  1. Kaguya-sama: Love Is War ❤️ Recommendation / Recomendación [Eng/Esp]@twirilyn267d

    ENGLISH VERSION:

Hello everyone and the #theanimerealm community ❤️, I hope you're all well and have a wonderful day ✨

Today I'm going to talk about an anime that manages to blend strategy, humor, and romance. This anime is known for its love becoming a mental battle. While it's true that we're familiar with a tender, romantic, and clichéd plot from some anime, what happens when two geniuses (the smartest and brightest students) can't handle their competitiveness and can't admit they like each other?

    PORTADAA.jpg

    > Kaguya-sama / Love Is War / El amor es guerra / かぐや様は告らせたい ~天才たちの恋愛頭脳戦 / Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren'ai Zunōsen

    Diseño sin título (2).png

    SYNOPSIS / SUMMARY:

Kaguya is the daughter of a very important and wealthy family. Shirogane is also a son of a good family and the president of the council. They are both admired by everyone at Shuchiin Academy, and both are in love with each other, but they won't lower themselves to admit it, and both try to get the other to declare their love first.

    Diseño sin título (2).png

    OUR STARS:

Much of the story and plot unfolds at Shuchiin Academy, a prestigious school where the children of Japan's most influential families attend. Here we meet various characters... each with an authentic and, above all, somewhat "competitive" personality. Among them, we find our protagonists:

Kaguya Shinomiya, portrayed as the perfect girl for being intelligent, beautiful, refined, self-confident, and known for being the vice president of the student council and the daughter of a prestigious family. Her upbringing is very strict, and her family ties make her cold, reserved, and distant... but behind that facade of perfection, we find a young woman inexperienced in emotional matters and romantic relationships, which is why she doesn't know how to express her feelings or show a much softer side.

    9.jpg

    • Miyuki Shirogane, unlike our protagonist, does not come from a wealthy family... he is at school because of his hard work and constant discipline in his studies, all this effort is reflected since he is one of the model students recognized for his dedication and also because he is president of the student council. This work that he was building to get where he is shows us a person who must be perfect in everything to keep up with the others, however, he is usually clumsy in various situations (Similar to Kaguya) it is difficult for him to express how he feels or relax.

    10.jpg

After getting to know our characters, we see that they deeply admire each other and have feelings for each other... Any "normal" person could admit their feelings or give in to these situations, but that's where the problem arises... Neither of them wants to confess their feelings for the other because "WHOEVER DECLARES, LOSES."

    1.jpg

From this point on, a (psychological) war begins, where they try to get the other to admit their feelings through somewhat strange (not to say absurd or funny) strategies or situations.

    3.jpg

    THE UNUSUAL ROMANCE:

As I mentioned before... this anime isn't just about romance, but also about managing humor through this certain rivalry and its dynamic pace. I think what gives it a touch of entertainment is the narrator's voice, as the sarcastic voice or each comment representing the thoughts and actions of our characters makes us feel like we're in a battle or in a boxing ring (just a figure of speech, not literal LOL).

    7.jpg

This relationship that our protagonists establish becomes something very special since they are always in the constant struggle to see who declares their love first... Obviously, there are times when one may give in more than the other, but that doesn't take away from the fact that this competition is very fun and funny.

    2.jpg

But so you don't stay in suspense or think that this constant struggle will continue throughout the plot... that's not the case, since we could say that we have an ending that will leave us satisfied... Both lose, but at the same time they win.

    6.jpg

    Diseño sin título (2).png

    THE STUDENT COUNCIL:

I think I've already talked a lot about our characters... I'll tell you that they're not the only ones in the anime; we also have the other members of our student council:

    • Yu Ishigami: An introverted and antisocial student. He plays the role of the council's treasurer. He's perceived as a frivolous person or already distant from the rest, but later on, we learn a little more about his story and how he adapts this aloof personality as a defense against what happened previously. In my opinion, I perceive Ishigami as a somewhat distant character or removed from others. This is because he may be carrying a heavy burden or something that prevents him from stepping out of the box.

    5.jpg

    • Miko Iino: She becomes the moralistic representative (Somewhat rigid, not to say very rigid), we know her as a very disciplined student and somewhat obsessed with order ... even at the beginning she does not understand how the other members of the council can be relaxed (According to the standards that she has), however, behind all that firm character that she has there is a great internal pressure. This perfectionism comes from a very strict family, which made her grow up with the idea that everything must be impeccable, something that later generates fear of failure, anxiety and the constant need for validation. But despite all this, Miko demonstrates a great ability to adapt to that whole environment and relax a little, showing that not everything can be perfect.

    4.jpg

    • Chika Fujiwara: (I think I saved the best for last hehe) I imagine that many people must have known her even before watching the anime because of the "Chika Dance" since it was one of the most viral endings due to its catchy rhythm and simple choreography. But I'll still talk a little about her... She is the council secretary, she is a very happy, spontaneous and COMPLETELY UNPREDICTABLE person. While our protagonists are in the middle of war, she appears just at the least expected moment... ruining all their plans (Which for us is totally magnificent because of the chaos it generates in the plot and the laughs it gives us). Chika

    Diseño sin título (2).png

THINGS I LIKED AND WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED:

    • The emotional evolution of the protagonists feels authentic. Throughout the plot, they give us that transparency, reflecting what they feel, their fears, and how they improve... showing us something real. We also enjoy the evolution of our secondary characters.

    • On an audiovisual level, we'll have a gem, some unique moments worth enjoying (Additionally, each opening and ending they show us is too good).

    • From my perspective, I feel that at some points in the plot it can feel repetitive, but that's what gives it its spark and allows us to connect with the type of humor they use. (I also appreciate that they maintain a balance between comedy, romance, and, above all, the tenderness and evolution of our characters.)

    • The humor is completely original. We don't just see romantic clichés or expected things... sometimes we'll see super absurd and completely senseless moments that will generate a lot of laughter. (I think one of the moments where I laughed the most was when Shirogane doesn't have the slightest idea how to play volleyball and Fujiwara starts to train him, when in the middle of the game she says "I raised him.")

    8.jpg

    Diseño sin título (2).png

I highly recommend this anime, as it's one of the few shows that will make us laugh with its humor, especially the "intellectual" battle between our smartest characters. It's ideal if you're looking for something lighthearted, fun, and, above all, with unexpected twists.

    PORTADAA.jpg

    > Kaguya-sama / Love Is War / El amor es guerra / かぐや様は告らせたい ~天才たちの恋愛頭脳戦 / Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren'ai Zunōsen

    Diseño sin título (2).png

    SINOPSIS / RESUMEN:

    • Yu Ishigami: Un estudiante introvertido y antisocial.

  2. Kaguya-sama: Love is war - When Pride meets Love - Review@zoe01356d

    Kaguya-sama: Love Is War

    credits

Hello anime lovers, welcome back to another review blog. Today's anime is Kaguya-sama: Love Is War. It's quite a famous anime, but I have only recently watched it as I am finishing each anime one by one. I don't know when this will end! Every day I get introduced to a new anime, and I have a long list now. I don't ask for suggestions anymore because I already have a big list to finish.

Today's anime is really special, it has a unique concept. This anime is primarily a romantic comedy (romcom) manga and anime series. It also has elements of high school life and slice of life. Released in 2019, that’s quite a while ago. There are three seasons, and I will be talking about Season 1.

I am sharing the trailer with you guys so that you will have a better understanding of it. It looks like a cute story, right? But there's much more. You will laugh, you will cry, it's a mixture of all kinds of feelings. The actual show is even better than the trailer; I think it didn’t showcase all of the energy the show actually has. You cannot let this one slip because it's amazing. Just watch it for yourself. I am totally fed up with typical romance, and this is definitely different from the others, because the concept is clear the first one to confess is the loser and there’s lots of comedy that will hook you into the story.

Shuchiin Academy is very well-known, and Japan's most successful and wealthy families send their children there. Our male lead is the Student Council President, and his name is Miyuki Shirogane. The female lead is the Student Council Vice President, and her name is Kaguya Shinomiya. Both of them are the best at everything. Moreover, they would look perfect together. But their pride comes first. They try clever schemes to get each other’s confession because they believe that love is war, and the first person to confess their feelings is going to be the loser. So, they try different methods to get the first confession.

    Spoilers Ahead!

Season 1, Episode 11–12, we get to know that Kaguya does not have any memories from summer. She never went to any summer festival or any kind of festival. She never hung out with friends. She only watched people having fun from her window. She only follows the orders of her father, but her father never pays attention to her. She's upset about her situation but always tells herself that "It's okay." She consoles herself like that whenever things don’t go the way she wants. She leads a luxurious life, which everyone desires, but she never got the happiness. All she wanted was her father's appreciation and care. She has the desire to go out with her friends because they truly care for her, and they are different from other people. But the boundaries are stopping her from doing so.

Episode 12 is called "I Can't Hear The Fireworks". We see that Kaguya wore a beautiful yukata and was ready to enjoy the night with her friends for the first time. Her friend Chika, Ishigami, along with Shirogane, were waiting for Kaguya to arrive. But when Kaguya wanted to leave her room, she was told that she was banned for her behavior that she could not go out. Kaguya texted her friends that she couldn't come.

After a while, Kaguya, lying on her bed, started to cry. She kept telling herself that "It's okay," but it was tearing her apart inside. She wanted to see the fireworks with her friends, but she couldn't go. Since her childhood, she has always had restrictions, and she follows everything for her father, who doesn't even talk to her properly. Ai Hayasaka saw Kaguya in this condition and felt bad for her. She inspired Kaguya to escape and join her friends. As someone close to Kaguya, she finally convinced her and took Kaguya's place to deceive others from finding out that Kaguya had left home.

On the other hand, when Shirogane heard that Kaguya wasn't coming, he took a bicycle and headed toward Kaguya’s house because he didn't want to leave her behind. Kaguya, on her way, took a taxi but was caught in traffic. She couldn't even reach her friends by calling. Shirogane arrived at Kaguya’s house and saw from the window that the girl pretending to be Kaguya was standing there, and he realized that Kaguya had already left, so he started searching for her in other places. The taxi driver told Kaguya that they wouldn’t arrive on time as the fireworks would end soon. Then Kaguya decided to leave the taxi.

Kaguya started to run, hoping that she would reach her friends before the fireworks ended. On the other hand, Shirogane was also on his bicycle looking for her. They didn’t see each other. After a while, it was announced that the fireworks had ended. Everyone was leaving as the fireworks stopped. Kaguya was left in sorrow. She took a narrow roadside path to hide and was crying alone.

She really wanted to see the fireworks, she even escaped and did everything she could, and she still couldn't make it. And at that point, Shirogane arrived. He told her that if she really wanted to see the fireworks, then he would show her. Then he grabbed Kaguya by her arm, and they ran along the roadside.

There she met Chika and Ishigami. They were waiting by a taxi. Chika pushed Kaguya inside the taxi. Everyone got inside, and it was the same taxi Kaguya had first taken. After that, Shirogane asked the driver to get on the expressway and go to Umihotaru, where the fireworks had been postponed due to the rain. The driver saw their determination to see the fireworks and drove really fast. They were on the bridge, inside the car, and the fireworks started they finally got the chance to see the fireworks together.

Kaguya's dream came true, but she was not focused on seeing the fireworks. She was staring at Shirogane. The three of them were looking at the beautiful fireworks, but Kaguya’s attention was only on Shirogane. She couldn’t hear the fireworks anymore because her heart was beating really fast as she looked at Shirogane.

The anime is really overwhelming. I got surprised by each episode, as they always have something new in the story. It's not predictable at all. The storyline is so good that I might end up reading the manga too. The chemistry between Kaguya and Shirogane is unbeatable. Also, the friendship between Kaguya and Chika is the cutest bond in the whole show. Chika is definitely my favorite character as she is the funniest. Also, each character’s personality is different from one another, but still, they go so well together.

The last episode of Season 1 really made me cry. Even though I could not relate to Kaguya’s situation, I could still feel what she went through. Detachment from parents is one of the hardest things to deal with. I can only imagine myself in her place, and that made me cry. She goes through hard phases, and still, she is so strong. She doesn’t let anyone know about her feelings, but she’s a softie. Her support character, Hayasaka, is truly a gem. Hayasaka is very loyal and smart, she is also my favorite. I will recommend everyone to watch this anime. It's a sweet story.

    Ratings: 10/10

  3. Kaguya-sama: Love Is War, one of my favorite mangas.@karinanunez482d

    fchf.png

Hello, my dear otaku friends, I'm sharing these images of one of my favorite mangas and, along with the manga, some figurines related to this manga and anime that captivated me since I started following it some time ago.

This manga is in Spanish, which is why I love reading it whenever I can, haha. A friend gave me figurines of Kaguya and Chika transformed into bunny girls; they're so cute.

I also enjoyed the movies and some episodes of this anime, but with real people.

The story is captivating and very romantic, as I love shojo and sometimes I try to re-watch these movies.

I highly recommend them for a relaxing, romantic weekend, haha.

Both Kaguya and Chika are charming girls; that's why I cosplayed both of them and also made a figurine as a badge of Miyuki Shirogane. I love it, haha! 🥰

That's why I'm sharing my Kaguya manga with you, along with some images of the cosplayers and the Miyuki figurine.

  4. Love is War:Kaguya-sama[ENG/SPA]@omokhafue519d

[ENG] It's February and also the season of love. What better ways to spend the month than writing exams and hating on people in love? Right, please ignore whatever I just said. I was on reddit some days back and saw a post recommending this beautiful anime. It came out my realization I had already seen the anime but I didn't go past season 2. I really can't remember why I didn't complete it because it was really good,so it was probably some technical issues or I just got distracted and forgot about it. I've never really been a fan of romance anime cause I find them cringe in a way, I don't know why. Kaguya-sama sort of changed that ideal for me. I remember seeing this and then going straight to Toma chan is a girl. Another amazing animes by the way. But we're focusing on Kaguya-sama: Love is war right now. And concerning the romance/ comedy genre,it should be part of my top 3 without doubt, stuttering or staggering.

05f6653544ab709981778478f2a002b9.jpg Source Kaguya-sama:Love is war is a romantic comedy anime that aired sometime in 2019. It has a total of 3 seasons with about 12 episodes each and a movie. This anime is a hilarious and heartwarming. It follows the story of Miyuki Shirogane and Kaguya Shinomiya, two high school students who are part of the student council at Shuchiin Academy.

Miyuki, the student council president, and Kaguya, the vice president, are both super smart and talented, but they're also both crazy stubborn and prideful. They've developed feelings for each other, but neither of them wants to admit it first. They're both afraid that the other person will reject them or gain the upper hand in their relationship.

So, they engage in this series of mind games and psychological battles, trying to get the other person to confess their feelings first. It's actually pretty funny to watch, because they both come up with these elaborate schemes to outmaneuver each other.

Throughout the series, Miyuki and Kaguya's interactions are filled with tension, wit, and humor. They're both really clever and always trying to one-up each other. But irrespective of their competitive nature, they both have these moments when they're vulnerable. Here, they reveal their true feelings and insecurities.

Kaguya, in particular, struggles with her own emotions. She's torn between her desire to be with Miyuki and her need to maintain her pride and independence. It's really relatable to people who has been in love and have to choose between focusing on themselves or being with the person they want;)

Yu Ishigami, a student council member, is this quiet and introverted boy who harbors his own feelings for Kaguya. They're both supporting characters, Yu Ishigami and Chima Fujiwara.

As the series progresses, Miyuki and Kaguya's relationship evolves, and they start to develop a deeper understanding of each other's feelings. But their pride and stubbornness continue to get in the way, making it hard for them to confess their love for each other. Funny people.

    Thanks for reading.

  5. Kaguya-sama ending: Love is war✨🫶 My opinion@karinanunez531d

    Hello, my dear otaku friends.

This movie captivated me from the moment I knew it was from a manga and later an anime. The plot is too shojo, that is, for girls, haha, because it is very romantic and, like almost all school shojo manga or anime, I love it, especially if it brings a lot of comedy and romance.

The film was released in theaters on August 20, 2021, topping the box office during its opening weekend.

Kaguya is a very intelligent, beautiful and romantic girl, but although she seemed somewhat cold towards the boy she loves, her great love for him made her change.

Miyuki Shirogane, for his part, is also a very intelligent boy, mature at times, haha. He does not bend his arm in front of Kaguya, whom he loves so much, but upon realizing that love conquers everything, he decides to bow down to her. For this to happen, a lot of time had to pass, but what captivated me was the fact that, no matter how much some situations tried to separate them, love conquered everything and they were able to be happy.

I highly recommend this movie to those who have already seen the Kaguya anime, since, like other human movies that some animes represent, they were perfectly adapted to the anime's protagonists.

Even though it had some bad reviews for its ending, I found it acceptable and cute because, after overcoming so many things, they were able to be happy and be together.

    ✿︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶︶✿

    Kanna Hashimoto as Kaguya Shinomiya.

    The secondary protagonists:

    Hayato Sano as Yu Ishigami.

    Mayu Hotta as Ai Hayasaka.

The performances are very good, since they completely adapt to the anime characters for me and it is very interesting to be able to enjoy this film when they are so similar to the animated ones.

  6. Kaguya-sama: Love is War | A Hilarious Romantic Comedy Review [ENG-ESP]@jessuses1381772d

Greetings, and welcome to all, anime lovers! 💗

Hello everyone! I hope you are feeling great today. I want to share with you all a new review, this time of an anime that at first I thought I wouldn't like, and I started with very low expectations, but ended up being surprised, because without realizing it I was laughing too much haha. I will tell you about Kaguya-sama: Love is War, a series based on the manga of the same name that has been attracting a lot of fans in the last years, this series has become very popular in Japan. It has won several awards as best romantic comedy or romance anime in general, and I think it has very well deserved all the fame it has, as it has been one of the best romantic comedies I've seen in anime in recent years! I'll tell you a little bit about the two main characters: Kaguya Shinomiya and Miyuki Shirogane, the two most intelligent and talented students in their academy, and members of the prestigious student council.

These two lovebirds end up falling in love with each other, but... unlike other typical romance series, these two characters are very proud, which makes neither of them dare to take the first step, and confess their feelings for each other. This triggers a funny war, which is based on wit, and strategies where both will try to make the other confess their love first. It may seem like a silly premise, but the way they develop it is great, I found the whole backstory very interesting and unique.... All that plus the amazing chemistry between the main characters, the interactions between them, and the other characters, members of the student council, are really fun to watch.

In the second season of this great series, the development of the secondary characters, such as: Chika Fujiwara, Yuu Ishigami and Ai Hayasaka, is deepened, making them more present in the main plot, and giving them a little more prominence. Each of these characters has their own interesting story, their own unique touch... which enriches the series itself much more, as we not only focus on the problems of the main couple, but each member of the student council is just as important to the story. In addition, some more serious issues are explored, such as abuse, bullying and loneliness, but always with a touch of humor and sensitivity, which makes the viewer connect more with these characters.

We are also introduced to more charismatic and funny characters, and this instead of being a problem is an improvement to the series, as we can see how the protagonists, who feel somewhat lonely, gradually begin to relate to other people, and being more sociable, something that contributes to their development. In the third season they did their best, it is without a doubt my favorite, and I think it is the best so far, it is very emotional and satisfying... The climax that is being prepared in the course of the season is simply incredible! I got too excited, it's epic, heartwarming, and they never lose that signature comedic touch!

After three amazing seasons, and very well received by the fans. The Kaguya-sama movie would arrive, which serves as a direct continuation of the exciting events of the third season... and well, it's just the icing on the cake. We are introduced to the incredible development that all the student council characters had, we will see Kaguya and Miyuki face new challenges after overcoming so many obstacles, all of this exploring love, trust, and personal acceptance in a very cute way.

The animation, as in all the previous seasons, is great, but here they did even better... everything feels very dazzling, and what to say about the soundtrack... it was great, it helps a lot in key moments, it gives all the important scenes a unique vibe. I feel that what makes this series a masterpiece, is its ability to combine such a good humor, with really emotional and deep moments and situations. The characters are amazing, they are complex, multidimensional, and fun to watch, I became very attached to them, laughing and crying throughout the course of their story.

This series is a gem, it is one of the few series that stand out in everything, characters, plot, animation, direction... each season and episode, are brilliantly crafted... If you are a fan of comedy and unconventional romances, you have to give this series a chance, I assure you that as the episodes go by, you will end up getting attached to the characters, and waiting for the big moment where they confess all their love. This series exceeded all my expectations, it's funny, intelligent, and captivating like few others... in an era where romantic comedies always have something that makes them be compared to many others, maybe because of their simplicity... Here comes this series to make you see that the romantic adventures of a group of students can still be entertaining to watch.

Each season and the movie are great... I feel lucky to give it a chance, I give it a good 9.7/10. After finishing this series, I had a tremendous dilemma... I liked it so much that I didn't know where to put it in my favorite romance anime... Then came The Dangers in My Heart and I don't know, I don't see myself able to choose a favorite, I have to think about it very well haha. Well, if you haven't seen this series, I highly recommend it, I'll leave you my favorite opening for you to take a look, if you like, take care! See you in the next review!

  11. Kaguya-Sama: Love Is War - The Battle Of Pride In The War Of Love[ENG -ESP]@kuronokenshi1946d

    image.png screenshot of my monitor

No matter how much time passes, Romcom animes are always one of the most popular and watched by everyone and it is not surprising that in the best animes of each year one or two romantic comedies are positioned in the list, in fact according to a survey conducted by Anime Corner among the 10 best anime of the year 2020 voted by fans and viewers were positioned several romantic comedies in that list among which Oregairu and Kanojo Okarishimasu of which I already spoke some time ago, even the best anime of the year 2020 of that list was a romantic comedy about which this post will be about Kaguya-Sama Love is War. This anime has the original name Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Ren'ai Zunōsen and is based on the manga of the same name that was first published in 2015 and is still in broadcast. This anime belongs to the Seinen Genre and is a school anime of romantic comedy and some moments of drama, it has two seasons published in 2019 and 2020 respectively, also its third season is scheduled for this year.

Separador Final sin fondo.png image.png screenshot of my monitor

In this anime we will have of protagonists that could be considered main which will be Kaguya Shinomiya a popular girl, intelligent and idolized by all the students of the Shuchiin Academy which is one of the most prestigious in all Japan, Kaguya is the daughter of a fairly rich and powerful family in the business world, in addition to this Kaguya is the Vice-President of the academic council. The other important protagonist in this anime will be the President of the academic council Miyuki Shirogane a brilliant young man who is practically in all the exams in first place, well liked and respected throughout the academy but unlike Kaguya belongs to a modest family where even he always has a part-time job to cover personal and household expenses. We also have the other members of the academic council who will be the secretary Chika Fujiwara an incredibly cheerful and carefree girl who happens to be very nice and fun at every moment, her passion is board games. The other character will be the Treasurer Yu Ishigami a bright boy and lover of video games but turns out to be quite cold, lonely and prefers not to interact with their environment and isolate themselves from everyone around them. Although they are all important characters, only Kaguya and Miyuki could be considered as main characters.

    image.png screenshot of my monitor

The plot of this anime is based on how after a year in charge of the academic council Kaguya and Miyuki end up falling in love with each other but both have a major flaw in their way of thinking and is the incredible pride they have because as much as both love each other also firmly believe that relationships are a battle of power where one is always the dominant leader and the other person turns out to be the soldier who obeys orders without refutation. It is for this reason that both are sure that the person who declares himself first ends up irremediably as the loser in terms of power and is destined to be the one who obeys, it is for this reason that their main objective is to get the other person to declare himself to her. Kaguya wants to get Miyuki to propose to her and thus win her, in the same way Miyuki is focused on getting Kaguya to propose to her in the first place. A battle of pride in a war of love.

    image.png screenshot of my monitor

Throughout this anime we will see in each episode funny battles where with a variety of methods and traps each one wants to get the upper hand in making the other party confess their love, in some episodes we will see up to 2-3 short stories where we will have really funny situations due to their great pride where even situations as simple as changing cell phone results in a battle of intellect to make the other person who asks for the number first because for them something as simple as asking or giving your cell phone number means a defeat in the war of power. The series enjoys hundreds of funny and entertaining moments where each battle will end with various results where it can be considered a victory for Kaguya, for Miyuki or with no apparent results. Likewise, we will not only see stories focused on Miyuki and Kaguya as the way of using other characters such as Chika and Ishigami are great for the plot and story.

Separador Final sin fondo.png image.png screenshot of my monitor

One of the most striking things about this anime is that even though it is a Romantic Comedy, it knows how to use some scenes and dramatic moments very well, besides exploiting to the maximum the stories and pasts of other characters such as Ishigami, who personally turned out to be the character with the best evolution throughout the episodes and the development of the plot. Each episode is quite varied and refreshing because by using so many short stories, it manages to give a sense of novelty in them avoiding falling into a single continuous story that can become monotonous, predictable or boring. It also has good development of secondary characters that are very useful and fun for the plot. When you watch Kaguya-Sama you understand perfectly how it managed to position itself as one of the best anime of the year 2020 and the reason why there is so much expectation with its third season. One of the best Romantic Comedies to watch in the anime world today.

    image.png screenshot of my monitor

    image.png screenshot of my monitor

Separador Final sin fondo.png image.png screenshot of my monitor

  12. "The Classmate Beside Me"-Type of Manga & Their Sequels@ahmadmanga2001d

Recently I stumbled upon a Manga called Tonari no Seki-kun: Junior. It's a sequel to a comedy Manga I loved when I read 2 years ago. Tonari no Seki-kun. I then remembered something similar happening to Takagi-san Manga. So I want to write about this new Genre I discovered of Romance-comedy!

    SekiKunTakagiSanSukinaKo.jpg

    Seki-kun Manga & It's Junior Sequel

Tonari no Seki-kun (meaning My Neighbor Seki) follows the overly imaginative Rumi Yokoi and her classmate Toshinari Seki. The boy always ignores the class playing games, and she tries to make him focus only to waste time with him instead.

The story of the series is very basic. Every chapter features a different idea but it boils down to Seki being cruelly playful and Yokoi being the unneeded voice of reason/humanity. Like the time Seki played a Chess-like board game and gave one side the advantage. Yokoi tried to make the other side win because it's unfair. It's stupid. It's relatable... It's hilarious!

    tonarinoseki115_04.jpg

In the sequel I mentioned, turns out they got married in the future. The story now follows Yokoi Rumi as a mother. She notices that her 2-years old boy (I'll call him Seki Jr.) takes after his father, so she tries her hardest to not let him grow up to be like him. I never been a parent but the story feels like something any parent could go through!

What makes it mire interesting, is that when I read it I feel Seki Jr. takes the worst of both of his parents traits, while counterbalancing them with each others good points!

Those Familiar with the Series know the significance of this Car.jpg

I find myself liking this type of Manga. When I decided to write this article, I remembered the idea of a sequel like this, being used in another series: "The Ultimate Teaser Takagi-san."

Takagi-san Manga & The "Moto" Sequel

Teasing Master Takagi-san is a psychological comedy between the protagonist Nishikata and his classmate Takagi. The girl likes to tease him and make him blush and he tries to get back at her. His complicated plans always fail just because he tries them, implying that Takagi knows exactly how he thinks all the time.

    takagisan05_05.jpg

While Takagi-san is being serialized, a spin-off Manga that takes place in the future and features them as parents: Moto Takagi-san is also serialized. Their daughter now taking her father's role of being teased.

    mototagaki01_02.jpg

Both series are lovely. I think the Moto series is better because it accomplishes the same thing that the main series does in less pages. I believe Takagi-san is the most popular Manga of this genre at the time of writing, so I'm sure the Moto series is well-known as well. The daughter also has her own Manga following her story as a teenager.

    Sukinako ga Megane wo Wasureta

The final Manga of this type that I've read lately is Sukinako ga Megane wo Wasureta. Title means The Girl I Like Forgot Her Glasses, which describes the whole story.

The protagonist's classmate in middle school tends to forget her glasses all the time. It includes forgetting them at home, breaking them, taking her father's instead or just getting lost. The protagonist has crush on her but he's too shy. They develop a special bond through the story and it's both heartwarming, funny and sometimes frustrating to see their interactions.

    sukinakomegane010.jpg

This series is still ongoing, though I don't know for how long the author will still be able to come with creative ideas for the heroine to forget her glasses. Other than that, I don't recommend this manga unless you're interested in a shy, slow romance. There's nothing else in it.

    Fun thoughts:

    • All three Manga above, the girl is seated at the right side of the boy. All of them sit at the back of their classes.
    • I don't care about how canon these sequels are. They're just some wholesome What-if? stories to me.
    • Usually each Manga above only features the two main characters in each chapter. Recurring support characters do have relatable personalities though. In Takagi-san case, they have their own Manga.

    What do you think?

I know there are other Manga of this genre being published but I didn't read them, if you liked this, do you have any recommendation? I'll put 'em in my to-read list!

  13. Kaguya Love is war Season 2/Kaguya Love is war temporada 2@takeru2552114d

    EaZ_B0UU8AAr023.jpg

As I had said a few days ago, I finished watching the first season of Kaguya Sama: Love is war and I loved it, so I started with the second season a day later, to obviously come back here to write about how magnificent it seemed to me. A second season that is not far behind in any respect when compared to the first, and that together with its predecessor, create one of the anime that I have enjoyed the most in my entire life.

If I say that it is not far behind compared to its predecessor, I am being modest, since in my opinion, the second season surpasses the first in almost everything. From its opening, which made me a little scared to hear because of the thought “it will be worse than the first”, to the animation and character development. And if I really want to have a reason to say that the second season is better than the first, it is because of such character development, which makes these new situations more believable and more loving, more sensible and more mature. Now, the anime not only focuses on Kaguya and her love for Shigorame, but also shows us the history of other characters and gives us a background for each one, so we can understand why they react in a certain way in each situation

    EYi47NmXQAA3QJF.jpg

As if this were not enough, the direction is still magnificent, with some animation changes and a humor that is as good as that of the first season, but this time with an unmissable soundtrack that combines perfectly with each of the scenes. A whole set of little things that make Kaguya more than just a love and comedy anime.

  14. Kaguya Sama@takeru2552128d

    kaguya3-1000x600.jpg

What happens when you are in love? How you feel? Do you feel uncertain? I don't really know what you could feel with something as ambiguous as love, but the truth is that most have gone through that fear of showing your feelings; Most have gone through the anxiety of being around the person you like, feeling good just from a look or a message. All these sensations are represented in the most charismatic way in the fun anime Kaguya, Love is War, an anime that (as its name says) shows us the "war" that two students have when they are secretly in love with each other.

¿Qué pasa cuando estás enamorado? ¿Cómo te sientes? ¿Sientes incertidumbre?

Talking about a love anime is strange, since I have not seen many and those that I have seen, although they seem good to me, I cannot help but see them as an exaggeration of something as common as love. And although Kaguya is not adjacent to this, since in several parts I felt frustration at seeing the characters caught in awkward situations that they themselves create in their heads, the series also shows you several times cute moments in which you can empathize very easily, making the series a walk to watch. And that's only if we talk about the basic plot ...

Because if we talk about how Kaguya brings something to this kind of anime, it's a whole new world. The direction of the series shows that it is made with love, due to the change in animation and the way in which it resembles a chapter of Monogatari, a chapter that is always filling you with content wherever you look, but without reaching tire at some point. A series that at first glance seems like another love and comedy anime, but that has overtones to be something much better, something that can enter your heart to stay.

  15. Kaguya-sama: Love is War... Funny anime about love and pride@ahmadmanga2649d

One of the most interesting Anime from the last season is Kaguya-sama: Love is War (That's the English title.)

    hdw7tvehvt.jpg

There's a rule in this world. Even between lovers there's a certain hierarchy. The exploiter and the exploited. A winner and a loser.

The one who falls in love first, is the loser.

The Anime follows two prideful members of the the student council of a prestigious high school that teaches the children of high class families.

Kaguya and Miyuki are the top of the school, and there were rumors that they're dating. Because of their pride they both thought they might accept the other if they confessed while begging. They each thought it was a matter of time before the other confess to them.

Half year passed with no development, and their mindset changed from "'I'll accept if (s)he confessed." to "I'll make him/her confess!" and so, started the war between them.

Each episode has one of them plan to make the other confess their love, mostly indirectly. Every action they make is calculated and as the series goes on, you know they both love each other but don't be the one to confess first.

They both have massive pride, and it's fun to see their interactions with each other.

    baa5x183dq.png

I love all the characters in the Anime but my favorite is the narrator! He makes even mundane things the characters do seem funny. The main characters are so cute when they're together. And the secretary is interesting even though she's oblivious to their mind fights!

I haven't seen any anime like this, so please let me know if you know about any similar anime!

  16. Kaguya-sama: Love is Just one Prolonged joke (Or War, Basically the Same Thing)@dlstudios2651d

This is going to be a really odd show to talk about because at its core it is intended to be a romantic comedy centered around two high school students and members of the student council, Kaguya and Miyuki, and their refusal to admit they love each other. The running joke that the series is centered around is this super strategic mental game the two are trying to play in order to get the other person to confess first. Being a comedy, it's not going to leave me with a whole lot to talk about unless I just sit here repeating jokes to you from the show, so it's going to be a short review.

The reason this show is odd to talk about is that the entire premise of the show fails because that's the entire joke of the plot, and it gets old after one episode. Furthermore, the characters don't feel like they have any actual chemistry together, so that leaves you uninterested in the outcome of the romance. On the other hand, the side cast is amazing, and while the joke between the two leads is dull, how it affects others and how they react to it is hilarious. There are also scenes completely separate from the love story that is incredible. Even the leads are solid characters when they aren't interacting with each other.

The same absurdly serious drama that the lead serves as the joke for the lead characters applies to how the other characters are as well, but since the jokes aren't so one-note it works a lot better and doesn't get old. My personal favorite example is Yu Ishigami. There are better moments, but seeing this is what got me to watch the show, and it really does show what makes Yu such a funny character.

Every time the show steps away from the romance, you get hilarious scenes like this. The problem comes in that the about half of the shows run time is dedicated to the terrible joke that is the premise. I love all the details you see in some of the animations, and the grand way it sets up such a silly idea, but it can't escape the fact that it's the same joke driving the main narrative beginning to end.

I'd bet even bigger fans of the show wouldn't be too critical of the idea that the lead characters are the least interesting, even if they disagree with my assessment of them being dull together. Just look at the jokes and memes people share about this show. Based off that I was expecting too see a lot more of Yu and Fujiwara, but in the end, those are just the things about the show people mostly laugh about and share. You see almost no people sharing scenes between the main characters by comparison.

This show has the same kind of appeal to me as something like Scrubs if you've ever seen that show. It's not a show that is honestly worth sitting down and watching, but if you come across a compilation of funny clips you're likely to enjoy yourself quite a bit. Highlight reals of Yu or Chika will definitely make your day, but it's a hard show to recommend because of the premise being dragged out for so much of the shows run time. You may be able to get into it if you're a big fan of romantic comedies, but for anyone else, it just doesn't offer enough to get invested.
