Alien Romulus turn out to be a great movie, can't say its a masterpiece but it gets really close to be honest, at least I see it that way and really enjoy it, for best experience at home I would recommend watching it on VR or a big ass TV to get that immersive feel. Romulus is a good addition to the franchise, it revisits the roots of the Alien Universe in the best way possible and it gets back that feeling of the era from the first movies but in today's world. The movie is directed by Fede Alvarez who also directed great movies like Evil Dead (2013) and Don't Breathe (2015) both great movies to watch on their own bracket. Romulus take place 20 years after the original Alien movie which was set in 2122 setting it at 2142, 37 years before Aliens (1986), Romulus is a movie full of tension as I expect it with very dark sci-fi scenes similar to the original movie. I had a lot of anticipation and excitement about this movie, it really came through, I can confidently without a doubt give it a 8/10 in my own rating.

The movie develops around the character of Rain, played by Cailee Spaeny, who is an orphaned young woman forced to work at a mining colony owned by the Weyland Yutani Corporation which has a very dark reputation. Her only friend is Andy, played by David Jonsson, an android of her dad’s who was program by him with only one mission, to ensure her safety at all times, but he is broken badly so everyone makes fun of him and abuse him. They both have a dream of leaving the current life behind and go start a new life on a distant farming planet but it gets very sketchy, their plans get more dangerous once they decide to take an abandoned Weyland Yutani carrier ship, the Romulus & Remus, in a hope to find cryogenic pods that would help them get to their intended destination.

Being an Alien movie, they are not left to wander the ship for long before they come across face huggers and Xenomorphs. As Rain and her friends go through the corridors of Romulus & Remus, the movie does not take up too long to create tension with everyone on board trying to evade becoming aliens meal or get one explode out of your chest. This may sound like a familiar story, but it is told with enough style to keep you interested, yes one would say its always the same story but its about the craft to make it different some how and introduce new characters and put them under different situations under the same overall situation, Aliens and their acid blood.

The cast of the movie I think did a great job with all type of characters from Andy been the most vulnerable at first even more than Rain to latter on become a bad mf, doing with is best for them based straight up on numbers and possibilities instead of taking decisions based on feelings.

Then we got Bjorn giving everyone such a hard time making a great contrast with Rain and Andy, sadly there were the two other supporting characters like Tyler and Kay who to be honest had almost close to very little to do with the development of the movie, almost irrelevant in my opinion, at least Navarro got her chest blown out very fast by an Alien. Isabela Merced as Kay, does brings empathy to her role even if she does not appear much, even if some characters exist solely to be killed, every major character is interesting in some way or another, ones more than others.

Online on most Movie Rating Websites like IMDB or RottenTomatoes I think fans and critics had a great response to the movie, receiving good reviews from both sides, ratings from 7 to 8.5 out of 10, on IMDB with over 148k votes, which means that viewers willing to accept the changes implemented on this version of the movie as well as references to the old movies within the franchise. Yes as any other movie in the a franchise where the story and topic at hand is always the same, the movie will be criticized on being cliched and containing scenes similar if not the same as the previous version / movies within the franchise, do you have a Harry Potter movie without magic or a Game of Thrones series without sword fight?

Personally I found Alien: Romulus to be an exciting roller coaster that is be faithful to the original yet not a direct carbon copy, the mood of the movie is perfect for the series as it gives the audience the fear and the suspense which were characteristic for the first movies, the sequence with the acidic blood floating around in zero gravity was original, and I know will get everyone on the edge of their seat during this scene, one wrong move and its game over.

I had certain problems with the third part of the movie, the last battle scene was a tad unrealistic and to be honest too easy to get rid of all the Aliens, if there were flaws this was the mayor one, not everything is pink and rainbow within the movie, killing almost every Alien in a single shot and having the "Offspring" as they call the Human / Alien hybrid was so predictable. Despite these flaws, Romulus is still a good addition to the franchise, don't take it as the movie that is going to revolutionize the franchise but the movie that will open doors so it can keep growing, since Covenant we had nothing and left with a lot of questions and I just hope Romulus can get us into a new direction leading to the architects.

The movie also touch on some topics as corporate greed and exploitation in the course of the story without making it seem like a social commentary, Fede Alvarez in my opinion did a great job ad keeping his distance and make the movie specific to the topic at hand, ALIENS!!

Los 70’ y las películas sobre posesiones, satanismos, jóvenes adolescentes siendo el vínculo entre el Inframundo con el nuestro, es una mezcla adecuada que funciona muy bien en mucho de este tipo de producciones en dónde aparte de la característica antes dichas, se deben sumar otras más como son la incredulidad, la inocencia, pero también existencia de la curiosidad, las ganas de experimentar y hasta de controlar, ingredientes que nuevamente repito, son las correctas para crear una excelente historia de terror.

The 70's and movies about possessions, satanism, young teenagers being the link between the Underworld and ours, is an appropriate mix that works very well in many of this type of productions where apart from the above mentioned characteristics, others must be added such as disbelief, innocence, but also the existence of curiosity, the desire to experiment and even to control, ingredients that again I repeat, are the right ones to create an excellent horror story.

"Late Night with the Devil", film de terror sobrenatural, estrenado en el festival South by Southwest el pasado año y con un estreno tanto salas de cine como en Netflix en este año, narra la historia de la realización de un documental el cual utiliza un "Metraje Encontrado" de un episodio especial de Halloween de un Late-Night Talk Show llamado "Night Owls" conducido por "Jack Delroy", un episodio que significaba el regreso de dicho conductor a la TV y para eso necesitó invitados que crearán una noche inolvidable y sí que lo fue porque uno de esos invitados fue el mismo diablo.

"Late Night with the Devil", a supernatural horror film, premiered at the South by Southwest festival last year and with a theatrical and Netflix release this year, tells the story of the making of a documentary which uses "Found Footage" from a special Halloween episode of a Late-Night Talk Show called "Night Owls" hosted by "Jack Delroy", an episode that meant the return of said host to TV and for that he needed guests that would create an unforgettable night and yes it was because one of those guests was the devil himself.

Film dirigido, escrito y editado por los hermanos, Colin y Cameron Cairnes, los cuales hacen un gran trabajador por la ambientación de todo lo referente a la época en dónde se desarrolla la historia; la musicalización, la vestimenta, el estilo del programa televisivo que es referente a todos los Talk Shows de la actualidad en la televisión norteamericana; me gustó que ambos directores fueran detallistas para potenciar el punto de vista del relato el cual es realizado desde la cámara que se convierte en el gran testigo de todo lo que sucede, aunque también existen y ocurren ciertas cosas que son relatadas desde perspectivas diferentes, que no son captadas por la cámara que filma el show.

El guion es excelente, lo mejor del film; la narrativa es completamente especial desde el prólogo hasta los tres actos que conforman la historia; justamente cada uno tiene un desarrollo perfecto para los sucesos del final y por eso se me hace difícil saber cuál de los tres es mejor; la historia tiene como base la necesidad de ser mejor, de volver a ser relevante, importante y hasta puedo decir único; algo normal en lo que sucede en el mundo del entretenimiento y es que la fama para esta historia es un motivo y causa de muchas situaciones y pienso que justamente eso da un toque de realidad porque ahora, en estos tiempos, cualquiera haría lo imposible para ser famoso.

Film directed, written and edited by the brothers, Colin and Cameron Cairnes, who do a great job for the setting of everything related to the time in which the story takes place; the music, the clothes, the style of the television program that is a reference to all the Talk Shows of the present in the North American television; I liked that both directors were detailed to enhance the point of view of the story which is made from the camera that becomes the great witness of everything that happens, although there are also and occur certain things that are told from different perspectives, which are not captured by the camera that films the show.

The script is excellent, the best of the film; the narrative is completely special from the prologue to the three acts that make up the story; precisely each one has a perfect development for the events of the end and that is why it is difficult for me to know which of the three is better; the story is based on the need to be better, to be relevant, important and I can even say unique; something normal in what happens in the world of entertainment and is that fame for this story is a motive and cause of many situations and I think that just that gives a touch of reality because now, in these times, anyone would do the impossible to be famous.

Todas las actuaciones son muy buenas, no hay ninguna que tenga un fallo porque como dije anteriormente, los directores fueron muy detallistas con la recreación de lo que fue un Talk Show de los 70' y no fue tan solo el diseño de la escenografía, la vestimenta o la música, nada de eso hubiera funcionado, si no es por la interpretación de cada uno de los personajes que aparecen en escena; como un primer ejemplo cito a Fayssal Bazzi quien interpreta al psíquico "Christou", se puede decir que sobreactúa en su interpretación, pero la verdad es que su actuación es perfecto para el personaje, así como ocurre con Rhys Auteri y su interpretación de "Gus McConnell", personaje que implementa el humor y el uso de la razón en esta historia, pero los personajes que más me impactaron fue "Lilly" y "Jack Delroy", interpretados por Ingrid Torelli y David Dastmalchian, ambos hacen un gran trabajo; la joven actriz tiene la imagen y la actitud necesaria para crear un ambiente nada agradable, es una chica dulce, pero a la vez perturbadora, con respecto a Jack, el personaje es perfecto, es el típico conductor de un show que es simpático, divertido, tiene esa imagen de ser una buena persona, pero si no tienes la necesaria fama, entonces ninguno de esos atributos funcionan y justamente, esos miedos o esa necesidad son los causantes de las muchas situaciones en este film.

All the performances are very good, there is no one that has a flaw because as I said before, the directors were very detailed with the recreation of what was a 70's Talk Show and it wasn't just the set design, the costumes or the music, none of that would have worked, if it wasn't for the interpretation of each of the characters that appear on stage; as a first example I cite Fayssal Bazzi who plays the psychic "Christou", it can be said that he overacts in his interpretation, but the truth is that his performance is perfect for the character, as well as it happens with Rhys Auteri and his interpretation of "Gus McConnell", character that implements humor and the use of reason in this story, but the characters that impacted me the most was "Lilly" and "Jack Delroy", played by Ingrid Torelli and David Dastmalchian, both do a great job; the young actress has the image and the necessary attitude to create a not very nice atmosphere, she is a sweet girl, but at the same time disturbing, with respect to Jack, the character is perfect, he is the typical show host that is nice, funny, has that image of being a good person, but if you don't have the necessary fame, then none of those attributes work and precisely, those fears or that need are the cause of the many situations in this film.

Esta es de esas películas que quería ver, pero manteniendo pocas expectativas y creo que eso fue lo correcto, esto lo digo no porque crea Late Night with the Devil sea una mala película, lo cual es todo lo contrario, es una de las mejores que he visto en este año; este es un pequeño film, refiriéndome al presupuesto, pero es de las películas que usan cada minuto de metraje de una excelente manera, cada momento es relevante, es un aporte importante para la historia y por eso es muy buena película; repito lo referente a los detalles en su ambientación, el buen casting, la excelente escritura de los personajes y por supuesto la interpretación de los actores y a todo eso, hago referencia al uso de efectos especiales prácticos, así como el poco uso del CGI, los cuales son perfectos para esta producción. Estoy completamente seguro que el homenaje primeramente a programas televisivos de los 70', a sus conductores, quienes quieren ser como sus héroes, obtener esa clase de fama es muy importante para la historia, así como la influencia de "The Exorcist" (1973) lo cual creo que pudo crear expectativas en cierto público el cual piensa que el acto final no es satisfactorio, pero personalmente pienso que es adecuado para esta historia de terror que es perfecta para Halloween.

This is one of those movies that I wanted to see, but keeping low expectations and I think that was the right thing to do, I say this not because I think Late Night with the Devil is a bad movie, which is the opposite, it is one of the best I have seen this year; this is a small film, referring to the budget, but it is one of those movies that use every minute of footage in an excellent way, every moment is relevant, it is an important contribution to the story and that is why it is a very good movie; I repeat the details in its setting, the good casting, the excellent writing of the characters and of course the performance of the actors and to all that, I refer to the use of practical special effects, as well as the little use of CGI, which are perfect for this production. I am completely sure that the homage first of all to 70's TV shows, to their hosts, who want to be like their heroes, to get that kind of fame is very important for the story, as well as the influence of "The Exorcist" (1973) which I think could create expectations in certain audiences who think that the final act is not satisfactory, but personally I think it is adequate for this horror story which is perfect for Halloween.

There's something charming and comforting about a sitcom set in a convenience store. This is the place where all sorts of people come to shop. There's a certain appeal to it where it also exposes our everyday, mundane lives through the eyes of its owner, staff, and even customers. Perhaps that is what this series tries to convey.

I came to know Kim's Convenience Store a few years back, but it never appealed to me until the Netflix evil algorithm started harassing me with these recommendations. I suspect this happened because I enjoy watching all the other sitcoms and comedy shows. The series is based on a play by Ins Cho, who is also the director of this series and shares the same title. It spans five seasons, with each season having 13 episodes.

The stars are not the ones that you usually think of, but there's a familiar face: Simi Liu, who stars as the son of Kim's family. If you're Canadian, the rest of the actors, such as Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, might ring a bell.

Kim's Convenience Store is about the lives of Kim's family, who emigrated from South Korea to Canada; they run a shop and are blessed with two children, Jannet and Jun. Mr. Kim is a typical Asian man with various dad jokes, and Mrs. Kim is a typical ambitious tiger Asian mom with an intense devotion to her faith. 

While some reports argued that the season wouldn't continue due to criticism of its lack of representation, I can understand where they are coming from. However, the main issue was that the director had also called quit and moved on to another project. Unfortunately, I wanted to see the ending and get more closure.

I love how the characters can feel so relatable, especially Janet, with her passion for creativity and ambitions. In many Asian communities, pursuing a creative career often lacks prestige. However, Kim's Convenience Store tries to show that there is nothing wrong with pursuing photography or the like. That message is sent through the characterization of Mr. Kim, who showed unwavering support for Janet.

While some fall asleep binge-watching Friends or How I Met Your Mother, this is my jam. It's heartbreaking to me that I've finished the entire season, and it ended hanging. But at least the ending got me teary, especially during the poignant dinner scene. Appa's Mr Kim's heartfelt speech was touching and resonated with me.

That being said, Kim's Convenience sitcoms are definitely for you if you enjoy family sitcoms. They're light-hearted and easy to binge-watch.

Hola, querido hiver.

El final de la primera temporada de Juego de tronos dejó la intriga en el aire, como debe ser si quieres que tus seguidores se queden enganchados a tu serie. Necesitas saber qué es lo siguiente que sucede.

Aviso de spoiler

A partir de aquí es imposible continuar con las reseñas sin desvelar lo que va sucediendo en la serie, así que desde ya quedas avisado. Si eres de los que no les importa conocer los finales, adelante y bienvenido. Yo misma conozco quién termina por ocupar el famoso trono de hierro y eso no me impide que la esté disfrutando cada minuto, pero precisamente porque respeto mucho los gustos de cada uno te lo dejo a tu sabia y oportuna elección.

Tras los asesinatos las muertes del rey Robert Baratheon y de Lord Stark ahora tenemos a Joffrey Baratheon como rey y a Robb Stark como su máximo enemigo que busca vengar la muerte de su padre. Para ello se dirige hacia Desembarco del Rey con las tropas del Norte y deja a su hermano Bran gobernando Invernalia en su ausencia.

Le saldrá al encuentro Tywin Lannister, actual patriarca de la familia. Este envía a su hijo menor, Tyrion, a Desembarco del Rey para que sea la Mano de Joffrey en su ausencia.

El personaje de Tyrion es fascinante. Representa al miembro díscolo de la familia, capaz de decirles a la cara sus miserias y de enfrentarse a quien haga falta. A pesar de ser físicamente el más débil de todos por su acondroplasia (enanismo) su espiritu de supervivencia le lleva a liderar con éxito las tropas de su sobrino.

Aparece en escena otro rey aspirante al Trono de Hierro. Se trata del hermano del fallecido Robert, Stannis Baratheon. Este se alía con una sacerdotisa muy oscura llamada Melissandre. Es ella quien le convence de marchar a recuperar el reino.

Stannis se planta en las murallas de Desembarco del Rey con su flota de barcos y se produce una épica batalla, en la que terminan por ser los defensores de la ciudad quienes repudian a los atacantes.

Por otro lado, el joven Theon Greyjoy, que se ha criado con los Stark, regresa al lado de su padre, que se quiere proclamar Rey de las Islas del Hierro. Aquí van a faltar tierras para tantos reyes, ya lo veo venir... de momento, Theon debe ganarse la aprobación de su padre y su hermana, que le consideran un Stark más y no se fían de sus verdaderas capacidades y lealtad a la familia.

La reacción de Theon es buscar ganarse méritos como sea y para ello se presenta en Invernalia aprovechando la ausencia de Robb, lo que provoca que Brandon tenga que huir de allí.

Y si has ido contando, sabrás que nos falta un aspirante más. Esta es la khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen, que ahora es conocida por ser la Madre de Dragones y que busca hacerse con un ejército para (¡oh, sorpresa!) dirigirse también a conquistar el trono que le pertenece.

Durante esta temporada la encontramos llegando a la ciudad de Qart esperando encontrar aliados para su causa y lo que recibe es intentos de engañarla y el robo de sus pequeños dragones. Para recuperarlos deberá enfrentarse a la magia oscura.

Por su parte, el joven Jon Nieve que estaba destinado en el Muro forma parte de una expedición por las tierras que quedan al otro lado. Es un lugar hostil donde reinan el frío y la nieve y donde los peligros acechan por todos los costados. Allí cae preso de una salvaje que le lleva hasta su campamento.

La temporada termina con Sam, el amigo de Jon Nieve, quedándose retrasado de la comitiva que sale en busca de Nieve y topándose con un ejército de los temidos Caminantes Blancos.

Por el momento la serie me sigue atrapando. En algunas partes la acción se ralentiza para que coincidan después determinados hechos del futuro, pero no llega a aburrir. Hi, dear hiver.

The first season finale of Game of Thrones left the intrigue hanging in the air, as it should if you want your fans to stay hooked on your show. You need to know what happens next.

Spoiler warning

From here on it's impossible to continue with the reviews without giving away what's happening in the series, so you've been warned. If you're one of those who don't mind knowing the endings, go ahead and welcome. I myself know who ends up occupying the famous iron throne and that does not prevent me from enjoying every minute, but precisely because I respect the tastes of each one I leave it to your wise and timely choice.

After the assassinations the deaths of King Robert Baratheon and Lord Stark we now have Joffrey Baratheon as king and Robb Stark as his greatest enemy who seeks to avenge his father's death. To this end he heads for King's Landing with the Northern troops and leaves his brother Bran to rule Winterfell in his absence.

He is met by Tywin Lannister, the current patriarch of the family. He sends his youngest son, Tyrion, to King's Landing to be Joffrey's Hand in his absence.

Tyrion's character is fascinating. He represents the wayward member of the family, able to tell them their miseries to their faces and stand up to whoever is needed. Despite being physically the weakest of them all due to his achondroplasia (dwarfism), his spirit of survival leads him to successfully lead his nephew's troops.

Another pretender to the Iron Throne appears on the scene. It is the brother of the late Robert, Stannis Baratheon. He allies himself with a very dark priestess named Melissandre. It is she who convinces him to march to take back the kingdom.

Stannis plants himself on the walls of King's Landing with his fleet of ships and an epic battle ensues, in which the defenders of the city end up repulsing the attackers.

Meanwhile, young Theon Greyjoy, who has grown up with the Starks, returns to the side of his father, who wants to proclaim himself King of the Iron Islands. There's going to be a shortage of land for so many kings here, I can see it coming... for now, Theon must win the approval of his father and sister, who see him as just another Stark and don't trust his true abilities and loyalty to the family.

Theon's reaction is to seek to earn his own merits by any means necessary, and to do so he shows up at Winterfell, taking advantage of Robb's absence, which causes Brandon to flee.

And if you've been counting, you'll know that we're missing one more contender. This is the Khaleesi Daenerys Targaryen, who is now known to be the Mother of Dragons and who is looking to gather an army to (oh, surprise!) also set out to conquer the throne that belongs to her.

During this season we find her arriving in the city of Qart hoping to find allies for her cause and what she receives is attempts to trick her and the theft of her little dragons. To get them back she will have to face dark magic.

Meanwhile, the young Jon Snow, who was stationed at the Wall, is part of an expedition to the lands beyond. It is a hostile place where cold and snow reign and danger lurks on all sides. There he falls prey to a wildling who leads him to her camp.

The season ends with Jon Snow's friend Sam falling behind the party that sets out in search of Snow and encountering an army of the dreaded White Walkers.

At the moment the series is still gripping me. In some parts the action slows down to coincide with certain events in the future, but it doesn't get boring. The extension of the plot to new characters is necessary because the deaths are happening at breakneck speed. At this rate, not even the prompter will be left alive, hehe.

La dificultad para demostrar originalidad en películas slashers es impresionante; posiblemente todo se ha hecho en este género y por eso solo queda aceptar la influencia de películas clásicas haciéndonos ver más de lo mismo en cada una de estas películas que más que revitalizar al género, su principal función es mantenerla con vida así como ocurre con sus muchos despiadados asesinos que solo esperan que aparezca un nuevo grupo de víctimas y volver a atacar; es así como este estilo de films, siempre estarán presentes en cada año porque la facilidad del relato y lo divertido de las escenas de terror, harán que siempre estén presentes.

The difficulty to show originality in slasher films is impressive; possibly everything has been done in this genre and that is why we can only accept the influence of classic films making us see more of the same in each of these films that rather than revitalize the genre, its main function is to keep it alive as well as it happens with its many ruthless killers who are just waiting for a new group of victims to appear and attack again; that is how this style of films will always be present in each year because the ease of the story and the fun of the horror scenes, will make them always present.

"In a Violent Nature" film slasher canadiense, estrenado en este año que tiene como premisa el usar la perspectiva de un asesino sobrenatural que al resucitar, comienza una casería contra inocentes personas en un extenso bosque; está debe ser la sinopsis más corta que he escrito en una reseña, pero es lo que ofrece está directa historia sobre un asesino y sus numerosas víctimas.

"In a Violent Nature" Canadian slasher film, released this year, has the premise of using the perspective of a supernatural killer who, upon resurrection, begins a murderous rampage against innocent people in a vast forest; this may be the shortest synopsis I've ever written in a review, but that's what this straightforward story about a killer and his numerous victims offers.

Este film fue dirigido y escrito por Chris Nash, quien anteriormente había realizado esta doble función en varios cortometrajes y eso significa que en esta oportunidad, dirige su primer largometraje y en dónde demuestra un excelente trabajo mostrando la perspectiva del asesino como protagonista principal de la historia. No es un secreto que de manera inmediata podemos relacionar cualquier toma con un videojuego; el uso de una visión de tercera persona para seguir al asesino es tal cual, así como lo extenso de la toma, el nulo uso de música de fondo y algo que me llamó la atención, lo cual es el ruido que el asesino percibe lo cual lo dirige hacia sus víctimas; como dije, creo que la mayoría de las personas pensaran que están en un videojuego, pero la verdadera influencia que uso este director, fue trabajos hechos por otro director, me refiero a Gus Van Sant, que en películas como por ejemplo "Elephant" (2003), se usa ese tipo de tomas para seguir a sus muchos personajes; personalmente al saber de la influencia que obtuvo Nash de Van Sant, me hizo apreciar aún más su trabajo y es que no solo es sobre seguir a un solo personaje, creo que todo lo demás es muy artístico, la fotografía es excelente y las muertes a pesar de lo gráfica y sangrientas, son excelentes, son perfectas para el personaje y la historia.

Como dije anteriormente, el guion es simple y directo, pero hay muchas cosas más las cuales no trataré de revelar todas para no hacer innecesarios spoilers; por ejemplo, el guion cumple con todos los clichés necesarios, uno de esos es muy importante, lo cuales son las víctimas del asesino, todos cumplen, son correctos, me refiero a que su juventud los hace tontos, irresponsables, temerarios, las víctimas perfectas y eso lo aprecio, también se cumple con dar un pasado y a la vez un motivo para el asesino, sin importar que es un muerto viviente, en la mayoría de los slashers hay motivos y me agradó que este tenga el más simple y repetitivo de todos; justamente la historia del asesino es de los puntos positivos porque tiene un potencial enorme para ser desarrollado en futuras producciones. El guion no es original, pero eso no importa mucho, ya que provee lo necesario para el relato de esta terrorífica historia.

This film was directed and written by Chris Nash, who had previously performed this dual role in several short films and that means that in this opportunity, he directs his first feature film and where he demonstrates an excellent job showing the perspective of the killer as the main protagonist of the story. It's no secret that we can immediately relate any shot to a video game; the use of a third-person view to follow the killer is just like that, as well as the length of the shot, the lack of background music and something that caught my attention, which is the noise that the killer perceives which directs him towards his victims; as I said, I think most people will think they are in a video game, but the real influence that this director used, was work done by another director, I mean Gus Van Sant, who in movies like "Elephant" (2003), he uses that kind of shots to follow his many characters; personally knowing about the influence that Nash got from Van Sant, made me appreciate his work even more and it's not only about following a single character, I think everything else is very artistic, the photography is excellent and the deaths despite how graphic and gory, are excellent, they are perfect for the character and the story.

As I said before, the script is simple and straightforward, but there are many more things which I won't try to reveal all of them in order not to make unnecessary spoilers; for example, the script complies with all the necessary clichés, one of those is very important, which are the killer's victims, they all comply, they are correct, I mean their youth makes them silly, irresponsible, reckless, the perfect victims and I appreciate that, it also complies with giving a past and at the same time a motive for the killer, no matter that he is an undead, in most slashers there are motives and I was pleased that this has the most simple and repetitive of all; just the killer's story is one of the positive points because it has a huge potential to be developed in future productions. The script is not original, but that doesn't matter much, as it provides what is necessary for the telling of this terrifying story.

No me voy a extender para nada con respecto a las actuaciones; son las correctas para el estilo de película que es, la existencia del cómico, la valiente, la drogadicta, la chica que todos desean, el novio molesto y el amigo enamorado, no existe ninguna queja de mi parte por el uso de este tipo de personajes, creo que todos lo hacen de manera correcta; más que describir la actuación de quién interpreta al asesino, creo que al existir tanto homenaje de clásicos slashers, es notorio que el diseño y comportamiento del asesino es el mejor de todos, es la necesidad de hacer daño, de destruir, de tener noción de lo que se quiere hacer y sentir satisfacción en hacerlo, pienso que ahí está la diferencia entre este asesino con los demás, ya que dentro de su tipo de personaje, es el motivo lo que le impulsa a matar de manera tan violenta.

I am not going to expand at all with respect to the performances; they are correct for the style of film it is, the existence of the comedian, the brave, the drug addict, the girl that everyone wants, the annoying boyfriend and the friend in love, there is no complaint on my part for the use of this type of characters, I think they all do it correctly; more than describing the performance of who plays the killer, I think that since there is so much homage to classic slashers, it is notorious that the design and behavior of the killer is the best of all, is the need to hurt, to destroy, to have a notion of what you want to do and feel satisfaction in doing it, I think that's the difference between this killer with the others, because within his type of character, is the motive that drives him to kill so violently.

Amo los slashers, no me cansaré de repetirlo, este tipo de historias tan repetitivas cuando son buenas las encuentro muy divertidas y a pesar de que este es un film lento, ya que se toma su tiempo para ir evolucionando a un asesino que desde el poder de su oído y sus recuerdos, podrá ir explorando y cazando a sus víctimas. In a Violent Nature, no es un film original y es claro que su director y guionista no quería hacer algo considerado nuevo, pero que si sume algo al género y creo que lo ha conseguido al usar una idea que se ha explorado muy poco, creo que en "Halloween", la original y la estrenada en 2018, podemos observar esa perspectiva del asesino, pero no de una manera tan extensa como ocurre en este film; lo otro es que no se limita y hay un buen uso de la imaginación para realizar impactantes escenas, así como el de sonidos específicos para hacer más contundente una escena, eso lo aprecié mucho así como el final, un epílogo que hace algo diferente en lo visto en el film, pero necesario para crear tensión y suspenso. Este es un buen film, posiblemente al ser más de lo mismo, no encuentren algo bueno que decir, pero creo que es un gran trabajo de su director y guionista, ya que tiene la valentía de revitalizar lo ya hecho.

I love slashers, I will not get tired of repeating it, this kind of repetitive stories when they are good I find them very funny and although this is a slow film, as it takes its time to evolve a murderer that from the power of his ear and his memories, he can explore and hunt his victims. In a Violent Nature, it is not an original film and it is clear that its director and screenwriter did not want to do something considered new, but that if it adds something to the genre and I think he has achieved it by using an idea that has been explored very little, I think that in "Halloween", the original and the one released in 2018, we can observe that perspective of the murderer, but not in such an extensive way as it happens in this film; the other thing is that it is not limited and there is a good use of imagination to make shocking scenes, as well as that of specific sounds to make a scene more forceful, I appreciated that a lot as well as the end, an epilogue that does something different in what we have seen in the film, but necessary to create tension and suspense. This is a good film, possibly being more of the same, you will not find something good to say, but I think it is a great job of its director and screenwriter, as it has the courage to revitalize what has already been done.

El terror como género cinematográfico, posiblemente sea imposible el realizar un film y no convertirlo en una franquicia; creo que es el cliché imposible de no replicar en este tipo de films y es que en mi opinión hay muy pocos directores y guionistas, que crean icónicos personajes y que solamente piensan en un comienzo, desarrollo y final, sin nada más que relatar o expandir, justamente en ese pequeño grupo de directores no está Ti West que desde el estreno de "X" y "Pearl" en 2022, estaba preparado para relatar una historia que hace homenaje a películas de épocas entre los 50' y 80'.

Horror as a film genre, it is probably impossible to make a film and not turn it into a franchise; I think it is the cliché impossible not to replicate in this type of films and in my opinion there are very few directors and screenwriters, who create iconic characters and only think of a beginning, development and end, with nothing more to tell or expand, just in that small group of directors is not Ti West that since the release of "X" and "Pearl" in 2022, was prepared to tell a story that pays homage to films of times between the 50' and 80'.

"MaXXXine", tercero y (parece ser) último film de esta franquicia de terror dirigida, escrita y editada por Ti West; esta secuela directa de "X", veremos a "Maxine Minx", quien a finales de los 70' fue la única sobreviviente de la masacre en un establo de Texas y ahora a mediados de los 80’, sigue en la búsqueda de convertirse en una "Estrella de Cine", pero ahora en la caótica y asechada ciudad de Los Angeles; ese viaje para alcanzar la fama pareciera llegar a la meta cuando Maxine consigue un rol protagónico en un film que no es de las habituales películas en donde ella es la estrella, pero justamente ese logro vendrá con nuevos peligros lo cual le hará sentir miedo y la fuerza para enfrentarlos.

"MaXXXine", third and (it seems to be) last film of this horror franchise directed, written and edited by Ti West; this direct sequel to "X", we will see "Maxine Minx", who in the late 70's was the only survivor of the massacre in a Texas barn and now in the mid 80's, is still in the quest to become a "Movie Star", but now in the chaotic and haunted city of Los Angeles; This journey to fame seems to reach its goal when Maxine gets a starring role in a film that is not the usual movies where she is the star, but precisely this achievement will come with new dangers which will make her feel fear and the strength to face them.

Ti West nuevamente usa esta franquicia para realizar un nuevo homenaje al cine y para demostrar lo buen director que es, ya que este film en cinematografía supera a sus dos anteriores entregas; está película no tiene desperdicio en ninguna de sus tomas, todas son artísticas, coloridas, divertidas, gráficas, detallista, es mejor lo que se logró en "Pearl" y no hay duda que la dirección es de los puntos más altos del film.

La historia es posiblemente el punto intermedio en esta producción, puede hacer creer que es un mal o buen film y en lo personal, creo que es una correcta historia que respeta las reglas para un tercer film de una franquicia, reglas justamente dichas en "SCREAM 3", la cual es parte de una serie de las llamadas "Meta Films" que usan el cine para su influencia. En esta tercera parte, a pesar de existir elementos claves de un slasher, también encontramos elementos de un buen thriller, aunque es cierto de que el misterio en esta historia es muy predecible y pienso que posiblemente es de los puntos bajos de la película; aparte de todo eso, aprecio que el cine siga siendo influencia y más que nada, todo lo referente a ese lado oscuro del mundo del cine que convierte en pesadillas los sueños en quienes anhelan ser estrellas.

Ti West again uses this franchise to make a new tribute to cinema and to demonstrate how good a director he is, since this film in cinematography surpasses his two previous installments; this film has no waste in any of its shots, all are artistic, colorful, funny, graphic, detailed, it is better than what was achieved in "Pearl" and there is no doubt that the direction is one of the highest points of the film.

The story is possibly the middle ground in this production, it can make you believe that it is a bad or good film and personally, I think it is a correct story that respects the rules for a third film of a franchise, rules justly said in "SCREAM 3", which is part of a series of so-called "Meta Films" that use cinema for its influence. In this third part, although there are key elements of a slasher, we also find elements of a good thriller, although it is true that the mystery in this story is very predictable and I think it is possibly one of the low points of the film; apart from all that, I appreciate that cinema continues to be an influence and most of all, everything related to that dark side of the film world that turns dreams into nightmares for those who long to be stars.

Mia Goth es la dueña de la historia, me gustó esta versión de "Maxine" la cual es muy diferente a la vista en "X", ya que en el film que da origen a esta historia vemos a una joven mujer susurrar sus sueños y eso la lleva a estar dentro de un estado catatónico que la hace dependiente de las drogas y de los hombres que quieren manejarla; en esta nueva historia, Maxine es una mujer diferente que nunca ha olvidado sus sueños y que sabe que deberá hacer lo necesario para obtenerlos; Goth sabe muy bien expresar ese sentimiento de deseo, fuerza y a la vez descontrol a causa del miedo de perder todo, pero Maxine es un personaje diferente que no encaja en el de ser víctima, sino en una que está dispuesta en atacar primero.

Mia Goth is the owner of the story, I liked this version of "Maxine" which is very different from the one seen in "X", since in the film that gives rise to this story we see a young woman whispering her dreams and that leads her to be inside a catatonic state that makes her dependent on drugs and men who want to manage her; In this new story, Maxine is a different woman who has never forgotten her dreams and who knows that she must do whatever it takes to obtain them; Goth knows very well how to express that feeling of desire, strength and at the same time lack of control due to the fear of losing everything, but Maxine is a different character who does not fit in the role of a victim, but in one who is willing to attack first.

A pesar de que tanto el primer y segundo films son slashers puros y que tanto el asesino, como sus motivos son evidentes desde los primeros actos del film; creo que está tercer y última parte es más predecible que todas las demás; nuevamente creo que eso es lo que posiblemente sea la causa de que para muchos esté es el film más flojo de la franquicia, yo personalmente aunque piense que ese es el factor más influyente en las críticas negativas, pienso que el problema está en la nula existencia de personajes que compartan protagonismo con Mia, eso no existe, como si ocurrió en "X" y "Pearl" y es que supongo que tanto Goth como West compiten en demostrar quien es más importante en la franquicia y puede ser eso lo que reste relevancia a otros personajes, pero aparte de eso, me gustó mucho esta película, muy bien dirigida y protagonizada, con una excelente fotografía, ambientación y buen uso de la música, muy gráfica, divertida y correcta para la historia; es una lástima que se mantenga la idea de ser el final porque creo que hay más historias sobre el mundo del cine desde el punto de vista de MaXXXine.

Although both the first and second films are pure slashers and both the killer and his motives are evident from the first acts of the film; I think this third and final part is more predictable than all the others; again I think that this is possibly the reason why for many this is the weakest film of the franchise, I personally think that this is the most influential factor in the negative reviews, I think the problem lies in the lack of characters who share the limelight with Mia, that does not exist, as it happened in "X" and "Pearl" and I guess both Goth and West compete to prove who is more important in the franchise and that may be what detracts from the relevance of other characters, but apart from that, I really liked this movie, very well directed and starred, with excellent photography, setting and good use of music, very graphic, funny and right for the story; it's a pity that it keeps the idea of being the end because I think there are more stories about the world of cinema from the point of view of MaXXXine.
