Synopsis: The presence of a new (and extraordinary) type of digital family assistant called AIA completely changes not only the routine, but also the entire life of a family that is specifically selected to test it for a while in their own home.

Lately (to be more precise), Blumhouse is really reaching its maturity in decadent projects. It's not about not having good ideas (because they exist), it's about not knowing how to make the most of them in a solid and truly relevant way. So, what reaches the public is just another new story about artificial intelligence and technology being used as the great "villain", within a script that is extremely lazy and unconvincing (no matter how fun the main idea of the plot may seem at first glance).

Curtis works for an advertising company and will need to prove (once again) his worth as a professional, and to do so, he will need to win over a new potential client. A company that is not well-known in the large-scale market, but that seems to have a perfect project under lock and key: AIA, a digital family assistant that was developed to learn the behavior of the people around it, and thus recognize the short, medium and long-term needs that these people may have in their lives. On paper, the idea is great, but in practice it is terrible.

The way the script works with the theme of artificial intelligence as a villain without a “physical body” (because here what exists is just a “mold” of a generic robot to try to “personify” the presence of something evil inside and outside the house where it is located) is regrettable. Initially, the proposal is quite interesting (although the film already has visibly apparent execution problems, such as some poorly edited scenes), but the essence of the plot becomes increasingly ridiculous as the script tries to delve deeper into its own “surreal” proposal.

The Record

AIA works not only as a “revolutionary” virtual assistant, but also ends up creating its own “intelligence” and within a network of completely unconnected facts (although there is a minimal effort to try to connect them within the plot, which ends up being something extremely convoluted and completely meaningless at the end of the third act, because it ends up wanting to be something much bigger than it really is), it becomes a threat to the entire Curtis family. Trying to become a new “member” of this family, AIA protects them at all costs, but it comes at a very high price.

At first, no one realizes the harm AIA is doing (because the “illusions” she creates are based on the “activities” she performs to help each member of the family), however, once things start to get out of control and chaos begins to set in, they need to unite and fight against this invisible evil. In the midst of all this, the script tries to “flirt” with some aspects involving morals and ethics (for example), in addition to a possible situation where anyone and everyone could end up becoming a hostage to technology if they don’t know how to live in that place.

AV Club

The first half of the movie manages to present good arguments and even draws attention to the themes being addressed, but when the second half begins, any and all valid arguments are ridiculed with totally questionable ideas and decisions (and some are even too stupid to be taken seriously). The script ends up distorting its own material, creating a kind of “contradiction” about AIA’s attitudes towards her own “needs”. What could have been a good story was converted into something tiresome and boring.

The insertion of a parallel suspense plot (which is presented in the first scenes) only manages to make things even worse, because throughout its 80 minutes (actually, a little less than that) the fragmentation of ideas is lost in inconsistencies and poor development (both of the narrative itself and of its characters). The cast led by John Cho is pretty bad, and only he, alongside Katherine Waterston, manages to deliver something minimally interesting when it comes to acting. Overall, all the characters are poorly developed.

Technically simple (in all its most artificial aspects), AfrAId’s production only makes everything even more implausible and Chris Weitz's direction (who, by the way, was also responsible for writing the script... by accumulating this double role he makes the project doubly bad, and without having to make much effort) helps to cement the poor quality of the project, which is fragile and presents a conclusion that seems to be laughing in the face of its audience. Desta, o que chega até o público só mais uma nova estória sobre inteligência e tecnologia artificial sendo usada como a grande “vilã”, dentro de um roteiro que é extremamente preguiçoso e nada convincente (por mais divertida que a ideia principal do argumento possa parecer em um primeiro momento na trama).

Uma empresa que não é conhecida no mercado de ampla escala, mas que parece ter um projeto perfeito guardado a sete-chaves: AIA, um assistente familiar digital que foi desenvolvido para aprender os comportamentos das pessoas ao seu redor, e assim, reconhecer as necessidades de curto, médio e longo prazo que essas pessoas possam ter em suas vidas. No papel a ideia é ótima, na prática é terrível.

The Day of the Jackal has a new adaptation. This new version has been made in serial format and set in the present day, to make it attractive to today's viewers. In the 1970s there was already an excellent film adaptation of Frederick Forsyth's novel. I saw that film as a child one day when it was shown on free-to-air television in my country. I think it was one of the first I saw about a professional killer.

Michael Caton-Jones is the director of the series and in the past he had already made a remake of the 1970s film. That remake was called Jackal, plain and simple. Starring Richard Gere and Bruce Willis, I saw it in the theater and remember it perfectly. I liked that version, it was entertaining at the time. Now, it has had ups and downs in its productions. Caton-Jones was also in charge of the second Basic Instint movie, which was complete garbage, but he has also directed excellent movies like Mephis Belle, Thsi Boys Life, Shooting Dogs and Rob Roy.

This new take on the story, no longer is a president the Jackal's main target. Now he will be a technology tycoon looking to destroy the system. The ideological tinge is present but I didn't care much, in this case I wanted entertainment and the series achieves it in a part of its episodes, but it slips with other things they added. Nothing is perfect.

El Día del Chacal tiene una nueva adaptación. Esta nueva versión se ha realizado en formato de serie y ambientada en la actualidad, para hacerla atractiva a los espectadores de hoy. En los años setenta ya hubo una excelente adaptación cinematográfica de la novela de Frederick Forsyth. Vi esa película de niño un día que la emitieron en la televisión en abierto de mi país. Creo que fue una de las primeras que vi sobre un asesino profesional.

Michael Caton-Jones es el director de la serie y en el pasado ya había hecho un remake de la película de los años setenta. Ese remake se llamaba Chacal, a secas. Protagonizada por Richard Gere y Bruce Willis, la vi en el cine y la recuerdo perfectamente. Me gustó esa versión, fue entretenida en su momento. Ahora bien, ha tenido altibajos en sus producciones. Caton-Jones también estuvo a cargo de la segunda película de Basic Instint, que era una completa basura, pero también ha dirigido excelentes películas como Mephis Belle, Thsi Boys Life, Shooting Dogs y Rob Roy.

Esta nueva visión de la historia, ya no es un presidente el principal objetivo del Chacal. Ahora será un magnate de la tecnología que busca destruir el sistema. Eddie Redmayne is the hook actor for this story. I think he is an excellent actor and here he is the one who gets to save part of the story. I thought his performance was good. I loved that they made references to the seventies movie in some scenes. Redmayne fulfills the role of the cool, meticulous actor. I enjoyed everything about his preparations before an assignment and all the mishaps that come his way.

The problem arises when the personal subplot of El Chacal and his wife is shown. It was a real pain to watch actress Ursula Corbero in the role of the wife. This seemed like a parody, at times it reminded me of a telenovela. What a waste of characters and subplots. It is really unbearable everything that happens with this relationship and the worst is the wife's family. El Chacal's old mother-in-law and brother-in-law. I don't know who is the actor who plays the brother-in-law but even I wanted to kill him. The old woman and the son are tremendous pimps and freeloaders, they live and party in the house of their daughter's multimillionaire husband, eat his food, live like princes and have the gall to question and meddle in the couple's personal affairs.

The Spanish gold-digging family in the series is for me the worst of the story, but I also find it a drag not to have an antagonist with the same charisma as Redmayne. Unfortunately Lashana Lynch was not a sympathetic character, it was hard to empathize with her. Her obsession with finding the Jackal lacked passion, she didn't believe in her character. Her personal life is also pure unnecessary bullshit. It's impossible for both characters to be on the same level. I think it was a big mistake. Surely the actress does her best effort and work, but on screen it doesn't work. You don't feel the chemistry and tension that a good protagonist and his antagonist should have.

To pass the time and enjoy the murders committed by the Jackal. I think it will have a second season.

Eddie Redmayne es el actor gancho para esta historia. Creo que es un excelente actor y aquí es el que consigue salvar parte de la historia. Su actuación me pareció buena. Me encantó que hicieran referencias a la película de los setenta en algunas escenas. Redmayne cumple con el papel de actor frío y meticuloso. Disfruté con todo lo relacionado con sus preparativos antes de un encargo y con todos los contratiempos que se le presentan.

El problema surge cuando se muestra la subtrama personal de El Chacal y su esposa. Ha sido todo un martirio ver a la actriz Ursula Corbero en el papel de la esposa. Esto parecía una parodia, por momentos me recordaba a una telenovela. Que desperdicio de personajes y subtramas. Es realmente insoportable todo lo que pasa con esta relación y lo peor es la familia de la esposa. La vieja suegra de El Chacal y el cuñado. No se quien es el actor que hace de cuñado pero hasta yo lo quise matar. La vieja y el hijo son unos tremendos alcahuetes, y aprovechados, viven y se divierten en la casa del multimillonario marido de su hija, comen su comida, viven como príncipes y tienen la desfachatez de cuestionar y entrometerse en los asuntos personales de la pareja.

La familia cazafortunas española de la serie es para mí lo peor de la historia, pero también me parece una lata no tener un antagonista con el mismo carisma que Redmayne. Lamentablemente Lashana Lynch no era un personaje simpático, era difícil empatizar con ella. Su obsesión por encontrar al Chacal carecía de pasión, no creía en su personaje. Su vida personal también es pura mierda innecesaria. Es imposible que ambos personajes estén al mismo nivel. Creo que fue un gran error. Seguramente la actriz hace su mejor esfuerzo y trabajo, pero en pantalla no funciona. No se siente la química y la tensión que deben tener un buen protagonista y su antagonista.

Para pasar el rato y disfrutar de los asesinatos cometidos por el Chacal. Creo que tendrá una segunda temporada.

The western will always be alive, even if there are seasons in which good productions are scarce, there will always be stories set in the wild west that attract the public's attention and rekindle the enthusiasm for a fascinating genre. This series has six episodes and it is available on Netflix and apparently it has been a success on that platform, besides a large sector of the specialized critics have agreed in favorable opinions. I was looking forward to watching it since I stumbled upon the trailer.

Those responsible for this story are the screenwriter and creator Mark L Smith, known for having participated in the screenplay of the film The Revenant by González Iñirratu, starring Leo DiCaprio. His filmography includes several interesting scripts, including the remake of Twisters, which was released last year. In addition to directing the miniseire Peter Berg, who has a lot of experience in both directing and making thrillers and action stories. I really liked his film Very Bad Things, which was a delight at the time. Although many others like the film and the Friday Night Lights series. Me gustan los westerns porque me recuerdan a mi infancia, cuando todos los domingos por la tarde veía películas de vaqueros en la televisión.

Seis episodios tiene esta serie que está disponible en Netflix y al parecer ha tenido éxito visualizacino en esa plataforma, además de que un gran sector de la crítica especializada ha coincidido en opiniones favorables. Tenía ganas de verla desde que me topé con el trailer.

Los responsables de esta historia son el guionista y creador Mark L Smith, conocido por haber participado en el guión de la película The Revenant de González Iñirratu, protagonizada por Leo DiCaprio. Su filmografía incluye varios guiones interesantes, entre ellos el remake de Twisters, que se estrenó el año pasado. Además de dirigir la miniseire Peter Berg, que tiene mucha experiencia tanto en la dirección como en la realización de thrillers e historias de acción. American Primeval follows the codes and characteristic elements of the genre in recent decades. A lonely antihero with a painful past. A woman seeking a new life after a crime and trying to protect her son. Conflict with Indian tribes displaced from their lands. Bounty hunters, criminals, scavengers, settlements with their own rules. What is striking about this western is that it shows everything in a more cruel and ruthless way.

It was a very violent time, so mercy and abuse are the characters' bread and butter. Not only do they have to watch out for common criminals, but also for Indians who are at war with the white invader. In addition, environmental conditions are another enemy. Added to all this is the inclusion of the Mormons, through the armed bands of that religious sect, at war with the federal government.

The story is very much inspired by real events, such as the infamous Mountain Meadows Massacre and the Utah War. I think Mormons will be the most upset with the miniseries, as their sect and its leader, Brigham Young, are not portrayed very well. Certainly that man was the one who took the sect to another level and created that state, but what they don't say, is that to achieve this, much blood was shed and horrors were committed by all parties involved, even by those who say they were talking to God.

Betty Gilpen and Taylor Kitsh play Sarah and Isaac, the main characters in the story, and both excel with their characters, but I was captivated by the subplot of Abish, the Mormon played by Saura Lightfoot-Leon and her husband Jacob, played by Dane DeHaan, although the latter is very lost in the final part. The showdown between Jim Bridger and Brigham Young to hold down the fort was also excellent. Kim Coates is great in the role of Young.

American Primeval sigue los códigos y elementos característicos del género en las últimas décadas. Un antihéroe solitario con un pasado doloroso. Una mujer que busca una nueva vida tras un crimen y trata de proteger a su hijo. Conflicto con tribus indias desplazadas de sus tierras. Cazarrecompensas, criminales, carroñeros, asentamientos con sus propias reglas. Lo que llama la atención de este western es que muestra todo de una forma más cruel y despiadada.

Era una época muy violenta, por lo que la piedad y el abuso son el pan de cada día para los personajes. No sólo tienen que vigilar a los delincuentes comunes, sino también a los indios que están en guerra con el invasor blanco. Además, las condiciones medioambientales son otro enemigo. A todo esto se añade la inclusión de los mormones, a través de las bandas armadas de esa secta religiosa, en guerra con el gobierno federal.

Creo que los mormones serán los más disgustados con la miniserie, ya que su secta y su líder, Brigham Young, no quedan muy bien retratados. Ciertamente ese hombre fue el que llevó la secta a otro nivel y creó ese estado, pero lo que ellos no dices, es que para lograrlo se derramó mucha sangre y se cometieron horrores por todas las partes implicadas, incluso por los que dicen que hablaban con Dios.

Synopsis: A gathering of five friends (to celebrate one of their weddings) turns into a real nightmare when they have to stay together (and stay alive) to face the underwater danger in the open waters that surrounds them.

Thriller movies that are built around scripts that use sharks as the “driving force” of their own existence are certainly already known worldwide. This movie is just one of them. However, very different from what it could have been (considering the fact that the story here presents something a little “out of the ordinary” right from its opening scenes), the story’s potential is completely wasted by an extremely limited development of its own narratives, which, in addition to being shallow, evoke a lazy writing style that causes a lot of boredom.

Cinema Sight

Five friends decide to get together at a luxury resort in the middle of a paradise island to celebrate their friendship (after some time apart) and the wedding of one of them. In the midst of all the fun, they end up doing something “out of the ordinary” and borrow a boat to go to a more distant place in order to fix some problems that are undermining their friendship. Everything starts to get out of control when a sea creature mysteriously appears. Then, they have an accident trying to escape, but they have an accident and are left adrift in the middle of open waters.

Any similarity to so many other stories of struggle for survival involving sharks as “villains” is not a mere coincidence, especially because the references here are scattered everywhere. From the setting to a range of characters that bring practically nothing new to the plot (with one exception, something specific, that tries to “feed” the script with other ideas, but that ends up being something poorly developed and “forgotten” in the middle of the narrative itself), everything here is intentionally recycled, even though it tries to give a more original vibe.

Keith & The Movies

Although the movie has a truly paradisiacal setting (the best scenes in the movie are only interesting in the middle of the island and, obviously, in the water) and has some very well-filmed scenes (mainly in wide shots and with a higher magnification), none of this manages to make the movie even remotely interesting in its essence. The only thing that this technical part manages to do is offer the viewer a truly beautiful vision of all the (supposed) hell that the script tries to create with all the tense situations that the characters should experience.

Speaking of which, the cast is made up of a team of actresses of very limited artistic quality. None of them have a positive highlight in the plot, and part of this is also due to the script itself, which does not favor a better performance on their part. Each of the characters is built on clichés that have already been seen before, as is the interaction between them. The only “different” moments fall into an insignificant sameness while the script tries to make them “evolve” throughout the plot (which obviously ends up not happening correctly).

Viaplay

The moments where the plot manages to bring a high level of tension are really few (more precisely, the conclusion of the third act - which, by the way, only lasts a few seconds - where some takes manage to convey a clear feeling of fear and apprehension), which ends up making the narrative even poorer precisely in the context where it should certainly be strongest. Nothing is well used here, not even the setting where the best scenes take place.

Visually, the movie even manages to deceive at times, but the production is poor. In charge of all this aquatic mess is Hayley Easton Street, who does a limited job of directing, and still, she fails to fully explore her best asset: the aquatic setting itself. The angles tend to be limited (perhaps to favor a “claustrophobic” atmosphere, but which ends up failing miserably due to the relatively artificial production underwater) and the framing of some scenes is very amateurish. Nothing that Street tries to do works that well, even the moments where it is clear how well-intentioned she is.

In short, I could easily say that Something in the Water is one of the least impactful shark-related “aquatic threat” movies I’ve ever had the opportunity to watch. Add to that a group of relatively boring characters (played by a laughable cast), a plot that often seems to go in circles, and a minimally questionable production level that is poorly directed by someone with no care whatsoever, and you have the “recipe” for a product that was born to fail. Perhaps, it would have worked better as just another straight-to-TV movie.

Sinopsis: El encuentro de cinco amigos (para celebrar la boda de uno de ellos) acaba convirtiéndose en una auténtica pesadilla cuando necesitan permanecer juntos (y con vida) para afrontar el peligro submarino en aguas abiertas que les rodea.

Las películas de suspenso que se construyen a través de guiones que utilizan a los tiburones como “motor” de su propia existencia ciertamente ya son conocidas a nivel mundial. Esta película es sólo una de ellas. Sin embargo, muy diferente de lo que podría haber sido (teniendo en cuenta que la historia aquí presenta algo un poco “fuera de la curva” en sus escenas iniciales), el potencial de la historia queda totalmente desperdiciado por un desarrollo extremadamente limitado de sus características propias narrativas, que además de superficiales, evocan un estilo de escritura perezoso que provoca mucho aburrimiento.

Cinco amigas deciden reunirse en un resort de lujo, en medio de una isla paradisíaca, para celebrar su amistad (después de un tiempo separados) y la boda de uno de ellos. En medio de la diversión, terminan haciendo algo “fuera de lo común”, y toman prestado un barco para ir a un lugar más lejano y solucionar algunos problemas que están minando su amistad. A pesar de que la película tiene una ambientación verdaderamente paradisíaca (las mejores escenas de la película sólo pueden ser interesantes en medio de la isla y, obviamente, en el agua) y tiene algunas escenas muy bien filmadas (principalmente en plano abierto, y con mayor aumento), nada. Esto consigue que la película sea mínimamente interesante en su esencia. Lo único que puede hacer esta parte técnica es ofrecer al espectador una visión realmente hermosa de todo el (supuesto) infierno que intenta crear el guión con todas las situaciones tensas que deberán vivir los personajes.

Por cierto, el reparto está formado por un equipo de actrices de muy limitada calidad artística. Ninguno de ellos tiene un punto positivo en la trama, y parte de ello se debe también al propio guión, que en ningún caso favorece una mejor interpretación por su parte. Cada uno de los personajes se construye sobre clichés vistos previamente, al igual que la interacción entre ellos. Los únicos momentos “diferentes” caen dentro de una insignificante similitud mientras el guion intenta hacerlos “evolucionar” a lo largo de la trama (lo que evidentemente acaba no sucediendo correctamente).

Son realmente pocos los momentos en los que la trama consigue aportar un alto nivel de tensión (más precisamente, el final del tercer acto - que, de hecho, sólo dura unos segundos - donde algunas tomas consiguen transmitir una clara sensación de miedo y aprehensión), lo que termina empobreciendo aún más la narrativa precisamente en el contexto donde ciertamente debería ser más fuerte. Aquí no se aprovecha nada, ni siquiera el escenario donde se desarrollan las mejores escenas. Visualmente, la película incluso consigue engañar a veces, pero la producción es pobre.

A cargo de todo este desastre acuático está Hayley Easton Street, quien realiza un trabajo de dirección limitado y, sin embargo, no logra explorar completamente lo mejor de sus activos: el entorno acuático en sí. Filmes de suspense que são construídos através de roteiros que usam os tubarões como “força motora” da sua própria existência certamente já são conhecidos mundialmente. Este filme é só mais um deles. No entanto, muito diferente do que poderia ter sido (considerando o fato de que a estória apresenta aqui algo um pouco “fora da curva” logo nas suas cenas iniciais), o potencial da estória é totalmente desperdiçado por um desenvolvimento extremamente limitado das suas próprias narrativas, que além de serem rasas, evocam um estilo preguiçoso de escrever que causa bastante tédio.

Apesar do filme ter um cenário realmente paradisíaco (as melhores cenas do filme só conseguem ser interessantes em meio à ilha e, obviamente, na água) e ter algumas cenas muito bem filmadas (principalmente no plano aberto, e com uma ampliação superior), nada disso consegue fazer com que o filme seja minimamente interessante na sua essência. A única coisa que essa parte técnica consegue fazer, é oferecer ao telespectador uma visão realmente bonita de todo o (suposto) inferno que o roteiro tenta criar com todas as situações de tensão que as personagens deveriam vivenciar.

Falando nelas, o elenco é composto por um time de atrizes de qualidade artística muito limitada. Nenhuma delas tem um destaque positivo na trama, e uma parte disso também se deve ao próprio roteiro, que não favorece em nada uma melhor performance por parte delas. Cada uma das personagens é construída em cima de clichês antes já vistos, assim como a interação entre elas. Os únicos momentos “diferentes” recaem dentro de uma mesmice insignificante enquanto o roteiro tenta fazer com elas “evoluam” ao longo da trama (o que obviamente acaba não acontecendo corretamente).

Os momentos onde a trama consegue trazer um nível de tensão elevado são realmente poucos (sendo mais preciso, a conclusão do terceiro ato - que aliás, só dura poucos segundos - onde alguns takes conseguem imprimir uma sensação nítida de medo e apreensão), o que acaba fazendo com que a narrativa seja ainda mais pobre justamente no contexto onde ela certamente deveria ser mais forte. Nada consegue ser bem aproveitado aqui, nem mesmo o cenário onde as melhores cenas acontecem. Visualmente o filme até consegue enganar em alguns momentos, mas a produção é pobre.

No comando de toda essa bagunça aquática está Hayley Easton Street, que faz um trabalho de direção limitado, e ainda sim, ela não consegue explorar por completo a melhor de suas cartas: o próprio cenário aquático. Os ângulos tendem a ser limitados (talvez para favorecer uma atmosfera “claustrofóbica, mas que acaba falhando miseravelmente por ter uma produção relativamente artificial em baixo da água) e o enquadramento de algumas cenas é muito amador. Nada do que a Street tenta fazer funciona tão bem, mesmo os momentos onde é nítido o quanto ela está bem intencionada.

Em poucas palavras, eu poderia facilmente dizer que Isca é um dos filmes sobre tubarões como “ameaça aquática” de menor impacto que eu já tive a oportunidade de assistir. Some isso a um grupo de personagens relativamente chatas (interpretadas por um elenco risível), uma trama que muitas vezes parece andar em círculos, e um nível de produção minimamente duvidoso que é pobremente dirigido por alguém sem o menor esmero, e está escrita a “receita” de um produto que já nasceu para ser fracassado. Talvez, funcionasse melhor sendo apenas outro filme feito direto para a TV.

It's been 3 years since I saw the first season, when it ended I regretted having to wait 3 years to continue with the story, this time passed very quickly and the only series that kept me hooked waiting for its sequel has been this one and the three-body problem, these series have in common that their stories take place in Asia.

I'm bad at remembering personal names and even more the names of fictional characters, but when I started watching the second season I was excited that it started with the end of the first, I recognized the protagonist and some main characters, confidentially three years had also passed in the time space of the squid game.

I remembered that I had done a review of the first season back then and I did a three-day marathon that was a bit crazy because I even stayed up all night watching it. This time I wanted to watch it in a calmer way, processing the lessons it has, because I do believe that it leaves great morals for reflection, but I didn't have the self-control that I thought I had. I watched the first episode one day and the next I watched the second. Both seemed a bit boring and lacking in blood, ha, ha, ha, but on the third day I watched two episodes, and I couldn't take it anymore and I had my little marathon on the fourth day when I watched the last three episodes, with stress on top of it because my mom was pressuring me to stop watching television and do chores. I think that gave the series an extra bit of tension. 😜🤣.

Soy mala para recordar nombres personales y más los nombres de personajes de ficción, pero al comenzar a mirar la segunda temporada me emocionó que inició con el final de la primera, reconocí el protagonista y algunos personajes principales, confidencialmente también habían pasado tres años en espacio temporal del juego del calamar.

Recordé que había hecho una reseña de la primera temporada en ese entonces hice un maratón de tres días algo loco porque hasta me trasnoche viéndola en esta ocasión quise verla en una forma más tranquila, procesando las enseñanzas que tiene, porque sí creo que deja grandes moralejas para la reflexión, pero no tuve el autocontrol que creía, mire el primer capítulo en un día al siguiente mire el segundo, ambos me parecieron un poco aburridos y falta de sangre je, je, je, pero ya el tercer día mire dos capítulos, y no aguante más y tuve mi pequeño maratón el cuarto día cuando mire los tres últimos capítulos, con estrés encima porque mi mamá me presionaba para que dejara de ver la televisión e hiciera los quehaceres, creo que eso le dio un plus de tensión a la serie. 😜🤣.

When this series begins, both in the first and second seasons, it is made to believe that these people who are in the game are human waste, that they are useless to society and that it is better to eliminate them or that they eliminate themselves, but as the chapters go by we can see that not all of them are like that, that there are also good people, with values ​​and nobility, only that due to bad decisions or health problems they had money problems.

This season, as I said before, begins with the life of the winner of the first season and another survivor. For both, life has changed, it is no longer the same. They are determined to find the answers and end the game system. For me, it was a kind of social criticism when people are fed up with their corrupt political systems and want a change. The first chapter does not yet begin the real game because they are just in the process of selecting people and this is done by a very handsome but psychopathic and sadistic man in a suit. This character makes a little game with homeless people, he offers them a loaf of bread or the option of playing the lottery and of course most of them preferred to go at random, destroying the bread in front of them. That scene seemed cruel to me, especially because I was hungry 🤣, but that's life, you choose which path to take.

The first chapters were a kind of refresher of the story, with a bit of humor to hook the viewer, in the third the games themselves begin and the first thing I noticed was the diversity of characters, there were music influencers, successful cryptography youtubers, fashion influencers, there were migrants, homosexuals and people who had already changed sex, old women, scamming politicians, psychics or rather evil witches, there are fans of the influencers and also those introverted and insecure people, but the ones who surprised me the most by their existence in this game were a pregnant single mother, an old woman and her son and also friends who met again within the game, that made me exclaim "oh mom!" Having blood or family ties in this game made my skin crawl, for a moment I imagined terrible things with those characters. Another surprise related to the characters is that the mercenaries are not exactly psychopaths or men as I came to think in the past, they are actually military and among them there are women.

Como espectador pensé que todos los juegos serían diferentes, pero iniciaron con el último de la primera y está bien, eso es muy bueno, recapitulando un poco para los que no sepan nada de esta serie, se trata de un juego macabro creado por una cúpula de millonarios que se divierten observando cómo las personas se matan por el premio mayor, una suma demasiado grande para no aceptar la propuesta de jugar, estas personas fueron seleccionadas y se les brindó la oportunidad de aceptar o no entrar en este juego, todos tienen algo en común sus deudas, que los ponen en una posición hasta de muerte, como la mayoría ya no tienen más nada que perder según sus pensamientos de angustia ponen en peligro su propia vida porque para ellos no tienen valor, ya que serán asesinados, presos, o torturados por dinero. También está otro grupo desesperado por conseguir dinero por condiciones de salud donde la vida está en riesgo.

Cuando inicia esta serie tanto en la primera temporada como en la segunda se hace creer que estas personas que están dentro del juego son desechos humanos, que no sirven para sociedad y es mejor eliminarlos o que se eliminen ellos mismos, pero a medida que pasan los capítulos podemos ver que no todos son asi, que también hay personas buenas, con valores y nobleza solo que por malas decisiones o de salud tuvieron problemas de dinero.

Esta temporada como dije anteriormente inicia con la vida del ganador de la primera temporada y otro sobreviviente para ambos la vida cambió, ya no es la misma, están decididos en encontrar las respuestas y acabar con el sistema del juego, para mi fue un especie de crítica social cuando las personas están hartas de sus sistemas políticos de la corrupción y quieren un cambio. El primer capítulo todavía no comienza el verdadero juego pues apenas están en la selección de las personas y esto lo hace un hombre con traje muy guapo pero psicópata y sádico. Este personaje hace un pequeño juego con personas de condición de calle, les ofrece un pan o la opción de jugar a la lotería y por supuesto la mayoría prefirió ir al azar, destruyendo el pan frente a ellos, esa escena me pareció cruel sobretodo porqué yo tenía hambre 🤣, pero asi es la vida una elige que camino tomar.

Los primeros capítulos fueron una especie de refrescamiento de la historia, con un poco de humor para enganchar al espectador, en el tercero se inician los juegos como tal y lo primero que observé fue la diversidad de personajes, habian influencer de la música, youtuber exitoso en criptografía, influencer de moda, habían migrantes, homosexuales y personas que ya habian cambiado de sexo, ancianas, políticos estafadores, videntes o más bien brujas malvadas, estan los fanáticos de los influencer y tambien aquellas personas introvertidas e inseguras, pero los que más me soprendieron por su existencia en este juego fue una mujer embarazada madre soltera, una anciana y su hijo y también amigos que se reencontraron dentro del juego, eso me hizo exclamar ¡ahi mamá! Tener lazos sanguíneos o familiares en este juego me erizo la piel, por un momento imagine cosas terribles con esos personajes. Otra sorpresa relacionada con los personajes es que los mercenarios no son precisamente psicópatas u hombres como llegué a pensar en el pasado, en realidad son militares y entre ellos hay mujeres.

Being a leader is not an easy task, you need to have qualities that stand out from the rest, firmness in decisions that sometimes make you look bad but that every leader accepts the consequences, because they seek an end regardless of the means.

About the games, the only one that is repeated is the red light and green light, the others that they present are still children's games but that are not known in my culture, the only one that I do recognize is the spinning top, if I had been inside the movie I would die in the first episode 🤣. Returning to the series, the writers did not leave anything to chance, everything has a meaning, for example this time I realized that the numbers of the participants are related to their stories and personality. The number 01 is the leader, the dark part, the root of the system, the last number, which is that of the protagonist 456, is in everyone's eyes the best human, the one who wants to change the world.

Although in this season of the series, we were able to see acts of bullying, betrayal and selfishness, there were not such bloody and ruthless deaths, or so it seemed to me if I compare it with the first season, there may be a surprise in the last one that, luckily for fans, will be broadcast soon, according to June of this year. Of all the episodes of this series, I liked the last three the most, but they are all important in the season. If you haven't seen the first one, I recommend that you start with it so you can move on to the second one. I like this series and I recommend it to you. Ya en el cuarto capítulo, lo que puedo recordar es que comenzó a ponerse más intenso, el protagonista como fue le ganador de la temporada pasado y regresó para entrar en el juego y acabar con el sistema, parte que me pareció algo ridícula decidió ser el salvador de todos diciendo cómo jugar y que hacer, es aquí donde se vió que entre los jugadores estaba el líder, y es cuando cobra sentido el refrán si quieres vencer a tu enemigo únete a él, el protagonista sin saber tenia de aliado a su peor enemigo, conociendo sus pasos y sus pensamientos.

El líder está poniendo en riesgo su vida aparentemente al estar dentro del juego pero porqué hace esto, seria más fácil eliminar a su enemigo con una simple acción, pues detrás del líder hay una historia de dolor y sufrimiento. Ser un líder no es una tarea fácil se necesita tener unas cualidades que destacan de los demás, firmeza en las decisiones que a veces te hacen parecer malo pero que todo líder las acepta las consecuencias, porque buscan un fin sin importar el medio.

Sobre los juegos el único que se repite el luz roja y luz verde, los demas que presentan siguen siendo juegos de niños pero que en mi cultura no son conocidos, el único que sí reconozco es el de trompo, si yo hubiese estado dentro de la película muero en el primer episodio 🤣. Volviendo a la serie, los escritores no dejaron nada al azar, todo tiene un sentido, por ejemplo esta vez me dí cuenta que los números de los participantes se relacionan con sus historias y personalidad. El número 01 es el líder la parte oscura la raíz del sistema el último número que es el del protagonista 456 es a los ojos de todos el mejor humano, el que quiere cambiar el mundo.

Aunque en esta temporada de la serie, pudimos ver actos de bullying, traición y egoísmo no hubo muertes tan sangrientas y despiadadas, o eso me pareció a mi si la comparó con la primera temporada, puede ser que haya una sorpresa en la última que para suerte de los fanáticos la transmitirán pronto según para el mes de junio del presente año. De todos los capítulos de esta serie me gustaron más los últimos tres, pero todos tienen importancia en la temporada, si no has visto la primera te recomiendo que inicies por ella para poder pasar a la segunda, me gusta esta serie y se las recomiendo, mírala con atención y seguro de ella algo de provecho conseguirás.

The Devil's Bathroom no es un filme de terror al uso, así que si esperas un filme lleno de sustos, no va a estar a la altura. La historia se centra en el drama interno de una joven en la Austria de 1750. Se trata de un drama histórico con estilo de Folk Horror.

Ambos cineastas también se encargaron del guión y se inspiraron en hechos reales, en varias entrevistas han relatado que se documentaron profundamente y tomaron un hecho real para desarrollar la trama. Según los registros que estudiaron, durante el siglo XVIII un gran número de mujeres acabaron condenadas a muerte tras cometer horribles crímenes, todas ellas fervientes creyentes y temerosas de Dios. ¿Por qué ocurrió esto? ¿Cuál es el trasfondo?

La salud mental, en aquella época, era algo a lo que nadie prestaba atención, y mucho menos en zonas rurales como donde transcurre la película. How can you get out of a depression when you live in an unknown village in the deepest part of Europe? When everyone in the environment is erasing beliefs inherited from their ancestors, any act or behavior that has no explanation for them, will be immediately branded as the work of the devil. The worst fear is the fear of the unknown.

The protagonist of the story is Agnes, a young woman who marries her lover Wolf. She wants to have children, to be a normal wife, who takes care of her husband. Maybe she thought she would have an idyllic life with her husband, but soon reality explodes in her face, nothing will go as she expects and everything will dent her mind, making her fall into a state of sadness and loneliness. Perhaps she does not want to continue in this world, but her faith forbids her to attempt against herself, she does not want to go to the afterlife and live in eternal hell, she wants to be forgiven, saved and there is a way to achieve it.

Witnessing what Agnes is going through, the viewer won't get any big scares, but I promise it will be an uncomfortable viewing. The filmmakers want us to feel bad as we watch her enter a labyrinth from which she seems to have no clear way out. There is nothing supernatural about this story, although some scenes may suggest it. That is why the atmosphere created by the directors in this wooded setting can convey an unsettling feeling.

Actress Anja Plaschg's performance is phenomenal. It is she who carries all the weight of the story. It is she who appears in most of the film. Agnes' portrayal of suffering, misunderstanding and frustration is award worthy. Her transformation, starting with a love that conveys innocence, goodness, and then falling into absolute madness. The fact that it is based on evidence of a true story, makes what we see on screen even sadder.

¿Cómo se puede salir de una depresión cuando se vive en un pueblo desconocido en lo más profundo de Europa? Cuando todo el mundo en el entorno está borrando creencias heredadas de sus antepasados, cualquier acto o conducta que no tenga explicación para ellos, será inmediatamente tachado de obra del diablo. El peor miedo es el miedo a lo desconocido.

La protagonista de la historia es Agnes, una joven que se casa con su amante Wolf. Quiere tener hijos, ser una esposa normal, que cuida de su marido. Tal vez pensó que tendría una vida idílica con su marido, pero pronto la realidad le estalla en la cara, nada saldrá como espera y todo hará mella en su mente, haciéndola caer en un estado de tristeza y soledad. Tal vez no quiera continuar en este mundo, pero su fe le prohíbe atentar contra sí misma, no quiere ir al más allá y vivir en el infierno eterno, quiere ser perdonada, salvada y hay una forma de conseguirlo.

Siendo testigo de lo que Agnes está viviendo, el espectador no se llevará grandes sustos, pero le prometo que será un visionado incómodo. Los cineastas quieren que nos sintamos mal mientras la vemos entrar en un laberinto del que parece no tener una salida clara. No hay nada sobrenatural en esta historia, aunque algunas escenas puedan sugerirlo. Por eso, la atmósfera creada por los directores en este entorno boscoso puede transmitir una sensación inquietante.

La interpretación de la actriz Anja Plaschg es fenomenal. Es ella quien lleva todo el peso de la historia. Es ella quien aparece en la mayor parte de la película. El retrato que hace Agnes del sufrimiento, la incomprensión y la frustración es digno de premio. Su transformación, empezando por un amor que transmite inocencia, bondad, para luego caer en la locura absoluta. El hecho de que esté basada en pruebas de una historia real, hace que lo que vemos en pantalla sea aún más triste.

En el día de hoy vengo a decirles que no sabía que mirar y no encontré nada que me llamara la atención, casi veo una película sobre canibalismo y en los primeros 5 minutos la saque porque me pareció que iba a ser muy mala por cómo se estaban dando los hecho, y eso que a mí me encanta rescatar lo bueno de cada cosa que veo. Bueno, la cuestión es que me acordé que hace unos meses vi la película de Maravilloso desastre y me había parecido entretenida dentro de todo y recordé que está la segunda parte, así que me puse a ver esa. Por lo que hoy les traigo la reseña de Un desastre es para siempre.

So today I bring you the review of Beautiful Wedding.

Trama - Plot

Esta segunda parte sigue los acontecimientos de la primera, Abby y Travis le deben dinero a un mafioso y se encuentran en las Vegas viviendo la vida, hasta que en una de esas noches que son para el olvido terminan tan borrachos que se casan. Ahora deben salir de ahí a escondidas para huir del mafioso y deciden ir a Gatito, en México, para aprovechar y celebrar su luna de miel. Pero allí todo sale mal y Abby descubre que no sabe nada sobre Travis ya que apenas se conocen. Así que tendrán que aprender a lidiar con los problemas que se les presenten o será el fin de su relación. 

This second part follows the events of the first one, Abby and Travis owe money to a mobster and find themselves in Vegas living the life, until one of those nights to forget they end up so drunk that they get married. Now they must sneak out of there to get away from the mobster and decide to go to Gatito, Mexico, to take advantage and celebrate their honeymoon. But there everything goes wrong and Abby discovers that she doesn't know anything about Travis since they barely know each other. So they will have to learn to deal with the problems that come their way or it will be the end of their relationship.

Así de loca como se ve la trama es la película, la primera me había entretenido a pesar de ser muy ridícula, esta me dio bastante vergüenza ajena. Es tan mala que da risa, es la primera vez que me pasa que cuestiono algo que veo. De verdad, me morí de risa, lo tengo que admitir, pero es demasiado ridícula. Tanto que igual se las recomiendo para pasar un rato divertido.

As crazy as the plot is, the first one had entertained me despite being very ridiculous, this one made me feel quite embarrassed. It's so bad it's laughable, it's the first time I've ever questioned anything I've seen. I really laughed my ass off, I have to admit, but it's too ridiculous. So much so that I still recommend it to have a good time.

Siento que esta segunda parte está mucho más alejada del libro que la primera y eso que hace tiempo que deje de ser fundamentalista de que las adaptaciones de los libros deben ser fieles. Esta le pasa de lejos, pero bueno, tiene sus momentos. Siento que la esencia de los personajes está, pero es tan ridícula que da vergüenza jajajaja. Espero que se entienda lo que quiero decir y lo siento si estoy siendo reiterativa.

I feel that this second part is much more distant from the book than the first one, and I stopped being a fundamentalist a long time ago that book adaptations should be faithful. This one passes it by far, but well, it has its moments. I feel that the essence of the characters is there, but it's so ridiculous that it's embarrassing hahahaha. Igual, como les decía, las risas no faltaron y a veces está bueno tener un poco de diversión para aligerar las tensiones. Además, tiene sus partes buenas, me gustó que hayan incorporada el idioma español, ya que es muy común ver que no se respeta tanto esto en peliculas estadounidenses, como si todos se tuvieran que amoldar al ingles siendo que están en un país Latinoamericano, así que me gustó que hablaran español en varios momentos. Es por esto que considero que puede ser una buena opción para cuando no saben que mirar y quieren pasar el rato, aunque sí preguntan yo no se las recomendé (? En fin, sin dudas, esta dupla de actores logró lucirse al menos. Me agradaron mucho sus papeles y cómo llevaron a los personajes. 

Anyway, as I was saying, there were plenty of laughs and sometimes it's good to have a little fun to lighten tensions. It also has its good parts, I liked that they have incorporated the Spanish language, as it is very common to see that this is not so much respected in American movies, as if everyone had to adapt to English being that they are in a Latin American country, so I liked that they spoke Spanish at various times. That's why I think it can be a good option for when you don't know what to watch and want to pass the time, although if you ask I didn't recommend it (?) Anyway, without a doubt, this duo of actors managed to shine at least. I really liked their roles and how they carried their characters.

Synopsis: After a plane crash, the life of a small town (and all its residents) is turned upside down after a biological weapon is released, causing an epidemic that turns the infected people into uncontrolled zombies.

One of the most used excuses as narrative arguments to create a movie script is the old and well-known “biological weapon” that is always released by chance due to some kind of accident. Over the decades, screenwriters have been taking advantage of this “loophole” to create the most different types of “branches” in the horror, suspense and science fiction genres (in general, with these three genres associated to intensify a more “daring” approach) in an attempt to show versatility, but this movie is yet another failed example of this goal.

The New York Times

Although it is not a total waste, this project has a great start (the atmosphere starts out relatively tense and full of mystery, but it doesn't take long for it to reach its "peak" and start going in circles until it turns into something very different). However, as it develops, the plot starts to lose itself, giving way to yet another "action" movie with suspiciously behaving creatures thirsty for blood (something that, by the way, is justified in the script in a very lazy way and quite limited in narrative resources on all sides).

At the center of the plot is the couple David and Judy. He is a sheriff. She is a doctor. Both are recognized as "models" in the city for being references in their respective roles, but neither of them was prepared for what was to come. As they become involved in the mystery that is changing the physical appearance and also the behavior of the infected residents of the city, they also need to deal with the consequences of this within their own relationship (and here the script tries to add dramatic touches, but without success).

Smoking Barrels

What could have been a movie full of tension and suspense ends up becoming a project that doesn't recognize its essence. The beginning of the plot positions everything within a well-defined line, but strange decisions make things change until the project becomes “unrecognizable”. Even with a very superficial explanation, all the events end up being even more superficial due to the disjointed developments of the plot. Especially after there is a military intervention to try to “contain” the pandemic that is “ravaging” that small town.

In general terms, I think the plot can be divided into two very precise moments: before and after the city is besieged by the armed forces. Before, the script visibly tries to present an atmosphere of fear, insecurity, and lack of perspective in the face of an unusual problem. Afterwards, the script visibly starts to want to be bigger than it really can be (because after the city is besieged, the atmosphere of the city becomes too anarchic... this being the main reason for practically all the “distortion” in the narrative). The breach of expectation becomes a problem.

The Horror Club

Full of clichés of the genre (from the scenarios that inspire something “apocalyptic” to the characters with intentionally questionable attitudes), the script does not shy away from delivering something basic to the viewer (even though it tries to “flirt” with something more complex when it tries to increase the magnifying glass of its scope), but at the same time, it also does not shy away from betting on some good suspense scenes (this being one of its very few positive points). The impacts of these scenes are interesting, but they are only momentary because they do not have much weight in the whole concept.

In the cast, names like Timothy Olyphant and Radha Mitchell lead the group. No one delivers a top-notch performance, but while some alternate between average and bad, Olyphant and Mitchell manage to stand out for their respective constructions of their own characters (which are still quite limited). Technically, the project is simple (but even though it is contained, it is interesting in this aspect because I was able to explore what is available well), containing a few scenes of greater “amplitude” (like the outcome of the third act, which is something a little beyond what was expected).

Consequence

The Crazies has an attractive essence, but director Breck Eisner fails to appropriate this idea, and creates something with a very basic depth (with some very painful moments, by the way). Alternating between “zombies” that seem to have a certain level of “intelligence”, while others are completely stunned in the search for bloody violence, the project’s arguments become very fragile even due to its own limited explanations. In the final seconds, there is even an assertive plot twist, but this can't save the entire movie from its limitations.

A lo largo de las décadas, los guionistas han aprovechado este “vacío legal” para crear los más diversos tipos de “ramas” en los géneros de terror, suspenso y ciencia ficción (en general, asociando estos tres géneros para intensificar una visión más “atrevida”) en un intento de mostrar versatilidad, pero esta película es otro ejemplo defectuoso de ese objetivo.

Aunque no es un despilfarro total, este proyecto tiene un gran comienzo (la atmósfera comienza relativamente tensa y llena de misterio, pero no tarda en llegar a su “pico” y empezar a dar vueltas hasta transformarse en algo muy diferente). Sin embargo, a lo largo de su desarrollo, la trama se pierde, dando paso a otra película más de “acción” con criaturas sedientas de sangre de comportamiento sospechoso (algo que, dicho sea de paso, se justifica en el guion de forma muy vaga y bastante limitada en recursos narrativos en general). lados).

Antes, el guion se esfuerza visiblemente en presentar un clima de miedo, inseguridad y falta de perspectiva ante un problema insólito. Los impactos de estas escenas son interesantes, pero son sólo momentáneos porque no tienen mucho peso en todo el concepto.

En el reparto, nombres como Timothy Olyphant y Radha Mitchell lideran el grupo. Ninguno ofrece una actuación de alto nivel, pero mientras algunos alternan entre la media y la mala, Olyphant y Mitchell consiguen destacar gracias a las respectivas construcciones de sus propios personajes (que todavía son muy limitadas). Uma das desculpas mais utilizadas como argumentos narrativos para criar um roteiro cinematográfico é a velha e muito conhecida “arma biológica” que sempre é liberada ao acaso por causa de algum tipo de acidente qualquer. Ao longo de décadas, os roteiristas vêm se aproveitando dessa “brecha” para criar os mais diferentes tipos de “ramificações” no gênero do terror, do suspense e da ficção científica (em geral, com esses três gêneros associados para intensificar uma abordagem mais “ousada”) na tentativa de mostrar versatilidade, mas este filme é mais um exemplo falho dessa meta.

Embora não seja um desperdício total, esse projeto tem um ótimo início (o clima começa relativamente tenso e cheio de mistério, mas não demora muito para alcançar o seu “ápice” e começar a andar em círculos até se transformar em algo muito diferente). No entanto, ao longo do seu desenvolvimento, a trama vai se perdendo dela mesma, dando espaço a mais um filme de “ação” com criaturas de comportamentos suspeitos sedentas por sangue (algo que aliás, é justificado no roteiro de uma maneira muito preguiçosa e bastante limitada em recursos narrativos por todos os lados).
