Hello friends, I am Joy. Today I am going to review the new film of the Witcher universe The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep. After watching the trailer of this film, it was clear that it focuses on the side story. But on the other hand, being an animated film of the Witcher universe, my expectations were also a bit high. I thought that maybe this film would do something good and special in the Witcher universe.

Initial Reaction & Expectations

Talking about the live-action series, initially its graph was going up brilliantly with Henry Cavill. But Netflix almost ruined this universe with its interference. This situation is like firing a missile on a sinking Titanic. If they save it with a new actor in the next two seasons, then it is fine, otherwise this franchise will end completely. Netflix has also understood this now, and perhaps that is why they have made this new film as damage control.

Now take a look at the story. The film focuses on one of the Witcher's side missions, particularly the character of Yasmin and her bond with her friend. Their relationship is a symbol of brother-sister love, which is explored a bit. Also, the story of this universe shows a king and his son, who are madly in love with a mermaid.

Story Summary

The people of the kingdom want the king to come out of this love story so that they can save their kingdom. Meanwhile, there are many political conspiracies going on. The Witcher is tasked with investigating a special case. If he does not solve this case on time, then war is certain between two kingdoms - one of humans on land and the other of mermaids. The underwater scenes of the mermaids are dubbed in Hindi, giving the audience some relief.

The film is about an hour and a half long. Is it worth the time to watch it? Let's talk about its details now. I didn't have much expectation from this film, but Netflix has taken a step towards damage control and has paid a lot of attention to the Witcher's side missions in this animated film. This surprised me a lot.

I can say that this film is worth the time, but it should not be put on the level of that first animated project. This is the story of a different mission, which presents its simple story completely by staying in the Witcher universe. To understand this, you should have a good knowledge of the Witcher universe - for example, what is the significance of Jennifer to the Witcher, or what the Witcher has done in his past.

If you understand this universe, then you will like this film even more. Apart from the Witcher, good attention has also been given to the other characters. Netflix has shown its 5% in this film, which is the specialty of their content.

Talking about the visuals, a little 3D effect at the end looks strange, but still this film is in a position to survive. It's worth giving it a try. The Hindi dub is great, and this is a movie you can't watch with your family. But it's clear that if Netflix wants to take this universe forward honestly, this style of animation is the right fit.

They lost one of the best actors in live-action, Henry Cavill, and the audience is witness to how the whole story was ruined. After Henry Cavill's departure, many fans have sworn not to watch the upcoming seasons. Those who watched the last season must have also been disappointed at how such a great franchise was ruined.

My Rating

Now, let's talk about the ratings. For action, this movie deserves 3 stars out of 5. For comedy, which failed to make me laugh, 1 star out of 5. For drama, 2.5 stars out of 5. For suspense, 0 stars out of 5 according to me, but for a new audience, it can work to some extent. Talking about horror and feel, both ratings have been taken into consideration, and in this category it deserves 2 stars out of 5.

For the mass audience, this content is A-. Critics will give it a rating of B. In my opinion, it deserves B+ in terms of enjoying it. This is a content worth passing time. If you have time, do watch it.

Todas las aventuras de Geralt de Rivia dan para hacer unas cuantas películas, sin mencionar la serie la cual está próxima a estrenarse y obviamente los videojuegos. El día de hoy vamos a hablar de un film animado que estrenó Netflix el cual puede que te guste mucho o no, esto dependerá de que tan fanatico seas de la franquicia. Estamos ante una historia en donde lo que predominará es el amor, la traición y los prejuicios entre dos especies completamente diferentes. Es una película que no tenía en el radar, no sabía de su existencia pero después de haberla vista no es que haya terminado decepcionado sino que siento que puede que le haya faltado algo más.

All the adventures of Geralt of Rivia are enough to make a few movies, not to mention the series which is about to be released and obviously the video games. Today we are going to talk about an animated film released by Netflix which you may like it or not, this will depend on how fanatic you are of the franchise. We are facing a story where what will predominate is love, betrayal and prejudice between two completely different species. It's a movie that I didn't have on my radar, I didn't know of its existence but after having seen it, it's not that I ended up disappointed but I feel that it may have lacked something more.

En esta oportunidad tenemos a Geralt, con la voz del gran Doug Cockle, llegando a un pueblo costero el cual aparentemente está sufriendo una serie de ataques realizados por unas criaturas marinas. Geralt viene con el inseparable Jaskier, el trovador que va vociferando todas las aventuras de este brujo. Una vez en el sitio y tras un primer encuentro con estos seres él se da cuenta de que algo no está bien y que una de las partes está mintiendo. Al final la idea es tratar de evitar una guerra pero la parte humana, liderada por un rey, pareciera que no está muy dispuesta a eso. En este ínterin Geralt conoce a Essi (Christina Wren) quien también se unirá a la expedición.

In the end the idea is to try to avoid a war but the human side, led by a king, seems to be not very willing to do so. Cuando hablo de una historia de amor es porque el origen de todo esto es precisamente ese sentimiento y es que un humano está enamorado de una sirena lo que inevitablemente traerá un conflicto entre los dos mundos. Una cosa lleva a la otra y por momentos parecerá que no se pueda hacer nada. Acá entra Geralt y es porque hay una fuerza mucho más poderosa en las sombras moviendo todos los hilos de la situación. A ver, de buenas a primeras todo esto se me parece un poco a la historia de La Sirenita de Disney, tiene muchas similitudes, incluso hay hechos específicos que son casi iguales; no llega a ser una copia pero si hay elementos parecidos por lo que esto pudiera ser para un niño de 7 años o un adulto.

Creo que la intención fue hacerlo más friendly o familiar, no se, pero ese toque lúgubre o maligno no se ve. Otra cosa que noté es que la movilidad de este Geralt es muy parecida a la de un anime, se entiende que no es un humano y que cuando toma esa pócima para "transformarse" cobra una energía y fuerza sobrenatural pero algunos movimientos fueron demasiados exagerados sabiendo realmente lo que él puede hacer. Diría que esto es lo único "malo" que tampoco es grave. La animación es muy buena, la fluidez, lo gráfica que es, el nivel de detalle, está muy bien logrado. Usan un poco el 3D y la verdad es que se ve bastante bien.

I would say that this is the only “bad” thing that is not serious either. The animation is very good, the fluidity, how graphic it is, the level of detail, is very well achieved. They use a bit of 3D and the truth is that it looks pretty good.

Los puntos a favor creo que pueden ser su doblaje (veanla en idioma original), de hecho la voz de Yennefer la hace la misma actriz que la interpreta en la serie (Anya Chalotra), esto es un plus porque si es de mucha calidad. Muchos podrán pensar que esto no es importante pero si lo es, la personalidad de los personajes depende de esto. Lo otro son algunos de estos personajes, creo que los villanos son lo mejor acá. Puedes deducir a uno de ellos pero al otro no, no lo ves venir. Muy bien construidos y con sus personalidades bien marcadas. Al final de cuentas es una película decente y para pasar el rato, no es mala ni mucho menos. Tiene sus huecos en la trama pero compensa con todo lo demás.

Yo le doy un 6.5/10. Me faltó más maldad. Es una historia de un amor imposible que termina arrastrando otras cosas por lo que mucha potencia no tiene a nivel de trama. Echenle un ojo, no es un desastre y si son fanáticos de la saga pues no está de más. Dura hora y media y está en Netflix como ya se imaginarán. Les dejo el tráiler.

I give it a 6.5/10. I missed more evil. It's a story of an impossible love that ends up dragging other things so it doesn't have much power in terms of plot. Kang Hei Chul’ is the director in charge of this animated film of the famous sorcerer from the novels written by Andrzej Sapkowski.

I think his work has been very good because we finally see our sorcerer with very dynamic fights and action, but also very spectacular, something that is very necessary for the character of Gerald of Rivia in his adventures.

The script is based on one of Andrzej Sapkowski's stories; it is well written, but above all very entertaining because the time flew by.

It develops Jaskier's character much more and we know the real place of origin of the character, not the one that the bard makes known to everyone during all his adventures, and we also see Gerald's suffering for being separated from Jennefer.
I liked the animation better than the previous film, which, although I also liked the latter and I think it is quite good, especially because it feels much more dynamic, because the fights stand out much more with the style of this animation. The Witcher saga is very well suited to this art style.

The Witcher: ‘Sirens of the Deep’ is a story that takes us directly to the ‘Continent’, where both Gerald of Rivia and Jaskier continue their adventures and, this time, the latter will return to his true place of origin.

A good animated film from ‘The Witcher’ universe that further develops Jaskier's character, as well as introducing us to his origin.

I was recently around here, but I couldn't resist to visit the community again thanks to an animated movie of one of my favorite universes, I'm back here to share with you my opinion about it, the universe I'm talking about is The Witcher, giving us a snack to continue waiting for its fourth season with a new actor which we don't know how it will turn out.

The Witcher: Sirens of the Deep

This animated film takes us to one of the adventures famous white wolf with his friend Jaskier, both arrive in a kingdom to perform a job that requires the skills of the witcher to kill a creature, which is accused of killing some fishermen, but when he is about to achieve his mission, he is approached by a newt and with his family, begs clemency for this being, making him note the white wolf that the creature has seams in his mouth, so it is impossible to have performed the acts of which they are accused.

As it is notorious in the seas of this kingdom live mermaids and tritons, which allowed the princess of the marine kingdom to fall in love with the terrestrial prince and vice versa, both struggle not to lose their love and prevent their kingdoms from facing each other in an imminent war, so Geralt along with his friend and a beautiful young woman investigate to find the real culprit of all the deaths in the area.

I liked this animated movie that they had the delicacy to put the same voices to the characters we already know, the fact that they introduced new creatures in new environments and the possibility that Geralt could fall in love with someone else.

Also that there was a bit of humor using the character of Jaskier of whom we know a little more of his past in this film and thanks to the animation we were able to enjoy the skills of this hunter in a way that only animations or special effects allow.

As to whether the film has substance, the truth is that no, it is somewhat superficial and we could only say that it gives us a walk through one of the journeys and adventures of this famous character, in that sense the animated film that preceded it (The Witcher: The Nightmare of the Wolf) was more successful and tells the story of the mentor of the white wolf and had more substance letting us know the reasons why there is no longer how to create more witches.

On the other hand, although the animation highlights some actions, on the other hand, it ruins others, because in some moments there are static backgrounds and that ruins some scenes and not to mention when they sing, I felt I was in front of a children's movie, besides that, due to the plot, at one point I thought I was in front of a new version of Hans Christian Andersen's story, The Little Mermaid.

In short, this new installment of the saga has its pros and cons, but I think it can do a better job for a saga that is so well known and admired. I give it a 4 out of 10.

Hace poco estuve por acá, pero no pude resistirme a visitar de nuevo la comunidad gracias a que se presentó ante mí una película animada de uno de mis universos favoritos, estoy aquí de regreso para compartir con ustedes mi opinión al respecto, el universo del que hablo es The Witcher, dándonos un tentempié para continuar esperando su cuarta temporada con un nuevo actor lo cual desconocemos como resultara.

The Witcher: Sirenas de las profundidades

Esta película animada nos lleva a una de las aventuras famoso lobo blanco junto a su amigo Jaskier, ambos arriban a un reino para realizar un trabajo que requiere de las habilidades del brujo para matar a una criatura, a la que se le acusa de matar a unos pescadores, pero cuando ya está a punto de lograr su misión, se le acerca un tritón y junto a su familia, pide clemencia por este ser, haciéndole notar al lobo blanco que la criatura tiene costuras en su boca, por lo que es imposible que haya realizado los actos de los que se les acusa.

Como ya es notorio en los mares de este reino viven sirenas y tritones, lo que permitió que la princesa del reino marino se enamorara del príncipe terrestre y viceversa, ambos luchan por no perder su amor y evitar que sus reinos se enfrenten en una inminente guerra, así que Geralt junto a su amigo y una hermosa joven investigan para dar con el verdadero culpable de todas las muertes de la zona.

Ahora bien, vemos a aquí a un Geralt con aspecto y voz como la de la serie y también fragmentos de escenas relacionadas con la serie ya conocida, donde se le ve junto a Yennefer la hechicera de quien está enamorado, dándonos a entender que la pareja se encuentra nuevamente distanciada, y que no de por diversas razones no terminan de establecerse como pareja.

Me gustó de esta película animada que tuvieron la delicadeza de colocar las mismas voces a los personajes que ya conocemos, el que presentaran nuevas criaturas en ambientes nuevos y la posibilidad de que Geralt pudiera enamorarse de alguien más.

También que no faltara un poco de humor usando al personaje de Jaskier de quien conocemos un poco más de su pasado en esta película y gracias a la animación logramos disfrutar de las habilidades de este cazador de una manera que solo las animaciones o los efectos especiales permiten .

En cuanto a si la película tiene sustancia, la verdad es que no, queda algo superficial y solo podríamos decir que nos da un paseo por uno de los viajes y las aventuras de este famoso personaje, en ese sentido la película animada que le precedió (The Witcher : La pesadilla del Lobo) fue más acertada y nos narra la historia del mentor del lobo blanco y tuvo más sustancia haciéndonos saber las razones por las cuales, ya no hay como crear mas brujos.

Poro otra parte aunque la animación resalta algunas acciones, por otro lado, arruina otras, pues en algunos momentos hay fondos estáticos y eso arruina algunas escenas y ni hablar de cuando cantan sentí que estaba ante una película infantil, además de que por la trama en un momento pensé que me encontraba ante una nueva versión del cuento de Hans Christian Andersen, La Sirenita.

En resumen, esta nueva entrega de la saga tiene sus pros y sus contras, pero considero puedo hacerse un mejor trabajo para una saga que es tan conocida y admirada. le doy un 4 de 10
