Film Review: Deadpool 2 (2018)@drax287d
Deadpool, the film adaptation of one of Marvel’s more obscure comics, became one of the most pleasant surprises for comic enthusiasts two years ago, at a time when Hollywood’s quality offerings have increasingly satisfied fans both on the big and small screens. The film, much like its source material, flipped the concept of the masked superhero and transformed it into a black-humoured meta self-parody, achieving unexpected success with both audiences and critics. As has often been the case in similar situations, this prompted the inevitable sequel. Naturally, Deadpool 2 became the subject of immense anticipation—and considerable apprehension, the latter owing to numerous disappointing experiences with follow-ups that consistently failed to preserve the spirit and quality of the originals. This phenomenon was further reinforced by Marvel’s own cinematic and television output, with perhaps the most regrettable example being Kick-Ass 2, a film thematically and stylistically akin to Deadpool. Fears that *Deadpool 2 *might suffer the same fate intensified when news broke that Tim Miller, director of the original film, had left the project during production and was replaced by David Leitch, known for action hits such as John Wick and Atomic Blonde.
Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool’s lead actor and co-screenwriter, once again joined the writing and production team and reprised his role as Wade Wilson, a former special forces operative who gained superhuman abilities through a secret experiment that disfigured him and drove him to operate under the Deadpool alias. The plot begins as he attempts to reconcile his merciless career as a crime-fighter with his desire to settle down and find domestic bliss with his beloved girlfriend Vanessa (Morena Baccarin). However, tragedy strikes when Vanessa is killed, leaving Deadpool so devastated that he contemplates suicide. At this critical moment, his old X-Men acquaintances—Colossus (Stefan Kapičić) and Teenage Negasonic Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand)—intervene and successfully recruit him into their ranks. During one such mission, Deadpool encounters Russell Collins, a mutated and “troubled” teenager known as “Firefist” (Julian Dennison). After Deadpool helps Russell kill one of his tormentors, they end up in a special prison for mutants. There, they discover they are being hunted by a cyborg soldier from the future named Cable (Josh Brolin), and learn that Russell, once grown, will become a destructive homicidal maniac. Deadpool resolves to prevent this outcome and assembles a team of eccentric mutants called “X-Force.”
Although the production of Deadpool 2 was marked by numerous mishaps and setbacks both on and off set—including the death of a stuntwoman and sexual harassment allegations against actor T. J. Miller, which nearly led to his character Weasel being cut from the film—it is likely that crafting the screenplay caused the most frustration. Reynolds and his colleagues faced a challenge common to many superhero sequels: how to construct a compelling narrative after the origin story, which is typically the most fascinating part of any saga. Their solution centred on the protagonist’s attempt to build a family—first with his girlfriend, then as the guardian of a troubled boy in whom he sees a reflection of himself—despite the absurdity and tragicomedy of his situation. Consequently, Deadpool 2, like its predecessor, dances dangerously close to typical Hollywood sentimentality but consistently pulls back to deliver audiences a dose of slapstick bloodshed, dark humour, and numerous references to contemporary pop culture.
The cast is excellent, led by Reynolds, who clearly relishes what could easily become the defining role of his career. New Zealander Julian Dennison, whose physique and appearance starkly contrast the conventional image of a modern superhero protagonist, also delivers a strong performance and stands out among an ensemble portraying a series of memorable characters—many of whom meet spectacularly violent ends shortly after their introduction. A major asset of the film is also Leitch’s direction, which, despite today’s reliance on CGI, places far greater emphasis on straightforward action and humour, resorting to flashy cinematography only sparingly. The title sequence particularly shines, blending a James Bond parody with self-referential commentary on the film itself. Perhaps most crucially, the creators succeeded in keeping Deadpool 2 under two hours, making it significantly tighter and more digestible than most other Marvel adaptations. This brevity will likely lead audiences to forgive even the typically sloppy and uninspired final showdown, which contains too many unnecessary scenes and too little humour. The film’s impression is further salvaged by a clever resolution presented in scenes during the closing credits, granting the protagonist the longed-for happy ending while giving fans solid hope for yet another strong sequel.
RATING: 7/10 (+++)

Hello everyone. I hope you are doing great, it's a pleasure to be here again for the Movies and TV Shows community... And today I want to continue telling you about the fun trip that was watching the Deadpool movies, once again, I decided to make this journey through the Deadpool movies to prepare myself to see the third part soon... today I will talk about what I thought and my opinions about the movie Deadpool 2. This movie once again brings us the charismatic Ryan Reynolds putting on once again the red and black suit, as I told you in my previous review, it seems that this actor was born for the role.... Every line, every gesture, every look... this actor nails it all with a spectacular interpretation of the irreverent mercenary...
The movie starts off pretty strong and doesn't give you a break, in the first minutes of the film we see something really heartbreaking that will define our protagonist like never before, to see this kind of impact at the very beginning of the movie I think it makes it very clear how amazingly well written it is... Afterwards, as we are talking about Deadpool, there follows a bombardment of constant jokes, references and action... although sometimes it may seem that the film exaggerates with the jokes unlike the first one, in my opinion I think they are not out of place, the screenwriters know how to take everything to the extreme but surprisingly this works out well... This movie feels more "stupid" than the previous one, but that doesn't mean it's not good... there are some more serious and somber touches that I'm thankful they managed to include...
One of the things I liked the most about this second part is that they managed to place emotional moments in specific places that manage to touch your heart, there are scenes that really catch you off guard and, even if you are careless, can bring a tear to your eye.... I mean, even though the story treats itself as a joke at times, it manages to touch you as well... and this is a balance that is really hard to achieve because, mostly in movies that are meant for comedy only, it's very hard to take them as something thoughtful... But this is not the case since, even with Deadpool's silliness, there is some emotional emphasis within this whole second story, obviously it comes off because of the event I already mentioned to you above.
As for the new characters, I quite liked the introduction of Cable, played by actor Josh Brolin, by the way, in case you haven't noticed, Josh Brolin also played Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, in the Infinity War and Endgame movies.. so this actor already had some experience characterizing comic book characters, and I think he really manages to give a very interesting twist to every performance he does.... In this occasion, his chemistry with Ryan Reynolds is very good, their interactions are some of the best parts of the movie.. that touch of seriousness and sometimes somber and unfeeling attitude, contrasts in a special way with the great charisma and childish personality of Deadpool... Talking about the other new character they introduced in this new movie, we have Domino, I found her to be a really interesting character.. she gives an energy to her scenes that make them really fun and enjoyable to watch, her power of luck I found very ingenious...
I really didn't have much contact with this character from the comics and I found her context quite interesting and how she manages to always have that good luck that characterizes them.. these three characters work really well together. As for the action, obviously this movie has even better choreographed scenes than the previous film, there really is a lot of passion in the action scenes... it feels like a superhero movie, both for the explosions and the adrenaline... all this accompanied by an acid humor that goes great...
Some things I didn't like about this second part were some jokes, although they are very few, there were certain hooks that didn't really make me laugh.... It's very different from the first movie because most of the jokes were funny to me.... But here, if I start counting, there are a total of about 15 or maybe more jokes that didn't really make me laugh, it's something that I found curious, but it can depend on each person, of course... I should also mention that Cable doesn't end up developing as I would have liked, I think he lacked a little more depth and screen time... I would have liked to see him more in depth and know more about the future he's coming from... But these are very small details, overall, it's a tremendously entertaining movie... It's a sequel that feels very original and refreshing, it keeps everything that caused so many people to love the first one... All the humor and mockery towards pop culture is still present, also the constant breaking of the fourth wall makes the viewer feel very connected to the character...
I have to mention again the soundtrack, they keep adding songs in a very ingenious way, that go perfectly with the emotional or action moments, and can even make you laugh a lot... It's a sequel that, like few others, I feel it didn't manage to surpass its predecessor, but that doesn't mean it's less than this one... I feel it's more daring, and in some moments it has its flaws, but they are forgivable when you see how much it can entertain you... I think if you liked the first movie, you'll like this one too! It's the kind of movie that's ideal to watch when there's not much to do, and as I tell you, these Deadpool movies are so funny, that no matter when you watch them, they will surely bring a smile to your face....
I would give it a rating of 8.5/10. It has a lot of action that certainly leaves you wanting more, at the time of watching it really met my expectations... it's irreverent, with a lot of black humor, a lot of crazy situations... It's everything a fan of absurd humor and action is looking for. I'm sure if you haven't seen it, and as I say, you want to see a movie that makes you laugh and get excited, this is the perfect choice. I think if you haven't seen the first movie, it really isn't too necessary to do so to fully enjoy this one, it is a sequel that works very well on its own.... Sure you might not understand some small references, but I think the experience will be just as good, I recommend you to stay at the end of the credits.. it's really worth it... And well, I hope you are well. I will see you in the next reviews... soon I will bring you my opinion about the third movie... Take care, bye bye.

Conclusion ?
Hello, how are you all? We got to see Deadpool as a completely different lead character in the X-Men series as a comedic action hero, which really turned all the important moments of the movie into funny moments. You must have seen and enjoyed the movie Deadpool. The interesting movie of the 12th episode of the X-Men series can be seen through today's presentation.
Today's movie is seen as a continuation from the end of the previous Deadpool movie. We saw at the end of the Deadpool movie that Deadpool and Vanessa were going to start their new lives together. After that, for 2 years Deadpool is working as a mercenary gangster and he misses killing one of his jobs. As a result, the man attacked Deadpool's house with his men and Vanessa was killed there. As a result, Deadpool attempts to commit suicide but fails, and Colossus returns to the mansion with his dismembered body.
Having super mutant powers, Deadpool becomes his old self again and goes on a mission with Colossus, which features a different school of mutants and one of the movie's new characters, the mutant Rusty Collins. Let us introduce you to today's interesting and mysterious excellent action movie.
Today's interesting movie is called “Deadpool-2” and this wonderful movie is directed by David Leitch. Deadpool 2 movie was released for us on May 18, 2018, its IMDB rating (7.7 out of 10) shows how popular the movie was with the audience. As I also liked the movie, I will rate the movie 4 out of 5. The duration of the movie is nicely timed to just 2 hours, so that the audience will not get any boring feeling while watching it.
In the Deadpool 2 movie we get to see Ryan Reynolds do a great job as Juggernaut and Deadpool, while we get to see Rusty Collins' ferocity as the child villain as the next main character in the movie. Moreover, Eddie Marsan has done a great job as the headmaster of the mutant school. Also we have Colossus, Yukio and Whistle of the X-Men team doing great action in the movie.
1) The scene where Wade or Deadpool repeatedly meets and talks to his wife in the afterlife even from Jeebeet.2) Deadpool attempts to commit suicide by blaming himself for his wife's death and his comedic scenes.3) The scene of Deadpool working as a mercenary thug instead of joining the X-Men team.4) A Future Soldier named Cabal attempts to kill S. Rusty Collins in the past and why.5) Learning about New Child Mutant character Rusty Collins' desire to take revenge by killing his school's headmaster and wanting to stay in jail.6) Deadpool talking to his wife in the afterlife and finding out about helping Rusty as his current job.7) The events that save Rusty from becoming a future murderer.8) Rusty befriends the most powerful mutant Juggernaut to complete his revenge and the two of them go to kill the Headmaster together.9) Illustration of Rusty's future as a wonderful guardian to Deadpool or Wade Wilson.10) The scene where the loved one accepts death himself to return to Vanessa's house.
In the movie, we first see Vanessa shot dead by a terrorist on the night of Deadpool's wedding anniversary, and Deadpool kills the terrorist but then tries to kill himself by detonating a bomb. This causes Deadpool's body to be dismembered and Colossus arrives and rushes all of Deadpool's corpses to the X-Mansion, as Deadpool's mutant powers will bring him back to life.
When Deadpool recuperates at X Manson, Colossus takes him to Rusty Collins and saves the school's headmaster from Rusty. But there, Deadpool learns from Rusty that he will not attend this school, but rather to bring him to the edge of a prison where mutants are held.
Whichever is the case, Deadpool is sent to the prison along with Rusty, allowing Deadpool to take care of Rusty. But in that prison, the soldier Cabal from the future comes to kill Rusty in that prison and there is a nice fight between Deadpool and Cabal. As a result, the two break out of jail and learn that Rusty has become a future murderer and killed Cable's wife and child. Because of that, Cable wants to travel back in time to kill Rusty, so Rusty can no longer kill his wife and children in the future.
Deadpool forms a team called X-Force to rescue Rusty and attack the jail, but Rusty befriends Juggernaut and breaks into a car to escape and go to the school to kill the headmaster. However, Deadpool manages to convince Cable that if Rusty can't kill the Headmaster, Rusty won't grow up to be a killer and Cable's wife and child won't have to die either.
Cable agrees with Deadpool and saves the Headmaster from Rusty before trying to understand Rusty. But when Cable and Deadpool were unable to deal with Juggernaut, Colossus and Whistle arrived and killed Juggernaut and managed to convince Rusty with great difficulty. And that's how the Deadpool 2 movie ends with more of Deadpool's best scenes.
Comment:
Today's movie has good mystery, twist, action, romance, revenge and a good guardian. I liked the movie, those of you who haven't seen Deadpool 2 yet should definitely watch it and let us know what you think.
Thank you all so much. I will see you tomorrow with an interesting new movie. Stay well and stay healthy.
Our dear friend Ryan Reynolds does it again with his wonderful performances in the cinematic universe of Deadpool, so this time he presents us with a second part of the story of Deadpool, arguably the black sheep of the Marvel universe.
So after acquiring and obtaining his immortal abilities in the previous installment, this second part presents us as he fights against a mysterious half-human, half-robot man, better known in the Marvel universe as Cable, repeatedly Deadpool laughs at his strange name.
The actors of this movie that I loved the most in their performances are: Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool himself (again he did it again hahaha), Josh Brolin as Nathan Summers / Cable, Julian Dennison as Russell / Firefist and Zazie Beetz as Neena Thurman / Domino.
It all starts as usual, Deadpool making a living as a bounty hunter killing mafia people to remove the competition in the US mafia, so he feels very happy with the kind of life he has, until a mysterious being comes and takes away what Deadpool loves most in this world, the product of his work as a bounty hunter.
Deadpool will have no choice but to kill the person who did this to him, but in the end it is only a vain revenge, so he gets depressed making many mistakes in his life, until he meets Colossus, one of the last descendants of the X-men, who tries to persuade him to join the family along with Negasonic and his girlfriend Yukio, both mutants with extraordinary abilities, so Deadpool always makes Colossus lose his patience and starts fighting against him, always ending up with several parts of his body dismembered for every fight they have.
A mysterious subject, half human and half robot comes from the future to end a serious threat that ended the human race in the future, so this guy named Cable / Nathan will try to kill the person responsible for all this, which is nothing more than a child with mental problems, the product of a man who calls himself God to remove the special abilities of mutants.
"Blessed are the damned healed with my hand", the typical phrase that a young man of about 15 years old named Russell mentions at all times, although he calls himself Firefist.
Will Deadpool be able to do the right thing in order to commit suicide?
You may notice that it's a bit of a strange question, so the answer will be when you see the movie.
One of my impressions of this movie is that one of my favorite characters like the great and powerful Juggernaut makes a scene in this movie to have a deadly fight against Colossus, since he is the only opponent that resembles him in the tremendous amount of strength he possesses.
Of course, for Colossus any damage is like the sting of an ant, since his body is made of a very resistant organic metallic layer, which provides a high defensive level with a tremendous amount of strength, so seeing the combat of these two characters is epic, I really loved this fight, I know I'm a woman and I should not say these things, but in movies like this I like to see this kind of epic fights.
I don't know much about the Marvel universe, but in the movies I have seen I have been able to appreciate the fights that all these superheroes or antiheroes have.
As Deadpool tries to save Russell's life in the remaining half of the movie, he learns that Russell is nothing more than a crybaby who was hurt badly when he was taken to the strange mutant school just to take away his beloved powers.
So Deadpool will try to prevent Russell from making a mistake with his life and, therefore, the murder of this child, so he can finally die in peace in the knowledge that of the many things he has done, only one of them has been good, which is to save someone's life, as Deadpool is known as an anti-hero.

Another character that has caught my attention, but it is because of the incredible ability she has, is Dimino / Neena Thurman, this woman has an incredible luck that seems to have no special ability.
She may be in a lot of trouble, but all it takes is one lucky break to get her out of trouble.
Conclusion
This second part of Deadpool has really been a lot of fun, as Ryan Reynolds continues to surprise us with such wonderful performances and his charismatic acting, in which he will always make us laugh out loud with his jokes and rudeness.
This movie is not suitable for children, as the action scenes are too strong for them, so this movie is recommended for adults over 18 years old, there are also scenes of nudity in some scenes, so discretion is recommended.

Julian Dennison, he of Hunt for the Wilderpeople is in Deadpool 2. This is something I was unaware of going into this movie. This makes the movie worth seeing on its own as he gives a powerful performance as a scared, angry young mutant named Russell at the centre of this movie.
Deadpool is back, again played by Ryan Reynolds and he is trying very hard to protect Russell from the time traveler, Cable, played by Josh Brolin. This includes assembling a crew of mutants he calls the X-Force to fight him.
I liked the first Deadpool when it came out but not on repeat viewing, so I am curious to see if this one holds up because I quite enjoyed it. There are plot holes of course but overall it was entertaining and funny. I don’t believe the articles that claim it is a subversion of superhero movies as I didn’t see much in the way of subverting of superhero tropes in the way the first one tried. Maybe I missed them.
At any rate, worth seeing folks!
The other night I got the chance to watch Deadpool 2. I am a big fan of many of the Ryan Reynolds movies, and I especially like him in the romantic/comedy movies. But, then there is Deadpool!
I watched the first Deadpool movie a few years ago. I remember it well because I was very tired. And guess what... I fell asleep watching the movie! And do you know what, it annoys me that I did. Everywhere they told me about how Deadpool was a great movie, it was so funny, and maybe one of the best movies released in that year (it has a 90% audience score at Rotten Tomatoes). What was wrong? Did I watch the movie with a bad mood, or how come that I didn't like it? Especially considering how I like superheroes with big muscles and good jokes!
What about Deadpool 2?
In Deadpool 2, our grand hero meets the teenage boy Russell who is a mutant able to throw fire and more. He decides to team up with him and to protect him from the mercenary Cable, a man who has arrived from the future to kill Russell. But, of course, life isn't that easy, and Deadpool and Russel do not become best friends at once. And, as the story movies on, there will be quite a lot of surprises and special turns in the movie.
But, how did I like Deadpool 2?
I have got to be honest again, and Deadpool 2 did not succeed in making me a fan this time either. I cannot explain why I do not like it, but it simply is unable to grab a hold of me. It doesn't have the power to keep me awake, it is unable of making me curious on what will happen in the next moments, and my palms do not even get sweaty because of some crazy action scene (they normally do when something is very exciting, or scary, like when Tom Cruise hangs outside the giant skyscraper in one of the Mission Impossible movies). I know, Deadpool 2 has an 85% audience score at Rotten Tomatoes, meaning that people generally like it a lot, but no... Deadpool is not for me!
I have a hard time writing it because I feel as if something is wrong with me... maybe it is?
What are your feelings about Deadpool? Am I crazy? I would love to hear your thoughts about the movie!
Ps: Looking for another interesting review to read today? I can warmly recommend the Robin Hood review (the brand new 2018 movie) written by @coldsteem. It is well worth the read!

›ULOG DAY 7: DEAD POOL 2 THE MOVIE@stevenson72948d
Hello guys, it's day 7 of my ulog story, and this time there is no sunset or sunrise or nothing. Hehe. It's just me and the fact that I just saw deadpool and it was pretty amazing. The movie was breath taking, the comedy was amazing and all. The plot and how everything turned out was fun, there was particularly one character that made me jump out of my seat though, JUGGERNAUT, yeah he was mighty and fierce, was a sight to behold this fella.
The fights where Spectacular haha, okay I don't want to be a spoiler for you but then I could just give away some hints for you and just be a partial spoiler hehehehe. So for those of you that have seen them movie, what's your opinion on it?

Deadpool aka Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) can not die, even when the explosion makes all parts of his body scattered as shown in the opening scene. He could without a doubt hit the Yakuza headquarters as well as any dangerous mafia. After the first film, it seemed as if everything was easy for Wade, who now works as a head killer for criminal heads all over the world. Apparently not that easy. He is immune and "untouchable", but not so with the people around him. Based on that idea, Deadpool 2 raises a story that is very representative of the sense of comic books. I can not reveal it, but if you are familiar with super hero comics, you know which aspects of their lives are the hardest, sometimes tragic, Behind all the jokes of his own as well as the banter against the dark shades of DC movies, Deadpool 2 actually carries a dark story. Not just for Mr. Pool, as well as Russell Collins (Julian Dennison), the young mutant with fire, and Cable (Josh Brolin), a former soldier who came from the future to kill Russell. Two opposite faces were also shown by the performance of Ryan Reynolds. Wearing the mask of Deadpol, he appears witty, like a performer who can do anything, make any gesture. Without a mask, as Wade Wilson, while still being absurd, Reynolds injects a tragic melancholic side in Wade.
Usually from here I will mengulik one by one element of the story of the movie, but Deadpool 2, with a level of surprises not less than Avengers: Infinity War makes it difficult. One thing you should know, that there are many surprises scattered, both in the form of plot points, appearance and death of characters (so many hilarious death scenes), as well as some cameo including the appearance of the blink of a famous star. Excluding four mid-credit scenes-with the last three scenes summarized so one-that proves the crazy creativity of Ryan Reynolds as scriptwriter with Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.
Because it is difficult to review the flow, let's discuss the treat action. Having David Leitch in the directing seat, although his choreography is not as complex as Leitch's earlier work (John Wick, Atomic Blonde), several portions of the game, especially when exploiting the ferocity of Josh Brolin as Cable, often invite clicking awe. No less steal the attention of Zazie Beetz as Domino the mutant full of luck. Beetz is a rare talent. Have a physical attractive, charismatic and looks tough when melakoni action, but expertly joking. If one day there is an attempt to generate blaxploitation through the remake of classic titles like Foxy Brown and Coffy, Beetz should be the main choice, For Deadpool itself, Leitch takes advantage of the incapacity of the character to dampen lives in order to polish creative action. He could strangle the enemy with his own broken arm, cut his body in two, until it crumbled to pieces but still had time to reproach Wolverine. He can do all but shut up. And one thing the film can not do is stop the craze, stop throwing meta jokes. Deadpool 2 is reluctant to let any party escape insults, including Rob Liefeld, creator of Deadpool, Cable, and X-Force figures, who allegedly can not draw legs (please googling "Rob Liefeld's feet). Non-stop madness is the right decision, except for the first act, about 10-15 minutes early when the audience-at least I-still needs time to adjust.
From his solemn Enya Only Time, his Skrillex Bangarang makes Deadpool's fight against Cable cooler, to Celine Dion's Ashes as a James Bond intro, a testament to how the madness and shock power of Deadpool 2 is contagious over the music selection. Who would have thought also a mellow acoustic version of Take on Me can sound amazingly sweet? Or more precisely, who would have thought a movie like Deadpool 2 able to look sweet, romantic, touch, at least in the closing? i really sad.

›A Geeky Guy’s Movie Guide to Deadpool 2 (2018)@hanshotfirst2962d
Here is probably the only thing most people who clicked on this need to know: if you enjoyed Deadpool you must see Deadpool 2 ASAP.
For several months leading up to the release of Deadpool 2, I kept hearing rumors that test audiences had major problems with the movie. Some were saying that the creators had lost their minds and taken the merc with a mouth down the completely wrong path.
Even though this made me a bit nervous, I still had to see Deadpool 2 on opening day (in a high quality Dolby theater). I honestly think that those reports of Deadpool's failure were either an elaborate hoax, flat out lies, or the ravings of a crazy person.
Deadpool 2 was freaking awesome!
I loved the first movie. I was blown away by how entertaining yet incredibly wrong it was. It was so wrong in fact that I have vowed never to watch it in the same room with my son... ever. Even when he's 30, I would not feel comfortable watching that level of wrong with someone whose diapers I used to change.
I'm still not sure if I like Deadpool 2 better than the original or I merely like it differently from the original. Although I truly enjoyed his origin story mixed in with a little "romance", having to tell it slowed down the first movie a little bit. Deadpool 2 does not have that handicap. It is basically action or jokes for the entire 2 hours (including 5 hilarious after the credit scenes).
Another dilemma I am having is what I would classify this movie as. Obviously it is a comic book movie. However, I am not sure if it is an action movie or a comedy? Right now I am leaning toward comedy. Although it is filled with impressive action sequences, there are at least six jokes I can think of that are still making me laugh the day after seeing the movie. In fact, I am cracking up writing this right now. Therefore, I would argue this is a comedy that happens to fill time between jokes with incredible, over the top, violent action sequences.
After watching this movie, I kept comparing it to another recent comic book movie that really surprised me: The Lego Batman Movie. Please don't misunderstand this. The Deadpool series is NOT for children. Heck I don't even think it is for many adults. The reason I was reminded of The Lego Batman Movie is that it was not required for either one of them to be a good movie. The writers could have thrown together a lazy and cliche story, sat back, and counted their money. Instead, both actually came up with a clever story and paid very close attention to detail.
Writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (who collaborated on the highly underrated Zombieland) did not miss a single opportunity to slide in a well timed joke about the Marvel or D.C. universe. The team also included many inside jokes and Easter eggs for fans of the comic. Although they did not thoroughly flesh out the character of Cable, they took enough time to explain his motivations.
*No. Cable's motivation is not to sweep DP off his feet.*
Perhaps my favorite detail was the perfect use of songs. If you check out the soundtrack, you may find some very surprising artists (Dolly Parton? Cher? Air Supply? A-ha?). Trust me. These songs are used in the most clever ways possible. Not to be outdone, the original songs written for the movie are BRILLIANT! Although some of them are hard to decipher during the actual movie, if you stay for the credits, you will be able to truly enjoy them for their comic genius.
It wasn't just the songs that were surprising. I was shocked at how moving some parts of the story were. We all know I am a complete wuss who is not afraid to cry at insurance commercials, but even I was amazed that I found myself tearing up at a few scenes. This was more proof that these writers actually wanted to create something more than just a mindless action movie. They clearly put maximum effort into this.
The story, humor, music, and characters are all impressive. But what about the action? First of all, there is plenty of it. Without having to spend too much time on an origin story, they are able to jump right in with the action and do not have to break from it for very long. The special effects are acceptable... but they are not spectacular. For some reason, I do not think the CGI characters in this movie are as good as the ones in the Disney produced Marvel or Star Wars franchises. There is also one scene involving the X-Jet landing that looks absolutely terrible. It looked like low quality television special effects rather than those for a blockbuster movie. Even with these flaws, the action did its job. It was plentiful and exciting.
*This is how I transitioned from action to my new favorite character. I'm clever.*
Before I wrap this up, I would never forgive myself if I did not mention my favorite new character. No it is not Cable (although Josh Brolin was perfectly cast in this role). Although Cable is very cool and I can't wait to see what he does next, Domino was simply amazing. Even though I do not recall seeing Zazie Beetz in any other movies, I will never forget her portrayal of Domino in this one. Not only is she funny, she holds her own in her action scenes. She did not quite upstage the star as was the case with the women in Black Panther, but she was a close second.
Regardless of the fact that there were some plot holes and some characters did things that made no sense, the laughs, action and heart made up for these minor blemishes. That being said, after you see this movie, please try to explain to me why she just didn't stop the freaking truck right away? Why was there a chase? Because I don't want to spoil anything, I won't say anything more about the scene. Trust me. You will know it when you see it.
By the way, the post credit scenes are a must see!
Some are saying there are five post credit scenes. I see it as one that is broken up into five sections. Either way, they are hilarious! After the five are complete, I would recommend sticking around to listen to he lyrics of the original songs. They are masterpieces of juvenile humor.
Possible yet very tiny spoiler below.
The song and video Take on Me by A-ha plays a pretty important role in this movie. If you are too young to remember the video, it was considered quite groundbreaking when it was created. It is one of the most memorable and iconic videos of the early MTV era (you know when MTV was about music and videos). If you have never seen it, you should watch it before the movie. Being familiar with it will make the movie better.

Ryan Reynolds is back and as snarky as ever. He is joined by a new crew of anti-heroes. Or semi-heros. Or just Peter (Rob Delaney), as the case may be. Our favorite smartass has really screwed the pooch this time. After making a fatal mistake, Deadpool has fallen into an emotionally dark place. Okay...maybe it wasn't that far to fall. But he has hit a new low, even by Deadpool standards. I mean, think Air Supply and Celine Dion desperate. Yeah, the soundtrack has a lot to say about his mood. And it is not good.
Part of what makes Deadpool so damn lovable is his willingness to address us directly. He is not afraid to look straight into the eyes of the audience (what fourth wall?) and admit that something is derivative. Or lazy writing. He is kind of honest that way. And derivation is a hallmark of this franchise. We get a healthy dose of it in the opening credits. An unashamed ripoff of the latest installment of James Bond complete with some self-depreciating humor aimed squarely at those folks who the credits are intended to recognize. In typical fashion, it is all downhill from there. In Deadpool fashion...which means, that is not a bad thing. You are in for a wild ride.
As Deadpool tries to piece his life back together (literally, at times), he is faced with a mission and a daunting task. All while struggling with his own existence. He needs to save a kid (Russell/Julian Dennison), fight/team up with a menace from the future (Cable/Josh Brolin), make amends with the second tier X-Men and assemble a new team of super anti-heroes. Deadpool has never been much of a team player. But his short-lived teammates include Vanisher (Brad Pitt), Zeitgeist (Bill Skarsgard), Bedlam (Terry Crews) and Shatterstar (Lewis Tan). And of course, the ultra-lucky Domino (Zazie Beetz). And yes, luck is a super power. Together, they will fight for peace, justice and the American Way. Or, at least, attempt to help Deadpool derive some sense of purpose in life.
There are so many movie and cultural references in Deadpool 2 that it is easy to get lost. Of course, you can always count on Deadpool to point some of them out. The writing didn't feel quite as crisp as the first iteration of the franchise, but the sequel is strong enough to stand alone. The film has an action-packed set up, a distraction-laden narrative arc and a high-stakes resolution. The resolution even bleeds over into the Easter egg where plenty of loose ends get cleaned up, blurring the lines between fiction and reality. In a fun Deadpool sort of way. The snark and sarcasm ooze and seep from every pore of this film. No opportunity for wisecracks seems to have been wasted.
There was a lot to like in this film. It was packed with talent (for a film where the main character likes to comment on the lack of funding and his "second rate" treatment by the studios). The film had some great CGI action. The soundtrack was eclectically awesome. The film effectively deploys the soundtrack to support the cultural references or to offer direct commentary on the script. It is a fun way to incorporate the music. And, of course, the music is often cued by Deadpool himself. The role of deadpool could not have been cast better. Ryan Reynolds owns the role. I like Josh Brolin as Cable. He has the right combination of badass and likeability for the role. Julian Dennison irritated the hell out of me in Hunt for the Wilderpeople. He was brilliantly abrasive in that film. He seemed a bit typecast in Deadpool 2, but I kind of like the kid. He carried the Wilderpeople film, which had a cult-like explosive reception. He fit in well in this film. I also enjoyed Zazie Beetz and hope we get to see more of her going forward.
Deadpool 2 received an R rating from the MPAA. If you are thinking about bringing young children, don't. The film is violent, vulgar and filled with innuendo. Sexual situations and humor are abundant in the film. The violence goes as far as seeing the title character ripped in half. There are countless deaths, innumerable f bombs and quite a few references to pedophilia. We also get a look at Deadpool's CGI baby-junk in an overt Basic Instinct reference. The film is filled with enough objectionable material to warrant consideration even for younger teen audiences. Which I am sure will be seeing this film en masse. Deadpool 2 is a minute short of two hours. But it didn't feel like a two hour film. Great work with the writing to keep the pacing of this film up tempo.
I liked Deadpool 2. It was a great follow up to the first film. The disrespect for the fourth wall is a Deadpool trademark that is effectively deployed yet again. It adds a bit of fun to the storyline. The writing was sharp, the action intense, the plot interesting and the characters engaging. Even the throw-away characters were interesting in their cameo roles. The soundtrack was as brilliant as it was weird. The film is violent and vulgar, which is to be expected from this franchise. Although they seem to be striving for a record of some sort. As much as I liked this film, it had some room for improvement. I think the fanboys have driven the ratings at IMDb to 8.3. I think it may settle to 8 or slightly below by the time all is said and done. As a fan of the franchise, I am at 8/10. It was definitely worth seeing at the theater.
›Scene From 'Deadpool 2' | Anatomy of a Scene with David Leitch@cryplectibles2963d
In this scene featuring Ryan Reynolds, Deadpool becomes a trainee for the X-Men. He tries to calm down the angry young mutant Russell, or Firefist, played by Julian Dennison. The director David Leitch narrates the sequence and discusses the work that went into getting the visual effects, irreverent comedy and action of the scene just right.
F ** k #ThanosDemandsYourSilence!
Okay, Deadpool did not say, but this sounds like something he will say through Deadpool 2 movie. This movie has a more tasty spoiler, even your friends who maniac Deadpool and have watched all the material promo or read the comic most likely would not expect it. Well, unless they're the same cousin Ryan Reynolds .
When compared, the spoiler in Avengers: Infinity War is a mere ale-ale straw. And Deadpool selow abis, did not respond with exaggeration. This attitude alone can deliver it anywhere. Deadpool does not care if it's something small or big, or whether it will hit the audience or not. He just delivers.
Like most sequels, the film raises the dosage of anything that makes its first movie a success: more meta jokes, more brutal action, more loyal with budget and special effects, and more super-powered people. On several occasions, this is incriminating his movie, unlike his first slim film. But, Deadpool just delivers.
In the opening scene that promises a superior film, Deadpool immediately showcased his skills, namely cutting the limbs and teasing another superhero. Presumably the daily life of Deadpool / Wade Wilson (Reynolds) takes place at the same time as us; she knew that Logan was following her "R / Adult" rating or first box office acquisition that only Jesus could beat. However, he is now under stress and intends to follow Wolverine into the afterlife. Fortunately for us but a problem for Wade, he can not die. What the hell took him to the suicidal valley?
It is one of the few set-ups that Deadpool 2 must use to gain momentum in storytelling. The beginning of the film is a bit belibet. Wade then brought Colossus ( Stefan Kapicic ) to the school of Professor Xavier aka X-Men headquarters. His first mission (as a trainee, remember that!) Is to handle the mutant boy, Russell ( Julian Dennison ) who is being sulked. Long story short, Wade makes trouble and both are disetrap.
Then came Cable ( Josh Brolin ) from the future. This half robot mutant has only one mission, which eliminates Russell.
Therefore, Wade formed a team to save Russell and overcome Cable. His team name is X-Force, unlike the sexist X-Men because it's special for "men" / men. Members include: Bedlam ( Terry Crews ) the magnetic field controller, Shatterstar ( Lewis Tan ) electric wave ruler, Zeitgeist ( Bill Skarsgard ) who can spit out corrosive, and Vanisher (;)) whose ability to match his name.
But the best is Domino ( Zazie Beetz ), who claims that his super power is good luck. "Luck is not cinematic if exhibited in the movie," protested Deadpool, not knowing that Domino had just beat some people and survived some deadly scenes with luck capital alone.
Just a moment. Scratch the paragraph, because we also have Peter ( Rob Delaney ), a middle-aged man with a thick mustache, whose superhuman strength is no greater than oom-oom who likes to call noisy while watching with you.
Well, that's Deadpool. Various kinds of superpowers can be a joke. There are flashy jokes in one throw, and there are long jokes built through the story. The latter is of course more broken. Most of it is also being celebrated with the presence of various cameoes, including unexpected Hollywood stars, which I will not reveal here. You'll know when you see it.
The director's position is now taken over by David Leitch who once worked on John Wick and Atomic Blonde . Unlike the two films in which each action sequence is accentuated, the action scene in Deadpool feels more sluggish. He was no less sadistic than the previous film, but there is a kind of agony when witnessing routine comic violence that occurs here. There is, however, a pretty tough sequence of action that involves a lot of things and moves characters on a sizeable scale handled competently by Leitch.
Deadpool had said that this movie is a family movie. Although I do not recommend to bring all family members to the cinema because you will be uncomfortable, but I agree with the claim. Amongst blood splatter and vulgar jokes, the film gives space for drama, mostly from Wade looking for hqq meaning from "family is where your heart is". Cheesy as it sounds. But you know Deadpool; he is ready to blink his eyes anytime anywhere. He likes to point his own plot hole. There are many points that show lazy script writing, and this movie still uses it.
Ryan Reynolds now gets credit as one of the scriptwriters, alongside Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick . It seems because he has more control than the first film. But no one would blame him for that, because Deadpool had become Reynolds's second personality. Perhaps the majority of the Deadpool's curse comes from him. He looks comfortable and his chatter sounds spontaneous. At this point, he already knows exactly how Deadpool is, and he just delivers .
I am pretty surprised to see how the world of Deadpool has changed much from what I remember. He is now so close to X-Men. There is no doubt about the position of Deadpool in the X-Men universe. The common people already know a lot about mutants, there is even a special prison for mutants. You know what this change means; right, franchise-building . Ah, again a corporate trick. But on the other hand, Deadpool actually looks like a rescue franchise its parent.

I saw that the trailer that was about 8 minutes long featured on youtube. I have seen higher quality and funnier things from independent content creators on youtube honestly. That is a big fail from hollywood and youtube. It was mostly a bunch of half done scenes and outtakes. And I'm sure it would have ruined a lot of the jokes of the movie. I did not think the original was as great as people said, but I still really liked it. I hope the new one lives up to the original. But from this lame half assed trailer it doesn't look like it.
