Stories that are related to the time factor usually seem attractive to me, I have seen many movies about this element and that is what motivated me to watch, We Live in Time, from the beginning I knew there was a central love story and some drama, two genres that are not my favorite, romance or drama, but I decided to give it a chance only to regret it later.
I have already read two reviews of this movie in the community and we all agree that it is not a good story, that gives me a relief to note that it was not just my impression. Those of you who follow me in my reviews know that I usually write positive things about movies, though of course not everything here is bad. This story has its positive points and that's what I want to start with.

Ya he leído dos reseñas sobre esta película en la comunidad y todas coincidimos en que no es una buena historia, eso me da un alivio al observar que no fue solo mi impresión. Los que me siguen en mis reseñas saben que por lo general escribo cosas positivas de las películas, aunque por supuesto no todo aquí es malo. Esta historia tiene sus puntos positivos y es con lo que quiero iniciar.
What I liked
The main characters Almut and Tobias meet in an unexpected circumstance, when Tobias was going through a personal crisis and this encounter made his situation worse, but this twist made them both have another vision of their lives, and they will start to fall in love. I like it when stories make love come naturally and between character crises, this is usually something romantic and trite that anyone can guess what will happen; however, it is still appealing and cute to me.
There was some humor and romance in the early scenes, which kept me watching the movie. The whole story was centered around the lives of its main characters and what they built together, I was able to empathize with both characters and this is something that not every movie achieves.
Almut is a free spirited woman, passionate about everything she does, she is a chef and owns a restaurant, she doesn't want to have children, but she doesn't close herself to that possibility in the future either. She falls in love with Tobias and conceives a baby girl with the help of medicine, more to please her husband. This character stands out to me because she seems to be the construct of today's successful and empowered woman. She is capable of achieving her dreams and personal purposes.
Tobias is a sensitive man who loves his wife deeply and what he wants most is to have a family, he is a romantic man with an affable character. He is also a character that I find genuine and very current, he is the typical man who accompanies a successful woman.

Los protagonistas Almut y Tobias se conocen en una circunstancia inesperada, cuando Tobias estaba pasando por una crisis personal y este encuentro empeoró su situación, pero este giro hizo que los dos tuvieran otra visión de sus vidas, y comenzarán a enamorarse. Me gusta cuando las historias hacen que el amor surja de forma natural y entre crisis de los personajes, esto suele ser algo romántico y trillado que cualquiera puede adivinar lo que sucederá; sin embargo, no deja de ser atractivo y bonito para mí.
En las primeras escenas hubo algo de humor y romance, que me mantuvo viendo la película. Toda la historia estuvo centrada en la vida de sus protagonistas y lo que construyeron juntos, pude empatizar con ambos personajes y esto es algo que no todas las películas logran.
Almut es una mujer de espíritu libre, apasionada con cada cosa que hace, es chef y tiene un restaurante, no quiere tener hijos, pero tampoco se cierra a esa posibilidad en el futuro. Se enamora de Tobias y concibe a una niña con ayuda de la medicina, más para complacer a su esposo. Este personaje me llama la atención porque parece ser la construcción de la mujer exitosa y empoderada de la actualidad. Ella es capaz de alcanzar sus sueños y propósitos personales.
Tobias es un hombre sensible que ama profundamente a su esposa y lo que más desea es tener una familia, es un hombre romántico y de carácter afable. También es un personaje que me parece genuino y muy actual, es el típico hombre que acompaña a una mujer exitosa.
What I didn't like
I feel that they didn't take advantage of the central theme of the plot, since Almut gets sick with cancer and they could have given more sense to the title of the film where both protagonists take advantage of the time they have together, but the opposite happened, they become distant and Almut becomes more obsessed with personal achievements than spending more time with her husband and daughter.
They did not show a change in Almut's lifestyle or in the way he thought, missing the opportunity to present the viewer with a reflective moment about life and the balance that work, family and health should have.
The way they directed the movie or how they presented the sequence of the story was the most unpleasant thing for me, as they played too much with the acts of the movie. From the beginning they showed scenes that went from the past, present and future without chronological order, sometimes you could see scenes from the future and then they took you to the past, then back to the future and end up in the present, this left me with a feeling of discomfort and uncertainty that confused me every time.
One thing are the flashback resources that can interrupt the timeline to present memories or past events and quite another is to abuse this excessive way showing several timelines without any order or purpose.
One of the most important scenes that I found empty and incongruous, I describe it as follows: Almut had to pick up her daughter at school because Tobias could not pick her up and asked her (the mother) to do it, but Almut forgot because she was practicing for a contest. Leaving a child at school forgotten is one of the most painful traumas for the little one, so it doesn't seem nice or congruent for a mother who wants to leave nice memories for her daughter to do this. Also, the husband is so understanding that he lets this event pass, among other important ones.
I give it a score of 5/10 for not developing a more thoughtful theme related to the illness, for not valuing the time they had together, for its direction, and because I had a hard time carrying the sequence of the story.

Siento que no aprovecharon el tema central del argumento, ya que Almut se enferma de cáncer y pudieron darle más sentido al título de la película donde ambos protagonistas aprovechan el tiempo que tienen juntos, pero sucedió todo lo contrario, ellos se distancian y Almut se obsesiona más por los logros personales que por pasar más tiempo con su esposo e hija.
No mostraron un cambio ni en el estilo de vida de Almut ni en la forma como pensaba, perdiendo la oportunidad de presentarle al espectador un momento reflexivo sobre la vida y el equilibrio que debe tener el trabajo, la familia y la salud.
La forma como dirigieron la película o como presentaron la secuencia de la historia fue lo más desagradable para mí, ya que jugaron demasiado con los actos de la misma. Desde el inicio mostraban escenas que iban desde el pasado, presente y futuro sin orden cronológico, a veces podías ver escenas del futuro y luego te llevaban al pasado, para después volver al futuro y terminar en el presente, esto me dejó una sensación de incomodidad e incertidumbre que me confundía a cada rato.
Una cosa son los recursos de flashback que pueden interrumpir la línea de tiempo para presentar recuerdos o acontecimientos pasados y otra muy diferente es abusar de esta manera excesiva mostrando varias líneas de tiempo sin ningún orden ni propósito.
Una de las escenas más importante que me pareció vacía e incongruente, se la describo a continuación: Almut tenía que ir a buscar a su hija al colegio porque Tobias no podía buscarla y le pidió el favor a ella (la madre) que lo hiciera, pero Almut se le olvidó por estar practicando para un concurso. Dejar a un niño en el colegio olvidado es uno de los traumas más dolorosos para el pequeño, entonces no me parece ni bonito ni congruente que una madre que quiere dejar lindos recuerdos a su hija haga esto. Además, el esposo es tan comprensivo que deja pasar este evento, entre otros importantes.
Yo le doy una puntuación de 5/10 por no desarrollar un tema más reflexivo relacionado con la enfermedad, por no valorar el tiempo que tenían juntos, por su dirección y porque me costó llevar la secuencia de la historia.
