Saint Seiya AMV / Reasons to fight

Good morning to all the anime lovers in the @theanimerealm community! When I heard this song (Defences - Might And Main) inspired me to create an AMV. The reason is the song’s lyrics, “since they fit a narrative of believing in a god, being faithful, and following his words, but one day you open your eyes and see that he isn’t a good deity; they try to bring you down by belittling you, but you resist and rise up to stay on your feet. Now you question your own deity, shake off the noise in your head, and keep fighting against the system of your cult, which is now false.

Buenos días a todos los amantes del anime de la comunidad @theanimerealm, pues al oir este tema musical(Defences - Might And Main) me inspire para elaborar un AMV, el motivo es el contenido de la letra "ya que encaja con una narrativa de creer en un dios, ser fiel y seguir sus palabras, pero un dia abres los ojos y vez que no es una deidad buena, te tratan de abatir menospreciándote, pero te resistes y te levantas para mantenerte en pie. Cuestionas ahora a tu propia deidad, sacudes el ruido en tu cabeza y sigues luchando contra el sistema de tu culto que ahora es falso.

In this story, I began with Athena being attacked by Saga; she is sent to another dimension, and during her journey she can see the different variations of the cosmos’ realities, with the Knights fighting battles in parallel dimensions.

Until finally, after she assimilates all the realities and gets lost in the infinite void of the technique from Saga of Gemini’s other dimension, the Knight of Pisces rescues her and takes her back to the beginning of her own reality, where Saga has just arrived in the room to attack her, creating a loop of events.

This is the narrative explained in the video; if I don’t describe it, it’s likely that anyone watching the video clip won’t understand that there’s a deeper meaning, but anyway, it doesn’t hurt to clarify my perspective on what happened in the video.

Para esta historia empecé con una Athena que es atacada por Saga, ella es mandada a otra dimension y en su travesía ella puede ver las diferentes variantes de las realidades del cosmos con los caballeros teniendo batallas en dimensiones paralelas.

Hasta que al final, luego de ella asimilar todas las realidades y perderse en el infinito vacio de la tecnica de la otra dimension de Saga de Gemenis, el caballero de Piscis la rescata y la lleva al inicio de su propia realidad, donde precisamente saga acaba de llegar a la habitación para atacarla, creando un bucle de un acontecimiento.

Esta es la Narrativa explicada del video, puede que si no la describo lo mas provable es que quien vea el video clip no entienda que hay un trasfondo, pero bueno, no esta demas aclarar mi enfoque para describir lo ocurrido en el video.

Pues la realidad es que son series de television de la misma franquicia de saint seiya, que aunque no necesariamente son una aventura lineal con la historia que has visto de la serie clásica, si son reales, ósea no es hecha por fans, así que en contexto son spin off de la misma serie.

Released in 1967 and directed by Arthur Penn, Bonnie and Clyde arrived during a major shift in American cinema. Older Hollywood styles were fading, audiences were changing, and movies were becoming more daring and realistic. This film helped push that transition forward in a huge way. At the time, it shocked audiences with its violence, tone, and antihero characters.

Warren Beatty stars as Clyde Barrow, the charming but reckless outlaw who dreams of escaping poverty and becoming famous through crime. Beatty gives Clyde confidence and charisma while also showing the insecurity underneath the bravado. He is not portrayed as some unstoppable criminal mastermind. He is flawed, impulsive, and often in over his head.

Faye Dunaway plays Bonnie Parker, and honestly the movie does not work without her performance. Dunaway gives Bonnie intelligence, frustration, and excitement all at once. Bonnie is tired of ordinary life and sees Clyde as an escape from boredom and limitation, even if that escape leads somewhere dangerous.

The chemistry between Beatty and Dunaway carries the entire film. They make Bonnie and Clyde feel romantic and exciting while also showing the cracks underneath the fantasy. That balance is important because the movie constantly shifts between glamour and harsh reality.

The plot follows Bonnie and Clyde as they travel across Depression era America robbing banks, gathering a gang around them, and slowly becoming media sensations. At first, the crimes almost feel playful and reckless, but as the story continues, the violence and consequences become much darker.

Gene Hackman is excellent as Clyde’s brother Buck Barrow, bringing humor and unpredictability to the gang dynamic. Estelle Parsons also gives a memorable performance as Buck’s wife Blanche, whose panic and emotional breakdowns add tension and realism to the story.

Arthur Penn directs the film with a style that was groundbreaking for its time. The movie mixes comedy, romance, violence, and drama in ways Hollywood rarely attempted before. One moment feels light and funny, and the next becomes brutally intense. That unpredictability gives the film its unique energy.

Visually, the movie still stands out because of its combination of classic Hollywood framing and more modern editing techniques. The final ambush scene especially became legendary because of how raw and violent it felt compared to earlier studio films.

That ending changed cinema in many ways. The sudden explosion of violence shocked audiences in 1967, but it also forced Hollywood to move away from sanitized portrayals of crime and death. You can see the influence of Bonnie and Clyde in countless crime movies that followed.

Now yes, some parts of the movie definitely feel a little corny today. Certain romantic moments and bits of dialogue have that very sixties dramatic style that can feel exaggerated compared to modern films. But honestly, I think that stylization is part of the movie’s identity.

The film almost feels like a myth being told rather than strict historical realism. Bonnie and Clyde become symbols of rebellion, freedom, and self destruction all at once. That larger than life feeling gives the movie its lasting appeal.

What also makes the film special is how it critiques celebrity culture long before social media existed. Bonnie and Clyde become famous because of crime, attention, and public fascination. The movie understands how quickly society can turn criminals into legends.

The Great Depression setting also matters because it explains why some ordinary people saw the gang as folk heroes. Banks were widely hated during that era, and the film captures that frustration without pretending Bonnie and Clyde were purely heroic figures.

Over time, Bonnie and Clyde became recognized as one of the defining films of the New Hollywood era because it helped open the door for more creative, risky filmmaking in the late sixties and seventies. Without this movie, a lot of later classics probably do not happen the same way.

In the end, Bonnie and Clyde remains a classic to me because it is stylish, emotional, funny, tragic, and deeply influential all at once. Even with a little corniness around the edges, the movie still feels alive in a way many modern crime films do not.

It is not just a story about outlaws robbing banks. It is about fame, rebellion, desperation, and the dangerous line between romance and destruction. That is why it still holds up nearly sixty years later.

Plot

The film opens with a view of the vastness of space and a completely abandoned spaceship; we then see that ship being intercepted by another reconnaissance vessel. Upon opening it and entering, the crew realizes that the abandoned ship contains a single living person inside, in hypersleep. The crew member’s name is Ellen Ripley, and she is the sole survivor of the destruction of the Nostromo. Back on Earth, Ellen suddenly awakens from her long slumber while being visited by a man in a suit named Carter Burke, who claims to be a representative of the Weyland-Yutani Corporation and tells her that she spent 57 years in hypersleep while drifting through space.

I don’t think there’s a better way to kick off this new “Cult Directors” special dedicated to the great James Cameron than with one of the best sequels ever made in the history of cinema. At a time when our director was just beginning to gain popularity thanks to his work on The Terminator (1984), Cameron was hired to direct the second installment of another future sci-fi film saga that would revolutionize the genre forever: Aliens. While he didn’t have much experience directing sequels, it must be admitted that on this occasion, Cameron achieved something incredible.

Now, while we wouldn’t see a flawless audiovisual masterpiece like the one Ridley Scott delivered in the first installment, what James Cameron did achieve this time was to transform the already well-known space horror story of the moment into a non-stop drama and action-packed tale. So much so that, honestly, I have to admit that I grew up watching and remembering this second film more than the first, classic installment. But that’s not to say it’s better than the previous one—far from it—but rather because it features incredible action scenes that have aged quite well.

Creo que no hay mejor manera de empezar este nuevo especial de “Directores de Culto” dedicado al gran James Cameron que con una de sus mejores secuelas jamás antes creadas en la historia del cine. En una época en la que nuestro director apenas se estaba haciendo popular gracias al trabajo que realizó con The Terminator (1984), Cameron fue contratado para dirigir la segunda entrega de otra futura saga de películas de ciencia ficción que logró revolucionar el género para siempre: Aliens. Si bien no tenía mucha experiencia dirigiendo secuelas, hay que admitir que en esta ocasión Cameron ha conseguido algo increíble.

Ahora, si bien no veríamos un trabajo audiovisual super impecable como el que realizó Ridley Scott en la primera entrega; lo que sí logró James Cameron en esta ocasión es convertir la ya conocida historia de terror espacial del momento en una historia de drama y acción sin parar. Tanto es así que, honestamente, les debo admitir que crecí viendo y recordando más esta segunda película que su primera y clásica entrega. Pero no es por decir que sea mejor que la anterior, ni muchísimo menos, sino porque posee escenas de acción increíbles que han conseguido envejecer bastante bien.

I don't mean to disparage James Cameron's work, but it's hard to imagine this sequel surpassing its predecessor, especially given everything Ridley Scott achieved back then with its production and direction. However, what we can applaud Cameron for here is his ingenuity in transforming a space horror story into the familiar action-science fiction tale he previously demonstrated with The Terminator. I don’t think I need to repeat that he co-wrote the screenplay, as his influence is clearly evident throughout the film.

We just need to recap a bit how it begins, with the rescue of Ellen Ripley and the shocking news that she has been lost in space for 57 years. Her only relative is no longer alive, and the only thing keeping her sane is her traumatic experience on the Nostromo with “The Alien” that wiped out the entire crew. However, in an interview she has with some important representatives of this futuristic world, no one believes the fantastic story she tells them, and they treat her like a madwoman who has caused millions in losses to the company with the destruction of her ship.

No es por desprestigiar el trabajo de James Cameron, pero es difícil que esta segunda entrega supere a su antecesora y más con todo lo que ha conseguido Ridley Scott en su momento con la producción y dirección de la misma. Sin embargo, lo qué si se le puede aplaudir a Cameron aquí es su ingenio al momento de convertir una historia de terror espacial en la ya conocida historia de acción y ciencia ficción que nos ha demostrado anteriormente con The Terminator. Creo que no hace falta repetir que participó en la escritura de dicha historia ya que se puede apreciar muy bien a lo largo de esta película.

Solo hay que recapitular un poco cómo inicia, con el rescate de Ellen Ripley y la noticia impactante de que ha estado perdida durante 57 años en el espacio. Su única familiar ya no se encuentra con vida y lo único que la mantiene cuerda es su traumática experiencia en la Nostromo con “El Pasajero Desconocido” que aniquiló a toda su tripulación. Sin embargo, en una entrevista que tiene con algunos representantes importantes de este mundo futurista, nadie le cree la fantástica historia que les cuenta y la tratan como una loca que ha causado pérdidas millonarias a la compañía con la destrucción de su nave.

I would let all this slide if it weren't for the shocking news that the planet Ripley and her crew visited back then is now home to a colony of more than 150 inhabitants. Then, the company receives a distress signal from that colony, with which they subsequently lose contact, and Ripley—who had already foreseen this—is visited again by the Weyland-Yutani representative, who asks her to go with a group of colonizing marines who promise to protect her along the way. However, I can guarantee you right now that this team of so-called experts is not prepared for what’s coming.

The plot of this film starts off very well, seamlessly connecting with the ending of the previous film, while also hooking the viewer with a somewhat predictable plot twist involving the characters. As the sole survivor of what she admits was an intergalactic massacre, Ellen Ripley becomes the sole person held responsible for the disasters caused by the loss of the Nostromo in the first installment. The company, completely skeptical—just like the rest of the world’s major organizations—dismisses her story as fabrications meant to cover up her actions.

Todo esto lo dejaría pasar si no fuera por la impactante noticia de que el planeta que llegaron a visitar esa vez Ripley con su tripulación está ahora habitada por una colonia de más de 150 habitantes. Luego, la compañía recibe un mensaje de auxilio de dicha colonia con la cual posteriormente pierden contacto y Ripley, quien ya preveía esto, es visitada de nuevo por el representante de Weyland-Yutani para pedirle que vaya con un grupo de marinos colonizadores que aseguran la protegerán en el camino. But the next thing really bothered me a bit, and that is the fact that, without any prior investigation or reconnaissance of the location, they send an entire colony of over a hundred people to the very same planet where the creature that wiped out Ripley’s crew originated. Now, Carter Burke asks Ellen to accompany him to that planet as an “advisor,” which she initially refuses, but her financial situation and mental state force her to agree as a sort of redemption or whatever. Honestly, I don’t know why she would agree, knowing that the place is swarming with those monsters.

But anyway, another thing that catches my attention in this movie is the way they introduce us to the entire squad of marines who will accompany Ripley and Burke to the colonized planet with which they lost contact. Let’s just say that each character manages to stand out in one way or another, but in the end, they end up being nothing more than the typical supporting characters in any action-thriller movie who always meet a grim end. Without giving too many spoilers to the uninformed folks who haven’t seen this movie yet, I’ll just say that what follows after they arrive on the planet is a nonstop barrage of action, deaths, and other shocking scenes.

Pero lo siguiente ya es algo que me molestó un poco y es el hecho de que, sin ninguna investigación ni reconocimiento previo del lugar, envían a toda una colonia de más de cien personas al mismo planeta de donde se originó la criatura que exterminó a la tripulación de Ripley. Ahora, Carter Burke le pide a Ellen que la acompañe a dicho planeta como “consejera”, cosa que ella niega al principio, pero su situación económica y estado mental la obligan a acceder como una especie de redención o qué sé yo. Sinceramente no sé por qué accedería al saber que dicho lugar está plagado de esos monstruos.

Pero bueno, otra cosa que me llama la atención de esta película es la manera en la que nos prestan a toda la tropa de marines que acompañarán a Ripley y Burke al planeta colonizado con el cual perdieron contacto. Digamos que cada personaje logra destacarse de alguna forma u otra, pero al final no terminan siendo más que los típicos personajes secundarios de toda película de acción y suspenso que siempre terminan mal. Sin darles tantos spoilers a la gente sin cultura que no ha visto aún esta película, solo les diré que lo que sigue después de llegar al planeta es un sinfín de acción, muertes y demás escenas impactantes.

One thing that became clear to us after watching The Terminator is that James Cameron has an innate talent for blending science fiction with action in a truly creative and impressive way. This time around, he really outdoes himself by showing us a group of space marines fighting and struggling to survive on a colonized planet, with hundreds of Xenomorphs constantly hunting them down. The way the entire plot shifts from what was supposed to be a rescue mission to a mission of survival in space. Obviously, the entire movie isn’t filled with action scenes, gunfire, explosions, and chases.

It has many moments of apparent calm, suspense, drama, and some humor that really set the tone for the plot. Another thing worth noting is that most of the film takes place on the planet where the Xenomorphs we see originated, rather than in space as in the previous film. This shifts the bleak atmosphere of that film somewhat; instead, here we’re shown a much larger space where everything unfolds, as if across different levels of an action, exploration, and survival video game. This is how Cameron shed the space-based horror that defined the original story.

Algo que sí nos dejó claro al ver The Terminator es que James Cameron tiene un talento innato de mezclar la ciencia ficción con la acción de una manera bastante creativa e impresionante. En esta ocasión se quita el sombrero al mostrarnos a un grupo de militares espaciales luchando y sobreviviendo en un planeta colonizado con centenares de Xenomorfos cazandolos constantemente. La manera en la que toda la trama pasa de ser una supuesta misión de rescate a una misión de supervivencia espacial. Obviamente, no toda la película está repleta de escenas de acción, disparos, explosiones y persecuciones.

Tiene muchos momentos de aparente calma, suspenso, drama y algo de humor que consigue ambientar muy bien la trama. Otra cosa a destacar es que la mayor parte de la película ocurre en el planeta donde se originaron los Xenomorfos que vemos y no en el espacio como ocurrió en la película anterior. Esto cambia un poco el ambiente desolador que transmitía dicha cinta; en cambio, aquí nos muestra un espacio no tan reducido donde ocurre todo como si fueran distintos niveles de un videojuego de acción, exploración y supervivencia. Así es como Cameron se deshizo del terror espacial que tenía la historia principal.

Another thing I’d like to highlight about this sequel—which manages to set itself apart quite a bit from its predecessor—is the sheer number of Xenomorphs we see from start (after the first half-hour of the film) to finish. You could even say there’s a specific type of Xenomorph that appears at the end and effectively serves as the classic “final boss.” But I won’t say any more about that so as not to give away too many spoilers; I’ll just mention that the number of Xenomorphs you’ll see will be quite substantial. And well, since this is now an action and science fiction film, this is to be expected.

While the shift from horror to action can feel a bit abrupt, I admit that the film manages to be just as entertaining and fascinating. Plus, James Cameron manages to maintain the essence and intensity of the Xenomorphs in each of their appearances. At least in the audiovisual aspect, it stands out quite well, turning the Xenomorph into a dangerous creature that’s hard to detect and defeat. Unlike the previous film, where it was barely seen on the occasional occasion, in this second installment, the creature does have a much stronger presence in many more scenes.

Otra cosa que me gustaría destacar de esta secuela que consigue diferenciarse bastante de su antecesora es la cantidad enorme de Xenomorfos que vemos de principio (después de la media hora de película) a fin. Incluso se puede decir que hay hasta una variedad de Xenomorfo que aparece al final y que logra cumplir como el típico papel de “last boss”. Pero de eso no les diré más para no darles tantos spoilers, solo les menciono la cantidad de Xenomorfos que verán será bastante. Y bueno, al tratarse ahora de una cinta de acción y ciencia ficción es de esperarse esto.

Para esto les hablo de una vez sobre el apartado audiovisual de esta película, donde considero que James Cameron consigue destacarse muy bien. Sobre todo al momento de usar efectos visuales prácticos, sobre todo por la época en la que se produjo y que logró envejecer bastante bien. Especialmente lo digo por el diseño visual del Xenomorfo, el cual se mantiene igual a la cinta anterior, pero se puede apreciar más debido a su mayor aparición y todo en las más de dos horas de duración que tiene esta película. De resto, tanto la fotografía como la paleta de colores fríos y oscuros están muy bien.

Detalles como la visión del espacio o el planeta donde ocurren las cosas se ve un tanto superficial, algo como hecho con maquetas o superpuesto, igualmente logra envejecer muy bien. El tema de las luces y las sombras ocurre igual mayormente, pero consigue mantener bien estable el equilibrio en la mayor parte de toda la película. Sobre todo en las escenas de acción donde las explosiones y demás cosas que ocurren alrededor iluminan muy bien cada escenario. El tema crudo, un tanto gráfico, y el maquillaje que tiene la película también quedan muy bien. Los efectos de sonido también se destacan, al igual que la banda sonora. En fin, les dejo una de las mejores secuelas que existen.

Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 9/10 en lo que respecta al género de la ciencia ficción, acción y suspenso.

Some time ago I used this technique and wanted to revisit it with this Sailor Moon drawing. This technique isn't easy to master, but if we put our minds to it and practice, we can achieve great results. It's called a hybrid collage and drawing technique, and it involves drawing the other half of a photograph or image, either digitally or with a pencil.

I used to do it with a graphite pencil, and now I'm using it in my Paint 3D program, which I find very practical because it has the range of colors I need when adding color to my drawings. So, I took this image of Sailor Moon and started drawing the other half with my digital pen and graphics tablet.

When I was finishing the coloring, I noticed some details that I then refined until I achieved the result I'm showing you and sharing so you'll be inspired to try it yourselves.

Yo lo hacía en ocasiones con un lápiz de grafito y ahora la estoy aplicando en mi programa de Paint 3D, que me resulta muy práctico porque tiene la gama de colores que necesito al momento de ponerle color a mis dibujos. Así que tomé esta imagen de Sailor Moon y comencé a dibujar su otra mitad con mi lápiz digital y mi tableta gráfica.

Cuando ya estaba terminando de colorear, me fijé en algunos detalles que luego fui mejorando hasta obtener el resultado que les muestro y comparto para que se animen a realizarlos ustedes también.

Well, The Boys series has ended, but not its universe; they'll keep releasing spin-offs, of that we can be sure. The series was a success, although its finale seems to have received a barrage of criticism. As is often the case with many productions, endings and definitive conclusions of a story generate debate, and many didn't like it.

I think the ending adapted well to the comic's conclusion. That is, important things happened, like the death of the main villain and, of course, the death of the protagonist who, in the comic, loses his mind and wants to destroy everyone. Perhaps that madness is more readily perceived in the comic, and in the series it didn't quite move me.

I don't think the problem is the ending itself. It's that the series felt somewhat exhausted since the previous season. In my case, I no longer watched it with as much enthusiasm, and what once seemed innovative didn't seem the same to me now. The jokes and the sexual or scatological humor no longer amused me as much. Perhaps that's one of the problems with the series in general, but there's another issue that, for me, is what ultimately became tedious.

I think it was around the third season when the show's creators, infected by their anti-Trump obsession, turned the program into a form of anti-Trump propaganda. The similarities between Homelander and their view of Trump were already too obvious. And this isn't unique to this series; for example, the new Daredevil series also uses current political events in the United States to create an anti-Trump pamphlet.

Okay, as a series creator, you can have your left-leaning political ideologies, but if you completely distort a character like Homelander, turning him into a reflection of how you want your country's citizens to perceive their president, you completely affect the story and you're going to make mistakes, which, in my opinion, is what happened and why so many people are bothered by the ending. I mean, it's not a bad ending, it's how they deceived us and what they changed for their propaganda.

Anyway, this won't stop them from continuing to exploit The Boys universe. I don't know if the Generation V spin-off will get a third season. I watched the second season out of inertia; it's another series that started well, but its impactful scenes lost their impact. By the way, these guys appear in this season of The Boys, but they don't contribute anything. Why on earth do they include these spin-off characters if what they do isn't important?

Sage's ending also seemed incredibly pathetic to me. She goes from being the smartest person in the world—though I found it hard to believe, I couldn't stand that character—to the dumbest one. Is she in her bunker picking her nose? I don't know, and I don't care. A character who shouldn't have existed in the series.

I finished the series and felt nothing. It left me quite indifferent. It wasn't like with other series that leave me with a hangover or even a bad taste in my mouth when they end. Anyway, as I said, the universe will continue; they've already released a trailer for a spin-off set in the past, like a prequel, when Soldier Boy was the toughest. I'll watch it to pass the time, but if they also turn it into anti-Trump propaganda, they're going to completely ruin it.

En fin, como ya dije, el universo continuará; ya lanzaron un tráiler de un spin-off ambientado en el pasado, como una precuela, cuando Soldier Boy era el más rudo. Lo veré para pasar el rato, pero si además lo convierten en propaganda anti-Trump, lo van a arruinar por completo.

Probablemente si eres latinoaméricano llegaste a ver esta telenovela cololmbiana, apareció por allá a finales de los años 90 y se convirtió en tendencia, todo el mundo hablaba de eso, vendían ropa y todo tipo de merchandise, pero más allá de todo eso no podemos pasar por alto que Las Juanas resaltó la idenidad de la muejer colombiana y su cultura ante el mundo.

One of the most appealing things about this telenovela is that it broke the mold of its time, something Brazilians and Colombians were always experts at. Back then, they created irreverent, unconventional characters. The Juanas were truly empowered women. Growing up without a father figure, they learned to be independent and stand up for themselves. They didn't wait for others to solve their problems; they provided the solutions themselves. And another thing I really liked, and still like now that I'm watching it again, is that the protagonists are very different from each other, yet they maintain a perfect dynamic of protection and camaraderie—it's truly impressive.

Una de las cosas más atractivas de esta telenovela es que rompió paradigmas de su época, y en esto siempre eran expertos los brasiñelos y los colombianos, en esa época ellos hacían personajes irreverentes, distintos. Las Juanas eran mujeres verdaderamente empoderadas, al crcer sin una figura paterna aprendieron a ser independientes y a defenderse a si mismas, no esperaban a que resolvieran sus problemas, sino que llas mismas aportaban soluciones. Y otra cosa que me gustaba mucho, y me sigue gustando, ya que estoy viéndola nuevamente, es que las protagonistas son muy diferentes entre sí, pero aún así mantienen una dinámica perfecta de protección y camaradería entre ellas impresionante.

Otra cosa digna de mencionar es que todo aquel buen lector de Gabriel Garcia M'arquez reconocerá el profundo arraigo que tiene la telenovela en el realismo mágico, de hecho la narrativa recuerda muchísimo el estilo de García Márquez, coonocido como uno de los más grandes exponentes latinoamericanos de este género. Se nota en los diálogos de los personajes, la mención de las supersticiones, los hechos fantásticos que aparecen dentro de la cotidianidad, y esa es precisamente la magia que hace aún mas atractiva esta joya, la vuelve fantástica a ratos, pero manteniendo la realidad de un pueblo costero colombiano; sus luchas diarias, sus costumbres, sus vivencias, en fin.

Hello everyone. I hope you are all well. Today I am going to share my feelings and experiences about the twelfth episode of the first season of the Star Trek: Discovery series, “Vaulting Ambition”. I was really surprised while watching this episode, because the whole story progressed in a way where one mystery after another was revealed and at the last moment a truth came to light that made us think about the events of the entire season in a new way.

At the beginning of this episode, we see Michael Burnham and Captain Lorca sailing towards Empress Georgiou’s huge warship. Burnham still had a kind of hesitation on his face. Because he knows that the Georgiou he is going to stand in front of is not the Starfleet Captain Georgiou he knows, but a completely different cruel ruler. This mental stress seemed very real to me.

Michael Burnham’s character was extraordinary in this episode. Throughout the episode, he tried to control his emotions and manage the situation. On the one hand, he had to manage both sides, his own safety on the one hand, and the responsibility of getting the Discovery crew home on the other. Burnham's performance and her dialogues seemed to me to be one of the strongest parts of the episode.

The atmosphere of the episode became even heavier after seeing Empress Philippa Georgiou. Seeing Giorgio from the Mirror Universe made me think how much power can change a person's character. Although he is cruel, his weakness towards Burnham was sometimes visible. Michelle Yeoh's performance was truly extraordinary. The scenes became more vivid when his presence was on screen.

Captain Gabriel Lorca is the most mysterious character in this episode. From the beginning to the end, there was a kind of unease surrounding him. He always seemed to know more than the others. In many scenes, it seemed that he was hiding some big plan. When Burnham began to understand the truth towards the end, I was also surprised. The character we had been seeing one way for so long had another truth hidden within it.

On the other hand, there was another important story going on on the USS Discovery. Paul Stamets was still trapped inside the Mycelial Network. I found these parts very emotional. Especially when Stamets is confronted with the memories of Dr. Hugh Culber, the scenes are heart-wrenching. The depth of their relationship and Stamets' mental anguish are shown very beautifully. At the same time, the mystery of the Mycelial Network also begins to become clearer.

The character of Saru was also very important in this episode. This officer who always follows the rules seems much stronger here. He understands that Ash Tyler has big problems inside. That's why he seeks L'Rel's help. Saru's patience, leadership, and sense of responsibility impressed me in this episode.

The parts of Ash Tyler and L'Rel were also very important to the story. The mystery that has been building about Tyler's identity for so long begins to become clearer here. His inner conflict and mental breakdown were worth watching. L'Rel is also a character who cannot be easily called good or bad. She is loyal to her people, but she also has human feelings.

Although Tilly was not seen for much time in this episode, she was still present with the same positive energy as before. I liked her concern for Stamets and her sense of responsibility as a friend. Even in small moments, Tilly's character can make a place in the audience's mind.

The biggest strength of this episode was its storytelling. On the one hand, political intrigue, on the other hand, personal relationships, and at the same time, scientific mysteries—everything was beautifully blended together. No scene felt redundant. Every moment seemed to lay the foundation for the next big event.

The visual effects and set design also have to be said separately. The splendor of the Mirror Universe, the palace-like environment of Empress Georgio, and the spaceship scenes were truly extraordinary. While watching each scene, it seemed that the creators had worked with a lot of care.

Overall, Vaulting Ambition is one of the best episodes of the entire first season for me. As the characters develop, so do the mysteries that are revealed that make the audience's interest in the next episodes increase several times. Especially the surprise at the end made me even more excited to watch the next episode.

Released in 1997 and directed by James Cameron, Titanic was more than just a successful movie. It became a worldwide phenomenon. At the time, it completely dominated pop culture, broke box office records, and turned into the kind of film people went back to see multiple times in theaters. Usually movies with that much hype fade over time, but Titanic held up because underneath all the spectacle is a genuinely well made film.

Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Jack Dawson, a poor artist who wins a third class ticket aboard the Titanic during a poker game. Jack is charming, reckless, and optimistic about life despite having almost nothing. DiCaprio gives the role a natural charisma that makes it easy to understand why audiences connected with him so strongly.

Kate Winslet plays Rose DeWitt Bukater, a wealthy young woman trapped inside a miserable upper class existence and pressured into marrying a man she does not truly love. Winslet gives Rose intelligence, frustration, and emotional depth, making her feel like a real person instead of simply a romantic interest.

The chemistry between DiCaprio and Winslet is what drives the entire film. Yes, parts of the romance are definitely exaggerated in that big Hollywood epic style, but the performances sell it. Their relationship becomes the emotional center of the story, which is important because the audience needs something personal to hold onto once the disaster begins.

Billy Zane plays Cal Hockley, Rose’s controlling fiancé, and while the character is intentionally arrogant and over the top, Zane commits fully to the role. Cal represents the rigid class system and entitlement that the film constantly critiques throughout the story.

Kathy Bates is excellent as Molly Brown, bringing warmth and humor to the movie, while Victor Garber delivers a very human performance as Titanic designer Thomas Andrews. The supporting cast helps the ship feel alive with real people rather than just background characters waiting for the iceberg.

James Cameron directs the film with enormous ambition and attention to detail. The recreation of the Titanic itself remains incredibly impressive even decades later. The Titanic itself feels enormous and overwhelming, but Cameron never loses focus on individual human moments inside the disaster. That balance is what separates the movie from being just another effects driven blockbuster.

Over time, Titanic became one of those movies people almost take for granted because it was so popular. But if you step back and actually watch it again, the craftsmanship is undeniable. The performances, directing, music, pacing, and visuals all come together remarkably well.

Warm greetings! Today I'll be reviewing one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. I truly never thought I'd like it so much. I'd been putting it off for a while until one day I decided to watch it with my children. It's called

FLOW (2024)

I had refused to watch it because I kept asking myself how a film where not a single word is spoken could convey anything, and let me tell you, I was very wrong.

It's a film that confronts us with that great dilemma of humanity when it has destroyed its own planet. No humans appear in the story either; we only see animals in a world where various natural phenomena occur that are beyond their understanding, and they simply try to adapt and survive.

In the story, we see various characters, such as:

The Cat (Protagonist): He is a black, solitary, very independent cat with a very ordinary appearance. At first, he is afraid of water and distrustful of everyone, but he is the central figure of the group and the one who must learn to trust others in order to survive.

The Capybara: It's the peaceful soul of the group. It's extremely relaxed, good-natured, and lazy (spending a lot of time sleeping). It's not bothered by the conflicts of others and becomes the peacemaker of the group, keeping the crew together and demonstrating great nobility.

The Dog (A Labrador Retriever): It's cheerful, noisy, hyperactive, and bursting with energy. Unlike his original pack, he is extremely friendly and just wants to play and make friends, even with the apathetic cat; he represents absolute loyalty.

The Lemur: A ring-tailed lemur who turns out to be a compulsive hoarder. He is obsessed with collecting and protecting all kinds of shiny objects and trinkets he finds along the way. At first, he is selfish, but he changes throughout the journey. I found him to be the cutest and funniest of the group.

The Secretary Bird: A large and majestic bird that joins the group after being injured and separated from its flock. Although it has trouble flying due to its injury, it becomes a kind of wise guide or helmsman for the group. I would say it is the most powerful figure in the story.

Together, these animals struggle to survive the natural disasters they encounter along their journey. It's a dramatic, sometimes harrowing story with a profound message about caring for the environment and our only home: Earth.
