El final de la cuarta temporada de Westworld fue estrenado y así como sucedió en el episodio final de la segunda temporada, tuve esa sensación de que estuviera viendo el final de esta maravillosa historia; cada uno de los caminos que transitaron los muchos personajes en esta cuarta parte tuvieron una conclusión y aunque exista una gran posibilidad de que haya una quinta (y final) temporada, creo que lo visto en este último episodio es satisfactorio y tan solo quedaría usar la frase de la canción escrita para el film "The Man Who Knew Too Much" y que da el título para este (por los momentos) último episodio de esta serie... "Que Será, Será (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)".

The end of the fourth season of Westworld was released and just as it happened in the final episode of the second season, I had that feeling that I was watching the end of this wonderful story; each of the paths taken by the many characters in this fourth part had a conclusion and although there is a great possibility that there will be a fifth (and final) season, I think that what we saw in this last episode is satisfactory and it would only remain to use the phrase of the song written for the film "The Man Who Knew Too Much" and that gives the title for this (for the moment) last episode of this series... "Que Será, Será (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)".
"...They will only live as long as the last creature who remembers them. And that creature is me."
En el octavo y final episodio de la cuarta temporada de Westworld, pude confirmar que se llegó a lo que posiblemente sea la mejor narrativa de esta serie; en "Que Será, Será" se confirmó que la sencillez y la manera directa de relatar está cuarta parte de la serie fue una de las mejores decisiones que tuvieron Lisa Joy y Jonathan Nolan porque pienso que eso ayudó a que muchas personas que siguen a esta serie desde el principio o nuevos fans pueden entender mejor la historia y crear un lazo con la serie y participar en numerosas teorías; en mi opinión todo lo sucedido en esta temporada tanto en las revelaciones, el cierre de algunos arcos de diferentes personajes y un futuro incierto hace que por ahora final de Westworld sea satisfactorio y se convierte en una de las temporadas favoritas de muchos fans; yo siempre definiré a esta cuarta parte como una gran manera de evolucionar en una historia, usar lo hecho anteriormente, tomar lo mejor, aprender de algún fallo y hacer algo que sea no solo del gusto para el espectador, sino que satisfaga al creador (creadores) y se mantenga dentro del plan ideado para el relato de esta historia sobre el descubrimiento, evolución y en especial el de apreciar la belleza de este mundo.
In the eighth and final episode of the fourth season of Westworld, I could confirm that it reached what is possibly the best narrative of this series; in "Que Será, Será" it was confirmed that the simplicity and the direct way of telling this fourth part of the series was one of the best decisions that Lisa Joy and Jonathan Nolan had because I think that helped many people who follow this series from the beginning or new fans can better understand the story and create a bond with the series and participate in numerous theories; in my opinion everything that happened in this season both in the revelations, the closure of some arcs of different characters and an uncertain future makes for now the end of Westworld is satisfactory and becomes one of the favorite seasons of many fans; I will always define this fourth part as a great way to evolve a story, use what was done before, take the best, learn from some failure and make something that is not only to the liking of the viewer, but that satisfies the creator (creators) and stays within the plan devised for the narrative of this story about the discovery, evolution and especially to appreciate the beauty of this world.
De las siete publicaciones en dónde realicé reseñas de cada episodio de esta temporada, me enfoque en las situaciones en dónde los protagonistas eran Maeve, Hale, William, Bernard y Caleb; muy pocas veces hice referencia sobre quien es el personaje de Christina y su importancia en un nuevo mundo; todo esto a pesar de que existía la clara respuesta sobre quien en realidad era ella y más que nada sobre una de las incógnitas sobre que sucedería al momento en que Dolores despertaste; esto lo hice porque quería disfrutar o ser nuevamente testigo de este viaje de auto descubrimiento para que este personaje vuelva nuevamente a tener conciencia sobre quien es, aceptar una respuesta que se obtuvo muchos años atrás y que en el presente le daría la oportunidad de por fin ayudar a su especie y a otra que muy pocas veces le dio verdadera felicidad. En esta etapa de la historia de Christina/Dolores puede compararla por ejemplo a una persona que a causa de un trauma perdió la memoria y que parte de los causantes de ese grave problema son la que la mantienen viviendo en un engaño pensando que nunca pueda recobrar la memoria; también la comparo con el rompecabezas que deberá resolver sola o con la ayuda de personas importantes en su vida, reflejos de los mejores y peores momentos que tuvo; esos reflejos como amistades, culpas, amor, cada uno será importante para describir que solamente necesita de ella misma para resolver cualquier prueba y así regresar a quien era; con eso veo lo acertado de crear personajes como "Maya" a quien la veo como un apoyo para conocer el lado bueno y malo de alguna decisión; a "Peter Myers" un hombre que parecía ser bueno, pero culpa a Christina de lo que se convirtió y de llevarlo a terminar con su vida, para mí es un claro reflejo de lo que fue William en su primer momento en el parque, ya que él culpa a Dolores de ser quien es y por último, el reflejo del amor eterno, tal vez lo único verdadero que tuvo Dolores, "Teddy"; no hay duda que fue importante para Christina en el transitar por el Laberinto, pero quién se atrevió a decirle la verdad es quien justamente necesitaba que recupere la memoria para poder avanzar para obtener un nuevo motivo de vida, un nuevo loop, juego, una prueba final con un máximo premio por alcanzar, la supervivencia de dos especies.
Of the seven posts where I reviewed each episode of this season, I focused on the situations where the main characters were Maeve, Hale, William, Bernard and Caleb; very few times I made reference to who Christina's character is and her importance in a new world; all this despite the fact that there was a clear answer about who she really was and more than anything about one of the unknowns about what would happen at the moment Dolores woke up; I did this because I wanted to enjoy or witness again this journey of self-discovery for this character to become conscious again about who she is, to accept an answer that was obtained many years ago and that in the present would give her the opportunity to finally help her species and another that very few times gave her true happiness. At this stage of Christina/Dolores' story she can be compared for example to a person who because of a trauma lost her memory and that part of the causes of this serious problem are the ones that keep her living in a deception thinking that she will never recover her memory; I also compare her to the puzzle that she will have to solve alone or with the help of important people in her life, reflections of the best and worst moments she had; those reflections as friendships, guilt, love, each one will be important to describe that she only needs herself to solve any test and thus return to who she was; with that I see the wisdom of creating characters like "Maya" who I see as a support to know the good and bad side of any decision; Peter Myers" a man who seemed to be good, but blames Christina for what he became and for leading him to end his life, for me is a clear reflection of what William was in his first moment in the park, as he blames Dolores for being who he is and finally, the reflection of eternal love, perhaps the only true thing that Dolores had, "Teddy"; there is no doubt that he was important for Christina in the journey through the Labyrinth, but the one who dared to tell her the truth is the one who justly needed her to recover her memory in order to move forward to obtain a new motive of life, a new loop, game, a final test with a maximum prize to be achieved, the survival of two species.
Personalmente, pienso que el episodio que cerró esta temporada, en gran parte no estuvo al nivel de los anteriores aunque su importancia radica en los 20 minutos finales en dónde se enfoca a la verdadera protagonista de esta historia y que a muchas personas en algún momento parece olvidar ese gran detalle; ahora con respecto a los arcos argumentales de los demás personajes, pienso que tuvo un cierre directo y posiblemente definitivo y con esto me refiero por cómo termina el episodio y es que a causa de la última prueba que creó Dolores, es seguro que podrán aparecer nuevamente experimentando nuevas vidas en dónde puedan demostrar nuevos motivos para vivir, esto entra en la parte de posibles teorías para una quinta temporada y es algo que en este párrafo no quiero profundizar. Es imposible no nombrar a William y Hale en esta publicación; para mí el final de esta versión tuvo un buen final porque en pienso que su cometido en vida estaba completo y que ambos sean eliminados en el mismo momento era lo adecuado y es que no había más nada que aportar solamente que sus expectativas en un mundo fallido nunca fueron alcanzadas y es que ambos personajes demostraron que nunca es bueno ser "la copia de una copia" y lo único diferente entre ellos es uno (Hale) aceptó que nunca será la original y el otro que se creía una mejor versión (Williambot) fue igual de patético, destructivo y hasta más deprimente de la imagen de la cual fue creado; ahora no voy a mentir que ambos personajes fueron muy bien interpretados y es que el terror que sirvió como influencia para esta temporada provino en gran parte por de ellos dos. Quiero hacer una mención especial con respecto al personaje de Caleb el cual fue de suma importancia y creo que su cambio de rumbo en esta temporada con un motivo tan especial como es el de tener una esposa e hija podrá ser importante para una próxima temporada (imposible no escribir sobre una 5.ª temporada) porque Caleb en parte demostró (o no) de que los humanos pueden cambiar; recordemos que Maeve hackeo el sistema límbico de Caleb y le dio un motivo para vivir y que "lo mantuvo con vida" durante mucho tiempo y lo hizo luchar contra lo imposible hasta completar su objetivo; no tengo duda que la historia de Caleb y Frankie es de lo mejor de esta serie.
Personally, I think that the episode that closed this season, in great part was not at the level of the previous ones although its importance lies in the final 20 minutes where it focuses on the true protagonist of this story and that many people at some point seem to forget that great detail; Now with respect to the plot arcs of the other characters, I think it had a direct and possibly definitive closure and with this I mean by how the episode ends and is that because of the last test that Dolores created, it is certain that they may appear again experiencing new lives where they can demonstrate new reasons to live, this enters the part of possible theories for a fifth season and it is something that in this paragraph I do not want to deepen. It is impossible not to mention William and Hale in this publication; for me the end of this version had a good ending because I think that their mission in life was complete and that both are eliminated at the same time was appropriate and there was nothing more to contribute only that their expectations in a failed world were never reached and both characters showed that it is never good to be "the copy of a copy" and the only difference between them is that one (Hale) accepted that it will never be the original and the other who thought he was a better version (Williambot) was just as pathetic, destructive and even more depressing of the image from which he was created; Now I'm not going to lie that both characters were very well played and the terror that served as an influence for this season came in large part from the two of them. I want to make a special mention regarding Caleb's character which was very important and I believe that his change of course in this season with such a special reason as having a wife and daughter could be important for a next season (impossible not to write about a 5th season) because Caleb was a very important character. Let's remember that Maeve hacked Caleb's limbic system and gave him a reason to live and that "kept him alive" for a long time and made him fight against the impossible to complete his goal; I have no doubt that Caleb and Frankie's story is one of the best of this series.
Cómo fiel fan de la serie sentí satisfacción por tan buena temporada; la narrativa fue fascinante dando protagonismo a personajes secundarios dejando todo para que el final sea la verdadera y única protagonista que revela lo que puede ser el final de esta historia o posiblemente el comienzo del fin para Westworld; a varios días del estreno del final de la cuarta temporada y después de leer entrevistas de Lisa Joy refiriéndose justamente al cierre de esta 4.ª parte es claro que queda una todavía episodios por hacer, ya que el plan era terminar todo en dónde comenzó, siendo Dolores quien narre y cree el juego que Hosts y Humanos deban jugar para demostrar que puede existir una coexistencia entre ambas especies y que al final pueden salvarse los uno a los otros y justamente esto me ha hecho pensar en alguna que otra teoría para la quinta y final temporada que hasta el día de hoy no se ha oficializado. Creo que la teoría principal con respecto al juego es la prueba de que los humanos pueden tomar decisiones diferentes y así romper esa la monotonía llena de locura, dejar de demostrar lo predecible que se puede ser; esto en la segunda temporada, en el episodio final se hace una clara referencia con James Delos y William, ambos siguen tomando la misma decisión una y otra vez y eso los encierra en un loop el cual se les hace imposible de salir y tal vez esa sea en parte lo importante en este juego; ahora para mí la verdadera incógnita es ¿En qué pueden cambiar los Hosts? Recordemos que está especie se convirtió en un enfermo experimento, en dónde eran usados, destruidos, solo para el entretenimiento de muchos Humanos, esto es una de las cosas que me crea una gran incógnita como también que ocurrirá con los humanos que fueron infectados y que también fueron conocidos como Hosts; sus mentes fueron copiadas y toda esa información ahora la comparte Dolores en el Sublime, ellos también participan y seguro se enfocará en quienes deban primeramente enfrentar cambios como por ejemplo Frankie quien Bernard la clasificó como quien salvará al mundo, pienso que su historia no está completamente dicha y tal vez Dolores al momento de buscar a Caleb supo de alguna manera que Caleb o algún descendiente sería de gran importancia para salvar al mundo, ahora ¿Qué tipo de mundo? ¿Cómo será ese mundo en dónde cada humano está infectado por la visión de William? Pienso que uno más apocalíptico del que vimos en esta temporada y tal vez eso haga difícil una futura misión de Frankie la cual para ser sincero creo que deberá tener un gran protagonismo en una quinta parte y es que los humanos en el mundo real o en el Sublime tendrá un gran peso y me enfocó en esa especie porque siendo sincero no sé que pueda o deba ocurrir con los Host en el Sublime, solo puedo pensar en como se comportaran cuando deban lidiar con los cambios realizados por Dolores porque si recordamos las palabras de Akecheta a Bernard en esta 4.ª temporada, los Host no tienen ningún afecto hacia los humanos, él no comparte el cariño que puede sentir Bernard por el mundo humano porque no lo ve necesario y pienso que ahí existirá un conflicto (otro más) que amenace la coexistencia entre ambas especies; esto pienso que es en parte lo que puede ocurrir en la esperada quinta parte y espero que si reciba luz verde para cerrar de la mejor manera está historia, creo que ahora más que nunca necesitamos un regreso al parque, un último viaje.
As a loyal fan of the series I felt satisfaction for such a good season; the narrative was fascinating giving protagonism to secondary characters leaving everything for the end to be the true and only protagonist that reveals what could be the end of this story or possibly the beginning of the end for Westworld; several days before the premiere of the end of the fourth season and after reading interviews of Lisa Joy referring precisely to the closing of this 4. It is clear that there is still one more episode to go, since the plan was to end everything where it started, being Dolores who narrates and creates the game that Hosts and Humans must play to show that there can be a coexistence between both species and that in the end they can save each other and this has made me think of some other theory for the fifth and final season that to this day has not been made official. I think the main theory regarding the game is the proof that humans can make different decisions and thus break that monotony full of madness, stop showing how predictable you can be; this in the second season, in the final episode a clear reference is made with James Delos and William, both keep making the same decision over and over again and that locks them in a loop which is impossible to get out and maybe that is partly the important thing in this game; now for me the real question is what can change the Hosts? Let's remember that this species became a sick experiment, where they were used, destroyed, only for the entertainment of many Humans, this is one of the things that creates a great unknown for me as well as what will happen with the humans that were infected and that were also known as Hosts; Their minds were copied and all that information is now shared by Dolores in the Sublime, they also participate and surely will focus on those who must first face changes as for example Frankie who Bernard classified her as the one who will save the world, I think her story is not completely told and maybe Dolores at the time of looking for Caleb knew somehow that Caleb or some descendant would be of great importance to save the world, now what kind of world? What will that world be like where every human is infected by William's vision? I think one more apocalyptic than we saw in this season and maybe that makes difficult a future mission of Frankie which to be honest I think it should have a great role in a fifth part and is that humans in the real world or in the Sublime will have a great weight and I focused on that species because being honest I do not know what can or should happen with the Host in the Sublime, I can only think about how they will behave when they must deal with the changes made by Dolores because if we remember the words of Akecheta to Bernard in this 4. Season 4, the Host have no affection for humans, he does not share the affection that Bernard may feel for the human world because he does not see it necessary and I think that there will be a conflict (another one) that threatens the coexistence between both species; I think this is partly what can happen in the expected fifth part and I hope it gets the green light to close this story in the best way, I think now more than ever we need a return to the park, one last trip.
