Hello everyone! Anime fans, I hope you're having a great time today, today I want to give you my opinions on a well-known anime, or maybe not... anyway, it's an anime that I had on my list for a long time, and I finally finished it... I'll tell you what I think of "Kengan Ashura”. You know how one is always looking for that new gem that blows your mind, well, this anime did it for me, and if you like fighting anime, but real fights, the good kind, uff... I think you're going to love it, now, the first thing that hits you right in the face - and mind you, I mean it in a good way, eh - is the animation.

It's CGI, yes... I know what you're thinking: CGI in anime can sometimes be kind of... weird and ugly, right? We've all seen those anime where the characters look plastic and the backgrounds look like PS2, but "Kengan Ashura" is different.. this anime went to another level, when I saw the trailers, I I was also like “CGI? Mmm… I don’t know…” But I heard around that the fights were insane.. let me tell you something: the rumors were REAL! Once you get a little bit used to the style – because yes, at first it is very different.. you realize that the CGI is really good for what they want to achieve with this anime. It’s just so fluid. And the punches? Wow! You can feel them in your body, really, when Ohma throws a punch at you, you really feel it.. it’s like they captured the weight and raw strength of these guys in a way that I’ve never seen in traditional animation.

Mmm… no sé…”.

Traditional animation gives you a level of detail and artistry that is insane, that's true, I love it, ñero this CGI has a... depth, a 3D vibe, especially in the fights, that makes everything feel much more intense, more impactful... when they're giving it their all, dodging, moving all over the place, it's super dynamic! You see their muscles tense, the sweat flying, the look of pure effort they put on... it looks like a real martial arts fight, but taken to the extreme! And speaking of fights.. wow, this anime is like one bomb of epic battles after another.. when I say EPIC, I mean EPIC in capital letters, each fight is like an event.. it's not just that they're punching and kicking each other like crazy; they use strategy, technique, and a willpower that drives you crazy! And every fighter has his own style, every fighter is unique.. it’s not the typical “generic martial arts guy A vs. generic martial arts guy B”, here you have guys using grabs, strikes, weapons, weird techniques like magic, I liked the variety.. what’s even cooler is that half the time you don’t know who’s going to win.

There were fights that left me on the edge of my seat, thinking “There’s no way I’m going to win!” and boom! something happens that you didn’t expect, a crazy comeback, a last-second play, it’s super unpredictable, and that’s what makes it so fucking exciting! You’re not just watching fights; you´re in there, you´re emotionally hooked... that´s where the characters come in, because they´re not just airheads kicking each other, although they are well muscled and tough... each fighter has his own story, his own reasons for being in this insane tournament... forget about administrative meetings, in the world of “Kengan Ashura”, big companies solve their problems with blows, with gladiator fights... yes, yes, as you heard... instead of lawyers and numbers, they send their best fighters to fight in a ring, and whoever wins... well, whoever wins basically rules the business world... total madness, but in the best way possible, obviously.

As I was saying, the characters are a gem! Ohma, the protagonist, who is this mysterious, almost wild fighter, with a strength that is not normal and a past that I can't even tell you about... he is a great guy, quiet, who transmits a shocking wave of pure power... but then you have Yamashita, who is like his... how to say it? Like his manager, but he is also the touch of humor, the normal guy who suddenly finds himself in this crazy world of fights between companies... the poor guy is scared out of his mind half the time, but he also has a loyalty that surprises... he is the character that we all identify with, totally going crazy with how absurd everything is!

But it's not just Ohma and Yamashita, every fighter in this tournament is interesting in their own way, they all have their own moves, their own unique fighting styles, their own distinct personalities... there's Cosmo, the prodigy who never stops improving his fighting style... there's Raian, who's a total beast, a fighter who just wants to destroy everything in his path, there's Hatsumi Sen, this fighter who seems like he doesn't care about anything, almost lazy, but who's actually incredibly powerful... and so much more! You really get hooked on these characters, even the bad ones, you want to see them fight, you want to know more about their stories, you want to see how they're doing in the tournament... and the music! The soundtrack is BRUTAL! Especially the opening! It sets you on fire at the touch and gets you ready for action. And the music that plays during the fights? Perfect! It raises your blood pressure, makes you feel the blows stronger, improves the whole experience... it's one of those soundtracks that you listen to outside of the anime, they go straight to your playlist hahaha.

But is it a perfect anime? No.. maybe some people tell you that the story is kind of weak, that it’s just an excuse to see spectacular fights, and yes, they’re partly right.. the main vibe here are the fights, but I think that the characters and their personal stories give it enough energy to keep you hooked, also, some people who read the manga say that the anime skips some things, which is always a downer for those who are fans of the original manga.. I also understand that some people think that there’s too much dialogue in the middle of the fights sometimes.. they’re in the middle of the action, and suddenly they start talking about their fighting style or why they’re fighting, sometimes it cuts the harmony a bit.. but the truth is, for me those are minor things, “Kengan Ashura” blew my mind, it has interesting animation, fights that leave you breathless and characters that you can’t help but love (or hate!). It's the kind of anime that gets your blood pumping, that makes you want to get up and start throwing punches (don't worry, don't be serious, okay).. it's the perfect anime to watch before going to the gym, so what score do I give it?

A 9/10, at first the animation is a bit shocking, and the story isn't the most complicated in the world, but the pure entertainment, the adrenaline it gives you and the fights that stay in your head make it an anime that you have to see yes or yes if you like action anime... if you haven't seen it yet, watch it... Just prepare to get hooked from the first chapter and spend the following days wanting to learn all the martial arts you find... and well, that's all for today... I hope you liked this review, I'll leave the opening down here, see you soon, take care! Byebye!

Byebye!

  2. Kengan Ashura 「ケンガンアシュラ」 (2019, 24 episodes)@onlyjob507d

Martial arts championship - explicit, gory, brutal, grotesque. Intriguing beginning with philosophical question: what is the best way to resolve a dispute (e.g. between merchants)? The answer might be surprising: violence (like a duel), because this method resolves conflict definitively, and everybody accept the outcome. The legend is that a child emperor of Japan in 17th century ordered merchants who were assassinating each other to resolve their disputes in fights between hired champions. Allegedly, tradition survived to these days, so corporations of Japan resolve their disputes by hiring strongest fighters they can find to represent them in underground fights. Hence fights are not just for thrill or for show or for gamble but mostly to grow influence (e.g. to win development contract).

Unfortunately intrigue quickly dries up, devolving into brutal fights between extraordinary fighters with superhuman abilities. Cliches are many, like fighters being beaten beyond hope of winning, unrealistically (because in reality even strongest fighters would be dead), but deep within themselves they suddenly find motivation to win so they access previously inaccessible resource and defeat stronger opponent in the last moment against all odds. That pattern is repeated too many times.

In some sense show is entertaining enough, yet boring at the same time.

Being "a Netflix original anime series", of course they had to embed deadly virus to the story: one fighter is killed by infecting him with a deadly virus (while another fighter had "antibodies"). Netflix is a reliable supplier of propaganda and violent entertainment...

This tournament is essentially a stratagem battle between companies.

Every ambition comes along with sacrifices.

Some time ago I saw an anime that I really liked, I was impressed, since at the beginning I didn't have many expectations about this production. It was called Baki and it was about a boy who wanted to defeat his father (the ogre) to become the strongest man in the world. This anime is about action, adventure and martial arts, where we see a lot of fights, since the characters love combat and each one wants to prove who is the best. If you want to know more about this anime I invite you to check my blog.

Kengan Ashura, which I also told you about, where characters from both anime fought in a tournament, being quite interesting. Then I was interested in seeing what Kengan Ashura was about and what were his differences with Baki, since both anime seemed to me very similar. The reality is that the story is very similar, only that the anime we are going to analyze today, has more black humor, they try to make the story funny at a certain point based on the tragedies that we find in the story. The story of this anime was created by Yabako Sandrovich, where the publication of the manga began in 2012 and concluded in 2018, where in the following year the anime broadcast began.

What is this story about? Well, it tells us about Tokita “Ashura” Ohma, someone who gets into the world of underground fights, becoming a real gladiator of fights. These tournaments are formed with millionaire corporations, where the winner takes all the prize, but the reality is that Ashura does not care, his greatest desire is to win. This character is similar to Baki, both always want to fight against the best and beat them without leaving any doubts. I must say that this kind of anime is not one of my favorites, but on the recommendation of a friend I watched it and I liked it. It is not one of the best, but it is entertaining and it is good to have a good time in some free hours that we have in our day to day.

One of the things I liked about this anime is the development of the characters and also that in the story we find out why each character reached this point in history, because of their way of being and acting. So far two seasons have been released, where the first is divided into two parts of 12 chapters each. The first season came out in 2019, while last year the second season came out with a total of 28 chapters, with a duration of 25 minutes each. The story is not the best I've seen in an anime, it's all about fights, but as I said what I like the most is to know the history of the characters who fight in the arena.

What I would most like to highlight about Kengan Ashura is the fluidity of the fights, where each chapter is a fight and this is defined quickly unlike other productions where the confrontations tend to be endless. At least this is another point in favor of this animated series. We can also find that each character has their own fighting style, something that is appreciated and as I said earlier in the review, it explains everything about these characters and how they came to be these fighters. Obviously, being an anime we know that everything is fiction and exaggerated, most of the fighting styles are far from reality, but it's okay, at least I'm used to it and I don't dislike it. And finally at this point I can tell you that the anime and the outcome of the fights can surprise you, nothing more to say.

The animation of the anime seems pretty good to me, they did a good job in this aspect, especially in the fights and the special effects we see. The characters were well represented, even visually I like this anime a little more than Baki, although in terms of story I think the other one is a little better. The soundtrack was also to my liking, I loved the compositions and especially the background music of the fights in moments of tension and uncertainty. As for the dubbing in Spanish (which was the language I saw it) I thought it was quite correct, but many times I prefer to watch anime in the original language with subtitles in my native language (Spanish). It all depends on the taste of each person, I watched it on Netflix where all the chapters are available.

Kengan Ashura is an anime very similar to Baki and this was the reason why they released this year's movie where they made a tournament where the characters of both series fought to see who were the best. What I liked most about this one was how unpredictable the fights could be, anyone could win or lose, everything was very even, the fighting styles were different and the animation was great. Even better was the soundtrack. Do I recommend it? Well, I do recommend this animated series, it is not perfect, but if you are a lover of martial arts anime, this may be ideal for you.

  4. (ENG/SPA) Kengan AShura The bloody fists of the Gods Episode 5 Review@promete0sz656d

    image.png

It is in man's nature to fight, battle to the death, break bones, use his fists to pull teeth, war, revenge, etc. Fortunately the barbaric times have passed and these battles are now entertainment that can be seen in different healthy media such as boxing, karate and anime. I know this is so because the anime of this type are extremely striking, there are many examples that prove it from classics like DBZ, Baki and so many more that handle this tone of bloody battles.

In the case of this review I want to invite you to watch Kengan AShura, it is an anime available in its entirety on the Netflix platform, I wanted to see bloody battles that remind me of the anime Baki and I just got it, I'm on the 5th episode and yes it contains all the necessary ingredients, it is exciting the plot that handles and fights in a tournament style.

    image.png

    yamashita.jpg

The great weakness of this type of stories is to make the viewer believe that they see Gods fighting, in the end they are human characters that look like Gods to withstand so much damage and move forward, this means minutes of viewing and as everything is not hits, end up being vital to overcome this weakness the narrator characters that lengthen the story with dialogues so that the anime can engage with the commercial minutes of the product for an audience.

Kazuo Yamashita complies with being a Narrator that entertains the viewer, at least that's what he has achieved for me in these first five episodes of the anime that I have seen, he is a character that tends to be funny but does not stay there, actually what I see is that everything revolves around him and guides the story very well, if it provokes listening to him while he is analyzing the fights and tells us what happens in order to understand.

    image.png

    yma.jpg

In my case the secondary characters that adorn an anime are vital, as such I have not talked about the protagonist because it is the decorations that convince me to continue watching a story and this anime has a beautiful woman in all its design that fits perfectly with my tastes both physically and personality.

Akiyama Kaede fulfills with embellishing the story of beauty, being an anime of bare-knuckle battles and blood, there are too many guys that appear, then she helps to balance with all its design, I can not deny that it has the structure of my fantasies, wearing glasses, ponytail and secretary skirt.

    image.png

    yamashita old.jpg

Roshi type characters are vital, I call them this way because one of the first anime I saw was DBZ and there appears the master Roshi who earned his place as a beloved character worldwide, I mention this because it is actually a formula, when analyzing different anime of this type that consists of bare-knuckle battles, the elders stand out a lot for the wisdom in their techniques to overcome age, if the author uses them well, they end up winning the viewer.

I mention this because every anime of this type has them and they are always the most striking, it happens in Hunter X Hunter, in Baki, etc, etc and they always end up being represented in advanced moments of the plot and they are difficult rivals to defeat or that help to build a plot twist.

In Kengan AShura I have only seen the design of an old master of battles, it is the one you see in the image and it convinced me, I want to see this old man battle because I know nothing more about him, I only saw his aesthetics and it makes an impact.

I hope you liked this review of the 5th episode of Kengan AShura and that by reading these elements that most caught my attention, you also encourage you to see all this adventure of Bloody Battles on Netflix.

I dedicate each and every one of my posts and videos to my little dog named princess, we called her chiquito, she is no longer with us but from heaven she will see that her existence was valuable and the most beautiful thing that will exist in my heart and soul.

The graphics are becoming more and more refined, and I've gotten used to the combat system. I still think there are too many players, but maybe in this case I will be positively surprised. https://www.comingsoon.net/games/news/1691360-dragon-ball-sparking-zero-trailer-trunks-gohan-videl

  7. Kengan Ashura Illustrator Picks Fan Translators Over AI Translations@adamada792d

Kengan Ashura is a fighting manga with an anime adapatation written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon.

TL:DR of the issue was that the AI translations in English were son bad that he compared it to fan translations which ended up having the company hire the fan translators instead.

It started with Daromeon's X post:

    https://twitter.com/daromeon/status/1787560049583477164

    Google Translation:

The English translation of Kengan is a bit unique, so we decided to leave it to a group of amateurs who translated it without permission and uploaded it illegally. Their translation was far better than the official one. It would be pretty bad if they used the official version. No one would read it. I think there have been many works that didn't go over well overseas because of translation issues. I wonder how that would be with AI.

To further clarify the misunderstanding, here's a X post from a former member of the fan translation group in question which made an brief and concise thread summing up the issue.

    https://twitter.com/FogMediocrity/status/1787893801681314128

Why AI translations needed funding instead of hiring overseas translators in the first place? There has been a rise of dissatisfaction with woke localizers in delivering the official English translations. It's a rabbit hole on its own but the gist is that some of the dialogues and context from manga and anime adaptations get lost in translation due to localization which is understandable to some degree as you need to suit the language to local audience. But woke localizations, tend to insert unnecessary agendas in the dialogue which changes the context of the scene and this upsets the fans.

By spending more money in the development of AI translations, companies can reduce the costs of hiring multiple local translators and remove the threat of inserting political bias into the intellectual property but current technology still hasn't reach a satisfying point where the quality of the translations are good enough. It so happens that Daromeon is fluent in English which helped spot these errors before releasing an official translation to Western anime fans.

Even without the threat of woke localizes ruining the intellectual property, it's not unlikely that companies would explore the use of AI translations to reduce costs and raise efficiency. There are a lot of great manga published monthly in Japan and their rise to fame is limited the availability of translators.

While fan translations can be frowned upon due to piracy reasons, depending on where you stand on the issue, I think fan translations made it possible to expand the reach of these stories to a global audience before the official translations are out.

    Thanks for your time.

  8. (ESP-ENG) Kengan Ashura - First Impressions!@javyeslava.photo907d

    **

Hello friends, good vibes to all.

    **

Hola amigos, buenas vibras para todos.

    Source!

Lately I've been looking to catch up on several stories that I've had marked as pending for a while and among them is this anime, one that in principle is very similar to a few out there but for that reason it is still, in my opinion, a pretty good and entertaining one. Why is it similar to many? - Well, because the theme is the typical martial arts tournament, street fights and even clandestine fights that for the most primitive reason of all we still like a lot. Watching these fighters practically kill each other just for the sake of proving who is the fittest and strongest is as basic as it is brutal. Unlike Record of Ragnarok, that anime that pits gods against humans, here there is no mortal threat, there are more everyday things that we'll talk about later.

Kengan Ashura is an unconventional tournament since, as I said before, it is one that has been taking place under the table of society for centuries. It all started back in the Edo period when the merchants of the time decided to solve problems and conflicts through fists and violence. The thing is that it was getting out of control so the Shogunate of the time implemented it officially. These practices lasted in time until our days when it is still possible to see these fights just to have control of certain things including power and money itself.

    Source!

Landing in our days we have Ohma Tokita, an extraordinary and unknown fighter who wandered the streets until a confrontation crossed his path. As expected Ohma smashed the man to smithereens without allowing him a chance. This is the preamble we are given before we get into the plot. It turns out that within society there are companies that, in theory, control the economic strings of all but these in turn live in a constant competition for power so the only way to iron out those differences and see who climbs faster and who does not is through these fights.

What happens is that each company chooses a fighter and enters the tournament. What does the company that ends up winning win? - Power, nothing more. From this point on, the plot develops a bit with small stories involving several characters. One of them is Kenzou Yamashita who is Ohma's proxy, the truth is that he is a very striking, simple and scary guy. It is an anime that I personally liked a lot because despite having a plot or plot as such a little simple fights if they are of high quality and partly thanks to the animation that is presented to us.

    Source!

Let's start with the animation which for me is the highlight of this anime. Part of the success in this world has to do a lot with how the final product looks on the screen. At the time of the fights is when the great animation is most appreciated, fluid and realistic movements, body expressions are really good, facial expressions are even better, the use of blood that in many cases they exaggerate it to make it more striking here they do not do it, here they focus more on the whole functioning of the anatomy at the time of a fight, when a bone breaks, a tear, how the body reacts to some fighting technique; it is not bloody but it is compensated with many other more interesting things and that in the end end up being very showy anyway.

The plot is simple. They are businessmen who, thanks to money, do whatever they want, that's really how the world works and in this anime they capture them in the best way. Secret parties, secret societies, secret fights, all for the sake of pleasing the whims of the powerful in suits. There is no depth at all, everything outside of the fights is mere filler to give the fights a little more meaning. Now, when the fights start everything changes. And it changes to the point that before each fight a little bit of context is given about who is who, their abilities and where they come from; I find that very cool. It makes you create some empathy with some of the fighters.

Another interesting thing is a voice-over that narrates certain things in the story. We listen to it during the fights, to understand more about some scenes; it is a good companion when they are well done and make sense. Obviously the comedy is also present, there are many situations where it is possible to get a laugh out of you basically because of the way some of the characters act, even the expressions I mentioned before are quite hilarious and exaggerated, as you know it is very common in this. As for everything that has to do with sexual elements, yes there are but not so explicit, they are shown more in behaviors and ways of being of some characters that are not very suggestive when it comes to expressing their desires.

And the characters, well to say that the main character Ohma just wants to fight and prove he is the best but behind that ambition there is a gasoline, there is something that motivates him and that clearly I won't say here. The truth is that many of the fighters are very particular, each one has something that makes him special, I also liked that, they took care not to be boring at all. Anyway, a very good anime which has a second season and that today I start watching. I give it an 8/10, I was very surprised. It hooks you quite a bit. There are twelve chapters and it's on Netflix. I leave you the trailer.

  9. Kengan Ashura - the best anime fight of the year 2023! / Kengan Ashura - najlepsza walka roku w anime 2023!@herosik952d

    KA oku.jpg

About 2 weeks after watching the 1st season of "Kengan Ashura" for the third time, I had a huge pressure to learn more about the next fights. Especially when I learned from a friend that Fang Metsudo's next opponent would be Gaolang Wongaswat. The latter didn't make much of an impression after his first fight, but he had the aura of a mighty warrior. As I saw in Manga Music Video (MMV) on YT, I wasn't wrong at all. Then I read a certain comment, which I agree with 100% today, agreeing with everything I can - This duel is the peak of what the duo of authors created and showed in KA, you won't see anything better there. And ok, you can say "hey, the guy is talking nonsense, everyone has his own opinion, his own tastes" etc. I don't agree, I mean, sure, everyone has the right to their opinion, but judging only by what I've seen so far in the anime and these few fights in the manga, then... well, it's 100% true - there's nothing better in KA than this clashes. I know what I'm talking about because I have devoted a lot of time from my life to watching battle shounens - so I have knowledge, experience and a comparison base. Looking completely objectively, without emotions, only at the technical level (I didn't even pay attention to emotions when I watched this fight for the first time in the form of a music video), it was a perfectly planned and executed fight. Sure, it could probably be improved, but I judge by what we got, not by what we could have gotten, and that's very important! Why? Because when we judge something that is not there, we do not pay full attention to what is.

    KA1.jpg

There is something to improve in KA, its flaws stand out to me especially in the 2nd season (too much inconsistency, every time a character died or could have been mutilated for life, the creators changed their minds and withdrew the consequences), but this one thing is perfect . Just like the scene with Leo Bonhart's appearance in "The Witcher" - different sources say differently, but I saw in several sources that before Sapkowski wrote his saga, Bonhart vs Szczury was one of the first ideas that he put down on notes or one of the scenes, which he started writing before understanding his idea with Geralt. In short, sometimes an idea for a book comes from a specific scene, sometimes we come up with a scene that was originally intended for something else, but after minor changes, it can be transferred to another idea. Or maybe Sapkowski simply knew that he would place this scene one day and wrote it at a different time (books, like films, are not created chronologically, scene by scene, but point by point, and then these fragments are combined).

    KA0.jpg

Even the introduction to combat was wonderful. Fang was waiting for Gaolang, he knew well that he was one of the few opponents posing a real threat. The fight with Okubo showed that Fang didn't have to fight seriously... Or to put it another way, it was a case of Goku SsjBlue x25 (or x30) Kaioken vs Jiren before using GenkiDama - Jiren had to be 100% serious and attentive only when Goku pulled out all the aces out of hand, without it Jiren controlled the course of the duel. Same with Fang in the fight against Okubo. Gaolang, on the other hand, didn't give a damn about him, just like anyone else - he didn't care about pride, emotions, etc. all that matters to him is the destruction of everything that stands in his Lord's path. This was very visible during the fight, just as Fang had to retreat to the offensive more than once (I'm not talking about naturally retreating to create space for an attack, but running away, fear of the opponent), Wongaswat kept punching him like a sack. training - no matter whether he was trapped or had his hand broken by Fang's elbow. He walked forward and banged with his fists, elbows and legs, like a wild monkey.

    KA1b.jpg

    KA1.jpg

The fight itself was amazing!!! Lots of twists and turns, high level from the beginning, very good comments (both from their bosses and the fighters themselves), until the very end we didn't know who would emerge from this fight as the winner. I.e. of course, the plot of KA is quite simple, just like in the case of "Game of Thrones", at some stage it is known how the story will unfold and what its course will be more or less. So it is not difficult to guess that the protagonist will fight at the end, that Fang, after such a presentation of his person, will be the final opponent. I don't know about you, but I can't imagine what would happen if Gaolang won. Ok, maybe he would have lost to Devil's Spear, or whatever the name of the grandfather who defeated Kiryu Setsuna was, but he would probably have lost - the Thai warrior is a master of technique, and probably none of the Kengan warriors is better than him (except Devil's Spear). Fang defeated him only because of his supernatural power, I bet it's some kind of combination of the powers of Venom and Taskmaster from Marvel (I only know part of his flashbacks, I won't reveal it, it's just how I see it after combining these events and scenes from the manga), it was his "move of desperation", he put everything on one card, because both he and his rival were completely depleted of energy and all it took was a finish... Well, in the case of Gaolang, a single push was enough.

    KA2.jpg

His superiority over Fang was visible from the beginning, when he used only his hands... And I'll stop here for a moment - it was a really cool idea to divide this fight into 1 part in which he used boxing and 2 in which he stopped using boxing completely. inhibit. Or as Kanoh Agito said - "Use all your abilities, attack us with your full power." Even this element proves that the fight was thought out from A to Z and implemented in accordance with previous assumptions. We see the full potential of the best boxer of that world, and then his true power - in both cases, Fang was almost helpless, he could only rely on counters and his magical skills. The second reason is to show why daily, exhausting training, in which we often repeat the same movements and exercise specific muscle groups, is necessary during a fight. When we fight at this level, we don't have time for thinking or tactics, we just have to knock our opponent to the ground. Life is not an anime like HxH, where during an exchange of blows, the character can fuck for 2 minutes, often they don't even have time to say "oh fuck", body movements must be trained and automatic, because the human brain (and more specifically - the delivery, reception, analysis, sending another one, reaction - simplifying the whole process) is too slow for this. Gaolang sees the movement and his body automatically positions himself to dodge or block, followed by a painful counter.

    KA3.jpg

That's why (among other things, I don't want to pretend that I know fights well, because I don't) warriors repeat the same exercises every day, work on the same muscle groups, etc. I think there was a slogan in "Rocky" or "Creed" that a thousand hours of training is equal to one minute or one round. Or another, also true, saying - after an exhausting fight or training, your hands are so depleted of energy that sometimes you can't even wipe your ass after taking a shit. We've already seen this in previous episodes, but again - Gaolang showed it in its most beautiful form. Fang thought he fucked him hard enough to give him a moment to catch his breath... And the guy immediately gets up and runs at him!!! Whether with a broken arm or bruised from his blows, Gaolang gets up and presses forward, again and again. I really liked how they clearly showed that Fang was afraid a few times, or the scenes after the fight where he was embarrassed that he wasn't able to beat him with his natural skills. Little? Well, my cousin and I watched this fight and since he has been practicing boxing for several years, he could have made a few comments. Most of them focused on how well it was drawn - every move, the shift in focus when throwing punches. The place also matters, which is often shown in KA - knees, throat, solar plexus, liver, eyes, ears, chin, testicles and this fight is no exception. I won't say anything because I don't know anything and I don't want to lie, but every move is important when throwing a punch.

    KA5.jpg

    KA4.jpg

    KA6.jpg

As for the second episode, this one was even better. I finally fully understood the approach of my mother and friends her age to commenting on sad scenes from various movies or series. You know, exciting scenes for them, when a man tries to save a woman or a good man tries to save himself from a hopeless situation (or something else related to it, it doesn't even have to be a guy). I was under the illusion until the very end that it would end differently than in the comic book, but it didn't. As my cousin said, the result of this fight is the biggest anime scam in 2023. Well, I agree, but not entirely. Let me start by saying that this is an unrealistic series, and Fang's power has been consistently presented from the beginning (you can criticize it, but it makes as much sense as complaining about Goku's Kamehameha or other known techniques from any anime - as long as it is consistent, then you can put these comments in the place where the back loses its noble name). Moreover, the creators clearly showed us who controlled most of the fight, who was afraid of whom and who was lucky in the fight from the beginning (his last decision). I tried to imagine how it would have ended if the other players had moved on. This is the stage of the tournament when being eliminated is really painful, not only for the players, but also for the viewers who have already grown to like some of the fighters. Gaolang had to lose to Fang because in my opinion he would have beaten his next opponents - he was too technically good. I can't imagine the protagonist or other warriors winning against Gaolang. Possibly that Grandpa from the Spear... But that's the only character.

I will definitely watch this fight again. Will I watch it at least twice a year like Netero vs Meruem? Who knows, maybe, I'll definitely do another viewing in a month during the holidays.

    KA1b.jpg

    KA1.jpg

Sama walka natomiast, cudo!!! No dobra, w przypadku Gaolanga wystarczyło pojedyncze pchnięcie.

    KA2.jpg

    KA3.jpg

    KA5.jpg

    KA4.jpg

    KA6.jpg

Jeśli chodzi o drugi odcinek, ten był jeszcze lepszy. W końcu w pełni zrozumiałem podejście mojej mamy i koleżanek w jej wieku, do komentowania smutnych scen z różnych filmów lub seriali.

    Once Upon a Time...In a Dark Alley

It feels good to crack the knuckles and put fingers to keyboard again on PeakD, and while I did consider writing a proper introduction on my return to the platform after falling victim to a phishing attack, I decided against it simply on the basis that a) no one cares, and b) it’s better to just get down to the business of writing. So strap in lads and ladies, there’s an anime review coming your way.

Gone are the days when anime was only available to a select few friends whose older siblings dabbled in the arts bestowed upon us from the land of the rising sun. While those were magical times in and of themselves, it still feels good that anime is readily available on platforms such as Netflix, and it was indeed Netflix that presented itself as the home for the anime in question, Kengan Ashura.

To be sure, Kengan Ashura is an anime that we’ve seen 1000 times before, and we will most likely be treated to anime of the same ilk 1000 times again. It begins with a random back alley brawl between two fighters of massively unequal physical attributes. The two combatants squared off without realizing that their little altercation had attracted the attention of a random passerby.

Kazuo Yamashita witnesses what he believes to be a massive mismatch based on appearances, but is blown away by the smaller fighter’s ability to breeze through the physical specimen that stepped forward to oppose him. While the entire ordeal struck Kazuo san as just a random reminder of mankind's primitive propensities, he would have no idea that this random encounter would be the key to unlocking the dark world permeating through the very veins of the Japanese economy.

While nothing more than an elderly cog in the corporate machine, Kazuo Yamashita would go on to be introduced to the very fighter who had impressed him with unparalleled skill and ferocity. Enter out of the shadows Takita Ohma, a skilled fighter who would act as the champion for the Nogi group in a series of formal underground battles used to establish hierarchies, settle disputes, and produce growth in the Japanese economy.

Kazuo san would be tasked with managing Takita Ohma on his way to qualifying for a Kengan Life or Death Combat Tournament to decide on the individual who would take up the highest position of power in the country. The tournament would present a large gathering of competing organizations, each selecting a powerful combatant to represent them. While the backers would look to increase power and position, the fighters fought for the prestige of being called the most powerful warrior.

Each champion brings their respective style to the table in grueling battles in which each must adapt to the strengths of each opponent. Tokita originally goes through the competition to meet the man who killed his master but is more determined to master the skills that were passed on to him to finally rid himself of the ghost of his former mentor. Ohma also works very hard to keep in alignment with the goals that he has set for himself but also places himself in compromising positions by continuously relying on a forbidden ability that boosts his power at great costs to his physical and mental well-being.

    **Tried and Tested**

Kengan Ashura is an anime that probably started to sound quite familiar towards the middle of this review, and that's because it is. One can almost picture a committee of creatives being gathered into a room to come up with a new idea for an anime, coming up with squat, and instead turning to the Ye Old Bag of Anime tropes, characters, and concepts, drawing out of it a good old fighting competition where unnaturally strong men are pitted against each other for gold, girls, and glory.

Be that as it may, what I would go on to say is that this offering finds itself situated in a time where good ideas are hard to come by and where the options are either to either reboot old classics or try to present tried and tested formulas in a new and exciting manner. My initial feelings towards this particular anime was that it fit snugly in the category of ‘filler anime’ in other words, an anime that you view while better fight titles work on their follow-up seasons.

However, with time and the development of the story and characters, I came to change my mind and place Kengan Ashura precisely where it belongs, as a familiar anime that stands firmly on its own even managing to match and even surpass familiar titles that I had enjoyed before. The combatants and match-ups are exciting, with each champion getting ample space to develop their respective backstories. However, the competitions were not only limited to the Kengan arena but manifested in the various dealings of the competitive and greedy handlers of the fighters.

The anime impressed with good visuals, its primary style of animation being slightly similar to that of the newer Berserk series, and every fight managed to provide the usual level of twists, turns, and informative analysis commonplace in anime of this kind. I was also particularly happy with the development of characters such as Kazuo Yamashita, who managed to provide the necessary comic relief in between all the head bashing and general bloodshed, while also slowly and pleasantly ingratiating himself with audiences with the slow discovery of his strength as a corporate figure and as a man. I was also quite pleased with the way the anime allowed for space to present the antagonists with the opportunities to reflect on their motivations and inadequacies while also showing how they grapple with very human fears and insecurities as a result of their attitudes and actions.

An offering like Kengan Ashura is to anime what comedies with strong actors are to films, a payday. These feel like the kind of anime that are created to pay the bills, with all due understanding and respect to the arduous process of creating these beloved series. This was an anime that I grew to enjoy a lot, and it left me feeling that similar titles such as Baki the Grappler or Record of Ragnarok would be the titles that would turn filler as new episodes of Kengan Ashura were developed and produced.

This is an anime that viewers sleep on at their own risk, for under the cloak of familiarity and repetitiveness lies an awesomely bloody title with memorable characters and an engrossing storyline. Happy viewing.

I don't know if there has ever been a time in my life like September/October 2023 when it comes to the amount of content I want to know. Lots of good anime come out around the same time, and I also got an update to one of my favorite games. It will be a few or a dozen days before I write a review of both of them (now I can only do it at work, I have other things to do at home), and I would like to share my initial impressions with you now.

I'll start with the game, my text will also include the old CP2077, because when I was level 44, I tried to piss off the police, but they changed everything so much that my character was so weak that they quickly shot me. Not only due to the replacement of strains (those were probably thrown away, if I noticed correctly - I had less HP, armor, etc.), but also lower speed and other changes that are not visible at first glance. Generally, if you have an old character, it is worth starting from scratch. My V-Punk has been replaced by V-Korp, which is now level 4 or 5. For now, I'm withholding my opinion because it's a different game than the one I've played. I have to learn it completely again, because although my current knowledge is enough to play, in order to fully use the potential of CP2077, I need to get to know it better and overwrite most of my previous experience. Something like "W3 Reign of Chaos" and "W3 Frozen Throne" or DotA2 and LoL - two identical titles, especially in one case, but they can differ dramatically from each other. When playing RoC, I have to use different tactics and strategy than in FT.

The game looks much better than the old Cyberpunk, which although I liked it (I like grinding, I like running around the map in le-parkour style, earning points for various activities, even if I already know them by heart - it's left over from my time playing RTS games). a'la WC 2 & 3, Settlers 3, AoE 2, etc.), I was amused by the opinions saying that it was "a very good game in which everything has been improved" XD. Well no XD, it wasn't like that at all. I.e. sure, it was much better than at the premiere, but the words from my long review have not become outdated - you can clearly see how many mechanics from this game were thrown in just because that was the original intention, but no one bothered to expand it... Not even in a satisfactory way, what about just expanding it. Many "daily quests" and repetitive activities were at the level of the game from many years ago! The police acted WORSE than in GTA 1 (which was already ridiculed and called a "shit game" in some circles). Driving around the city is still hopeless... I can say things like a dug-up construction site where you haven't seen anyone for two years - a foreman, an engineer, or even ordinary workers carrying bricks. And I could partially turn a blind eye to it, if it weren't for the fact that they promised a great game that would change the gaming world. I don't know why people gave it 9/10, 10/10 at all XD. Some bugs have not been fixed to this day (a standard known from "The Witcher 3" - you come to a quest and you can't do it - a gift from Wakako, every time I scanned the ENTIRE house, checked EVERY option and nothing! Or you go somewhere and suddenly the route changes or something). Sure, there are fewer and fewer of them, but they are still there. I will check the game carefully and write you a longer text about CP before and after the patch. I don't know when I will play it. Probably in 2024, because this year I want to finally complete "Elden Ring" and the remake of the first "Dark Souls". At this point, I can say for sure that the new patch makes the game very, very simple. When I was playing through the game recently, you could read that I had problems when activating Rambo mode (yes, even when fighting with regular pawns - when I acted completely thoughtlessly). Now I do whatever I want and all they can do is suck me off.

    2.jpg

As for the anime, I ended up watching the episode of Gaolang vs Akitoh, the one that started with the coup. Overall, the anime is as good as I thought it would be. It's not perfect, the animation is sometimes sparse, sometimes the characters don't open their mouths in the most budget series (although the overwhelming majority of it concerns flashbacks, which makes sense, unfortunately I saw this happen twice during current events - one scene was short, I barely noticed it, the other one was already visible), but it's a detail. Everything else is done as it should be. Atmosphere, music, voice actors, idea for the plot, characters, fights, the use of martial arts, fun with this concept and the creativity of the creators. Apart from the fact that they go a bit too far with hiding hearts or escaping from fatal blows in unusual ways - it hurts a bit when fights are not 100% consistent, although I understand it to some extent - the characters may be useful to them in the future, etc. but... Well, they could kill a few of them, it would be less disturbing. I felt the OP atmosphere too much, where the characters, despite huge injuries that are impossible to survive, get up and move on. I'm also hurt by the lack of consistency elsewhere - Muteba lost his hearing (they said it directly, they didn't say he had TEMPORARILY damaged hearing), and he had no problem sitting and watching the fights in his usual way - listening. Apart from the fact that it doesn't work (in the arena it might, by some miracle, if he was downstairs, separated from the screaming spectators...), he gets his data by smell. Watching TV, what you don't understand XD. I can survive with the TV and blindness (the same with Sekibayashi's case - awesome story!!!), simplifications necessary for a cool comic, ok, but if you made an edgy move and said A, you have to say B and C, because the lack of consistency hurts. Well, apart from that, I have nothing to complain about. Each of the fights so far was shown very well, it was bloody, interesting, original, and not formulaic. I also really liked the plot of Setsuna Kiryu - I considered him a super annoying character, but now, after seeing his flashbacks, I see that it makes sense + it is quite possible to exist in real life. Of course, after some changes, but the core of the story is very Good. KA's review will come sooner because it's only 12 episodes. This week, if I remember, I will review "Baki" and "Creed 3".

Grając w RoC, muszę zastosować inną taktykę i strategię niż w FT.

No mogliby zabić paru z nich, mniej by to wybijało z rytmu.

    The plot

Probably in most cultures there was a time when there were gladiators, warriors willing to fight on behalf of their nation, for money, for conquest or for honor. You can think of any reason, the point is that they risked their lives on it. Japan is not the exception, since ancient times it is fully known that they have had warriors.

However, today it does not seem like an applicable concept, right?... Well, it turns out that there are fights, or rather combats, between the largest corporations in the nation where they bet everything.

The winner, that lucky corporation that has the strongest warrior will be the winner of everything
. Tokita Ohma is involved in this world of battles and thanks to his incredible skill he will stand out among many warriors who fight to the death.

    The characters

This anime is full of quite striking characters of all types, so I will focus on those that in my opinion are most important to broadly understand what type of story we are talking about.

    Ohma Tokita

    2.jpg

    Source

I must confess that characters like this are my weakness 😅. He is the protagonist, a man who has a difficult past since he was raised in a hostile place, without laws or security. He is raised by Niko Tokita who is the one who rescues him and is in charge of teaching him to defend himself, for this Ohma learns his unique style of martial arts.

However, Ohma was never an easygoing guy and as the character develops he becomes more complicated. He is not very talkative and that turns out obvious since most people around him are unaware of his life, his past and his motivation to fight. But even so Ohma has a perfectly clear objective, so he is willing to achieve it at any cost. He will do what he has to do.

His personality is avoidant but this is not really a surprise considering all the traumas he faced from a young age. He still has a lot of temper, a calm character to the point of seeming carefree. He also sometimes shows that he has pure and sincere feelings. He is an interesting protagonist to say the least since he maintains the suspense of his real motivation for being a fighter, as well as his genius ability to fight is also an enigma in the story.

    Kazuo Yamashita

    3.png

    Source

The definition of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He is a funny, loyal, innocent character as well as extremely clumsy and scared of everything. He is essentially completely submissive. He is nothing more than a sales worker for the Nogi company with an ordinary life who finds himself involved almost by accident in the world of corporative battles.

He is evidently one of the comic reliefs of the story, but other than that he is a character who wants to go further. He wants to improve himself and stop being "the weak one." In his own way he looks for ways to evolve, achieving a better version of himself, a stronger one.

    Niko Tokita

    4.jpg

    Source

Although this character appears sporadically, he turns out to be the greatest influence on the protagonist's life. He was his mentor and protector, the reason why Ohma is who he is and why he managed to survive. As the story progresses we see all the teachings and aspects of the personality that Ohma adopted from him, so Niko turns out to be a completely necessary character in the story.

    Hideki Nogi

    5.png

    Source

Almost all the businessmen you will see in history are like this: someone concerned only about the money and eliminating the competition in order to declare themselves the largest corporation in Japan. A fairly simple generic character but necessary for the continuity of the plot since he is the one who involves many other characters in these battles.

    The Kure Clan

    6.jpg

    Source

An ancient family formed entirely of martial arts specialists. Each of them is an exemplary fighter since they come from a long tradition of selective breeding where they have managed to "perfect" their genetics to reach the maximum and ideal capacity to be perfect warriors. They are basically a superior race.

In my opinion this gives it the most fictional, adventure touch. It brings a good part of the essence of a shōnen as well as making it interesting.

    separador flor del infierno.png

    My opinion

Without a doubt, well-made shōnen are quite entertaining and this is a very good example of that. It has drama, action and adventure in a quite energetic mix that keeps you hooked, wanting to marathon the entire season (so far there is only one). I think they work very well on the mystery behind the main character which generates a lot of intrigue, which is another factor that hooks you into the story.

    7.jpg

    Source

As for the fights, they are all spectacular, all a very interesting show to watch not only because of how eccentric the characters can be but also because the animation is phenomenal. At the time the use of CGI was quite controversial since it did not conform to the expected traditional anime style, but this anime soon showed that sometimes going outside the norm can be the best thing.

Since the center of the story is hand-to-hand combat, the use of CGI makes the movements look more fluid and natural. This was also demonstrated in the Baki anime adaptation although it was used only in specific moments, but the truth is that for the type of scenes it looks better than traditional animation. Besides, it is a style that is somewhat refreshing to see because it is different.

    8.gif

I personally hope they don't listen to the criticisms about the animation and the second season keeps using this style. It is not always necessary to make a neat piece of art loaded with details for the animation to be good. Kengan Ashura demonstrated that.

I must also mention that it is a more graphic anime than other shōnen. It shows more blood, more wounds and more broken bones. It is not exaggeratedly explicit but there are fight scenes that can give you the creeps.

You can find the first season of this anime on Netflix, the second will soon be released so you have time to quickly go to see the available episodes if you like action stories loaded with many fights.

    Hello!

    kenganashura.webp Ref: https://www.jbox.com.br/2022/03/26/kengan-ashura-2a-temporada-esta-em-producao/

Business deals are usually made through meetings and contracts; but in the world of Kengan Ashura, businesses resort to other means to make their decisions: by hiring gladiators. Yabako Sandrovich's Kengan Ashura depicts a world brimming with action, violence and martial arts one where powerful gladiators have fought in grand arenas since the Edo Period to settle the disputes of wealthy businesses and merchants.

Ouma Tokita, who is nicknamed "The Ashura," is a fighter trying to prove himself as the strongest. Hideki Nogi, a member of the Nogi Group, hires Ouma to fight for him and makes Kazuo Yamashita, an average middle-aged man, his manager. The duo is thrown into fights facilitated by the Kengan Association. Their journey will be full of ruthless battles with other fighters aiming for the same goal.

This anime was based from a manga created by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon. I'll try to limit the review to what was revealed in the anime but will occasionally explain references from the manga. I highly suggest you read the manga for more context on some of the character's backstory.

    Plot:

Kengan Matches have been around since the Edo Period of Japan. This is your standard fight to the death or until your opponent surrenders. Fighters represent a business owned by a merchant. Because back then, merchants had to hire assassins, do espionage, and other dirty ways to get their business ahead of competition. The Shogun that time, got sick of the fighting and underhanded methods these merchants do because it threatened public order.

The solution was creating an association that facilitates matches between merchants by proxy battle. Merchants hire fighters to represent them. These matches will decide the fate of their businesses depending on what is at stake. Merchants can wager who gets to build a building on a contested site, buy off another merchant's business, and forge partnerships. Anything goes on these deals.

In comes Kazuo Yamashita, your old corporate salary slave who happens to witness two fighters brawl in an alley by accident. Tokita Ohma, our protagonist with no affiliation, managed to beat the representative fighter of the Nogi Group, the parent company Kazuo's company works for. He had no idea what witnessing the event meant until he was invited by their company's president the next day for a meeting.

Because out best boy, Ohma, defeated their representative in an upcoming Kengan Match, Ohma was hired as a replacement and Kazuo as his guardian. This is how their journey starts as partners throughout the Kengan Annhiliation tournament.

The tournament will decide who becomes the next Head of the Kengan Association. It would be a competition among the members of the association.

Tokita Ohma, a fighter raised by Niko Ohma and user of the Niko Fighting Style is the protagonist of the show. His motivations for fighting is to prove that his fighting style is the strongest. He entered the tournament for the chance to meet the one that killed his master. His motivations are straightforward to understand. Even when there are new plot developments throughout the story that add depth to his character, he still keeps that steady motto of just fighting to prove he is the best and his fighting style is the best.

He's not the usual protagonist you would see being involved in comedic relief or even has a sense of humor. He's just that brooding silent type that does not beat around the bush. His motivations are plain but I don't have any problems with this at all. In fact, it's the simplicity of his character that makes it someway relatable. You want to prove you and your technique is strong so you fight for it.

It's not that complicated to understand. The show and manga display these motivations consistently as he struggles to prove he is right. Ohma is not without weakness. He does struggle within himself and has doubts in his own fighting style. The show plays with this quite well.

Kazuo Yamashita, a corporate slave salary man, throughout the show, he is your side character that becomes a means of exposition for the show. He acts as another lens for the audience to understand the story. We see Ohma and the events unfold with our own eyes and his eyes.

His character development takes a while to appreciate with all the fighting going on. Kazuo is a comedic relief and a low key tactician. His skills of observation and intuition earned him recognition from other members of the association without him knowing it. He sees himself as a father figure to Ohma and rightfully so. I would say the relationship between him and Ohma are built from surrogate father son relationship.

Hideki Nogi, the chairman of the Nogi Group, this guy has ambitious to become the next chairman of the Kengan Association. He is also responsible for nudging Ohma and Kazuo into the tournament. He is know for being a schemer with several ulterior motives for doing stuff.

After tricking Kazuo into a debt trap to help Ohma gain entry into the tournament, it is revealed that Nogi has orchestrated several layers of schemes to obtain the chairman position of the Kengan Association.

    The Good:

This is that one clip on YT suggestions that got me interested in the show on the first place.

    Kogeki Channel YT Source

The fighting scenes are not your usual hand drawn animations. They used 3D models here which usually get mixed reception. Most shows that tried mixing 3D and 2D animations in a fight failed miserably in both departments. There is a visual gap in what one can achieve with 3D and 2D that it just doesn't look right.

But in Kengan Ashura, I found the experiment to be a slight success if not, better than the other shows that tried to use 3D. Using 3D objects shortens the time it takes to finish an episode because frames no longer have to be meticulously drawn. 3D also opens opportunities for animators to experiment with perspectives as they 'film' the shot.

The fights felt more real as strikes were not portrayed heavily like superhuman feats. 2D animation tends to easily over exaggerate such strikes for more visual emphasis. Kengan Ashura breaks the standard fight scenes done by other anime by showing some degree of natural human reflexes during combat. There are no ultra super sonic speed punches but it is possible to create fast consecutive strikes that can be amazing to look at.

The plot is linear for the first season. It shouldn't be complicated when we are just here to watch people fight and cheer them on. I can't honestly help but compare this show to Baki (another popular fighting series). Compared to the other series, Kengan Ashura fights are borderline humanly possible. Some of the power spikes found in your using shonen anime can be seen here are well.

The fights between side characters are also something to look forward to. The anime shows a quick preview of their backgrounds but you can appreciate each character in depth in the manga. The match outcomes are unpredictable no matter how overpowered some characters were introduced. Being unpredictable makes the show better.

Character development for the side characters takes a while as the show slowly paces everything to Ohma and Kazuo's view point. But along the way, bits and pieces of the side characters are meshed into the plot reminding the audience that it's not only Ohma that matters in the show.

    The Bad:

I initially didn't mind the parts where the anime skipped content from the manga. I watched the anime first so there's the reason. But after reading the manga, I couldn't help but feel disappointed that some characters had more to offer than quick screen time. But I could excuse that as a limitation to a show's time constraints.

Kengan Ashura had the potential to be a believable fighting show grounded to real world fighting. But there are some elements in the plot that makes absurd overpowered fighting styles possible. It's not as bad as superhuman fights the other show frequently gives (talking about Baki series).

I do agree with some fans that having some scenes animated in 2D works better but I don't think this influenced my decision heavily in terms of rating the show. I can say it's just a pass for my taste and considering the constraints in animation. The show is experimental that it deviates from the usual 2D sketch frame by frame animation.

    Conclusion:

I recommend Kengan Ashura, the anime version to anyone that is interested in fighting anime genre. It's a niche show so I can understand that the display of muscles and testosterone will mean it would have a limited audience. It may make some want to hit go train at the gym in the hopes their punches could break walls.

The story isn't complicated to get behind and you can go in blind without reading the source material. I still recommend reading the manga if you want the full package.

  15. Kengan Ashura Manga/Anime Review@filotasriza32265d

If you are bored and wanna watch or read something that has a lot of fighting and violence then i am here for you.

Kengan Ashura is a japanese manga written by Yabako Sandrovich and illustrated by Daromeon. The manga has over 200 chapters and a new one with a time skip period is on! Also, in case you prefer to watch instead of reading there is a Netflix adaption of this one with 2 seasons. The first one aired on July 31 2019 and the second on October 31 2019 (in total 24 episodes).

I strongly suggest though to read the manga as the Netflix adaption is in 3D so the animation kinda sucks. On the other hand the drawing of the artist is in a whole other level and very detailed.

    Plot

The main plot isn't something very deep but for a fighting manga it's what we need and in a way it can be never ending. So since the Edo period rich business men and merchants in order to close some tricky and big deals hired fighters and in an underground arena the winner could close the deal. Let me give you 1 random example:

let's pretend that i have many hotels and the same goes for my rival. Then a new business opportunity arises but we both want it. Instead of playing dirty with lawyers, aggressive buyers etc etc we hire 1 fighter each, they fight and the winner can have this business opportunity with no hardfeelings.

In this world we got Kazuo Yamashita who is a 56 year old salaryman of the Nogi group which is well known. He meets the fighter Ohma Tokita a young a mysterious fighter who's taking a liking to him and soon he is registered as fighter under the Nogi Group with Yamashita as his caretaker. Soon enough, the Kengan ashura tournament will begin with all the big companies taking part in this.

    What I Like

Except the fact that the drawing and art design is perfect, there are way too many new characters introduced all with their unique appearance and fighting style. Also, regarding the fighting style the creators did a pretty good job cause they did their research and explained a bunch of things regarding the history, traits etc etc of all the styles.

There is quite some character development behind this manga and each and every contestant has its reason fighting. It's not just empty shells punching each other out. Also, during this tournament many different things are going on behind the scenes such as old rivals coming back, betrayals and more!
