La reseña de esta semana es sobre una película Sur coreana que me gustó mucho, si mal no recuerdo creo que he visto ya 4 películas coreanas y esta es la primaria que no me deja emocionalmente destruida, traumada o que no me aburre, sí, no he tenido mucha suerte con las películas coreanas 🙄 a diferencia de los dramas que en su mayoría me han gustado casi todos los que he visto, ya sin mas preámbulo comenzamos con la reseña. 🥰

Me gustó mucho esta película, siento que es divertida, pero al mismo tiempo tiene una trama bastante profunda, al principio el protagonista solo piensa en divertirse, es como su filosofía de vida, un día mientras hacía una entrega de pollo del restaurante de su papá, ve a un agente de libertad condicional siendo atacado por lo cuál decide ayudarlo, al ver su destreza peleando le ofecen un trabajo como agente de artes marciales, al principio duda de aceptar el trabajo y se pregunta si es divertido, pero luego termina aceptando y se da cuenta que ayudar a la gente también lo hace feliz.

I really liked this movie, I feel it's funny, but at the same time it has a very deep plot, at the beginning the main character only thinks about having fun, it's like his philosophy of life, one day while making a delivery of chicken from his dad's restaurant, he sees a probation officer being attacked so he decides to help him, seeing his fighting skills he is offered a job as a martial arts agent, at first he hesitates to accept the job and wonders if it's fun, but then he ends up accepting and realizes that helping people also makes him happy.

Me gusto mucho el crecimiento del personaje que paso de ser un hombre que solo pensaba en divertirse a convertirse en un hombre que arriesga su vida por el bien de los demás, ya no podía quedarse sentado sabiendo que había gente en peligro por eso una frase memorable para mi es esta: "No me importaría si no lo supiera. Pero ahora lo sé. ¿Cómo puedo no hacer nada?" 😍 Ame esa frase. Y obvio no puedo dejar de mencionar El excelente trabajo que hizo Kim Woo Bin con este personaje. 🥰

I really liked the character's growth from a man who only thought about having fun to a man who risks his life for the good of others, he could no longer sit around knowing that there were people in danger so a memorable line for me is this one: "I wouldn't care if I didn't know. But now I know. How can I do nothing? " 😍 Love that sentence. And obviously I can't fail to mention The excellent job Kim Woo Bin did with this character. 🥰

Puntuación9/10 me pareció muy buena película, con comedía, muy buenas escenas de acción, y un tema bastante importante, ¿la recomiendo? Sí. 🥰

Plot

The film begins with a television news report about the results of a supposed cure for cancer that has been developed by some of the greatest scientists in the United States. The main component of this cure is a genetically modified measles virus. After this, we see what appears to be the completely desolate city of Manhattan three years later. We see a sports car being driven by an armed man with a German shepherd as his co-pilot as they try to hunt a deer. Yes, I also grew up watching this gem of a film since I was a child. It's definitely not a movie I ever tire of watching, even though I've seen it so many times that I know it by heart. Of all the Will Smith movies I've seen in my life, I think this is one of the very few that have had a real impact on me, beyond entertaining me with his unique acting style or his usual sarcastic humor. Apart from this, the very fact that it shows us a dystopian world where almost all of humanity has been wiped out by a mutant virus was one of the main reasons I was inspired to want to see more works of this kind. This is one of the first post-apocalyptic films I recommend watching, as well as being one of the best for its mix of action and psychological suspense, not to mention the high level of acting, direction, and production it has. If you haven't seen this movie, then you're missing out on the best that cinema has to offer.

I want to clarify that the reason I haven't talked about this great movie before is simply because I thought it was part of the famous zombie subgenre (a subgenre that I plan to do a special on in the future, talking about movies of this style). However, after some research and several reviews, I learned that this was not actually the case. A mistake that many of us have probably made is thinking that what we see in this film are zombies because of their origin and striking resemblance. But in reality, they are a unique version of vampires (something that is not too far from zombies or the undead, but that is a separate issue). What's more, this confusion even makes sense when you consider that the novel of the same name on which I Am Legend is based was one of the main sources of inspiration for the iconic 1960s film Night of the Living Dead, which gave rise to the zombie subgenre in the world of cinema. With this in mind, we can now continue with the review.

It comes as no surprise to anyone how great it is to see a protagonist like this one psychologically decline due to a series of unfortunate events and a very difficult life to cope with, such as Dr. Neville's in this film. I think this is why I find it very difficult to forget this story, with all its plot twists, surprises, and the way in which the protagonist's little credibility and confidence gradually disappear until they reach their breaking point at the end of the second arc. Details such as the mannequins, the rules, and Neville's perfectionist, nostalgic, and temperamental behavior highlight this common mental state in a lonely character like him. Another highlight that I really liked about this film is the way they show us these mutants or nocturnal creatures in the city. This version of albino vampires and cannibals resembles zombies, but they have characteristics that make them very different from the undead: their intelligence, behavior, and instincts.

I also really like the relationship Neville has with Sam, his German shepherd. As his best and only companion in this dystopian and dangerous world, we can see this relationship as an excellent partnership between a man and his best friend. Es difícil no llorar o sentir dolor en esta parte de la película. Por otro lado, tenemos lo que es el tercer acto y el final de esta cinta. Incluso hasta sacaron un final alternativo para darle algo a los fans por lo cual hablar durante estas últimas décadas. No es una novedad ver una excelente película con un final que no es igual de bueno. Y yo soy de esos que esperan que un final sea igual de bueno que su obra en sí, ya que sino no tendría sentido. Pero creo que en este caso se ha exagerado mucho.

The decision he makes in the end is a clear sign that sometimes you have to shut up, listen, and delegate. Undoubtedly, this is a clear message that we are not alone in this world. I consider this to be one of the best post-apocalyptic films with such good character and story development that exists today.

Last but not least, let's talk about the technical and visual aspects of this film. Directed by the same person who brought us the famous Constantine, it is to be expected that the audiovisual quality is so good for the year in which it was released. The cinematography, atmosphere, and visual effects make this film a gem of its kind. The aerial and moving shots, the views of the completely desolate city of Manhattan, and the mixture of light tones and dark, silent scenes at key moments are wonderful. The makeup and visual appearance of the Darkseekers in the film are also top-notch. The excellent use of practical and computer-generated visual effects offers us a variety of unforgettable scenes. The sound effects are top-notch, as is the film's soundtrack. Especially in those moments of tension when you feel like your heart is going to jump out of your chest because of the suspense it conveys. Without a doubt, this masterpiece is one you must see at least ten times in your life.

Personally, I give it a 9/10 rating in terms of the science fiction, suspense, and action genres.

Dirigida por el mismo que nos trajo la famosa obra de Constantine, es de esperarse un nivel audiovisual tan bueno para el año en el que fue estrenada. Tanto la fotografía como el ambiente y los efectos visuales que tiene esta cinta la hacen una joya en su tipo. Las tomas aéreas o en movimiento, las vistas de la ciudad de Manhattan completamente desolada y la mezcla de luces con tonos claros y escenarios oscuros y en silencio en momentos clave son una maravilla. También el tema del maquillaje y el aspecto visual de los Darkseekers en la película son de lo mejor. El excelente uso de los efectos visuales prácticos y hechos por computadora nos ofrece una variedad de escenarios inolvidables. Los efectos de sonido son de lo mejor, al igual que lo es la banda sonora que tiene la película. Sobre todo en esos momentos de tensión en los que sientes que el corazón se te va a salir por el suspenso que transmite. Sin duda alguna, esta obra maestra es una que debes de ver al menos diez veces en tu vida.

Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 9/10 en lo que respecta al género de ciencia ficción, suspenso y acción.

Como les decía, pensé que iba a ser otra película de esas medias tontas, pero me equivoque. Es una muy linda historia que nos muestra las complejidades de la adolescencia y como en esa etapa puede haber gente que ya sabe lo que quiere para su futuro (que afortunados) y otros a los que les cuesta más descubrirlo. También nos muestra ciertos prejuicios que podemos tener hacia las personas, incluso hasta a mí me hizo dudar, pensé que Barnes era el típico chico malo que iba a llevar a Remi por el mal camino, pero fue todo lo contrario. Creo que Remi ayudó un montón a Barnes a crecer y todo lo que ocurrió fue necesario para fortalecer su relación y construir algo sano.

It is a very nice story that shows us the complexities of adolescence and how at that stage there may be people who already know what they want for their future (how fortunate) and others who have a harder time discovering it. It also shows us certain prejudices that we can have towards people, even to me it made me doubt, I thought Barnes was the typical bad boy who was going to lead Remi astray, but it was the opposite. I think Remi helped Barnes grow up a lot and everything that happened was necessary to strengthen their relationship and build something healthy.

Esta relación se forma a lo largo de todas las estaciones, vemos como se conocen un día de invierno y así se van viendo una vez por estación, hasta llegar al verano donde deciden dar rienda suelta a sus sentimientos y viven una hermosa historia que se verá un poco truncada por las confusiones y los enredos de la vida.

La verdad es que me encantó como estuvo contada la historia, me resultó muy entretenida y pude empatizar con los protagonistas. A pesar de ser polos opuestos en principio. Ambos se complementan muy bien y me gustó eso de que uno nunca sabe cuando va a conocer a alguien que te inspire a ser tu mejor versión a pesar de las dificultades.

The truth is that I loved how the story was told, I found it very entertaining and I could empathize with the protagonists. Despite being polar opposites in principle. They both complement each other very well and I liked the fact that you never know when you will meet someone who inspires you to be your best self despite the difficulties.

En definitiva, me gustó muchísimo la historia. Me ofreció más de lo esperado y me gusta cuando esto sucede porque me sorprende. Sin dudas, fue una muy buena idea verla, pase un rato agradable, me deje cautivar por este amor juvenil y disfrute de la historia sin muchas vueltas. Es una película que recomendaría a todos los adolescentes y a los que les gustan este tipo de tramas que muestran más de lo que dicen a simple vista. Me resultó muy linda, así que está más que recomendada por mi parte. 

All in all, I really enjoyed the story. It offered me more than I expected and I like it when this happens because it surprises me. Undoubtedly, it was a very good idea to watch it, I had a good time, I let myself be captivated by this young love and enjoyed the story without many twists and turns. It is a movie that I would recommend to all teenagers and to those who like this kind of plots that show more than what they say at first sight. I found it very cute, so it is more than recommended by me.

Synopsis: When a family moves into a new house in the suburbs, they are convinced that they are not alone after a traumatic event.

One of the main characteristics of horror movies based on the supernatural aspect is to make people have an immersive experience within the narrative that is being developed. All the “small” details count, and it is necessary to pay attention to each one of them in order to make the most of the experience that a production within this cinematic genre brings. This was the intention of this project, which despite being well-intentioned and relatively interesting, ended up losing its purpose by always going around in tiresome circles.

Variety

In the plot, a family has just bought a new house in the suburbs. They are recovering from some personal problems, and one of them is precisely the unstable relationship they have with their youngest daughter, after she lost her best friend (who was murdered). However, shortly after they start living in this place, they realize that something is wrong there. An entity lives in the house, and it is precisely Chloe who maintains a kind of “connection” with what can’t be seen, creating a very turbulent situation as no one believes what she says.

There is no great mystery to be unraveled here (which ends up being a relatively bad point because it generates a possible lack of interest in those who are watching the movie... at least that is how I felt most of the time), and within a simplistic plot, the script tries to “hook” the audience with another bait: the perception of how everything happens. Traditionally, it is the audience that follows what happens in the stories through the characters' point of view, but here, the opposite happens: the point of view to be observed is that of the entity.

The Movie Buff

The “camera game” is the great asset of this movie, which, despite having an irritatingly slow pace throughout its poor development, still manages to be somewhat attractive by offering the audience an immersion well directed by Steven Soderbergh (who, by the way, did a positively good job... considering the fact that he is a director who does not usually work with this cinematographic genre), which could have been even better if the script written by David Koepp had been more dynamic and meaningful, by showing an entity as the real protagonist.

Aesthetically, there is evident care with the production of this movie. Narratively, everything is very simple (in fact, the characters end up suffering because of this, because there is no depth whatsoever about everything that happens to them and this is very frustrating because there is nothing substantial about them), but the visual part is exquisite and, in many scenes, it seems as if the audience is playing some kind of video game in the first person. Whenever the focus is on the entity, we can perceive the small details that support the narrative and a “dark” climate of “voyeurism”.

Unfortunately, this wasn't enough to make the movie more daring. There are few suspenseful scenes, with a reasonable level of fear, and the drama, in general, is poorly explored. There's no way to create empathy for any of the characters, especially since the movie is 80 minutes long (and most of it has the entity as the main character). Any and all more robust ideas end up being "eroded" by escapist decisions, which, by the way, are edited by dry cuts of scenes, fostering the idea that this movie has something experimental in its entire conception.

The performances are wavering everywhere, and the only important name in the cast is Lucy Liu, who, like all the other characters, can't do anything special with what the script gave her. Any and all chances to create some more predominant tension are "swallowed up" by a great "stagnation" where it seems that nothing relevant to the plot happens. The characters just “parade” through different rooms of the house without bringing anything that captures the attention of those watching the movie, and even the entity does not end up having all its due recognition.

Flood Magazine

Presence relies on a narrative subjectivity that does not provide any further explanations, but merely flirts with some aspects of the genre in an attempt to “intrigue” the audience. Although it brings some very interesting criticisms (such as the broken relationship between a family seeking reconciliation and the very harmful behavior of generation Z in today’s society), the script is almost inert, with extremely specific moments that give the movie a lifespan that is lost due to the lack of new narrative elements. In short, here is a good idea, but with very poor execution.

Una de las principales características del cine de terror basado en lo sobrenatural es ofrecer a los espectadores una experiencia inmersiva dentro de la narrativa que se desarrolla. Todos los pequeños detalles cuentan, y es necesario prestar atención a cada uno de ellos para aprovechar al máximo la experiencia que ofrece una producción de este género cinematográfico. Esta era la intención de este proyecto, que a pesar de ser bienintencionado y relativamente interesante, terminó perdiendo su propósito al dar vueltas en círculos tediosos.

En la trama, una familia acaba de comprar una casa nueva en las afueras. Se recuperan de algunos problemas personales, y uno de ellos es precisamente la inestable relación que mantienen con su hija menor, tras la pérdida de su mejor amiga (quien fue asesinada). Sin embargo, poco después de comenzar a vivir en este lugar, se dan cuenta de que algo anda mal. Una entidad vive en la casa, y es precisamente Chloe quien mantiene una especie de "conexión" con lo invisible, creando una situación muy turbulenta, ya que nadie cree en lo que dice.

No hay un gran misterio que desentrañar (lo cual termina siendo un punto relativamente malo porque genera una posible falta de interés en quienes ven la película... al menos así me sentí la mayor parte del tiempo), y dentro de una trama simplista, el guion intenta "enganchar" al público con otro cebo: la percepción de cómo sucede todo. Tradicionalmente es el público el que sigue lo que sucede en las historias a través del punto de vista de los personajes, pero aquí ocurre lo contrario: el punto de vista a observar es el del ente.

El "juego de cámara" es la gran baza de esta película, que, a pesar de su ritmo irritantemente lento durante su pobre desarrollo, logra resultar atractiva al ofrecer al público una inmersión bien dirigida por Steven Soderbergh (quien, por cierto, hizo un trabajo realmente bueno, considerando que no es un director que suela trabajar con este género cinematográfico), que podría haber sido aún mejor si el guion de David Koepp hubiera sido más dinámico y significativo, mostrando a una entidad como el verdadero protagonista.

Estéticamente, se aprecia un cuidado evidente en la producción de esta película. Narrativamente, todo es muy simple (de hecho, los personajes acaban sufriendo por ello, ya que no hay profundidad en todo lo que les sucede, lo cual resulta muy frustrante, ya que carecen de sustancia), pero el apartado visual es exquisito y, en muchas escenas, parece como si el público estuviera jugando a algún tipo de videojuego en primera persona. Uma das principais características dos filmes de horror que tem como base o aspecto sobrenatural, é fazer com que as pessoas consigam ter uma experiência imersiva dentro da narrativa que está sendo desenvolvida. Todos os “pequenos” detalhes contam, e é preciso estar atento a cada um deles para conseguir aproveitar ao máximo a experiência que uma produção dentro desse gênero cinematográfico traz. Essa foi a intenção deste projeto, que apesar de bem intencionado e relativamente interessante, acabou se perdendo dentro da própria proposta ao andar sempre em círculos cansativos.

Na trama, uma família acaba de comprar uma nova casa no subúrbio. Eles estão se recuperando de alguns problemas pessoais, e um deles é justamente a relação instável que eles têm com a sua filha mais nova, após ela perder a melhor amiga (que foi assassinada). No entanto, pouco tempo depois de começarem a morar nesse lugar, eles percebem que há algo de errado ali. Uma entidade vive na casa, e é justamente Chloe quem mantém uma espécie de “conexão” com o que não pode ser visto, criando uma situação bastante turbulenta à medida em que ninguém acredita no que ela diz.

Não há nenhum grande mistério a ser desvendado aqui (o que acaba sendo um ponto relativamente ruim porque isso gera um possível desinteresse em quem está assistindo ao filme... ao menos foi assim que eu me senti na maior parte do tempo), e dentro de uma trama simplista, o roteiro tenta “fisgar” o público com uma outra isca: a percepção sobre como tudo acontece. Tradicionalmente, é o público que acompanha o que acontece nas estórias através do ponto de vista dos personagens, mas aqui, acontece justamente o inverso: pois o ponto de vista a ser observado é o da entidade.

O “jogo de câmeras” é o grande trunfo deste filme, que mesmo tendo um ritmo irritantemente cadenciado em todo o seu pobre desenvolvimento, ainda consegue ser algo minimamente atrativo por oferecer ao público uma imersão bem direcionada por Steven Soderbergh (que aliás, fez um trabalho positivamente bom... considerando o fato de que ele é um diretor que não costuma trabalhar com esse gênero cinematográfico), que poderia ter sido algo ainda melhor se o roteiro escrito por David Koepp fosse mais dinâmico e significante, ao mostrar uma entidade como a real protagonista.

Esteticamente, há cuidado evidente com a produção desse filme. Narrativamente, tudo é muito simples (inclusive, os personagens acabam sofrendo com isso, porque não há o menor aprofundamento sobre tudo o que acontece com eles e isso é muito frustrante porque não há nada de substancial neles), mas a parte visual é requintada e em muitas cenas, parece que o público está jogando algum tipo de vídeo game em primeira pessoa. Sempre que o foco está voltado para a entidade, podemos perceber os pequenos detalhes que sustentam à narrativa e um clima “obscuro” de “voyerismo”.

Infelizmente, isso não foi o suficiente para tornar o filme em algo mais ousado. Há poucas cenas de suspense, com um nível razoável de medo e o drama, de maneira geral, é bastante mal explorado. Não há como criar empatia por nenhum dos personagens, até mesmo porque o filme tem 80 minutos (e a maior parte dele tem a entidade como personagem principal). Toda e qualquer ideia mais robusta acaba sendo “corroída” por decisões escapistas, que aliás, são editadas por cortes de cenas vem secos, fomentando a ideia de que esse filme traz algo de experimental em toda sua concepção.

Performances oscilantes estão por todos os lados, e o único nome de peso no elenco é o da Lucy Liu, que assim como todos os outros personagens, não consegue fazer nada demais com o que foi dado no roteiro. Toda e qualquer chance de criar alguma tensão mais predominante é “engolida” por grande um “marasmo” onde parece que nada de relevante para a trama acontece. Os personagens apenas “desfilam” por diferentes cômodos da casa sem trazer nada que prenda a atenção de quem está assistindo ao filme, e até mesmo a entidade não acaba tendo todo seu devido reconhecimento.

Presença aposta em uma subjetividade narrativa que não traz maiores explicações, apenas flerta com alguns aspectos do gênero para tentar “intrigar” o público. Ainda que traga alguns tipos de críticas muito interessantes (como a relação quebrada entre uma família em busca de reconciliação e o comportamento bastante danoso da geração Z na sociedade atual), o roteiro é algo quase inerte, tendo momentos extremamente pontuais que dão ao filme uma sobrevida que se perde pela falta de novos elementos narrativos. Em síntese, eis aqui uma boa ideia, mas com uma execução bem pobre.

I guess I’m in a feel-good mood these days because that’s mostly all I’ve been seeing. But instead of the regular contemporary movies, I decided to go for a classic, and one that brings back a lot of pleasant memories, even with its somewhat ridiculous premise. Filled with good vibes and casting that is set to leave you in high spirits, I present to you…

Notting Hill (1999)

William Thacker is recently divorced and owns a bookstore in Notting Hill. He shares a flat with a Welshman named Spike, and the two try to overcome a life of despair in their own way. One day, the famous Hollywood actress Anna visits his bookstore to buy a book. Shortly after, Thacker runs into her and spills juice on her. He then takes her to his flat to clean her up, where they end up sharing a kiss before Anna leaves.

Soon after, Anna invites him to the Ritz hotel, and soon after, a cute boy-meets-girl romance seems to be brewing with them. But as the life of a celebrity is constantly tumultuous, and with Anna struggling with indecision, Thacker must decide whether or not to pursue and claim the love of his life or go back to his rather peaceful, albeit lonely life.

I will be honest to say that I’m not the biggest fan of romantic comedies, but this one is in a class of its own, with scenes that will more or less leave you grinning from ear to ear. It’s a deeply engaging movie that is heartwarming and has all the elements that make it rightfully a romantic comedy classic.

One thing I love about Notting Hill is how beautifully it utilizes its star actors. Both Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts deliver well on their roles in a way that leaves no room for doubt. I love how laid-back Hugh Grant’s character is. I don’t know if that’s a reflection of how he is in real life, but it was a classy role. He didn’t do too much, and even the cheesy lines are delivered with finesse and a way that doesn’t make you cringe.

The story is deeply unrealistic in my opinion. It’s those kinds of movies, you know, that have no possibility of happening, but you enjoy them anyway because they’re just that good. Sure, there are a lot of logical loopholes, but I don’t know, you tend to look at the bigger picture with films like these. Maybe trust the process. The heroine was quite annoying with all her indecisiveness, but we can’t have everything, can we? Hope you enjoy!

Welcome to another post here in the community.

Now let’s talk about Dungeon Meshi, or Delicious in Dungeon, as it became known in the West. I confess I started watching it rather casually, just because I found the premise intriguing. A group of adventurers who decide to cook and eat monsters while exploring a dungeon? Seriously, it immediately struck me as a mix between a tabletop RPG and MasterChef, and it was precisely that crazy idea that hooked me right away.

The plot begins simply: a group of adventurers led by Laios loses a party member his sister, Falin to a dragon.

Without resources and out of time, they decide to go back into the dungeon immediately to save her... but they’re *out of food*. That’s when the unusual plan kicks in: *survive by eating the monsters they face*. And so, with each episode, we’re introduced to a new creature and a bizarre new recipe, ranging from **[grilled slime](https://dungeon-meshi.fandom.com/wiki/Slime)** to **[mandrake omelet](https://dungeon-meshi.fandom.com/wiki/Mandrake)**.

It might sound silly, but it’s precisely that lighthearted tone that makes the series so enjoyable.

The anime does a great job balancing humor, fantasy, and character development.

Each group member has a well-defined personality: Marcille, the grumpy elf mage who’s reluctant to eat monsters; Chilchuck, the halfling trap specialist; and the amazing Senshi, the dwarf cook with the most enthusiastic love for gastronomy I’ve ever seen in an anime. He turns absolutely everything into food with a level of seriousness that borders on the comedic.

The animation was handled by Studio Trigger (responsible for anime like Kill la Kill and Cyberpunk: Edgerunners) and, as expected, it’s gorgeous. The visuals are colorful, expressive, and dynamic, with fluid combat scenes and creative monster designs. The dishes are animated with such detail that there were several moments where I actually felt like eating something that, in real life, would make me run away.

Another thing I really liked was the world-building. The dungeon isn’t just a random place full of monsters; it has its own rules, ecosystems, and unique biologies, like a miniature living world. It reminded me a lot of Made in Abyss, but with a much lighter tone. In fact, the manga's authors, Ryoko Kui, were highly praised for this creative and logical approach to designing both creatures and the environment.

Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows.

The beginning might feel a bit slow if you’re expecting an epic story. The first episodes focus heavily on the culinary adventures and less on the main plot.

But I insist;

it’s worth sticking with it, because little by little we learn more about Falin, the dungeon’s secrets, and the characters’ personal traumas and backstories. Around the halfway point of the season, the tone shifts significantly, including more serious and emotional moments. It’s also worth mentioning the soundtrack, which is subtle yet effective, and the the dubbing seems quite confident in funny moments, nothing as forced as a laugh “HAHAHAHAHAH” or something like that.

Senshi talking about “chimera tentacle stew” in a chef’s voice is simply hilarious.

Really??

In the end, Dungeon Meshi was, for me, one of the biggest surprises of 2024. It doesn’t have the deep emotional weight of Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End, (I honestly don’t remember if I posted a review of that, I’ll check later), but it delivers something I truly value: originality with charm. It’s the kind of anime that reminded me why I love this medium because only in anime can the idea of cooking monsters in a dungeon become a rich, funny, and yes, touching narrative. If you enjoy fantasy with a touch of humor, want something light, creative, and with captivating characters, Dungeon Meshi is a must-watch.
