In an impulsive act, he opened the safe and took several bundles of money. His intention was to go to Honolulu, where he would spend a few hours before leaving for another destination.

In other side of the city, Cynthia Strong, a recently widowed woman, leaves her husband's funeral to the airport. She's followed by Alan Marker, a man with sly look and privy of a dark secret.

Cynthia and Nicholas take the same flight, sit in the same espace. It only took a request for help full of secrecy for that weekend to become the moment that would radically change their lives, either for the better... or for the worse.

Million Dollar Weekend is a 1948 film directed and starred by the American actor and director Gene Raymond. Stephanie Paull (also known as Osa Massen) and Francis Lederer join him in the cast, It belongs to the Noir genre.

The movie exposes us the different aspects of human nature, emphasizing cruelty, ambition, cynicism, fear, regret and redemption.

Nicholas (played by Raymond) and Cynthia (played by Massen) seek to runaway from their respective pasts, the first out of boredome and the second out of fear of social judgment; throughout the plot, they confront their own secrets, only to realize at the end that running away from the past wouldn't be the best solution to their situations in life, and instead face the consequences of their actions in a dignified manner.

With Alan (played by Lederer), on the other hand, things are different. He's an individual who sees people as chess pieces at his disposal in order to achieve his ends. This is notable for the way he treated Cynthia throughout the film: always with a condescending smile, confident that he'll get what he wants and that he'll be able to get his way no matter how many people he would hurt in the process.

The movie could be interpreted as an alegory that things aren't always going to be black and white. It's in each of us to consider whether to run away from a suffocating past or to face it and assume the consequences that come with it.

The process of transforming Homicide: Life on the Street from its gritty, improvisational roots into a more polished, mainstream police procedural reached its zenith during the show’s penultimate season, an evolution epitomised by All Is Bright, the episode’s embrace of 1990s broadcast television tropes. By its sixth season, the series had gradually shifted away from its raw, documentary-inspired style, opting instead for tighter plotting and heightened melodrama to appeal to broader audiences. All Is Bright exemplifies this trend, marrying a seasonal Christmas theme—a staple of holiday TV—with the formulaic “Very Special Episode” structure popularised in the 1980s and 1990s.

The central narrative revolves around the murder of Phil Longley, discovered beaten to death in a laundromat. Detectives Laura Ballard and Stuart Gharty (played by Callie Thorne and Peter Gerety) are tasked with the case, their dynamic overshadowed by office gossip about their close working relationship—a dynamic that, despite their age difference and lack of romantic tension, fuels speculation among colleagues. Direction by Matt Reeves—then an up-and-coming filmmaker, later known for Cloverfield and Felicity—avoids the episode’s pitfalls through kinetic pacing and strong performances, particularly from Kathryn Erbe. Her portrayal of Rita is nuanced, capturing both her victimhood and her capacity for vengeance without reducing her to a mere poster child for AIDS awareness. Erbe’s commanding presence elevates scenes of confrontation, as when Rita coldly recounts her suffering to Ballard and Gharty, her voice steady but eyes betraying simmering rage. This performance so impressed showrunner Tom Fontana that he later cast Erbe in a recurring role on Oz, eventually leading to her iconic role as Lt. Alexandra Eames on Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Despite Erbe’s brilliance, the episode’s flaws ultimately outweigh its strengths. The Munch subplot, though briefly amusing, feels like a missed opportunity; Carol Kane’s talents are squandered on a thread that conflates emotional distance with outright hostility, rather than exploring the complexities of Munch’s unresolved grief. Similarly, the decision to end with a romantic clinch between Dr. Cox and Detective Bayliss at a Christmas party—a move that foreshadows the show’s increasingly soap-operatic tendencies—feels gratuitous, prioritising melodrama over earned character development.

In its attempt to balance social commentary, procedural thrills, and sentimental holiday vibes, All Is Bright epitomises the compromises that defined Homicide’s later seasons. While it occasionally rises above its formulaic structure through standout performances and earnest thematic intent, its reliance on clichés and undercooked subplots reflects a show that had lost its edge. The episode’s greatest irony lies in its very title: All Is Bright is anything but, instead serving as a dimly lit reminder of a once-revolutionary series struggling to stay relevant in an era demanding more spectacle than substance.

Gintama 2: Rules are Made to be Broken || A Review

Have you ever tried watching Gintama? Well, I think it's really a must that you already know or at least have watched an episode of it if you're going to read this review. By the way, this isn't a review of its anime because I still haven't watched the whole series yet, but this one will be all about the most recent live-action adaptation of Gintama. I already watched the first movie and I somehow expected that the second one would not be as good as the first—but I'm wrong. Actually, I like this one a little bit more than the first adaptation. Why? I'll tell you after I share with you a gist of what this live adaptation is all about.

About the Movie

Gintama 2: Rules are Made to be Broken is a 2018 live-action adaptation and a sequel to the first Gintama live-action, way back in 2017. This two-hour and fourteen-minute movie was written and directed by Yûichi Fukuda and was first released last August 17, 2018. So, like usual, the Odd Jobs (The Yorozuya) are again facing a tight money problem. They still haven't paid their monthly rents, and Otose is quite relentless in making them do so. To pay their rent and also to solve all their money-related problems, the Odd Jobs decided to hunt for jobs instead of waiting for them to come.

However, it seems that all of them have rotten luck because in every small job they do, they always meet the Shogun— who unfortunately became a victim of their rotten luck. But their problem doesn't end in meeting the Shogun because they also got involved in some kind of trouble, and this time it's an internal conflict within the Shinsengumi. A traitor stands amidst them, and he's bound to paint the Shinsengumi black. With Hijikata acting odd, the Odd Jobs were forced to mediate and protect the peace in Edo Japan again.

Compared to the 2017 adaptation, I find this also more entertaining to watch. Plot-wise, I find this movie more engaging because there are more characters introduced, plus I like how things turned out. The way they smoothly transitioned from comedic scenes to serious ones was something else. Further, I find this surprisingly funnier than the first adaptation. Well, that beetle hunting scene in the first movie was unforgettably funny, but overall I find this more entertaining and comedic. With all its vulgarity and dark humor, that shogun scene indeed me laughed really hard.

Also, the expressions of the actors and actresses who portrayed the Odd Jobs were undeniably silly. It's apparent that they definitely did their best to portray their characters and their silly expressions. I know they didn't tone down the expressions they wanted to portray because even though they didn't a hundred percent copied of those expressions, I can really see a resemblance. Further, at some point, I heard that they somehow sound so alike with the anime VAs of the characters they portrayed and for me, that's quite amazing.

This adaptation incorporates fewer CGIs, which didn't diminish the enjoyment I felt while watching it. Like the first movie, it also has cool action scenes and well-choreographed fights. And before I forget, Gintama won't be fully Gintama if it doesn't have its opening bloopers and signature anime parody. Like the anime, the opening credits also took more than one take because of the banter of the Odd Jobs. As for its parody, even though I haven't watched Evangelion, I immediately recognized the characters they're portraying. That scene was supposedly not funny, but with Gintoki as Misato, I couldn't help but laugh again.

Also, that part where they're about to go protect the Shogun...ahhhh they censored the title, but who wouldn't recognize the Catbus from My Neighbor Totoro. All across the whole movie, you can see a lot of stuff from other anime, and they're something that you really need to expect from a Gintama adaptation. But what totally caught me off guard in this movie is that it was able to bring tears to my eyes. I was surprised by how affecting the backstory of the villain was, yet that still doesn't justify his actions against Shinsengumi. I'm glad that he was able to get the end he deserved, and it was a satisfying resolution.

Overall, this movie was a solid sequel to its first live-action adaptation. There are no boring moments while watching this one, and every scene hooked me to the point that the more than two hours of viewing time seemed to just pass so fast. So if you're interested in a live action that wouldn't disappoint you, then it's high time that you should try the Gintama 2!

This movie just screams "early 2000s Jim Carrey." It's one of those films that, for a lot of people (and I'm definitely one of them!), still holds this really special, laugh-out-loud kind of place in their memory. The whole idea behind it is just so clever: what if some fed-up, complaining TV news guy suddenly gets to trade places with God for a bit? That's a premise ripe for some serious comedic chaos, right? Look, if you're even a casual fan of Jim Carrey's brand of comedy – you know, the way he contorts his face, that wild physical humor, the just *bonkers* energy he brings – then this movie totally delivers. He's really at the top of his game here, just unleashed. Watching him first get this mind-blowing power, then absolutely misuse it, is where most of the big laughs come from. Remember him parting the tomato soup in that restaurant? Or messing with poor Evan Baxter (Steve Carell, who is just brilliant here, by the way, playing it totally straight, which makes Bruce's antics even funnier!) on live TV? And honestly, the scene where he teaches his dog to use the toilet? Pure, unadulterated Carrey genius. It’s exactly what you paid for, and it's fantastic.
But here's the thing: it's not just non-stop gags. This movie has a surprising amount of heart. And can we just talk about Morgan Freeman as God? Seriously, could they have cast anyone better? He brings such a calm, incredibly wise, but also wonderfully amused vibe to the Almighty. He’s so patient with Bruce’s constant whining and just serves as this perfect, grounding presence against Carrey's sheer craziness. His scenes, strangely enough, often hit you where it matters most. They're not just funny; they actually make you think.

Beyond all the goofy humor, the film actually lands a pretty solid message. It’s all about responsibility, learning to be less selfish, and truly appreciating what’s right in front of you. Bruce starts off as this perpetually unhappy, self-pitying guy, and his journey to actually trying to make a positive difference in the world is handled really well. It touches on those big ideas like free will and just how overwhelming it would be to try and answer everyone's prayers, but it does it in a way that’s totally easy to digest for a comedy. It never feels like it's lecturing you, which is a big win.

Oh, and Jennifer Aniston as Grace, Bruce's long-suffering girlfriend? She's just wonderful. She brings such a warm, relatable touch to the story. She's the anchor for Bruce, representing the human connection he's totally losing sight of when he gets caught up in all his new godly powers. Their chemistry feels genuinely sweet, adding a nice little romantic comedy layer to this wild, fantastical plot.

The idea that the film is more about one guy’s personal growth wrapped up in a super unique, high-concept package is what I found to be a bit shallow. But I appreciated that it kept things light and focused on Bruce's own journey rather than getting bogged down in heavy, preachy stuff.

Sincerely, Bruce Almighty is just a really fun movie. It's genuinely buoyed by some fantastic performances, especially from Carrey (obviously!) and Freeman. It's a film that plays with that "what if?" idea in a super entertaining way, and it delivers plenty of real laughs alongside a simple, but surprisingly heartfelt, message. If you’re in the mood for some classic Jim Carrey humor, a dash of warmth, and a little reminder to appreciate the everyday miracles, it's absolutely worth grabbing some snacks and watching. It might not be a deep philosophical masterpiece, but it's a solid, satisfying cinematic treat.

Here's another charming and beautiful film from Studio Ghibli that's sure to warm your heart. It's Ponyo, a 2008 animated film by Hayao Miyazaki.

No matter how old this film is, I enjoyed watching it over and over again. In fact, this is also included in the tiny paintings that I requested from my daughter, @tegoshei, for my desk wall decorations in my room, and I posted them a few months ago with a brief story about each painting.

So, back to the film, this tells the story of a goldfish princess named Ponyo who yearns to become human. She escapes from her father, who is a powerful sorcerer who lives in the ocean, and meets this cute young boy, Sosuke, who rescued her from a glass bottle. Sosuke took care of Ponyo that much, and they became good friends.

Sosuke was so sad when Ponyo went back to the sea, but was still hoping to see her again.

This is definitely one of the cutest and heartwarming films. It has magical moments with stunning visual images, both from the sea and from the land.

This is not just for kids, but for the whole family too. It subtly explores the relationship between humans and the natural world. It teaches us how to take care of it and the importance of respecting the environment.

The scenes are really amazingly beautiful and magical. Some of the scenes that I love the most are the signaling of emotions from Sosuke's family while his father is on board the ship. The scene when Ponyo's siblings helped her to escape again was really so touching, and the scene when Ponyo came back as a human child and still recognized Sosuke, I love how funny that she just passed Sosuke's mom.😊

This film is really amazing and a must-watch as Studio Ghibli excels at creating magical worlds and never fails to amaze us, and Ponyo is one of their greatest animated films of all time. I can assure you that you will enjoy the stunning animation, especially the depictions of scenes from the water, which are absolutely breathtaking.

You will be in love with the elderly who are very supportive of Sosuke and Ponyo, too. And you will be amazed how Ponyo's mom set her free and entrusted her to Sosuke's love and care. I invite you to watch this film, and I assure you that you'll not be disappointed.

Film Review: Baby Driver (2017)

Creativity is in rather short supply in today’s Hollywood. This is perhaps best exemplified by the fact that nearly all its blockbusters are sequels, reboots, spin-offs, or, at best, adaptations of some obscure Marvel comic book. Filmmakers who attempt to inject creativity there are treated like pariahs, with one prime example being Edgar Wright, the English director renowned for a series of acclaimed comedies starring Simon Pegg. His attempt to utilise his creative talent for a Hollywood superhero blockbuster ended in disaster in the case of Ant-Man, culminating in his firing due to what is now euphemistically termed “creative differences”. And even minimal creativity is sufficient to make a quality film, as seen in Wright’s next project, the action film Baby Driver. Given its protagonist, central concept, plot, and genre classification, it could easily be called a kind of remake of Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn’s acclaimed Drive. However, Wright crafted it in such a way that no one can deny it’s a markedly different film.

The protagonist is Baby (Ansel Elgort), a young man with an extraordinary driving talent forced to use it for illegal activities. Local gang boss Doc (Kevin Spacey) employs him as a permanent member of his bank-robbing crew, tasked with swiftly and discreetly ferrying the team to safety ahead of the police. Baby stands out among his constantly rotating teammates through his modesty, quietness, and peak professionalism. This isn’t surprising, given he’s involved in crime against his will, motivated solely by the desire to repay Doc for his debts through robberies. Dreams of a better, brighter life are ignited by his encounter with Deborah (Lily James), a young waitress he becomes deeply infatuated with. She embodies everything he aspires to, but for Doc, she’s a tool to keep his young employee tied to more spectacular “jobs”. Complicating matters further are Baby’s road-rage-prone colleagues.

Despite striking similarities to Drive, the film’s concept originated as far back as 1994, with Wright partially utilising it for a music video for the song “Blue Song” by Mint Royale. The video later inspired the film’s opening robbery scene. Though the screenplay suggests an “Eurovision-style” frenzy of music videos, and while the protagonist has been envisioned for a younger, less cynical audience as an angelic ingenue thrust into a life of crime (a role perhaps best hinted at by his elderly, deaf-mute bodyguard, played by CJ Jones), Baby Driver is exceptionally original and, by today’s Hollywood standards, unusually auteur-driven. This applies not just to the extraordinary effort in crafting visceral action scenes but also to its effort to distinguish itself from similar fare through its relatively unconventional setting – Atlanta – and the inventive, unconventional use of its stellar cast.

Ansel Elgort, who at the age of 23 managed to establish himself as one of Hollywood’s most promising stars, is in his element as Baby—a role more fitting for icons like Steve McQueen and one that, in any other Hollywood film, would be played by an actor a decade older. Lily James, a young British actress previously known for Downton Abbey, delivers an outstanding performance in her sweet “nice girl next door” role. Kevin Spacey, as the sweet-talking yet terrifying gang boss, is also in his element, though he underperforms compared to his subordinates, including the prolific Jon Bernthal as a veteran robber and Jamie Foxx, who clearly enjoys portraying a villain both obnoxious and unnervingly intelligent. Finally, Jon Hamm, playing a cocaine- and sex-addicted criminal, moves away from his Mad Men Don Draper persona.

Wright’s film shines for its unconventional screenplay. Characters appear only to vanish as if they never existed, while others’ disappearances come in explosions of unexpected, explicit violence, granting Baby Driver a dark, naturalistic undertone far removed from the fairy-tale portrayal of its protagonist. However, the best example of Wright’s creativity is the ingenious idea of making the “cool” soundtrack—a mix of pop hits from the past half-century—serve not just as background music but as an integral, utterly believable plot element. The film does succumb to action clichés, particularly in the apocalyptic final showdown reminiscent of 1980s horror films. The climax, which forces the most satisfying possible happy ending, may strike some viewers as overly saccharine. Others, however, will see it as a perfect payoff—or a reminder that such endings are still possible, at least in the context of Hollywood filmmakers striving to express their creativity.

It had been a long time since I had seen a series and rarely movies, that's why I had stopped sharing reviews in this community for so long, but lately my girlfriend has been recommending me series, some that we end up watching together and others that she has already seen and wants me to see them too, as she has very good tastes for interesting stories, I give them a chance and today I want to make a small review of the last one I've seen, let's talk about the Spanish series “El internado: las cumbres”.

As I mentioned before, this is a Spanish series premiered on February 19, 2021, it belongs to the genre of suspense, mystery and teen drama. In this series we will enter a boarding school for teenagers with problems, but this boarding school is not like any other, it is located in a fairly isolated place, which allows the method of discipline is quite strict, coming to happen things out of the ordinary. Due to the strictness of the boarding school, some of the boarders decide to escape, but some things do not go well and only two of them (Amaia and Manuel) manage to leave the boarding school and fleeing to a forest, in which Manuel ends up being kidnapped by a mysterious figure with a mask, Amaia returns and together with his friends will try to find him.
What happens in this series?
Let's talk a little bit about what happens in the first episode. The series begins with some crows (this will be related to a lot in the series) that end up arriving at the boarding school las cumbres. This place full of many teenagers with problems, which they will discover as the episodes progress. Not two minutes have passed and there are already students fighting, but it's all part of a plan to get money hidden in the headmistress' office. This boarding school is so strict that the two students who were fighting as punishment are locked in a place called “the refrigerators”, which is a kind of dungeon room where they are made to stay there alone for a long time to “reflect on what they have done”.

We will meet the main characters, the students Adele and her brother Paul, Manuel, Amaia, who are planning to escape from the boarding school. Little by little we observe how things are handled at the boarding school, how there is even a kind of market with the inmates, since being such a strict place they must do things in a hidden way. There are characters that at first glance are seen as the villains and these are obviously the teachers of the boarding school (not all, but it is clear to know which one is) and the director, but little by little the characters will continue to add.
The story continues to advance exponentially, we keep evidencing how strict the boarding school is and why the students want to escape from there, they are all troubled kids and this just makes the boarding school a pretty explosive place. So, after having everything prepared the 4 students I mentioned at the beginning decide to escape, their plan is quite functional, but Adele at the last minute can't leave, she is afraid and decides to stay, so Paul can't leave her alone and stays, but tells Amaia and Manuel to go on and enjoy the freedom for them.

Amaia and Manuel are discovered while trying to escape, but they still manage to do it, not the way they had planned, but they manage to get into the forest. Once there, they both think that the hardest part is over, but by accident Manuel stumbles, falls down a kind of cliff and ends up hitting his head, so he ends up unconscious, Amaia does not find the way down, but instantly a strange figure approaches Manuel, a man dressed in black and wearing a mask as if he were a plague doctor, which gives a terrifying aspect.
Amaia not knowing what to do, tries to look for help, so she goes back to the road, sees a car and makes signs to it, but they turn out to be the boarding school teachers who are looking for her, so they catch her, they don't believe anything she tells them and just return her to the boarding school. There she talks to her friends, who also do not believe what Amaia says, because it is certainly a difficult situation to believe, but once they do, they decide to investigate in search of clues to find her friend Manuel.

My opinion about the series
From this point on I will only talk about my opinion regarding the series, I will do it without spoilers, just my perspective if it is worth it. Let's start with the story, personally it started a little slow, I mean, it's hard to understand at the beginning what is really happening, but once the plot develops is when everything becomes very interesting. I personally am a lover of stories with mysteries and a lot of suspense, which is appreciated from the first episode.
Something that I question a lot of the Spanish series (in the ones I have seen) is that they have a lot of sex scenes or similar that honestly do not add much to the plot, I would say that if they were not there it would not change anything, but I also understand that, being a story of teenagers, it is understandable that this also deals with that aspect of teenagers with altered hormones, but honestly I think they are left over, they are not as explicit scenes as other series, that's the good thing.

Talking a little about the characters I find them interesting, the reason for this is because of the great difference between each of them, at the beginning I mentioned that they are teenagers with problems, so it is entertaining to see how this kind of conflicts between the characters ends up making things difficult, so it is necessary to change certain aspects or even make them worse, which in certain occasions is understandable because of the place where they are, all this is a set of situations ranging from real life to fantasy.
Personally it is a series that I recommend, I am currently in the third season (there are only three) and it seems to me that everything is increasing, a story that is simmering, I know I complained a little about it, but I can not deny that the more you advance, the more it ends up trapping you, either by its history, the characters, the moments full of tension or even by the fear that can generate some scenes, this is certainly very good.

In general terms I would tell you to give it a chance, personally I have not seen so many Spanish series as I have already said, but this is certainly one that I would watch again, because I would surely catch more things that they missed by not fully understand the things that were happening at the beginning, so, it is a good series if you have nothing to see, I'm sure you will not regret it, for me it is 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Hacía bastante tiempo que no me veía alguna serie y en pocas ocasiones películas, por eso había dejado de compartir reseñas en esta comunidad por tanto tiempo, pero últimamente mi novia me ha estado recomendando series, algunas que terminamos viendo juntos y otras que ya ella ha visto y quiere que yo las vea también, como tiene muy buenos gustos para las historias interesantes, les doy una oportunidad y el día de hoy quiero hacerles una pequeña reseña de la última que he visto, hablemos de la serie española “El internado: las cumbres”.

Como mencioné anteriormente, esta es una serie española estrenada el 19 de febrero de 2021, pertenece al género del suspenso, misterio y drama adolescente. En esta serie nos adentraremos en un internado para adolescentes con problemas, pero este internado no es como cualquier otro, se encuentra en un lugar bastante aislado, lo que permite que el método de disciplina sea bastante estricto, llegando a suceder cosas fuera de lo normal. Debido a lo estricto del internado, algunos de los internados deciden escapar, pero algunas cosas no marchan bien y solo dos de ellos (Amaia y Manuel) consiguen salir del internado y huyendo a un bosque, en el cual Manuel termina siendo secuestrado por una figura misteriosa con una máscara, Amaia regresa y junto a sus amigos intentarán encontrarle.
¿Qué sucede en la película?
Hablemos un poco de lo que sucede en el primer episodio. La serie comienza con unos cuervos (esto estará relacionado con mucho en la serie) que terminan llegando al internado las cumbres. Este lugar lleno de muchos adolescentes con problemas, los cuales irán descubriendo mientras más avancen los episodios. No han pasado dos minutos y ya hay estudiantes peleando, pero todo es parte de un plan para lograr conseguir dinero escondido en la oficina de la directora. Este internado es tan estricto que los dos estudiantes que estaban peleando como castigo son encerrados en un lugar llamado “las neveras”, el cual es una especie de cuarto calabozo donde les hacen estar allí solos por mucho tiempo para “reflexionar lo que han hecho”.

Iremos conociendo a los personajes principales, los estudiantes Adele y su hermano Paul, Manuel, Amaia, quienes están planeando escapar del internado. Poco a poco vamos observando cómo se manejan las cosas en el internado, el cómo incluso existe una especie de mercado con los internos, ya que al ser un lugar tan estricto deben hacer las cosas de forma escondida. Hay personajes que a primera instancia se ven como los villanos y estos evidentemente son los profesores del internado (no todos, pero es evidente saber cuál lo es) y la directora, pero poco a poco seguirán sumándose los personajes.
La historia sigue avanzando de manera exponencial, seguimos evidenciando lo estricto que es el internado y el por qué los estudiantes quieren escapar de allí, todos son chicos problemáticos y esto solo hace el internado un lugar bastante explosivo. Así, luego de tener todo preparado los 4 estudiantes que mencioné al principio deciden escapar, su plan es bastante funcional, pero Adele a último minuto no puede irse, tiene miedo y decide quedarse, por lo cual Paul no puede dejarla sola y se queda, pero le dice a Amaia y Manuel que sigan y disfruten de la libertad por ellos.

Amaia y Manuel son descubiertos al intentar escapar, pero aún así logran hacerlo, no de la forma que tenían planeada, pero consiguen adentrase en el bosque. Una vez allí, ambos creen que lo más difícil ha terminado, pero por accidente Manuel se tropieza, cae por una especie de acantilado y termina golpeando su cabeza, por lo que termina inconsciente, Amaia no encuentra la forma de bajar, pero al instante una figura extraña se acerca a Manuel, un hombre vestido de negro y llevando una máscara como si fuese un médico de la peste, lo cual da un aspecto aterrador.
Amaia sin saber qué hacer, intenta buscar ayuda, por lo que regresa a la carretera, ve un auto y le hace señas, pero resultan ser los profesores del internado que la están buscando, por lo cual la atrapan, no creen nada de lo que les dice y solo la regresan al internado. Allí ella habla con sus amigos, quienes tampoco creen lo que Amaia dice, porque ciertamente es una situación difícil de creer, pero una vez que lo hacen, deciden investigar en busca de pistas para encontrar a su amigo Manuel.

Mi opinión sobre la película
A partir de este punto hablaré solo de mi opinión con respecto a la serie, lo haré sin spoilers, solo mi perspectiva de si vale la pena. Comencemos con la historia, personalmente esta comenzó un poco lenta, quiero decir, cuesta un poco entender al principio lo que realmente está ocurriendo, pero una vez que la trama se desarrolla es cuando todo se vuelve muy interesante. Yo en lo personal soy un amante de las historias con misterios y mucho suspenso, lo cual se aprecia desde el primer episodio.
Algo que cuestiono mucho de las series españolas (en las que he visto) es que tienen una cantidad de escenas de sexo o similares que honestamente no aportan mucho a la trama, diría que si no estuvieran tampoco cambiaría nada, pero también entiendo que, al ser una historia de adolescentes, es entendible que esto trate también con ese aspecto de los adolescentes con las hormonas alteradas, pero honestamente me parece que sobran, no son escenas tan explicitas como otras series, eso es lo bueno.

Hablando un poco sobre los personajes me parece que son interesantes, la razón de esto es por la gran diferencia entre cada uno de ellos, al principio mencioné que son adolescentes con problemas, por lo cual resulta entretenido ver como este tipo de conflictos entre los personajes termina dificultando las cosas, por lo cual es necesario cambiar ciertos aspectos o incluso hacerlos peor, lo cual en ciertas ocasiones es entendible por el lugar en el que se encuentran, todo esto es un conjunto de situaciones que van desde la vida real hasta lo fantasioso.
Personalmente es una serie que recomiendo, actualmente me encuentro en la tercera temporada (son solo tres) y me parece que todo va en aumento, una historia que se va cocinando a fuego lento, sé que me quejé un poco de ello, pero no puedo negar que mientras más avanzas, más te termina atrapando, ya sea por su historia, los personajes, los momentos llenos de tensión o incluso por el miedo que pueden generar algunas escenas, esto sin duda es muy bueno.

En términos generales yo les diría que le den una oportunidad, personalmente no he visto tantas series españolas como ya he dicho, pero esta sin duda es una que volvería a ver, porque seguramente captaría más cosas que pasaron por alto al no entender del todo las cosas que iban sucediendo al principio, por lo que, es una buena serie si no tienen nada para ver, estoy seguro que no se van a arrepentir, para mí son 4.5 de 5 estrellas.

It is a psychological thriller with many interesting elements. It was released in 2015, and I saw it in 2025. It has a unique atmosphere where all the actors are present in every scene, which lowers the production cost, and none of the actors are famous.

It begins with a group of people of different genders, races, creeds, languages, ages, and professions all standing in a concentric circle, one circle inside another, in a dark room. Once the light is turned on, they wake up and find themselves there without knowing how they got there. They are disoriented and begin to panic, wanting to know what happened and what is happening. As they begin to talk and move around, a mysterious lightning bolt strikes some of them, electrocuting them, and they realize they cannot move.

They all try to remember how they got there or who they are, as their memories have been erased, but one of them remembers something and says that before his abduction, he was kidnapped by aliens, an argument that was criticized by the most skeptical.

Throughout the film, there is anguish over discovering what happened and also over staying alive, as someone dies every two minutes. So they begin to analyze what they are observing: the floor lights up if they move in any direction, lights appear and disappear violently, and there is a deafening sound when death approaches in the form of lightning. The only thing they all see is themselves, and they realize that they are caught up in a system of elimination, so they begin to evaluate themselves and learn about their qualities, weaknesses, and strengths.

Are some more valuable than others? Who deserves to live and who doesn't? The group had the power to choose and sentence someone to death with their vote, but it had to be a majority. I asked myself these questions as I watched how they made their choice. For a moment, I wanted to enter the film and give my opinion. It's very difficult to be impartial when your life is in danger.

Es una película de estrés psicológico con muchos elementos interesantes, fue estrenada en el año 2015 y la vi este 2025, posee un único ambiente donde todos los actores están presentes en cada escena lo que baja el costo de producción además ningún actor es famoso.

Comienza con un grupo de personas de diferente sexo, razas, credos, idiomas, edades y profesiones todos parados en forma concéntrica, un círculo dentro de otro en una habitación oscura. Una vez que encienden la luz despiertan y se ven allí sin saber cómo llegaron, están desorientados y comienzan a sentir pánico por querer saber qué sucedió y qué sucede. A medida que comienzan a hablar y moverse un rayo misterioso cae electrocutado a algunos y se dan cuenta de que no pueden moverse.

Todos intentan recordar cómo llegaron o quienes son, sus memorias fueron borradas, pero uno de ellos recuerda algo y dice que antes de su abducción fue secuestrado por unos extraterrestres, argumento que fue criticado por los más escépticos.

En toda la película hay angustia por descubrir qué pasó y también por mantenerse con vida, ya que cada dos minutos alguien muere. Así que comienzan analizar lo que están observando el piso se enciende si se mueven a cualquier dirección, hay luces que aparecen y se van de forma violenta y un sonido ensordecedor cuando se aproxima la muerte en forma de rayo, lo único que todos ven es a ellos mismo y se dan cuenta de que están metidos en un sistema de eliminación por eso comienzan a evaluarse y a conocer sus cualidades, debilidades y fortalezas.

I also wasn't satisfied with the sudden change of direction and twist in the story. If it hadn't had such a stunted ending, I would have given it a 9.5.

Circle is a movie that every thriller lover has to see. I liked it. It left me reflecting on the system in general, on my vision and ability to judge others. I evaluated my empathy and my ability to survive in moments of extreme stress, which is zero. 🤣😂 I think they would have easily chosen me to die first, or before they did, I would have made the decision to end my life, not to be a martyr, but because I don't have control over my life and I don't want to leave it to others. Es una película para un público adulto, es de las pocas que repetiría en el futuro.

Creo que pasó una década para ver The Accountant 2, el tiempo pasa volando y uno ni cuenta se da, lo bueno es que después de tanto esperar esta secuela fue buena y newcesaria. Y bueno aunque esta película es menos enredada que la primera todavía tiene algunos problemitas de ritmo y coherencia que hacen que ciertas cosas seas como forzadas y hasta poco desarrolladas. La mala principal interpretada por Daniella Pineda, tiene un pasado fuerte como víctima de tráfico de personas y después de un accidente en carro se convierte de la nada en una super genio y aunque la historia está interesante, eso de que pase de ser víctima a convertirse en una asesina experta es forzado, hasta para una peli de acción. Los malos sirven más como obstáculos para los protagonistas que como personajes realmente amenazantes lo que me parece una lástima porque la película necesitaba malos más fuertes para equilibrar la química tan buena entre Affleck y Bernthal. La trama involucra una red de tráfico de personas que mantiene niños como rehenes para controlar a sus padres trabajadores indocumentados y esto es un tema serio pero la película no lo profundiza bien y hay momentos donde la historia se vuelve un poco confusa como cuando se revelan las conexiones entre diferentes personajes y organizaciones.

This film has a good script that makes the story flow smoothly and does not become tedious. In addition, the film has a great cast, good photography, soundtrack and more that we can highlight from the production. For me it is a 10/10, 100% recommendable.
