Hello movie fan community! Today I'm dropping by to recommend you this period series that is great, it's the best I've seen so far, as the customs of the time are represented very well. This detail for me is very important because I'm tired of seeing many series and movies that end up being unrealistic by incorporating elements of different times or even current. Here is a synopsis and my opinion:

Downton Abbey is a British drama series, produced by Carnival Films and Masterpiece. Created and written primarily by writer Julian Fellowes, it premiered in September 2010.

The series is set in the English county of Yorkshire, at the country house of Downton, depicting the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants between 1912 and 1926, with major events in history having an effect on their lives and the British social hierarchy. Such events, depicted throughout the seasons, include news of the sinking of the Titanic in the first season; the outbreak of World War I, the 1918 flu pandemic, and the Marconi Scandal in the second season; the interwar period and the formation of the Irish Free State in the third season; and the Teapot Dome Scandal in the fourth season.

The series is extraordinary and of impeccable quality, I especially love that they take into account the historical facts of the time and how it impacts on the whole family and their servants. I also thought it was original, since I had not seen a period series that tells in such detail the life of the servants and their hierarchies. In addition to exposing the relationship they have with the family. The amount of detail is immense and enriches the series.

The plot begins in 1912 in Downton County, when the future heir of the aristocratic Crawley family dies in the sinking of the Titanic. This whole event triggers a lot of complications regarding the inheritance, since the owner of Downton Abbey has only three daughters who, according to the law, cannot inherit. Upon meeting the new heir, a young upper-middle-class lawyer named Matthew Crawley, prejudices and doubts are born. This reversal of fortune does not please the family members and servants, especially the Dowager Countess of Grantham, Robert's mother. Everything is complicated when they arrive at Downton Abbey, they are not at all familiar with the customs of the great house, which sometimes seems excentric, and they find it difficult to adapt. Then the idea of a marriage between him and the eldest daughter, Lady Mary, resurfaces. But she wants nothing to do with it. That's how it all begins and it goes on for six long seasons, which are really worth watching.

The characters are very well developed and each one carries on their shoulders a history that is presented in a detailed and interesting way, making it very easy to empathize with them. The way they evolve over time, in or out of the house, is magnificent and leaves you with your mouth open. It is very hard for me to choose which ones I liked the most, as they are all very complex and varied. The performances, extraordinary, I have nothing to say. Between the rigidity of Mr. Carzon, butler of the house, the inflexible housekeeper, Mrs. Hughes sweetness, the sweetness of Anne, head maid, and the conspiracies of Thomas and Sara, Lady Grantham's personal maid, you become familiar with their lifestyle, dreams and sins of the servants. There are many more, but if I had to talk about each one I wouldn't finish. The one I liked the most is Ana Smith for her incredible capacity for understanding and for her relationship with Lady Mary, which goes beyond the mistress-servant relationship. A character that goes through many things and is beautiful. Among the householders we have the three sisters, each with her character and her dreams. Mary is annoyed when everyone wants to marry her to the new heir and she dislikes him. Edith, always in the shadow of her older sister, has a great rivalry with her since she falls in love with her sister's fiancé. Sybil is the most sensitive and sweetest of them all, but she will provoke situations that will test the paradigms of traditional family life. The father, living for his patrimony and for the house he does not want to lose, will do anything to keep everything together. And the mother, worried about the estate and not having a son, will do whatever she can to marry her eldest daughter to the new heir. The character I like the most is the grandmother, the Countess of Grantham, an inflexible woman who values the family members' traditions and customs. She is an interesting and extraordinarily complex character.

If you like period series and you have never seen it, what are you waiting for? You can't miss it. I clarify that it is not a romantic series, but dramatic and historical, it goes beyond any classification.

Hello CineTV. Contests are not just what we take part of. I see it as an opportunity to share our experiences with readers while they share theirs with us as well. I’ve lost count of how many movies that I have watched and how many movies make me feel relaxed but there is one that stands out.

For my relaxation, I love to watch Vinaya Vidheya Rama. It’s an Indian action film which centers around a family whose last or youngest brother will do anything and everything for just to make them happy. And do you know why the movie makes me feel relaxed? It’s because I compare it to the family which I come from. My father is like that too and he can go miles for us just to make sure that we get all we want.

Four brothers, Bhuvan, Sekar, Raju and Madhunandan Konidela were rescued by the cry of a baby when they were about to commit suicide. Immediately, they all went to the location where the baby was and named him Ram, then adopted him as their brother. When Dr. Konidela Subramanyam heard about it, he chose to adopt them.

After so many years, Ram became the savior of the family. His older brother, Bhuvan Kumar becomes the chief election commissioner but was heavily threatened by Raja Bhai, an enemy to Bhuvan Kumar all because Bhuvan does his job diligently and isn’t a part of any election malpractice.

Ram Konidela kept fighting for his brothers, gave up his education for them and fought for them even till Bhuvan Kumar took his last breathe who was killed by Raja Bhai and his men.

After the whole fight, Ram Konidela and all the members of the family went to the grave of Bhuvan Kumar to pay their last respect.

This is an interesting movie with a great storyline and a sad ending but that’s not why I feel relaxed. Just as I said, I’m a family person and when watching this movie, I usually compare it to my family setting and how much my dad fights for us. This doesn’t mean that we usually get into trouble but he’s a real fighter who fights for his family. Then, watching this movie puts it in the back of my mind that I have someone in my life as well who can go this mile for me.

And there was a scene that made me feel more relaxed. That was the scene where the four brothers, Bhuvan, Sekar, Raju and Madhunandan were captured on an island by Raja Bhai and his men. Truly, there was a huge suspense in that scene but something kept on telling me that Ram was going to show up and he eventually did.

If the movie wasn’t titled Vinaya Vidheya Rama, maybe it should be titled Savior because Ram was the savior used for the whole family. And this sends a message across to every audience watching the movie that there is nothing that comes before family.

I think the watch time of this movie isn’t bad. It’s just two hours and twenty six minutes of your time and when you watch it, you will feel relaxed. Do you know what will make you feel more relaxed? It’s because at the end of the movie, you will know that it is you and your family against this world. Even if you do not have anything, your family will always be there for you anytime and any day.

Lastly, I believe that there may be different movies that makes all of us feel relaxed. The fact that this movie makes me feel relaxed doesn’t mean it will make you feel that way as well but when you watch it, you will definitely learn and love something about the movie.

It’s a good movie that deserves 9/10 rating. If you think it deserves a watch, you should do that and you will be grateful of your decision.

I just saw Together (2025) over the weekend, I have also started to thread when ever Im watching something worth posting about and I got to say this body horror movie with Alison Brie and Dave Franco is one of those that leaves you feeling all kinds of confused but also weirdly satisfied at the same time, they really went all in with this weird concept that sounds ridiculous on paper but somehow works when you see it executed, people who really love each other becoming one, because if you didnt notice they couple who got lost tried to kill each other and were never able to "merge". The movie follows these two married characters Tim and Millie who decide to move to the countryside and end up drinking from some cursed pond that makes them physically unable to separate from each other, its like codependency taken to the most literal extreme possible and honestly thats exactly what makes it both brilliant and frustrating. Michael Shanks directing debut feels ambitious but also messy in places, he clearly knows how to create tension and discomfort but sometimes breaks it right when you want him to lean into the horror even more. The story itself is gold for body horror fans but the execution feels like it pulls back just when it should be pushing forward, I think that Jamie "the bad guy" should have been given more screen time would have a bigger impact on the draam, they try to keep horror and gore at bay making it more accessible sure but also less scary than it could have been. Dave Franco and Alison Brie being married in real life adds this authentic chemistry that you cant fake and their performances carry the movie even when the script gets a little weird with its mythology about cults and ancient rituals, I love their work both specially their comedy side. The whole thing starts simple enough with relationship problems that every couple can relate to but then goes completely off the rails once the supernatural stuff kicks in, which is both the movies strength and its biggest weakness reason why is because the movie never fully commits to the horror side.

What really got me hooked was watching Tim and Millie deal with their issues before any of the horror stuff happens, they feel like a real couple going through actual problems instead of just horror movie characters waiting to get killed. Tim is this struggling musician at 35 who hasnt made it yet and feels some what over powered I think is the word, by his girlfriend taking charge of their relationship, while Millie has been carrying the weight of making all the major decisions and is getting tired of feeling like his mom instead of his "partner", lots of issues to call your boyfriend, your partner. Franco does a great job showing Tims insecurity and vulnerability without making him completely unlikable, even though there are moments where you want to shake him for being so passive about everything important, smack the sht out of him and grow a pair. Alison Brie brings this mix of strength and frustration to Millie that feels sweet and tought, she loves Tim but she also clearly fed up with having to drag him through life and make all the hard choices for both of them. The movie does this smart thing where it shows how their problems existed long before any supernatural nonsense happened so when they start getting physically stuck together it becomes this twisted metaphor for what was already happening emotionally, for example the opening scenes at their goodbye party do a good job establishing who these people are and why their relationship is already on shaky ground, Tim cant even handle being asked to make a toast without looking uncomfortable. Their sex life has been dead for months which becomes even more relevant once the body horror elements kick in and suddenly they cant keep their hands off each other but not in a romantic way more like a horrifying compulsion, oh you didnt want to fuck? its fucking time.

The body horror aspects are where the movie gets really interesting but as mention before it keeps pulling back just when things get intense, once Tim drinks from that cursed pond the couple starts experiencing this magnetic attraction that they cant control, their bodies literally stick together and they have to rip themselves apart which sounds way more brutal than what you actually see on screen although I like how things keep getting worst as time goes by. The practical effects are solid especially the scenes where their limbs get entangled and you can see bone pushing through skin but the movie always cuts away or uses humor to break the tension before it gets too uncomfortable, even at the end they cut off the transformation. There are some really really gross moments like when Millies hair gets stuck down Tims throat or was it going on Tim throat? its confusing at times depending on the attraction factor, all this while they sleep or when they get stuck together during sex in a school bathroom, those scenes made me squeeze my seat arm rest which is exactly what good body horror should do. The problem is that every time the movie builds up that anxiety and disgust it immediately deflates it with a joke or a romantic moment, which might make it more watchable for general audiences but left me wanting more. The whole concept of couples being unable to separate could have been explored in much more disturbing ways, imagine if they had to figure out how to eat or use the bathroom while stuck together, but the movie is too polite to really go there. Even the much advertised scene with the electric saw ends up being more comedic than horrifying, which feels like a missed opportunity to really mess with the audience.

The supporting characters and mythology surrounding the cursed pond add some interesting factors but also make the movie feel more complicated than it needs to be. Damon Herriman plays Jamie the creepy coworker who turns out to be connected to this cult that used to operate in the area and while his performance is solid the whole backstory about ancient rituals and Platos theory of soulmates feels overly intellectual for what should be a visceral body horror experience. The movie references this idea that humans were originally created with four arms and four legs but Zeus split them apart, so now everyone is searching for their other half, which is a cool concept but gets lost in all the relationship drama, also this is something I learn because I had to look it trying to make sense of some scenes and most audience wont so its a over complicated drama plot. Jamie having this mysterious husband who apparently went through the same fusion process adds to his creepyness but also raises questions that never get properly answered, like why did he survive when other couples seem to die from the experience, my guess is that only those who love each other would merge like Tim and Millie that eventually give up because he could not see her die but others would just try to kill each other and never fully merge, just my own theory. The cult stuff and the missing couples subplot feel like they belong in a different movie, one thats more interested in folk horror and ancient mysteries rather than the intimate body horror story that actually works. The movie would have been stronger if it just focused on Tim and Millie dealing with their transformation without all the external mythology weighing it down, sometimes less explanation makes horror more effective, the hole church turn into a cave doesnt make sense, did that happen before or after Jamie merge with his husband??.

Together ends up being a movie that I wanted to love more than I actually did, its got all the ingredients for great body horror but keeps seasoning it with too much humor and romance to really let the horror cook properly. The performances from Franco and Brie are period excellent and their real life marriage brings an authenticity to their characters that you rarely see in horror movies, they make you believe in this relationship even when the supernatural elements get ridiculous. Michael Shanks shows real potential as a director and creates some unsettling imagery but he needs to probably trust, Im not sure if thats the right phrase, just let you audience judge and suffer at the same time and handle discomfort without constantly providing relief. The body horror elements that do work are really effective and the practical effects look great, but theres not enough of them and they dont push far enough into nightmare territory, for someone whos new to body horror or easily scared this could be a perfect entry point because it eases you into the genre without going full Cronenberg, but for genre fans it might feel like a missed opportunity. The movie succeeds as a relationship drama with horror elements but fails to be the body horror masterpiece it could have been if it had more confidence in its own concept. After giving it some more thought I give it a solid 7 out of 10 because theres enough good stuff here to recommend it but a lot that just happens.... because...no reason, the performances alone make it worth watching and some of the imagery will stick with you but it definitely falls short of being the instant classic that the premise suggested it could be.

I really enjoy movies that keep you at the edge of your seat, and 97 Minutes did just that. It’s full of action, tension, and real emotion. The movie takes place on a hijacked plane with only 97 minutes of fuel left. What makes this movie more special is not just the danger it’s the tough choices, the surprises that arose and how people behave when every second counts. The actors, especially Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Alec Baldwin, did a great job making the story feel real and serious.

The Story

The movie starts fast: a plane has been hijacked in the air, and there’s not much time before it crashes. On board is a secret agent pretending to be a regular passenger. On the ground, the people in charge must decide whether to shoot down the plane or try to save the people on it. Every seconds that pass makes the situation look worst.

The Plot

The agent on the plane is making every effort to stop the bad guys without getting caught. At first He tries to stay calm and think fast. At the same time, the government leaders are watching the plane and making hard decisions. Some people's effort was to bring the plane down to protect people on the ground. If you like movies that are fast, serious, and full of emotion, 97 Minutes is worth watching. It’s short, intense, and full of surprises. You’ll feel like you’re right there with the characters, feeling their stress and hoping they make it out alive.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers gives a strong performance. You can see the pain and bravery in his face. Alec Baldwin, even though he’s not in every scene, plays his part with strength and wisdom.

Yet, the character’s role remains ancillary, his significance overshadowed by the plot’s broader mythological framework.

Beyond its historical milestones, How Sharper Than Serpent’s Tooth struggles to rise above mediocrity. As an animated episode, it capitalises on the medium’s potential to depict fantastical creatures—the Capellan power-cat, for instance, would have been impractical in live-action—but these visuals serve the plot rather than elevate it. The moral about humility and coexistence, though noble, is delivered in a manner too simplistic for adult audiences, while the action sequences, though energetic, lack the gravitas of TOS’s more memorable episodes. For casual viewers, it functions as a solid adventure story; for Trekkies, it feels like a rehash of ideas Star Trek had already explored more compellingly. The animated series, constrained by its format and limited budget, cannot match the gravitas of live-action performances or the intricate worldbuilding of later Trek iterations.

The premiere of the new Superman movie, which was directed and written by James Gunn, is having a positive opening at the box office. This movie was the front pillar to the rebirth of the DC studios under James Gunn and it had to be a success for other upcoming projects to succeed in the cinematic universe of the DC studios. It has been a year or two since James Gunn took over the DC studio and released his plans for the company going forward into the future, and it was not easy because he had to end the DCEU, and drop some main role cast to begin the new phase.

It caused a rocket among DC fans that sparked a lot of controversy on the internet as some fans were not happy with the new changes unfolding. The new Superman movie was different from what it used to be over the past years as James Gunn already pointed out doing the creation of the story that there won't be an origin story of Superman because frankly everyone knows how that story happens and there is no point remaking that same sense over and over in a reboot. The movie's main focus is on Superman's adaptation to planet Earth and how he can balance his two separate lives on the planet.

The Man of Steel was not only the main character of the film, but also the introduction to the Justice Gang followed in the movie. The Justice Gang members were Guy Gardner(greenlighten), Mr Terrific and Hawk Girl. The three characters above made their debut in the live-action movie as they had never been featured in one during the DCEU days. It was nice to see how James Gunn was able to explore the characters and fit them perfectly in the movie, and I can tell that won't be the last time they will appear on the screen, as there is still more to come from those characters.

The villain in this movie was the normal foe of Superman. Lex Luthor played a vital role in this movie as his obsession with Superman was off the charts. Nicholas Hoult did an amazing job portraying Lex Luthor, and I would have to say he has to be the best we have gotten so far over the years. I have to hand it to Games Gunn for putting together an incredible cast for the movie. The movie also showed how Superman was powerless in a political dispute as the Man of Steel is not bulletproof against the law.

The movie is on its way to making 600 million dollars at the box office, which is fair as it is one of the most successful hits from DC in a long time. In general, I would rate the movie an 8/10, which is fair, because I think James Gunn can do better in the long run. It was a great movie and you all should check it out. So that will be all for now. Ayer fui al cine y estaba entre ver Superman o The Fantastic Four First Steps, al final me decidí por este último ya que después de Thunderbolts creo que me Marvel se está reivindicando de todas las cagadas así que Superman tendrá que esperar poe una próxima ida al cine. Esta vez Matt Shakman hizo algo que parece como si hubiera salido directamente de los comics de los 60. Esa parte retro futurista está increible, desde los trajes hasta el Baxter Building todo se ve como si hubieran agarrado las páginas de Jack Kirby y las hubieran convertido en realidad, cada detalle visual funciona perfecto para crear ese mundo idealizado de los años 60 donde los científicos eran héroes y la tecnología prometía un futuro brillante. Pedro Pascal como Reed Richards al principio me sonaba raro porque no es exactamente el Reed de los comics pero logra darle una personalidad mas humana al personaje, de verdad se ve como un papá preocupado que usa su inteligencia para proteger a su familia en lugar del típico genio arrogante. Vanessa Kirby como Sue Storm está tremenda, por fin hay una Mujer Invisible que tiene personalidad propia y no es solo la novia del protagonista, especialmente esa escena donde inspira a todo el planeta a unirse contra Galactus me dio escalofrios de la buena manera. Joseph Quinn como Johnny Storm logra ese balance perfecto entre ser el hermano menor travieso pero sin llegar a ser insoportable como en las películas anteriores.

Me pareció que esa decisión de empezar la película cuatro años después del origen fue brillante porque nos se salta toda la parte aburrida de como obtuvieron sus poderes y se va directo a verlos como una familia establecida que ya funciona como equipo, explican el accidente cósmico en forma de documental y eso me pareció super creativo y eficiente. Me gustó mucho que parecen una familia, no son solo compañeros de trabajo como los Avengers sino que realmente se sienten como hermanos que se molestan pero se aman incondicionalmente y esa cena donde revelan que Sue está embarazada fue una buena muestra de como funcionan juntos en momentos normales. El diseño de The Thing está fenomenal, por fin hay un Ben Grimm que se ve como el personaje de los comics y no como una montaña de rocas naranjas mal hechas, Ebon Moss Bachrach le da una voz que suena familiar pero fresca al mismo tiempo. La secuencia en el espacio cuando van a confrontar a Galactus es probablemente lo mejor que ha hecho Marvel visualmente, me gustó mucho esa parte donde Sue da a luz en gravedad cero mientras Shalla Bal los persigue por lava derretida, esas son las ideas locas que necesitaba el MCU después de tantas películas genéricas. Julia Garner como Shalla Bal fue una sorpresa total, logra que el personaje tenga una presencia imponente sin necesidad de hablar mucho y cuando descubres su historia personal con Galactus es algo emotivo.

Creo que en la parte visual esta película está en otro nivel comparado con el resto del MCU reciente, hay una sensación de ambiente retro, además Galactus está diseñado de una forma que da miedo no es solo un tipo grande sino que se siente como una fuerza de la naturaleza que podría destruir planetas sin ni siquiera notarlo, esa escena donde ve el poder de Franklin y decide que quiere al bebé en lugar de la Tierra fue un cambio completo en la amenza y me pareció bastante inteligente. Los efectos especiales funcionan porque combinan CGI de alta calidad con efectos prácticos, los poderes de Reed se ven mas fluidos y naturales que en cualquier versión anterior, ya no parece que tenga brazos de plastico brillante sino que realmente se siente como carne y músculo estirándose. Los trajes azules clásicos se ven increibles en acción, no trataron de hacer versiones otras versiones sino que mantuvieron la esencia que hace únicos a estos personajes. Me gustó como usaron esa estética de ciencia ficción de los 60 pero a la vez es actualizada y moderna, los carros y la tecnología se ven futuristas pero con ese toque vintage.

Lo único que no me gustó mucho es que en algunas partes la película es como muy apurada, más en esa escena cuando están explicando el plan para mover la Tierra porque aunque la idea es genial fue como que si cortaron algunas cosas para llegar más rápido a ese moemtno de acción. También hay algunas decisiones de los personajes que no terminan de convencerme, como cuando Reed le dice a todo el mundo exactamente lo que Galactus quiere en lugar de buscar una manera más diplomática de manejar la situación, yo estaba en el cine así como que no lo digas y el lo soltó fue como muy raro para alguien que supuestamente es el hombre más inteligente del planeta. La película dura como dos horas pero la sentí corta porque el ritmo es super rápido, quizás me hubiese gustado que se tomara más tiempo para desarrollar algunas ideas como el tema de la paternidad cambia la perspectiva de Reed sobre el riesgo y la responsabilidad. El final con Galactus siendo empujado al portal está bien hecho pero me parece que fue demasiado fácil considerando lo imposible que parecía la situación, aunque entiendo que necesitaban cerrar la historia en una sola película. Aunque con estos detallitos creo que esta peli logra capturar la esencia de Fantastic Four mejor que cualquier adaptación anterior, son exploradores científicos que tambien son una familia disfuncional pero amorosa y es una combinación que los hace únicos en el universo Marvel.

Me parece que The Fantastic Four First Steps es una buena película y que le hacía falta al MCU para levantarse, es una peli optimista, familiar sin ser cursi y épica sin perder la escala humana que hace que te importen los personajes, Matt Shakman demostró que entendió perfectamente el tono que necesitaban y espero que le den más libertad en futuras entregas. La química entre los cuatro actores principales es tan buena que realmente quieres pasar más tiempo con estos personajes, es como una familia real con todos sus problemas y alegrías, no como actores recitando diálogos escritos y ya. Yo le doy un 8/10 porque cumple su objetivo de rehabilitar a estos personajes y establecer una base sólida para futuras aventuras, es entretenida de principio a fin y tiene suficientes momentos memorables. Hay una sorpresita con la escena post créditos con Dr Doom que probablemente es lo más emocionante que he visto en el MCU desde Endgame, ver esa silueta característica sosteniendo a Franklin Richards con Sue dándose cuenta de quien tenía a su hijo me dio escalofríos y ganas de que llegue ya la secuela. A mi parecer si Marvel sigue este camino respetando el material original el futuro de la primera familia se ve muy prometedor.

Yesterday I went to the movies and I was between seeing Superman or The Fantastic Four First Steps, in the end I decided for the latter since after Thunderbolts I think Marvel is vindicating itself from all the screw-ups so Superman will have to wait for a next trip to the movies. This time Matt Shakman did something that looks like it came straight out of the 60's comics. That retro futuristic part looks amazing, from the costumes to the Baxter Building everything looks like they took the pages of Jack Kirby and turned them into reality, every visual detail works perfectly to create that idealized world of the 60's where scientists were heroes and technology promised a bright future. Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards at first sounded weird to me because he's not exactly the Reed from the comics but he manages to give a more human personality to the character, he really comes across as a concerned dad who uses his intelligence to protect his family instead of the typical arrogant genius. Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm is tremendous, finally there is an Invisible Woman who has her own personality and is not just the main character's girlfriend, especially that scene where she inspires the whole planet to unite against Galactus gave me chills in a good way. Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm strikes that perfect balance between being the mischievous younger brother but without becoming unbearable like in the previous films.

I thought that decision to start the movie four years after the origin was brilliant because it skips all the boring part of how they got their powers and goes straight to seeing them as an established family that already works as a team, they explain the cosmic accident in documentary form and I thought that was super creative and efficient. I really liked that they seem like a family, they're not just co-workers like the Avengers but really feel like siblings who annoy each other but love each other unconditionally and that dinner where they reveal that Sue is pregnant was a good display of how they work together in normal times. The design of The Thing is phenomenal, finally there is a Ben Grimm that looks like the character from the comics and not a mountain of badly done orange rocks, Ebon Moss Bachrach gives him a voice that sounds familiar but fresh at the same time. The sequence in space when they go to confront Galactus is probably the best thing Marvel has done visually, I really liked that part where Sue gives birth in zero gravity while Shalla Bal chases them through molten lava, those are the crazy ideas the MCU needed after so many generic movies. Julia Garner as Shalla Bal was a total surprise, she manages to make the character have an imposing presence without needing to talk much and when you discover her personal history with Galactus it's kind of touching.

I think on the visual side this movie is on another level compared to the rest of the recent MCU, there is a retro ambient feel, plus Galactus is designed in a scary way he's not just a big guy but he feels like a force of nature that could destroy planets without even noticing, that scene where he sees Franklin's power and decides he wants the baby instead of Earth was a complete change in the menace and I thought it was pretty clever. The special effects work because they combine high quality CGI with practical effects, Reed's powers look more fluid and natural than in any previous version, he no longer looks like he has shiny plastic arms but actually feels like flesh and muscle stretching. The classic blue suits look amazing in action, they didn't try to make versions of other versions but kept the essence that makes these characters unique. I liked how they used that 60's sci-fi aesthetic but at the same time it's updated and modern, the cars and technology look futuristic but with that vintage touch.

The only thing I didn't like a lot is that in some parts the movie is like very rushed, more in that scene when they are explaining the plan to move the Earth because although the idea is great it was like if they cut some things to get faster to that action moemtno. There are also some character decisions that don't quite convince me, like when Reed tells everyone exactly what Galactus wants instead of looking for a more diplomatic way to handle the situation, I was in the theater so like don't say it and he blurts it out it was like really weird for someone who is supposedly the smartest man on the planet. The movie is about two hours long but I felt it was short because the pacing is super fast, maybe I would have liked it to have taken more time to develop some ideas like the fatherhood theme changes Reed's perspective on risk and responsibility. The ending with Galactus being pushed into the portal is well done but I feel like it was too easy considering how impossible the situation seemed, although I understand they needed to close the story in one movie. Although with these little details I think this movie manages to capture the essence of Fantastic Four better than any previous adaptation, they are scientific explorers who are also a dysfunctional but loving family and it's a combination that makes them unique in the Marvel universe.

I think The Fantastic Four First Steps is a good movie and it was needed for the MCU to stand up, it is an optimistic movie, familiar without being cheesy and epic without losing the human scale that makes you care about the characters, Matt Shakman showed that he understood perfectly the tone they needed and I hope they give him more freedom in future installments. The chemistry between the four main actors is so good that you really want to spend more time with these characters, it's like a real family with all their problems and joys, not actors reciting scripted dialogue and that's it. I give it an 8/10 because it accomplishes its goal of rehabilitating these characters and laying a solid foundation for future adventures, it's entertaining from start to finish and has enough memorable moments. There is a little surprise with the post credits scene with Dr Doom which is probably the most exciting thing I've seen in the MCU since Endgame, seeing that signature silhouette holding Franklin Richards with Sue realizing who had her son gave me chills and a desire for the sequel to arrive already. In my opinion if Marvel follows this path respecting the source material the future of the first family looks very promising.

Such a thought provoking life situation is what the theme of this movie captures, complexity of human nature, family, Relationship and identity. Although I am not a fan of Drama, but I find my self Glue to my Laptop screen from the Beginning of the Movie to the End of the Movie. I saw a movie recap on YouTube last week, I got connected to the concept of the movie, so I downloaded it after so many satisfactory reviews from people.

The professor is a Drama film that is directed by: Wayne Roberts, the film stars Johnny Depp as Professor Richard, Rosemarie DeWitt, Odessa Young, and Danny Huston.

The Film tells the story of Richard Brown (Johnny Depp), he is a middle-aged university professor who is abruptly diagnosed with a terminal illness (Cancer of the Lungs), He was told by the doctor that he only has a few months to live. As Richard comes to terms with his mortality, he begins to reevaluate his life and relationships. He starts to question the meaning of his existence and the impact he has had on those around him.

What I Like about the Movie

I like the Theme of the Film, which explores several thought-provoking themes, including instances of mortality, finding your identity, and the handling human condition, regardless of the complexity. I was left in deep though on some important questions about how we live our lives, how we treat others, and what truly matters in the end. I love the parts where He gave His Students the choice to either leave his Classes if they are genuinely not interested in the Subjects, he promised them to give them C grade regardless of their decision, or stay behind and enjoy the Unconventional methods of teaching he will use.

Few students remain true had some crazy adventures with their professor like going to the pub, taking lectures outside their classes, having true heartfelt conversations, and freedom. He supported his Daughter that professed she is lesbian, He really had a true moments of happiness after letting go of all his Worries. I also like the performance from the casts.

Johnny Depp delivers a genuine, down to earth and introspective performance as Richard Brown. His portrayal of a man struggling to come to terms with his own mortality is both heartbreaking and relatable. Depp brings a depth and complexity to the character, and his performance is a highlight of the film.

Also Rosemarie DeWitt shines as Richard's wife, Veronica, bringing a sense of warmth and compassion to the role. Have you ever watched a movie that made you question your intelligence, and not in a positive way? I just saw the movie "A Working Man" and it really made me doubt my intellect. At first, I thought it was because I wasn't fully focused on the film, as I was simultaneously working on a crochet project, so I decided to watch it again and I wasn't wrong to doubt it initially.

Levon Cade (Jason Statham) left behind a distinguished career to live a simple life working in construction. When his boss's daughter is kidnapped by human traffickers, his search to bring her home uncovers a deeper and more widespread corruption than he ever imagined.

Now, he must navigate the tangled web of corruption to rescue his boss's daughter and make it back safely to his own daughter; completely on his own.

This action thriller, directed by David Ayer, has a runtime of 1 hour and 56 minutes. Released on March 28, 2025, the film features a cast of seasoned actors including Jason Statham, Arianna Rivas, Michael Peña, Eve Mauro and Noemí González.

My Opinion.

I found the beginning of the film to be noticeably lackluster and devoid of energy. Despite being an action movie, the initial scenes were surprisingly dull, with little to join actual action taking place. This absence of dynamic sequence created a slow and uninspiring start that led to a lack of anticipation for what was to come. Instead of the excitement typically expected from the genre, the beginning felt flat. I found myself rethinking my decision to watch this film in the first place.

However, it wasn't until the latter part of the film that the true action element finally came to the forefront. Levon Cade fully embraced his military background, launching into an intense mode of combat, dismantling anyone and anything that obstructed his path. While these sequences delivered some adrenaline rush and intensity, judging by Jason Statham's previous performances in similar roles, his portrayal here felt like 'bare minimum'. It lacked the remarkable energy and charisma that Statham is known for. This resulted in a performance that, while competent, did not particularly stand out.

Jason Statham as Levon Cade, delivered a satisfactory performance, however, the supporting cast's performances felt forced and lacked authenticity. It felt as if they were not given sufficient time to fully embody their roles. This was particularly evident with the actors playing the abductors of Levon's boss's daughter. While they attempted to project a tough and menacing presence, their performance leaned more towards delivering dialogue than convincingly portraying the intensity expected of such antagonists. Their uneven performances disrupted the flow of the film, and every time they appeared on screen, I was put off.

The plot of the movie was highly predictable, adhering to the familiar tropes of an ex-military man returning to action due to unforeseen circumstances. The storyline followed the conventional trajectory, making it easy for anyone with a basic sense of narrative structure to anticipate the outcome from the very beginning. This predictability led to a lack of depth and complexity, offering little in terms of surprising twists.

Additionally, the film suffered from irregular pacing with unevenly spaced scenes that disrupted the flow of the narrative.

Recommendation and Rating.

As evident from my review, I did not find this movie particularly thrilling or engaging. Do I regret spending just a few minutes under two hours watching it? Absolutely. However, I endureed it so that you don't have to.

That said, if you're looking for a basic, straightforward action thriller film with familiar tropes and a predictable plot, this film may serve that purpose. Just do not expect too much depth or intensity as this movie was as straightforward as it could be.

I would rate the movie a 5/10 ; half of the score reflecting a competent and okay film, and the other half reserved for all the wasted and underused potentials.
