  1. "Black Widow", My warmest recommendation@ismaca857d

The film "Black Widow", a tie-in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, managed to pleasantly surprise me with its powerful narrative and cinematic display.

Directed by Cate Shortland, it presents a story of origins and redemption for the popular character of Natasha Romanoff, played by a magnetic Scarlett Johansson.

From its impeccably detailed production design, to hypnotic action choreography and a colour palette dominated by cool grey tones, the filmmaker transports the viewer into the heart of the most lethal spy.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=996278)

Shortland excels in directing brutal fight scenes in which Romanoff displays her physical prowess. But what is most surprising is how he manages to delve deep into her broken psyche.

Florence Pugh bursts with commendable ferocity as his sister Yelena Belova, endowing their bond with genuine nuance.

    [Image](https://www.filmaffinity.com/ve/filmimages.php?movie_id=996278)

Rachel Weisz and David Harbour also shine in endearing roles.

Beyond spectacle, Black Widow risks exploring themes of abuse in the USSR and the weight of trauma with subtlety.

A film that celebrates a female icon and a fitting epitaph for Johansson in the MCU.

  2. Black widow [2021]@sirdelly944d
    [Source](https://images.thedirect.com/media/article_full/black-widow-characters.jpg)

Hello friends, I'm here with another interesting movie titled Black widow and I would like to share with you.

The movie is about Natasha Romanoff, a member of the Avengers and a former KGB spy, is forced to confront her dark past when a conspiracy involving her old handler arises.

It begins In 1995, Super soldier Alexei Shostakov and Black Widow assassin Melina Vostokoff work as Russian undercover agents, posing as a family in Ohio with Natasha Romanoff and Yelena Belova as their daughters.

They steal S.H.I.E.L.D. intel and escape to Cuba, where their boss, General Dreykov, has Romanoff and Belova taken to the Red Room for training as widows.

In the following decades, Shostakov is imprisoned in Russia while Romanoff and Belova become successful, dangerous assassins.

Romanoff eventually defects to S.H.I.E.L.D. after helping Clint Barton bomb Dreykov's Budapest office, which apparently kills Dreykov and his young daughter Antonia.

In 2016, Romanoff was a fugitive for violating the Sokovia Accords.

She escapes from U.S. Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross and flees to a safe house in Norway supplied by Rick Mason.

Meanwhile, Belova kills a rogue former Widow but comes in contact with a synthetic gas that neutralizes the Red Room's chemical mind-control agent.

Belova sends antidote vials to Romanoff, hoping she and the Avengers can free the other Widows, and goes into hiding.

When Romanoff is unknowingly driving with the vials in her car, Red Room agent Taskmaster attacks her.

Romanoff escapes from the Taskmaster and realizes that the vials came from Budapest.

There she finds Belova, who reveals that Dreykov is alive, and the Red Room is still active.

The Widows and Taskmaster attack them, but Romanoff and Belova evade them and meet with Mason, who supplies them with a helicopter.

Romanoff and Belova break Shostakov out of prison to learn Dreykov's location, and he directs them to Vostokoff, who lives on a farm outside Saint Petersburg.

There she is refining the chemical mind control process used on the Widows.

Vostokoff alerts Dreykov and his agents arrive to take them, but Romanoff convinces Vostokoff to help them and the pair use face mask technology to switch places.

At the Red Room, a secret aerial facility, Vostokoff frees Shostakov and Belova from their restraints.

Dreykov sees through Romanoff's disguise. He reveals that Taskmaster is Antonia, who suffered damage in the Budapest bombing that was so severe, Dreykov had to put technology in her head to save her.

This turned Antonia into the perfect soldier, capable of mimicking the actions of anyone she sees.

Meanwhile, Romanoff is unable to attack Dreykov due to a pheromone lock installed in every Widow, but negates that by breaking her nose and severing her olfactory nerve.

Shostakovich battles Taskmaster while Vostokoff takes out one of the facility's engines, and they then lock Taskmaster in a cell.

Find out what happened next as Vostokoff takes out one of the facility's engines, and they then lock Taskmaster in a cell as the movie arouses curiosity.

    Thanks for reading my post.

  3. From Black Widow To An Evolving AI: My Favourite Scarlett Johansson Film || CineTV Contest #63@kemmyb1121d

Scarlett Johansson is a talented actress who captured my attention when she was first introduced as Black Widow in Marvel's Iron Man 2 (2010). Her portrayal of this character was simply fantastic and though I'm always sceptical of superheroes, I think I believed she was real! The heroine's suit looked sleek and good on her, her demeanour, composure and hand-to-hand combat were captivating.

Her performances in other Marvel films like Avengers, Captain America: Civil War were a delight to watch. Whenever I see Scarlett Johansson in a film, my mental picture of her as the badass Black Widow heroine takes centre stage. It was like that was the only role she was good at until I watched her perform in other films. The ones that stood out for me particularly were Her (2013), Lucy (2014) and Marriage Story (2019). These are my favourites apart from the Marvel films but for the purpose of this contest, I'll focus on Her (2013).

    https://youtu.be/ne6p6MfLBxc Source: YouTube

I don't often like to see science fiction and romance together but a fine mix of the two genres usually makes an interesting watch and gives the plot some reality. That's what Her delivered. This American sci-fi romance featured an ensemble cast which included Joaquin Phoenix as the lead, Scarlett Johansson as an AI virtual assistant, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, Amy Adams and Christ Pratt.

The setting of the film is in 2025 which I believe is like a foreshadowing of the times we are in now—the beginning of the reign of artificial intelligence. In this film, the protagonist, Theodore, falls in love with his AI assistant simply because it can adapt and evolve.

I like the plot of this film as it calls to question and perhaps some reflection on what it means to be human, how we handle our emotions and whether we can teach AIs to simulate them. It also prepares viewers for a near future where the possibility of AIs evolving even to the point of simulating physical intimacy. Okay, that may seem weird but like I said, it's a possibility.

I'll say the director, Spike Jonze, weaved this story perfectly, eliciting some empathy for Theodore in an AI-dominated era. Scarlet Johansson and Joaquin Phoenix's performances were touching, convincing and excellent. Theodore opened up and laid himself bare for Samantha more than he did with the humans around him including his ex-wife and the woman he went on a date with. Samantha became that soothing, understanding and loving voice in his ears who not only listens but also offers advice. I believe that can be addictive and make a person lose touch with reality.

The relationship between Theodore and Samantha is very weird, like who forms an attachment to a device but the two actors pull it off superbly such that I began to root for them along the way. When these characters said goodbye at the point when AIs were leaving, my heart broke alongside Theodore's. All it took to transform an ordinary guy into an extraordinary and confident one is a virtual assistant. I think when AIs become common all over the world, the Theodore and Samantha kind of relationship will be a reality then (if it's not already so now).

Overall, Her is a heartwarming sci-fi romance film worth watching. Jonze did a fantastic job constructing a world where unusual love stories take place. I may see Scarlett Johansson as a badass sometimes but I'm reminded she has a softer side, thanks to this film.

What other female actresses do you think we should do for the next contest like this?

I enjoy watching female actresses acting the part of the badass heroine in action movies. There are many cool female action stars to choose from but I'll suggest Charlize Theron, Gal Gadot, Kate Beckinsale, Milla Jovovich and Olga Kurylenko.

Where there's a watch-worthy action film to be made, it's any of these ladies I would wish to see in it!

The story places us after the events in Captain America: Civil War, after the Black Widow was placed under arrest for violating the Sokovia Accords. In it, after receiving a mysterious package and being attacked by Taskmaster, she will be reunited with old relatives. Natasha will have to try with her old family, one formed in her childhood with agents and a sister who is also a Widow: find the red room, defeat the villain Dreykov, and free the other Widows from his control.

Apart from the above, which is enough, I feel that there are 2 problems, the little interaction between the members of the "family" in the duration of the film and the enemy Taskmaster, that after the first encounter, his intervention is reduced, losing the incentive as an iconic character. Still, if you're looking for amazing action scenes, this movie has plenty.

The actors play a decent role, where beyond Scarlett Johansson, I highlight Florence Pugh as Yelena and David Harbour as Alexei. The comic parts of the film come mainly from these 2 characters, and they work.

I recommend it if you are a Marvel fan or if you like action movies.

    Black Widow

    Black Widow

    [English Version]

Hello Hivers lovers of movies, series and above all a big greeting to those who are fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, today I will tell you my impression and personal opinion about a production of this year 2021 about this fascinating cinematic universe. Perhaps many of you have already seen it but in my case I saw them very recently and I want to share with all of you my opinions.

    Source

Marvel has fascinated me for some time now, I would be lying if I said I was a fan of Marvel comics, because on this side of the world there is not much culture linked to comics, however, the exciting movies that this universe has given us have made us true fans of these stories.

I confess that this year I have looked away a bit from this cinematic universe, I have missed a lot, my subscription to Disney this year was very intermittent and for that reason I have let the time pass in terms of movies and series of these great superheroes, however, some time ago one of the moviegoers of the community shared through this channel a trailer that brings back the excitement to this universe, which made my heart race and have the expectation of a teenager to see their favorite superheroes, it is the trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home.

    Source

This trailer undoubtedly generates a cumulus of expectations that I had not felt all year in this cinematic universe, seeing it my intention in reviewing and analyzing the Marvel movies returned, taking into account that the movies and series are connected to each other and to fully understand everything that happens you have to consume a lot of movies and series, the details is everything and those details are like puzzles within a large catalog of productions.

    Black Widow

This movie is a prequel and tells us an interesting story around one of the most beloved avengers of this universe, for me to see Scarlett Johansson as the black widow is exceptional, I love this character and her interpretation by the actress, I think few can get out of her captivating charms. Faced with what would be one of the most painful losses in this cinematic universe having the opportunity to see a film in a timeline prior to End Game is something that undoubtedly generates mixed emotions, however, it is a good way to know a little more of a character that has been captivating us all since Iron-Man.

    Source

    Storyline.

This film shows us a little more about that mysterious organization in which our protagonist was recruited as a child, we will know that there is not only a black widow, but they hide in the dark under an organization that the protagonist herself believed extinct.

This film shows us a little more of familiar feelings that perhaps we would never have expected from Natasha Romanoff and that make us feel affinity (even more) for this great character, I think this movie is not superfluous in this universe and is an important production for true fans of the Avengers.

    Source

    Characters:

We will meet a group of colorful characters and with the touch that Marvel prints in each movie, these characters seem to me well designed with a touch of comedy and interesting qualities, these characters complement a good story and will lead us to a good entertainment in general.

    Source

One of the characters that caught my attention and perhaps I'm adding a small spoiler in this section is the Red Guardian. I find him to be quite an interesting character, with his own, almost cartoonish essence that easily slips into the whole Marvel plot. He is a character that makes a counterpart to Captain America, however, he is a product of the defunct Soviet Union.

    Source

It seems to me a laughable character and that shows us implicitly in its characteristics a political issue, without falling in controversies or controversies from my point of view shows us a rival or a character that although he is a rival of Captain America both have abysmal differences showing a total superiority of the West over the East in an implicit way.

He is a grotesque character, out of shape and perhaps somewhat clumsy, however, I think he has a good potential in this cinematic universe, I think in the future he can make viewers laugh and give us good moments of action. In my opinion it is a Marvel character designed for their plots linked between comedy and action.

    Source

    Movie Without Much Fantasy

Something that I find positive for this type of film is that it is not based on a very fantasy story considering that our protagonist does not really possess super powers, the production does not fall into an exaggeration outside the parameters that this cinematic universe proposes us, that actually pleased me, however, it leads us to an interesting science fiction plot that although it is not as fantastical and explosive as other Marvel movies will keep us attentive until the end.

    Source

    Special Effects.

It is a film whose plot does not merit a great spectacle of special effects as we are accustomed to this cinematic universe, however, if there are very good visual effects which are the favorite delight of fans of these films. Although it is a fairly focused film and does not need so much presence of great effects, it introduces them gradually but taking the viewer to that feeling of impression that Marvel has us so accustomed to.

There is a sequence of scenes that are of an impressive quality, this occurs at the end and I think at that point we really notice that it is a film of the cinematic universe fashionable throughout the world of entertainment. Particularly in terms of special effects the movie just had to show that sequence of scenes to impress me.

    Source

Scarlett Johansson Vs Disney (Rumors and Speculations about her Future)

Something that was news several months ago at the time of this writing was that legal battle between the actress and the Disney company due to contractual problems caused by the release of this film in theaters and streaming service, however, according to rumors on the internet everything has ended on good terms, of course a check of about $ 40 million can solve the disappointments of any production house.

    Source

There are several rumors that after Disney's reconciliation with Scarlett (40M) apparently she will continue to work in this cinematic universe but not as Black Widow, she will perform in another role, some comment that it could be a production job instead of an acting job, we know how secretive companies can be about this kind of information and according to some sources she is already working on a secret Disney project in the UCM.

    Source

I particularly would have liked to have seen Scarlett in this universe but I think we need to turn the page and going back to being Black Widow may be a mistake. It only remains to speculate around the theories that exist, however, we do not leave in doubt that Black Widow is one of the most beloved characters of this universe and that Scarlett Johansson says goodbye with her head held high (and pockets full) of all this great and work at Marvel.

    Source

    Movie Rating.

    7.4 ⭐️

    Final Opinion about Black Widow.

It is a fairly entertaining film, worthy of being a production within the Marvel Cinematic Universe and giving us a story perhaps different in terms of so much explosiveness and breakneck pace but suitable for the main character although at the end we are given a great sequence of scenes with many special effects. You can feel Marvel's flair in every minute always linking a bit of comedy, some drama and lots of action as well as excellent fight scenes.

    Source

    Do I recommend it?

Yes, it is a very good movie, possibly many have already seen this movie at the time of this writing but if any have not seen it I think a very good choice to enjoy in the company of the wonderful Natasha Romanoff as one of Marvel's great characters.

  6. Black Widow: The last track of Natasha Romanoff@claudio831682d

Black Widow, the film directed by Cate Shortland, is the prequel to the story of Avenger Natasha Romanoff, played by Scarlett Johansson. As a fan of MCU (Marvel Comics Universe) I was very curious to watch the film to finally know a lot of details about the past of the reference female character of the Avengers and the story has not disappointed me at all.

The story tells of how Natasha was literally torn from her family when she was still a child, along with her sister, to be trained to become a war machine, along with a group of other girls called Black Widows.

    image.png Source

Years later, after escaping from the training center, Natasha decides to face her past and soon discovers an even more dramatic past, torn from her mother of origin and entrusted to what she considered her family, but was already in the full experiment of the perfidious general of the KGB and creator of the Black Widows program.

Natasha Romanoff: Once I had nothing, then I had this job, this family, but nothing lasts forever!

Natasha's sister Yelena discovers she is under the hypnotic effect of the KGB and manages to escape from the Russian military grip. Reunited with Natasha, father Alexei Shostakov (Red Guardian) and mother Melina, a KGB agent and doctor, the family attacks the Black Widows laboratory, freeing the girls from a fate of war and death.

    image.png

Black Widow is set after Captain America Civil War, and in turn contains flashbacks of Natasha's origins. As an introductory MCU Phase 4 film, the story focuses on the character Black Widows, who died in Avengers The Endgame but cinema is known to work wonders and I'm pretty sure Natasha will be back sooner or later. In fact, Black Widow's body has never been found, there has not been a worthy funeral ... In short, everything makes me suspicious.

Meanwhile, in the hidden scene after the credits, Yelena has become a mercenary and her next target is the killer of her sister, Hawkeye. It is therefore plausible to imagine that Nastasha's family will somehow be the protagonists in Phase 4 and I am also very curious to know more details.

The film got some good reviews, some criticism of the story that could have been improved upon, made more intriguing or articulated. But it is still an action movie and not a drama. The action scenes are fast and well built, the special effects are always at the top and even the hand-to-hand combat is well built. The soundtrack is very pleasant and integrates well with the scenes of the film, we often ignore how important it is that the music accompanies the scenes in a precise and punctual way.

It is currently available for viewing on the Disney platform.

  7. [ESP/ENG] Crítica a Black Widow/Review of Black Widow.@sangoro971776d

. . Black Widow is the latest Marvel Studios movie to be released in theaters and Disney Plus in July 2021, after several months of delay due to the Covid-19 pandemic. It is directed by Cate Shortland and stars Scarlett Johansson, accompanied by a cast including Florence Pugh, Rachel Weisz and David Harbour. The film, according to the chronology of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set after the events of Captain America: Civil War, with Natasha Romanoff (Black Widow) now a fugitive, having to return to Budapest to uncover a conspiracy linked to her past.

From the very first sequence, besides the opening credits, the Black Widow movie establishes a somber and highly political tone, as a good spy movie it intends to pay homage to, maintaining it until the end; demonstrating that the screenwriters and producers of Marvel Studios have learned not to force humor into their stories, allocating it to specific moments where it is necessary to relieve tension. To this we add a greater development of the character of Black Widow unlike other films in the franchise, giving us to know much more about her past and her motivations. The latter also maintains a good chemistry and interaction with the secondary characters, each having their place in the story, which enjoys a steady pace through which it knows where it wants to take us. And as we are used to from Marvel Studios, the action scenes are executed in such a way that they seek to be as surprising as possible, alternating between explosions, fights, shootouts and chases.

However, the action, in its quest to be grandiloquent, often leads to implausible results, such as the protagonist coming out with minimal damage after an attack that should be deadly or at least high-risk for her. On the other hand, Dreykov, the main villain of the film and played by Ray Winstone, very much inspired by the classic James Bond antagonists, turns out to be a character without depth or development, being relegated to being simply "the bad guy".

Despite having flaws typical of productions of its style, Black Widow does its job of keeping you entertained, as well as having very good performances, charismatic characters, dazzling action and feeling like a much more mature story within the superhero genre.

Black Widow was one of the most important movie releases of July, and as a big fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I have been waiting for this film to be released for quite a while. This is one of the many films that was delayed due to the pandemic, and it was finally released more than a year after its original release date of May 2020.

The MCU is the best development of superhero movies in the history of cinema. Never before so many major productions about superheroes were linked together telling the story of several important characters and defeating countless enemies time and time again. In the past, before the CMU began with the Iron Man films, DC Comics was the best making superhero films. Their Batman and Superman characters were clearly the most popular in the world, and the only Marvel superhero that could compete in popularity was Spiderman and his individual films.

The MCU changed everything, especially the first Avenger film in 2012 where we could finally see a big group of superheroes fighting together against a powerful villain. In that film, the villain was Loki. These films had so many cool scenes mixed with a few funny scenes and it worked perfectly. Things would only get better in the coming years, and each new Avenger film was better than the last. Until the epic climax of Avengers: Endgame around 2 years ago. That film marked the end of an era, although the official final film of Marvel's phase 3 was Spider-Man: Far from Home released a couple of months later.

The MCU is currently divided into 4 phases, and Black Widow is the first film of phase 4. Since this is a prequel I guess it could have been released at some point in phase 3 and it wouldn't have changed anything. The events of this film take place after the Civil War movie from 2016 and before the Infinity War movie from 2018.

Main names associated with the film

The director of the film is Cate Shortland. This woman has some experience directing previous productions but this is the first time she is in charge of a major film. However, a couple of years ago I watched one of her previous films called Berlin Syndrome, and it was a very good thriller. Some other examples of her previous works are Somersault and Lore.

The screenplay was written by Eric Pearson whose experience has always been with action films. He has worked as a writer in around 8 productions, and there are a couple of major films in there such as Godzilla vs Kong and Thor Ragnarok. He began to work almost 10 years ago writing some Marvel shorts and is now doing a good job working in major films.

The story had 2 writers, Jac Schaeffer, who has only started to work in popular productions in 2019 with the movie named The Hustle. She then worked in the Wandavision series and now in Black Widow. She has not worked in many productions but her latest works were enjoyable for me. The other writer is Ned Benson, apart from some shorts, he has only previously worked as a writer in the trilogy The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby. Black Widow is his first and so far only regular-length film apart from that trilogy. It is fair to say this person doesn't have much experience writing action-based stories, but again, the film was fun so this lack of experience didn't ruin anything.

Scarlett Johansson plays the main role as we all know, and this is an actress so popular that I don't think I need to explain who she is. Some of my favorite films with her apart from any Marvel film are Lost in Translation, and Ghost in the Shell. However, this actress has so many great films in her career that is almost impossible to just choose 2 of those.

Florence Pugh plays a very important character that will probably become more important for the MCU in the years to come. She is a fine actress and I remember seeing her in the film Midsommar, which is a great horror-mystery movie, and Little Women. She has worked in other films but those 2 are the 2 most important ones in my opinion apart from Black Widow of course.

Rachel Weisz plays a secondary character but one that becomes key in the most important parts of the film. She is an actress with an extensive career and usually works in films that belong to the drama genre. Some of her previous films are Dream House and The Favourite.

Finally, we have David Harbour, an actor who recently got very popular thanks to his role in Stranger Things. He also worked in Hellboy and had a small role in Suicide Squad. His character in the Black Widow film is the only one that attempts to be funny and sometimes he does it well.

As we can see, we have a director and writers with not excessive experience but sufficient enough to make a good job. The cast, on the other hand, has extremely talented members that most people have surely seen in other movies before.

    What was the movie about?

The film provides the background story of the Black Widow character, her origins and there are even a couple of scenes from her childhood in America. This film is all about making peace with her troubled past, and all the horrible things she escaped from when she left Russia to become an Avenger.

Previous films have shown glimpses of the extremely hard training this character had to endure in order to become an elite assassin, capable of carrying out the most challenging missions one could think of. This way of training, and even mentally breaking people should be considered criminal, and she isn't happy at all with her past and with the people responsible for it.

During her escape to America, she thought she was leaving all of her previous life in the past, but things will eventually come back to her, and she will realize that was she thought was finished, is not finished at all. The criminal and abusive organization that caused her so many bad memories is still going on and is much more sophisticated and powerful than ever before.

I really believe this film should have been released many years before, because since this is a prequel we already know more or less how this story would end. We know the villain isn't really a big deal because he doesn't influence the events that happen later on, and this reduces the sense of danger and doubt when it comes to the difficult situations the main character will have to endure throughout the film. We know she will succeed.

It was a good film, but I would say the same thing I said after watching the series Falcon and the Winter Soldier. Since the main character doesn't have any cool superpower, the action scenes aren't as entertaining and could feel like generic action scenes during some moments. There are big missions containing the best scenes in the entire film, and the same type of action could easily be found in other action franchises such as Fast and Furious and Mission Impossible. These are good scenes but the lack of superpowers in the main character makes everything feel less original and special.

The film is great in providing the background info of the Black Widow, and also of the organization behind this type of training. This organization is very ambitious and with enough resources to accomplish its plans and it will be quite a challenge to fix things properly.

How were the performance from the cast, the settings and the camera work?

I liked how the cast played their roles. But I got to say the way David Harbour played his characters seemed very silly most of the time. I think someone like him should have been much more serious instead of trying to be the funny guy time and time again. I understand a bit of comedy has always been present in the MCU, but this time it felt a bit forced.

I loved the settings. The location of the abusive organization is hidden and when it is finally revealed it was a good surprise. This crazy location also made it possible for some action scenes to be much more epic than expected. When it comes to the camera work, it was very well done especially during the best action scenes in the film. There were some moments where really crazy events were taking place, and I liked how those scenes were filmed.

    Final thoughts

This was a nice addition to the MCU, but I think the timing of its release was off. It should have been released before the Infinity War movie of 2018. It made little sense to release it now when we already know what will happen with the Black Widow.

It provided good, but slightly generic action scenes due to the absence of superpowers, but it is still a worth watching action film and it opens the room for more potential plot paths involving one of the secondary characters.

  9. Mis impresiones sobre la película Viuda Negra / My impressions of the movie Black Widow@ramisey1788d

    E7zTfTZX0AIAPKU.jpg

    Fuente

I recently saw the Marvel movie Black Widow and I honestly didn't like it. I agree that the postponement for two years due to Covid-19 reduced the impact of the premiere, and even some logic in the plot, because it was previously known that the character of Natasha Romanoff dies in Avengers: Endgame and that, in my opinion, they decreased so much the suspense as well as the expectations, that's why it was difficult for me to digest this film as a Spin-off.

Here we see a very sensitive and vulnerable Natasha, almost in the same vein as in Endgame, who leaves away that dangerous, agile and combative woman who was introduced to us in Iron Man 2, Captain America; The Winter Soldier, Civil War and the Avengers saga. Scarlett Johansson's performance is remarkable, but the film fails in the story and the script. It is true that it is intended to showcase a more human Black Widow, perhaps to close her cycle at Marvel, however, justice is not done to the most relevant female character among a group of superheroes. If the objective was to show Natasha making peace with her past, that on screen could not be transmitted, it seemed little credible to me.

Black Widow focuses mainly on the dysfunctional family of the protagonist, by bursts offers retrospectives of her life with nuances of a comedy that is not hilarious, in my perception. The performance and dialogues of David Harbor, personifying the Red Guardian, are unpleasant, here he is a fat and clumsy being without much grace in his interventions, it shows that it is a forced plot that takes away the seriousness of the central story.

Special mention for the conspiracy in Budapest, here there are scenes of a lot of action, especially in the Red Room, where Natasha, with the intervention of her allies, fights against Draykov and Taskmaster, antagonists of the film. The second of the aforementioned must have been taken advantage of since at the beginning it was warned of a lot of potential that did not develop, so much so that the main conflict was resolved very quickly and in a not complicated way.

I believe that there was no further explanation about Natasha's past, how she was kidnapped and later recruited, what was the involvement of her adoptive parents and how she managed to escape. I also think that for a spy film there is an absence of unknowns and mysteries, the plots are so predictable that they directly undermine any notion of verisimilitude.

In this story a particular character appears: Yelena, who will logically take the place of Natasha, her adoptive sister, as the new Black Widow in the upcoming Marvel productions since after the credits, as always, they show a trailer that looms what will come later. The visual effects and action choreographies were up to what was expected, however, the film lacks substance, which is the main thing, hence it results in an insipid ending for this woman who gave us, in other films , memorable scenes.

  10. Black Widow / Review@roadstories1794d

I finally had the opportunity to see this movie, and even though I had seen the trailer, I was left with many doubts. First of all, I thought and I was looking forward to seeing even more in-depth the history of the black widow, her biological family for example. But one of the things I was looking forward to the most was to see a bit of everything she had to go through to become the person she was.

I mean, in Avengers there were scenes where she exposed her human side, leaving aside that barrier and coldness she has inside, she even showed that her childhood was not easy and that she had to go through thousands of atrocious things, such as the fact that her sexual organ was removed.

Despite all the beginning I loved it, I think Ever Anderson (daughter of Milla Jovovich "Alice" in Resident Evil) has a very promising path in the world of cinematography, her role was very fresh and at the same time with a touch of innocence and rudeness, something that characterizes the black widow. However, I was hoping they would show me more about how she got to that point, of even at a young age exposing her life to protect her sister.

It should be noted that marvel sci-fi effects always knows how to make things not look so exaggerated, taking into account that their heroes are skilled people and in the case of the black widow is a woman who is not afraid of anything.

Another of my doubts is if really Natalia's "father" was the first super, I think I heard that he had been, that is, that Captain America was the first super-soldier known to the world, while the other was held in jail. Well, that's something I need to research further, I even plan to watch the movie again.

I heard that this movie had been a success, but nevertheless, it is being criticized right now both for Disney and for the actress since supposedly there was an abuse of the contract since it was only expected by her, that this movie would be released exclusively in theaters. And well, if we put ourselves in the shoes of the actress, it is not so far-fetched thinking that people will prefer a Disney subscription to perhaps expose themselves to the pandemic or just for convenience.

I liked the movie, it showed me a human side of her, which we had also seen in Avengers. But this movie makes it clear that the black widow through that experience with her family and through everything they went through to end the red room, made her realize the connection she had with the avengers as well.

I thought it was a little twisted to talk about girls and at the same time the subject of the removal of their reproductive organs and also the abuse, I don't want to imagine what they were exposed to. But well, this is cinema, and there are many things that can have similarities with the real world, so on the one hand it's good to see it from this angle.

  11. (ESP-ENG) Reseña de la película: La Viuda Negra // Movie Review: Black Widow.@javyeslava.photo1804d

    **

Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

    **

Hello friends, good vibes to all.

    Poster!

It had been I think two years since we haven't seen anything from Marvel on a cinematic level because of the virus and the whole pandemic thing but fortunately the wait seems to have come to an end. It's true that we've already seen things like WandaVision, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier and recently Loki but as far as movies go this is the first we've seen since Endgame.

We find ourselves with the film that is the farewell of Natasha Romanoff of the Marvel universe, and is that she sacrificed herself to save the universe in Endgame, but behind this story is how Nat arises, where she comes from and what was her purpose of life accompanied with a side of her that if we had started to see in some movies but that this time they deepened a little more. Come on then and let's talk a little bit about what this is all about:

    - Historia // History.

    Natasha Romanoff!

I recommend that if you haven't seen the movie go, do so and then go back and read, and if you already have, we'll continue. The timeline in which this story takes place is just after "Captain America: Civil War" when Romanoff decides to leave SHIELD and begins her escape from General Ross who pursues her after having acted against the famous Sokovia Accords. From this point onwards begins the real exercise of introspection of this important character because we will get to know a little more about her.

During these multiple escapes Natasha's adoptive sister, Yelena (Florence Pugh), manages to locate her in order to make contact and thus begin a mission full of chases and surprises that will be the center of all the action of the film. The main plan is to defeat General Dreykov, mastermind behind the formation of the black widows, with the help of his family that in certain passages we will understand how and why it originates.

    Natasha and Yelena!

    Family!

    - Opinion.

Having mentioned the family theme, I think this is where the real purpose of the film lies, not the explosions or the hand-to-hand combat scenes or the fact that it is a plot full of action or unexpected twists and turns. I think in my very humble opinion that the real objective was to dignify and give much more depth to a character that in many opportunities became "just another one of the bunch".

It is a reminder that we will never see Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel Universe again and in turn helped us close many loose ends that existed around the beginning of her life and certainly marks a torch shift for the new generations to come in this incredible world of superheroes.

As for the characters themselves we clearly see a lot of feelings that go hand in hand with what I said before, the idea is to show the human side more than the tough one. Florence Pugh is a spectacular actress, I remember seeing her in a pure horror movie called "Midsommar" and the truth is that I was shocked by the role she played, I think she has a very good ability to be the harmless girl but warrior at the same time. Undoubtedly an excellent addition from Marvel for the future.

We also have Rachel Weisz and David Harbour who are the parents of these sisters. Harbour was the ice-breaking "comic" character that gave that touch of comedy to the film and Weisz the truth is that she was just another character, quite flat but without falling into the bad. All in all, a decent movie with good action shots, a simple plot with an irrelevant villain but in the end it does the job.

    Source!

A purpose that is none other than FAMILY. In this way they wanted to close the story of Natasha and I think they did it well, I feel that nothing was missing in the film and I notice it because I enjoyed it. You can watch it on DisneyPlus and it has a duration of a little more than 2 hours; as always I leave you the trailer so you can take a look at it for those who haven't done it yet.

    ***

    ***

Well my people that's all for today, I hope you liked it. ¡Hugs to all, see you next time!

  12. Black Widow: What Went Wrong? [ENG/ESP]@fabian981809d

    What went wrong.gif

Hello everyone / Hola a todos...

After so much waiting we finally have the solo movie that explains more of the history of the favorite avenger, after some delays due to the pandemic we have finally seen the origin of Natasha Romanoff and we have seen why she says over and over again that she is in red numbers, personally, that intrigued me a lot I thought she was bankrupt or the IRS was following her.

    image.png

I saw the movie the same day it came out, but as a Marvel fan, I stopped to analyze more in-depth certain things that didn't convince me of the movie, such as bumps, lack of story, or filler characters. I want to clarify that this is not a review, in fact, there are already many in the community, rather this is a small criticism that in my opinion failed in Black widow to be called a 100% memorable movie.

One of the biggest mysteries of Black Widow was her story since in all the Marvel movies where she participated she never tells anything, and where she does in Avengers Age of Ultron, she only shows her training. Well in this installment of Black Widow show how her life was before being a widow, we can see that she was recruited by Russian spies to have an alibi of an American family and settle down to complete the mission that had assigned Dreivkov to Alexei Shostakov The Red Guardian (The communist Captain America) and Melina Vostokoff a first-generation widow.

    image.png

Although the story of the fake family of spies and how Natasha protects Yelena from the dangers of the outside world is beautiful and touching, it was not the story I expected of how the black widow develops. in fact in the whole movie, it is never fully shown how the widows are formed, only in the opening credits is where you see some things but it is not something that they have made an effort to explore in-depth. It's not like the other Avengers movies, for example, iron man 1 fully explores what motivated Tony Stark to be iron man and his process to become iron man, but here it is not explored as it should be and one is still left with the doubt about how everyone's favorite black widow was formed.

Important characters used as fillers / Personajes importantes usados como relleno

One of the things I hate the most about Marvel movies is that they use important characters as filler for the movie or series but they don't delve into their story or don't give them a real use, for example in the Loki series you can see how everything is controlled by Kang the Conqueror, but in the scene that finally we were all waiting for just a man with mental retardation laughing at everything, which is disappointing for a character with a lot of potential wasted.

    image.png

The same goes for The Red Guardian who is Captain America but Russian, not even when Steve Rogers went over to Hydra's side was there that much excitement for me. But unfortunately, The Red Guardian is not used as someone who has the super-soldier serum should be, since he does absolutely nothing useful and when he fights Taskmaster he doesn't get up from the ground because Taskmaster dominates him all the time, the only impressive thing about The Red Guardian is that we see him kicking doors and breaking hands.

    https://images.hive.blog/DQmRThiVEVXzMsLkXTor9Bh7gw1uuPysEYcR6onmV8SKn2U/image.png.

Here perhaps some may differ with my opinion and say that Dreykov did have a purpose which was to dominate the world with the help of the widows, and it is true, but I wonder why? What does Dreykov gain by dominating the world? Think for example in Thanos, he wanted to destroy half of the universe to bring balance, Ultron wanted to eliminate the human race because it was a danger, Hela wanted to dominate Asgard and then dominate the universe.

    image.png

Can you see it? villains with a complete purpose or with a lot of sense. Now Dreykov didn't have a clear purpose, since he only wanted to use the widows to dominate the world and bend the governments to his will, but what if he got his wish, what would be next? just a villain without the right motivation. Besides he dies in such a silly and senseless way, for example, Thanos dies because he is eliminated with the snap of Iron man after an intense fight, Ultron is defeated by Vision after an intense fight, Hela is destroyed in Ragnarok after an intense battle, instead, Dreykov dies after he slapped Natasha like a macho man in a silly way, something like that to turn the page and not to know more about Dreykov.

Anyway, these are some things I noticed about the Black Widow movie that doesn't make sense to me, of course, this movie also has interesting, funny, and exciting moments that make you watch it over and over again, but that I will tell you in another post. Thank you very much for reading, all the images have been taken from my computer, and the cover image was made in canva.

    Black Widow Poster 2.jpg

Movies are back! I went to the theater to watch Black Widow and the big screen is where you should see this movie. I missed the MCU and I'm not the only one. The crowd at the movies actually clapped when the Marvel logo showed up and when the movie ended. Yes, it's a really good movie. It's not the best Marvel movie, but it is pretty freaking good with a great score, great action scenes, awesome dialogue, great acting and terrible Russian accents, mostly. I did appreciate the correct use of swear words.

As we have been promised, Black Widow takes place right after Captain America: Civil War which means Natasha Romanoff is on the run. She's good at being on the run. But you can't run from your past. The opening credit scene which takes place in the past almost brought me to tears, and yes, that is what this movie is about. Just like Captain America: The Winter Soldier this movie has an issue that it tackles. Just not so expertly. But since it so heartbreaking you can't help but feel it. In fact it looms over the movie a lot more than Romanoff's future. Now I'm going to feel a pain in my heart every time I listen to "smells like teen spirit". I know some people have issues with movies getting political, but I think it just makes this spy thriller even more unique.

Young Natasha Romanoff lives with her adoptive family which includes a mother, father and a younger sister. The de-aging technology is really good, but still not there yet. In case you didn't know Ever Anderson plays young Natasha and she is also Milla Jovovich's daughter. Jovovich was born in Ukraine and you can tell that she taught her daughter some Russian. Even though she can an American accent sometimes when she speaks she still sounds more fluid then anyone on screen speaking Russian. Violet McGraw plays young Yelena Belova and she also played young Nell in Haunting of Hill House. She was excellent there and she's excellent here. The de-aging worked better for David Harbour then it did for Rachel Weisz in my opinion. Harbour plays the Red Guardian, a Russian version of Captain America and Weisz plays the Iron Maiden but it is most just a name in this movie. But they are still excellent in what they are given. Except Harbour's Russian accent which is awful. The family member that steals that show is older Yelena Belova, Florence Pugh. Pugh is a movie star in the making, she just has so much charm and charisma. But the story is basically that of one of the most dysfunctioning families we've seen on the big screen.

On top of that there is the story of Natasha Romanoff coming to terms with her past. The movie is mostly set right after Captain America: Civil War and Romanoff is on the run after she violated the Sokovia Accords when she attacked the King of Wakanda. She is a master at running away and staying hidden, but you can't run from your past forever and in this movie it really catches up to her. She must deal with her broken fake family and her heartbroken heart little sister, her life as a spy, the history of the red room and survive Taskmaster. Yes they totally changed Taskmaster, but I'm ok with that. This movie will make you look at the post credit scene of Civil War differently. And it puts a different light on Romanoff during Infinity War and Endgame. Plus, you will look at her scene interrogating Loki in the first Avengers movie differently as well. It shades a different light on the character as a whole, which I guess is what we expected this movie to do.

The action in this movie is brilliant. A lot of hand to hand combat which I love. Although some scenes will make you wonder how anyone can stay alive after that. I think that the similar fighting styles between the characters is actually super cool. I mean they were trained similarly. I just wish we had even more of the hand to hand combat in this movie. I would have loved that. I love seeing Romanoff fighting and we still don't have enough of that.

Obviously, the acting in this movie is great. Scarlett Johansson just brings everything she has to this character and it shows. Every time she gets upset I wanted to cry. Plus she looks flawless. The outfits, the hair, the makeup, she looks fantastic. Yet Johansson got what she wanted, her character is not overly sexualized in this movie. No female character is. She just looks fantastic and that's it. Florence Pugh is brilliant but from some reason her scenes get some humor in it which doesn't always work. She kills it in her emotional scenes and she has tons of charm, but sometimes the humor just stamps over the drama, a problem which Marvel has in general. No one gets a worst treatment then David Harbour's Red Guardian. He is just a walking joke, but he does the best with that he has. I love Rachel Weisz and I missed her in big movies but someone should have changed her makeup because it looks so bad that it is actually distracting. I would have loved to have seen more of her and seen her kicking ass, but she was more of an intelligent foe in this movie. Everyone did the best with what they were given in this movie. But yeah, it's a Black Widow movie and Johansson was just perfect and brilliant.

This is not just Johansson's movie. It does set up a few interesting things for phase 4. Especially that post credit scene. I'm not crying, you're crying. Surprisingly, the movie does have some connection to the Disney+ shows. It’s a small connection, but you might think less of the post credit scene if you haven't watched one particular show yet.

I feel like this movie sets up things for phase 4 too much. I feel like won't don't have enough Black Widow in this movie. I am not ready to say goodbye to Scarlett Johansson as this character, I still want more and I feel like this movie didn't give us enough of her in all of her glory. I want an entire Budapest movie or an entire movie of her on a mission, I just want more. This was not enough. I mean I really liked this movie, but I want more. Even another movie like this. I am just not ready for a goodbye.

I've seen this movie already twice at the cinema and probably will see it a few more times on the big screen. I loved it. It was worth the wait and I'm so glad that this is the first movie I choose to see on the big screen since the pandemic started.

Have you watched Black Widow yet?

It was not as we all thought and the movie did not give too many details about the origin of this character, they did not answer the questions that we had always asked, and made a Family Adventure story that manages to be entertaining but I think it was not what I expected, they show us a family that we had never seen, moreover I feel that it contradicts the concept that the Avengers was the closest thing to a family that the person had, but in this movie they show us that it is not so.

An excellent point that I see to the film are the actors who give life to the characters, is what gives all the dynamics to the film, since by itself perhaps the story does not work very well, but with the excellent work done by the actors we do not even notice it, David Harbour as Red Guardian is another level, besides having that at the end we get attached to the character.

Black widow is not a masterpiece and it is far from being one, besides I feel that it doesn't add much to the MCU, it only gives a "Worthy" ending to the character but nothing beyond that, and it's not that the movie is bad, just the expectations when Marvel releases a movie is very high, but I also feel that something better could be done, but in the end it's my humble opinion.

After such a long time without Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, Black Widow arrives to us, an action-adventure movie where we delve a little deeper into the history of the character and her origins (if you can call it that).

The MCU can have movies that are a total work of art and all this without counting the milestone that was Avengers: Endgame. But like any saga or group of movies there can also be some not so good or directly considered as bad, however I consider that they are the minority of the movies they release.

Now let's get to the point of this post: Black Widow

The hype that is created when a Marvel movie is announced and released is amazing and this case was no exception, many of us were intrigued to see what the origins and history of the character were since we had been told very little about the character, so curiosity about these aspects made the movie appealing.

However, after so many movies we have seen of this universe we already had some basics of the character, simply what they had to do was to complete the missing spaces in the history of the character, but it was not exactly what happened, they showed us a "new" story and the film develops around this, besides not answering all the questions we added a story that did not feel organic (obviously talking about the MCU, because in the end the film if it works by itself).

I don't know if you remember the disappointing scene in Captain Marvel when Nick Fury loses his eye because of a cat, well! That's how I felt in this whole movie and it's not that it's bad but it's just not what I expected, for example we didn't have any encounter of Black Widow with Hawkeye and I think I wasn't the only one who was waiting for that moment.

As for the script, the film has one or two interesting twists, but other moments that are solved because the script says so, but it feels a bit stilted, but overall the main plot of the film is good and a bit engaging.

Don't get me wrong the movie on its own is pretty decent, it has good performances, good cinematography, a story that works and manages to keep us a little over 2 hours watching it, but my problem is when we try to fit it into the MCU, that's when I feel it doesn't fit so much. However I'm open to debate and to hear all kinds of opinions.

Disclaimer: At the end of this post I must admit that I felt a bit bad about the way I expressed my negative opinions about the film but at the same time I do not want to alter them to sound friendlier, this does not prevent me from recognizing the value of Black Widow and That you understand that many talented people were involved in it, from the directors, actors, photography people, composers and the team in charge of the vfx. My complaints come from a very subjective place and as always it is not only understandable that others have different opinions, but also I would love to hear them. Let us begin.

Although it was a bit predictable that Black Widow would not turn out to be a perfect film, it is still disappointing that the first theatrical release since Far From Home in 2019 was such a low ambition and formulaic product.

Indeed, it is the epitome of all the errors that Marvel has accumulated over the years (some persistent and others that have been corrected in much more competent films than this one) presented as a spy thriller that, being totally honest, does not have nothing artistic and interesting to offer.

I admit it, I am and will continue to be a faithful follower of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I consider it a project of unmatched proportions, a saga so gigantic that it could not be surpassed in decades. It's a shame that this same legacy ends up affecting the most recent works that are part of it, finding itself stuck in tropes and clichés that I thought we had overcome at least two phases ago.

At best Black Widow offers a competent story with interesting characters and action scenes ranging from brilliant to mediocre, there are salvageable aspects that make this an entertaining and correct experience.

At worst it is unnecessarily confusing (in the man sense) and wastes time on subplots that put those interesting characters in situations that we care little about.

From a thematic point of view we could say that it is a good complement to the story that we already had of Natasha Romanoff, although it seems that the MCU canon has to twist a bit to fit this story that does not know how to decide between having a large or small scale .

Good ideas with poor execution, that would be the best way to summarize what happened to Black Widow and it is a shame that the great cast has to suffer this: Scarlett Johansson, Florence Pugh, David Harbor and Rachel Weisz are the best part of the movie, Their overall dynamics and chemistry make us want more of these characters.

It starts off pretty strong by giving us one of my favorite openings in the entire MCU (From visual and musical to substance) and then it all goes downhill, the tone is a mess and every good moment is overshadowed by them.

    Source

Perhaps I have been extremely tough, the most hardcore fans of the MCU will find in Black Widow a film of value, it does nothing extremely bad and provides a dose of action and comedy with an interesting background (At least on paper), but for those who want to see different and risky things ends up knowing little.

For me, it's on the level of Captain Marvel.

PS: Despite everything, it made me appreciate Natasha much more as a character, there are great ideas here and when they land well they can move and excite.

  18. Black Widow 2021 - upcoming Marvel Studios film production brand@valentin861910d

Apparently, the action of the film takes place between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War, when Natasha was a fugitive. Her story from that period brings her back to her Russian roots, but also to the "Red Room", where she was trained to become one of the toughest special assassins.

Natasha Romanoff "Black Widow" faces the darker parts of her life when a dangerous conspiracy arises that has to do with her past. Chased by a force that will stop nothing to eliminate her, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left behind long before she becomes Avenger.

This cinema production that promises to be an action-packed one, will have premiere in cinemas and on the Disney + channel on July 9, 2021. It seems like a great movie, i can't wait for that special day.
