   Hola hive, hoy les vengo a hablar de una película con la que me topé ayer y quede totalmente sorprendido porque era algo que no me esperaba, siento que es una película que todos deberíamos de ver y por eso es que hoy les vengo a hablar de Chef

   Chef (o Chef a domicilio como se le conoce en latinoamerica) es una película de comedia con un poco de drama que fue lanzada en el 2014, dirigida y protagonizada por Jon Favreau, también en su elenco podemos ver a actores bastante reconocidos como: Sofía Vergara, Scarlett Johanson, Robert Downey Jr, etc…

   Cabe destacar que vi esta película por recomendación de mi hermano y aunque me llamaba bastante la atención siempre la posponía y decía que mejor la veía después, ayer al estar aburrido en mi casa me acordé y quise aprovechar para verla y vaya que me sorprendió, además de que la vi sin ningún tipo de información, sabía que era dirigida y protagonizada por Jon Favreau pero nada más, pero me gustó verla así sin ningún tipo de información porque no tenía ningúna expectativa y solo me deje llevar por la experiencia, así que ya dicho esto, comencemos!

   Primero quiero empezar resaltando lo que más me gustó de la película y es que lo sorprendente de esta película es que lo más genial de todo es la sencillez de la misma, la trama es bastante “simple” pero sólido y entretenida, además de que por todo esto la película se sienta muy real, no nos muestra nada ilógico o irreal, todo llega a ser muy creíble y a la vez esto es lo que hace que empatizamos tanto con cada personaje y con la historia en sí.

   Chef tiene un mensaje de superación bastante Bueno, nos muestra como nuestro protagonista actúa de forma impulsiva y esto le mete en situaciones no muy favorables para el, pero no se queda estancado y busca darle la vuelta a su situación, se reinventa como chef y me empieza a ver el lado bueno a una “desgracia” para salir adelante.

   Algo que me pareció muy curioso e interesante es en el momento donde a nuestro protagonista no lo dejan hacer su arte y lo obligan a hacer lo que supuestamente funciona. Por que digo que me encanto esta escena? Porque es un debate que siempre se ha tenido y que se puede llevar a cualquier ámbito (específicamente a cualquier ámbito), por ejemplo en el caso de la música hay veces que notamos que artistas deciden irse por el camino seguro y no arriesgan, pero al final esto termina hundiéndolos aún más.

   El elenco de esta película es espectacular, todos son excelentes y hacen unas actuaciones bastante buenas (y no se podría esperar menos de esta cast), asi Que por este lado no tengo ninguna queja al respecto. Por cierto También me encanto el soundtrack de esta película, acompaña perfectamente cada escena y aunque no parezca si es algo que suma mucho.

   Chef es una película bastante buena pero tranquila, que quiero decir con esto? Que es una película bastante suave y excelente para pasar el rato, en lo personal fue lo que más me encanto, sin embargo si estás buscando algo de acción o una película así un poco más movida aquí no lo vas a encontrar, con esto no quiero decir que es mala, al contrario me parece extremadamente buena y digerible para cualquier persona pero siempre me gusta dejar claro estos pequeños detalles.

   En conclusión como ya dije me parece una gran película y me sorprendió gratamente, la honestidad de la película es increíble, cada situación es una escena que podría pasar perfectamente en la vida real y siento que absolutamente cualquier persona se puede sentir identificado y llevar esta situación a cualquier entorno laboral, al final siento que este era el objetivo de la película y Jon Favreau lo logro perfectamente.

   Hi hive, today I come to talk about a movie that I came across yesterday and I was totally surprised because it was something I did not expect, I feel it is a movie that everyone should see and that is why today I come to talk about Chef.

   Chef is a comedy movie with a bit of drama that was released in 2014, directed and starred by Jon Favreau, also in its cast we can see quite recognized actors such as: Sofia Vergara, Scarlett Johanson, Robert Downey Jr, etc....

   It should be noted that I saw this movie on the recommendation of my brother and although it called my attention I always postponed it and said I'd better see it later, yesterday being bored at home I remembered and wanted to take the opportunity to see it and boy was I surprised, plus I saw it without any information, I knew it was directed and starred by Jon Favreau but nothing else, but I liked seeing it without any information because I had no expectations and just let me go by the experience, so having said that, let's start!

   First I want to start by highlighting what I liked the most about the movie and that is that the most amazing thing about this movie is that the coolest thing about it is the simplicity of it, the plot is quite "simple" but solid and entertaining, plus because of all this the movie feels very real, it doesn't show us anything illogical or unreal, everything becomes very believable and at the same time this is what makes us empathize so much with each character and with the story itself.

   Chef has a message of overcoming quite good, it shows us how our protagonist acts impulsively and this gets him into situations that are not very favorable for him, but he does not remain stagnant and seeks to turn his situation around, he reinvents himself as a chef and begins to see the good side of a "misfortune" to get ahead.

   Something that I found very curious and interesting is the moment where our protagonist is not allowed to do his art and is forced to do what supposedly works. Why do I say I loved this scene? Because it is a debate that has always been had and that can be taken to any field (specifically to any field), for example in the case of music there are times when we notice that artists decide to go the safe way and do not take risks, but in the end this ends up sinking them even more.

   The cast of this movie is spectacular, all of them are excellent and give great performances (and you couldn't expect less from this cast), so I have no complaints about that. By the way I also loved the soundtrack of this movie, it accompanies every scene perfectly and even if it doesn't seem like it is something that adds a lot.

   Chef is a pretty good but quiet movie, what do I mean by this? That it is a pretty soft and excellent movie to pass the time, personally it was what I loved the most, however if you are looking for some action or a movie a little more moved here you will not find it, with this I do not mean that it is bad, on the contrary I find it extremely good and digestible for anyone but I always like to make clear these small details.

   In conclusion as I said I think it is a great movie and I was pleasantly surprised, the honesty of the film is incredible, each situation is a scene that could happen perfectly in real life and I feel that absolutely anyone can feel identified and take this situation to any work environment, in the end I feel that this was the goal of the film and Jon Favreau achieved it perfectly.

   Before starting I want to clarify that a few months ago I had already written a Chef review where I approached it from a more conventional point of view, this does not mean that I am trying to go around the same content, rather the opposite, I feel that there are points that I leave out that are just as interesting and explain why I am so passionate about this movie.

   To speak of Chef is to speak of an irreverent film, not because it is lost in vulgarities or absurd pretensions but because it confronts its own nature with a cynicism that can be shocking for the most difficult viewers to move.

   

   With an almost imperceptible conflict, Jon Favreu's film stands as an intimate and fun product that perfectly captures the love of food and how it can be so closely linked with the beings that matter to us.

   From minute one we find a parade of good music and frenzy, which far from overwhelming transmits the essence of a chef's life, connects us with his love for food.

   

   In a fairly simple premise, we follow the life of the chef of a luxurious restaurant, who seems to enjoy what he does a lot but is limited by his boss, after a bad review as a result of these limitations, Carl Casper decides to leave everything behind and start with a food truck with his best friend and his daughter cruising all over America and cooking the things he really enjoys.

   Chef is not only a very light and fun film, but it puts aside any kind of elitism when talking about the dishes it presents, feels comfortable breaking the rules and totally plays with our notions of what food should be.

   

   The Miami atmosphere that takes a good portion of the film is mixed with Cuban elements, becoming a solid cultural piece that is born out of love and respect.

   It helps that Favreau brought a good amount of friends to participate in the film, we have primary and secondary roles of actors of the stature of Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr and Sofia Vergara, they all parade in chef and seem to be having the best time of their lives.

   

   I like when movies achieve a feeling of comfort so great that their own existence can be extended to a loop without any problem, as many of you will know I am not a person who enjoys revisiting movies precisely ... but Chef is a pleasure that does not cease to be at no time, from its first minutes to the end, does it give you things to enjoy, it moves you, excites you and makes you hungry.

   Antes de empezar quiero aclarar que hace unos meses ya había escrito un review de Chef en donde la abordaba desde un punto de vista más convencional, esto no significa que yo esté tratando de dar vueltas sobre el mismo contenido, más bien todo lo contrario, siento que existen puntos que deje por fuera que resultan igual de interesantes y explican por qué me apasiona tanto esta película.

   Hablar de Chef es hablar de una película irreverente, no porque se pierda en vulgaridades o pretensiones absurdas sino porque afronta su propia naturaleza con un cinismo que puede llegar a ser chocante para los espectadores más difíciles de conmover.

   

   Con un conflicto casi imperceptible, el filme de Jon Favreu se erige como un producto íntimo y divertido que logra capturar a la perfección el amor por la comida y como puede vincularse de forma tan estrecha con los seres que nos importan.

   Desde el minuto uno nos encontramos con un desfile de buena música y frenetismo, que lejos de abrumar transmite la esencia de la vida de un chef, nos conecta con su amor por la comida.

   

   En una premisa bastante simple, seguimos la vida del cocinero de un lujoso restaurant, quien parece disfrutar bastante lo que hace pero se encuentra limitado por su jefe, luego de una mala crítica consecuencia de dichas limitaciones Carl Casper decide dejar todo atrás e iniciar con un food truck con su mejor amigo y su hija paseando por todo Estados Unidos y cocinando las cosas que realmente disfruta.

   Chef no solo resulta una cinta muy ligera y divertida, sino que deja de lado cualquier clase de elitismo al momento de hablar sobre los platos que presenta, se siente cómoda rompiendo las reglas y juega totalmente con nuestras nociones de qué debe ser la comida.

   

   El ambiente de Miami que toma una buena porción del film se mezcla con elementos cubanos, convirtiéndose en una sólida pieza cultural que nace del amor y el respeto.

   Contribuye que Favreau trajera a una buena cantidad de amigos a participar en la película, tenemos roles primarios y secundarios de actores de la talla de Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr y Sofia Vergara, todos desfilan en chef y parecen estar teniendo el mejor tiempo de sus vidas.

   

   Me gusta cuando las películas logran una sensación de confort tan grande que su propia existencia puede extenderse a un loop sin ningún problema, como muchos de ustedes sabrán no soy una persona que disfrute revisitar películas precisamente… pero Chef es un placer que no deja de ser en ningún momento, desde sus primeros minutos hasta el final te da cosas que disfrutar, te conmueve, te emociona y te da hambre.

   Although my main fixation has always been for dense dramas in the cinema, the feeling I have when watching a carefree film is indescribable, a film which does not worry so much about the conflict instead of enjoying the trip. Not everything can be built in a stressful way, not everything should have you in tension.

   Chef is the perfect movie for this: the story of a chef from a restaurant acclaimed by critics and the public who after a terrible review decides to start his own food truck of Cuban sandwiches all over the United States.

   Chef is a mix of many things that I adore: comedy, music, food, and good dialogue. It may not be a masterpiece or has an incredible direction, but it is a good way to immerse yourself in a fun story with characters who love food.

   It is not a David Fincher police thriller or a Scorsese mob film, it does not seek intricate science fiction like Christopher Nolan or be visually magnetic like Kubrick. Favreau just wants to eat and have fun, and he invited us on that trip.

   

   Aunque desde siempre mi fijación principal ha sido por los dramas densos en el cine, es indescriptible la sensación que tengo al ver una película despreocupada, que no se preocupa tanto por el conflicto sino porque disfrutemos el viaje. No todo puede construirse de forma estresante, no todo debe tenerte en tensión.

   Chef es una mezcla de muchas cosas que adoro: comedia, música, comida y buenos diálogos. Quizá no sea una obra maestra ni cuente con una dirección increíble, pero es una buena forma de sumergirse en una historia divertida con personajes que aman la comida.

   Chef rompe las convenciones de la comida más conservadora, la idea de crear reglas alrededor de la gastronomía que nadie debería seguir si no quiere.

   Con aires de cine independiente Chef tiene una naturaleza íntima, no tiene ánimos de hacerte sentir mal ni de juzgarte... es un paseo despreocupado, bonito, emocionante. Te enseña sobre familia con una familia que se siente organiza, que existe durante la poca duración del film, todos son parte de un mecanismo que entiendes.

   La recomiendo totalmente, es un film que nunca me falla cuando me siento desanimado, por medio de comida te enseña a amar, a apreciar los pequeños momentos de la vida.

   No es un thriller policial de David Fincher ni un mob film de Scorsese, no busca ciencia ficción intrincada como Christopher Nolan ni ser visualmente magnética como Kubrick. Favreau solo busca comer y divertirse, y nos invitó a ese viaje.

   I am normally pretty excited when a movie about high-end cooking comes out. This is the same reason why I will watch the Food Network knowing damn well that there is no way I am going to be able to cook those things. I do not have the tools, access to materials, or well, skill to do a vast majority of what is on there. I do, however, sincerely admire the people that do posses this ability and that is why I enjoy watching it. I don't know if Jon Favreau is actually a good cook or not, i presume he is a to a certain degree.

   

   I mean, he would have to be at least somewhat adept at culinary skills because he wrote, directed, co-produced, and starred in this movie. You can't exactly do that without some level of knowledge.

   The story follows Carl Casper (Favreau,) the head chef at a popular and high-end restaurant in California. While incredibly good at his craft and effortlessly commanding the respect of the kitchen staff, he continually butts heads with the owner, who is ultimately in charge of what goes on there. After designing and innovative menu in preparation for the arrival of a food critic, the owner decides to scrap the new menu and stick to "the classics" at the last minute. This results in a poor review of the restaurant and by extension Carl Casper.

   Thus begins a string of events that eventually result in Carl confronting the food critic publically, which ends up being recorded and going viral, thus destroying his legacy,

   

   Without revealing too much of the story let's just say he decides to go back to his roots in Miami and ends up reconnecting with his son (Casper and the boy's mother are divorced,) and also returning to much simpler food preparation with the help of his son and one of the other assistant chefs from his old restaurant named Martin played by John Leguizamo.)

   

   It is a heartwarming tale of falling and picking yourself back up again and that is all fine and dandy. The real appeal to me was simply watching the preparation of various dishes. Warning: Do not watch this movie unless you are already painfully full. Watching this movie while even a bit peckish is simply torturous.

   I don't remember who said it but one particular critic called this film "food porn." It made more than $30 million profit. not too shabby eh?
