Starting the week of the most terrifying for this community, I want to talk about a work that went unnoticed because of how dark and scary it is. With a total of 25 episodes that you can watch on Prime Video, this animated series by OLM studio is based on the original manga created by Kenichi Kondō. Although the horror genre is one of the least popular in the world of anime, this work reminds us that there is still life and good material to enjoy, especially if we are fans of this genre.

Plot
The anime introduces us to Keitarō Gentōga, a boy who has a serious problem with spirits, which always get close to him. After causing trouble to his loved ones because of his curse, he decides to withdraw from society and lock himself in his house, with no contact with the outside world. However, his best friend, Eiko Hōzuki, helps him to recover and fight against his curse, while looking for a job to help him rejoin society.
Said private tutoring job leads him to meet Eiko's cousin, Yayoi Hōzuki, a girl who is just going to elementary school. She has a visual ability that helps her see the spirits around her. But, that's not all, she also possesses a deep fascination for ghost stories and is used to go "spirit hunting" at night to catch, torture and collect them. Now, Keitarō will be forced by both her best friend, who is also a lover of ghost stories, and her small but terrifying cousin to go in search of both terrifying and very dangerous beings.

Far from being a "masterpiece" of horror, it serves very much as a distraction from everything we are used to seeing in this huge anime industry full of fantasy, action, ecchi and comedy. I mention this because surely this anime's strange combination of horror, suspense and adventure makes it a work that is not for everyone. Only a few lovers will be able to enjoy how good this anime is in terms of visual horror, sound effects, moments of high tension and creatures or beings that tell stories that will not let us sleep for a long time.
This is an anime that combines so many elements in a single story full of nighttime adventures and terrifying that can leave you with your eyes open all night long. A boy who lives in terror and with whom we can easily identify, with the company of a girl who appears to be an innocent being but is actually a complete monster, at least to the spirits she captures. A form of "Ghostbusters" somewhat in the Japanese style with certain inspirations and references to the genius of the master Junji Ito (referring to the creatures that exist in this anime) with a touch of suspense and horror as they themselves know how to do.

Lejos de ser una “obra maestra” del terror, sirve mucho como un distractor de todo lo que acostumbramos a ver en esta enorme industria del anime repleto de fantasía, acción, ecchi y comedia. Esto lo menciono ya que seguramente la extraña combinación que tiene este anime de terror, suspenso y aventura la hace una obra que no es para todo el mundo. Solo pocos amantes podrán disfrutar de lo bueno que es este anime en cuanto a horror visual, efectos de sonido, momentos de alta tensión y criaturas o seres que cuentan historias que no nos dejarán dormir por un buen tiempo.
Este es un anime que combina tantos elementos en una sola historia repleta de aventuras nocturnas y aterradoras que te pueden dejar con los ojos abiertos toda la noche. Un chico que vive aterrado y con el que fácilmente nos podemos identificar, con la compañía de una niña que aparenta ser un ser inocente pero que en realidad es un completo monstruo, al menos para los espíritus que ella captura. Una forma de “Cazafantasmas” un tanto al estilo japonés con ciertas inspiraciones y referencias de la genialidad del maestro Junji Ito (refiriéndome a las criaturas que existen en este anime) con un toque de suspenso y horror como ellos mismos saben hacer.

While it is true that the horror genre makes it an anime that is not for all audiences, with this we will add both the characters and the story that the series tells us. Let's keep in mind that we are talking about an anime that at some point we can laugh at some scene or another, but from one moment to another we end up completely disturbed with spirits that are out of a completely unbalanced mind. Terrifying beings that are born from the very evil of man, angels that seek to hunt humans, gods that fight against completely terrifying demons, creatures that feed on people's fear as well as on the very bodies they leave behind, all this and much more is what we will find in this animated work.
Personally, as a fan of the horror genre and works as spectacular as those of Junji Ito, enjoying this anime has been an adventure into a world as disturbing as hell itself, but on earth. While it is true that you can get bored in certain chapters, the series will make sure that you stay alert and completely attentive to each chapter as it has a plot and twists that easily catch you and that can amaze you and at the same time traumatize you for life, without exaggerating (I who have seen many things traumatized me with one of its strongest chapters).
Personally, I give it a 9/10 rating for the horror, suspense and adventure genre.

Si bien es cierto que el género del terror lo hace un anime que no es para todo el público, con esto vamos a sumar tanto los personajes como la historia que nos cuenta dicha serie. Tengamos en cuenta que estamos hablando de un anime que en cierto momento nos podemos reír por alguna que otra escena, pero que de un momento a otro terminamos completamente perturbados con espíritus que son salidos de una mente completamente desequilibrada. Seres aterradores que nacen de la misma maldad del hombre, ángeles que buscan cazar humanos, dioses que luchan contra demonios completamente aterradores, criaturas que se alimentan tanto del miedo de la gente como de los mismos cuerpos que estos dejan, todo esto y mucho más es lo que encontraremos en esta obra animada.
En lo personal, como fanático del género del terror y de obras tan espectaculares como los de Junji Ito, disfrutar de este anime ha sido toda una aventura hacia un mundo tan perturbador como el mismo infierno, pero en la misma tierra. Si bien es cierto que te puedes aburrir en ciertos capítulos, la serie se asegurará de que te mantengas al pendiente y completamente atento a cada capítulo ya que posee una trama y giros que te atrapan fácilmente y que te pueden maravillar y a la vez traumar de por vida, sin exagerar (yo que he visto muchas cosas me traumó con uno de sus capítulos más fuertes).
Personalmente, le doy una calificación de 9/10 en lo que respecta al género del terror, suspenso y aventura.
