RRR is probably the longest Epic movie I’ve watched in recent years. Running for 3 hours recounting the tale of Komaram Bheem and A. Rama Raju, two revolutionary leaders from India during the British Raj/British occupation. Though the story is fiction, since it’s based on two famous leaders in the country, this movie is quite intriguing to watch. Tollywood or Telugu based film is known for its exaggeration and special effects on its movie that sometimes just lack coherence and are hard to grasp. Its effect is often a subject of memes as well. I certainly was expecting from RRR and I was right. Throughout the movie,the effect is quite exaggerated but the story and how the narration evolved was quite captivating. Unrelated to the movie, I was also watching it just a day after India’s independence. So, watching RRR was quite a refresh of knowledge about the British colonization. This film also receives numerous awards and is fairly well accepted worldwide. One that I found intriguing was the song Naatu Naatu because when I was traveling, people were talking about that and I was the only one who was unaware of it. Apparently, that song is the first Indian song to win an Oscar. If you have not watched it, without further adieu, let me show you what the movie is all about!

Governor Scott Buxton and his wife Catherine visited the forest where Gonds tribe resides. Buxton was a governor during the British raj and while he was out hunting, Catherine’s was receiving a henna hand painting by Malli, a young girl from Gond tribe. Pleased with the result of the hand painting, Catherine wanted to bring Malli to the city and leave the tribe. Their aide, Edward, throws a few coins on the ground while the rest of the tribe thinking that it was a gift for them apparently, later they realized it was the payment for Malli to be brought to the governor’s house. Running to chase Malli, her mother was later injured by one of Scott’s soldiers and Scott expressed a view that the tribe was equal to an animal and not a human. Enraged with the situation that occurred in his tribe, the guardian of Gond,Komaram Bheem(N. T. Rama Rao Jr. ) decided to go to the city and disguise himself as a muslim man.

In the city, an ambitious police man, A. Rama Raju (Ram Charan ) was trying to climb his way up but was constantly failing just because he was not a british. At the same time while Komaran Bheem was becoming a potential threat to the governor, a bounty was made to discover Bheem. Nobody was willing to chase him until Raju stepped up. However, while searching for Bheem, Raju befriended Akhtar, who is actually Bheem in disguise. As they bonded over friendship, it was inevitable that they were from two opposing sides. Later on, Raju realized the true identity of Akhtar. One night while there was a reception at Governor’s Scott’s place, Bheem and the other members of the tribe ambushed the place with wild animals injuring a lot of soldiers. At this point, Bheem and Raju got into a one-on-one fight. Eventually Bheem was captured and Raju got a promotion. Inside the weaponry that belongs to the British, Raju recalled the promise that he held to his father. He wanted to give his tribe weapons to fight the British and while getting closer to his goal,he was required to choose his friendship or his promise that he made to his father and his tribe.

In my opinion, this film has a solid story with quite intriguing visual effects. The scene of the fights and even the angle were quite good. No wonder that this film received quite a few awards. The story hooks you for 3 hours and though the pacing is a lot slower, it’s something expected from Tollywood where there’ll be a dance and musical throughout it. I took a 5 minute break after 2 hours to stretch and continued watching it. The fight scenes were the ones I enjoyed from this film and also the part where the animals were unleashed to fight off the British soldiers. I would definitely recommend this movie to watch at least once in a lifetime. Compared to all Tollywood, this is definitely on top of the list other than bahubali. I would also rate it 6.5 out of 10.

The Age of Slavery

Times have changed, the world has changed, although in some parts, not entirely, this growing ideology, this thinking, this rejection, mistreatment and racism, still remains, whether you are black or white, rich or poor, or of another nationality, this discrimination still holds, as the years go by.

Los tiempos han cambiado, el mundo ha cambiado, aunque en algunas partes, no del todo, esta creciente ideología, ese pensar, ese rechazo, maltrato y racismo, aún se mantiene, seas blanco o negro, rico o pobre, o de otra nacionalidad, esa discriminación, aún se sostiene, asi pasen los años.

How to remember those stories, that we read in books, and saw in movies, about racism, slavery, rejection towards people of another colour, making them less, humiliating them, abusing them, as if they were not worth, as if they didn't matter, a time, where these people, had to find a way to survive, in that world of rejection, abuse and violence.

Based on real events, and released in 2014, 12 Years of Slavery, is the name of this film, where we see the life of a black man, being taken from his hometown, and sent to the other side where slavery was still maintained, to be sold as such, this was a great shock for him, since he was a cultured, educated man, a musician, and therefore he was forced to be taken away from everything he always knew, to submit to a life full of violence, abuse, humiliation, impotence, among others.

Solomon Northup, is the name of this man, who through this film, tells us and shows us in some way everything he lived, suffered and endured, 12 years, being treated as a slave, working for a cruel man, forcing him to work at all hours, without mercy, treating him like another slave.

A story that shows us the cruelty of the human being, the indolence, the brutality in all its letters, just because they wanted to, they took advantage of their status, to belittle the weakest, in this case those African-American people, humble, without money or anyone to defend or support them.

Moments of pain, anguish, desperation, impotence, suffering, misery, is what is reflected in this story, a man who in spite of all that he had to live, far from his family, his wife, his children, fought until he could not, to survive, to stay on his feet, with the dream, the illusion of one day being reunited with his family, and to get out of that hell in which he was.

It is a very strong story, and as I said cruel, in every sense, we see scenes that traumatise, disturb, those tortures, both to women and children, that mistreatment, the beatings, the whippings to which they were subjected, without mercy, without compassion, and to which this man was forced to commit, just to survive, because this was the world in which he lived.

Undoubtedly this film, left nothing to hide, showing at that time as was slavery, as were the Americans, but is there any truth in all this, as I said this is something that they show us on screen, as based on real stories, but we know that in the cinema, always tends to hide or show what they want and it suits them.

The time of slavery, was the worst of all times, this cruelty, inhumanity, to which people of colour were subjected, has no name; before the eyes of God, we are all equal, it is here where one wonders, who created this, who invented all this discrimination, this ideology, this evil, only man.

But they say that there are more of us who are good, we must be good, and although there is still a lot of evil in this world, there are people who seek to do good, and that is why this man, in the end, managed to obtain his freedom.

We cannot leave aside the great performances we see in this film, starting with the remembered actor Chiwetel Ejiofor, playing the role of Solomon; here we see a man with a lot of pain, rage, but at the same time strength, to survive, and get ahead, staying alive, despite everything.

On the other hand, we have the actor Michael Fassbender, playing the role of that cruel, arrogant, psychotic, stubborn man, who mistreated and abused the slaves, believing that they were his property, considering himself their lord and master.

Along with them, we will see another list of great actors, who also gave life to other characters, who in some way helped and influenced Solomon's life.

12 Years of Slavery, is a film worth watching, those stories that leave you that bitter taste of the past, they mark you and show you that other side of the human being, when greed, selfishness, takes over you, without caring about anything or anyone, without thinking about the damage you cause, only about your own benefit.

And in turn the will to live, despite all the conditions you have, the desire to be free, to be with your loved ones, enduring everything that comes your way, with the sole objective of fulfilling your dreams, to continue surviving, to show the world that you can handle anything.

A film, which had a good direction, scenography and performances, dramatic, real, full of many emotions, if you have not seen it, I hope you do, share with us what you thought, if you like this kind of story.

Hello friends! Today I bring you the review of the second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty. I did the review of the first season last year, I leave it here so you can read it if you want.

Trama - Plot

En esta segunda temporada seguimos con los problemas y dramas adolescentes. Sin Susannah les resulta difícil a los personajes seguir unidos como siempre lo fueron, sobre todo ahora que las cosas con Belly y los hermanos Fisher están complicadas. Los problemas no se hacen esperar al enterarse de que van a perder la casa de verano a manos de la hermana de su madre que decide ponerla en venta. Los chicos: Conrad, Jeremiah, Belly, Steve, Taylor y Sky, la hija de la hermana de Susannah, intentarán impedirlo y para ello deben dejar atrás las asperezas y comenzar a trabajar en equipo para lograr su objetivo.

In this second season we continue with the teenage problems and dramas. Without Susannah it is difficult for the characters to remain united as they always were, especially now that things with Belly and the Fisher brothers are complicated. Trouble is not long in coming when they learn that they are going to lose their summer house to their mother's sister who decides to put it up for sale. The boys: Conrad, Jeremiah, Belly, Steve, Taylor and Sky, Susannah's sister's daughter, will try to prevent it and to do so they must leave the rough edges behind and start working as a team to achieve their goal.

Reseña - Review

La serie sigue siendo adictiva, pero se me hizo chocante en cierto punto por todos los dramas evitables con los que se enredan los personajes. Pero esa es la maravilla de los años adolescentes, uno comete muchas estupideces de las que después se arrepiente, o quizá no.

The series is still addictive, but it became shocking to me at a certain point because of all the avoidable drama the characters get entangled with. But that's the wonder of the teenage years, you do a lot of stupid things that you later regret, or maybe not.

Aunque no me gusta la actitud de la protagonista esta temporada. Siento algo personal con ella, y ya se que es un personaje de ficción y está escrito así, pero me gustaría que sepa que hay más chicos en el mundo aparte de los hermanos. Que ya estaría bueno que LOS DEJE EN PAZ. Al pobre de Conrad no le dieron ni un respiro en toda la serie, desde la primera temporada que viene sufriendo. Va de un lado para el otro. Es una serie que me terminó enojando, como verán jajaja, pero les juro que no puedo dejar de consumirla, es curioso. Tiene un enganche potente.

I don't like the attitude of the main character this season though. I feel something personal with her, and I know she's a fictional character and it's written that way, but I'd like her to know that there are more kids in the world besides the brothers. That it would be nice if she would LEAVE THEM ALONE. Poor Conrad hasn't been given a break in the whole series, he's been suffering since the first season. He goes from one side to the other. It's a series that ended up pissing me off, as you'll see hahaha, but I swear I can't stop watching it, it's funny. It has a powerful hook.

Algo que me parece una maravilla de esta serie es la musicalización, está todo muy calculado, se las arregla para meter temas y artistas del momento. Esta segunda temporada tuvo más canciones de Taylor Swift de las que pude haber imaginado y adoré cada momento en las que fueron utilizadas. Sobre todo aquel pequeño vistazo a lo que será Delicate Taylor's Version. Siempre digo que hay una canción de ella para cada momento de la vida y acá quedó más que demostrado. Sin embargo, también creo que se agarraron un poco de esto para generar curiosidad en los televidentes. El marketing fue bueno, eso sí, porque les salió bastante bien. 

Something that I think is a marvel of this series is the musicalization, it's all very calculated, they manage to put in songs and artists of the moment. This second season had more Taylor Swift songs than I could have imagined and I loved every moment they were used. Especially that little glimpse of what will be Delicate Taylor's Version. I always say there's a song of hers for every moment of life and here it was more than proven. However, I also think they took advantage of this to generate curiosity in the viewers. The marketing was good, that's for sure, because it worked out pretty well.

Hubo algún que otro golpe bajo con todo lo referente a Susannah en donde fue inevitable no derramar un par de lágrimas. De nuevo se puede ver la importancia y el valor de una buena amistad que esté ahí, en tus mejores y peores momentos. Siempre al pie del cañón.

There was the occasional low blow with everything about Susannah where it was inevitable not to shed a couple of tears. Again you can see the importance and value of a good friendship that is there, in your best and worst moments. Always at the bottom of the barrel.

Y bueno, todavía seguimos en el limbo del triángulo amoroso que ya se está tornando agotador, pero es parte de la trama y no nos liberaremos de ello hasta el final. No sé cómo se las van a ingeniar para arreglar esta hermandad que están destruyendo, así que solo queda fingir demencia y ver con qué nuevas cosas van a salir en las próximas temporadas. Igual estoy tan disgustada con Belly que cualquier escenario posible me va a saber mal. Espero equivocarme.

And well, we're still in love triangle limbo which is already getting exhausting, but it's part of the plot and we won't be free of it until the end. I don't know how they're going to manage to fix this sisterhood they're destroying, so we're just left to feign insanity and see what new stuff they're going to come up with in the next few seasons. I'm still so disgusted with Belly that any possible scenario is going to taste bad to me. I hope I'm wrong.

De las muchas películas de comedias que he visto, diré que mis gustos son por producciones en dónde se caracterizan por tener chistes tontos, comedia física, situaciones locas, algunas políticamente incorrectas, películas en su mayoría protagonizadas por hombres porque para estas historias, son lo que tiene la posibilidad de experimentar locuras; creo que es eso lo que me ha hecho ver pocas películas cómicas lideradas por mujeres, pero eso no ha evitado que las pocas películas que he visto, las considere malas, por ejemplo puedo nombrar "Scary Movie" y "The Sweetest Thing" como un claro ejemplo de films en dónde la comedia es física, con bromas asquerosas, situaciones extrañas, cómicas y exageradas, producciones con las características que me gustan ver en una comedia, protagonizadas por mujeres y justamente eso es lo que me impulsó de ver el film al que reseño en esta publicación.

Of the many comedy movies I have seen, I will say that the ones I like the most are productions where they are characterized by silly jokes, physical comedy, crazy situations, some politically incorrect, movies mostly starring men because for these stories, they are what has the possibility to experience craziness; I think that's what has made me see few comic films led by women, but that has not prevented that the few films I've seen, I consider them bad, for example I can name "Scary Movie" and "The Sweetest Thing" as a clear example of films where the comedy is physical, with gross jokes, strange, funny and exaggerated situations, productions with the characteristics that I like to see in a comedy, starring women and that's exactly what prompted me to see the film that I review in this publication.

"Joy Ride", es una comedia que relata la historia de "Audrey" y "Lolo"; que desde temprana edad forjan una gran amistad por el hecho de ser chinas; ambas amigas con personalidades diferentes, deben enfrentar ciertas situaciones, en especial Audrey que al ser adoptada por una pareja blanca, siente que no pertenece a ningun mundo, justamente es eso lo que motiva a Audrey de resaltar siempre en todo lo que hace porque necesita la aprobación de otros, cosa contraria que su amiga Lolo, que vive de una manera muy diferente, con poca responsabilidad y sin importar mucho del futuro; a pesar de sus diferencias, ambas se complementan muy bien y más cuando Audrey necesita del conocimiento de la cultura China que tiene Lolo en su viaje a China para cerrar un gran contrato del bufete de abogados en dónde ella trabaja; este viaje no será solo entre ellas dos porque las acompañaran "Kat Huang", amiga de la universidad de Audrey y "Deadeye", prima de Lolo; un viaje originalmente de negocios que se convertirá en una misión en descubrir el origen de Audrey y eso las hará experimentar situaciones cómicas e hilarantes.

"Joy Ride", is a comedy that tells the story of "Audrey" and "Lolo", who from an early age forge a great friendship because they are Chinese. Este film significó el estreno en la dirección de Adele Lim, quien es reconocida por ser la guionista de "Crazy Rich Asians" y "Raya and the Last Dragon"; nunca trato de ser breve con mi explicación del desempeño en la dirección de un film, pero en esta oportunidad debo serlo y es que no encontré nada destacable en el trabajo de Lim en su primera vez detrás de las cámaras; puedo decir que su función es correcta al cumplir en diferentes aspectos como realizar tomas explorando la perspectiva tanto de los personajes como de los espectadores; lo otro que considero correcto es en las escenas de comedia en dónde se nota influencia de otras producciones, cumple con clichés por ejemplo el uso de diferentes tomas rápidas en una o diferentes situaciones en dónde estén involucradas las cuatro protagonistas; en mi opinión no es lo más destacable del film.

El guion está escrito por Cherry Chevapravatdumrong y Teresa Hsiao; ambas escritoras son reconocidas por su trabajo en "Family Guy"; también debo decir que Hsiao también trabajo en la otra serie animada de Seth MacFarlane, "American Dad!" y en la serie "Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens"; estas dos mujeres crearon situaciones cómicas que me gustaron, hay varias en específico que son excelentes y en algunas escenas se nota la influencia de las series antes descrita, pero la historia en sí no es solo de comedia sino de representación de una cultura, en este caso, cultura China y de como es percibida para los Chinos-Americanos y por supuesto para los Chinos. Me gustó que se tome el tiempo en explorar un tema que seguro es recurrente en Estados Unidos sobre la adopción de niños asiáticos y todo lo referente a si es necesario explorar sus verdaderos orígenes; creo que la motivación principal para el desarrollo de la historia es lo mejor del film junto a varias situaciones cómicas las cuales están muy bien desarrolladas para cuando sea el momento del punch line impacten.

This film was the directorial debut of Adele Lim, who is known for being the screenwriter of "Crazy Rich Asians" and "Raya and the Last Dragon"; I never try to be brief with my explanation of the performance in the direction of a film, but in this opportunity I must be and I found nothing remarkable in the work of Lim in her first time behind the cameras; I can say that his role is correct in fulfilling different aspects such as making shots exploring the perspective of both the characters and the viewers; the other thing that I consider correct is in the comedy scenes where you can see the influence of other productions, he complies with clichés for example the use of different quick shots in one or different situations where the four protagonists are involved; in my opinion it is not the most remarkable of the film.

The script is written by Cherry Chevapravatdumrong and Teresa Hsiao; both writers are recognized for their work on "Family Guy"; I should also say that Hsiao also worked on Seth MacFarlane's other animated series, "American Dad!" and in the series "Awkwafina Is Nora from Queens"; these two women created comic situations that I liked, there are several in specific that are excellent and in some scenes you can notice the influence of the series described above, but the story itself is not only of comedy but of representation of a culture, in this case, Chinese culture and how it is perceived for Chinese-Americans and of course for Chinese people. I liked that it takes the time to explore a topic that I'm sure is recurrent in the United States about the adoption of Asian children and everything related to whether it is necessary to explore their true origins; I think the main motivation for the development of the story is the best of the film along with several comic situations which are very well developed for when it's time for the punch line to make an impact.

Las actuaciones son normales, no son para destacar y alabar a todas, me gustan como están creadas porque cada una de las cuatro protagonistas cumplen con el cliché de este tipo de historias, por ejemplo "Audrey", protagonista principal, Interpretada por Ashley Park, es una mujer profesional, hermosa, inteligente, pero al no encajar en ningún mundo le crea desconfianza en sí misma y no le hace avanzar, "Lolo" que en mi opinión debió ser mejor interpretada por Sherry Cola, creo que su personaje no fue escrito para ella, sino para Awkwafina y es que no dejaba de pensar que la actitud de su personaje estaba más orientado a lo que ha demostrado esa actriz en otras producciones, el personaje que menos me gustó de la película, lo otro fue que al estar Stephanie Hsu como "Kat", creo que no había necesidad de "Lola" y eso es debido a que Kat la opaca completamente, son muy parecidas y creo que ambas se pudo escribir e interpretar mejor; por último, mi personaje favorito, la mejor de las cuatro, "Deadeye" Interpretada por Sabrina Wu, en mi opinión y salvando las diferencias, ella es la versión femenina de "Alan", me hizo reír mucho, creo que es la que conecta a todo el grupo y de no esperar nada de su personaje, es la más importante de todas.

The performances are normal, they are not to highlight and praise them all, I like how they are created because each of the four protagonists are part of the cliché of this type of stories, for example "Audrey", main protagonist, Played by Ashley Park, is a professional, beautiful, intelligent woman, but not fitting in any world creates self-doubt and does not make her move forward, "Lolo" who in my opinion should have been better played by Sherry Cola, I think her character was not written for her, but for Awkwafina and I kept thinking that her character's attitude was more oriented to what that actress has shown in other productions, the character I liked the least in the movie, the other thing was that with Stephanie Hsu as "Kat", I think there was no need for "Lola" and that is because Kat completely overshadows her, they are very similar and I think both could have been written and interpreted better; finally, my favorite character, the best of the four, "Deadeye" Played by Sabrina Wu, in my opinion and saving the differences, she is the female version of "Alan", she made me laugh a lot, I think she is the one that connects the whole group and not to expect anything from her character, she is the most important of all.

A pesar de que "Joy Ride" no es el mejor film, ya que tiene varios fallos, como por ejemplo el definir los motivos o dar mejor desarrollo a algunas de sus protagonistas o el tener un mejor cierre, debo decir que me entretuvo bastante, me hizo reír con muchas de las ocurrencias de sus personajes y eso lo valoro mucho en una comedia; no es el hecho solamente de crear una sonrisa sino carcajadas y eso lo experimente al ver esta historia con buenos momentos cómicos, simples y sencillos y otros en dónde se ríe de lo referente a la cultura de una nación, de lo correcto políticamente que se ha convertido la sociedad, pero no es solamente la comedia, sino que demuestra sin ser imponente, lo referente al empoderamiento de la mujer, algo muy bien hecho en este film; también trata de muy buena manera temas como la adopción y la amistad lo cual me ha gustado y creo que en eso se hace un buen balance en la historia. Este es un film regular, pero entretenido y eso algunas veces no se percibe en muchas películas, por eso si quieren ver una historia corta, directa, divertida, recomiendo este "Road Movie" liderado por Mujeres.

Although "Joy Ride " is not the best film, as it has several flaws, such as defining the motives or giving better development to some of its protagonists or having a better closing, I must say that I was quite entertained, it made me laugh with many of the occurrences of its characters and I value that very much in a comedy; It is not only the fact of creating a smile but laughter and I experienced that when watching this story with good comic moments, simple and simple and others where it laughs about the culture of a nation, how politically correct society has become, but it is not only the comedy, but it shows without being imposing, the empowerment of women, something very well done in this film; it also deals very well with issues such as adoption and friendship which I liked and I think that makes a good balance in the story. This is a regular film, but entertaining and that sometimes is not perceived in many films, so if you want to see a short, direct, funny story, I recommend this "Road Movie" led by women.

From time to time, some dark secrets about Hollywood productions are discovered. The most recent (and currently most talked about) of them is surrounding a movie that was a real success among the public and also among specialized critics: The Blind Side. In the plot, Michael Oher is a young black man, poor and with no better prospects in life, who is adopted by the wealthy Tuohy family, and encouraged to become a football player.

Sandra Bullock won an Oscar for Best Actress for her portrayal of Leigh Anne Tuohy, and the movie had a huge impact in many places around the world. After so much success, Michael Oher decided to go public and expose the hoaxes that were told in the movie. Everyone knows (or should know) that no script based on true events is, in fact, completely faithful to the original events. However, things seem to be a bit more complex.

In the case of this script, art did not imitate life. According to the player himself, the family did not actually adopt him. They were just his tutors and responsible for managing his career for a period of time, where a lot of money was a great reality. However, the scales seem not to have balanced well, and the Tuohy family ended up earning much more money than Oher, not to mention other controversies that are still hidden under the rug.

It makes me wonder how many other movies based on true events (including around the world) still have their true stories hidden in the darker side of life as it is. A really sad situation, which shows how the essence of human beings can really be much more complicated than we can imagine and also, about how far the interests of the big studios go in profiting from these "moving plots".

El más reciente (y del que más se habla actualmente) de ellos gira en torno a una película que fue un auténtico éxito de público y también de crítica especializada: The Blind Side: Un sueño posible. En la trama, Michael Oher es un joven negro, pobre y sin mejores perspectivas de vida, que es adoptado por la acaudalada familia Tuohy y animado a convertirse en jugador de fútbol.

O mais recente (e mais comentado atualmente) deles está cercando um filme que foi um verdadeiro sucesso entre o público e também entre os críticos especializados: Um Sonho Possível. Na trama, Michael Oher é um jovem negro, pobre e sem melhores perspectivas de vida que é adotado pela rica família Tuohy, e encorajado a se tornar um jogador de futebol americano.

Sandra Bullock ganhou um Oscar de Melhor Atriz por interpretar Leigh Anne Tuohy, e o filme teve uma repercussão de grande impacto em muitos lugares do mundo. Depois de tanto sucesso, Michael Oher decidiu vir a público e expor as farsas que foram contadas no filme. Yesterday I had the good fortune to see a movie recommended by my sister, I simply wasn't expecting anything specific and I had no knowledge that there was a background, like what I was seeing wasn't original but a remake of an old work but I simply didn't give it much importance and I proceeded to watch the new version. Since I like sports it wasn't going to be very complicated to capture my attention and more if I had seen a few clips on Tiktok giving rise to the fact that I had knowledge about the aesthetics and that I knew a little about what the movie was going to be about, although the latter is perhaps a lie, I didn't hit the plot as such, I found something more than basketball games or maybe I'm exaggerating a little, because as you see the movie it becomes obviously predictable by the way of acting and how the plot is told. Yes, I saw that they qualify the movie as a comedy but there are very few jokes that are funny or maybe they're not funny to me because I'm not American, who knows. Anyway, I liked the subject that he wants to deal with and how he does it, I could say that easily White Men Can't Jump, kept me entertained for a good hour, without a doubt. Without further ado, let's talk a little about this curious movie that I didn't know about and probably see the original version later, let's start.

The movie tells the story of two characters, Jeremy a former basketball player whose career fell into the abyss because of injuries in his two legs which he has to support through medication and Jamal who was a prodigy for basketball about to be selected for the NBA draft but because of his anger problems that are unleashed when mentioning something about his family problems he lost the opportunity to hit a person from the public, ending up some time in prison. These two characters will meet in a gym, where Jeremy will provoke Jamal and they will bet on five shots, Jeremy winning the bet thanks to his provocations. When economic problems arise in Jamal's life, he sees the opportunity to make money by scamming people along with Jeremy, because of his appearance it was very unlikely that anyone would know that he can play basketball well, in addition to being white. Jeremy will only accept because he sees the hope of recovering his two legs through stem cells but sooner or later the movie will put our protagonists in their place, making them worry more about their families than themselves, in the process creating a great chemistry between them and learning from the differences of one and the other. A plot that easily hooks you for its simplicity when it comes to being told.

Despite having read certain criticisms around that say that the chemistry between these two characters is null, I think the opposite. It's seen how, as they get to know each other more and more, they start to take on the skills of the other, although it's Jamal who ends up learning more from Jeremy, who is seen as a calm and even hippie-like guy throughout the movie, who knows how to keep calm at all times and consumes some herbal medicine, like drinking turmeric, protein based on food from the earth, and if any problems arise he resorts to meditation, things that, although they may seem small or insubstantial, Jamal will adopt, making him a better person, even leaving his prejudices aside because, according to him, those are only things that white people do. And it's that the racial issue is the one that takes on the most importance throughout most of the film, an issue that is handled through comic situations that cause no disgust whatsoever, there are jokes for both sides, one of which made me laugh is that black people take such good care of their hair while white people just let it grow long and that's it, which, although it's a stereotype, is true in most cases and it's funny, but enough with the jokes, what's important is to show that we're not different at all and that we can even share a love for something in common, in this case basketball.

To be quite honest, the basketball game choreographies are very simple, they don't stand out much but what I did like quite a bit was the soundtrack, which had some great songs that I like. Where I find the big flaw in the narrative is in the relationship with Jamal with his father, it's not developed enough and you feel that everything happens too fast, they try to force a bond with that character through the use of flashbacks but they don't achieve the result and that's supposed to be someone very important to Jamal, being the only one who supported him despite everything, hiding his illness so that his son would dedicate himself exclusively to basketball. In the end I can't tell you if this version surpasses the original or if it's a good homage, what I do know is that it works well enough on its own, it could have been an independent film and thus avoided the criticism of people who are rooted in the first version and that's something that escapes my comprehension, they don't judge the product itself, they do it based on another product. From my point of view, I find it very enjoyable, ideal to watch if you don't have anything else to do and you want to waste time watching something entertaining.

Thompson; ellos junto a los creadores de esta magnífica historia y un enorme grupo de animadores, realizaron maravillosas escenas que en mi opinión hicieron ver obsoleta lo hecho hace cinco años; en un film animado en dónde las secuencias de acción son muy importantes, es genial como le dieron validez no solo a los ya conocidos protagonistas, sino también a los nuevos personajes que con sus notorias diferencias, por supuesto deberían crear escenas en dónde justamente sus principales características resalten, pero no todo es sobre las escenas de acción, ya que hay otras en dónde una simple conversación entre padres y sus hijos se convierte en algo muy importante, son escenas muy bien planeadas, con muchos detalles, cambios de perspectiva dependiendo de los sentimientos de los personajes en ese momento; un excelente trabajo y por ser un film animado da mucha libertad para que cada relato es muy bien acompañado por los cambios de escenografías y eso me pareció de lo mejor del film.

La historia es perfecta para esta secuela, es algo que se intuyó al final del film anterior y me agradó que se explore en esta primera parte de una historia dividida en dos; tanto "Into the Spider-Verse" como en "Across the Spider-Verse" son un claro ejemplo de un buen coming of Age y en esta oportunidad se nota aún más y eso es debido a la etapa que enfrenta Miles en dónde su adolescencia da indicio de su final y cada vez más sus decisiones lo harán estar más cerca des adultez; crecer es algo inevitable y es hora que este joven empiece a afrontar esa etapa, pero que sucede cuando se siente solo, no tiene a nadie a quien acudir, con quién hablar, en ningún momento confía en quien más ama y eso hace difícil su nueva etapa de héroe y no solo le sucede a él, sino a otros personajes que deben obligatoriamente lidiar con esos inconvenientes porque son etapas que deben afrontar para ser héroes; cada quien debe sufrir para ser héroes y esto es en parte el verdadero tema de esta historia, una incógnita que trata de "¿Para crecer se debe sufrir?" Esto es algo que desencadena una serie de eventos que hacen muy interesante a este film.

Thompson; they together with the creators of this magnificent story and a huge group of animators, made wonderful scenes that in my opinion made what was done five years ago look obsolete; in an animated film where the action sequences are very important, it is great how they gave validity not only to the already known protagonists, but also to the new characters that with their notorious differences, of course they should create scenes where just their main characteristics stand out, but not everything is about the action scenes, since there are others where a simple conversation between parents and their children becomes something very important, they are very well planned scenes, with many details, changes of perspective depending on the feelings of the characters at that moment; an excellent job and for being an animated film gives a lot of freedom so that each story is very well accompanied by the changes of scenery and that seemed to me the best of the film.

The story is perfect for this sequel, it is something that was intuited at the end of the previous film and I was pleased that it is explored in this first part of a story divided into two; both "Into the Spider-Verse" and "Across the Spider-Verse" are a clear example of a good coming of Age and this time it is even more noticeable and that is due to the stage facing Miles where his adolescence gives hint of its end and increasingly his decisions will make him closer to adulthood; Growing up is inevitable and it is time that this young man begins to face that stage, but what happens when he feels alone, he has no one to turn to, no one to talk to, at any time he trusts the one he loves the most and that makes difficult his new stage of hero and not only happens to him, but to other characters who must necessarily deal with these inconveniences because they are stages they must face to be heroes; everyone must suffer to be heroes and this is partly the real theme of this story, an unknown that deals with "To grow up you must suffer?" This is something that triggers a series of events that make this film very interesting.

Como dije anteriormente, el diseño y la animación son magistrales, las diferencias entre los personajes es algo obligatorio para que cada uno resalte no solo en las escenas, sino en la historia por completo y a pesar de que existe muy buenas versiones de Spider-man, debo decir que el diseño del personaje que más me ha gustado en este film, es "the Spot"; creo que no había visto un buen desarrollo de un villano desde hace un buen tiempo; me gustaron sus motivos y su inteligencia que posiblemente por lo que es, pareciera estar desorientado, pero al enfocarse en una sola misión eso parece que lo lleva a querer alcanzar su gran potencial y eso me pareció excelente. Sé que otros personajes como "Spider-Man India" o "Spider Punk", son excelentes elecciones para que tenga cierto protagonismo en la historia y agradezco eso porque por momentos me hicieron olvidar de "Spider-Man Noir" que me hizo falta en esta película, pero los mundos referentes de ambos personajes me impresionó y se me hizo entendible el porqué los tomaron en cuenta; con respecto a "Miles" y "Gwen", en algún momento del film se usa la frase de que son uno mismo, hay mucha referencia a eso y justamente este film es relatado desde el punto de vista de ambos; sus personajes son mejores que en el anterior film, sus motivos, preocupaciones, se explora mucho más los sentimientos de ambos y eso es excelente.

As I said before, the design and animation are masterful, the differences between the characters is mandatory for each one to stand out not only in the scenes, but in the story completely and although there are very good versions of Spider-man, I must say that the character design that I liked the most in this film, is "the Spot"; I think I had not seen a good development of a villain for a long time; I liked his motives and his intelligence that possibly for what it is, seems to be disoriented, but by focusing on a single mission that seems to lead him to want to achieve his great potential and that seemed excellent to me. I know that other characters like "Spider-Man India" or "Spider Punk", are excellent choices to have some prominence in the story and I appreciate that because at times they made me forget about "Spider-Man Noir" which I missed in this movie, but the worlds of reference of both characters impressed me and it was understandable why they were taken into account; with respect to "Miles" and "Gwen", at some point in the film is used the phrase that they are one and the same, there is a lot of reference to that and precisely this film is told from the point of view of both; their characters are better than in the previous film, their motives, concerns, the feelings of both are explored much more and that is excellent.

Esta serie se enfoca, en particular, en Charlie y Nick, dos adolescentes que se conocen en la escuela y crean una relación de amistad. Charlie es gay y todos lo saben. Esta serie es reconfortante. Desde la primera temporada quedé encantada y enamorada con todo lo que es capaz de transmitir en capítulos con una duración menor a 40 minutos. Es esa serie que cada vez que la miras te hace sentir bien. Te deja buenos sentimientos. Te hace sentir que todo estará bien.

This series is heartwarming. Since the first season I was enchanted and in love with everything it is capable of transmitting in chapters with a duration of less than 40 minutes. Los temas que aborda son muy importantes, y lo hace de una manera clara, no da vueltas y es directa. Deja muy lindos mensajes para las personas que se puedan sentir identificadas con algunas de las situaciones que viven los personajes. También para los que estén afuera deja mensajes de ser tolerantes y buenos compañeros, no juzgar al otro por lo que es y tratar de ayudar siempre que se pueda.

The topics she addresses are very important, and she does it in a clear, straightforward and direct way. It leaves very nice messages for people who can identify with some of the situations the characters go through. Also for those who are outside, it leaves messages of being tolerant and good companions, not judging others for what they are and trying to help whenever possible.

En cuanto a lo visual, en esta producción se usa mucho la paleta de colores fríos que reflejan los momento tensos o difíciles que puedan estar atravesando los personajes y los cálidos cuando se sienten bien y están en un lugar seguro o con una persona que los hagan sentir bien. Me gusta mucho la combinación de estos colores en ocasiones, sobre todo los azules y los amarillos. En esta segunda temporada también se usaron los púrpuras muy oscuros que se reflejaba como un lugar del que había que irse porque se siente violento.

In terms of visuals, this production uses a lot of cold colors that reflect the tense or difficult moments that the characters may be going through, and warm colors when they feel good and are in a safe place or with a person that makes them feel good. I really like the combination of these colors at times, especially the blues and yellows. This second season also used the very dark purples which was reflected as a place you had to leave because it feels violent.

Aparte de los temas de identidades también es un canto a la amistad, no es la típica historia de amor adolescente. Va más allá, acá se reivindican los vínculos de amistad y lo importante que pueden llegar a ser. Incluso más que los de amor. Amo mucho a mis amigas y cuando terminé de ver esta segunda temporada quise ir corriendo a abrazarlas y agradecerles por tenerlas en mi vida. Prestando un poco más de atención a estos dos desafíos, la más reciente película de DC Comics (Blue Beetle) logró hacer bien los deberes y ya está siendo considerada como uno de los éxitos más importantes en la trayectoria del estudio en relación a las películas de superhéroes. Básicamente, según el director Angel Manuel Soto, el proyecto es un éxito porque además de traer una mayor representatividad al público, también es muy inclusivo.

Uno de los mayores factores de representación es la inclusión de la comunidad latina dentro del cine estadounidense. Si bien todavía queda mucho por hacer para que este público sea incluido en películas con esta temática, es precisamente este proyecto el que le ha estado mostrando a la industria que las cosas deben cambiar. Hasta el momento, el proyecto ha sido muy bien aceptado por la crítica y, sin duda, su colección final traerá una posible buena ganancia económica para el estudio.

También me parece muy interesante señalar que cuando se escribe un guión sobre una historia de superhéroes, nada mejor que incluir en él a todo tipo de público. Democratizar la trama en sus capas es casi como tener lista una receta de pastel para el éxito. Además, apostar por un reparto carismático (en el caso de esta película, tres nombres son importantes: Xolo Maridueña, Bruna Marquezine y Becky G) con un equipo colaborativo solo tiende a mejorarlo todo.

Cinematograficamente falando, um dos maiores (e mais consistente) problemas que os grandes estúdios focados nas produções de filmes de super-heróis enfrentam, é à falta de originalidade em suas abordagens. Além disso, um outro problema consistente que merece um destaque maior é à decisão de “limitar o acesso” as estórias apenas para quem já leu algum tipo de quadrinho. Tudo isso acaba sendo um verdadeiro tiro no pé porque os filmes ficam bem restritos.

Até o momento, o projeto vem sendo muito bem aceito pelos críticos, e com certeza, à sua arrecadação final trará um possível bom lucro financeiro para o estúdio.

Eu acho muito interessante destacar também, que quando um roteiro sobre uma estória de super-herói é escrito, nada pode melhor do que incluir todo o tipo de público nele. Democratizar à trama em suas camadas é quase como ter uma receita de bolo pronta para o sucesso. Além disso, apostar em um elenco carismático (no caso deste filme, três nomes têm peso: Xolo Maridueña, Bruna Marquezine e Becky G) com uma equipe colaborativa só tende a tonar tudo melhor.

Surely more than one will remember this film, this controversial story, a bit inspiring, motivating and challenging, the life of a woman, reflected on screen, challenging, with its traumas, mistreatment, full of ups and downs, but that had its moment of glory, for a very short time.

Seguro más de uno recordará esta película, esta historia controvertida, un poco inspiradora, motivadora y desafiante, la vida de una mujer, reflejada en pantalla, desafiante, con sus traumas, maltratos, llena de altibajos, pero que tuvo su momento de gloria, por muy poco tiempo.

Moments of glory, of happiness, of pride, having achieved something that many had not been able to, what does it feel like to be the first to achieve it?, what does it feel like to be the first to dare?, even though many told you, you can't, you're no good, you won't make it, this is what we can visualise in this film, in this story, based on the life of a great figure skater like Tonya Harding.

In the 90's, we see Tonya Harding, a young skater from a lower class, with a dysfunctional family, starting with her mother, but with a great talent, performing the first Axel jump in competition, which gave her her moment of fame, however, all this changed, in a matter of seconds, with a transcendental event, which destroyed that fame, and in turn with her Olympic career.

I remember that I always called my attention to this sport, to see how those girls skated on ice, and to make those turns in the air, those spins, for me, is like a high trip, your mind is transported, that everyone sees you, and is surprised to see what you can do, in a rink, with those jumps, it is impressive, definitely a great art, but of course, like any sport, it requires effort, dedication, training, and a lot of professionalism.

For Tonya, all this was a great sacrifice, by her mother, who somehow supported her dream of being a great skater, but at what cost, as I said the relationship she had with her was not normal, she always received abuse, insults, from her, her childhood was not easy, this is something she grew up with, let's say it was the way her mother showed her love.

Tonya thought that this was what love was like, based on physical and verbal abuse, because of this, the relationship she had with her partner was based on this, he beat her, which for her was nothing new, however, somehow it made her strong, she already defended herself, it was certainly a relationship, what today is known as toxic, a love hate, they could not coexist, no matter how much love they had, that abuse was not healthy for either of them.

In this story we see two different scenarios, since the story as I said is based on her life, how she started in this artistic world, how she dealt with her mother, the abandonment of her father, and the unhealthy relationship she had with her boyfriend, then husband, that, on the one hand, on the other hand, there is the other side, what made her lose her entire career, the way she handled things, facing an event with one of her opponents, here one must decide if Harding is a victim or part of this attack.

Maybe both, I don't know, because in part all this was due to the great scandal that the press made, based on her attitude, her way of being, a girl, with conflicts, and a very complicated character, and maybe this is not a reason, for her way of being, but the environment where she grew up and how her relationship with her mother was, made her like this, nobody taught her to love or be different.

One of the things that stood out the most in this movie, was the great performance of Margot Robbie playing the role of Tonya, there is no denying, it was impeccable, with every movement, symmetry, the scenes in the rink, based on the real skater's competitions, and her expressions.

I remember one scene, where we see her make up, and she has to show that fake smile, as if nothing is happening, in her life, with so many complications, so much disaster, about to lose everything, becoming her last competition, I think it was one of the best scenes.

Also the great role of Allison Janney, as Harding's mother, a despicable, rude, insensitive woman, who never cared about her daughter's welfare, certainly gave a great performance.

This film was released in 2017, I remember when I saw it, a strong story, acid, cruel, real, that shows us the harsh reality of society and humanity, which is worth seeing, if you haven't done it, I invite you to do it, and if you have already done it, tell me, how did you like it.

Esta película fue estrenada en el 2017, recuerdo cuando la vi, una historia fuerte, ácida, cruel, real, que nos muestra la cruda realidad de la sociedad y de la humanidad, la cual vale la pena ver, si no lo han hecho, los invito a que lo hagan, y si ya lo hicieron, díganme, que tal les pareció.
