I enjoyed **Obsession (2026)** because it kept me guessing from beginning to end. The suspense was engaging and I liked how the story slowly revealed the truth. overall experience was entertaining and worth watching.

Obsession is a movie that would give you chills down your spine. It explored the darker side of what obsession is. It's also the kind of movie that would make you feel different kinds of emotions.
So this movie is about a guy named Bear. He is too timid and shy to tell his crush, Nikki about his feelings for her. I kept wondering why it was so hard for him to confess his feelings to her. He has known Nikki for a long time.
Bear got chances to tell Nikki about his feelings but he chose not to and that got on my nerves. I mean, how timid can a man be? Bear got a one wish willow. I honestly don't know what on earth he was thinking when he did but that was the beginning of chaos.
The night he got it, he drove Nikki to her house, and once again, Nikki gave him a clear opportunity to tell her if he had any feelings for her. Bear refused to tell her. I was so mad at him in that moment. Next thing, bear brought out the one wish willow, made a wish and then broke it. He wished Perhaps, he didn't believe it would change anything, but on the contrary, it changed everything.
Bear had wished that Nikki would fall very much in love with him, and his wish came true. Nikki became so obsessed with Bear. It was as if she was possessed. Of course, it all resulted in a tragic turn of events.
One thing I love about this movie is that it's so simple, yet so good. This movie was made with a low budget but it did wonders.
The actors did a fantastic job in their roles. One person who stood out for me was Inde Navarrette who played Nikki. Her performance was absolutely incredible. She played the role of a possessed girlfriend perfectly. One thing that baffled me was how she managed to carry out some movements in the movie. The way she walked sometimes was just fascinating.
Her facial expression was everything. There was a scene where Bear asked her a question while they were in a restaurant and suddenly, her face changed and she snapped. The thing about Nikki is that she had episodes. One moment she's so weird and saying strange things. They next moment, she's calm.
Sometimes she would act as if she was crying for help. Next thing, she's acting okay. It gave the impression that maybe the real Nikki was trapped inside, while a whole different kind of person took over.
Obsessive Nikki didn't want to leave bear alone. She wanted to be with him every single moment.
Things go so bad that Bear lost both his friends, Sarah and Ian because of this obsession. Bear tried to undo the spell or whatever it was that made Nikki act that way, but he realized that there was no way out it this. The only way out was if one person died.
The end of this movie was a sad one because even Bear lost his life. Nikki got back to her normal self, but then, lives had already been lost.
This is a movie that would have you interested from the beginning until the end. It's totally worth it.

Hello, movie and TV lovers! I hope you're all doing well. There are stories that leave you blown away by the great performances and how realistic everything feels. Plus, just when you think you're watching a specific type of plot, everything makes complete sense right at the end. That's what happened to me with Obsession—a movie that has been really popular lately. Although I think it came out a while ago, I hadn't had the chance to watch it yet. But it definitely deserves a watch because it's super interesting and offers a fresh take on the thriller and drama genres.
Who hasn't wished for a magic wand or someone who could grant a wish that seems almost impossible to come true? Imagine walking into an occult shop to make a wish or do a ritual, and your life changes forever—literally. This happens to our protagonist, who everyone calls Bear (Michael Johnston), an extremely shy young man with very little confidence when connecting with others, especially women. He starts falling in love with Nikki (Inde Navarrette), a girl he's known since childhood, but he lacks the courage to just approach her and tell her he likes her.
Somehow, he manages to get his wish granted, asking for Nikki to fall in love with him without having to put in much effort or face a potential rejection. Everything starts going just as he hoped—Nikki starts wanting to hang out with him, but it all happens so fast. Although this seems normal to him, they start a relationship that none of their friends can understand. Bear truly feels like his dream has come true, but you have to be careful what you wish for. Once you get what you wanted, it might not be what you expected, or it might be too much for you to handle—just like it was for Bear.
Directed and written by Curry Barker, this film shows the true face of obsession. That simple wish causes Nikki to fall in love in an extreme way, to the point where she doesn't even seem like herself anymore. She starts doing things that seem weird to Bear, but he quickly dismisses them with the thought that "this is just how a woman in love acts," which is more than enough for him and what he feels for her. He got what he wanted effortlessly, but then he has to deal with the jealousy, the mood swings, Nikki's crazy ideas, and her extreme behavior—to the point where he no longer wants to be around her.
The performances were incredible. I found Michael Johnston very endearing, even though at times he had a bit of an attitude like someone who doesn't know what he wants and just expects things to work out through luck or a wish. I had never seen him in other movies before, but I'd love to see him in different stories because I feel he has potential, especially for romance, sci-fi, or drama. Inde Navarrette's performance as Nikki was on another level. What a performance showing intense emotions and living up to such a strange character! She could go from being totally fine to turning into a demon if she wanted to. Her way of expressing herself in the role was truly impressive, even though I don't think everyone liked her character.
Since it's a thriller and drama film, there are plenty of moments that are genuinely scary—like Nikki's mood swings, the things she did "out of love" for Bear, her jealous moments, and one specific scene that left me totally shocked. It was expected, but I didn't realize it would be so intense to watch. The tension throughout the story was very believable. Although I feel both were to blame for the situation, Bear is probably more at fault for making the wish than Nikki, who had no idea she was practically possessed by it. Maybe things could have been different, but that's not how it went.
There is a lot of blood and suspenseful moments where Nikki pops up out of nowhere, building quite a bit of tension. I feel it's one of the best recent movies from the past few years, with the added bonus of how it plays with a person's mind, the way it presents a wish, and the theme of obsession. By the end, I didn't know what to expect, and it was quite shocking. I imagined a different ending, but the one they gave it was very well done, even if it felt a bit sad for one of the characters. You definitely have to watch it—it's super entertaining, and there isn't a single boring moment. 👀🩸

Hay historias que te dejan impresionado, de las buenas actuaciones y de lo realista que parece todo, además, de que piensas que estás viendo algo en específico y resulta que todo cobra sentido al terminar la película. Eso me pasó con Obsession, una película que está muy famosa últimamente y aunque creo que ya tiene algo de tiempo de haber salido, no había tenido la oportunidad de verla. Pero sin duda merece que las personas la vean, porque está súper interesante y es algo diferente a ese estilo de películas de thriller y drama.
Cuanto no hemos querido poder tener una varita mágica o a alguien que nos pudiera conceder algún deseo que parece casi imposible de hacerse realidad. Imagina que llegas a una tienda de objetos para pedir deseos o hacer rituales y te cambia la vida para siempre, literalmente. Esto le pasó a nuestro protagonista a quien todos llaman Bear (Michael Johnston), un joven sumamente tímido con muy poca seguridad para conectar con otras personas pero sobre todo con mujeres. El se empieza a enamorar de Nikki (Inde Navarrette), una joven que conoce desde niños y que no tiene la valentía para acercarse y decirle simplemente que le gusta.
De alguna manera el consigue realizar su deseo, en el pide que Nikki se enamore de él, así sin tener que hacer mucho esfuerzo o enfrentarse a una posible negación por parte de ella. Y todo empieza a salir como el esperaba, Nikki empieza a tener intenciones de salir con él, pero todo pasa como muy rápido. Aunque esto para el le parece normal, ellos comienzan una relación que ninguno de sus amigos logra entender. Sin embargo, Bear realmente siente que su sueño se hizo realidad, pero hay que ser cautelosos con lo que se desea, puede que luego de tener lo que querías ya no sea lo que esperabas o sea demasiado para ti, como le pasó a Bear.
Dirigida y escrita por Curry Barker, este film muestra la verdadera cara de la obsesión. Ese simple deseo hace que Nikki se enamore de una forma extrema al punto en el que ya no parece ni ella misma. Llega a hacer cosas que para Bear parecen raras pero que lo cambia inmediatamente con el pensamiento de que "así se comporta una mujer enamorada" y eso es más que suficiente para él y para lo que siente por ella. Sin ningún tipo de esfuerzo logro tener lo que quería, pero luego tiene que enfrentar los celos, los cambios de humor, las ideas locas de Nikki y su comportamiento extremo al punto de que ya no siente que quiera estar cerca de ella.
Las actuaciones fueron increíbles, Michael Johnston me pareció muy simpático aunque por momentos tenía cierta actitud de persona que no sabe lo que quiere y que además solo espera que las cosas salgan bien con un poco de suerte o con un deseo como él lo hizo. Además que nunca lo había visto en otras películas, me gustaría verlo en otro tipo de historias porque siento que tiene potencial sobre todo para las de romance o de ciencia ficción y drama. La actuación de Nikki Inde Navarrette si estuvo en otro nivel, que mujer para demostrar emociones fuertes y para estar a la altura de un personaje tan extraño como Nikki, ella podía pasar de estar sumamente bien a convertirse en un demonio si así lo quería, fue realmente impresionante su forma de expresarse en el papel, aunque creo que no a todo el mundo le gustó su personaje.
Como es una película de thriller y drama, hay muchos momentos en los que si da miedo lo que se está viendo. Como los cambios de humor de Nikki, las cosas que hacía "por amor" hacia Bear, los momentos en los que tenía celos y hay una escena en específico que me dejó super impresionada y fue algo que se esperaba pero no sabía que podía ser tan fuerte de ver. Estuvo muy creíble toda la tensión que había en la historia, aunque para mí ambos fueron culpables de la situación, tal vez más Bear por pedir el deseo que Nikki quien no sabía que estaba casi que poseída por el deseo y que de alguna manera tal vez las cosas hubieran sido diferentes pero no fue así.
Hay mucha sangre, momentos de suspenso donde aparece Nikki en cualquier lugar y genera bastante tensión. Siento que es una película muy buena de las últimas que han salido en estos años, también el plus de cómo se juega con la mente de una persona, la forma en la que presentan un deseo y también la obsesión de una persona por otra. Al final no sabía que esperar y fue un tanto impactante, me imaginaba otro final pero el que le dieron estuvo muy bien aunque me pareció un poco triste para uno de los personajes. Tienen que verla está muy entretenida y no hay momento en el que te sientas aburrido. 👀🩸

Be careful what you wish for. Yeah, I had to say that first because that was one of the most important things I learned from this movie. You know, the movie is a very interesting one. It didn't look horror-like at first until it started getting to the middle and then towards the end. Well, it's not your regular kind of horror movie, though. But then, I very well enjoyed it.
The movie is titled Obsession, and it is about four friends, Bear, Nikki, Sarah, and Ian. All four of them were very good friends and even working at the same place. They hang out together, play, joke, have fun, and all of that. Now, it happens that Nikki and Bear have been childhood friends, and even more than that, Bear actually had feelings for Nikki, but he was scared to tell her, you know. He felt she might not feel the same for him.
He went to a store one day to get something for Nikki when he found an object called the "one-wish willow." It felt funny at first, but he later bought it and just decided to try his luck. So, he used it the way it was to be used and wished that Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world. Immediately, I mean, immediately everything began to go wrong. He just dropped Nikki off at her house when he made that wish, and instantly the stuff worked. Nikki came back out and started acting weird, even insisting on following him home that night.
It got even more interesting from there. I want to understand how Best feels towards her, though. He's just a shy guy; you know he couldn't say how he felt to her. But he did wrong by getting that one wish from Willow and using it on Nikki. Yeah, he didn't really realize how weighty his wish was; he never knew it would turn out that way.
Ad talking about Nikki, she really, really changed. Like, she became too attached to Bear. She wants to know everything about him and wants to be around him always; she wants to watch him sleep, she wants everything... And you know how creepy that is. Well, I would love to add that she made the movie more interesting. She knows exactly when to show up; she knows exactly when to scream to make your heart skip a beat. She knows when to be calm and how to mix it all. A great actor, I must confess. Even the way she walks at times or the look in her eyes at times makes me scared of her.
There are times you will even see the real Nikki trying to act out of her likeness. It was obvious this is not real. Even Bear knew what he had done and wished for something beyond his control. Ian and Sarah too weren't left out. They knew something was wrong with their friends but didn't know what it was exactly. I might as well add that Sarah actually liked Bear, yeah. She did; it's just that Best had eyes on Nikki. But I love the movie. I would rate it at a solid 80 or above.
I also love the message it passes. Like I said at the beginning, be careful what you wish for. It shows how that we can't force someone to love you all because you desperately want it. The way it's turned out shows clearly that forcing someone to love you will never turn out well. Bear learned, and he learned it the hard way.
This movie is definitely worth watching; at least you as well need to know if they all survived or not, and you need to know if Nikki was ever set free or not, and you as well need to know the end of all four friends. A funny, dark, disturbing, strange, and obsessive movie, I must say.

Desde hace unos días que teníamos planificado ver esta película de la que se está hablando mucho en las redes sociales y hoy que Luna se fue con los abuelos a la playa, era el momento indicado para aprovechar el tiempo solos y ver una película sin las interrupciones de nuestra hija. Y después de haber visto esta nueva producción debo compartirles mis impresiones sobre una película que sin duda me dejó gratamente sorprendido sobre todo en una era donde la industria cinematográfica nos tiene acostumbrados a producciones híper millonarias que muchas veces carecen de alma o narrativa sólida y encontrarse con una propuesta como Obsession viene de maravilla.
We’d been planning to watch this movie—which everyone’s been talking about on social media for a few days now, and today, with Luna off at the beach with her grandparents, it was the perfect time to make the most of our alone time and watch a movie without our daughter interrupting us. And after watching this new film, I have to share my thoughts on a movie that definitely left me pleasantly surprised especially in an era where the film industry has gotten us used to multimillion-dollar productions that often lack soul or a solid narrative. Coming across a film like Obsession is a real treat.
La historia nos presenta a un chico introvertido que tiene que recurre a un artefacto místico para hacer que la chica de sus sueños se enamore de él. Lo que de seguro, igual que yo, se preguntan dónde puedo conseguir esta caja mágica ja ja ja… Lo que este chico no se imaginaba es que la devoción de ella rápidamente se convertirá en algo sofocante, enfermizo y aterrador. En mi humilde opinión, lo que realmente catapulta a esta película es la combinación de un guion inteligente y una dirección precisa que sabe sacarle el máximo a cada escena. Lo que nuevamente sale a resaltar que no es necesario un mega presupuesto para garantiza la calidad de una película pues solo basta tener una buena idea y un gran el equipo de trabajo.
The story introduces us to an introverted guy who has to resort to a mystical artifact to make the girl of his dreams fall in love with him. I’m sure, just like me, you’re wondering where you can get your hands on this magic box, ha ha ha… What this guy didn’t realize is that her devotion would quickly turn into something suffocating, unhealthy, and terrifying. In my humble opinion, what really sets this movie apart is the combination of a clever screenplay and precise direction that knows how to get the most out of every scene. This once again highlights that you don’t need a massive budget to guarantee a movie’s quality all you need is a good idea and a great team.
Aunque la pelicula no evade algunos clichés propios del género psicológico, logra mantenerse original y sumamente entretenida. Otro de sus puntos a favor es el trabajo de los protagonistas dado que los mismos logran transmitir esa incomodidad y tensión claustrofóbica de manera impecable. Como dije mientras la veía, las dos caras de la moneda. Los actores principales logran pasar de la inocencia a la obsesión más pura y enfermiza otorgándonos una excelente actuación. La verdad es que sus reacciones estuvieron muy buenas pues esas emociones requieren un manejo emocional tremendo y ambos supieron entrar al papel que le correspondía. Si, sinceramente los actores supieron brillar.
Although the film doesn’t shy away from some of the clichés typical of the psychological thriller genre, it manages to remain original and extremely entertaining. Another of its strengths is the performances of the lead actors, who flawlessly convey that sense of unease and claustrophobic tension. As I said while watching it, there are two sides to the coin. The lead actors manage to transition from innocence to the purest, most sickening obsession, delivering an excellent performance. The truth is that their reactions were very well done, since those emotions require tremendous emotional control, and both knew how to fully embody their respective roles. Yes, honestly, the actors really shone.
Para mí fue una experiencia totalmente diferente a lo que el género me tiene acostumbrado. La película nos entrega una crítica genial a las dinámicas de pareja, a la codependencia y al concepto del chico bueno que cree poder forzar las cosas así que si suelen disfrutar del cine con buenas actuaciones y guiones que te mantienen incómodo en el asiento sin necesidad de recurrir a efectos absurdos, tienes que darle una oportunidad a Obsesión.
For me, it was an experience completely different from what I’m used to in this genre. The film offers a brilliant critique of relationship dynamics, codependency, and the concept of the “nice guy” who thinks he can force things to happen. So if you usually enjoy movies with great performances and scripts that keep you on the edge of your seat without resorting to absurd effects, you have to give Obsession a chance.

Hello everyone, today I would like to discuss about Obsession which I have been rooting for a long time. Before I go any further, I should warn you that this review contains major spoilers, so stop reading now if you haven't watched the movie yet. I personally think it's one of the best I have recently watched. I am so excited to share about it. Although, I have a busy schedule still I managed to have some time for this movie. I wanted to share my review about it because I have seen many people having misconception about it. I think most of them had only seen the trailer and from reels and they decided to judge it.
I don't think anyone who has watched the movie thoroughly would call it cringe or anything like that. I would ask them to re-watch it because they probably couldn't understand the theme of the movie. So, let me clear it for you guys. I hope after reading my point of view then you can understand it more better.
So, let's talk about the characters, there's a guy who's name is Bear he is pretty introvert you can say that. Like I have seen he is awkward, he is not so confident and doesn't know how to express himself. On the other hand we have Nikki who is nonchalant, she's like a free bird. She is a great friend of bear and as the story progress you can see that how Nikki is so comfortable around Bear. Ian is their common friend and to be honest, I found him as one of the most irritating person in the whole story. There's another important character which is Sarah, I think she was good from her side.
In the beginning of the story Bear shared to Ian how he felt about Nikki. The expressions on Ian's face seemed like he didn't want that to happen. Which was pretty suspicious and I had my eyes on him. I think Bear had fallen for Nikki because she was kind to Bear. He was so awkward type of person so I think he was not able to make any good friends. For the first time someone had treated him so nicely that's what made him think that he has a crush on her. I had noticed one thing at his home every furniture looked from old times and it was a bit weird because he was a young man yet he never decorated the house, maybe he was into old stuff. I don't know but his cat dying like that made me think that he was super careless. As a cat lover I disliked this part of the movie. From the very first scene, the movie gave me an unsettling feeling.
tmdb Furthermore, Bear had bought the One Wish Willow on the day of their trivia night with friends. Because nikki had lost her crystal necklace earlier so Bear wanted to give her something as a gift. He couldn't find any necklace so he bought the One Wish Willow instead. Which was supposed to be her gift. So what was this One Wish Willow exactly? The seller had explained to bear about it. That it will make your one wish come true and many people left complaints about it some of them said it worked and some of them said it doesn't work at all. Yet, Bear decided to buy it.
So, on trivia night Bear finally tries to confess his feelings but Ian keeps getting in the way every time he gets the chance. Which made it obvious that Ian had some sort of things for Nikki and that is why he did not want Bear to confess his feelings. I was already annoyed because if he Ian feelings for Nikki then he could tell his friend right? But what did he do? Trying to make things worse between Bear and Nikki. Anyway, I remember Ian had told Bear to call her "Creepy Nikki" which she always disliked. So it's obvious that he wanted Bear to make Nikki angry. Later when Bear gave Nikki a ride to her house, before leaving Nikki asked if he wanted to confess something but Bear couldn't say it. Also in the end with no brain cells he decided to call her "creepy Nikki". It felt like I never had seen a stupid guy like him lol.
Our Bear decided to break One Wish Willow instead of confessing his feelings to Nikki. He wished that Nikki would love him more than anyone else in the world. After that while he was still in the car Nikki suddenly came back which was creepy. Because I wasn't expecting that thing was supposed to work. From what I have seen in the trailer I thought Nikki was a possessive girlfriend who was not in her right mind. But when I watched it I could realize that she wasn't like that from the beginning. It was bear who wished for it and it became the reality. Nikki began to date Bear and he had no self doubts. There was some events where Nikki was shocked to see herself with Bear. But suddenly she switched her personality. Bear ignored all of it because he was loving the attention Nikki gave. He was yearning for this kind of relationship.
From what I have seen I could tell that Nikki had no control over her body anymore, she was locked in somewhere which was not clearly shown in the movie. But it was said that she had been locked away and someone else is doing all of the things. Bear started to feel suffocated the moment he realized that he wouldn't be able to hang out with his friends and have fun without Nikki. Because that began to disrupt Nikki's behaviour. One of the creepiest scene was when Bear was asleep and Nikki was standing in a corner. That truly scared me to see her like that. Even after all of these weird behaviour, Bear did not try to find a solution or do anything about it.
Bear was fine as long as Nikki was there with him, he didn't care if Nikki was getting weirder day by day. It was seen that Sarah had some sort of feelings for Bear. Not only that Ian and Sarah both found their relationship was wrong. And when she told him that Nikki always had seen him as a brother even that didn't stop him. Bear pretended everything was fine between him and Nikki and which wasn't entirely the truth. I would say he is one of the most selfish and coward person I have ever seen. He did realize at some point that it wasn't going the right way, he decided to contact the One Wish Willow but he didn't ask to break the wish instead he asked that if he could renew it lol. Like seriously! He still wanted Nikki to be in love with him even if it's not her real self.
To be honest, this movie felt like a clear rage bait, every second he was on screen, I wanted to slap Bear and make him come to his senses. I don't think anyone who loves someone would want to see them suffer. While the obsessive version of herself was asleep she pleaded with him to kill her. You know what bear said? "What's so bad about being with me?" Like wtf dude, are you on some drugs? He was so self obsessed he didn't care about what Nikki was going through. There was one scene where I could tell Bear had some feelings for Sarah as well. It proved that he never loved Nikki, he loved the way she treated him. Also, even he got everything from Nikki he was still interested in Sarah. Even after finding out that Ian and Nikki had been having an affair, he still didn't consider ending the relationship.
When Nikki started to murder his friends then he decided to do something about it. He could do only two things one was to make a new wish but one wish per person, another was to kill himself which would free Nikki. But he couldn't make someone else make wishes for him so he decided to make Nikki make that wish. But it wasn't that easy, so he decided to end his life in the bathroom. He swallowed the very pills that had caused his cat's death. And guess what he had changed his mind in the end! Bud didn't have the courage to do that as well! I was extremely pissed, I thought in the end he had at least thought of giving freedom to Nikki but NO! He didn't, but guess what? He got exactly what he deserved. As he desperately tried to vomit up the pills, Nikki had that One Wish Willow and made her own wish—that he would love her just as obsessively as she loved him. That's why he suddenly stops trying to throw up the pills he walks out of the bathroom and shares one final kiss with Nikki.
Nikki was about to end her life but she came to her senses the moment Bear died. Her life was not any better even if she stayed alive. Because she already had murdered two people. I think there's no chances for her survival because police would catch her soon. So, would you still say this movie is about a girl who was obsessed? It's more about an irresponsible, self obsessed guy who only cared about his comfort and he destroyed the lives of the people around him. Nikki was never to blame as she didn't have control over her own body and willingness. I feel the biggest villain for this movie is Bear. So, I hope no one would blame Nikki after knowing the actual facts.
Even though it was a small budget film, I think they had hired great actors and actresses who had done their best. I think it wouldn't be this good if it wasn't the casts. My personal favourite would be (Inde Navarrette)Nikki because of how she changes her behaviour so quick, according to the characters need. The esoteric, spiritual, or magical has always captured my attention, and I prefer movies about heartbreak to those about romantic love 😆, so Obsession had everything it needed to hook me—which is exactly what happened.

Soy de las que creen que los hechizos siempre son malos cuando son enviados hacia otra persona, no existe un hechizo bueno aunque su intención al realizarse sea buena. Por lo que este tipo de magia siempre suele salir mal, en la película se tiene la particularidad que no es una mujer la que lanza el hechizo sino un hombre.
Estas cosas no son para jugar y me encanta que la historia haya planteado que todo inició de forma inocente y que el protagonista pensara en remediar tal acción. Aunque es una película que al final sobrepasa la ficción creando hechos irreales me gusta que pueda recrear cosas terribles que pasan con la hechicería.
En cuanto a las actuaciones estuvieron estupendas, sentí a los personajes auténticos, cercanos como cualquier persona, desarrollaron los personajes para que transmitieran tensión, suspenso y estrés a medida que pasan los minutos.
