   Since I was a child I have had the opportunity to see several Pokémon movies and I even got to play it on the Ds and several video game consoles, which begins a series of animated characters or those little monsters of that great franchise, which already has a few years, where each of his films and video games have a great touch of production and originality, plus the various games, challenges, adventures and most impressive the name of each of these monsters to be recognized. Over time I left them and never played again, as things were exaggerated and the movies that were released became very repetitive, just to keep the public and fans attentive, no doubt the franchise still continues and released a new production known as Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, so I was encouraged to see it, even though we already know the life of that yellow Pokémon and each of its powers.

   Desde pequeño he tenido la oportunidad de ver varias películas de Pokémon e incluso llegué a jugarlo en el Ds y en varias consolas de videojuegos, la cual da inicio a una serie de personajes animados o esos pequeños monstruos de esa gran franquicia, la cual ya cuenta con unos años, donde cada una de sus películas y videojuegos cuentan con un gran toque de producción y originalidad, además los diversos juegos, desafíos, aventuras y lo más impresionante el nombre de cada uno de esos monstruos para así ser reconocidos. Con el tiempo los fui dejando y más nunca volví a jugar, ya que las cosas fueron exagerando y la película que sacaban se volvieron muy repetitivas, solo para mantener al público y a los fanáticos atentó, sin duda la franquicia aún continúa y estrenaron una nueva producción conocida como Pokémon: Detective Pikachu, así que me anime a verla, a pesar de que ya conocemos la vida de ese Pokémon amarillo y cada uno de sus poderes.

   From the beginning we can notice the story of a very interesting young man and it is something that perhaps many young people today can pass, as is the lack of the presence of their parents, either by various occupations or in this case to be a great detective, where little by little will have to face a series of challenges and missions, in order to give meaning to his life, also will have the support and presence of that Pokémon to create a great plot loaded with lots of action, fantasy and seek each of the possible solutions to the problem, highlighting each of the skills that both have. Also, one of the things that I liked and impressed me about the production is the city of Pokémon, something that was the first time I saw it and certainly makes us think, since it is a city where humans and Pokémon coexist, which leads us to wonder how is that possible, so they manage to mix many things that appear, to cause some intrigue in the film.

   Desde un principio podemos notar la historia de un joven muy interesante y es algo que quizás muchos jóvenes hoy en día pueden pasar, como es la falta de la presencia de sus padres, ya sea por diversas ocupaciones o en este caso por ser un gran detective, donde poco a poco tendrá que ir enfrentando una serie de desafíos y misiones, para así darle un sentido a su vida, además contará con el apoyo y la presencia de ese Pokémon para así crear una gran trama cargada de mucha acción, fantasía y buscar cada una de las posibles soluciones a dicho problema, destacando cada una de las habilidades que cuentan ambos. Además, una de las cosas que me gusto y me impresionó de la producción es la ciudad de Pokémon, algo que era la primera vez que lo veía y sin duda nos pone a pensar, puesto que es una ciudad donde los humanos y los Pokémon conviven, la cual nos lleva a preguntarnos ¿Cómo será posible eso?, de esa manera logran mezclar muchas cosas que van apareciendo, para así causar un poco de intriga en la película.

   With the passage of time this Pokémon franchise has achieved a great impact and a great evolution is noticed from the first movie to this last one, since the years go by and the technology evolves and a great series of things that can be appreciated in this last movie that are incredible. However, one of the things that will always be preserved is that the Pokemon will always be the same and this movie shows that some of them are very scary to see them for the first time by the way they were made, no doubt they are all in the video games just need to capture them, as we have also seen them in the TV series, in games and various productions. This Pikachu is not at all pleasant and there are parts where it appears suddenly and causes a great impact.

   Una producción que está cargada de muy buena esa escena, además la fantasía juega un gran papel desde que empieza hasta que termina para así poder lograr recrear todo eso, sorprendiendo con un gran trabajo, puesto que logran unir varios tiempos en la película, debido a las aventuras y desafíos que se van desarrollando en la ciudad de Ryme City y de esa manera se vuelve interesante y no como las anteriores películas que solo se ponen es a pelear, además los diversos efectos especiales que usaron para construir un mundo increíble. Como también resalta, que a veces no nos podemos dar por vencido hasta el momento final, sin haber luchado y descubrir cada una de las oportunidades y sobre todo la verdadera historia de ese Pokémon, es aquí donde la acción y los momentos de locura nunca pueden faltar.

   Con el paso del tiempo esta franquicia de Pokémon ha logrado un gran impacto y se nota una gran evolución desde la primera película hasta esta última, puesto que los años pasan y la tecnología evoluciona y una gran serie de cosas que se logran apreciar en esta última película que son increíbles. Sin embargo, una de las cosas que siempre se va a conservar es que los Pokemones siempre serán los mismos y esta película se nota que alguno de ellos dan mucho miedo al verlos por primera vez por la forma como los hicieron, sin duda todos están en los videojuegos solo hace falta capturarlos, como también ya los hemos visto en las series de televisión, en los juegos y varias producciones. Este Pikachu no es nada agradable y hay partes donde aparece de repente y causa un gran impacto.

In addition, others who stood out is the girl, as it gives a good touch of love to the film, with a great personality and without her presence would not be anything good and the life of the young man would be a big disaster.

   Una película que cuenta con muy pocos personajes, puesto que la mayoría son Pokémon, sin duda los poco que salen le ponen un gran desempeño y logra destacarse durante la misma y verlos trabajar es lo máximo. Uno de ellos es Tim, siendo ese joven que está en busca de descubrir la verdad, la cual cuenta con una gran personalidad y su manera de pensar y hacer las cosas son increíbles, a pesar de que a veces cuenta con partes que son muy chistosas destacando ese gran humor, la cual logra desarrollar un gran vínculo de amistad y cariño con dicho Pokémon, Pokémon que es un poco feo, sin duda cuenta con un gran papel y una serie de responsabilidad que están en sus manos y lo mejor es cómo va haciendo las cosas todo lento y calmado, además se destaca por tener una serie de habilidades que permiten defenderse de los enemigos, ambos logran ser el mejor equipo. Además, otras que se destacó es la chica, ya que le da un buen toque de amor a la película, con una gran personalidad y sin la presencia de ella no sería nada bueno y la vida del joven sería un gran desastre.

   A movie that I liked, I had fun watching it, I laughed and above all to see again each of those pokemon, which have become history, going from cards to a movie theater, it is impressive, also stands out for very good messages where the family is the most beautiful thing and you have to take advantage of every opportunity, and not give up until you achieve the goal. A story that perhaps can continue and see what can surprise us later, and thus continue learning and knowing the life of each of these pokemon. A movie that is perfect for all ages and if you are a Pokémon fan this movie will be for you.

   Una película que me gusto, me divertí viéndola, me ríe y sobre todo volver a ver a cada uno de eso pokemones, que se han convertido en historia, pasando de cartas a una salas del cine, es impresionante, además se destaca por muy buenos mensajes donde la familia es lo más bonito y se tiene que aprovechar de cada oportunidad, además no rendirse hasta conseguir el objetivo. Una historia que quizás pueda continuar y ver con que nos pueda sorprender más adelante, y de esa manera seguir aprendiendo y conociendo la vida de cada uno de esos pokemones. Una película que es perfecta para toda las edades y si eres fanático de Pokémon esta película será para ti.

   Saludos queridos cinéfilos. No puedo declarar fan de Pokémon, ya que para eso me falta muchísimo, pero si me ví varios (bastantes) capitulos de la serie y los disfruté mucho, claro, el tiempo ha pasado y la memoria puede fallar un poco, pero cuando mi hija mayor me dijo para ver "El Detective Pikachu" juntas, no dudé en aceptar.

   Comencemos por la portada de la película, ese pikachú me da miedito 😂🙊, sin verla, llegué a pensar que quizás se volvía malo o peligroso y me daba una impresión de ternura y miedo al mismo tiempo, pero igual acepté verla y le dimos play a la película. Por cierto, mi hija ama a Pikachu. Ella dice que es muy tierno y lo imita al hablar.

I can't declare myself a Pokémon fan, since I still have a long way to go, but I did watch several (quite a few) episodes of the series and I enjoyed them a lot, of course, time has passed and memory can fail a little, but when my oldest daughter told me to watch "Detective Pikachu" together, I didn't hesitate to accept.

   Let's start with the cover of the movie, that pikachu scares me 😂🙊, without seeing it, I came to think that maybe it became bad or dangerous and gave me an impression of tenderness and fear at the same time, but I still agreed to watch it and we gave play to the movie. By the way, my daughter loves Pikachu. She says he is very cute and imitates him when he talks.

   

   Tim, es un joven que prácticamente se ha criado toda la vida sin su padre. Esto es algo típico en este tipo de películas y ya más o menos puedes ir adivinando o simplemente saber por lógica como será la trama. Resulta que su padre es muy entregado al trabajo, es un gran detective y se aunque quiere estar con su hijo, viven alejados por asuntos laborales y Tim vive creyendo que nunca le ha importado a su padre.

   El joven hace su vida, al modo normal, en esta película los Pokémon no son un misterio, incluso Tim comienza en la búsqueda de querer atrapar y ser aceptado por uno, en esta parte podemos ver una escena graciosa y también las pocas ganas de Tim de querer entrenar a un Pokémon, pero todo cambia cuando recibe una fatal noticia que lo lleva a viajar a lo que yo llamaría, la Ciudad Pokémon, llamada Ryme City, un lugar donde los humanos conviven con los Pokémon y donde se desarrolla la película.

   Tim is a young man who has practically grown up all his life without his father. This is something typical in this kind of movies and you can more or less guess or simply know by logic how the plot will be. It turns out that his father is very dedicated to his work, he is a great detective and although he wants to be with his son, they live far apart because of work issues and Tim lives believing that his father has never cared about him.

   The young man makes his life, the normal way, in this movie the Pokémon are not a mystery, even Tim begins in the search of wanting to catch and be accepted by one, in this part we can see a funny scene and also the little desire of Tim to want to train a Pokémon, but everything changes when he receives a fatal news that leads him to travel to what I would call, the Pokémon City, called Ryme City, a place where humans live with Pokémon and where the film takes place.

   

   Tim, llega a Ryme City, luego que le notificaron de un accidente donde su padre ha muerto, el comienza a tener una lucha interna con él mismo, pues no conoce del todo a su papá y cree que este nunca lo quiso, pero empieza a descubrir que está equivocado. Además conoce al Pokémon de su papá "Pikachu" y pasan muchas cosas súper locas, como el hecho de que él pueda entender a Pikachu y este Pokémon tuviera actitudes muy humanas.

   El joven decide buscar la verdad sobre lo que le pasó a su padre, esto es muy típico de estás películas como dije al principio, ya por aquí comienzas a sospechar muchas cosas. Quien ayuda al joven para mí es sospechoso siempre, pero es algo que no sabrás hasta el final y claro que debe estar la chica 😂, aquella de la que el joven protagonista se enamora, aunque no hay besos ni escenas románticas, solo mucha aventura y peligros.

   The young man decides to look for the truth about what happened to his father, this is very typical of these movies as I said at the beginning, and from here you start to suspect a lot of things. Who helps the young man for me is always suspicious, but it's something you won't know until the end and of course there must be the girl 😂, the one the young protagonist falls in love with, although there are no kisses or romantic scenes, just a lot of adventure and dangers.

   

   Para no seguir contándoles la película 😂🙊 hay partes que de verdad son muy obvias y otras que parecen tomadas de otras películas, pero también hay escenas que te enseñan que la verdad que escuchas o crees, no siempre será la verdad si no escuchas la historia completa. Que podemos hacernos ideas de algo, pero eso no significa que sea la verdad y que siempre podemos volver a empezar.

   Está película está hecha para niños y adolescentes, así que está bien 😃 y la trama es ideal para que puedan entenderla. Pero no perdono el hecho de que Ryan Reynolds hubiera aparecido tan pocas veces en la película 😂 y yo quería verlo, pero ni modo. Por otra parte faltó ver a los demás Pokémon con más participación, y no sé unas peleas más entre algunos de ellos, para que así mostrarán sus habilidades, pero entiendo que esto se trata de Pikachu.

   ¿Dónde está el papá de Tim? Debes ver la película para descubrir el final inesperado.

   This film is made for children and teenagers, so it's fine 😃 and the plot is ideal for them to understand. But I don't forgive the fact that Ryan Reynolds appeared so few times in the movie 😂 and I wanted to see him, but no way. On the other hand I missed to see the other Pokémon with more participation, and I don't know some more fights between some of them, so they could show their skills, but I understand this is about Pikachu.

   Saludos amantes del cine, cuando me enteré del CineTV Contest Película favorita basada en video juegos estuve pensando muchos días en una que en mi niñez solía ser ver muchas veces, se trata de Mortal Combat, por supuesto que eran otras épocas donde así como los video juegos tenían una resolución de apenas unos cuantos píxeles las películas también contaban con efectos especiales un poco limitados si los comparamos con al actualidad, pero en esa época era donde eso solía jugar un poco de videojuegos con mi primo, en la actualidad debo decir que el tema no es lo mío, porque soy realmente muy mala jugadora y siempre ocupo mi tiempo en otro tipo de actividades, pero hay video juegos que han inspirado muchas series y películas, estos transcienden mucho más allá del simple juego por que los personajes o el tema de esos video juegos es conocido por todo el mundo, un ejemplo claro es Pokémon, que se convirtió en toda una franquicia tanto de video juegos, como de serie de televisión y productos como cartas coleccionables y juguetes, es por eso que decidí escoger para este concurso a la Película Detective Pikachu.

   La película de Pokemon: Detective Pikachu, es basada en los personajes principales de los videojuegos es decir las criaturas llamadas Pokemon, pero es una historia diferente, me gusto que sea un Live action porque lograron hacer que los pokemon lucieron como si de verdad fuesen criaturas reales que conviven con los humanos, la trama gira en torno a un chico que va a una ciudad donde los Pokémon viven libremente con los humanos y las batallas Pokémon están prohibidas, el motivo de la visita del chico es que le avisan que su padre ha fallecido, este era un Detective de la policía que murió en un accidente en coche un poco sospechoso, luego de que el chico encuentra al Pikachu que era compañero de su padre, descubre la posibilidad de que su padre esté con vida, así que irá tras los rastros de la última investigación de su padre, esto lo llevó a descubrir que una sustancia altera a los Pokémon y esta siendo usada en peleas clandestinas, así que toda la película gira en torno a esa historia pero muestra en el transcurso muchas referencias que apuntan tanto al video juego como a la serie animada.

   When it comes to adapting other media to the cinema I think that Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is one of the strangest examples, this is a consequence of its approach so particular to a franchise that it seems to be unadaptable in other terms.

   

   There is an eternal debate on what is the best way to approach these adaptations, are we faithful to the original source or do we find our own identity that opens up the differences between the formats where the stories are presented? In the anime specifically there are infamous examples of both methods: Death Note, Dragon Ball Evolution, Ghost in The Shell and others that I have forgotten.

   For those more cynical it was quite rare that at this point in life (2019) there was no live action adaptation of Pokémon, considering that it is one of the largest franchises in the world, it was undoubtedly a box office success.

   

   But hey, the moment came and we had Detective Pikachu.

   My feelings for the film have always been quite confusing, although I consider myself a fan of video games and followed a considerable part of the anime, the idea of ​​Detective Pikachu never completely fell in love with me but I also knew how to respect those risks that were taken and ended up playing in favour.

   

   After a few bored moments I decided to visit her again and several of these feelings were cleared up.

   On the admirable side, we have that Pokémon knows how to adapt to this new medium, not only in aesthetic terms where most of the creatures look pretty good (Not realistic, I clarify), but with respect to the world building of the franchise that adapts to live action, changing some rules but respecting the internal canon that we all know.

   

   Detective Pikachu takes creative liberties and most of them work, never uncomfortable to fans of yesteryear with ideas sacrilegious to the main video game series.

   Directed by Rob Letterman and starring Ryan Reynolds in the role of Pikachu (in what has been one of the most obvious twists ever written in modern mainstream cinema), as well as Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton and Ken Watanabe in the roles. live action, Detective Pikachu has a great visual display that knows how to brilliantly represent the coexistence between humans and Pokémon, a dream for fans of the franchise.

   The pacing of the film is quite decent and the same can be said for the script and the general plot, which hides references for those passionate fans without aligning those who come to see it without prior knowledge.

   

   The big drawback of the film is that they feel too fungible, as if it does not seek any kind of long-term impact beyond its viewing, not because the conflict is on a small scale but because it costs it to generate emotions in a large portion of its footage.

   It does not contribute to this that we spend so many minutes focused on building this new universe instead of giving depth to the live action characters, which are quite boring compared to the pocket monsters.

   The film also seems to have some issues with its tone, which travels from dramatic to comedic without much fluency ...

   None of these problems aren't big enough to ruin the movie, rather they are insignificant when compared to everything that Detective Pikachu did right.

   

   A fairly entertaining film that only fails when it seeks to be more than that, but let's not deny that it is a good first step to the film adaptation of one of the biggest franchises in popular culture.

   Para aquellos más cínicos era bastante raro que a estas alturas de la vida (2019) no existiera una adaptación live action se Pokémon, considerando que es una de las franquicias mas grandes de todo el mundo era indudable que sería un éxito en taquilla.

   

   Pero bueno, el momento llegó y tuvimos Detective Pikachu.

   Mis sentimientos por el filme siempre han sido bastante confusos, aunque me considero un admirador de los videojuegos y seguí una parte considerable del anime, la idea de Detective Pikachu nunca me enamoraba del todo pero también supe respetar aquellos riesgos que se tomaron y terminaron jugando a su favor.

   

   Luego de unos momentos de aburrimiento decidí volverla a visitar y varios de estos sentimientos se aclaron.

   En el lado admirable tenemos que Pokémon sabe adaptarse a este nuevo medio, no solo en términos estéticos donde la mayoría de las criaturas se ven bastante bien (No realistas, aclaro), sino respeto al world building propio de la franquicia que se adapta al live action, cambiando algunas reglas pero respetando el canon interno que todos conocemos.

   

   Detective Pikachu se toma libertades creativas y la mayoría de estas funcionan, nunca incómoda a los fans de antaño con ideas sacrílegas a la saga de videojuegos principal.

   Dirigida por Rob Letterman y protagonizada por Ryan Reynolds en el papel de Pikachu (En lo que viene siendo uno de twists más obvios que se han escrito en el cine mainstream moderno), asi como por Justice Smith, Kathryn Newton y Ken Watanabe en los papeles live action, Detective Pikachu cuenta con un gran despliegue visual que sabe representar de manera brillante la convivencia entre humanos y Pokémon, un sueño para los fans de la franquicia.

   El ritmo de la película es bastante decente y lo mismo puede decirse del guion y la trama general, la cual esconde referencias para aquellos fans apasionados sin alinear a los que llegan a verla sin conocimiento previo.

   

   La gran pega de la película es que se sienten demasiado fungible, como si no buscara ningún tipo de impacto a largo plazo más allá de su visionado, no porque el conflicto sea de pequeña escala sino porque le cuesta generar emociones en una gran porción de su metraje.

   No contribuye a esto que pasemos tantos minutos enfocados en construir este nuevo universo en vez de dar profundidad a los personajes live action, que son bastante aburridos en comparación a los pocket monster.

   La película también parece tener algunos problemas con su tono, el cual viaja de lo dramático a lo cómico sin mucha fluidez…

   Ninguno de estos problemas es lo suficientemente grande como para arruinar la película, más bien son insignificantes si los comparamos con todo lo que Detective Pikachu hizo bien.

   

   Una película bastante entretenida que solo fracasa cuando busca ser más que eso, pero no neguemos que es un buen primer paso a la adaptación al cine de una de las franquicias más grandes de la cultura popular.

   It has been a while since I have written a review of a movie completely aimed at kids. That is exactly what Pokémon Detective Pikachu is. There is simply no way I would ever see this without my kids. As a result, I need to look at this movie through a unique lens. I can't concern myself with whether or not this movie was worth my time. It is more a matter of the experience being worth my time. For me, that involves a very simple formula: my children's enjoyment + the creators throwing adults a bone or two + not insulting my intelligence (too much) = how much it was worth my time.

   
   

   

   
   

   So did Pokémon Detective Pikachu have enough of those elements to make it worth my time?

   First of all, both my 11 year old daughter and 14 year old son really enjoyed the film. My son and daughter seemed to like it for different reasons. My daughter loved the jokes and cuteness factor of many of the Pokémon. My son was drawn in by the surprisingly good action and all of the inside jokes about the different Pokémon. On the way to the theater, he was recounting all of the facts he knew about some of the most bizarre Pokémon in the universe. He was especially thrilled to tell me about one that wears the skull of his dead mother as a helmet. When that one showed up in the movie, he immediately grabbed my arm and said "See. I told you". He also enjoyed hearing Deadpool's voice emerge from a fluffy little mouse/bear thingy.

   Because the movie is about a detective, there had to be a mystery to solve. Due to the fat that the movie is rated "PG" and the target audience was most likely children younger than my own, they had to keep the mystery very simple. Although there were no huge surprises for someone who has a nearly fully developed brain, it was still fun seeing how the writers were going to get to their destination. I was actually impressed that my son and I were each surprised by two different events in the movie.

   So we can give the movie a high score for the kids' entertainment factor.

   
   

   

   
   

   Now onto throwing adults a bone. This is the gigantic fork in the road. If hearing Deadpool's voice coming out of some cute, fuzzy, tiny creature, makes you giggle... then you will enjoy your 90 minute stay. If you think his voice is like nails on a chalkboard... you are in for an excruciating 90 minutes. Ryan Reynolds' voice is the big gimmick. Although the special effects are quite impressive and the Pokémon seem to blend in seamlessly into each scene, that will probably not be enough to keep Reynolds' hating adults awake. There were enough jokes and amusing situations to make me chuckle or smirk for the majority of the time.

   
   

   

   
   

   How about insulting my intelligence? Because the movie is rated "PG", I had to give this one quite a bit of leeway. Actually, while I am on the subject of the rating, it is important to note that there were some very minor curse words in this movie. Deadpool Pikachu did say "Hell" and "Damn" a couple of times. Because my kids are old enough to have heard far worse on the playground, I did not really care. However, parents of young kids might be a bit taken aback by this language. Now back to respecting my intelligence. The mystery is very simple. They also made sure to explain it very thoroughly so that kids would not have to ask their parents what was going on every two seconds. It was simple but fun. I'll count that as a win. The real problem was the acting. Justice Smith is NOT AN ACTOR. He has no business being in a movie. His acting made the Motley Crue cast look like potential Oscar winners... and they were laughably bad. I am convinced that in order to not draw attention to the fact that Smith was so terrible, the director made poor Kathryn Newton "take a little off of her fastball" to not make Smith's horrendous "performance" stand out even more than it did. luckily for this movie, Smith is not essential. He is simply a vehicle to allow the Pokémon to do their thing. The ride was worth my time.

Otherwise just rent it later.**

   I was planning to go see The Intruder yesterday when I realized how poor the ratings were for this film. It is suffering from a paltry 5.4 score at IMDb currently. Pokemon Detective Pikachu had a rating just north of 7, so I decided I would "call an audible" and go see Pokemon instead. The theater was packed. Mostly parents with children. This is definitely a film aimed at that audience, perhaps alongside adults who grew up with Pokemon. I was an adult long before Pokemon hit the scene, so I probably didn't "get" a lot of the references. But the film wasn't that bad.

   

   Tim Goodman (Justice Smith) is a loner. He grew up on Pokemon, but has lost interest. The loss of his mother along with the gap created when his father went to work as a detective at the Ryme City Police Department have left him untethered. When his father is killed in a car crash, Tim is summoned to Ryme City, where he reluctantly begins investigating his father's death. He is aided by his father's former partner, Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds). With the aid of an intern (Kathryn Newton) from the news media, Tim unravels a plot to merge humans and their pokemon counterparts. Tim finds redemption in his effort to save Ryme City, coming to terms with his own unhappy childhood.

   

   The writing credits include a list of a dozen or so writers, to include the creators of Pokemon. It is a hodge-podge list of writers with little experience. All things considered, they did okay. They salted an otherwise hackneyed coming-of-age story with a bit of humor and made the film engaging for the target audience. If you are expecting originality, you are not going to find it here. It is somewhat milquetoast on an emotional level. The characters are okay, but feel forced at times. Some of the dialogue was good. Overall, the writing was mediocre.

   

   Ryan Reynolds seems to be enjoying his romp into odd characters. He is brilliant as Deadpool. I also like him as Pikachu. Reynolds has mastered tongue-in-cheek delivery. He is definitely a strong anchor for this film. I haven't seen much of Justin Smith's previous work. I don't think I would have cast him in a lead role, but he holds it together. He doesn't have a strong presence, but was tolerable. I liked his reported sidekick Newton much better. She seems a bit vanilla, but she was fairly strong in this film. Even in a limited role. The casting had plenty of room for improvement. Bill Nighy was well cast and offered a veteran presence.

   

   Pokemon Detective Pikachu is rated PG. The target audience is adolescents, so this film needed to be PG. The film doesn't have much objectionable. There is the mandatory crude humor for this target audience. The type of crude that is funnier than crude. The type that will probably drive parents nuts later on, but at least it is tame stuff. There is a bit of action and some danger, but nothing over-the-top. The film navigates the MPAA with ease. This film is fine for all ages. Run time is one hour, 44 minutes.

   

   I wasn't expecting to see Pokemon Detective Picachu. It was a last minute decision when I realized how poorly rated The Intruder is. I am not disappointed in this film, because I had low expectations going in. The theater was packed with young people. It was hard to find a seat at the matinee. This film appears to be doing decent at the box office. I thought the pacing was good and the characters unique, although the acting was average and the story unoriginal. Overall, I can't say it was a waste of time. I was mildly entertained. 6/10.

    I am cautiously intrigued. I wish I knew more about the character, cartoon, or game but this is kind of cute. That is the voice of Ryan Reynolds.

    The idea of making a Pikachu detective is very interesting and funny, this prequel to the game introduces Pikachu with all his Pokemon glory.

    

    Detective Pikachu (The Game)

    A cinematic adventure Pokemon game that stars Pikachu, different than his anime and game counterparts in that he's smart and can understand human language. It is also a great detective!! Maybe, I think...

    The game follows Tim Goodman a young boy whose detective father gone missing. Tim partners with a talking Pikachu to solve the mysterious case. I wasn't sure about getting the game so I figured I'll download the free prequel eBook I found by chance. I'm glad I did because it's funny and awesome!!

    Episode Zero: Eevee's Case

    The book introduces the titular Pikachu who understands both Pokemon and humans, he was the Pokemon partner of the great detective Goodman, but the man has went missing and Pikachu was left in the care of his partner's friend.

    Unable to speak human language and his partner's friend don't understand his specialness, Pikachu opened his own detective agency, the book follows his first case. and I assume the game follows what happens just after that.

    Through the story many Pokemon appear, and in my opinion the writer(s) took care in their characterization, they're simple animals you'd find in the usual children story and you can imagine the Pokemon in the main game series doing/saying the same if put in their situation.

    Good Mystery For Children

    I would recommend this book to Pokemon fans, especially children... There are many better funny/mystery stories out there. But only this have Pikachu as a main character. Pokemon Company played their cards right with this book.

    Especially that it's free!!

    It's also short (around 25 kindle pages,) I read it on the way of a family visit.
