I recently finished both seasons of Arcane, a series based on the classic video game League Of Legends that is getting a lot of buzz and very rightly so. Although I have known about LoL for years and have actually played it a couple of times, it never really caught my attention until now with this series.

The lore has changed a bit (from what I understand) but really this series is so incredibly well done that it hardly matters. In this post I explain why, including some spoilers.

Synopsis

Based on League Of Legends, Arcane introduces us to Piltover, a prosperous city in the world of Runeterra where the path to progress is ever faster. Its inhabitants are happy and just as fortunate as the world around them. However, very close to this city, underground, is the city of Zaun, which is the opposite of the other. It is gloomy and consumed by its poverty. The inhabitants struggle every day to survive despite the high crime rate, and many have grown up with a deep resentment towards the others above, which has led to great rivalry.

In the midst of this social tension, two girls are born in Zaun, Powder and Vi, sisters who have lost their parents in one of the many clashes between the two cities, who are now cared for by Vander as well as other children. Vi will grow up thirsty for justice for Zaun, Powder will try to follow in her footsteps since she admires her; this will lead them to enter Piltover where they will have their first contact with Hextech, a new technology that works with arcane magic that Jayce, a young genius, begins to develop.

This technology would be a great advance that would lead to a greater confrontation between Zaun and Piltover, changing everyone's lives forever...

There is so much to say about this series, it is full of details and curiosities that if I mentioned them all I am sure that this would stop being a post and become an essay. Therefore I will highlight the most relevant ones, but believe me it is worth investigating all the details of this story.

It goes without saying that for me it is one of the best animated series that exists for several reasons, but mainly because of the animation. Arcane combines 3D and 2D animation techniques and hand-made illustration that gives it a sketch-like appearance that is truly unmatched. The aesthetics can be defined as a mix of cyberpunk and steampunk that is very much in keeping with the story, since we are talking about futuristic fictional settings, with science fiction creatures as well as magic.

I honestly think that if it weren't for the animation this series would have passed as just another one, but the French animation studio Fortiche Production really took advantage of the material they were given, understanding the essence of the story and transmitting the message literally in every frame. They took the detail very seriously, because beyond creating a unique and impeccable animation style, they also made sure to hide clues, little easter eggs to surprise the viewers.

Throughout the series there are details that can go unnoticed, but if you look closely you will realize that from the beginning they tell you what will happen later. In the backgrounds, arrangements, in everything there is information about the psychology of the characters, the symbolism of some act, the future consequences of what happens and in general, spoilers so subtle that at first glance they don't seem to mean anything, but as the story progresses they make perfect sense.

I also find the use of the impact frames resource interesting, which are images that last just a few seconds, but which clearly indicate the hidden intention behind each scene. Although they are difficult to perceive due to their brevity, if you notice one, it will generate a certain surprise, which makes this another great detail.

For those who have already seen the series, they will know which scene has this impact frame, and perhaps it will make them hate a certain character more, just as I hate it😂.

The designs are also equally amazing, as they don't follow a general pattern with all the characters, they leave that to certain details. In general, the appearance of each one is very different, following different structures that simply work very well for each case. For example, Jinx and Vi are sisters so they look similar, but each one has a distinctive design that gives them their own essence.

The animation alone is worth watching this series, but it has another point in its favor, which is its story. It has an excellent script, with a clear structure and it gradually becomes more complex until it reaches the central message. If you watch the first season, it is much simpler, with a very obvious message that is social criticism, the consequences of oppression, discrimination and resentment, apart from personal dramas. But slowly other stories are incorporated that take the first elements much further, to the point of turning the second season into an existentialist reflection, evaluating the course of time, the consequences of our actions, morality, kindness and hatred, the continuation of a legacy, revolution, as well as traumas and psychological problems.

Honestly, I am impressed by how they got such a developed story out of a game, that although between the first and second season there is a very big leap in theme, it is really so well written that this does not matter much. In the end you get hooked because you need to know what will happen at the end.

The only thing I didn't like very much (and I think this will be an unpopular opinion) is the forced inclusion of sex scenes. The one I can understand is the scene between Jayce and Mel because it serves to show that Jayce will be more attached to her and therefore much more susceptible to her influence, which will affect his future decisions. Besides, it's too short to be tedious, it just lets you know what's going on. But the scene between Vi and Caitlyn... I'm sorry, but it was too long and unnecessary. Don't get me wrong, I love the couple, they complement each other very well, their bond is necessary and both are important, but the story doesn't allow for such long sex scenes. 15 seconds or less was enough (the funny thing is that it was going to last even longer than it did).

Again, I'm sorry but there are many stories where sexual preference and everything that goes with it is simply irrelevant.

Leaving that aside, Arcane also stands out for the psychology of its characters. I want to go into this in another post because there is a lot to cover, but I must say that it is great to see so clearly represented the different consequences of trauma, mental instability, as well as the emotional bonds between the characters. The vast majority are very complex connections that go far beyond good or bad, love or hate. From Vander's paternal bond with the children, the bond generated by trauma between Jinx and Silco, to the deep connection between Viktor and Jayce, as well as many others.

Everything is written perfectly well. In addition, you end up empathizing with many characters, hating the bad guys for their cruelty, and simply delighted with the whole story.

The other aspect that made this series perfect was the soundtrack, each song perfectly represents the emotions of the moment, whether it's from the scene in general or from the actions of a specific character. For me, it's a credit to not only use leitmotifs (central and repetitive themes of something specific), which of course they have, but they also use songs from mainstream music or artists that really represent what they want to convey. So the music becomes a complement that accentuates the message.

One of my favorite songs in this series is The Line by Twenty One Pilots. It's so beautiful and melancholic at the same time that it made me cry.

So Arcane is really an amazing series that is worth watching. Plus it's not that long so you can easily watch both seasons if you haven't already.

Hace poco terminé las dos temporadas de Arcane, serie basada en el clásico videojuego League Of Legends que está teniendo mucho revuelo y con toda la razón. Aunque desde hace años he sabido de la existencia del LoL y de hecho lo jugue un par de veces, nunca captó mi atención completamente hasta ahora con esta serie.

El lore ha cambiado un poco (por lo que tengo entendido) pero realmente esta serie está tan increíblemente bien hecha que eso poco importa. En este post les explico porqué, incluyendo spoilers.

Sinopsis

Basada en League Of Legends, Arcane nos presenta a Piltover, una ciudad próspera en el mundo de Runeterra donde el camino hacia el progreso es cada vez más rápido. Sus habitantes son felices e igual de afortunados que el mundo que los rodea. Sin embargo, muy cerca de esta ciudad, en lo subterráneo, está la ciudad de Zaun que es todo lo opuesto a la otra. Ésta es lúgubre y se consume en su pobreza. Los habitantes luchan cada día por sobrevivir a pesar de la alta criminalidad, y muchos han crecido con un profundo resentimiento hacia los otros de arriba, lo cual ha hecho que exista una gran rivalidad.

En medio de esta tensión social nacen dos niñas en Zaun, Powder y Vi, hermanas que han perdido a sus padres en uno de los tantos enfrentamientos entre las dos ciudades, quienes ahora son cuidadas por Vander y otros niños. Vi crecerá con sed de justicia por Zaun, Powder intentará seguir sus pasos puesto que la admira; esto las llevará a entrar en Piltover donde tendrán su primer contacto con el Hextech, una nueva tecnología que funciona con magia arcana que comienza a desarrollar Jayce, un joven genio.

Esa tecnología sería un gran avance que llevará a un mayor enfrentamiento entre Zaun y Piltover, cambiando la vida de todos para siempre...

Sobre esta serie hay muchísimo que decir, está colmada de detalles y curiosidades que de mencionarlas todas estoy segura que esto dejaría de ser un post para pasar a ser un ensayo. Por ello destacaré lo de mayor relevancia, pero créanme que vale la pena investigar sobre todos los detalles de esta historia.

De más está decir que para mí es una de las mejores series animadas que existe por varios motivos, pero principalmente por la animación. Arcane combina técnicas de animación 3D, 2D e ilustración hecha a mano que le otorga un aspecto tipo sketch que sinceramente no tiene comparación. La estética se puede definir como una mezcla de cyberpunk y steampunk que va muy acorde a la historia, pues hablamos de escenarios ficticios futuristas, con criaturas de ciencia ficción así como magia.

Sinceramente creo que si no fuera por la animación esta serie habría pasado como una más, pero el estudio de animación frances Fortiche Production verdaderamente sacó provecho del material que les entregaron, comprendiendo la esencia de la historia y transmitiendo el mensaje literalmente en cada frame. Ellos se tomaron el detallismo muy enserio, pues más allá de crear un estilo de animación único e impecable, también se aseguraron de esconder pistas, pequeños easter eggs para sorprender a los espectadores.

Durante toda la serie hay detalles que pueden pasar desapercibidos, pero si miras muy bien te darás cuenta que desde el inicio te dicen lo que pasará más adelante. En los fondos, arreglos, en todo hay información sobre la psicología de los personajes, los simbolismos de algún acto, las futuras consecuencias de lo que ocurre y en general, spoilers tan sutiles que a primera vista no parecen significar nada, pero a medida que la historia avanza tienen todo el sentido del mundo.

También me parece interesante el uso del recurso impact frames (frames de impacto) que son imagenes que duran apenas unos segundos, pero que te indican claramente la intención oculta detrás de cada escena. Aunque son difíciles de percibir por su brevedad, si notas alguno te generará cierta sorpresa, lo que hace de estos otro detalle más que está genial.

Para quienes ya han visto la serie, sabrán cuál escena es la de este impact frame, y quizás les hará odiar más a cierto personaje, tal como lo odio yo😂.

Además los diseños de son igualmente increíbles pues no es que sigan un patrón general con todos los personajes, eso lo dejan para ciertos detalles. En general el aspecto de cada uno es muy distinto, siguiendo estructuras diferentes que simplemente quedan muy bien para cada caso. Por ejemplo, Jinx y Vi son hermanas por lo que se ven similares, pero cada una tiene un diseño distintivo que les da su propia esencia.

Solamente por la animación ya vale la pena ver esta serie, pero tiene otro punto a su favor que es su historia. Es un guión excelente, con una estructura clara y progresivamente se va complejizando hasta llegar al mensaje central. Si ves la primera temporada es mucho más simple, con un mensaje muy evidente que es la crítica social, las consecuencias de la opresión, la discriminación y el resentimiento, aparte de los dramas personales. Pero lentamente se van incorporando otras historias que llevan los primeros elementos mucho más allá, hasta el punto de convertir la segunda temporada en una reflexión existencialista, evaluando el curso del tiempo, las concecuencias de nuestros actos, la moralidad, la bondad y el odio, la continuación de un legado, la revolución, así como los traumas y problemas psicológicos.

Honestamente me impresiona cómo de un juego sacaron una historia tan desarrollada, que si bien entre la primera y segunda temporada hace un salto demasiado grande en temática, realmente está tan bien escrita que esto no importa mucho. Al final te quedas enganchado porque necesitas saber qué ocurrirá al final.

Lo único que no me agradó mucho (y esto creo que será una opinión poco popular) es la inclusión para mi forzada de escenas sexuales. La que puedo llegar a entender es la escena entre Jayce y Mel porque sirve para demostrar que Jayce estará más vinculado a ella por lo tanto mucho más suceptible a su influencia, cosa que afectará en sus futuras decisiones. Aparte es demasiado breve como para que llegue a ser tediosa, simplemente te deja saber lo que pasa. Pero la escena entre Vi y Caitlyn... Lo siento, pero fue demasiado larga e innecesaria. No me malinterpreten, me encanta la pareja, se complementan muy bien, su vínculo es necesario y ambas son importantes, pero la historia no da como para extenderse en escenas sexuales así. Con 15 segundos o menos era suficiente (lo gracioso es que iba a durar incluso más de lo que fue).

Lo siento, pero hay muchas historias donde la preferencia sexual y todo lo que conlleva es simplemente irrelevante.

Dejando eso de lado, Arcane también destaca por la psicología de sus personajes. En esto quiero explayarme en otro post porque tiene bastante tela que cortar, pero debo decir que es genial ver tan claramente representadas las distintas consecuencias de los traumas, la inestabilidad mental, así como los vínculos emocionales entre los personajes. La gran mayoría son conexiones muy complejas que van mucho más allá de buena o mala, amor u odio. Desde el vínculo paternal de Vander con los niños, el vínculo generado del trauma entre Jinx y Silco, hasta la conexión profunda entre Viktor y Jayce, así como muchas otras.

Todo está escrito perfectamente bien. Además terminas empatizando con muchos personajes, odiando a los malos por su crueldad, y simplemente encantado con toda la historia.

El otro aspecto que hizo a esta serie perfecta fue el soundtrack, cada canción representa perfectamente las emociones del momento, bien sea de la escena en general o de las acciones de un personaje en específico. Para mí tiene mérito que no usan solamente leitmotiv (temas centrales y repetitivos de algo específico), que por supuesto tienen, sino que también hacen uso de canciones de música o artistas mainstream que realmente representan lo que buscan transmitir. Así la música que vuelve un complemento que acentúa el mensaje.

De mis canciones favoritas en esta serie está The Line (La Línea) de Twenty One Pilots. Es tan hermosa y melancólica a la vez que me hizo llorar.

Así que Arcane es realmente una serie increíble que vale la pena ver. Además no es tan larga, por lo que fácilmente puedes ver ambas temporadas si aún no lo has hecho.

It's been over a month since I finished watching this series and I still can't get over it. Arcane became one of my favorite series because of its high quality. To the point that I personally consider it a masterpiece.

Ya pasó más de un mes desde que terminé de ver esta serie y aún no puedo superarla. Arcane se volvió una de mis series preferidas por su alta calidad. Al punto que en lo personal, la considero una obra maestra.

This time I want to highlight one of the many aspects that were excellent, the music. It is no secret that Arcane's soundtrack has multiple songs that are spectacular. And in this blog I would like to pay tribute to this facet. I CLARIFY THAT THIS IS MY PERSONAL TOP. BASED ON MY TASTES.

En esta oportunidad quiero resaltar uno de los tantos aspectos que fueron excelentes, la música. No es ningún secreto que la banda sonora de Arcane cuenta con múltiples canciones que son espectaculares. Y en este blog quisiera rendirle homenaje a esta faceta. ACLARO QUE ESTE ES MI TOP PERSONAL. BASADO EN MIS GUSTOS.

🔹 7. RENEGADE (WE NEVER RUN) 🔹

This song can be heard in chapter 2 during the fight between Sevika and Smeech. It enters the top because I love its rhythm. To the point that it becomes impossible for me not to move my head to the beat while listening to it. I think this song goes perfect with the fight sequence. I don't put it in a higher position because I don't find the lyrics very pleasant and because I consider that there are better ones.

Esta canción la podemos escuchar en el capítulo 2 durante la pelea entre Sevika y Smeech. Entra en el top porque me encanta su ritmo. Al punto que se me hace imposible no mover la cabeza al compás mientras la escucho. Creo que esta canción va perfecta con la secuencia de pelea. No la pongo en un puesto más alto porque no me parece muy agradable la letra y porque considero que hay mejores.

🔹 6. ENEMY 🔹

I believe that when an opening is good enough, you don't feel like skipping it. No matter how many times you've listened to it. This would be the case with Enemy. An intro that lives up to the piece of series that is Arcane. The funny thing is that this wasn't Imagine Dragons' first collaboration with Riot Games. They also did it a decade ago with Warriors. A theme that was part of the League of Legends World Cup in 2014. And that to this day is still listened to.

Yo creo que cuando una apertura es lo suficiente buena, no tienes ganas de saltearla. Sin importar las veces que la hayas escuchado. Este sería el caso con Enemy. Una intro que está a la altura del pedazo de serie que es Arcane. Lo curioso es que esta no fue la primera colaboración de Imagine Dragons con Riot Games. También lo hizo hace una década con Warriors. Un tema que formó parte del mundial de League of Legends en 2014. Y que al día de hoy se sigue escuchando.

🔹 5. WATESLAND 🔹

This song can be heard at the beginning and at the end of chapter 9. When Jinx tries to commit suicide and when he sacrifices himself to protect Vi. I don't usually like this kind of sad and depressing music, but this is an exception. I think that the lyrics of this song perfectly represent Jinx's state of mind during that moment. Sadness, loneliness, tiredness, depression, wanting to end it all. Simply, an excellent piece of music.

Esta canción la podemos escuchar al inicio y al final del capítulo 9. Cuando Jinx intenta suicidarse y cuando se sacrifica para proteger a Vi. No me suelen gustar este tipo de música tan triste y deprimente, pero esta es una excepción. Creo que la letra de esta canción representa a la perfección el estado anímico de Jinx durante ese momento. Tristeza, soledad, cansancio, depresión, con ganas de acabar con todo. Simplemente, una excelente pieza musical.

🔹 4. REMEMBER ME 🔹

We can hear this song in chapter 6, when Viktor enters Vander's mind. Watching the scene where we are shown Vander's memories with a drawing style made with watercolors and this piece of music in the background, is simply, beautiful. I still can't help but get emotional, despite having watched this scene several times. The song is basically beautiful. Its lyrics, its melody, everything.

Esta canción la podemos escuchar en el capítulo 6. Cuando Viktor entra en la mente de Vander. Ver la escena donde se nos muestran los recuerdos de Vander con un estilo de dibujo hecho con acuarelas y esta pieza musical de fondo, es simplemente, hermoso. Todavía no puedo evitar emocionarme, a pesar de haber visto esta escena varias veces. La canción es básicamente preciosa. Su letra, su melodía, todo.

🔹 3. TO ASHES AND BLOOD 🔹

This song can be heard in chapter 3. When Jinx and Vi and Caitlyn and Sevika fight. I think this piece of music is responsible for creating the most epic scene in Arcane. Personally, it makes my skin crawl when I hear that children's chorus while watching Jinx and Vi fight. I don't have much more to add, it's a fantastic song.

Esta canción la podemos escuchar en el capítulo 3. Cuando Jinx y Vi y Caitlyn y Sevika pelean. Creo que esta pieza musical es responsable de crear la escena más épica de Arcane. En lo personal, se me eriza la piel al escuchar ese coro de niños mientras veo luchar a Jinx y Vi. No tengo mucho más que agregar, es canción fantástica.

🔹 2. MA MEILLEURE ENNEMIE 🔹

This song can be heard in chapter 7, when Powder and Ekko start dancing. Thanks to this piece of music, we were given the most beautiful, tender and sweet scene. I think both women, as well as the most masculine man, died of love listening and watching this scene. I risk to say that I listened to this song at least 20 times. And it is the only French song I have on Spotify.

Esta canción la podemos escuchar en el capítulo 7. Cuando Powder y Ekko se ponen a bailar. Gracias a esta pieza musical, nos dieron la escena más hermosa, tierna y dulce. Creo que tanto mujeres, como el hombre más masculino, se murió de amor al escuchar y al ver esta escena. Me arriesgo a decir que esta canción la escuché mínimo 20 veces. Y es la única canción francesa que tengo en Spotify.

🔹 1. THE LINE 🔹

This song can be heard in chapter 8. When Vandar's consciousness disappears from Warwick's body and when Viktor recovers and ascends after Jayce's wound. I have no words to describe what this piece of music generates in me. To this day I find it hard not to get emotional when listening to it. It manages to transmit a lot of feeling and heart. What Twenty One Pilots created is a marvel. It is a pleasure that this band has collaborated.

Esta canción la podemos escuchar en el capítulo 8. Cuando la conciencia de Vandar desaparece del cuerpo de Warwick y cuando Viktor se recupera y asciende luego de la herida que le hizo Jayce. No tengo palabras para describir lo que me genera esta pieza música. Al día de hoy me cuesta no emocionarme al escucharla. Te logra trasmitir mucho sentimiento y corazón. Lo que creó Twenty One Pilots es una maravilla. Es un placer que esta banda haya colaborado.

🔹 VIKTOR HEARD EVERYTHING / VIKTOR ESCUCHÓ TODO🔹

In chapter 8 of the second season there is a scene where Jayce confronts Mel. Where he confronts her and tells her that he was used together with Viktor for the hextech.

After Vi has fought and separated from Caitlyn. At the beginning of chapter 5 we can see a sequence where Vi spends her time drowning her sorrows through alcohol and clandestine fights.

Hace unos días termine de ver la primera temporada de la serie Arcane ya que mi hermana me invitó a verla con ella aunque ella ya vio las dos temporadas y no estaba muy convencida porque pensaba que la trama era algo complicada o que iba más de una historia de videojuegos que obviamente no iba a entender porque realmente no sabía nada de Arcane hasta hace poco que la vi y bueno debo decir que me dejó bastante sorprendida. Lo primero que hay que saber es que Arcane es una serie de género animación la cual fue producida por Riot Games en conjunto con Fortiche Productions y está basada en el un juego bastante popular llamado "League of Legends", además fue estrenada en Netflix y son nueve episodios de 40 minutos de duración cada uno dónde vamos a conocer más de una historia bastante fuerte marcada por la división social debido al poder entre "ricos y pobres", el dolor por la separación entre hermanos y más que todo el rencor que de alguna forma varios personajes llevan debido a experiencias traumáticas, también hay un poco de experimentos científicos, mucha acción y algo de romance aunque no es el tema principal pero se toca de una manera superficial.

La trama nos cuenta la historia que se vive entre dos ciudades llamadas Piltover y Zaun, Piltover es la zona de la ciudad dónde hay más riquezas y viven de una forma más "actualizada" y con privilegios a diferencia de Zaun que es la parte subterránea o la zona dónde hay más carencias, falta de mejoras y mucha pobreza. Entre ambas ciudades siempre ha habido división debido a las diferencias sociales ya que una es más avanzada y rica que la otra por lo que hay muchas injusticias en Zaun y es allí donde comienza la historia de Arcane con un grupo de jóvenes, entre ellas están Vi y Powder dos hermanas que se cuidan y protegen de cualquier peligro, también esta Vander un hombre alto y fuerte quien estuvo en la vida de ambas hermanas y que es considerado como su padre y la figura más importante para ellas.

Para no hacer muchos spoilers digamos que Vi y Powder se meten en muchos problemas ya que visitaron la ciudad de Piltover y está prohibido que personas de la parte subterránea o mejor llamada Zaun puedan acercarse a la ciudad porque son consideradas delicuentes solo por ser de un lugar diferente y de ser de un estrato social más bajo. Hay mucha violencia y entre esos momentos por cuestiones de comunicación y de muchos sentimientos de rabia ambas hermanas Vi y Powder son separadas, Vi termina en la carcel y Powder por ser una niña es criada de alguna manera por un personaje llamado Silco. El es quien se encarga de que Powder crezca y sea parte de su grupo de personas de confianza, pero realmente Powder crece con mucho dolor y rencor hacia Vi porque piensa que la abandonó y su personalidad cambia por completo hasta su propio nombre, ahora es llamada Jinx y no queda nada de esa pequeña niña que luchaba por sus derechos y cuidaba a su hermana a su manera sin importar las circunstancias, solo queda el dolor y la rabia por un pasado que no puede evitar revivir Jinx a cada instante.

Debo decir que la historia es bastante buena y muy parecida a lo que vemos en la realidad como seres humanos dónde ser de clases sociales diferentes crea división, rencor y mucho odio entre la población. También desde la parte psicológica puedo ver cómo el personaje de Powder quien luego crece y se hace llamar Jinx sufre un cambio abrupto por el dolor y la separación de su hermana además de que aparenta tener cambios de humor y de personalidad constantes pero nunca dicen si ella tiene algún problema más allá de lo que se ve en la serie. Cada escena es sumamente perfecta, visualmente es increíble la serie y cómo cada personaje fue creado además del toque de personalidades distintas que tienen cada uno, la estética de la serie fue una de mis cosas favoritas junto con el soundtrack que es liderado por la canción Enemy de Imagine Dragons y que le da más emoción en cada inicio de los nueve episodios de la serie.
I must say that the story is quite good and very similar to what we see in reality as human beings where being of different social classes creates division, resentment and much hatred among the population. Also from the psychological part I can see how Powder's character who later grows up and becomes Jinx suffers an abrupt change due to the pain and separation from her sister, besides she seems to have constant mood and personality changes but they never say if she has any problem beyond what is seen in the series. Each scene is extremely perfect, visually the series is incredible and how each character was created in addition to the touch of different personalities that each one has, the aesthetics of the series was one of my favorite things along with the soundtrack that is led by the song Enemy by Imagine Dragons and that gives more emotion in each start of the nine episodes of the series.

A pesar de ser basada en un juego mi hermana me comentó que no hay relación cercana con la historia de la serie y el juego si no que es más que todo que usaron a los personajes y crearon la historia lo que me parece genial, hay muchas emociones que puedes sentir al ver la serie tanto desde la rabia hasta el llanto ya que si es algo fuerte la historia sobre todo la de Vi y Powder (Jinx). Me disfruté mucho los episodios y me encantó ver algo diferente a lo que siempre suelo ver y agradezco el buen gusto de mi hermana para recomendarme y además ver conmigo la serie, fue una experiencia muy grata y estoy emocionada por ver la segunda temporada que aparenta ser mucho más dramática y que creo que si me hará llorar jaja. ¿Que opinan ustedes de esta serie, cuál es su personaje favorito (sin dar spoilers jaja)? 💙✨
Despite being based on a game my sister told me that there is no close relationship with the story of the series and the game but it is mostly that they used the characters and created the story which I think is great, there are many emotions that you can feel when watching the series both from anger to crying because it is a strong story especially that of Vi and Powder (Jinx). I really enjoyed the episodes and I loved watching something different from what I always watch and I appreciate my sister's good taste to recommend me and also watch the series with me, it was a very pleasant experience and I'm excited to see the second season which seems to be much more dramatic and I think it will make me cry haha. I remember starting to play League of Legends quite a few years ago, at that time I had a pretty bad internet, so the PING would jump from 100 to 800, making it impossible for me to play well, so eventually I stopped playing it. Several years later and with a better internet, I decided to play it again, but my attention span at that time was short, so I quit again. From time to time I was aware of some news about the game but very little. I started to play Wild Rift, which is LOL but mobile version, I played it for a few months but I also quit. Then they announced a series based on the universe of LOL, which already the characters or also called "Champions" had their own story and LORE, but this new series, would bring a new LORE and a new way to tell the story of some of the most iconic characters of the game, that series is called ARCANE.

The first season of this series was spectacular, one of the best adaptations of a video game made series that exist, with an excellent visual quality and an outstanding artistic level, in addition to the excellent vocal performances by the actors, made that from the beginning this series was in the mouth of many people. A series that brought with it many people who did not know anything about League of Legends, other people who knew the game but for some reason or another stopped playing, like me, and those who still play LOL and made them want to play even more when they saw this series.

With its first season we were shown the origin of many characters: Jinx, Ekko, VI, among many others and with this second season, closes a part of the history of these characters, because although they have said that ARCANE would only have two seasons, it was confirmed that this universe would expand with the creation of other products such as series or movies, being this something quite good for those people like me, were left wanting to continue seeing these characters, their development and soon stories of new champions of the game. This second season immediately shows us the consequences of the attack perpetrated by Jinx, which caused several important deaths, being this the beginning of the war between two factions, being Jinx the image and representation, even being a kind of emblem for the people who live "below", so to speak.

The use of magic and technology by Viktor, turns him into a kind of God, which will cause the end of life and an apocalyptic future, Jayce being on the trail and search for his old friend to stop him. This series also brought a bit of controversy regarding League of Legends and is that Viktok, in the game, has a pretty good and unique design, which has lasted for many years, but in ARCANE, after Viktor became practically a God, has a totally different design from the game, therefore, the current design of Viktor in the video game, will be replaced by the design of Viktor of the series. Many did not like this radical change because Viktor had the same design for many years and compared to the series version, it is a huge design change.

Another quite different change in terms of design with respect to the series and the video game, is that of Warwick, a fairly classic werewolf but with a very good design in the video game, however, in the series presents a design with more human features, although they imply in the series that this character will mutate over time, so the Warwick of the series is very likely that when he reappears in any other upcoming series of that universe, he will have a design more similar to that of the video game. In short, ARCANE is an excellent series, I was very eager to continue seeing the story of these characters and several stories that were left unfinished, but it is more than certain that this will be expanded in future projects.

Recuerdo haber empezado a jugar League of Legends hace bastantes años atrás, en aquel tiempo tenía un internet bastante malo, por lo que el PING saltaba de 100 a 800, por lo que se me hacía imposible jugar bien, por lo que eventualmente deje de jugarlo. Vario años después y con un mejor internet, decidí volver a jugarlo, pero mi capacidad de atención en ese instante era poca, por lo que nuevamente lo volví a dejar. Empecé a jugar Wild Rift, el cual es LOL pero version mobile, lo estuve jugando unos meses pero también lo dejé. Luego anunciaron una serie basada en el universo de LOL, los cuales ya los personajes o también llamados “Campeones” tenían su propia historia y LORE, pero esta nueva serie, traería consigo un nuevo LORE y una nueva forma de contar la historia de algunos de los personajes más emblemáticos del juego, esa serie tiene por nombre ARCANE.

La primera temporada de esta serie fue espectacular, una de las mejores adaptaciones de un videojuego hecho serie que existen, con una excelente calidad visual y un nivel artístico sobresaliente, además de las excelentes actuaciones vocales por parte de los actores, hicieron que desde un inicio esta serie estuviese en la boca de muchas personas. Una serie que trajo consigo a muchas personas que no conocían nada de League of Legends, otras personas que si conocía el juego pero por algún motivo u otro dejaron de jugar, como yo, y aquellos que aún siguen jugando LOL e hicieron que le dieran más ganas de jugar al ver esta serie.

Con su primera temporada nos mostraron el origen de muchos personajes: Jinx, Ekko, VI, entre muchos otros y con esta segunda temporada, cierra una parte de la historia de estos personajes, porque aunque hayan dicho que ARCANE solo tendría dos temporadas, se confirmó que este universo se expandiría con la creación de otros productos como series o películas, siendo esto algo bastante bueno para aquellas personas que como yo, se quedaron con ganas de seguir viendo a estos personajes, su desarrollo e próximamente historias de nuevos campeones del juego. Esta segunda temporada nos muestra inmediatamente las consecuencias del ataque perpetrado por Jinx, el cual causo varias muertes importantes, siendo esto el inicio de la guerra entre dos facciones, siendo Jinx la imagen y la representación, incluso siendo una especie de emblema para la gente que vive “abajo”, por decirlo de algún modo.

El uso de la magia y tecnología por parte de Viktor, lo convierte en una especie de Dios, el cual provocará el fin de la vida y un futuro apocalíptico, estando Jayce tras la pista y búsqueda de su antiguo amigo para poder detenerlo. Esta serie además trajo un poco de polémica con respecto a League of Legends y es que Viktok, en el juego, tiene un diseño bastante bueno y único, que ha durado bastantes años, pero en ARCANE, luego de que Viktor se convirtiera en prácticamente un Dios, tiene un diseño totalmente diferente al del juego, por ende, el diseño actual de Viktor en el videojuego, será sustituido por el diseño de Viktor de la serie. A muchos no les gustó este cambio tan radical porque Viktor tuvo un mismo diseño por muchos años y a comparación con su version de la serie, es un enorme cambio de diseño.

Otro cambio bastante diferente en términos de diseño con respecto a la serie y el videojuego, es el de Warwick, un hombre lobo bastante clásico pero con un diseño muy bueno en el videojuego, sin embargo, en la serie presenta un diseño con rasgos más humanos, aunque dan a entender en la serie que este personaje ira mutando con el pasar del tiempo, por lo que el Warwick de la serie es muy probable que cuando vuelva a aparecer en alguna otra próxima serie de ese universo, tenga un diseño más parecido al del videojuego. En definitiva, ARCANE es una excelente serie, me quede con muchas ganas de seguir viendo la historia de estos personajes y varias historias que quedaron inconclusas, pero es más que seguro que esto se expandirá en próximos proyectos.

It's been a habit of mine now to watch a movie a few months or years after it's original release. This habit helps me watch the film unaffected by the masses thoughts and feelings. It is troublesome though, for sometimes I may forget about a movie I've already decided to watch before and since everybody else have watched and forgotten about it, there'll hardly be anything to remind me of it. This series instance is one of those. I remember when it first came out and everyone was posting about it. I said I'd watch it later after the initial hype had died down... then I forgot. What reminded me, was one of @herosik's regular Movies and TV shows headline posts that mentioned the second season of the show. Immediately I saw it, I realized I hadn't even watched the first season, hence I had to go do the needful.

Arcane League Of Legends
*** ### Plot. > The iconic city of Piltover, an utopian city born of science is about to go on a new milestone.. The journey into the arcane. Playing with magic is something that scientists should never indulge in, for as much as it gives, it must take. The underground city of Zaun, just like its topside city is ongoing a new milestone too, although a much darker one. Magic and science, blood and war, a dirty battle between two ideals, and at the forefront are two sisters. *** If one should search for this show on Google, they would see the summary of this show in a nutshell: Intense, Violent and Gripping. Truly I was gripped, my attention, mind and soul was drawn to this shows very center as I watched all the plots, fights and inventions come to life. The flow was perfect, left everything understandable and no loose ends.
The magical runes were perfect in its randomness and symmetry. The beast's, although not fully depicted in the show was a nice touch too, all in all it was beautiful.

- World Building 🌍

What can I say? The environment is beautiful. In its entirety, the world building is just a work of art. I guess since, this was originally a game, the world building would be a given, yet the way it was depicted in the series was just crazy. Scenes of piltover, the underground city, and other exotic mystical places struck viewers with emotions of wonder. It was just so amazing to watch.

- The Characters 🎭

The stars of the show. They brought life, humor, horror and so much more to this wonderfully crafted tale. I had so many favorites, each one despite being animated looking as human as so much people in their words, thoughts and actions. There was no bad character, not even amongst the villains. Everyone was needed and everyone was shown time to grow and glow. The character developments were beautiful crafted, Vi and Jinx especially. Making you understand and appreciate the characters actions in the story even better.

- The Animation 🎎

The animation in this show was wonderful. Using 3D styles, it helped in so many scenes in bringing out depth and using so much colors and gradients that helped blend everything together. The colors helped build the atmosphere for whatever scene and the animation was just too fluid in the fights🔥 The animators deserve an award and well earned rest.

Not too long a rest, as we're all waiting for Seasons 2.

In summary, this show was one of the best that I've seen in quite a long time. To be honest, if you're not me, I don't know why you haven't watched it already 😂😂

A total 10 stars and I can't wait for Season 2 in November.

Hello everyone! I hope you are feeling great. Today I want to share with you a review of a series that honestly blew my mind when I saw it. So I'll tell you my opinions about it, it's about the series: Arcane. It is somewhat known, but maybe some of you do not know it, or have not had much contact with the world of the animated series. This series had such a great impact, that even people far away from the League of Legends videogame world gave it a chance. I am included in this group of people, I had not had any kind of contact with LOL, I had heard my college classmates talking about it, and they told me that it was very competitive and that it was more or less a fantasy world that focused on group fights, among other things, that I never fully understood. After a while, seeing how many people spoke wonders of this series, and categorized it as one of the best animated series they had ever seen, curiosity got the better of me. I decided to watch it, and try to understand why I was liking it so much... And thank goodness I did.

It's art, it has really beautiful shots, the mix between 2D and 3D animation is very well achieved, it doesn't look ugly, like in other productions... The action scenes are frenetic and exciting, including the occasional slow motion that gives it a nice touch... all accompanied by some great angles and various perspectives that keep your attention, and leave you with your mouth open. Beyond the great animation, the story that is presented and the characters are also fantastic, we get into the lives of two orphaned sisters who grow up in different worlds and perspectives by fate. Watching the relationship between them, and appreciating how they evolve is heartbreaking. Both make some questionable decisions that will bring great consequences in their lives, none of the characters is completely good or bad, they are complex, not everything is black and white...

The jewel of this series, and one of the main reasons why many people gave this story a chance, was Jinx, one of the main characters. Her design with that blue hair and her crazy weapons, show a whole wild and unbridled nature. Her personality is very unpredictable, going quickly from joy to anger, among many other traits that make you regret that she really is very bad in the head. (And yes, she is). The scenes in which this curious character goes berserk are amusing, though underneath that layer of insanity, you can see some courage and humanity. Each character here has their unique motivations and perspectives, it's quite interesting how these clash with each other, things like double standards and contempt for a less resourceful society are brought to the table. Another thing I liked most about Arcane, is how it brilliantly balances satisfying fans of the game while introducing new viewers to this interesting and visually spectacular world!

I, as a person who never played League of Legends, at the beginning of this story was a bit crazy because of the amount of strange terms and names that were presented in the chapter. But soon I found myself totally inside this war, and this world, this means that the series presents you with a very good base, without needing many chapters for you to understand it. The animation allows for very epic battle sequences, full of explosive magic and interesting technology. My rating for this beauty is a 9.5/10. It's easily one of the best animated series I've seen, the animation - visual art are top notch, it's ideal for new viewers who are very interested in animated productions, and who love the whole video game atmosphere. It's mature and accessible, perfect for new people who want to see something new. After seeing that great season finale, I can't wait to see what's next in this story. I'm counting the days to get my hands on the confirmed second season! I want to share with you the trailer of this great series, so you can get a little deeper into this world.

Been watching a lot of animation and cartoons last year and the few days in 2024 and one thing I can really say from my heart is Art is amazing. I really love and adore these animations I watch. I don't think I'll ever outgrow 'cartoons" for real.

Arcane is a 2021 animation. Funny how I haven't/ didn't hear of this epic animation that year. It's a series that is set to the same universe as the game, League of Legends! It serves as a prequel to the game. The story revolves around technology,the world of piltover and the lanes of Zaun. Source

With its main character being Vi,I couldn't think of a more suitable person that fits it. Source

Piltover is the central location in the series.Piltover is known for its advanced technology, wonderful architecture and a bustling atmosphere. It's a home to brillant inventors,wealthy people and scientist. The city is located amongst the cliffs above the district of Zaun. Source Vi is a strong young female that was brought up in a rough world and had to work and fight to earn her place in the world. The animation series tells us about her relationship with her sister. It shows us their growth and progress. Source

Arcane also mixed a lot with technology and magic. With the higher ups trying to us technology to create 'magic' with a good intention in heart; solely to help those sick and to make the world a better place. They're being taken advantage of and this technology is abused and falls into the wrong hands.

Arcane takes us through an emotional rollercoaster between the two sisters. It shows us how relationships can easily break and people can split apart like they never knew each other. It also shows us the discrimination between two worlds of the same kind. Vi grew up in the rougher parts of piltover,the Undercity which was located under its glamours surface. This explains why she was so tough.

One thing I really loved about the show was its animation! The animation was great,looked great! I also loved the fact that you could feel the characters emotion through the TV/phone/ laptop screen. Vi is a really lovable and relatable character. A pretty one too. She plays her elder sister role perfectly, has some flaws but hey,who doesn't?

I think this is the second time I've watched Arcane, and just because I enjoyed it so much is why I'll review it, plus I watched it while playing LoL: Wild Rift, which is the phone version of LoL, and fuck, I watched a chapter between several games and had too much fun, even if I ended up losing many times because more bad people are playing than good people, but aha, this is not a release of the game, it's a release of the series, and I love it, I love it so much, it's always a good option to watch when you don't feel like watching something new, it always will be.

Arcane takes place in Piltover, a utopian city, while beneath them lies the old city of Zaun, The Undercity. The story revolves around Vi and her sister, Powder, now known as Jinx, while many characters and stories revolve around them, mingling, meddling, coming to form a knot almost impossible to let go of, impossible to know what will happen next, and it's so well done that even if we come to feel like we don't understand anything, we keep watching just to enjoy this wonderful creation.

As soon as I heard Powder singing in the first scene of the series I almost cried, but I was already sure that the series was going to be amazing, I already knew that I loved it and that I couldn't stop watching it until I finished it in one day. That song is too dark and beautiful, plus the scene in the background is heartbreaking and although we can guess what happens, we don't know for sure until the song ends, and only when it ends we are heartbroken and then we cry heartbreakingly.

The fact that the series came out in 3 acts made up of 3 episodes each act made me not watch the series from the first moment it came out, and after seeing so many posts here about Arcane made me stay away from the series even more. Yes I knew it was extremely good, yes I knew I was going to like it, but I was overloaded with so much information the first day of the premiere that I felt like I would get sick if I just got to watch the series in full swing, it was horrible, even after it was over I took 1 more to watch it after everyone else had forgotten about it so I could enjoy it without feeling like I had someone next to my ear whispering that I had to watch it or it would kill me.

Yes, Arcane has a perfect animation, and yes, Arcane has a perfect OST, but I want to talk about the incredible character that is Jinx, although we know that there are more main characters, Jinx is the main character, at least for me, from the beginning is the first character we see, and the end is also with her; we accompany many other characters in their own stories, but they are secondary after all, the main thread will always be Vi and Jinx, but even Vi ends up hiding behind the shadow of Jinx. Jinx is tormented by her mind, by her past, by her heart, she is even tormented by her sister, and although the fantasies and almost hallucinations in which she lives are her greatest comfort, they end up becoming part of her torment again when her reality changes completely, when the lies come to light, and even then, it becomes impossible for Jinx to find a truth that helps her.

Jinx está atormentada por su mente, por su pasado, por su corazón, incluso es atormentada por su hermana, y aunque las fantasías y casi alucinaciones en las que vive son su mayor consuelo, terminan volviéndose parte de su tormento de nuevo cuando su realidad cambia por completo, cuando las mentiras salen a la luz, e incluso así, se le hace imposible a Jinx encontrar una verdad que la ayude.

First of all, Arcane is not exclusively for the Fans of Videogame, League of Legends and it would be loved by everyone. Arcane in a short time of its premiere is already cataloged as one of the best animated series of Netflix and when I began to see it I could notice the quality of the series and until the end of 9 Chapters divided into three parts, I can say that Arcane is one of the best series of 2021 not just only in animation but overall.

Arcane has a simple story and already seen several times, we have a city divided into two, the privileged part and the poor part and the division of social classes, the history of the characters, humans taking advantage of a power that they can not control in their entirety and other things more. The difference is that Arcane gets many things that another series do not get, strong and very well developed characters, each of the perspectives are very well developed that it is difficult not to understand the different points of view of each character including the Villain.

Every time the characters do something that was expected, it is surprised by doing something else and it is when you understand that the characters are not tools, but people dealing with many things at the same time, people who have their principles well marked and act depending on what They want to get or what from their point of view it is correct. Even characters that are initially unpleasant after you can understand them.

An example would be the villain that at the beginning is shown as someone who only enjoys doing evil, but little by little they show more of their history and also show the relationship with the main antagonist who at first seemed only convenience, but little by little it is He showed otherwise, all his ideals were genuine, so, on one part he hates it for all that causes, but on the other hand you do not stop feeling appreciation or hurt by him. That is, a good person in the background, but that the actions of him are not entirely correct.

A character that at the beginning is taken little importance, then becomes more important and has the story of him, for example, Heimerdinger, Caitlyn, Mel and Viktor being the last one who managed to impact. In addition to all this, each important element is well explained, so you do not necessarily have to follow the saga to understand it since the series plans to introduce you from the beginning of the story that is quite long and complex.

And is that the series is an introduction to the world of Runeterra and that the creator of the series is the same of the game brings enough hope apart from that part of the story is in the game, so it is not very complicated. Surely the series will have more protagonists (the second season was confirmed!).

On the other hand, the animation is at another level, combining the 3D with 2D and each scene is very well designed and full of details, with palette of very bright colors, all these graphic elements come together to give another level to the series and to the Characters where with the images we can see what are happening and all this by adding the music that combines very well with the environment and does not distract what is happening.

History has drama, quite drama, the series focuses on the actions of the characters and their terrible results despite their good intentions and as mentioned, each point of view is very well developed so it is difficult not to support one or the other. In Si, the series is very good quality, so, for criticism and the public is excellent and it is that it shows that the series is made with enough love, so, all that charisma and love is transmitted very well .

Arcane is one of those simple stories to see and understand, but very well developed, endearing and charismatic characters and visually quite interesting that makes it enjoyable for all the audience. What it implies, is that if a study works with the right people, with the right bases, with people who do their work very well and with the indicated budget you can have an excellent result: a series that does everything that is proposes that introduces you so much in the story that you can not think about anything else while you see it.

I can say many things about this animation. First of all, it will be praise, lots of praise. On the other hand, I do complain a bit, but not much. However, I can definitely say that this series is outstanding in several areas, and I wish I could say that about everything. All in all, these are not that painful things, but on the other hand ... So many things have been done well, that you regret a bit that not everything has been polished to the end. Certainly Blizzard also regrets it, not only because he ignored the enormous potential inherent in DotA and MOBA games in general, but also did not make a great animated series that they could make with a good studio. Some things will probably be perceived as being picky about small details. And well, I will agree - "Arcane" in some respects exceeded my expectations, but a few times I was slightly disappointed that they didn't go a step further. I am aware that some people are unlikely to agree with my opinion and I will not be surprised because of it, it seems to me that I am a bit too strict. This is because I decided to raise my expectations a bit in the reviews and be more critical. Nevertheless, this is probably (so far) the best translation of the game into the language of the movie. Indeed, it is an animation, in the form of a series, based on a game that, contrary to appearances, is quite easy to adapt (some said that it was impossible due to lore, but IMO even a rudimentary plot from the game would be enough to create a script - "Castlevania" shows it well), so the developers had a bit easier task.

Before watching Arcane, I read a lot of positive reviews about it. From fans of the game, people who played it passionately in the past, casual gamers who don't know the title, pop culture lovers who rarely play it, or ordinary viewers. Such ratings are especially promising when you take into account the fact that we are talking about an adaptation of a representative of a fairly young genre of games. It is true that this is a damn popular production, but it seems to me that it is perceived only among young people - both my peers and those younger by a decade or 15 years. Rather, it is not a title that has established itself in the minds of people older than me. And well, I was not disappointed, in fact I was positively surprised many times. Hopefully, if the minor flaws are eliminated, I can honestly give 10/10 to the second season.

Let me start with two things - age category +16 and the presentation of emotions. With all due respect to the excellent animation, lines and technical performance, but these two aspects impressed me even more. Since I was a child, I missed this age category - we got either too polite series, or those intended for adult viewers. I missed something in the middle - something with some blood and brutality, like the old "Dragon Ball Z", "Naruto", "Bleach", "Hunter x Hunter" etc. and vulgar words like "fuck me", "fuck me", "get the fuck out" etc. Not to mention the little extras like drugs and others that may not be very important, but really help in the reception and allow for deeper immersion. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are probably very few visionaries who would make a series like Batman The Animated Series. A series that brilliantly balanced on this border, providing interesting content for slightly older viewers (or those young who are bored with cartoons designed for their age). When it comes to emotions, I was wondering about a new form of presenting them or showing the characters' thoughts. I had a pretty similar idea, but to be honest - the creators of this cartoon did it much better than I had planned. We feel pain, sadness, anger, cognitive dissonance and other emotions much better. We can just as easily identify with them - they react like normal people, not cartoon characters, when their reactions are either too polite or too exaggerated, because hey - the show is for adults, so let's use it and add something.

As for the graphics, animation and lines - when it comes to animated series, this is the most beautiful thing I have seen this year. Well, even compared to the cinema films of larger studios, "Arcane" has no reason to be ashamed. Of course, not everything looks perfect, but I think nothing bad will happen if we turn a blind eye to insignificant scenes, where you could afford less attention to detail. There is no known studio with great achievements behind it, the series is broadcast on Netflix, which, admittedly, can spend more money on a product with potential (subsequent seasons of series that have gathered a lot of fans, 2nd season of "The Witcher", "Irishman", "House of Cards "or 1 season of" Altered Carbon "), but usually makes average or good productions at best. It is not without significance that Riot probably contributed some money (after all, such a series is a good advertisement that will bring them new customers and allow them to expand the brand to new markets and media) or at least took care of quality. The whole thing looks beautiful, at times I felt like I was watching a movie, not an ordinary series. There are many details, the animation is fluid, the characters are very polished. Not to mention cell-shading, such as in "Borderlands" games, which adds extra charm and makes the animation age slower.

"Arcane" also brilliantly transferred the universe known from the game to the language of animation. Some were skeptical of the idea, and I said right from the start that it shouldn't be a problem as long as it is handled by a good visionary director and writers who know the lore of "League of Legends". I appreciate it as a player who spent hundreds of thousands of hours on Summoner's Rift, 3vs3 or ARAM mode a long time ago. It is true that I did not catch all the easter eggs, both the visible ones and those on the 3rd set (intended observers), but seeing each of them gave me a lot of fun. Be it those drawn or mentioned in the words of the heroes. This is perhaps the best game adaptation I've ever seen, be it in the form of a series or a movie. It is both faithful to the original and develops it very well. I hope other creators or studios (as well as those who want to adapt the manga) will see "Arcane" and understand how it should be done. As my friend Wojtek said, a really good and experienced player - "I absorbed every second, every scene and I was delighted with the transfer of my beloved game to the TV screen." It's hard for me to disagree with him.

The plot is mainly about two sisters - Jinx and Vi, who grew up in a poor neighborhood of the city. They did not have an easy life from the beginning - they did not have a mother, the father had to leave them at some stage, they had to fight for theirs every day. One had to bear the burden of the leader of a local, small gang, and the other was perpetually slandered and blamed for everything because of her clumsiness and excessive sensitivity. Their lives change a bit as they rob and devastate Jayce's lab, Arcane's third main character. He is an exceptionally gifted student who dedicates his life to the advancement and discovery of science and to help improve the quality of life for the people of Piltover. I will not reveal the rest, so as not to spoil your viewing pleasure, but I can say that the series deals with the topic of social or financial inequalities and it does it very well. We see it in various examples that often evoke sad emotions in us. Of course, this is not just a drama, we can also see the pleasant and joyful sides of life, but they largely give off a bittersweet taste. Overall, I am happy with these aspects, but there were a few elements that disappointed me. I didn't write them down in my notes and I don't remember about them now, but they were not "Dragon Ball Super" errors, but much smaller. Such scratches on a jewel that prevent a fagot like me from enjoying full joy. A few months ago I might not have paid attention to them, but today they bothered me a bit. Don't get me wrong, it is really well written and thought out, my complaint is mostly due to a slight disappointment - so many things have been done so well, so why has it not been worked out to the end? Or the finale, I had high expectations after the excellent, even excellent penultimate episode, and the one crowning the work was disappointing. Too standard and schematic for the quality of this show.

All in all, if you want to watch something great about steampunk, "Arcane" is one of the best titles I can think of. If I had thought longer, I would probably find something else, such as the anime "Steamboy" or two adaptations of "Fullmetal Alchemist", but if you want something fresh, it probably doesn't get any better than this series made with CGI technology. 9/10 and a big seal of quality - you have to watch it if you like this type of animation. It doesn't matter if you know the game or not. It is not essential to enjoy this show.

I have never been a good player of MOBA genre games, the first game of this style that I played in my life (and I'm sure that most people who know this genre, it is the same for them) is DOTA, but the DOTA version of Warcraft 3, since I never played DOTA 2. However, many years ago, I played League of Legends and compared to DOTA it was much more "friendly" in many aspects, both visually and mechanically, compared to DOTA I felt that LOL was a bit easier, however you still needed to have a lot of skill to play well. But my interaction with LOL only lasted a couple of months and, as I have already mentioned, besides the fact that I am not a good player of this style of games, it also bored me a little, in its time (and I think it still remains today) the community behind this game was quite toxic and intense, being this an aspect, although a minor aspect, of why I stopped playing it.

Over the years Riot Games has forged an impressive trajectory, as it is not only a company focused on video games, it is also a company focused on entertainment in general, from creating music using their characters in different musical genres, from K-POP, Metal, Rap, among others, currently Riot Games is one of the most important video game companies in the industry. Even creating new games with different types of genres from the next Fighting Game and even a MMORGP based on the universe of League of Legends, which could be the top candidate to be the opponent of World of Warcraft and with all the controversy behind Activion Blizzard, perhaps in the future this future promise of MMORGP end up dethroning the unbeatable WOW.

However, this post will not be focused on the trajectory of Riot Games, but on their most recent success and product: Arcane, a series based on the League of Legends universe and that tells us the origins of some of the most emblematic and beloved characters of LOL. I didn't know about the existence of this series until a couple of weeks after its premiere, I didn't even see a trailer before sitting down to watch the episodes, so I entered this new series totally blind and my surprise was huge.

Not only in terms of animation it is spectacular, reminding me a little of the animation style seen in the best Spiderman movie ever made: Into the Spiderverse, but also in terms of plot, which despite not being something spectacular, is very well thought out, because you do not need to know the official Lore of this game, since besides the fact that in this series they changed many aspects and improved many elements of the official Lore of League of Legends, the whole plot from beginning to end is very well developed. We are presented with a very unique universe, with a lot of future and excellent characters. Although I am sure that if you are a player of this game for many years and you know some things of the official Lore, being able to see certain elements in each chapter, from winks and references, makes the experience much more special, although I still enjoyed it despite not knowing anything about the series.

Has the game League of Legends been the longest advertising campaign for a series in history? I think so... jokes aside, Arcane is an excellent series, with a unique atmosphere, with a spectacular acting level in the main characters and with an outstanding animation style.

If you are a fan of League of Legends then you are aware by now about Arcane, their brand new series dedicated to the game's lore and two of its characters (or maybe more) Vi and Jinx. Even if you have never played LoL this series is worth your time.

Before i start reviewing the show let me tell you that i have been a League of Legends player for many years and i managed to climb through Diamond (rank) for those that get what i am saying. Now, regarding RIOT, the company behind the game i'll have to admit that they put a lot of work.

Don't get me wrong League of Legends has one of the shitiest communities in my mind but still i can't argue that they made their game massive, with constant updates and "giving" away thousands of dollars to games. I think that they managed to make e-sports a thing out there. Now once again they made the extra step and had their own series which in my opinion was quite good.

Now, a few things about the series, it has 9 episodes that are about 40 minutes each and was released on 6 November 2021. The Production companies behind are Fortiche productions and ofc Riot Games. Also, there will be a second season which is already confirmed for 2023 i think.

Arcane Plot

The plot is around VI and Jinx and along with those 2 other characters smartly introduced to us. After a war, Vander a veteran soldier saves 2 little girls whose parents were killed. Fast forward and these 2 girls grow a bit, with Vi being a teen a Jinx a bit younger.

The city has been divided into 2 parts, one as the one we know and an underground one led by Vander who maintains stability between the 2. The first 3 episodes show us how Vi, Jinx and the rest of the gang manage to steal some crystals, crystals that Jayce (oh yes the one you know) used for his research, because apparently, he is a scientist.

There we are also introduced to Heimer who is a known scholar and Victor who is also another scientist that believed in Jayce's work, which is tied with magic, something that's a bit heretic in this world as science rules!

A bunch of things happens and now the next 3 episodes have a bit of a timeskip after certain events took place and all those characters i mentioned above are older and with certain goals that they want to achieve.

The gist without huge spoilers is that Vi tries to find Jinx because they got separated, Jayce and Victor have made remarkable progress with their research and a new villain is trying to take control of the upper world!

What I Liked and what i Didn't

First of all, the way they divided the episodes is quite smart. The first 3 show a bit about each character's past, we get to know them and understand how the "world" is governed. The next 3 episodes have a bit of a time skip, showing us what changed and what are the new goals of each character. Finally, in the last 3 the big fight is happening which given the last six that were basically a setup for the final act we are left with a "WHEN SEASON 2?"

Another thing that is amazing is the animation. At first, i thought it is a bit weird and that the fight scenes will be a failure but i was dead wrong and thank god for that. On the other hand, it seems RIOT paid a lot of money for that show and that is a good sign.

The Characters are awesome, the voice acting is great and honestly, you will get to understand their motives as well as their convictions. Ahhh and the music is awesome too, they managed to have the Imagine Dragons create a soundtrack for them!

Final Thoughts

All in all, i believe they did awesome work and it's worth watching whether you like LoL or not. If you are a fan of the game ofc the experience will be 10 times better.

Another thing i wanted to say is that RIOT with this huge success that managed to surpass series on Netflix like Narcos and stranger things, can easily create a whole role of series based on their characters and make millions!

En otro aspecto único es la animación que recuerda mucho al videojuego, y que en varias escenas se experimenta de manera excelente, la escena de Ekko y Jinx es simplemente espectacular. A los que les gusta Imagine Dragons, banda de rock, disfrutaran más esta serie, pues añaden su canción “Enemy”, que se integra bien en el opening y en ciertas escenas. Esa canción se suma al excelente soundtrack de la serie, uno de sus puntos fuertes. Finalmente mencionó que escuche la versión en inglés, y el trabajo de las voces es resaltante.

Hola de nuevo! Hoy les traigo un post muy genial en el que les hablaré sobre la serie Arcane. Esta serie animada está basada directamente en el juego tipo MOBA League of Legends, el cual llegué a jugar bastante cuando era adolescente. Recuerdo que muchos amigos me hablaron de la serie diciéndome que era muy buena aunque yo estaba un poco reacia ya que dejé de jugar LoL, sin embargo siempre fui gran fanática de la historia que construyen dentro del juego ya que cada personaje tiene un origen dentro del universo llamado Runaterra, así que le di una oportunidad a Arcane y la verdad fue una buena decisión que hasta incluso me dieron ganas de jugar de nuevo, así que les comentaré sin spoilers mis impresiones respecto a esta increíble serie, comencemos!

Hello again! Today I come with a very cool post in which I will tell you about the Arcane series. This animated series is based directly on the MOBA type game League of Legends, which I got to play quite a bit when I was a teenager. I remember that many friends told me about the series telling me that it was very good although I was a little reluctant since I stopped playing LoL, however I was always a big fan of the story that they build within the game as each character has an origin within the universe called Runeterra, so I gave a chance to Arcane and the truth was a good decision that even made me want to play again, so I will tell you without spoilers my impressions about this amazing series, let's go!

Esta es una serie franco-estadounidense desarrollada y producida por Riot Games, ambientada directamente en el universo de League of Legends. El servicio de animación viene de parte de Fortiche Productions. Esta serie estaba decidida a estrenarse para el décimo aniversario del juego en el año 2020, pero debido a la pandemia la producción se atrasó y se estrenó este año 2021 cuyo medio de difusión sería la plataforma de streaming Netflix. Esta serie tiene como objetivo adentrarnos a la historia o "lore" original del juego, que consta de tres actos de tres capítulos cada uno que nos muestra el origen y evolución de varios campeones que componen el juego original el cual posee el universo de Runaterra, sin embargo en este caso se ambienta en las ciudades de Piltover y Zaun. Ha recibido muchas críticas positivas y además ha sido vista tanto por jugadores como no jugadores del famoso juego, ya que el extenso universo de League of Legends tiene mucho que ofrecer en cuanto a historia.

This is a French-American series is developed and produced by Riot Games, set directly in the League of Legends universe. The animation service comes from Fortiche Productions. This series was intended to be released for the tenth anniversary of the game in 2020, but due to the pandemic the production was delayed and was released this year 2021 whose means of dissemination would be the Netflix streaming platform. This series aims to introduce us to the original story or "lore" of the game, consisting of three acts of three chapters each that shows the origin and evolution of several champions that make up the original game which has the universe of Runeterra, however in this case is set in the cities of Piltover and Zaun. La trama consta de tres actos con tres episodios cada uno, en el cual se nos presentan las historias ocurridas en las ciudades de Piltover y Zaun. Conocemos la ordenada y académica ciudad de Piltover donde habitan Jayce, Viktor, Caitlyn y Heimerdinger, y la turbulenta y peligrosa ciudad de Zaun donde habitan Vi, Powder (Jinx), Singed y Ekko. En el caso de Jayce y Viktor intentan descubrir más a fondo sobre las runas y se da la creación del Hextech donde Heimerdinger se ve muy dubitativo y Caitlyn ve como el comportamiento de Jayce va cambiando poco a poco. En el caso de los personajes de Zaun vemos como Vi y Powder son básicamente unas cazarrecompensas donde los planes se ven mayormente interferidos por la mala suerte de la pequeña Powder. Por su lado Singed es un científico que experimenta con seres vivos y Ekko poco a poco se va haciendo su camino en esa turbulenta ciudad. Aquí podemos ver como cada personaje va desarrollando su camino hacia la decadencia o apogeo dependiendo del camino que vayan tomando. Podemos observar como se le suben los humos a Jayce, la enfermedad que puede acabar con Viktor, los valores morales de Heimerdinger, la constancia de Caitlyn, el dolor de Vi, la locura de Jinx, el desarrollo de la alquimia de Singed y la fortaleza de Ekko. A medida que avanza la historia podemos ver como las vidas de los personajes se van entrelazando y a su vez, otros personajes que dan cabida al desarrollo de los principales.

The plot consists of three acts with three episodes each, in which we are presented the stories that take place in the cities of Piltover and Zaun. We know the orderly and academic city of Piltover where Jayce, Viktor, Caitlyn and Heimerdinger live, and the turbulent and dangerous city of Zaun where Vi, Powder (Jinx), Singed and Ekko live. In the case of Jayce and Viktor, they try to discover more about the runes and the creation of the Hextech takes place, where Heimerdinger looks very doubtful and Caitlyn sees how Jayce's behavior is changing little by little. In the case of Zaun's characters we see how Vi and Powder are basically bounty hunters where the plans are mostly interfered by the bad luck of little Powder. For his part Singed is a scientist who experiments with living beings and Ekko is gradually making his way in that turbulent city. Here we can see how each character is developing his way to decadence or apogee depending on the path they are taking. We can see how Jayce's mood rises, the disease that can kill Viktor, Heimerdinger's moral values, Caitlyn's constancy, Vi's pain, Jinx's madness, Singed's development of alchemy and Ekko's strength. As the story progresses we can see how the lives of the characters are intertwined and in turn, other characters that make room for the development of the main characters.

Tenemos como protagonista a Vi (Violet), una chica que lidera a su grupo de amigos para cazar recompensas varias, ella cuida de su pequeña hermana (Powder), que aunque es algo miedosa pero que quiere descubrir para que está en el mundo. Ellas están acompañadas de dos chicos los cuales son Mylo, un joven que además de ser un genio abriendo cerraduras, es algo cascarrabias y culpa a Powder por los continuos fracasos de su grupo, sin embargo apoya mucho a sus amigos, con ellos también está Claggor, un chico amable y tierno el cual ayuda a sus amigos como puede. Estos chicos básicamente están bajo el cuidado de Vander, un hombre que aunque parezca sumamente intimidante al verlo, está preocupado por el cuidado de Vi y los demás chicos, sobretodo criando con mano dura a la rebelde Violet. También está Ekko, un joven que al principio parece asustadizo, pero se observa que se va haciendo muy fuerte. A su vez conocemos a Silco, un hombre que es capaz de cualquier cosa por cumplir sus objetivos, así sean métodos sucios, y por último el misterioso científico Singed, del cual se sabe que hacia experimentos crueles en seres vivos y de hecho tuvo uno que otro aprendiz. Estos personajes se desarrollan en el distrito suburbano de Zaun, una ciudad conocida por tener a personas sumamente peligrosas y violentas.

The main character is Vi (Violet), a girl who leads her group of friends to hunt various bounties, she takes care of her little sister (Powder), who is a bit fearful but wants to discover what she is in the world for. They are accompanied by two boys who are Mylo, a young man who besides being a genius at picking locks, is somewhat cantankerous and blames Powder for the continued failures of his group, however he is very supportive of his friends, with them is also Claggor, a kind and tender boy who helps his friends as he can. These boys are basically under the care of Vander, a man who although he seems extremely intimidating to look at, is concerned about the care of Vi and the other boys, especially raising the rebellious Violet with an iron fist. There is also Ekko, a young man who at first seems frightening, but is seen to be growing very strong. In turn we meet Silco, a man who is capable of anything to achieve his goals, even if they are dirty methods, and finally the mysterious scientist Singed, which is known to do cruel experiments on living beings and in fact had one or another apprentice. These characters are set in the suburban district of Zaun, a city known for having extremely dangerous and violent people.

Por otra parte también nos presentan a Jayce, un joven científico que se convierte en consejero de su ciudad, él está acompañado por Viktor, otro científico proveniente de Zaun que ayuda a Jayce en el estudio del Hextech,ambos intentan descubrir los potenciales del mismo. Heimerdinger es un pequeño yordle con más de trescientos años de edad que ha aportado mucho en la ciencia de su ciudad, llegando a ser consejero e intentando darle límites al invento de Jayce y Viktor. Caitlyn es una chica la cual proviene de una poderosa familia, se convierte en vigilante pero su sed por conocer cosas nuevas y escapar de sus privilegios hace que quiera que se acabe la corrupción. Mel Medarda, una consejera que le da mucho apoyo a los dos científicos con el Hextech, pero se interesa más en Jayce. Por último tenemos a Marcus, un vigilante corrupto el cual trabaja para Silco. Estos personajes pertenecen a Piltover, la aclamada "ciudad del progreso" el cual le tiene miedo a lo diferente, sobre todo a los habitantes del distrito suburbano de Zaun.

He is accompanied by Viktor, another scientist from Zaun who helps Jayce in the study of Hextech, both are trying to discover its potential. Heimerdinger is a small yordle over three hundred years old who has contributed a lot to the science of his city, becoming an advisor and trying to give limits to Jayce and Viktor's invention. Caitlyn is a girl who comes from a powerful family, she becomes a vigilante but her thirst to know new things and escape from her privileges makes her want the corruption to end. Mel Medarda, a counselor who gives a lot of support to the two scientists with the Hextech, but is more interested in Jayce. Finally we have Marcus, a corrupt vigilante who works for Silco. These characters belong to Piltover, the acclaimed " progress city" which is afraid of what is different, especially the inhabitants of the suburban district of Zaun.

Estos personajes poseen una historia que poco a poco los van entrelazando entre sí a medida que la serie avanza. Los personajes principales (Vi, Porder/Jinx, Singed, Ekko, Jayce, Viktor y Caitlyn) representan a campeones pertenecientes al juego League of Legends, siguiendo el hilo de la historia original que nos quiere dar el juego. Para los que juegan LoL es bien conocido las relaciones que entrelazan a los personajes, si embargo nos explican muy bien porque cada personaje es como es y el origen de sus habilidades. Me parecer que la evolución de los personajes es muy bien lograda, desde la influencia del lugar que habitan hasta el desencadenante de sus acciones, como la locura de Jinx, las decisiones que toma Jayce ante el consejo, los experimentos extremos de Viktor y la rebeldía de Caitlyn hacia su familia.

This characters have a story that little by little intertwines them with each other as the series progresses. The main characters (Vi, Porder/Jinx, Singed, Ekko, Jayce, Viktor and Caitlyn) represent champions belonging to the game League of Legends, following the thread of the original story that the game wants to give us. For those who play LoL it is well known the relationships that intertwine the characters, however they explain very well why each character is the way he is and the origin of his abilities. I think that the evolution of the characters is very well achieved, from the influence of the place they inhabit to the trigger of their actions, such as Jinx's madness, the decisions made by Jayce before the council, Viktor's extreme experiments and Caitlyn's rebellion towards her family.

La animación de esta serie viene de mano de la casa animadora francesa Fortiche Productions y no puedo más que alabar la animación de esta serie. Los movimientos sumamente fluidos, el diseño de los personajes sumamente acorde al lore del juego, las expresiones faciales, la anatomía, todo está muy bien hecho. El diseño de vestuario en los personajes me encanta, podemos ver a Medarda por ejemplo, o a Jinx el cual sigue al pie de la letra el diseño del juego pero mostrándolo de manera muy genial en la animación. La ambientación de ambas ciudades es excepcional, como la ciudad de Piltover demuestra el orden e incluso la aristocracia que ahí habita junto con paletas decolores cálidas, mientras que la turbulenta ciudad de Zaun se ve oscura y colores fríos, mostrando los desastres que ahí se poseen. Las escenas de pelea y aventura son simplemente excepcionales, los cambios de escena y flashbacks son muy bien logrados y es todo un festín visual, definitivamente un gran apartado artístico.

The animation of this series comes from the French animation house Fortiche Productions and I can only praise the animation of this series. The movements are extremely fluid, the design of the characters very much in line with the lore of the game, the facial expressions, the anatomy, everything is very well done. I love the costume design of the characters, we can see Medarda for example, or Jinx which follows the design of the game to the letter but showing it in a very cool way in the animation. The setting of both cities is exceptional, as the city of Piltover shows the order and even the aristocracy that inhabits there along with warm color palettes, while the turbulent city of Zaun looks dark and cold colors, showing the disasters that exist there. The fight and adventure scenes are simply exceptional, the scene changes and flashbacks are very well done and it is a visual feast, definitely a great artistic section.

La banda sonora de Arcane me gustó, ya que logra el cometido de ayudarnos a estar en sintonía con la historia que se nos está contando. Toda la ambientación melódica de la serie viene de la mano de varios compositores en los que se nombran a: Cameron Stone, Adam Michalak, Alex Seaver, Jett Galindo, entre otros, pero el que más destaca es la banda Imagine Dragons los cuales han colaborado anteriormente con League of Legends. Esta serie posee varias canciones originales de la misma que se pueden conseguir en diferentes playlist. Su música puede ir entre rock, arreglos sinfónicos y hasta dubstep, lo cual me gusta ya que personalmente esos géneros me atraen mucho. Algo en lo que ha destacado Riot con anterioridad es en sacar temas originales del juego, inspirados en distintos campeones junto con videoclips, tal es el caso de "Get Jinxed" que es una canción que fue estrenada cuando su personaje fue lanzado como campeón en el juego, y tiene un videoclip que hizo que me enamorara de ese campeón cuando jugaba League of Legends. La banda sonora capta mucho la esencia de lo que es el juego, y la historia está muy bien ambientada melódicamente con canciones muy variadas, lo cual me agrada bastante.

I liked the soundtrack of Arcane, as it achieves the task of helping us to be in tune with the story we are being told. All the melodic ambience of the series comes from the hand of several composers in which are named: Cameron Stone, Adam Michalak, Alex Seaver, Jett Galindo, among others, but the one that stands out the most is the band Imagine Dragons which have previously collaborated with League of Legends. This series has several original songs that can be found in different playlists. Their music can go between rock, symphonic arrangements and even dubstep, which I like since personally those genres attract me a lot. Something in which Riot has previously excelled is in releasing original themes of the game, inspired by different champions along with video clips, such is the case of "Get Jinxed" which is a song that was released when his character was released as champion in the game, and has a video clip that made me fall in love with that champion when I played League of Legends. The soundtrack captures a lot of the essence of what the game is about, and the story is very well set melodically with very varied songs, which I quite like.

Arcane vino para quedarse, está muy bien evaluada por los críticos y es considerada una de las mejores adaptaciones de videojuegos. No es necesario haber jugado League of Legends para disfrutar esta serie, aunque puede que no se emocionen con algunos guiños considero que el hecho de no seguir la historia del juego hace que el factor sorpresa de la serie sea aún más grande, así que no importa si no estás al tanto con el juego. La historia va de una manera lineal muy buena, respondiendo algunas preguntas que nos vamos haciendo a medida que pasan los episodios. Empatizamos con cada personaje que aparece y llegamos a odiar a otros por las acciones o decisiones que toman, cosa que me parece increíble. Personalmente me gustó mucho esta serie y estoy ansiosa por la segunda temporada, esta serie incluso me hizo tener ganas de volver a jugar League of Legends, veamos si cedo. Recomiendo mucho esta serie si son fanáticos de los videojuegos, la animación y la acción.

Arcane is here to stay, it is highly rated by critics and is considered one of the best video game adaptations. It is not necessary to have played League of Legends to enjoy this series, although you may not be thrilled with some winks I consider that the fact of not following the story of the game makes the surprise factor of the series even bigger, so it does not matter if you are not up to date with the game. The story goes in a very good linear way, answering some questions that we ask ourselves as the episodes go by. We empathize with each character that appears and come to hate others for the actions or decisions they take, which I find amazing. Personally I really liked this series and I'm anxious for the second season, this series even made me feel like playing League of Legends again, let's see if I give in. I highly recommend this series if you are fans of video games, animation and action.

Previously I had the opportunity to talk about this new series in particular, which has had a great reception by the public, both by the League of legends community as well as a new audience and away from such community, which only intruded by the mere fact of enjoying the plot and give it a chance. On that occasion I took the liberty to give my first impressions and opinion before the first 3 chapters, chapters of which are considered as "acts" and came out on the Netflix platform 3 each week, now that I have recently seen today particularly the last act, I would like to give my opinion in general before the series itself, already having a much broader and more concrete vision with all this considering that it has been concluded.

I really have many things to address, more good than bad to everything I could witness and the truth was very excited to touch this topic again, as I felt that if I did not do it and leave it this way I would feel incomplete on my part, and by presenting this I can fulfill and close this cycle for the moment to this project by Riot Games, project that personally I really hope to bring out more in the near future, but later but on various areas related to the vast lore of the world of League of legends or Runeterra, so without further ado let's start.

Anteriormente tuve la oportunidad de hablar sobre esta nueva serie en particular, la cual ha tenido una gran recepción por el público, sea por parte de la comunidad de League of legends así como un público nuevo y alejado de tal comunidad, que solo se inmiscuyeron por el mero hecho de disfrutar la trama y darle una oportunidad. En aquella ocasión me tome la libertad de dar mis primeras impresiones y opinión ante los primeros 3 capítulos, capítulos de los cuales se les considera como "actos" y salían en la plataforma de Netflix 3 cada semana, ahora que recientemente eh visto hoy particularmente el último acto, me gustaría brindar mi opinión en general ante la serie en sí, ya teniendo una visión mucho más amplia y concreta con todo esto considerando que se ha concluido.

Realmente tengo muchas cosas de las cuales abordar, mas buenas que malas ante todo lo que pude presenciar y la verdad estaba muy emocionado por tocar este tema nuevamente, ya que sentía que si no lo hacía y lo dejaba así lo sentiría incompleto de mi parte, ya al presentarles esto podre cumplir y cerrar este ciclo por los momentos ante este proyecto por parte de Riot Games, proyecto que en lo personal realmente espero que saquen mas en un futuro cercano, mas adelante pero sobre diversas áreas vinculadas al basto lore del mundo de League of legends o Runaterra, así que sin mas preámbulo comencemos.

Arcane is considered a series created by the Riot Games team, based on certain areas of the League of Legends universe, this series was announced when the anniversary event of the 10 years of the franchise was held as a space commemoration. It is being animated by the studio fortiche productions, in the country of France, specifically in Paris. Synopsis / Sinopsis
After the events in the first act which involves chapters 1, 2 and 3 our protagonists Vi and Jinx (Powder) had to adapt to certain situations in order to survive being separated from each other, which in a way have marked them considerably by social, cultural and personal factors that triggered their current situation, however to meet and fix things will have to go through certain difficult situations, of which one of them more than another is directly responsible for certain actions, which could cause repercussions even in both cities.

And on the other hand in Piltover we are shown considerable progress, due to the use of certain magical and scientific implements that ensure a promise of peace, a promise that will be more difficult to think about than to make, and could cause collateral effects if it falls into the wrong hands.

Después de los acontecimientos en el primer acto el cual inmiscuye los capítulos 1, 2 y 3 nuestras protagonistas Vi y Jinx (Powder) tuvieron que adaptarse ante ciertas situaciones para poder subsistir estando estas separadas la una de la otra, las cuales de cierta forma las han marcado considerablemente tanto por factores sociales, culturales y también personales que desencadenaron su actual situación, sin embargo para poder encontrase y arreglar las cosas tendrán que pasar ciertas situaciones difíciles, de las cuales una de ellas más que otra es responsable directa sobre ciertas acciones, que podría causar repercusiones incluso en ambas ciudades.

Y por otra parte en Piltover se nos muestra el progreso considerable, debido al uso de ciertos implementos mágicos y científicos que aseguran una promesa de paz, una promesa que será mas difícil pensarla que hacerla, y podría causar efectos colaterales si esta cae en manos equivocadas.

Personal opinion / Opinión personal
In the old post in which I talked about my first impressions of this series, I talked specifically in detail but not so extensive about certain factors related to social classes, architecture, culture shock, setting, etc. and especially the lifestyle, many factors were present that excited me a lot because being a somewhat inactive player but already informed about the lore that represents the game in question, to see this kind of characteristics presented in the series so well I liked it a lot, from now on I would like to touch certain things related to emotional, moral and legal aspects because these are the things that give a significant weight to the development of our characters, and even more when there is a clash and social distancing.

First seeing the development of the sisters, both Vi and Jinx, was very satisfying at plot level but also a little sad, because personally in the game and in the lore they were presented with a very marked and striking behavior, but now understanding much better the background of both, it is quite sad, I feel that the one who was more affected is Jinx to feel inferior and betrayed according to her perception as well as the role she took, the transition as well as the process that she shows to become what she is, is quite raw and seeing the final result leaves you very sensitive in the background, what I can say with all this is that in this case they were only victims of the circumstances. En el antiguo post del cual hable sobre mis primeras impresiones de esta serie, hable en concreto de forma detallada pero no tan extensa sobre ciertos factores vinculados a las clases sociales, la arquitectura, el choque cultural, ambientación, etc y sobre todo el estilo de vida, estuvieron presente muchos factores que me emocionaron mucho ya que siendo un jugador algo inactivo pero ya informado sobre el lore que representa el juego en cuestión, ver este tipo de características presentadas en la serie tan bien me gusto bastante, a partir de ahora me gustaría tocar ciertas cosas vinculadas a aspectos emocionales, morales y legales porque son estas cosas las que les dan un peso significativo al desenvolvimiento de nuestros personajes, y más aun cuando está presente un choque y distanciamiento social.

Primero ver el desarrollo de las hermanas tanto Vi como Jinx, fue muy satisfactorio a nivel de trama pero también un poco triste, ya que en lo personal en el juego y en el lore se nos presentaban con una conducta muy marcada y llamativa, pero ahora entendiendo muchísimo mejor el trasfondo de ambas, es bastante triste, siento que la que salió más afectada es Jinx al sentirse inferior y traicionada según su percepción así como el papel que tomo, la transición así como el proceso que esta muestra para convertirse en lo que es, es bastante crudo y ver el resultado final te deja muy sensible en el fondo, lo que puedo decir con todo esto es que en este caso solo fueron víctimas de las circunstancias. También está un cambio presente en Vi moldeando su postura en pro de proteger a su hermana y adaptándose a ello con su personalidad y visión tan característica, pero sin dejar de ser ella en esencia a pesar de a ver cambiado en comparación con Jinx la cual toma una transición más significativa.

Ver como la situación se agrava de manera desmesurada lentamente en Piltover y lo que se conoce como Zaun es bastante fuerte, por una parte se quiere control y seguridad y por otra se quiere independizar y aceptación, las altas clases sociales no quieren hacerse del todo tan responsables, ya que catalogan a ese conjunto de personas con una mala imagen, muy generalizado si me lo preguntan y los Zaunitas están así por una cuestión de adaptabilidad ante tal rechazo, me gusto mucho como se desenlazo ese tipo de escenarios, también podemos notar lo que son capaces de hacer unos cuantos con tal de sobrevivir.

Nuestros cientificos Jayce y Viktor, tendrán que pasar una travesía muy ardua entre sus metas y sueños así como su su ego y confort, uno más que otro notándose un paralelismo muy fuerte entre ambos, un paralelismo ligado a una meta en conjunto que con el tiempo se vuelve más estrecha y de la cual se alejan, sea por el afán de las situaciones vinculadas a la ciudad o solo por sobrevivir. Realmente en este apartado quede muy satisfecho considerando a que se desenvolvería todo esto a lo que es actualmente en el lore.

Espero encarecidamente que se elaboren mas proyectos de esta índole, fue un final fuerte, pero que también abre posibilidades a otros escenarios, escenarios de los cuales asumo que se tomaran luego para hacerse y llevarse a cabo, considerando la enorme recepción ante esta entrega, estaré esperando con ansias. Y con esto termino completamente con Arcane, si se da la posibilidad de otras series a futuras pues con gusto las veré. Curioso al parecer no estuvo presente algo que me disgustara eh intento ser lo más objetivo con esto, quizás algunos comportamientos de ciertos personajes de los cuales no mencionare pero de resto todo genial como ya mencione, gracias por llegar hasta aquí y hasta la próxima.

Super Short TV Show Review

It's been a long time since I've seen such a visually, musically, and dramatically captivating show that captures class warfare, personal and family trauma, political corruption, and practical but stylish applications of fantastical elements of magic and futuristic science-fiction technology. Netflix released this series first season in three-episode arcs, which recaptured my attention after every weekly hiatus and proved to me that the next evolution--or elevation--of quality animated storytelling isn't the abandonment of 2D-art for CGI but the careful and thoughtful blending of both.

Final Grade

A* (* I want to give the series an A+ but I have yet to see the first season's final three episodes so at this time, if the final three episodes prove awful, I feel at solid A is fitting. I will update this accordingly if the show's first season ends with equal or greater quality than the start and middle of the season. 11/19/2021)

Final Notes

I wonder if the animated medium is the only artistic arena moving forward still open to risky, new, and unique storytelling. "Arcane" is based on a video game, "League of Legends," that I am only vaguely aware of -- but this makes me wonder if the mainstream movie and TV industry can be rescued from its recent history of repetitive trash if it were directed to mine for quality storytelling within the ever-growing video-game worlds.

(Here's to praying for a super awesome animated Splinterlands show in ten years time -- fingerscrossed!)

Lleva un año o mas que ya no juego League of Legends, aunque si han visto algunos de mis últimos posts si me he dedicado a jugar Legends of Runaterra (la versión de cartas del universo de League of Legends) y la razón por la que lo he dejado de jugar no es porque este cansado de su comunidad tóxica, sino que simplemente no tengo computadora donde jugarlo.

Y al ver Arcane ha hecho que desee con mas ganas el poder volver a jugar LoL algún dia de nuevo (aunque ya ando mas desintoxicado así que tal vez ya no con la misma emoción). Y es que desde hace unos años por fin Riot Games le ha estado poniendo orden al universo de su franquicia, que despues de varios años de actualizar el lore, borrar historias y recrearlas nuevamente hacen que estas comiencen a tener sentido.

En primer lugar lo vemos con el juego de Legends of Runaterra que con la gran cantidad de cartas por fin podemos ver quien esta aparte de los campeones de su franquicia personal e incluso el querer ver varias de esas cartas como campeones también.

Y con ahora su serie de Arcane nos ha confirmado uno de los rumores de los que llevamos jugando por mucho tiempo, el que Vi y Jinx son hermanas. Pero no solo es el hecho de que nos confirmen uno de los rumores que todos pensábamos, sino que además lo hacen con un nivel de calidad que queda con lujo de detalle, sin mencionar los "easter egg" que nos hacen visualizar (como que el escurridizo se venda en el mercado o lo que parecen ser las mascaras de Jhin).

El detalle y la cronología de eventos se han puesto bien, saber que lo que ocasionan Vi y Jinx perjudicaron a Caitlyn, Jayce, Victor, Singed y quien sabe que otros personajes se encuentran alrededor y los que están por aparecer.

Eso si, por lo general yo no soy de decir "véanlo en el doblaje original porque es mucho mejor", sin embargo en este caso tengo que decirlo, pues ciertas frases se pierden en su doblaje en latino, que eso si, el doblaje esta muy bien hecho, pero lamentablemente se pierden algunas palabras, como el hecho de que Jinx se llame de esa forma.

Apenas van 3 capitulos de la serie y ya supero a "El juego de Calamar" como la serie mas mirada de Netflix en estos momentos y es que es mas que obvio, League of Legends es un juego de los que mayor se hacen streaming y que se juega en todo el mundo, pero en este caso Netflix ha entregado un producto de calidad y no le ha quedado nada mal a los fans de la franquicia.

Y es que no tienes que hacer un live action para adaptar un videojuego a una serie, (aunque Sonic lo hizo bien), si no la idea es que conozcan el público al que se lo estás dirigiendo y no el hecho de hacerlo solo por hacerlo y el dinero que deja en el proceso (verdad franquicia de peliculas de Resident Evil).

Arcane es una serie que le gustara a los fanaticos del videojuego, sin embargo que al mismo tiempo es una buena serie para los que no saben nada del mismo, eso si, para los que nunca han jugado el videojuego, no esperen la gran cosa. Recuerden que League of Legends es simplemente un MOBA de cinco vs cinco, pero lo que le da el plus es el universo que se ha construido alrededor de él.

I was very excited since the presentation of this project by Riot Games a few months ago, and in my case being a player not as active in League of Legends as before, but with a particular taste for the development that accompany the characters and environments specifically in the game, to be more exact its lore, my surprise and happiness as you can imagine were present. In this particular case we can see the past and significant background of some important figures of the franchise such as Jinx, Caitling, Vi, Viktor, Jayce, etc. those people with a basic notion of the game will understand a little at first instance what I mean, there are so many things I want to talk about and detail calmly but I will have the opportunity to do so, when it is time to expose my final opinion on my first impression of these first 3 episodes.

I feel that in my opinion, this series can fulfill its function and can draw attention either for the public linked to the famous video game based on a Moba (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), and that public that has no notion of what happens, but I feel that will engage them significantly with the factors that give to present as the setting, architecture, society and culture that I will expose in more detail later, so it will be a pleasure for me in this case to talk about Arcane, and for now its first 3 episodes or first act.

Estuve muy emocionado desde la presentación sobre este proyecto por parte de Riot Games hace unos meses atrás, y en mi caso siendo un jugador no tan activo en League of Legends como antes, pero si con un gusto particular por parte del desarrollo que acompañan a los personajes y ambientes en especifico en el juego, para ser más exactos su lore, mi sorpresa y felicidad como se habrán de imaginar se hicieron presentes. En este caso en particular podemos ver el pasado y trasfondo significativo de algunas figuras importantes de la franquicia como son el caso de Jinx, Caitling, Vi, Viktor, Jayce, etc aquellas personas con una noción básica del juego podrán entender un poco a primera instancia a lo que me refiero, hay tantas cosas de las que quiero hablar y detallar con calma pero ya tendré oportunidad para ello, cuando toque exponer mi opinión final sobre mi primera impresión ante estos 3 primeros episodios.

Siento que a mi parecer, esta serie podrá cumplir su función y podrá llamar la atención ya sea para el publico ligado al famoso videojuego basado en un Moba (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), y aquel publico que no tiene noción ante lo que ocurre, pero siento que les enganchara de forma significativa con los factores que dan a presentar como la ambientación, arquitectura, sociedad y cultura que expondré con mas a detalle luego, así que será un placer para mí en este caso hablar de Arcane, y por ahora sus primeros 3 episodios o primer acto.

Arcane is considered a series created by the Riot Games team, based on certain areas of the League of Legends universe, this series was announced when the anniversary event of the 10 years of the franchise was held as a space commemoration. Being this animated by the studio fortiche productions, in the country of France specifically in Paris. Synopsis / Sinopsis

Después de algunos sucesos parecidos a un conflicto civil, que se salió de control por parte de las autoridades de la ciudad de Piltover y habitantes de la sección subterránea de Zaun, una muy joven Vi así como Powder (Jinx) sin lugar a donde ir después de las repercusiones de tal conflicto, son acogidas y cuidadas por un hombre llamado Vander. Más adelante podemos presenciar como estas dos han crecido un poco más, y se aventuran con un grupo de amigos hacia la zona central de la ciudad Piltover, para buscar cosas de valor y poder vender en Zaun, sin embargo debido a ciertos acontecimientos en su peligrosa búsqueda, se formaran repercusiones que las seguirán no solo a ellas, si no a otros en mayor escala inmiscuyéndolos en algo mucho mayor y más significativo así como peligroso.

I am so excited and pleased for this introduction and denouement in this short period of time with these 3 episodes, really personally they fulfilled all my expectations and of course what remains to be seen when the other remaining episodes come out, I am very excited because as the plot was unraveling, I could notice factors linked to the characters in question and the environment that I am already aware and have a solid notion in the game directed to the background of each one, I could notice factors linked to the characters in question and the environment that I am already aware of and I have a solid notion in the game directed to the background of each one, it was inevitable not to get excited, but I will calm down a little and I will go part by part breaking down all this, to give a more structured opinion let's start with the animation.

The animation in this series, for me was quite solid, enjoys a light 3d modeling that accompanies all the characters and I did not feel it badly distributed or uncomfortable visually, accompanied by vivid colors and other darker and colder or neutral, depending on the environment in which we find ourselves, In this aspect such section I quite liked even in those small details that adorn the structures, the characters and their clothes or tools, it is also inevitable to go unnoticed very small details that are present within the game, and in addition to this the noticeable differences in each city so to speak.

The architecture and ambience are beautiful and we can notice this social and cultural difference in both cities at first instance, we also see it reflected in the behavior of people, mainly in figures of high rank as they can become the inhabitants of Piltover being this a utopian city, representing figures attached to the improvement and mechanical or industrialized growth, or Zaun being the opposite making more reference to the remote and dangerous suburbs in which it is a daily battle to be noticed and survive, considering it a harsh and hostile environment, each notorious social and cultural difference in behavior eh idea for me was beautiful.

Regarding the characters, I will not do much detail about this because I do not want to give spoilers of the plot, I would just like to say that the background and growth of each one is unique, now I understand a little better why they are like that and what history has formed them to be the figures they are today, in the game, of course for now that's what we have been shown. Next week will be released on the Netflix platform, the second batch that will consist of 3 chapters again being those 4, 5 and 6 and then so, after that week until the last 3 and finish this series that at first glance I found very good and of course, I will make my review and opinion to the remaining two acts. And with this ends my review I hope you liked it and give the series a chance, without more to say until next time.

Estoy tan emocionado y complacido por esta introducción y desenlace en este corto periodo de tiempo con estos 3 episodios, realmente en lo personal cumplieron todas mis expectativas y claro lo que falta ver cuando salgan los otros episodios restantes, estoy muy emocionado porque a medida de que la trama se desenlazaba, podría notar factores ligados a los personajes en cuestión y el ambiente que ya de por estoy al tanto y tengo una noción solida en el juego dirigido al trasfondo de cada uno, era inevitable no emocionarme, pero me calmare un poco eh iré parte por parte desglosando todo esto, para dar una opinión mas estructurada comencemos con la animación.

La animación en esta serie, para mi estuvo bastante solida, goza de un ligero modelado 3d que acompaña a todos los personajes y no la sentí mal distribuida o incomoda visualmente, acompañada por colores vivaces y otros más oscuros y fríos o neutrales, dependiendo del ambiente en el que nos encontremos, en este aspecto tal apartado me gusto bastante incluso en aquellos pequeños detalles que adornan las estructuras, los personajes y sus vestimentas o herramientas, es también inevitable pasar desapercibido muy pequeños detalles que se encuentran presentes dentro del juego, y además de ello las diferencias notorias en cada ciudad por así decirlo.

La arquitectura y ambientación son hermosas podemos notar esta diferencia social y cultural por ambas ciudades a primera instancia, lo vemos también reflejado en el comportamiento de las personas, principalmente en figuras de alta alcurnia como lo pueden llegar a ser los habitantes de Piltover siendo esta una ciudad utópica, representando figuras apegadas al mejoramiento y crecimiento mecánico o industrializado, o Zaun siendo lo opuesto haciendo más referencia a los suburbios recónditos y peligrosos en el cual es una batalla diaria para poder hacerse notar y sobrevivir, considerándolo un ambiente duro y hostil, cada notoria diferencia sea social y cultural en comportamiento eh idea para mí fue hermoso.

Con respecto a los personajes, no hare mucho detalles sobre esto porque no quiero dar spoilers de la trama, solo me gustaría decir que el trasfondo y crecimiento de cada uno es único, ahora entiendo un poco mejor el porqué son así y que historia les ha formado para ser las figuras que son hoy en día, en el juego, claro por ahora eso es lo que se nos ha mostrado. La próxima semana sacaran en la plataforma de Netflix, la segunda tanda que constara con 3 capítulos nuevamente siendo esos el 4, 5 y 6 y luego así, después de esa semana hasta llegar a los últimos 3 y terminar esta serie que a primera instancia me pareció muy buena y claro, le hare mi reseña y opinión a los dos actos restantes. Y con esto termina mi reseña espero haya sido de su agrado y le den una oportunidad a la serie, sin mas que decir hasta la próxima.
