🌙 The Sandman

I can't even tell the amount of times I've seen “The Sandman” on my Netflix Movie list and avoided it each time.

Perhaps it was because I had been lately disappointed with overly flashy trailers and paper-thin characters and paper-thin plots of too many fantasy series. There was something that dragged me back though. Perhaps it is just the mutters I heard among followers of Neil Gaiman graphic novels. Or maybe it was the cold lifeless pictures of Morpheus--tall, pale, brooding, with stars in his eyes, and silence in his tread. Or then again, I simply needed to get out of myself into a more poetic reality than real life.

Neil Gaiman comics are known to be strange, surreal and perhaps even intellectual. Then, however, it turned into a cultural moment: the trailer with its mutters of Dream and Death, the casting, the visuals, it all fell into place.

Then I read somebody describe it as “one of the best, boldest, most creative shows Netflix has ever produced.” That, coupled with the hum of anticipation that “animated scenes are ripped off classic panels” , led me to think I might be seeing something memorable.

And so one quiet night I hit play.

And in a few minutes I was off. Not only to watch, but to dream with open eyes.

However, I did not get what I expected.

This is not all fantasy. It’s philosophy. Myth. Grief. Power. A polished human, with all the skin gone and replaced with velvet and ash.

The Sandman is more than a show. It is an experience that creeps into your head, sits in your chest and alters the way you look at stories, grief, and sleep itself.

In the first episode, Dream - also referred to as Morpheus, Lord of the Dreaming - is captured by mortal occultists during a botched ritual. He loses his tools, is imprisoned more than a century, and during his absence the world starts falling apart. Human beings enter into eternal slumber. Dreams turn into nightmares. In dark crevices of the mind chaos blossoms.

However, Morpheus is not just any other hero. He is not noisy. He does not make speeches or punch walls. He is mysterious, dangerous, melancholic. Dream, perfectly played by Tom Sturridge, whispers, and the voice sounds like thunder covered with silk. When he makes an appearance, the air moves.

It was not his strength that impressed me, but his isolation. His mute pain. He is a god who has lost his way to connect. And to see him re-learn that, via friendships, via betrayal, via grief, was hauntingly beautiful.

The Sandman unfolds in the human world as well as the Dreaming, a world that is as influenced by imagination, memory, fear, and desire. However, the atmosphere makes this series special. It does not only present your fantasy. It causes you to feel it.

The images are lyric: the dreamscapes, the libraries of old, the worlds of eternal darkness. It is lyrical writing. It seems each line is purposeful. You do not merely watch The Sandman but you drink it up like some weird delicately crafted poem.

Every episode has the feeling of a short story out of a collection of dreams; some of them are terribly emotional, some are horrifying, and all of them are memorable.

As well as Dream, The Sandman is full of complex characters. My favorite? Death.

Yes, Death.

Quietly radiant played by Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Death is not the grim reaper we were socialized to fear. She’s kind. Grounded. Humans. There is an episode, only one day with her company, when she walks with souls at the time of their death. And it broke me. In the kindest, most needed manner possible.

Next is Johanna Constantine, a cynical demon-exorcist who lives with a heavy burden of her past. And Rose Walker, a vortex of dreams, who does not even realize that she is breaking down the dimensions between worlds. and the Corinthian--as he is the nightmare with a grin full of teeth, so is he nearly seductive, in his hideousness.

Every character adds a human and raw element to the show. They are not mere fragments of a fantasy story. They are reflections, of trauma, of hope, of identity, of regret.

The Sandman isn’t about good vs. evil. It’s about balance. Change. Purpose. It asks questions you don’t expect from a fantasy series:

What happens when dreams die?

What do we owe the people we create?

Can gods change?

Are we more ourselves in dreams than in waking life?

One is the one that barely even involves Dream at all- it is about a man who is given immortality. Dream visits him in a pub once every century. It is one episode which caused me to weep. Not due to spectacle, but due to the sincere, barbaric gaze of time, loneliness, and the purpose of belonging.

The feeling of watching The Sandman was like walking across the silent nooks and crannies of my mind. It forced me to look at aspects of myself that I neglect in day-to-day life, the child who still follows dreams, the grown-up who loses things and grieves, the poet who prefers to shelter behind work.

It told me that dreams count. That they are sacred. That the dreams that we dream at night are as true as the realities of the day.

I began to write a journal again after completing the series. Not only goals or plans, dreams. Nightmares. Symbols. I recalled how I used to believe so in the power of the unseen. And I desired that again.

The television show did not only amuse me. It transformed me.

Naturally, not everyone can like The Sandman. It is draggy here and there. It does not give all the explanations. It meanders. It is more of a reflection than a solution. Yet perhaps that is the point. Dreams do not follow the straight and narrow. They are not supposed to be easy. They are supposed to be experienced, struggled over, recalled… or not.

However, when you give in--and I mean really give in--The Sandman will take you somewhere that you did not realize you had to go.

If you’re tired of formulaic fantasy… If you crave stories with soul… If you want to feel something ancient, strange, and uncomfortably beautiful…

Then dream with The Sandman.

It’s more than a show. It’s an elegy for the stories we lose when we stop believing. It’s a love letter to those of us who feel too much, dream too hard, or ache too often.

And if you’re like me, by the time the credits roll, you’ll be changed. Just a little. But deeply.

Because sometimes, all it takes is one dream to wake you up.

Hay momentos en la vida que, aunque pasen los años, permanecen intactos en la memoria como fotografías animadas llenas de risas y calidez. Para muchos de los que crecimos en los años noventa, las tardes después de la escuela tenían un ritual sagrado: Sintonizar la televisión de señal abierta, a partir de las 5 de la tarde, para ver El Chavo del 8 y El Chapulín Colorado.

Era como si el tiempo se detuviera, y el mundo exterior (con sus tareas pendientes y problemas infantiles) desaparecía ante el niño humilde y huérfano y las aventuras del héroe más torpe pero noble de la televisión.

No importaba si ya habíamos visto ese mismo capítulo tres, siete u ochos veces antes; la magia seguía intacta, como un abrazo familiar que nunca perdía su efecto reconfortante. Los días eran la felicidad de una antena y un sillón desgastado. No hacía falta Netflix, ni plataformas de streaming. There are moments in life that, even as the years pass, remain intact in our memories, like animated photographs filled with laughter and warmth. For many of us who grew up in the 1990s, afternoons after school had a sacred ritual: Tuning in to free-to-air television, starting at 5 p.m., to watch El Chavo del 8 and El Chapulín Colorado.

It was as if time stood still, and the outside world (with its pending homework and childhood problems) disappeared before the humble, orphaned child and the adventures of television's most clumsy but noble hero.

It didn't matter if we'd seen that same episode three, seven, or eight times before; the magic remained intact, like a family hug that never lost its comforting effect. The days were the happiness of an antenna and a worn-out armchair. No Netflix or streaming platforms were needed. The magic came through an antenna that sometimes received a poor signal, but never robbed us of the thrill of hearing that opening cry: "More agile than a turtle, stronger than a mouse! Nobler than a lettuce, his shield is a heart... It's... Chapulín Colorado." There he was, with his red suit, his heart, his vinyl antennas, and his iconic phrases: "Don't panic," "They didn't count on my cunning," "Follow me, the good ones." Each episode was a capsule of pure joy, where absurd situations and witty dialogue made us forget any unpleasantness.

It was impossible not to laugh, even when we already knew the episodes by heart. The genius of Roberto Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito) lay in his ability to create universal comedy, without an expiration date. The jokes worked the first, the fifth, and the twentieth time. And even though the years passed, even though we were no longer children, there was something comforting about rewatching those episodes; it was as if they were a refuge from adulthood. That was the magic of Chespirito: he created stories that, despite their simplicity, had an emotional depth that transcended generations.

When our children inherit laughter

Time passes, and what was once ours is now theirs. It's curious to see how the new generations, raised in a world of digital animation and hyperactive YouTubers, get hooked on the same simple but effective plots of El Chapulín. My daughter, accustomed to the special effects of current animated series, burst out laughing one day at the episode in which Chapulín tries to rescue a helpless woman. Comedy doesn't need algorithms or million-dollar budgets; it just needs heart. And that's what Chespirito understood better than anyone.

Today, when I watch an episode on YouTube or a TV show, I'm once again that child who eagerly awaited afternoons of laughter, but now sharing that happiness with those who come after us. It's beautiful to see how the jokes that made us laugh now provoke the same laughter in our children. It's as if time has come full circle, uniting our childhoods through the screen. And that, in such a changing world, is a priceless gift.

La genialidad de Roberto Gómez Bolaños (Chespirito) residía en su capacidad de hacer comedia universal, sin fecha de caducidad. Los chistes funcionaban la primera, la quinta y la vigésima vez. Y aunque pasaran los años, aunque dejáramos de ser niños, había algo reconfortante en volver a ver esos episodios, es como si fueran un refugio contra la adultez. Esa era la magia de Chespirito: creaba historias que, a pesar de su simpleza, tenían una profundidad emocional que trascendía generaciones.

Cuando nuestros hijos heredan la risa

El tiempo pasa, y lo que un día fue nuestro ahora es de ellos. Es curioso ver cómo las nuevas generaciones, criadas en un mundo de animación digital y youtubers hiperactivos, se enganchan con las mismas tramas simples pero efectivas de El Chapulín. Mi hija, acostumbrada a los efectos especiales de las series animadas actuales, un día soltó una carcajada con el episodio en el que Chapulín intenta rescatar a una mujer desvalida. La comedia no necesita algoritmos ni presupuestos millonarios; solo necesita corazón. Y eso es lo que Chespirito entendió mejor que nadie.

Hoy, cuando pongo un capítulo en YouTube o en alguna retransmisión televisiva, vuelvo a ser ese niño que esperaba con ansias las tardes de risas, pero ahora compartiendo esa felicidad con quienes vienen después. Es hermoso ver cómo los chistes que nos hicieron reír a nosotros ahora provocan las mismas carcajadas en nuestros hijos. Es como si el tiempo hubiera hecho un círculo perfecto, uniendo nuestras infancias a través de la pantalla. Y eso, en un mundo tan cambiante, es un regalo invaluable.

En 2025, la bioserie Chespirito llegó para recordarnos que detrás del genio cómico había un hombre de carne y hueso, con luces, sombras y contradicciones. La producción, protagonizada por un brillante Pablo Cruz Guerrero, no solo explora el éxito artístico de Gómez Bolaños, sino también sus batallas personales: su obsesión por el trabajo, su relación compleja con Florinda Meza, los conflictos con algunos miembros del elenco original y la manera en que su legado se convirtió en una carga y una bendición al mismo tiempo. These less bright sides reminded us that even the most beloved idols are human, with mistakes and contradictions.

Should idols be perfect? Perhaps not. What remains, in the end, is their work. And that work gave us pure joy, without calculations or pretensions. El Chapulín Colorado wasn't just a program; it was a reminder that, even in a world full of chaos, there's always room for clumsy kindness, for the hero who stumbles but never gives up. Chespirito taught us that laughter can be an act of resilience, a way to face life with optimism, even when things don't go as we expect.

Nostalgia Is Also a Superpower

Today, when I see my daughter laugh at the same scenes that made me happy decades ago, I understand that Chapulín's true superpower wasn't his squeaky chip or his toy hammer, but his ability to unite generations. In an increasingly fragmented world, where childhood is lived between individual screens and ephemeral content, there's something beautiful in knowing that there's still an "Oh, and now, who can defend me?" that makes us smile just as much as before. Roberto Gómez Bolaños is no longer with us, but his laughter—our laughter—lives on. And as long as there's a child (or an adult who remembers being one) willing to shout "Follow me, the good ones," Chapulín will continue to fly high, even if with slightly crooked wings. Because, in the end, as he himself said: "They didn't count on my cunning." And cunning, in this case, is the magic of turning simple memories into memorable nostalgia. The Trouble with Tribbles is frequently cited as the most beloved episode of Star Trek: The Original Series (TOS), and its whimsical blend of comedy, tension, and clever worldbuilding has secured it a place among the most celebrated instalments in the entire Star Trek franchise. It is thus no surprise that such a popular episode would inspire a sequel, much like the phenomenon of cinematic sequels capitalising on a beloved source material. The Animated Series (TAS) episode More Tribbles, More Troubles, written by the original’s creator David Gerrold, emerged as a direct follow-up to that iconic story, capitalising on the enduring appeal of tribbles and the Star Trek universe’s established lore. While the animated format presented both opportunities and constraints, the episode’s existence underscores the franchise’s willingness to revisit its most cherished moments, even if the results were inevitably tempered by the realities of its medium.

The origins of More Tribbles, More Troubles are as interesting as its narrative. Gerrold, who wrote the original script for The Trouble with Tribbles, had initially intended it to be part of TOS’s third season, but the show’s cancellation in 1969 scuppered those plans. Despite Gerrold’s public critiques of Gene Roddenberry in his 1973 book The World of Star Trek—particularly his dissatisfaction with Roddenberry’s creative decisions—the pair maintained mutual respect. After rescuing the scout’s sole survivor—Cyrano Jones, the roguish trader responsible for the tribble infestation in The Trouble with Tribbles—the crew learns of a new twist. Jones explains that the tribbles he now carries are a genetically modified variant: instead of reproducing exponentially, they grow to enormous sizes, a trait he claims was counterbalanced by introducing glommers, tribble predators. However, the glommer have since been unable to deal with oversized prey, leaving the Enterprise to contend with rapidly expanding tribbles that threaten to overwhelm the ship. Meanwhile, the Klingon captain Koloth demands the return of Jones and the glommer, revealing the creature was engineered by the Klingons themselves to combat a tribble plague on their territory. The ensuing conflict pits Kirk and Spock against the Klingons’ advanced energy weapon, which drains quickly but incapacitates targets, forcing the crew to find a diplomatic resolution.

The episode’s most glaring limitation is its medium. While TOS’s live-action format allowed for rich character moments and nuanced dialogue, TAS’s animation—despite its vibrant aesthetic—struggled to replicate that depth. The condensed runtime of TAS episodes, typically under 20 minutes, further restricted opportunities for subplots or intricate worldbuilding. More Tribbles, More Troubles, at just 22 minutes, feels rushed in comparison to the original’s 50-minute runtimeEven the tribbles themselves, now giants instead of swarms, lack the same charm as their predecessors, their physical comedy overshadowed by the plot’s urgency. The Klingons, too, are reduced to adversaries rather than nuanced antagonists, their motives rooted in a simplistic desire for control rather than the political intrigue of the original episode.

Despite these constraints, Gerrold’s script demonstrates a deft hand at balancing homage and originality. The core elements of The Trouble with Tribbles—Kirk’s leadership, Spock’s logic, and the comedic chaos of alien creatures—are preserved, even if their execution is scaled down. Stanley Adams, who portrayed Cyrano Jones in the original, returns to voice the character, infusing the role with the same sly charm that made him memorable. However, the absence of William Marshall, who voiced Koloth in TOS, is keenly felt. Replaced by James Doohan (Scotty), the role lacks Marshall’s gravitas, rendering Koloth’s threats less intimidating. The energy weapon and glommer plotlines, while inventive, feel tacked-on, serving more as plot devices than meaningful extensions of the universe.

The episode’s comedic moments are mild compared to the original’s brilliance. The tribbles’ rapid growth provides some visual gags but their novelty is undercut by the episode’s brevity. The resolution feels rushed, skipping over the moral dilemmas and interpersonal dynamics that elevated the original. Even the glommer’s introduction, a clever nod to ecological balance, is underexplored, its significance confined to a quick reveal.

Ultimately, More Tribbles, More Troubles is a serviceable entry in the Star Trek canon, but it lacks the spark that made its predecessor immortal. It succeeds as a faithful homage, retaining the spirit of its source material while acknowledging the creative and practical boundaries of TAS. For fans of Gerrold’s work or TAS, it offers a glimpse into the writer’s creative process and the series’ attempt to sustain TOS’s legacy. Yet, it is a reminder of the challenges inherent in adapting beloved stories into a constrained format. The episode’s value lies not in surpassing its predecessor but in existing as a curious footnote—a testament to Star Trek’s enduring charm and the industry’s willingness to revisit its triumphs, even when the results are less than ideal. <

En su viaje vamos con ella a través de flashback que nos trasladan al verano anterior y luego de vuelta al 17 pero es fácil de reconocer pues Cadence se tiñe el cabello de negro, lo que hace más fácil identificar el presente. En el verano 17 toda la familia está muy extraña y hasta parece que las hermanas Sinclair han dejado sus diferencias en el pasado, tal vez lo que pasó el verano pasado les sirvió de lección.

Es una serie fácil de ver, una historia adolescente que tiene mucho más que analizar, porque además de su posición privilegiada también están las relaciones entre ellos como primos y hermanos. Aunque para mí lo que más resalta es la toma de las malas decisiones, niños malcriados que no piensan en las consecuencias porque saben que todo lo resuelven con dinero, destruyendo todo porque lo pueden volver a reconstruir, pero que no siempre las cosas salen como se cree y la vida les dará una lección a toda la familia. Solo puedo decir que lloré con el final, esperaba algo mucho más turbio y no tan triste pero que no puedo decir mas porque aquí si estaría cometiendo el mayor pecado contando algo. Solo tienen que verla, tiene ocho capítulos y en el octavo se revela que pasó el verano 16.

En el 2021 era difícil que cualquier persona no hubiera visto alguna producción asiática, preferible de Corea del Sur; personalmente la primera de este tipo de producciones (serie de TV) que vi y disfrute fue "Squid Game", un thriller de supervivencia con muchos elementos de terror que me sorprendió por el hecho de creer que algunos (o todos) de sus personajes pueden existir en la vida real; cada episodio contaba con una carga excesiva de tensión, drama y suspenso que era imposible no dejar de ver y que al momento de finalizar la temporada, se sintió correcto sin importar el cliffhanger porque me sentí satisfecho con lo visto, pero en el mundo del entretenimiento el éxito es equivalente a su extensión lo cual siempre hace transitar a este tipo de productos en repetir ese éxito o ser un fracaso.

En esta temporada así como en toda la serie, la humanidad estará siempre en duda y es que la base de toda esta producción es ver hasta donde puedes llegar para alcanzar un objetivo que puede cambiar radicalmente toda tu vida, pero en esta oportunidad estoy completamente seguro que existe menos bondad de la que hubo en la primera temporada, esto recordando que la historia se relata desde el punto de vista de un hombre que dirige una serie de juegos mortales, es por eso que lo que ha vivido El Líder en muchos años es una masacre tras otra y entiende que la humanidad no existe como tal y que justamente los juegos solo acelera un comportamiento que cada vez parece ser más normal en la sociedad.

Lo cual la respuesta al final seguirá siendo, el que se crea más inteligente, fuerte y, en este caso, el que se despegue por completo de toda empatía; esto es sorprendente y que nuevamente está muy bien desarrollado en la historia.

Hi movie lovers, how is the weather treating you in your various locations? It’s been a really cold weather this period. So two days ago I decided to watch this movie that has been on my watchlist for a while now-Black Widow. The movie name just seemed interesting and then I found out it is a Marvel Production but I’m not really a fan so I just decided to watch the movie through the lens of a bored lady looking for how to pass time.

PLOT SUMMARY Black Widow began with a flashback of a young Natasha that’s living a quiet life in Ohio with her younger sister Yelena, Melina her mother, and her father Alexei. But the family was a lie. They were actually undercover Russian agents. After their mission ended, they fled to Cuba, where the girls got separated from their "parents" and then sent to the Red Room, a secret program that brainwashed girls into deadly assassins known as Black Widows.

Years later, Natasha was seen on the run for violating the Sokovia Accords and hid in Norway. Meanwhile, Yelena who was now grown, got freed from mind control after her exposure to a red gas which they called “antidote”. She sends the antidote to Natasha, hoping she would help liberate the other Widows since she was seen as a hero after she joined the avengers.

Natasha then got attacked by the mysterious Taskmaster, who mimics any opponent’s fighting style. She escaped and reunited with Yelena her sister in Budapest. They discovered that the Red Room was still active, led by Dreykov whom Natasha believed she had killed along with his daughter some years ago.

They break their “father” Alexei who was also seen as the Red Guardian out of prison and located Melina, who reveals that she has been helping Dreykov develop mind control tech. But with a clever identity swap with Melina, Natasha infiltrated the Red Room, which was surprisingly a floating fortress, which explains why no one could find it for so long.

She confronted Dreykov and disabled his pheromonal lock by breaking her own nose. And then, a massive battle followed with Yelena freeing the Widows, Alexei fighting the Taskmaster, and Melina destroying the base. Natasha saved Yelena mid-air after a fiery explosion when she made sure to jeopardize Dreykov’s jet making sure not to allow him escape.

MOVIE REVIEW

So yea, spoiler alert…I’m not going to be reviewing this movie from the POV of a Marvel fan. I’ll just be reviewing it like a regular movie watcher, so please don’t be pissed if it doesn’t rhyme with your analogy.

This movie taught me two major things which are, Family and Trust.

On the family side, I think the movie did a really good job showing that family is not necessarily about blood ties. The family Natasha and Yelena found themselves in wasn’t perfect at all, but at the end of the day, the bond they shared was what really saved the day. There were indeed rough moments, disagreements, and a lot of baggage, but it reflected the reality that even real families have bad days. The scene where Yelena cried in Melina’s place because she got to know that the family wasn’t real even though it felt real to her, was such an emotional one. What stood out was how they still remembered the love they had for each other and chose to fight side by side when it truly mattered.

On the side of Trust, I have to talk about the plot twist where Natasha exchanged identity with Melina just so they could penetrate the Red Room to defeat Dreykov. That scene caught me off guard! I genuinely didn’t see it coming and I think it was one of the most brilliant parts of the movie. It showed deep trust between them to be able to plan and pull that off under such pressure.

Also, the fact that they still chose to trust their “dad” to help them even after he literally handed them over to go through the kind of torture they went through, says a lot about how sometimes trust isn’t about what has happened in the past, but about who you believe someone is, deep down.

Overall, I’ll rate this movie a solid 8/10 It was packed with action, some loving moments, and some powerful lessons wrapped in one package that kept me glued to my screen.

The plot is extremely funny and simple in equal parts, it only focuses on showing all kinds of absurd and stupid situations that are funny. Narratively it is basic, it is a film that is style over substance, its focus is on showing silly comedy constantly, you could say that it tries to give advice about relationships and how to move forward even if they end but it would be pretentious to think that this film had double intentions or a moderately deep message, however, its funny situations are entertaining enough to make it enjoyable and its duration is very enjoyable.

La trama es sumamente divertida y simple a partes iguales, la misma únicamente se centra en mostrar toda clase de situaciones absurdas y estúpidas que hacen gracia. Narrativamente es básica, es una cinta que es estilo sobre sustancia, su enfoque se centra en mostrar comedia tonta constantemente, se podría decir que se intenta dar un consejo sobre las relaciones y como hay que avanzar pese a que estas se terminen pero sería pretencioso pensar que dicha película tuviese dobles intenciones o un mensaje medianamente profundo, no obstante, sus situaciones graciosas son lo suficientemente entretenidas como para hacerla disfrutable y que su duración sea muy amena.

ZOOTOPIA!
I will neither confirm nor deny the claim that I’m reviewing this piece because I’ve seen countless edits of Nick Wilde, and I’m totally in my HEAR ME OUT phase where he is concerned. But yeah, the weekend is already upon us, so I, in all my cinematic generosity, have decided to gift you with a movie you certainly must have seen before, but is worth seeing way more than once. Come with me on this animated ride!

Zootopia (2016)

It’s a world of anthropomorphic animals and Judy Hobbs has just become the first rabbit police officer in Zootopia. As the rookie of the department, her first duty by the Chief of Police is parking duty. However, she gets hustled by a chief con artist, Nick Wilde.

After Judy takes up the case of finding the predators that are getting missing in numbers in Zootopia, she blackmails Nick into helping her solve the mystery that may just as well be a wild goose chase. In a world where less is more and looks, more than anything, can be deceiving, this most unlikely duo is about to realize that in Zootopia, almost nothing is as it seems.

I will say that there’s a reason I remember the storyline of this animation even though it’s been nearly ten years since its release, and that’s because I believe it was that much of a masterpiece. From the cinematography to the lights, sounds, and general storyline, Zootopia just has this unforgettable feel to it that makes it relatable even though it’s an animal world.

I loved the casting of this film, and when I realized that the role of Nick Wilde was played, or I mean voice acted by Jason Bateman, a lot of things made more sense. The smooth-talking, perpetual smirk-filled expressions. It was everything. Also, it’s an animal movie, you do not need to remind me but the chemistry between Nick and Judy was everything. Even without all the wild edits that bring flirtatious moments that I was probably too young or too movie-engrossed to have noticed, they definitely had that vibe and chemistry that just keeps you glued to the movie.

Finally, can you talk about Zootopia without talking about comedy? Everything in this movie was comedy-prime and everyone just made me laugh. I cannot tell you how many times you will literally cackle in this movie. It is hilarious beyond words. It’s a perfect film to see with your family and friends. Totally family-friendly and everyone is sure to learn a lesson from Zootopia without a doubt. I think that’s about it, really. Do not say Cine TV did nothing for you. We bring to you the best. Squid Game: Season 1-3 Review
I didn’t have plans of watching season 3 of Squid game this soon but I got tired of the horrible reviews I was seeing everywhere and decided to go find out myself. So today being a Holiday, I decided to put everything aside and dig in. Now let me give you my honest review about Squid Game Season 1 to 3 and then you can decide if you should watch it.

Squid Game is a Korean survival thriller series created by Hwang Dong-Hyuk. In this series, about hundreds of people who were in huge debts all over Korea were given the opportunity to play children’s games for money. The twist in this series is that they weren’t told that in the games they were going to play, it’s either you win or die. Nobody was going to get out alive except the winner.

Even after the players found out that it’s either they win or die, they still chose to play. Yes, that’s how money-crazed the characters in the series were. The games happened in a confined place on an island where it was really hard for people to find. That meant no matter how hard you try to escape as a player, you are still going to end up dead.

Let me begin by talking about the effort which was put into this series. My mind was absolutely blown away by so many things. From props to production to the setting and everything. Squid Game itself is known for the costumes, the setting and the games. It might sound like it’s all hype until you watch the series and see for yourself.

The characters. Oh my, oh my. I told my friend that I won’t be surprised if some of the characters in this series were born purposely for the series. I know it might sound funny but that should tell you how good the characters were. There’s no way you will watch Squid Game and won’t be drawn into it through how the characters behave.

Let’s talk about my favourite thing in this series: the storyline, the twists and unexpected turns. I literally gave a standing ovation for the storyline and the unexpected twists of each season, especially season 3. What?! I was so shocked as to how the writer even thought of that. I believe I’m definitely not the only one who was shocked by how Season 3 turned out. Imagine a baby winning life or death games. Yes, nobody saw that coming.

Aside from how entertaining this series was, I believe I learned so many things. The number one being betrayal. Anyone can betray you at any point in life as far as it benefits them. I was so shocked when at one point in the game, they wanted to kill a baby so they could get more money. Even the baby’s father was involved. I think they really did a great job on this series and season was just worth it. This is a 10/10 for me.

He estado disfrutando de varias series, pero saben que solo me detengo a comentar si alguna me llama mucho la atención. He notado últimamente aumento en series donde el talento de las mujeres, simples mujeres amas de casa puede resultar muy útil a la hora de resolver crímenes.

Y es porque las mamás detectan detalles que a un detective podrían pasar por alto. Sin duda las madres son detectores de mentiras y de detalles que a otros podrían pasarles por alto. Y si lo unimos a una mente súper privilegiada será caso resuelto.

Me llamo la atención esta detective súper inesperada, con un alto potencial intelectual de paso, que limpia la oficina de la policía. Mientras realiza la limpieza tropieza con las fotografías, se detiene frente a la pizarra de un asesinato y una sospechosa desaparecida y termina cambiando el rumbo de su historia, ordenando y colocando a la sospechosa como victima también.

La serie se llama "Alto Potencial" (High Potential), donde una mujer que se dedica a la limpieza y sabe que tiene una gran capacidad intelectual y una compulsión por ordenar, termina convirtiéndose en asesora de la policía.

Creo que hay varias series por allí con ese tema, amas de casa, con extrañas habilidades, que a pesar de su trabajo como limpiadora, posee una inteligencia excepcional y esto le permite resolver crímenes de una manera brillante.

I've been enjoying several series, but you know I only stop to comment if one really catches my attention. I've noticed a rise lately in series where the talent of women, simple housewives, can be very useful when it comes to solving crimes.

And it's because moms detect details that a detective might miss. Without a doubt, mothers are lie detectors and detect details that others might miss. And if we combine that with a super-privileged mind, it'll be a case solved.

My attention was caught by this super-unexpected detective, with a high intellectual potential, who cleans the police office. While cleaning, she stumbles upon the photographs, stops in front of the whiteboard of a murder and a missing suspect, and ends up changing the course of her story, organizing and placing the suspect as a victim as well.

The series is called "High Potential," about a woman who works as a cleaner and knows she has a great intellectual capacity and a compulsion to organize, and ends up becoming a police advisor.

I think there are several series out there with that theme: housewives with strange abilities, who, despite their job as cleaners, possess exceptional intelligence, and this allows them to solve crimes brilliantly.

De verdad esta muy nueva y ha sido renovada para una segunda temporada. Me ha gustado mucho.

La serie se centra en Morgan, una madre soltera con tres hijos que trabaja limpiando para el Departamento de Policía de Los Ángeles. Ella tiene un coeficiente intelectual de 160 de paso y la mete en muchos problemas.

Tras resolver su primer caso, utilizando su estilo de observación de los detalles, se convierte en asesora de la división de delitos graves de la policía de Los Ángeles.

De verdad comienza en forma muy divertida mientras vemos a una limpiadora bailando y luego ordenando las fotos mientras es vista por las cámaras de la oficina. La jefa del departamento de crímenes ve algo en ella diferente y le ofrece el trabajo como asesora.

While facing her own problems raising three children, trying to locate her husband who simply left one day and never returned, she manages to help the police solve crimes. Little by little, thanks to her skill and accuracy, she wins over her colleagues in the department.

It's really fresh and has been renewed for a second season. I really liked it.

The series centers on Morgan, a single mother of three who works as a cleaner for the Los Angeles Police Department. She has an IQ of 160, which gets her into a lot of trouble.

After solving her first case, using her attention-grabbing style, she becomes a consultant for the LAPD's Major Crimes Division.

It really starts off very funny as we see a cleaner dancing and then sorting through photos while being watched by the office cameras. The head of the crime department sees something different in her and offers her the job as a consultant.

The Silent Twins || Disturbingly So...
I’m not sure I’ve seen any disturbing film in the last couple of months but I got the chance to see one last week. I’m not sure the best words to describe this film because it is based on a true life story, and after reading about the lives of the Gibbon twins, this a story that will leave any and every one engrossed. Maybe not just in the best ways.

The Silent Twins (2022)

Like I said, I’m not sure how best to describe this film. But the movie begins with a very disturbing animation and two girls who I presume are the twins that use mostly their teeth to talk. They are pretending to be radio presenters and telling a lively story. The moment their Mom knocks on the door, they retreat into silence, and this more or less is everything this film is about.

They are incredibly talented when it comes to writing. Crafting the most vivid images with their words that are not exactly conventional but they are unique and true to them. When their works kept getting rejected by different publishing houses, they attribute this to a lack of inspiration because they don’t go out more, and don’t have a romantic life.

And so, they do. They set their sights on an American teenager who indoctrinates them into a world of alcohol, cigarettes and sex. On a note of inspiration from this teenager they idolize, they vandalize an establishment and are charged with arson and theft. They don’t get the help they need and are detained in a psychiatric hospital. They have two choices there. Stay together and die. Or separate and be free.

Because I know there are a lot of people who actively hated and were disgusted by the film, I’ll give my two cents. I found a few things contradicting. In the original story, the twins were painted as difficult people but moreso those around them like their families who were unwelcoming and their teachers who refused to give them the help they needed.

But in the movie, this was not the case. The entirety of the movie, in fact, was about how everyone around them kept rallying around and trying to get them the help they needed. Also, the ending where it seemed like nearly two decades or more had passed but everyone looked the same including their parents, that was kind of a loophole for me as well.

But to those saying that this movie is trash because you found it disturbing or the way the girls talked, disturbing. Or the animations, disturbing. That’s literally the whole point. This movie is not meant to be entertaining. It’s meant to be engrossing and reflective of two girls who were wronged by the system.

The Brontë girls talked to themselves and were definitely weird but they weren’t institutionalised, but these black girls, (because let’s face it, the reason why they weren’t given ample fair hearing and just left in that hospital to rot has a lot to do with their race), were abandoned.

I found too many things in the film disturbing and I’m guessing that this was the image that was supposed to be passed by the directors. The animation creeped me out, the way the sisters talked as well. Almost everything. But they had issues that were never really talked about or resolved. I, for one, would have liked to know what really pushed them to be silent. And I never got to really understand that.

But, it is what it is really. A disturbing watch, and you’re not sure what you learnt but I guess it doesn’t feel like much of a waste when you realize that it was based on a true story. I certainly wouldn’t have had glowing comments if this was someone’s nearly morbid imagination. Have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Watch this film, or not.

Anime Review ~ Dr. Stone: A Stone Age Revival | Journey Through Science and Survival
Hello Anime Lovers, Dr. Stone One Of The Greatest for me. I had watched Season 1 of it, Anime like Okay-Okay, but after Season 2, Instructed became my second favorite anime.

There will be some spoilers in this review, otherwise I will not be able to explain the plot. That is, I am sent to a world where there is no modern technology, as if some storage is running. But the humans living in this world have model knowledge – and why is this so, for this you will have to understand the plot.

So without any delay, let's talk about the Dr. Stone plot.

Story Overview

It is best to start when in the normal modern world, suddenly a green light was ill and all the human senses and voices turn into stone. And they do not die – they just remain imprisoned in the stone. If not because of the fans of humanity, then it recovers itself.

Thousands of years pass and here comes our main character Senku, who comes out of the stone after 3000 years. And he is very intelligent - I will say intelligent, he went to this goal.

He has a solution for everything. After coming out of the stone, he sees that the airplane mode whole thing which took 20 lakh years to develop, is now finished in a snap. And all the women have turned into stone. Science has disappeared from this world of speculations.

Senku sets out on his mission - to restore the maintenance. And in this journey, many problems come up. And to go there you will have to watch. This LMB Scientific Project has been shown to be very fun, and you are not going to get bored at all.

Technical Aspects

And talking about the background music, it is also very fun and very interesting.

So main reasons – distant – I don’t think they should not. I like comedy – this deep average balance between humans and serious. In the revision, the Saint Vincent del Bosque story is like this. It has a lot of sugar candy which has not yet become gravy – till the pimples.

And objective question – the reason for both of these, both are very good. But in the meantime, the laughter in its comedy scenes is not less than in Sab.

And I saw in Sab and what has gone at this time, so most unique.
