire family, ironically he was the head of the house and did everything he could to keep safe his wife and daughters but end up loosing them and he survive.

Miep stay in front of the business in Mr. Frank absence, so she was not even a good friend but also a loyal employee, she was once told to sell the business, she didn't owe anything to Mr. Frank but she didn't and kept pushing, even though there were times when she loose all hope she keep bring it back and kept saying some day they will return home, this episode is mostly about Miep but also is a combination of many people who ran away from the city hiding in the countryside, many who after the ware recognize Jan as the guy who safe them, safe their children and family, he did felt like a hero but he went through rough times too, close to the end of the war the city was in lock down by the remaining German Officers who were taking all Dutch man to work camps so now Miep was the only one going out, she was in charge of bringing food to the table since Jan couldn't even go out, the worst part of such situation is not knowing when its going to end.

Episode 8 of A Small Light starts with Miep at the German's HQ, she tries to bribe German Officer Karl Silberbauer after he took the Frank's but even though he wanted since the moment he arrested them he knew there was nothing he could do to stop it since there were other officers present, there was not much to bribe them all, during those times if he get caught trying to let them go most likely he would get killed and probably on the spot, when Miep confront him another officer probably with higher rank ask him to hurry up the paper work, Officer Kurt, Miep tried to go over Karl but it end up worst for her, Kurt took the money and ask officers to throw her out of the building, at that moment Miep understood there was nothing she could do about it, from that moment she start living just with the hope one day the would come back home alive.

The book is very famous for bringing the memories of Anne Frank, the series brings a more graphic explanation of this, during the entire series Anne kept telling Miep all her dreams and plans she had, goals she wanted to achieve once they war was over and they go out again, for Anne getting caught was never an option, Miep was aware of all this and broke her heart when she went back into the room they were staying and say Anne's diary all over the floor, she pick up all the remaining sheets and so other books of her, all Anne's memories, during the war citizens where told to collect letters and safe them as those will be the memories of many who didn't make it.

Close to the end of the war things got very very tight, there was no food, no money and mostly women and old men were aloud to go out, Germans who remain in the city were taking all Dutch men to working camps, Germans knew they were about to loose the war so they were doing what ever they could to grasp as much as they could, for some who got arrested close to the end they were lucky enough to survive and not suffer for much time, in the case of Jan and Miep they stay together through all this time, that says a lot from both and Miep was now the head of the house, on the series they were always together, had a few arguments but always together during good and bad times, like on this picture they almost had nothing to eat and no wood for the fire, they had to brake a chair to make fire.

Not all heroes wear capes, Jan and Miep became war heroes, not everyone knew but Jan work with the resistance at first to help Miep and the Franks but latter on end up saving a lot of people, sneaking kids out of the city to the country side, when the war was over looks like a good amount of people recognize him on the streets, at least if it was two or three he must have felt very proud same for Miep, what they did for others was an act of heroism, putting their life on the lines for those who didn't have a voice and could not defend themselves.

The train lines were reactivated and those that were taken as prisoners out of the city start coming back home, some like Mr. Frank lost everything including their houses, at first he still had hope his daughters and wife would come back, visit their apartment now occupied by a young couple, he didn't ask for his apartment back but only to let his family know he is with Miep in case they come back but one day the answer to his questions arrive, Jan, Miep and the other employees at the office start sending letters and putting up signs looking for the girls and Mrs. Frank until a women who knew them form the working camps arrive and let her know they didn't make it, this was probably the worst moment of the episode, it was the end of a long wait, not the answer they were looking for but at least their suspense and suffering ended on that moment.

Miep and Jan had a kid called Paul, Mr. Frank stay close to them, he probably move out to another place but they always stay together until his last day alive, Miep lived until she was a hundred years old, Miep was a women who was blessed, she went through all this experiences and had the strength to live for so long, proud, telling her stories of war, how an ordinary secretary did everything she could to safe his friends and family, for Miep nationality or beliefs didn't mean anything, it was about the quality of the of the person, even when someone was not of her liking she still was fair to everyone, even with German Officer Karl she felt how he knew it was not right what he was doing when he raid Mr. Frank office and arrest them, trust others during the war was hard but she always had this sense to identify those telling the truth and been fair.

This is the first time I see Tom Holland performing out of the Spiderman suit, as other actors who work a franchise, that is Spiderman; he had made a ton of money out of it and would be great to see him performing different characters, I had no interest on Uncharted but have seen him on The Devil All The Time and Cherry, now on The Crowded Room, I like his work, doesn't seem force and the awkward different kid role suits him very well.

On episode two after Danny gets caught by the police he is now interrogated by Rya, a psychiatrist directing the interrogation for the police, the story starts to unfold, Danny starts to describe Ariana his roommate and partner in crime since the police have not got to her after the shooting, she was a wild one, the story develops around the 70's with a lot of drugs, disco music and she was a creature of the night, always leaving home at night to party and arriving early in the morning, drunk, crying, she was very unstable and some how got Danny sucked into her world. Rya tries to pressure Danny to tell her more about Ariana, on that same roadmap is Yitzhak they are after him too, probably because they think there is more than the shooting but they know Danny was just a tool for Ariana and Yitzhak, Danny still doesn't break or at least seem to do not know what was really going on but he also haven't finish his side of the story, why they really try to kill that guy? where was Yitzhak all the time? what was Ariana hiding that disturbs her so much? those are the questions Rya is after.

Rya starts doing some police work and goes back where everything started, The Ghost House, where Yitzhak, Ariana and Danny where staying, she thought she might find something useful in there, something that can she can use with Danny to dig up the truth or least show him he was all wrong thinking he was friends with Yitzhak and Ariana and he was just been used or at least that's the impression I get from Rya. In the house she finds Danny drawing book, this was the 70's, no internet, no cell phones, so people had to do common things to stay entertained, Danny's was to draw things he think a lot about.

Danny confronts his step father after him and Danny's mother came looking for him, after Danny got beat up by Bill he didn't know what to do and stay with Yitzhak but he was sure didn't want to go back home and deal with his bully step father so he stay, Yitzhak protect him, Danny felt safe, he was just a kid, with troubles at home and school, someone new, someone he felt safe with make sense but he didn't know better, Danny was the kind of kid who trusted everyone. Danny explains all this to Rya but she wanted more, I know for a fact when you are a kid and had that many troubles sometimes you act irrational, not everything you do has a meaning or a reason you just do you, most of the time you don't think and don't know better, that's why when we are teenagers do stupid things that regret after, so when adults ask WHY? you don't know what to answer because you don't know why.

Yitzhak was always out so Ariana and Danny where alone at the house for the most part, the first day he aloud Danny stay he lay down the house rules for him:

Ariana, the first time Danny met her she was kind with him and offer him food so she must be a good person right? that's what probably Danny thought, he had this innocent expression in his face when she gave him a sandwich, like how nice of her.

Things turn out different next day, she always came home early in the morning, drunk, high, crying, and when Danny offer her comfort all he got back was a "Fuck off Danny", but Danny thought they got well together like they understood each other without even talking, at least on his head, that's how Danny explains his relationship with Ariana to Rya.

Rya kept setting traps trying to get Danny to slip and tell her what she is looking for, but Danny again either didn't know shit and was been used or at the end he is going to be this psychopath who no one never saw coming because saw far all his answers are I don't remember, I don't know or everyone is nice to me.

There was this girl Annabelle, Danny was crazy for her and would do anything to be with her even braking house rules, everything that Yitzhak said was prohibit he almost did that night without the sex, worst part is that Ariana stole Annabelle from him that night with the excuse that she was drunk, Rya was right about that, Danny kept thinking Ariana was his friend when she wasn't, Ariana was a selfish bitch who only care about herself, there was nothing to understand about her.

To close with Ariana, her erratic behavior was not only with Danny but to everyone else, she was constantly trying to be someone she was not, trying to show she always was the one in control even with Jerome a guy she date but only at the disco, when the party was over she try to pretend she was someone else.

Rya kept pushing this narrative to Danny and finally he show more than his calm attitude and snap when Rya told him "what are you not telling yourself?" , he either got tired of her constant pressure for him to talk or say something he doesn't know or there was a trigger point between Yitzhak getting rid of Ariana and Danny hiding the facts, the interview gets intense.

This is a series I'm picking up from June, a mini series with a lot of character, we got this kid Danny, confused, looked innocent, but at the same time could be a monster beneath that calm face, Ariana we already got clear who she was but what keeps me thinking is who are really Ytizhak and Danny, what are their agendas, who is the bad guy, there is a lot of mystery around Yitzhak. i got no complains about the actors, most of them are very well known for different performances Spiderman, Fauda, Shameless, Loki, Mr. Robot, The Dropout and the list goes on, the case is very good plus the story itself develop with Danny interview creating the entire structure of the story gives the viewer easy access to knowing whats going on without having to revisit scenes, having to pause and rewind.

Don’t be fooled by the overall low rating.

When you’re googling this series, you will see that it has a horrible rating. It’s not because this South Korean drama is bad but it was because Indonesian netizen was being petty after the country was presented in a bad light according to them. It was few minutes of it but pretty damaging for this series itself.

Racket Boy is a South Korean coming of age series released back in 2021. It centers around the story of a badminton coach with badminton athletes from the rural side of Haenam. These young athletes dreamed of competing in the national junior athletic competition. While chasing their dream, they overcome various challenges and struggles. As well as this, we're given a backdrop of Haenam village that has low occupancy and the struggle of its various inhabitants from a couple who recently moved from Seoul to Haenam. To an elderly couple who loved their grandson and wanted to connect with the younger generation.

There are mainly five characters, especially the athlete from Haenam Seo Middle School’s Badminton Club. All of them throughout the series undergoes character development that was well-paced. The characters are endearing in its own way and watching this series was quite a comfort. This series teaches you so much about failure and how to be fine with it.

This series has 16 episodes but even after it is all finished and the boys eventually went to high school, it makes you want to follow their journey even more. All of them were strangers who then became best friends and overcame their fears and challenges together. From this series,you will also learn that Badminton isn’t as popular as football. Even so, there are athletes and people who devote their lives to it and are pretty enthusiastic about it.

When I watched the controversial episode, I didn't think there was anything wrong at all. They were speaking out loud of things that probably shouldn’t and the criticism was valid. Although I have to say that Indonesian netizens aren’t known to be polite online. So, they were treading on thin ice. I am sure that it was an expensive lesson for them.

Other than particularly controversial episodes, the overall series was fun to watch, comforting and it can evoke a certain nostalgia. Not to mention, potentially convincing you that living in the country isn’t bad at all. Personally, it’s one of my most comforting series lately apart from Hospital Playlist. This is available on netflix and I personally would give it 6 out of 10. Whenever you have spare 16 hours, it’s a must-watch!
