¿Recuerdas tu época escolar? Tienes recuerdos agradables o prefieres eliminarlos de tu memoria, yo la recuerdo de forma placentera, pero también tengo imágenes mentales muy claras de momentos en los que tuve que defenderme para no ser víctima del acoso escolar o en los que me enfrente a los acosadores por defender a otra persona y lo hice para estar tranquila con mi conciencia y mis valores, no podía ignorar actos de injusticia.

En esa época las bromas pesadas eran aceptadas hasta cierto nivel, cuando ya no se podían tolerar con mostrar una posición contraria era suficiente y si el mensaje no llegaba claro, con un poco de violencia, por ejemplo un par de cachetadas o azar la voz era suficiente y eso bastaba para recuperar el respeto y listo, pero en la actualidad ese pequeño problema es exponencial con las redes sociales, incrementando el nivel de violencia de forma viral.

El Acoso Escolar es la causa principal de los suicidios de niños y adolescentes en todo el mundo, recientemente China decidió reformar sus leyes después de un caso que conmocionó a la opinión pública, en el año 2011 si no me equivoco y por la que surgió una novela titulada His Youth, In Her Beauty de Jiu Yuexi que sirvió de inspiración para realizar la película Better Days, nominada y galardonada a muchos premios, entre ellos al Óscar como la mejor película extranjera.

What may be a bad joke among a few is replicated to reach unsuspected figures. I firmly believe that the increase in bullying is related to technology and social media. The possibility of recording any altercation between fellow students and spreading it is the spark that is needed to keep the problem going, which for the morbid curiosity of young people is a diversion. It is normal for children and young people to have differences of opinion because it is the stage to learn to socialize, but abuse cannot be normalized.

Bullying is the main cause of child and adolescent suicides around the world, recently China decided to reform its laws after a case that shocked public opinion, in 2011 if I am not mistaken and for which a novel titulada His Youth, In Her Beauty de Jiu Yuexi emerged and served as inspiration to make the film Better Days, nominated and awarded many prizes, including the Oscar for best foreign film.

Después de esta larga introducción ya debes imaginar de qué se trata, Better Days cuenta la historia de una joven que al principio decidió ignorar el acoso que sufría una amiga y no la apoyó, hasta que esta se suicidó en el colegio y por mostrar compasión y tapar el cuerpo de aquella chica se convirtió en el nuevo blanco de los acosadores, esta joven era una excelente estudiante que tenía como meta cambiar su destino de pobreza por un futuro brillante, pero no contaba con los obstáculos que tenía que superar. 

Todos los años más de 9 millones de jóvenes en China presentan la prueba de aptitud académica como se le dice en mi país, esta es la que se presenta para optar a un cupo universitario, allá tiene una duración de dos días y lograr las mejores notas garantiza una vida mejor a futuro. 

Better Days tells the story of a young girl who at first decided to ignore the harassment suffered by a friend and did not support her, until she committed suicide at school and by showing compassion and covering the body of that girl became the new target of the bullies, this young girl was an excellent student whose goal was to change her destiny of poverty for a bright future, but she did not count on the obstacles she had to overcome.

Every year more than 9 million young people in China take the academic aptitude test as it is called in my country, this is the one that is presented to opt for a university place, there it lasts two days and achieving the best grades guarantees a better life in the future.

Better Days muestra todo lo que le hicieron a esta chica, por envidia, porque la veían enfocada en su meta, por ser de clase social baja y dentro de tanta violencia encontró un amigo que la protegió hasta cierto punto, este amigo es un muchacho que vive solo y pasa su tiempo en las calles, buscando la forma de sobrevivir, esta amistad inició justamente cuando ella caminaba por una calle y vio como lo estaban golpeando varios hombres, entonces ella llamó a la policía, pero la vieron los maleantes y la obligaron a besarlo y quedarse con él. Sin embargo, estos amigos no se pudieron alejar de las circunstancias fatales que trae el bullying, ocasionando un homicidio involuntario.

Better Days shows everything they did to this girl, out of envy, because they saw her focused on her goal, because she was from a low social class and within so much violence she found a friend who protected her to a certain extent, this friend is a boy who lives alone and spends his time on the streets, looking for a way to survive, this friendship began precisely when she was walking down a street and saw how several men were beating him, then she called the police, but the thugs saw her and forced her to kiss him and stay with him. However, these friends could not get away from the fatal circumstances that bullying brings, causing an involuntary homicide.

El mejor remedio para evitar el bullying es fortalecer la autoestima. No creo en la frase, si no eres víctima, eres victimario, se puede evitar este problema educando en valores. 

Esta película muestra una dura realidad con el problema del acoso. Algunas escenas son fuertes, pero necesarias. También está el otro lado de la moneda, al mostrar una verdadera amistad y los valores de constancia, esfuerzo y sacrificio para lograr las metas. 

The best remedy to avoid bullying is to strengthen self-esteem. I do not believe in the phrase, if you are not a victim, you are a victimizer, this problem can be avoided by educating in values.

This film shows a harsh reality with the problem of bullying. Some scenes are strong, but necessary. There is also the other side of the coin, showing true friendship and the values of perseverance, effort and sacrifice to achieve goals.

Las actuaciones no fueron tan buenas a mi parecer, aunque es la primera vez que veo tantas lágrimas en actores asiáticos, no los sentí tan metidos en el papel y, por más triste que era todo, no me hicieron llorar 😅. Hubo momentos en los que me perdí por escenas que fueron reemplazadas por otras abruptamente. Es larga, pero no aburre y, en términos generales, es buena, además de que está basada en hechos reales y por su causa se hicieron reformas educativas en prevención y seguridad.

Es difícil lo que están viviendo los niños con este problema y a veces es causado porque están solos, los padres están absorbidos por el sistema, buscando soluciones a la economía familiar y en tiempos libres distraídos también por las redes sociales. Esta película invita a la reflexión y la recomiendo para toda la familia.  

The performances were not so good in my opinion, although it's the first time I see so many tears in Asian actors, I didn't feel them so into the role and, as sad as everything was, they didn't make me cry 😅. There were moments when I got lost for scenes that were replaced by others abruptly. It's long, but it doesn't bore and, in general terms, it's good, plus it's based on real events and because of it, educational reforms in prevention and safety were made.

It is difficult what children are living with this problem and sometimes it is caused because they are alone, parents are absorbed by the system, looking for solutions to the family economy and in free time also distracted by social networks. This film is thought-provoking and I recommend it for the whole family.

Created many years ago (more precisely since 1980), Megalopolis is a movie written and directed by renowned filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. An extremely personal project, which he had wanted to do for many years, but for financial reasons (mainly) it had not yet been done. After many setbacks, Coppola himself decided to sell part of his winery to finance the movie, which was finally made and is ready to be released.

However, even before the project reaches commercial circuits, there are some controversies that are becoming a real headache for Coppola. Basically, what is happening is that reports are emerging that involve alleged misconduct by the filmmaker, ranging from possible sexual harassment (he allegedly pulled and tried to kiss some half-naked actresses who worked as extras) to reprehensible behavior among the cast.

Names like Shia LaBeouf and Adam Driver reportedly clashed with Coppola on the movie sets, creating a tense atmosphere that ended up being noticed by many people (who even, anonymously, reported to The Guardian what happened behind the scenes). Furthermore, Coppola decided to incorporate the spirit of old Hollywood directors, choosing to work with practical effects instead of digital technology (subjecting his cast to bad situations).

Darren Demetre (movie producer) defends Coppola against all the accusations, and says having known him for over 35 years, he doesn't believe what is being said (especially because he himself worked on the project). However, the fact is that all of this (whether true or not, because Coppola himself has not yet commented on any of this) hinders the future of the movie (especially when it comes to nominations for important movie awards, such as the Oscars).

Después de muchos contratiempos, el propio Coppola decidió vender parte de su bodega para financiar la película, que finalmente se realizó y está lista para ser estrenada.

Sin embargo, incluso antes de que el proyecto llegue a los circuitos comerciales, surgen algunas polémicas que se están convirtiendo en un auténtico dolor de cabeza para Coppola. Básicamente, lo que pasa es que están surgiendo denuncias que involucran supuestas malas conductas por parte del cineasta, que van desde un posible acoso sexual (supuestamente tiró e intentó besar a algunas actrices semidesnudas que trabajaban como extras) hasta conductas reprobables entre el elenco.

Hasta donde serias capaz de llegar por una obsesión, cuando te sientes atraído por alguien, y esa persona no te corresponde, que harías para llamar su atención, hasta donde llegarías, a que nivel te rebajarías,para responder estas preguntas, deben ver esta serie, quizás algunos lleguen a identificarse con ella.

Bebe Reno, is the name of this series, which was based on real events, in this story we will see how a woman, simple, humble, without much physical charisma, becomes obsessed with a man, by the simple fact that he had a kind gesture with her, as a result of this, she triggers such unhealthy obsession for him.

This series consists of 7 chapters, the truth is quite complex, a little crazy, and according to the real protagonist, the story is not as it was shown; but thinking and analyzing what we see in this series, as I mentioned, it is something uncontrolled, this woman, believes she owns this man, practically, wanting to have control of his life.

Bebe Reno, es el nombre de dicha serie, la cual fue basada en hechos reales, en esta historia veremos como una mujer, sencilla, humilde, sin mucho carisma físico, se obsesiona con un hombre, por el simple hecho de que él tuvo un gesto amable con ella, a raíz de esto, ella desencadena dicha obsesión enfermiza por él.

Esta serie consta de 7 capítulos, la verdad es bastante compleja, un poco loca, y según la verdadera protagonista, la historia no es tal cual como la mostraron; pero pensando y analizando lo que vemos en esta serie, como mencione, es algo descontrolado, esta mujer, se cree dueña de este hombre, prácticamente, queriendo tener el control de su vida.

It is undoubtedly a rather dark and disturbing story, which shows us the traumas of attachment, and, on the other hand, the risk we run when we take certain actions, when we want to achieve something, and become successful.

There are many things that are mixed, and it all depends on the point of view you see it, a few days ago was that I finished watching this series, and I was not sure to talk about it, but as I said, surely more than one feels identified in some way, especially the part, where you look for ways to get the attention of the person you like.

Pero veamos, se podría decir, que aquí el error lo cometió el hombre, debido a que todo comenzó cuando él se dejó llevar por la lástima que sintió al ver a esta mujer, y quiso tener un detalle con ella, mostrándole algo de afecto y un poco de empatía, sin embargo, él no sabía, que detrás de esta mujer triste y desequilibrada, había un oscuro pasado.

Sin duda es una historia bastante oscura, y perturbadora, donde nos muestra los traumas del apego, y, por otra parte, el riesgo, que corremos, al tomar ciertas acciones, cuando deseamos lograr algo, y llegar a tener éxito.

Son muchas cosas que se mezclan, y todo depende del punto de vista que lo veas, haces unos días fue que termine de ver esta serie, y no estaba segura de hablar de ella, pero como ya les dije, seguro más de uno se siente identificado de alguna forma, sobre todo la parte, en la que te buscas la manera de llamar la atención de la persona que te gusta.

After seeing positive reviews and needing to see something light, purely Hollywood commercial, I decided to see this romantic story starring Hathaway.

You would think I see few romantic movies, but I don't, I just have to really like them for me to recommend them. Such is the case with this movie. A few weeks ago Neruel published his post and on twitter he told me I was going to like it. And he was right. Now... I don't understand how he knew I was going to like it.

It's not original material. It's an adaptation of a novel written by Robinne Lee, who is also an actress. Of Lee I only remember her from small roles in a couple of movies with Will Smith, I don't think I've seen more of her work as an actress. Apparently, she seems to be successful as a writer as well and this novel has a following.

Después de leer opiniones positivas y con la necesidad de ver algo ligero, puramente comercial de Hollywood, decidí ver esta historia romántica protagonizada por Hathaway.

Pensaras que veo pocas películas románticas, pero no es así, sólo que me tienen que gustar mucho para que las recomiende. Tal es el caso de esta película. Hace unas semanas Neruel publicó su post y en twitter me dijo que me iba a gustar. Y tenía razón. Ahora... No entiendo cómo sabía que me iba a gustar.

No es material original. Es una adaptación de una novela escrita por Robinne Lee, que también es actriz. De Lee sólo la recuerdo por pequeños papeles en un par de películas con Will Smith, no creo haber visto más de su trabajo como actriz. Por lo visto, parece que también tiene éxito como escritora y esta novela tiene sus seguidores.

The age difference between two people who love each other and the moral judgments that this entails, especially if the one who doubles the age is the woman. Let's see, just as the old man has the right to fall in love with someone young, so do older women. Well, at least in fiction, because as beautiful as love is, that feeling of loving another person. It is something that can change and even more so when the age difference is so wide.

Very nice all, but this kind of relationship works for a while. A decade or fifteen years at most. Yes, sure there are isolated cases of people with a lot of age difference. They may be from decades past, with another kind of education and principles.

La diferencia de edad entre dos personas que se aman y los juicios morales que esto conlleva, sobre todo si la que dobla la edad es la mujer. Si añadimos que el joven es famoso, es una bomba de relojería para la sociedad que condena a través de las redes sociales a tener un festín de burlas, críticas y odio.

Cuando la sociedad ve a un hombre de 40 o 50 con una joven de 20-25 años, pueden hacer alguna broma sobre que es un Sugar Daddy y que la chica encontró a la que le solucionará el resto de su vida y le dará todos sus caprichos. Es algo normal, lo veo casi a diario y en países como el mío, parece que un alto porcentaje de mujeres jóvenes están en esa búsqueda de encontrar al príncipe con arrugas y mucho dinero.

Ahora bien, cuando ocurre lo contrario, las críticas y las burlas son más feroces. Si una mujer de cuarenta años quiere comerse un caramelo, se la juzga con más severidad. A ver, igual que el viejo tiene derecho a enamorarse de alguien joven, las mujeres mayores también. Bueno, al menos en la ficción, porque por muy bonito que sea el amor, ese sentimiento de querer a otra persona. Es algo que puede cambiar y más cuando la diferencia de edad es tan amplia.

Muy lindo todo , pero este tipo de relaciones funcionan durante un tiempo. Una década o quince años como máximo. Sí, seguro que hay casos aislados de personas con mucha diferencia de edad. Pueden ser de décadas pasadas, con otro tipo de educación y principios.

Este fue mi programa favorito cuando era niña, lo disfrute por muchos años incluso siendo adolescente y adulta porque era transmitido por el canal de televisión más popular de mi país en un horario donde todas las personas ya estaban en su hogar, los niños ya habían asistido a la escuela y los adultos regresaban del trabajo.

Se trata de un programa de humor que refleja la vida diaria de una comunidad, con personajes bien desarrollados y que al mirarlos seguro recordarás algún vecino o persona conocida, por los conflictos personales y sociales que tienen. Recordé este programa al leer una reseña de @namiks que decía que el humor de antes ya no se ve en las películas ni los programas de tv y que él valora mucho cuando se consigue algo así.

El humor es una característica cultural que define una nación, región o continente y que cambia con el tiempo. Se pueden encontrar diferencias en el sentido de humor entre naciones, pero el humor siempre será algo que te hará reír y olvidar el tiempo presente, eso es lo que me sucede cuando miro al Chavo del 8.

Este programa no es nuevo, salió casi una década antes de que yo naciera en el año de 1972 fue transmitido hasta 1983 en México país donde lo crearon, su éxito fue tan grande que lo exportaron a toda Sudamérica, siendo Venezuela mi país y transmitido para ser visto por varias generaciones, pero, ¿qué tan bueno era este programa para los niños y la familia?, ¿dejaba un mensaje positivo a la sociedad?, en este punto me extenderé al final primero conoceremos sus personajes.

This was my favourite programme when I was a child, I enjoyed it for many years even as a teenager and adult because it was broadcast on the most popular TV channel in my country at a time when everyone was already at home, the children had already gone to school and the adults were coming home from work.

It is a comedy programme that reflects the daily life of a community, with well-developed characters that you are sure to remember as you watch them, because of the personal and social conflicts they have. I was reminded of this programme when I read a review by @namiks who said that the humour of yesteryear is no longer seen in films or TV programmes and that he really appreciates it when he gets something like this.

Humour is a cultural characteristic that defines a nation, region or continent and changes over time. You can find differences in the sense of humour between nations, but humour will always be something that will make you laugh and forget the present time, that's what happens to me when I watch Chavo del 8.

This programme is not new, it came out almost a decade before I was born in 1972, it was transmitted until 1983 in Mexico, the country where it was created, its success was so great that it was exported to all of South America, Venezuela being my country and transmitted to be seen by several generations, but, how good was this programme for children and the family, did it leave a positive message to society, on this point I will expand at the end, first we will get to know its characters.

Personajes | Characters

El Chavo

Era un niño de 8 años, por eso su apodo de chavo que hace alusión en México a un niño o muchacho. Era huérfano y vivía en condición de calle, siempre tenía hambre y no poseía ni ropa ni un lugar para asearse, no sabía hablar bien ni expresar sus ideas. Vivía dentro de su barril, que es como un tambor de madera, igual a que se usa para añejar los licores donde se escondía y pasaba la noche. 

Se caracteriza por ser inocente y por meter en problemas a su vecino de vecindad, Don Ramón. Aunque no posee casa, padres ni alimentación, acude a la escuela. Es personificado por Roberto Gómez Bolaños, quien para ese entonces tenía más de 40 años, pero a los ojos de todos los que veían su programa era un niño de 8 años. 

Roberto Gómez Bolaños, aparte de ser el protagonista, fue el escritor y creador de varios personajes de este programa, su productor y más. Falleció hace pocos años.

Kico

Era otro niño de la vecindad, el típico niño engreído, mentiroso, envidioso, consentido por su mamá, que quería resaltar. Caracterizado por otro actor, Carlos Villagrán, que medía unos 1.80 cm y que su altura no le restó interpretar este personaje.

La Chilindrina

Es una de las niñas que jugaba con el chavo y kico, ella era la más tremenda del grupo, astuta e inteligente, siempre lograba lo que quería. Estaba enamorada del chavo, hija de don Ramón. Fue interpretada por María Antonieta de las Nieves y después de terminar el Chavo estuvo trabajando por muchos años con este personaje en presentaciones de teatro, circos y en cualquier lugar donde la invitaran.

Don Ramón

Era un señor que no le gustaba trabajar, pasaba el tiempo escondiéndose de su arrendador para no pagar el alquiler, también era maltratado por su vecina, la señora Florinda (mama de kico).

Doña Florinda 

Era una viuda, madre soltera, que vivía de la pensión de su difunto esposo. Ella estaba enamorada del profesor de su hijo. 

El profesor Jirafales 

Interpretado por Rubén Aguirre, el profesor Jirafales también era un hombre muy alto y el nombre de su personaje hace alusión, o así lo asocié yo, a la jirafa por su altura. Era un docente que intentaba mantener la calma y no perder la paciencia frente a sus alocados alumnos, romántico pretendiente de doña Florinda.

El Chavo

He was an 8 year old boy, hence his nickname chavo, which in Mexico refers to a child or boy. He was another kid from the neighbourhood, the typical conceited, lying, envious, spoiled by his mother, who wanted to stand out. He was played by another actor, Carlos Villagrán, who was about 1.80 cm tall and his height did not prevent him from playing this character.

The Chilindrina

One of the girls who played with Chavo and Kico, she was the most tremendous of the group, cunning and intelligent, she always got what she wanted. She was in love with Chavo, daughter of Don Ramón. She was played by María Antonieta de las Nieves and after the end of Chavo she worked for many years with this character in theatre performances, circuses and wherever she was invited.

Don Ramón

He was a man who didn't like to work, he spent his time hiding from his landlord to avoid paying the rent, he was also mistreated by his neighbour, Mrs. Florinda (Kico's mother).

Doña Florinda

She was a widow, a single mother, who lived on her late husband's pension. She was in love with her son's teacher.

Professor Jirafales

Played by Rubén Aguirre, Professor Jirafales was also a very tall man and his character's name alludes, or so I associated it, to the giraffe because of his height. He was a teacher who tried to remain calm and not lose his patience in front of his crazy students, a romantic suitor of Doña Florinda.

Reflexiones | Thoughts

Pudiera escribir sobre todos los personajes de este programa de televisión, tanto principales como secundarios, porque los vi por largos años, y aunque los capítulos eran de 30 minutos, la transmisión en mi país se podía extender de 1 a 2 horas de lunes a viernes. 

¿Era bueno este programa para los niños y la familia? 

Si el programa era visto por adultos, le permitía soltar el estrés y relajarse después del trabajo y, al final, en los créditos dejaban una pequeña semilla de reflexión sobre la sociedad. También durante el programa soltaban algunas frases como esta:

La venganza nunca es buena mata el alma y la envenena

Para los niños es verse reflejado en pantalla y mirar cómo es la vida de difícil para algunos niños como el chavo. Todo esto es bueno a simple vista, pero si lo analizamos más profundo, encontraremos que este programa no debió ser para niños, sino para adultos; entra en la misma categoría que algunas caricaturas famosas como los Simpson, con calificación mayor de 12 años. 

Mi argumento se basa en lo siguiente:

El chavo no tenía refugio ni en los días de lluvia, sus vecinos no se organizaban ni hacían nada para solventar su situación, ignoraban el sufrimiento de este niño. 

Don Ramón era un padre irresponsable que daba mal ejemplo a su hija y niños al esconderse y no pagar sus deudas, era flojo y mentiroso. 

Doña Florinda vivía de la apariencia y a escondidas mantenía un romance con el maestro de su hijo, que lo sacaba de su casa y le decía que fuera a jugar afuera para poder quedarse a solas con su enamorado.

El profesor Jirafales, fumaba en frente de sus alumnos, decía groserías y mostraba descontrol emocional frente a los niños.

Estas son algunas cosas que recuerdo sobre este programa, ¿Era bueno para los niños o malo? Saque usted sus propias conclusiones.

I could write about all the characters in this TV show, both main and secondary, because I watched them for many years, and although the episodes were 30 minutes long, the broadcast in my country could be extended from 1 to 2 hours from Monday to Friday.

Was this programme good for children and the family?

If the programme was watched by adults, it allowed them to let off stress and relax after work and, at the end, in the credits, they left a small seed of reflection on society. Also during the programme they would drop a few sentences like this one:

Revenge is never good, it kills the soul and poisons it.

For the children it is to see themselves reflected on the screen and to see how difficult life is for some children like El Chavo. This is all good at first glance, but if we look deeper, we find that this programme should not have been for children, but for adults; it falls into the same category as some famous cartoons like the Simpsons, rated 12 and over.

My argument is based on the following:

The chavo had no shelter even on rainy days, his neighbours did not organise or do anything to solve his situation, they ignored the suffering of this child.

¡Hola amigos! Hoy me pasó por acá para traerles la reseña de una nueva película estrenada hace poco en la plataforma de Netflix que es una comedia romántica, pero más enfocada al público maduro, ya que en este caso la protagonista cuyo título le da nombre a la película es La madre de la novia.

Hello friends! Today I stopped by to bring you the review of a new movie recently released on the Netflix platform which is a romantic comedy, but more focused on mature audiences, since in this case the protagonist whose title gives the movie its name is The Mother of the Bride.

Trama - Plot

Emma vuelve de su estadía en Londres para anunciarle a su madre, Lana, que se casará el próximo mes, un hecho que la impacta porque ni siquiera sabía que estaba de novia. No es solo eso, sino que siempre soñaron con planear su boda juntas, pero ahora Lana se encuentra con que su hija es una influencer que recibe canjes por mostrar en Instagram fotografías de los lugares que visita, así que ya tiene el lugar donde se va a realizar la boda y todo lo que implica pagado por las marcas. Para colmo, tras llegar al hotel y conocer al novio, se entera de que es el hijo de su gran amor de la Universidad con el que soñaba casarse pero un día la abandonó sin ningún tipo de explicación y le rompió el corazón en el proceso. Ahora Lana teme que a su hija le pase lo mismo y encima tiene que lidiar con aquel sentimiento que nunca pudo olvidar.

Emma returns from her stay in London to announce to her mother, Lana, that she is getting married next month, a fact that shocks her because she didn't even know she was engaged. Not only that, but they always dreamed of planning their wedding together, but now Lana finds that her daughter is an influencer who receives swaps for showing on Instagram pictures of the places she visits, so she already has the place where the wedding is going to take place and everything that implies paid by the brands. To top it all off, after arriving at the hotel and meeting the groom, she learns that he is the son of her great love from college whom she dreamed of marrying but one day he left her without any explanation and broke her heart in the process. Now Lana fears that the same thing will happen to her daughter and on top of that she has to deal with that feeling she could never forget.

Reseña - Review

Esta película llamó mi atención porque es común ver de protagonista de una boda a la novia o al novio, pero no a la madre, así que me dio mucha curiosidad y comencé a verla para saber con qué me iba a encontrar. Al principio no me convencía tanto, pero a medida que iba avanzando la trama me sorprendí estando atenta a la pantalla. Así que diría que tiene un enganche lento, pero funciona.

This movie caught my attention because it is common to see the bride or groom as the main character in a wedding, but not the mother, so I was very curious and started watching it to see what I was going to find. At first I wasn't so convinced, but as the plot progressed I surprised myself by being attentive to the screen. So I would say it has a slow hook, but it works.

Además, tiene como plus que me gusta el amor maduro y las segundas oportunidades, este es el trope ideal que define a esta comedia romántica. Nunca es tarde para que el amor entre a tu vida nuevamente y si es de la mano de uno antiguo mucho mejor. A veces hay cosas que se quedan en el tintero y es bueno darle un cierre o un comienzo, como les pasó a estos personajes.

Besides, it has as a plus that I like mature love and second chances, this is the ideal trope that defines this romantic comedy. It's never too late for love to enter your life again and if it's from the hand of an old one, so much the better. Sometimes there are things that get left behind and it is good to give them a closure or a beginning, as it happened to these characters.

Siendo sincera, hay situaciones y algunos detalles que la hacen un poco absurda, pero creo que esta es la esencia de muchas películas de este género y al final no me importo porque cumplió con su cometido de hacerme reír, tuvo una bonita historia de amor X2 y encima logró conmoverme hacía el final. Excelente servicio.

To be honest, there are situations and some details that make it a little absurd, but I think this is the essence of many films of this genre and in the end I did not mind because it fulfilled its mission of making me laugh, it had a nice love story X2 and on top of that it managed to move me towards the end. Excellent service.

Me encantó el enfoque que le dieron a la trama, las locaciones eran bellísimas, ya quisiera yo vacacionar en un lugar así, tan verde y paradisíaco. Me agradaron los personajes y sus actores, sobre todo la tía Janice creo que fue mi favorita. No es nada del otro mundo y no van a encontrar nada que no hayan visto antes, pero es ideal para pasar el rato.

I loved the approach they gave to the plot, the locations were beautiful, I wish I could vacation in a place like that, so green and paradisiacal. I liked the characters and the actors, especially Aunt Janice, I think she was my favorite. It's nothing fancy and you won't find anything you haven't seen before, but it's ideal to pass the time.

La verdad es que fue una agradable película la que vi, la disfruté bastante y les diría que la volvería a ver. Me copo mucho, así que está más que recomendada por mi parte.

The truth is that it was a nice movie that I saw, I enjoyed it a lot and I would say that I would see it again. I enjoyed it a lot, so it is more than recommended by me.

Tener un familiar desaparecido es algo muy doloroso para cualquier persona. No saber qué ocurrió, por qué desapareció, si está vivo o muerto o si necesita ayuda, son muchas las interrogantes que no dejarán vivir en paz. En el peor de los casos, aunque estuviera muerto sin el cuerpo, no se puede dar cierre a esa traumática experiencia. Esto es lo que vivieron dos padres cuando su único hijo desapareció camino a casa, sin el apoyo de la policía tuvieron que investigar por su cuenta par dar con los asesinos de su hijo, que después de desaparición mancharon su nombre al involucrarlo en un supuesto robo justificando la causa de su ausencia, lo único que justifica la difamación de un desaparecido es que el causante de esto, sea alguien de poder. 

Having a missing family member is a very painful experience for anyone. Not knowing what happened, why they disappeared, if they are alive or dead, or if they need help, are many questions that will not allow one to live in peace. In the worst case scenario, even if they were dead without the body, closure cannot be achieved for that traumatic experience. This is what two parents went through when their only son disappeared on his way home. Without the support of the police, they had to investigate on their own to find the killers of their son, who after the disappearance tainted his name by involving him in an alleged robbery to justify the cause of his absence. The only thing that justifies defaming a missing person is if the one causing this is someone with power.

Argumento | Plot

Inicie viendo desde Netflix la película titulada The invisible Guest, pero cuando busque información adicional para hacer esta reseña me entero de que en realidad la película que vi se llama en español Contratiempo, fue transmitida en el 2016 y protagonizada por el Mario Casas uno de mis actores favoritos españoles, y la que se llama actualmente The invisible Guest es un remake chino que salió en el año 2023. Es decir, que la película original tuvo alcance para que decidieran hacer una versión en otro idioma. 

Esta es una película de suspenso, crimen y e intriga que inicia con un hombre que despierta en una habitación de un hotel y a su lado está el cuerpo sin vida de su amante, por lo cual es el primer sospecho del homicidio, es un empresario reconocido que será llevado a juicio por esta muerte y para no ser hallado culpable, ya que no hay evidencia que otra persona estuvo allí, contrata los servicios de la mejor abogada preparadora de testigos, mientras preparan su intervención y narra los hechos van mostrando flashback de todas las historias paralelas, la muerte de esta mujer y la desaparición del joven que los padres buscaban encajando todas las piezas en una misma línea de tiempo.

Es una película que te mantiene en suspenso constante y que aumenta de forma progresiva, con giros inesperados que sorprenden de forma positiva aumentando la curiosidad y deseo de seguir viendo, no dejan cabos sueltos sin resolver y te da tiempo de entender todo lo que sucede, hace que el espectador sea parte de la investigación.

Es una producción con pocos personajes, pero todos bien desarrollados, las actuaciones de los protagonistas Mario Casas y Ana Wagener, destacan trasmitiendo emociones como ira, frustración, confusión, poder y manipulación. 

I started by watching the movie titled The Invisible Guest on Netflix, but when I looked for additional information to write this review, I found out that the movie I watched is actually called Contratiempo in Spanish. It was released in 2016 and starred Mario Casas, one of my favorite Spanish actors. The one currently called The Invisible Guest is a Chinese remake that came out in 2023. This means that the original movie had enough impact for them to decide to make a version in another language.

This is a suspenseful, crime, and intrigue movie that begins with a man waking up in a hotel room next to the lifeless body of his lover. He becomes the prime suspect in the murder investigation. He is a well-known businessman who is taken to court for this death. To avoid being found guilty, as there is no evidence of another person being there, he hires the services of the best witness preparer lawyer. As they prepare his defense and narrate the events, they show flashbacks of all the parallel stories, the death of the woman and the disappearance of the young man that the parents were looking for, fitting all the pieces together in the same timeline.

It's a movie that keeps you constantly in suspense and progressively raises the tension with unexpected twists that pleasantly surprise, increasing curiosity and the desire to keep watching. They don't leave loose ends unresolved and give you time to understand everything that happens, making the viewer part of the investigation.

It is a production with few characters, but all well-developed. The performances of the leads Mario Casas and Ana Wagener stand out, conveying emotions such as anger, frustration, confusion, power, and manipulation.

Reflexiones | Thoughts

Durante toda la película dan pequeños mensajes morales para concienciar a las personas, como por ejemplo no conducir mirando el celular o contestando mensajes de textos porque te puede costar la vida, que las mentiras al final terminan descubriéndose, la infidelidad no te hará más feliz ni es de astutos tener aventureras amorosas porque el engaño empieza en la misma persona que lo comete, que es perverso dañar la imagen de las personas porque causa dolor a los que lo aman, que el dinero no puede comprar una conciencia limpia ni mucho menos devolver la vida. Son infinidades de mensajes positivos que desde mi punto de vista observé que me parecen buenos y que dan más valor al film, ya que te entretiene, pero también sirve para sembrar una pequeña semilla a tu subconsciente de que lo mejor es actuar con la verdad que no perjudica a nadie. 

Me gusto y se las recomiendo, si ya la viste, ¿cuéntame que te pareció?

Throughout the movie, they deliver small moral messages to raise awareness among people, such as not driving while looking at your phone or texting because it can cost you your life, that lies eventually get uncovered, that infidelity won't make you happier, and it's not clever to have romantic adventures because deception starts with the person committing it. It is cruel to damage people's reputation because it causes pain to those who love them. Money can't buy a clear conscience, let alone bring back a life. There are countless positive messages that, from my point of view, seem good and add more value to the film, entertaining you while also planting a seed in your subconscious that it's better to act with truth that harms no one.

It seems that live-action productions based on video games have found themselves in TV series; I think the decision to bring those stories to the small screen works to have a better development of the themes that originate those games and of course their main characters; all that without forgetting the source material to which homage is paid with its numerous fanservice. I believe that what HBO did with "The Last of Us" shows the right path to follow and Amazon Prime Video, takes that example to create a fun, entertaining TV series, with a terrifying theme, based on a famous video game.

Parece que las producciones live-action basadas en videojuegos han encontrado en series para TV; creo que la decisión de llevar esas historias a la pantalla chica, funciona para tener un mejor desarrollo de los temas que originan dichos juegos y por supuesto a sus personajes protagonistas; todo eso sin olvidar al material de origen al cual se rinde homenaje con sus numerosos fanservice. Creo que lo hecho por HBO con "The Last of Us" enseña un camino adecuado a seguir y Amazon Prime Video, toma ese ejemplo para crear una serie de TV divertida, entretenida, con un tema terrorífico, basado en un famoso videojuego.

"Fallout" original production of Amazon Prime Video, based on a video game of the same name which tells the story of a world where the United States has fallen after a mega nuclear attack which forced a group of survivors to take refuge in bunkers called "Vaults"; After 200 years of that traffic event, in "Vault 33" a group of survivors live peacefully, growing as a community, preparing for the perfect moment to go up to the surface, but in the celebration of a special event for them, they are attacked by a group of looters taking weapons, supplements and hostage to the Supervisor of the vault, that makes his daughter, the sweet, innocent and very prepared "Lucy", take the decision to go after his father facing all danger and truth that offers the surface.

"Fallout" producción original de Amazon Prime Video, basado en un videojuego del mismo nombre el cual relata la historia de un mundo en dónde Los Estados Unidos ha caído después de una mega ataque nuclear lo cual obligó a un grupo de sobrevivientes refugiarse en búnkeres llamados "Vaults"; después de 200 años de ese tráfico acontecimiento, en "Vault 33" un grupo de sobrevivientes viven de manera pacífica, creciendo como comunidad, preparándose para el momento perfecto y así subir a la superficie, pero en la celebración de un acontecimiento especial para ellos, son atacados por un grupo de saqueadores tomando armas, suplementos y de rehén al Supervisor de dicha bóveda, eso hace que su hija, la dulce, inocente y muy preparada "Lucy", tome la decisión de ir tras su padre enfrentando todo peligro y verdad que ofrece la superficie.

Surely this will not be the last time I have to say that I have not played a minute of the game on which this (or any other) TV series is based; this statement can be considered as if I do not have the basis for a review on how faithful or not this production is to the original material, but I think in my case I can say that it is perfect to review what this series offers from the point of view of story development, production and other elements. "Fallout" is a pleasant surprise, a post-apocalyptic story, with a wonderful style to show two facets of a world that is preparing for an inevitable war and at the same time we see the ravages of a war that could not be avoided; mainly that I found fascinating because different moments are taught in a single story, all from the point of view of its protagonists, one will have more time than others to teach their past in order to understand a present that becomes terrifying and little hopeful. 

The production is great, the details in each scenography is perfect, from the beginning of this story in the vault, until the moment when one of its protagonists ascends to the surface giving introduction to what is known as "The Wasteland", a desolate world, chaotic, lawless, without future; every moment in that place is perfect for this dystopian story, but what I enjoyed the most was the world before the bombs fall, the one that shows us cities, homes with a lot of influence of the 50's despite the current year is 2077; the costume design, locations and music of those scenes seemed perfect to me, it shows a certain elegance, but also becomes a symbol of a very old time with necessary changes or revolutions, something that is also important in this series.

Seguramente esta no será la última vez que deba decir que no he jugado ni un minuto del juego el cual es basada esta (u otra) serie de TV; está afirmación puede ser considerada como si no tengo la base para realizar una crítica sobre que tan fiel o no es esta producción del material original, pero creo que en mi caso puedo decir que es perfecto para hacer reseña de lo que ofrece está serie desde punto de vista de desarrollo de historia, de producción y demás elementos. "Fallout" es una grata sorpresa, una historia postapocalíptica, con un estilo maravilloso para mostrar dos facetas de un mundo que se prepara para una inevitable guerra y a la vez vemos los estragos de una guerra que no pudo ser evitada; principalmente eso me pareció fascinante porque se enseña diferentes momentos en una sola historia, todo desde el punto de vista de sus protagonistas, uno tendrá más tiempo que otros para enseñar su pasado para así entender un presente que se hace terrorífico y poco esperanzador. 

La producción es genial, los detalles en cada escenografía es perfecta, desde el comienzo de esta historia en la bóveda, hasta el momento en que una de sus protagonistas asciende a la superficie dando introducción a lo que se conoce como "The Wasteland", un mundo desolado, caótico, sin ley, sin futuro; cada momento en ese lugar es perfecto para esta historia distópica, pero lo que más disfruté fue el mundo antes de la caída de las bombas, ese que nos muestra ciudades, hogares con mucha influencia de los años 50' a pesar de que el año en curso sea el 2077; el diseño de vestuario, localidades y la música de esas escenas me pareció perfecto, demuestra cierta elegancia, pero también se convierte en un símbolo de una época muy antigua con necesarios cambios o revoluciones, algo que también es importante en esta serie.

The three main characters are formidable, first of all I will refer to "Maximus" played by Aaron Moten; I like his character because he is someone who does not know his position in the world, he believes he has a mission or motivation to be a knight of the "Brotherhood of Steel", possibly that makes him feel like a hero, a protector or an avenger for all that he has lived, but I think that disconnection with the world or that need to belong to something has a backstory that will surely be developed in the following seasons; the other character, great character, is "Lucy MacLean" played by the talented Ella Purnell; possibly the most predictable character of this series, her development is slow, but in the end it seems that it is notorious the direction she should take in this story and that doesn't make her a bad character, she is one more victim and I know she will be very important for the story; finally I must talk about "The Ghoul" played by Walton Goggins; the most interesting character of the season, since this story is told mostly from his point of view, his memories or memories are what opens all panorama to have full notion of what happened and what happens at that moment, the performance of Goggins is excellent.

Los tres protagonistas son formidables, primeramente haré referencia a "Maximus" interpretado por Aaron Moten; su personaje me gusta porque es alguien que no sabe su posición en ese mundo, cree que tiene una misión o motivación de ser un caballero del "Brotherhood of Steel", que posiblemente eso le haga sentir ser un héroe, un protector o un vengador por todo lo que ha vivido, pero creo que esa desconexión con el mundo o esa necesidad de pertenecer a algo tenga una historia de fondo que seguramente será desarrollado en las siguientes temporadas; el otro personaje, gran personaje, es el de "Lucy MacLean" interpretado por la talentosa Ella Purnell; posiblemente el personaje más predecible de esta serie, su desarrollo es lento, pero al final parece que es notorio el rumbo que debe tomar en esta historia y justamente eso no la hace mal personaje, es una víctima más y sé que será muy importante para el relato de la historia; para finalizar debo hablar de "The Ghoul" interpretado por Walton Goggins; el personaje más interesante de la temporada, ya que esta historia está relatada en su mayoría desde su punto de vista, sus recuerdos o memorias son lo que abre todo panorama para tener plena noción de lo que sucedió y lo que sucede en ese instante, la actuación de Goggins es excelente.

The first season of Fallout is very good, I had expectations in the visuals, more than in the story because I had no knowledge of anything about the video game, but in the end I was trapped by the whole story of how a war without any knowledge of who attacked first, affected a large number of people and where what remains are fractions that seem to have as a motive in life the obtaining of power and control over everything, something that may sound silly, but is what we can observe daily in what happens in the real world; this shows the great work in all the people involved in this project because they take what makes the video game notorious and reflect it in a story that makes use of issues such as war, the havoc it leaves, the traumas, but also the use of power, either with weapons or the use of information, propaganda; I was really fascinated with the eight episodes, they have a good use of action, drama, fanservice and comedy; 100% recommended.

La primera temporada de Fallout es muy buena, tenía expectativas en lo visual, más que en la historia porque no tenía conocimiento de nada sobre el videojuego, pero al final quedé atrapado por todo el relato de como una guerra sin ningún conocimiento de quien atacó primero, afectó a un gran número de personas y en dónde lo que queda son fracciones que parece tener como motivo en la vida la obtención del poder y el control sobre todo, algo que puede sonar tonto, pero es lo que podemos observar a diario en lo que sucede en el mundo real; esto demuestra el gran trabajo en todas las personas que están envueltas en este proyecto porque toman lo que hace notorio al videojuego y lo reflejan en una historia que hace uso de temas como la guerra, los estragos que deja, los traumas, pero también el uso del poder, sea con armas o el uso de la información, la propaganda; realmente quedé fascinado con los ocho episodios, tienen un buen uso de la acción, drama, fanservice y la comedia; recomendada en un 100%.
