Hello and good evening friends of the CineTv community. These days after having gone through a huge scare with my grandmother I decided to choose to relax with one of the many films that had their peak in the genre of catastrophism. The film is called "The Day After Tomorrow" by director Roland Emmerich.

The central theme of the story focuses on how the presence of a series of environmental phenomena such as tsunamis, earthquakes and a heavy snowfall shake humanity in all regions of the globe, all caused by the well-known and warned climate change.

There have been various stories brought to the big screen that have worked on the central theme of today's story. Examples of them have been San Andrés with the main role of Dewayne Johnson and why not The Impossible, and Contagion where in the latter we see the impact of a terrible epidemic that ravages the world, where doctors are the main protagonists.

The most interesting thing about the story is that even though it is a 2004 film production, it still manages to freeze those who see it with fear, even on more than one occasion, as in my case. One of the scenes that had the most impact on me was when the majestic city of New York was devastated by a fierce tsunami, where you can even see a cargo ship without crew, of course, sailing adrift through what were once crowded streets. You can also see, and it is another of the scenes that really struck me, the lack of awareness on the part of even New York authorities, who put the lives of civilians at risk at one point in the film during a heavy snowfall that affected the north of the United States.

Although its soundtrack is not very interesting, the acting of the actors in the film is a brilliant and necessary complement. In the main role we have Dennis Quaid, who played the character of the climatologist. Denis had previously worked in films such as Breaking Away, which is a very interesting romantic comedy that makes him stand out now in this film due to the complexity of his character and script. Following Jake Gyllenhaal, Ian Holm, Emmy Rossum and Sela War, the latter of whom had even worked in the CSI NY series in 2010.

The film itself constitutes another way of alerting us to our actions with respect to nature. It shows us how humans are also so vulnerable that despite having cutting-edge technology, they cannot contain the forces of the climate.

So friends, this was my content for today, I hope you liked it and thanks for reading, commenting and sharing, and I hope you venture to watch a film that, although old, still retains its charms.

Hi friends, welcome to my blog, one of my favorite movies about the climate problems we face today is "The Day After Tomorrow", a film that was released in 2004, directed by Roland Emmerich, which featured extraordinary actors such as: Dennis Quaid, Jake Gyllenhaal, Sela Ward, Emmy Rossum, among others. When this film was released, global warming, the control of pollutant emissions that industrialized countries emit into the air, as well as the hole in the ozone layer and the melting of the arctic poles, were beginning to be talked about with great force.

I remember that at that time I wondered if my generation would have to face the apocalypse that many predicted would happen. When I saw this movie with my friends at the cinema, we were a little scared to see how an entire city was swallowed by water and then a winter storm fell on it leaving everything frozen in its path. It made us think of all those news stories we saw and read about the Arctic melting.

I am from one of the hottest areas of my country, with average temperatures of 36 to 38 degrees Celsius and wind chill of 40 to 45 degrees Celsius. I love the cold and if given the choice to live somewhere else, I would choose a place with cold. I don't know what it's like to go through a snowstorm, but the scenes that my friends and I saw in the movie theater impressed us a lot, one of the ones I remember the most is how it moves, this icy wind that went through the city and whatever it touched turned to ice. When we came out of the movie I remember that we all speculated on what we would do if something like that happened.

It has been 18 years since I saw it and I still see it when it is shown on TV, now there is a better knowledge of the climatic phenomena and that ozone hole that worried us has closed. Nature in its wisdom healed itself, but humanity is still unaware of how fragile the balance of the planet is. Fortunately today there are organizations, groups and individuals dedicated to preserving the environment and monitoring compliance with the rules to do so. This film gave us a glimpse of what could happen to us, yes, we do not understand that the earth needs us to take care of it and that it is up to us to do so.

The After Tomorrow, also teaches us the value of family love and working together, not as separate nations but as citizens of the world, it is sad that catastrophes must happen to remind us that we all belong to the human race and that only together we can take care of the planet. If you have not yet seen this movie, do so, the theme it touches is timeless and even today is a reminder to realize that if we do not take care of the only planet where we live an event like this, as well as others can happen in the future.

The Day After Tomorrow was released in 2004, led by Roland Emmerich and produced by Lions Gate Films, has a duration of 2 hours and 3 minutes. It is a history of action and science fiction, it focuses on the paleoclimatologist Jack Hall which is on an expedition in Antarctica where it is a witness to how ice begins to separate, being an expert on the subject decides to communicate at a conference their appreciation of the incredible and alarming phenomenon equally, reaching the conclusion that this terrible fact is due to global warming so it communicates its concern at a UN conference, as soon as it is aware of its nature.

The construction of the world is bittersweet, the film works in good shape the natural disasters caused by pollution by making them feel very realistic and even cause impact, however it loses the possibility of showing a human race facing such a crisis, it is very superficial with this element of the context that was supposed to be a crucial part of the film since at all times the threat to the species is emphasized; paradoxically it seems more than this global failure facing the United State. I should add that the special effects if they are very well achieved and are quite wonderful in general.

    plot.png

    Property by @Jrjaime

The plot is also bittersweet, starting with its positive points it is made that it is quite misleading with the various times of tension which in the vast majority give life to the film so that this one does not feel tedious at any time, so far all right, the problem arises when such situations feel out of place; it is logically known that it is a movie and does not have to be totally realistic but when the possible filme tries to recreate some real details The above mentioned makes various situations feel like fairly noticeable argumental conveniences; argumental turns are also not the great thing so they do not make up a strong point either.

    characters.png

Characters perform actions that feel important but are more interested in action than the individual itself; the above is because no character possesses an interesting characterization are dolls without personality that do relevant things without being relevant to them. The only one who could speak of as a mediately remarkable character is Jack since he has various roles during the film: A concerned father, a scientist with answers, and a man who is a witness to a great change without possibility of doing anything, this makes him a pretty complete character something that cannot be said of the rest of the characters.

The Day After Tomorrow is a film that plasma a possible reality that the world could go through due to climate change, the thing is that it is a topic that gives for a lot of psychological play due to the mental pressure a human being is subjected to by having to survive a natural disaster of biblical proportions; unfortunately, the film is not up to everything mentioned above, it ends barely reflecting a small vestige of everything it could have been. It's for all of the above that deserves a 3 star rating of 7, it's a tape I recommend watching even once because the main concept that moves to the movie is powerfully interesting.

We must survive, we must continue and we must not stop in the agony of everything reaching a point, a point from which we cannot escape. What does it mean to face reality? Well, it is something that teaches us, it teaches us that we can always go further and that there is always a new day, one that is present in our lives.

This movie is old, but it is in my soul, it is in my memories and in every moment of my childhood. I know this is a review, but I'll tell you something: farther than what you see in me now, always when everything froze I had to look at the next day with a lot of hope.

The world may feel like a tide that covers New York, you and I may be that Federal State of the USA, but farther from that is the will to continue. Everyone chooses the path they wish to take, but it is not that we will be blind, we must go on and we must survive the storm that is now an ice floe.

Freedom is frozen, it is that the statue of liberty is frozen, but further from that we can also restore it again with the thoughts and the unquestionable will that characterizes us, but what is it that characterizes us? In this film it is a struggle against the tide, survival and the banal criteria of humanity. How can we save the planet? Simply, you must hear that everything has begun, but it will also end.

    Contexto || Context

The word to start this is: survive, yes, survive, enduring when everything has begun to change, unquestionably the fact that everything is flooded and the lives of many humans are lost in that unpredictable context, leaves you a mark, is that the world is coming to an end, greenhouse effect? You won't find the answer here, so if you haven't seen the movie, you should take a step through it. Sure, I'll leave something for granted it doesn't have the highest ratings or qualifications, but in my opinion it's worth seeing to get a perspective.

I decided to write about this film because of the current market situation, in my opinion, if there is a tomorrow, it is one that we are building. I think, we can persevere and farther away from it stand firm in the face of everything. Let's go back to the movie, our dear climatologist Jack Hall, like any man of science discovers something super surprising, that surprising, ends up being an astronomical possibility that everything starts to change due to global warming, but you know the words sometimes of the expert men in the matter do not end up being heard by the nefarious politicians, although in reality this sounds very unpredictable.

¿¡No sé qué pensará usted!?
The water is near, it is time to run, how many people will drown, this is like a bad thought, but also a comparative that is appreciated of those who run away quickly when everything is a little bad. I don't know what you will think! But to my way of thinking everyone would start running when he sees that a tsunami is close to take his life, but how many can he save? Is there tomorrow? In my opinion, yes.

    Crítica || Critique

I saw this movie with my mother's sister, you know she is super special to me, she is like my sister, we both fell in that time when the special effects were great, but the plots and dialogues lacked a lot. To you it envelops you, is that it immerses you in the fact, is that the movie sold you in an indisputable way that the world would end, but what about the phrases of each of the characters, I think everything should also go further and no, it emphatically didn't make me cry like Armageddon, don't laugh for this!

Okay, the entire northern United States will freeze after the tsunami, the wise president does not believe in any of the warnings and after the disaster let's forgive the debt with Central America to save the population, give me a little more arguments! Another issue is that I saw the movie repeatedly in some channels in private broadcasting services, you know, they repeated it many times in the Venezuelan private TV! That's why I can mark the resounding fact that there is a lack of argumentation, but I can't deny that the special effects are good.

One of the issues I can appreciate today based on my memories is that it's like a repetitive or continuous pattern, well, I like these kinds of movies! But few are the ones that really appeal to me, 2012 for example.

    Opiniones || Opinions

Two of the roles I liked the most, or will always like, are those of: Jake Gyllenhaal as Sam, and Dennis Quaid as Jack, it is very rare to see a young man adapt quickly to the situation, usually desperation reigns, but Sam maintains restraint, does and performs what his father recommends, even if he has to feel the agony of seeing others leave, leave out of desperation! They did not wait to see tomorrow.

I really liked what you reflected with Jack, far from being a scientist, he is a father, and well, a father risks his life for his son, that's what he does despite losing a friend, you must continue! That friend took a knife and cut, cut the rope for that friend's survival. New York is the destination, finding him, is the missive, and the storm won't matter. It's a very admirable part, despite the lack of the initial argumentative perspectives.

Posturas y Ambientación || Postures and Ambience

I'll stand by my position on the argument, but really the scenes are undeniably unique. I like how everything looks when the tsunami covers New York, when everything starts to freeze, how the ice covers the statue of liberty and how they are all in the library. There is also how those are frozen, frozen, for refusing to be in that place where at least the ice and the storm would not reach them.

Another issue, a bit striking, but with many faults, is when on one occasion they go out to explore and see those who said they could find another frozen destination, but they approach a boat and see a wolf, I remember at that moment I shouted: run, yes I shouted, run! I was drawn to the scene and visualizing that frozen ship felt imposing.

Another issue, which was unique and very striking in the adaptation, is how everything freezes very quickly, that catches the eye and counterbalances the dialogue as well as the lack of plot.

    Síntesis || Synthesis

In short, the film is about an apocalyptic moment, the world is at risk and a scientist discovers the fact; although the power does not take emphasis on his words until everything arrives, arrives at the doors of their homes. Everything will be flooded, frozen, but it will also effect reciprocal damage.

Who will survive? Simply, the one who is stronger, the one who overcomes his fears and walks in his own transcendence that the predictable is not always the best for everyone.

Desenlace, Reflexión y Opiniones || Outcome, Reflection and Opinions

No te rindas, vive, sobrevive, persevera y avanza.
The film leaves you with a very clear and marked message and it is: yes, there is tomorrow, there is that day that will allow us to continue and go on. Do not give up, live, survive, persevere and move forward. The steps that are in you are those that help you to continue without fear that the ice consumes you. Warm your soul, warm your body and above all warm your life until you can continue.

The tide, the ice storm will pass and you will be able to scream, but further away from this look that everything is indisputably possible. In the film it is made clear that nothing, absolutely nothing, is static, that is why, if that is why you must continue. The gloom, the things that end the world have an end point and that point is the moment when each of us can reflect on what is the right thing to do.

This is the message, this is the message of this film that froze time and imprisoned the lives of millions, but opened the light for those who persevered with the desire to look forward to tomorrow.

  5. The Day After Tomorrow: A pleasant disaster movie@claudio831807d

I am a lover of disaster movies, I like a lot of those films that involve natural-type catastrophic scenes, both for the special effects that are often incredibly realistic and because I really like watching the devastating power of nature. Last night I watched on Disney + the movie The Day After Tomorrow by Roland Emmerich, a master in this field, and I remember well when I went to the cinema to watch it with my friends.

    92847_zhenya.jpg

The film back in 2004 found a great success and was among those who obtained the highest grossing of the season, I was really excited and a friend of mine even saw it three times. The director highlights the consequences of the bad relationship between man and nature and how his villainous actions have consequences on the entire ecosystem, unleashing the latter's fury. According to the vision of the director Roland Emmerich, nature unleashes a new ice age that paralyzes the entire world, causing millions of deaths, a choice much criticized by scientists who consider this hypothesis very rare.

The film, however, managed to capture the attention of the public, both for its special effects and for the issues dealt with that did not leave indifferent. The director invested a good 200,000 dollars to make his production ecological, money that was partly used for planting new trees in the places where the scenes of the film were shot.

    ** PLOT **

Research by climatologist Jack Hall indicates that global warming could trigger a sudden and catastrophic change in our planet's climate. His excavations in the Antarctic ice show that something like this may have already happened 10,000 years ago. Sudden and dramatic weather events occur in different parts of the world: huge hailstones lash Tokyo, hurricanes of unprecedented violence hit Hawaii, New Delhi is buried under snow, and Los Angeles is swept away by a series of devastating tornadoes. While Hall is at the White House to raise the alarm, his son Sam finds himself trapped in sub-zero New York. Hall will have to travel to save what he holds most dear, but not even a scientist of his fame is prepared for what is to come.

If you are a lover of special effects and disaster movies, The Day After Tomorrow is a film that definitely shouldn't be missing from your list. The stories of the characters are not treated as they deserve, so do not expect an introspective film but a pleasant film to watch in the company of friends, I would avoid viewing it for minors for some certainly not ideal.

    Thanks for reading my post

    ITA

  6. Reseña del filme "The day after tomorrow" (2004)@vickaboleyn1850d

  7. [MOVIE REVIEWS] The details and emotional model of the disaster movie-"The Day After Acquired"@filoso2051d

Compared with other movies that blindly render disaster scenes, "The Day After Acquired" has two aspects that are particularly good: details and emotions.

    20090224125136283_copy

People who have seen the disaster movie "The Day After Day" can't help but ask, is it because the disaster described in the movie hit the earth? But not. This is just an ordinary cold wave, but the intensity and scope are rare in recent years. The severe cold in the movie has broken through the limit that humans can bear. It will be the glacial century for humans. Because the movie was released in 2004 and it has been more than ten years since, there is no need to worry about spoilers. I believe readers who love science fiction movies or disaster movies have already watched this movie. Although the movie is about the extreme cold of the earth, the beginning of the film is cut from a debate about the greenhouse effect and government finance. The setting of this scene is very clever. The first is that the global warming brought about by the greenhouse effect will trigger the earth. With an unprecedented cooling down, the protagonist and meteorologist Dr. Hall of the film explained this terrible viewpoint to a group of officials who hold the lifeblood of the earth's economy, hoping that they can make corresponding preventive preparations in time, and at the same time change their blindly demanding outlook on development. The second line shows the government's tough attitude, which paved the way for future disasters, and at the same time, it went straight to the last scene. With the president's apology, the beginning and the end echoed neatly and beautifully. General disaster movies focus on the shock and impact brought to mankind after the disaster, "The Day After Acquired" is no exception, the huge waves, the wind and snow, even if you nest on a warm sofa to watch this movie Live a cold war. In order to make the effect of the freezing cold more realistic, the production staff did not set up the scene at the photography base, but transferred the crew to Montreal, Canada for winter shooting. I don't know if it should be said that Tianzhuren is still unpredictable. The winter in Montreal was one of the coldest on record. The difficulty of film making is evident from this. But unlike other movies that blindly render disaster scenes, "The Day After Acquired" has two aspects that are particularly good: details and emotions. The overwhelming disaster scenes are shocking, but for an excellent movie, the rationality of the details cannot be ignored. I still remember the first time I watched this movie with a friend. Not long after it started, because the temperature dropped sharply, the helicopter in the sky was frozen down. It can be imagined how terribly low temperature it takes to destroy the helicopter in flight. Friends also expressed surprise. After the plane landed, a pilot walked out of the cabin. My friend is nitpicking, saying that he can freeze the helicopter, which is definitely more unbearable. As if sensing his doubts, the driver who had just opened the cockpit before stepping out instantly became an ice sculpture. There is also a scene of heavy snow in New Delhi, India. However, friends who know geography know that New Delhi has a tropical monsoon climate and a mild climate. The year is divided into a cool season, a hot season and a rainy season. Even in the cool season, the average temperature is around 14 degrees. In order to be able to photograph the snow-covered New Delhi, the crew specially airlifted handicrafts, rickshaws, cars and other props from India, and also used thousands of Indian nationals as extras. Such details can be seen everywhere. For example, the hail that fell from the sky in Tokyo, Japan was not made by computers, but the hail that the staff polished ice into the size of a table tennis ball was thrown down from a height. Of course, the director has not been able to cover everything. He only takes care of the details of the disaster, but ignores the daily life of the characters. In the film, Dr. Hall's son Sam trapped in the New York City Library did not grow a beard for several days, and was often teased by movie fans. In conclusion, this sentence brings out the second part of the film that stands out: emotion. Sam and his classmates came to New York to participate in the debate. They were stranded in the New York City Library by the severe cold and flood. In order to keep warm, they had to burn books. When knowledge and life diverge, it is understandable to choose the latter. After all, we cannot require everyone to be a saint. Even if it is a saint, we need to distinguish which one is more important. Dr. Hall has been busy with work, and his relationship with his son Sam is not good. This can be seen from the scene of the see-off at the airport. The attack of the low temperature storm gave them a chance to reconcile. Dr. Hall decided to go to New York to rescue his son. This is the main line of the film. If you think about it carefully, it also has the meaning of the main theme of American movies, that is, personal heroism. Another major emotional expression is the love between Sam and classmate Laura who are trapped in the library. It is very easy to get along with the sparks of love in special, especially difficult and dangerous environments. Love is always a heart-warming move in any harsh environment. These are the highlights of the movie. In addition to these two main lines, there are also many bridges that show the love of the world. For example, Sam ventured out to find treatment for strangers he didn’t know, such as learning that Dr. Hall was going to save His son Shi resolutely walked with him two good buddies, one of whom sacrificed his ego during the journey in order to take care of the overall situation. The true feelings that can be seen everywhere are touching. The ice and snow did not freeze the care among people. Finally, as usual, review the main creation of the movie. Speaking of film director Roland Emmerich, perhaps Chinese audiences are not very familiar with it, but let’s talk about the films he made, "2012", "Godzilla", "Independence Day", "Ten Thousand Years Before History", These movies are familiar to everyone. Emmerich is famous for science fiction and disaster films, and enjoys a master status in the field of disaster films. Regarding movie actors, the familiar face is Jack Gyllenhaal who plays Sam. He is well known by Chinese audiences for his participation in "Brokeback Mountain" filmed by Chinese director Ang Lee. Jack Gyllenhaal has also shot a well-known science fiction film "Source Code", and he will have the opportunity to bring you reviews of this movie in the future. Now that we talk about "Source Code", let me be more verbose. The highly anticipated game movie "World of Warcraft" directed by Duncan Jones, director of "Source Code", is expected to be released in North America in March this year. It will be a game. Fan’s carnival. Oh, I almost forgot, "Independence Day 2" directed by Emmerich will be released in June this year, but the absence of Will Smith makes the majority of movie fans' expectations for this sci-fi blockbuster slightly reduced.
