It establishes the core conflict, the central iconography, the unique tone, and the indelible performance that would define the series. It doesn’t just set the stage for a cult television phenomenon; it is the phenomenon in microcosm – a stark, intelligent, visually arresting, and deeply unsettling exploration of freedom, identity, and resistance against an omnipresent, inscrutable authority. More than six decades on, its power to disturb, provoke, and resonate remains undimmed, a testament to McGoohan’s uncompromising vision and the timeless relevance of its chilling premise. This was a very long time ago when I watch it for the first time and I didnt much about movies or who the F was Christian Bale so my thoughts were around the line of well this is a fantasy movie about dragons lets see what new and what good can give well I can say that is not a bad movie, directed by Rob Bowman a director that didnt mess around with trying to make this some fairy tale fantasy instead he gave post apocalyptic future, saying future because the movie is from 2002, where dragons took seriously the job of erased all civilization as we know it, in addition is also explaining that dinosaurs were eliminated by dragons instead of the impact of an asteroid. At the moment you watch the movie you can realize that the budget was tight but even thought it got good actors like Christian Bale and Matthew McConaughey, Bale plays Quinn a leader to his community that is always trying to protect them and also is living with guilt from his past because he think that he was the reason why the first dragon that started all that destruction woke up and at the other side is McConaughey this wild military guy from Kentucky who shows up with tanks and helicopters wanting to take the fight directly to the dragons you probably think that he with his team are crazy for fighting dragons but they just want to bring peace and a new life to the world again

To understand this movie is important to know how everything started, with this kid called Quinn who visits his mother in a mine where she worked, unfortunately that day everything will change the world and why? The reason is that they digging in the wrong place where a dragon was hibernating and at that moment it wokes up burnt everything and Quinn is the only survivor, now in the present he is the leader of a group of survivors living in a castle fortress in norther England and in a world where everything is grey where exist dragon patrolling in the sky hunting humans because now they are the most powerful creatures in the world, with that reality Quinn and his people developed prayers and routines to survive, they use birds as lookouts, they've rigged up water systems to fight fires, its like a medieval community with some modern tech thrown in, Im always thinking that in fact that will be a real future, on the other hand is Van Zan who appeared with his team of dragon hunters bringing military hardware and this philosophy that the only way to deal with the dragon problem is to fight back hard instead of just hiding, he let Quinn knows that they have killed 200 female dragons and now are hunting the male dragon because is the responsable of hatches the dragon eggs so the cycle never ends unfortunately this two men are so different that tension between them is so obvious Quinn with his survival spirit and Van Zan with his aggressive way of living his life, even though this is a movie where you can see that the budget was limited the way how is show this apocalyptic world seems real, the performance is good and the dragons well is not Games of Thrones so don´t expect perfection.

It is amazing when you can see two actors that do not overshadow each other but rather complement each other and manage to give us a good performance that is what Bale and McConaughey do here in Reign of Fire and I mention this because this two actors are in big movies and don´t hesitate to take a role in a minor production and give their 100%, also you can see in this movie other great actor which is Gerard Butler shows up as Quinn's friend Creedy and even though his role is smaller you can see that is giving everything in this role. The chemistry between all these actors makes the human relationships feel real even in the middle of all this dragon chaos, you care about what happens to them, they talk like people who are just trying to survive another day, all in this movie feels real because thats the way the actor manage to provide that message, thats when you realize that a movie is not great for the a big budget and all the CGI on it, a movie is good when it has a good dialogue, good direction, good production and a good cast and this movie is good for all that. The idea of a apocalyptic world but not for the climate change or a world war is fascinating bring a mythological creature to create all that chaos, horror and grief is something different not unique but different.

For the cast and direction they had it is a good movie but it doesn´t mean that is the best movie of all time because is not it has it error like some logic about the story with Van Zan, they come from America and arrived in London and you think how they manage to find fuel when in the world is difficult to plant a tree what a contradiction, they have a tank, an helicopter, motorcycle and you think wao how the cross the ocean, they needed a big ship to do so are more when they mention they have been hunting dragons all over the world, you think wao they probably they are using solar panels in the ship because the fuel is only for the other things but yo know it is a fantasy movie so just don´t think too much about it because at the end it doesn´t bothers me at all, the movie is what it is just for fun, it doesn´t pretende to go into our minds and make us beleive that it could be our future. Something that I really like was how old the dragons look, are not the best dragons that is saw in a movie or a series because if I want great dragons well I watch House of the Dragons obviously those dragons look waay better that the one that appear in this movie but that also doesn´t bother me. A real surprise was the end because Quinn changes his mind from only survive to live fighting against the dragon, I think that it was really the climax of this story, Van Zan trying to defeat the male dragon but spoiler alert he sacrifice to give the opportunity to Quinn to end with that misery world and with the dragons and Quinn complete the mission giving the world a new era, a good one. In deed is a good movie, all the action, the drama, the dragons I believe that is good time well expended.

Its not a secreat Im a fan of series like Games of Thrones and House of the Dragons and many others stories about dragons this is an acceptable story about this magical and fearsome creatures, I know it would not be fair to compare the cinematography between those huge series and this movie but Reign of Fire deliver what it promise including ideas that were unexpected in this movie for example the whole concept of using triangulated positioning to track flying dragons was pretty clever but the way how people jump without parachutes from the helicopter to put a net in that dragon so can´t fly and just fell in the ground was confusing for me but at the end is that they show that will do everything to eliminate all the dragons. The way the movie show how the survivor teach kids about the old world through acting out Star Wars, showing how culture and stories survive even after civilization collapses is always a good feeling plus it gave Christian Bale a chance to claim he invented the whole thing which was genuinely funny. An extra point that I can give to Reign of Fire is the touches they give to the dragons behavior, first that the dragons have trouble seeing during twilight hours, making dusk and dawn the best times to attack them when their vision gets confused also that they eat ash and compete with each other for territory it make them look like any other real animal that do the same, fight for a territory is part also of humans and that lead me to the humans or better says survivors that fight not with magic swords or special powers, no the movie keep the humans as the are just human fighting with what ever they can use against the dragons giving their life trying to give a better life to the next generation. At the end I can say that this story of dragons and survivors is good if you don´t mind the CGI and practical effects use on this movie because remember is from 2002, despite the low ratings online this is a very entertaining movie in my opinion and a cool watch, although I got to confess seen it more than five times since it came out in 2002.

The movie is about when Superman gets drawn into conflicts at home and abroad, his actions are questioned, giving tech billionaire Lex Luthor the opportunity to get the Man of Steel out of the way for good.

Will intrepid reporter Lois Lane and Superman's four-legged companion, Krypto, be able to help him before it's too late?

It begin when Clark Kent, known as Superman, stops the nation of Boravia from invading the neighboring country of Jarhanpur and warns Boravian president Vasil Ghurkos to leave Jarhanpur alone.

In Metropolis, Superman is defeated for the first time by a metahuman called the “Hammer of Boravia” and flees to his Fortress of Solitude in Antarctica with the help of the superpowered dog Krypto.

They are followed by Angela Spica, the Engineer, an ally of billionaire Lex Luthor.

Furthermore, Superman's robots use concentrated solar radiation to heal him and comfort Clark Kent with a message from his birth parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van, who sent him to Earth to save him from the destruction of their planet Krypton.

The message was damaged during the journey, so only the first half can be played.

Superman returns to Metropolis and is again beaten by the Hammer, who is secretly Luthor's metahuman Ultraman.

Meanwhile, Superman agrees to be interviewed by Lois Lane, his girlfriend and reporter colleague at the Daily Planet, leading to an argument when Lois presses him on the legal and ethical implications of his actions in Boravia.

Luthor unleashes a kaiju on Metropolis as a distraction while he infiltrates the Fortress with Ultraman and the Engineer.

Clark Kent is imprisoned with the metahuman Metamorpho. Luthor uses Metamorpho's infant son, Joey, as leverage to force him to transmute one of his hands into Kryptonite, rendering Superman powerless.

During questioning, Luthor murders one of Superman's supporters, Malik Ali. A horrified Metamorpho agrees to help Superman escape, and they free Joey and Krypto.

Meanwhile, Lois convinces Mister Terrific to help find Superman, and they enter the pocket universe, rescuing the others. Lois takes Superman to recuperate with his adoptive human parents, Jonathan and Martha Kent.

Jonathan tells the demoralized Superman that his choices and actions determine who he is, not the message from his birth parents.

'The Place Beyond the Pines' instantly blew me away when I first saw it over a decade ago. I'm more than glad to say that it ABSOLUTELY holds up. I bought this on DVD years ago and I was curious if my taste or opinion on the movie changed over time but I still very much like it as much as the first day I ever seen it. There's something pretty satisfying about that.

There's so many lessons, ideas etc. that one can take from this movie so I'm just going to do what I normally do and that is ramble.

I feel like this movie is about family, fatherhood, anger, choices I guess it's simply about life. The domino effect of the choices we make very day, are often a lot more important than we care to realize or think about. Tough.

The grace and effortlessness of this movie always blows my mind. It's seriously a trilogy in a single film, and it works. Before I set out to write on this movie I literally thought to myself 'this movie is actually a modern day epic' and then I see on Wikipedia that it's literally considered an epic crime drama.

The movie is so cyclical that it literally feels magical, fantasy like. If I were to break down every way this is the case, I'd be writing all day.

I grew up in a really strange, often stressful, chaotic, confusing household. If you want to call it a household. I did have some fantastic times mixed in, but it was extremely bipolar, let's just put it that way. No father for me growing up and so the whole fatherhood angle of this film seriously stands out for me. I wasn't a father when I first saw this, and so this movie only grew more profound now that I am.

Avery was actually a really complex dude and I kind of understood him a lot better in this more recent watch. AJ was also a more interesting character as well. I think their relationship will become strong. Once Avery said sorry to Jason, it seems like a weight was lifted off everyone's shoulders, including Jason of course. Src

When it comes to Jason I'm glad that he got a chance to learn a bit about his dad, I think it's plausible that he'll return and embrace Kofi one day as well. Not like there was ever a problem between the two but yeah. Src

Growing up in Pennsylvania, the geography in New York is pretty much identical and this only made the film more relatable to me. Src

Everything about this movie was perfect even the soundtrack. I think this movie will age like fine wine. I think one day this film will even be looked at as like a historical piece if that makes sense. I'm probably wording that wrong but I think it's understandable. 90's kids growing up into the early 2010's etc.

I like all the characters, all the actors and actresses were on point.

There’s this manhwa I’ve been reading. It’s not complete yet and it’s eating away at my skin. I literally sacrificed some of my reading time during exams to binge read it. That was the first time I ever did something like that and I can’t say I regret it because fortunately, I still managed to cover my syllabus. I've stopped reading it for a while because I got fed up with having just a chapter to read each week when I used to read 80 chapters at a go, and in one sitting. I’m not here to talk about it but I will soon, just letting it sit pretty at a corner before I’m ready to share my glorious characters. They’re not mine obviously but I’m gatekeeping, for now. Oh and it’s having an anime adaptation by next year!

Source But that’s besides what I want to say. I’m watching pantheon now and also reading this book series, but before all these, I had the opportunity to rewatch an anime that I watched last two years ago and I’d like to share or talk about it a little.

Buddy Daddies. The first time I saw it, I couldn’t get past the first episode, I got bored immediately. I don’t know why but eventually it came to me. It has just one season with a total of 13 episodes.

It revolves around these two characters, Kazuki and Rei. Kazuki and Rei are professional assassins who work as partners and live together, but they couldn’t be more different. Kazuki is the responsible one who handles all the domestic stuff like cooking and cleaning, while Rei is more of a loner who just wants to play video games and avoid dealing with people. They have their routine down and their partnership works, even if their personalities clash sometimes.

Everything changes during what should have been a straightforward job when they end up responsible for a young girl named Miri. She’s connected to their target in a way that complicates the mission, and suddenly these two guys who kill people for a living find themselves trying to figure out how to take care of a kid.

Source Neither of them knows anything about parenting, and their lifestyle obviously isn’t compatible with raising a child. Kazuki tries his best to adapt and create some kind of normal home environment, while Rei struggles with the whole situation and doesn’t really know how to interact with Miri at first. The kid herself is dealing with her own complicated family situation and doesn’t fully understand what’s happening around her.

As they try to balance their work with this unexpected responsibility, both men start changing in ways they didn’t expect. The presence of Miri forces them to look at their lives differently and question some of the choices they’ve made. Their relationship with each other also evolves as they navigate this new dynamic.

Source The story explores what happens when people who live in a violent, underground world suddenly have to consider someone else’s wellbeing and future. There are complications from their professional lives that threaten this makeshift family they’re trying to build, and they have to figure out what they’re willing to sacrifice to protect what matters to them. And this isn’t the only anime with this kind of story, they are a handful or a lot, I have no idea. And honestly and like I said in the beginning, the genre wasn’t resonating with me. I don’t think I like this kind of anime but this one was good to say the least.

I vividly remember during the covid-19 pandemic, i gave Japanese anime a try. I started with naruto, it was boring at first until i discovered the English dub version, it made things alot more enjoyable. This best part of this was that is was a popular anime, so many viewers so it was a topic we always gist about even after the pandemic

So out of boredom i made a lineart of Obito Uchiha from the uchiha clan. He was a very sad character outclass by his teammate(Kakashi) who was so better he stole obito's crush(Rin). He ended up in a fatal accident so his teammate had to abandon him in the process he met the villain of the movie who saved his live and hid his identity from everyone. But i took alot of inspo from Pinterest for the lineart

Well, I haven't finished the entire show yet; I just got through the first season. And

SPOILER ALERT: I am going to discuss some key elements of the show, discuss the characters and how its similar to another show that was a big hit about 2 decades ago. A yeah, in case you haven't watched it, go and watch, or not your wish.

I am talking about FROM a TV show available on Prime Video. And believe me, while watching episodes 1 & 2, I was having deja vu. I kept telling my wife that I think I have seen this somewhere before. And I was right. This was done about 2 decades ago, and the series name was LOST. Massive hit among fans despite getting a not mind-blowing ending. The similarity between the two shows ends at the plot, but in some key characters and plot points as well. And it all made sense when I checked the credits and the Wikipedia page of the FROM, one of the Executive producers was the director of the LOST series.

To be honest, it's hard for me not to compare this series with LOST. I mean, the plot appears to be almost the same, with the difference that instead of being stranded on an island, the characters are trapped in a mysterious town. Instead of a smoke monster, we have creepy, smiling human-looking monsters. Even the character's dynamic was the same. And I am not complaining, I am just happy that I am getting to relive the excitement and thrill LOST provided. And I dont have to wait for an entire week, sometimes 10-15days for the release of the next episode, and then for someone to upload on a shady website, it would take hours to download the 300MB size xvidrip, this time. Source I would say that I am liking the series how it's going. Not shying away from the gore and violence. Actually, I would rate FROM a little higher than LOST for depicting the threats and the dangers clearly. Also, the idea of the people getting trapped in a village is executed beautifully. The characters are interesting and well-written. I mean, throughout the season, I never felt the need to skip any conversation. Nothing seemed to be forced, and the flow of the story is good. The debate of science and faith is there among the characters, and It's ok, tolerable. As for the mysteries that the town presented, it's too early to tell. I hope is that it gets addressed, but seeing how many unresolved mysteries LOST left us with, I am not that optimistic here. But hey, as long as the show offers me excitement and thrill, I am in.

FUNFACT - One of the leads in the FROM series is being played by a side character of LOST, and it took me 3 episodes to realise that. 🤦‍♂🤣

Alien Earth Episode 3 titled Metamorphosis dropped last week, Im keeping up with the series but with so much content Im a bit behind on posting about it and Im a bit confuse with the show descions or north, trying to figure out what the hell is happening with this show, where we started with this promising concept about xenomorphs threatening our planet and now we got all this unnecessary drama thats slowly killing the vibe. This episode feels like they took the Alien franchise and decided to throw in a bunch of soap opera elements that nobody asked for, making the actual aliens feel like side characters in their own show. The opening scene has Wendy still chasing after her brother Joe who got dragged away by the xenomorph at the end of last episode, but instead of focusing on this tense situation we get sidetracked by all these other Lost Boys who are more interested in collecting specimens than actually rescuing anyone. Boy Cavaliere makes it clear that forget about saving people, its time to grab all the valuable alien creatures because apparently they are worth trillions of dollars, which completely shifts the focus from survival horror to corporate greed. The theater setting with old band posters really drives home how much civilization has been lost, but then the show undermines this atmosphere by having characters argue about their fake names and identity crisis instead of dealing with the immediate threat. Wendy finally finds Joe tied up in a container and hes screaming at her not to come closer because its obviously a trap but she goes anyway because thats what the script needs her to do. The whole rescue sequence should be terrifying but it turns into this weird action movie where Wendy basically becomes a superhero with a paper cutter blade, which is just ridiculous when you think about it, that wont do shit to an armored 8 feet tall Xenomorph.

The whole specimens collecting subplot takes over way too much of the episode, with Kirsh and the team grabbing five different alien species including the xenomorph eggs that should be treated with way more caution than they are showing. Boy Cavaliere is practically drooling over all these creatures like hes won the lottery, which makes sense from a corporate perspective but completely undermines the horror elements that should be driving this show. When they bring all the specimens back to Neverland its treated more like a science fair than a dangerous situation involving deadly alien life forms, the characters are way too casual about handling creatures that could potentially wipe out humanity. The scene where Boy Cavaliere almost gets face hugged because he puts his face right up to an egg is supposed to be tense but it just makes him look stupid, and Kirsh has to pull him away while explaining how the aliens work like hes giving a nature documentary. The whole dynamic between the different factions is getting more complex with Utani trying to recover the specimens from Prodigy, but this corporate warfare angle feels like it belongs in a different show entirely. Morrow calling his boss and refusing to come back until he gets the specimens creates this subplot about corporate loyalty versus personal obsession, which might be interesting in another context but here it just adds more unnecessary complications to what should be a straightforward survival story. The introduction of all these different alien species beyond the xenomorphs feels like the show is trying to create this expanded universe instead of focusing on what made the original Alien movies so effective.

Nibs is having an identity crisis about being trapped in a synthetic body she doesnt want, spoiler alert it gets WAY more wild on episode 4, but her trauma leads to this philosophical discussions about what makes someone human that feel completely out of place in an Alien story. She spends most of her screen time staring in mirrors and questioning her existence, which might work in a drama about artificial intelligence but here it just slows down the pacing when we should be dealing with the Alien threat, they really seem like trying to tame down the Xenomorph presence, yeah there is yet not a full grown one with them but Im sure its about to pop from Joe old lung. Curly is trying to compete with Wendy for Boy Cavalieres attention creating this weird love triangle that has nothing to do with the core concept of aliens threatening Earth and I wonder if that bubble is going to explode at some point creating friction between her and Wendy although been Wendy I doubt she comes back at Curly. The way they handle these character relationships feels more like a teen drama than a horror series, with characters arguing about favoritism and jealousy while literal monsters are running around. Slightly gets manipulated by Morrow through some kind of remote communication system that Im 1000% sure they going to catch and will be prepare for when Morrow arrive to Neverland, setting up this subplot about infiltration and espionage that again distracts from the main alien storyline. Now the really interested part of the episode is Wendy hearing the alien communications at the end, should be a terrifying revelation the reason for this is that you now have the potential to have one of your super hybrids be friend with a Xenomorph, thats fkn epic, imagine Wendy turning on the Xenomorph side and ends up they come in peace? well we know they dont.

Welcome to my blog.

I recently watched a Korean movie that kept me up until 2am. I thought the movie wasn't going to be interesting and it was just 8 episodes. So, I decided to start it around 7pm in the evening. I was glued to my phone until 2am that I finished the movie😂😂

The movie name is The Defects It is a 2025 Korean series movie with 8 episodes like I mentioned earlier.

The storyline

The movie is all about a lady who had an awful childhood experience with the mother abandoning her because she felt she is of no use to her. She grew up to establish a shady underground operation playing god with DNA mutation, channelled to create children of high intelligence for adoption. The children are auctioned like an item and selected by high demand parents. The parents could also return the children after some time if they are not pleasant with the results (i.e the child's performance).

The parents who adopts the children doesn't know how the lady trick parents with a notable background and get their sperm for culture. Neither do they know that once they return any child, the child would be brutally killed.

A man who was given the job to always kill these children saved a child which happens to be the woman's daughter one day, and the child gave him hope. From that day, he continued to save other children and the four saved children lived in hiding until one day, when an operation to save the fifth child went wrong. The car he drove caught fire.

The five children started running while fighting the shady operation which comprises of their parents.

The movie is an interesting one with lessons. Most people go through childhood trauma, they take the wrong way and grow into a monster because of those experiences.

The rich are filled with greedy desires and once you play to their tune to satisfy those desires they become enslaved to you.

How a child is trained when he/she is little determines he/she's lifestyle when they are grown.

Once, someone doesn't see one evil act as evil, they will continue to do multiple evil things without any sympathy.

Not all normal things are right neither are right things normal.

The movie was great I enjoyed it but some scenes are just too exaggerated.

The children will be among people shooting but didn't die. In as much as the man trained them daily, the exposure to danger without getting hurt is much.

Their were many times to end the whole drama but, escape way was created and it continued.
