Have you guys watched "The Purge", yet? I actually haven't watched it but a few days back, I and my papa decided to watch "The First Purge" on Netflix and recently "The Purge: Anarchy" was also released there, so we'd be watching it soon.
It's a little weird since the dates of the release of these movies are pretty much far apart, but I don't think it really makes a difference. I mean... I know what "purging" is about, but I'm not really sure whether the characters in each movie have to do with each other. I've only watched the fourth movie which ironically is entitled "The First Purge".

As you have seen in the trailer above, the movie is about the first ever purge. "Purging" as they call it is somehow a sociological and legal way for people to vent their anger for twelve hours in a specific place. According to the theory, the result would decrease the crime rate.
They consulted some sociologists to go through with the process with them, but actually, the government had another reason for doing such action. In order to cover up all the wrong doings they've done and to eradicate the poor, they wanted this social project to be successful.

The purge was scheduled to be held in Staten Island. Most of the people living their are impoverished, so those who were willing to join the project were financially compensated. However, there were also people who were greatly against it. Others didn't just care about it.

Majority of the people in the island, didn't take it seriously. Some joined only for the compensation, while others took the opportunity to commit illegal acts like stealing and such. Well, there were few people who obviously wanted to do some killing like a character named "Skeletor".

He was the one who committed the first kill of the night. Well, he has always wanted an outlet for all the aggression he has inside of him. If I may, I believe he's a crazy psycho who's thirsty for blood.
Apart from him and a few number of people, the supposed to be "purge night" was silent. The government didn't want this result though. They wanted to prove that this project is a success and wanted to continue with the said situation to achieve their filthy goals. Of course, they were prepared. They send in "masked purgers" in the area to do vast purging! However, they forgot one thing.

Staten Island has their own "Rambo" under the identity of "D". Well, that's my and my papa's impression of him. Actually, he's the top drug lord in the area... but despite that, he has strong feelings and connections to the people around him, especially his ex-girlfriend Nya who is a really lovely lady. She led the demonstration against the project, but to no avail.
Now the question is... who will survive the purging? YES... as you know, this was just the first purge, so somehow you can figure out whether this social project is a success or not.
Anyway, it was very exciting for me and my papa that we became curious about all the other Purge movies. If there's a chance to watch all of them, then why not? :) It's fun to see some bloody action!
