The author’s last published novel in the series had grown so unwieldy in scope that it was divided into two concurrent volumes: A Feast for Crows, focusing on King’s Landing and the war-torn Seven Kingdoms, and A Dance with Dragons, looking outwards to Essos and the Wall. Iwan Rheon’s performance here is exemplary, his smile never reaching his eyes as he processes this threat to his inheritance. Cogman’s script sharpens the Boltons’ grotesque dynamic by altering Roose’s backstory: he casually mentions raping miller’s wife who later conceived Ramsay, discarding the book’s reference to the ‘First Night’—a dubious medieval custom rightly dismissed by modern historians—for a act of unambiguous, personal violence that better defines the family’s inherent brutality.

Across the Narrow Sea, in Meereen, Daenerys Targaryen is undergoing her own traumatic transition from liberator to ruler. The episode confirms the death of Ser Barristan Selmy, a significant departure from the books that removes a key figure of Westerosi honour from her court. In his absence, the martial counsel comes from Daario Naharis, who presents two brutally simple options for dealing with the Sons of the Harpy: a street-by-street purge or the execution of the Great Masters’ leadership. Daenerys, in a moment of terrifying, Targaryen-style justice, chooses a third path. She has the captured masters dragged to the dragon catacombs, where she sacrifices one to her dragons Rhaegal and Viserion—a stark message of fire and blood. This act of terror, however, leads her to a surprising reversal. Confronted by Hizdahr zo Loraq, who remains a voice for peace despite being imprisoned, she not only agrees to reopen the fighting pits but also consents to marry him as her prince consort. The episode’s most unequivocal success lies in its breathtaking excursion to Old Valyria. As Jorah Mormont, transporting his captive Tyrion Lannister to Daenerys, chooses the perilous shortcut through the Smoking Sea, the show delivers one of its most visually arresting sequences. Director Jeremy Podeswa and production designer Gemma Jackson render the ruins of the ancient Valyrian Freehold—a civilisation clearly modelled on the Roman Empire, fused with inspirations from Angkor Wat—with awe-inspiring grandeur. Overgrown with jungle yet still radiating lost majesty, the landscape is a potent symbol of fallen empires, a theme central to the entire series. The scene is elevated further by the literate dialogue; both Tyrion and Jorah quote poetry about the Doom, their shared wonder bridging their captor-captive dynamic. This reverie is shattered by an attack from the Stonemen, victims of the lethal Greyscale disease. The attack, a significant deviation from the books (where it occurs in a different locale, the Sorrows, with a different companion for Tyrion), is thrillingly executed. Its consequence is profound: Jorah is infected, a ticking clock introduced onto his mission with a mere glimpse of scales on his wrist. This sequence works precisely because it understands the power of Martin’s world-building—the sense of deep history and cosmic melancholy—and translates it into pure, compelling television spectacle.

Podeswa’s direction throughout is competent, embodying the polished, cinematic style expected of HBO drama. He handles the requisite adult content with a workmanlike efficiency, as evidenced in the scene where Ramsay and Myranda discuss his impending marriage. Both Rheon and Hope appear naked, their conversation a twisted negotiation of power and possession that leads to sex, a moment that feels more contractual than erotic, included because the network’s brand demanded it. Where Podeswa truly excels is in compensating for the more pedestrian elements of the script, such as the plodding Castle Black politics, with the majestic visual storytelling of the Valyria sequence.

Kill the Boy is an episode defined by the difficult labour of its writer, Bryan Cogman, often described as the series’ ‘bible keeper’. His task here was unenviable: to reconcile Martin’s extant material with drastic new plot developments—Barristan’s death, Sansa in Winterfell, Tyrion’s accelerated journey with Jorah—for which there is no literary blueprint. Not all these interventions were worthless; the invention of Myranda adds a potent layer of petty, personal malice to the Bolton horror show. Yet, one feels the strain of compression. Hello fellow anime fans,

So I just started Classroom of the Elite and I’m currently on Season 1… and let me just say, this is not the kind of school anime I thought it would be at all.

At first, I went into it thinking okay, normal high school vibes, maybe some smart students, maybe a little competition here and there… but nah this one is deeper than that, this school is not just about reading books and passing exams, it is literally like survival of the smartest.

So the story is set in this elite school where students are placed into different classes from A to D, with A being the best and D beiing well, the problem children kind of class, and of course, our main characters end up in Class D, but the twist is, this school gives students points every month like money, and how you behave determines if you keep getting those points or not.

Sounds simple right? It’s not.

Because one small mistake, and your whole class suffers.

Now let’s talk about the main guy, Kiyotaka Ayanokoji, this guy ehn… I don’t even know how to explain him properly, at first, he just looks like one quiet boy that does not like stress. Always at the back, minding his business, not trying to shine, but as the episodes go on, you start noticing something is off, like he knows way more than he is showing.

And that is when it starts getting interesting.

Because while everyone is trying to survive school normally, Ayanokoji is out here lowkey controlling situations without people even realizing it, No noise, no drama, just calm calculations, It’s actually scary how he thinks

Then there’s Suzune Horikita, She’s very serious, doesn’t like unnecessary friendship, and just wants to climb to Class A by all means, At first, she comes off as cold, but as the story moves, you start to understand her a bit more, she is trying, but she is also learning that she can’t do everything alone, One thing I really like about this anime is how it plays with people’s minds, like, it is not about fighting or superpowers, it is about strategy, manipulation, and reading people, you will see characters smiling with you, but deep down, they are planning something else entirely.

And don’t even let me start with Kikyo Kushida… that one? Just be watching her carefully, that is all I will say

Season 1 especially focuses on introducing the system of the school and how unfair it can be, there are tests that don’t even feel like normal tests, situations where trust is tested, and moments where you are like wait, what just happened?

And the best part? You can not always predict the outcome.

There were a few times I thought I understood what was going on, then boom, plot twist, especially towards the end of the season, that last part really shows you that Ayanokoji is not just some random quiet guy.

At all.

If I am being honest, I have not even finished the whole series yet, but Season 1 alone has already pulled me in, It is the kind of anime that makes you think, observe, and even question people’s intentions in real life sef

So yeah, if you are looking for something different from the usual action anime, something more psychological and smart, this one is definitely worth watching.

And me? I’m not stopping here o, I need to see what this Ayanokoji guy is really about

The path taken by Game of Thrones in its fifth season, which began to significantly diverge the series’ plots from George R. R. Martin’s as-yet-unfinished literary source material, started to exert a palpable strain on the show’s internal logic and character integrity. While earlier seasons had taken liberties for the sake of adaptation, Season 5 marked a more aggressive restructuring, condensing and redirecting narratives to service a television finale Martin himself had not yet written. This shift began to affect even the fates of core characters, with some meeting ends very different from those suggested by the published novels. Sons of the Harpy (S5E04), a superficially solid piece of television, is a crucial inflection point where this new trajectory first draws significant blood, sacrificing a beloved character not for profound narrative necessity, but for a somewhat contrived thematic shorthand. The episode thus functions as a harbinger of the creative compromises that would later define the series’ contentious final chapters.

The episode’s primary dramatic weight lies in the political coup unfolding in King’s Landing—another quiet, ruthless realignment. The plot here is a meticulous chess game, moving pieces with cold efficiency. Cersei Lannister, increasingly isolated after her father’s death and her children’s alienation, makes her most audacious power play. By urging the pious but weak King Tommen to appoint the radical High Sparrow as the new High Septon, she forges an alliance with the grassroots fanaticism of the Faith. Her next move is breathtaking in its historical recklessness: convincing Tommen to restore the Faith Militant, a military order disbanded two centuries prior. Almost overnight, a small army of zealots begins purging the capital. Their targets—taverns, foreign idol vendors, and Littlefinger’s brothels—are symbolic, but their ire is particularly reserved for ‘sinners’ engaged in homosexual acts. This campaign culminates in the very public arrest of Ser Loras Tyrell, whose sexuality was the worst-kept secret in the city. Margaery’s furious demands for his release fall on the ears of a paralysed boy-king; Tommen’s desire to avoid conflict renders him useless, a pawn in his mother’s game. Simultaneously, Cersei deftly removes another Tyrell obstacle by dispatching Mace Tyrell to Braavos for ‘debt negotiations’ with the Iron Bank. In a single episode, Cersei dismantles her primary rival house with chilling precision, replacing the complex feudal politics of the novels with a swifter, more televisually direct seizure of power.

Meanwhile, the narrative expands geographically, dedicating considerable time to the new frontier of Dorne. While not the first episode set in the southern kingdom, Sons of the Harpy is the first to feature Dorne on the animated map of the opening credits, formally welcoming viewers to this new arena. The plot here, however, feels notably thinner. Jaime Lannister, accompanied by the ever-cynical Bronn, arrives on a covert mission to retrieve his daughter Myrcella from the Water Gardens. Their initial skirmish with a Dornish patrol offers a competent, if unremarkable, action beat, showcasing Jaime’s struggling swordsmanship with his left hand. Parallel to this, Ellaria Sand recruits Oberyn Martell’s bastard daughters, the Sand Snakes—Obara (Keisha Castle-Hughes), Nymeria (Jessica Hanwick), and Tyene (Rosabell Laurenti Sellers)—in a plot to murder Myrcella before she can be taken. The setup is functional, but it already hints at the simplified, almost pantomime portrayal of Dornish politics that would plague this storyline, reducing the nuanced scheming of Prince Doran and his court to a straightforward revenge quest.

In the North, the tone is one of grim foreshadowing. Sansa Stark’s arrival at Winterfell is punctuated by a visit to the family crypts, where she is met by Petyr Baelish. Their conversation weaves family history with cold political calculus. Littlefinger, soon to depart for the capital, analyses Stannis Baratheon’s impending campaign against the Boltons. He posits that whether Stannis wins or loses, Sansa, positioned as a Stark in Winterfell, can bide her time and ultimately rule the North. This scene reinforces Sansa’s transformation from pawn to potential player, though it also tethers her fate to the machinations of a man whose endgame remains inscrutable.

At the Wall, Stannis prepares his departure for Winterfell. Jon Snow, now Lord Commander, again refuses the king’s offer of legitimacy and Winterfell, honouring his Night’s Watch vows. More intriguing is the visit from Melisandre, who attempts to seduce Jon in the firelight, a scene that provided the episode’s obligatory (and by now routine) fan service via Carice van Houten’s bare breasts. Jon’s refusal, citing fidelity to the dead Ygritte, is met with Melisandre’s ominous echo of Ygritte’s catchphrase: “You know nothing, Jon Snow.” The line is a potent piece of foreshadowing, linking Jon’s lineage and destiny to the Red Priestess’s magic in a way the books had only hinted at, demonstrating the show’s occasional skill at condensing prophetic elements.

The episode also tidies up a dangling thread from High Sparrow, revealing that Jorah Mormont, having captured Tyrion Lannister, is taking him eastwards to Meereen in a desperate bid to win back Daenerys’s favour. This sets in motion one of the season’s strongest narrative mergers, pairing two of the show’s finest wits.

All these manoeuvres, however, are but a prelude to the episode’s controversial centrepiece: the events in Meereen. After a touching scene where Ser Barristan Selmy shares memories of her brother Rhaegar with Daenerys—a rare moment of personal history for the often-mythic Targaryens—the city’s unrest boils over. Daenerys again refuses Hizdahr zo Loraq’s plea to reopen the fighting pits, a refusal that frames her as inflexible. The Sons of the Harpy, aided by a prostitute named Vara, launch a coordinated attack. They first slaughter a group of the sellsword Second Sons, then use the commotion to lure a large Unsullied patrol into a narrow alleyway trap. The ensuing massacre is brutally efficient, shot with claustrophobic intensity within the cavernous Diocletian’s Palace in Croatia. Ser Barristan, hearing the conflict, intervenes. In a valiant last stand, he helps save the life of the gravely wounded Grey Worm but is himself surrounded and mortally stabbed. It is a spectacular, well-choreographed fight, and a seemingly heroic end for a legendary knight.

Yet herein lies the episode’s—and arguably the season’s—most consequential and criticised narrative decision. In George R. R. Martin’s published works, Ser Barristan the Bold is very much alive, acting as Daenerys’s steadfast Hand in Meereen. His death in Sons of the Harpy constitutes the first major, irreversible departure of a primary character’s fate from the source material. The showrunners, David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, later explained the choice was made to underline Daenerys’s growing isolation in Meereen by removing her most trusted and honourable advisor. To say this explanation did not sit well among the fandom is a profound understatement. Barristan Selmy, portrayed with dignified grace by Ian McElhinney, was one of the last true embodiments of Westerosi chivalry—a living link to the era of Aerys II and a moral compass in a murky world. His death felt less like a natural culmination of his arc and more like a pragmatic, even disposable, plot device to streamline Daenerys’s descent into harder-edged rule. While the action sequence itself was commendable, the decision left a bitter taste for many book readers and show fans alike, who often cite it as the series’ first significant ‘fumble’—a moment where expediency seemed to trump narrative richness. The visceral violence of the Faith Militant’s attack on a prostitute named Merei was reportedly subdued from initial plans, yet the narrative violence done to Selmy’s story resonated far more deeply.

Written by Dave Hill in his debut script for the series, Sons of the Harpy is, on a technical level, a competent piece of television. It advances multiple plotlines with efficiency, features strong production values and decent action, and continues the season’s work of condensing Martin’s sprawling narrative. However, it also embodies the emerging double-edged sword of this adaptation strategy. The King’s Landing plot is a taut, thrilling political thriller, but the Dorne plot feels undercooked and generic. The thematic beats at the Wall and Winterfell are effective, but the core event in Meereen—the death of Ser Barristan—exposes a troubling precedent. It signals a willingness to sacrifice deeply embedded character integrity and fan investment for the sake of a simplified emotional beat and narrative convenience. In this sense, Sons of the Harpy is not merely an episode about a masked insurgency in Slaver’s Bay; it is the episode where the show’s own insurgent departure from its source material first struck down a knight in earnest, revealing that from this point forward, no character’s fate was sacred to the original text, for better or for worse. The consequences of that choice would echo far beyond the streets of Meereen.

Released in 1982 and directed by Amy Heckerling, Fast Times at Ridgemont High became one of the most influential high school films ever made. Unlike a lot of teen comedies that came later, this movie does not feel overly polished or manufactured. It captures the awkwardness, stupidity, insecurity, and chaos of being young in a way that still feels surprisingly real.

The film is based on Cameron Crowe’s book, which came from him secretly going undercover as a student at a California high school to observe real teenage life. That realism shows up throughout the movie. Even with the exaggerated comedy, the characters still feel believable.

Judge Reinhold stars as Brad Hamilton, the stressed out older brother trying to juggle work, adulthood, and constant humiliation. Reinhold gives the character enough frustration and sincerity that you actually root for him even when everything in his life keeps falling apart.

Jennifer Jason Leigh plays Stacy Hamilton, Brad’s younger sister, and her storyline gives the movie more emotional depth than people sometimes remember. Stacy is trying to navigate relationships, sex, and growing up while constantly receiving terrible advice from everyone around her. Leigh handles the role with vulnerability and realism.

Phoebe Cates as Linda Barrett became one of the most iconic parts of the movie, partly because of the famous pool scene that basically became burned into pop culture forever. But Linda is more than just that scene. She acts as Stacy’s older friend trying to guide her through dating and adulthood, even if she does not always have the answers herself.

Then there is Sean Penn as Jeff Spicoli, easily one of the most memorable comedy characters of the entire decade. Spicoli is lazy, permanently stoned, and somehow completely disconnected from reality. Penn fully disappears into the role, and every scene with him feels unpredictable and hilarious.

Ray Walston as Mr. Hand creates the perfect rivalry with Spicoli. Their constant back and forth becomes one of the funniest parts of the film because Hand takes everything seriously while Spicoli barely understands what planet he is on.

Amy Heckerling directs the movie with a loose and natural style that keeps it from feeling too staged. She allows scenes to breathe and lets the awkwardness of teenage life play out naturally instead of forcing sitcom style punchlines every few seconds.

The plot is really more a collection of interconnected stories than one single narrative. That structure works because high school life itself feels scattered and chaotic. Jobs, relationships, school pressure, embarrassment, and friendships all blend together into one confusing experience.

Some parts of the movie definitely feel a little corny now in that very early eighties way, especially certain fashion choices and exaggerated comedy moments. But honestly, I think that gives the movie personality instead of hurting it. It feels tied to a real time and place.

What makes Fast Times at Ridgemont High still work is that underneath the comedy, it treats teenagers like actual people. The movie does not mock their feelings or reduce everything to simple jokes. It understands that growing up is awkward and sometimes painful.

The soundtrack also deserves praise because it perfectly captures the energy of the era. Songs from The Go-Go’s, Jackson Browne, Sammy Hagar, and others help make the movie feel alive and connected to early eighties youth culture.

Over time, the film became a major cultural touchstone because it influenced so many teen movies that followed. You can see pieces of Fast Times in everything from later John Hughes films to modern coming of age comedies.

In the end, Fast Times at Ridgemont High is still a classic to me because it balances humor and honesty better than most teen movies ever made. It is funny, awkward, sometimes ridiculous, and surprisingly heartfelt all at once.

It may be a little corny around the edges now, but that only adds to the nostalgia and charm. Great teen films are not about perfection. They are about capturing a moment in life honestly, and Fast Times absolutely does that.

The first season of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine was, by its very nature, a period of intense experimentation. The series had already signalled in its pilot, Emissary, a decisive break from the tone and themes of its illustrious predecessor, The Next Generation. Where TNG offered the comforting, forward-moving optimism of the USS Enterprise, DS9 presented a grimy, static outpost still reeling from occupation, a setting ripe for conflict and moral ambiguity. In ‘A Man Alone’, one of the series’ earliest instalments, the production team made another bold declaration of intent: a shift in narrative structure. Abandoning the one or two tightly woven plots characteristic of classic Star Trek, this episode attempts to juggle multiple, concurrent storylines—a format more akin to a terrestrial television drama than a space-bound adventure. The ambition is commendable, but the execution reveals the growing pains inherent in such a radical departure.

The primary plot revolves around the station’s enigmatic shapeshifting constable, Odo. Deeply concerned by the influx of dubious characters drawn to the station following the discovery of the Celestial Temple (the Bajoran wormhole), Odo’s fears are crystallised in the form of Ibudan (Stephen James Carver), a Bajoran with a notorious reputation for unethical smuggling during the Cardassian occupation. Odo’s visceral desire to keep Ibudan off his station leads to a public brawl, forcibly broken up by Commander Sisko. When Ibudan is later found murdered in a holosuite, the evidence against Odo seems incontrovertible. Odo is relieved of duty, and a classic, if somewhat pedestrian, murder mystery unfolds. The investigation by Doctor Bashir and Science Officer Dax uncovers traces of strange biological matter, whilst a bigoted Bajoran named Zayra (Edward Laurence Albert) whips a lynch mob into a frenzy against the ‘alien’ constable. The resolution, arriving just in time to prevent violence, hinges on a piece of contrived technobabble: the victim was not Ibudan but a cloned duplicate, killed by the real Ibudan in an elaborate frame-up. Odo ultimately apprehends Ibudan, who is disguised as an elderly man (Tom Klunis). Whilst actor René Auberjonois has rightly praised the plot for tackling xenophobia and mob mentality, the mystery itself is the episode’s weakest element. The clone solution feels like a narrative cheat, a piece of pseudo-scientific convenience that undermines the more grounded, character-driven tension the episode strives for elsewhere.

It is in these ‘elsewhere’ moments that A Man Alone finds its true strength. A secondary storyline sees Keiko O’Brien, frustrated by her lack of purpose and a minor spat with her husband Miles, petition Sisko to allow her to open a school. Her motivation is partly spurred by the burgeoning, troublesome friendship between Jake Sisko and Quark’s Ferengi nephew, Nog (Aron Eisenberg). The depiction of Jake and Nog’s adolescent mischief—a delightful slice of normality amidst the station’s larger dramas—is a great move. Their forced enrolment in Keiko’s class, with initial refusal overruled by Nog’s hapless father Rom (Max Grodénchik), provides genuine warmth and humour. This subplot does more to establish DS9 as a living community than any amount of Cardassian architecture, planting the seeds for one of the series’ most enduring and transformative friendships.

Simultaneously, the episode wisely continues to explore the station’s complex social dynamics through the lens of Doctor Bashir’s infatuation with Jadzia Dax. Bashir’s awkward attempts to deal with a romance are complicated by the Trill symbiont’s unique physiology and history. He is visibly unsettled by Sisko’s deep, familial friendship with the Dax symbiont’s previous host, Curzon, wondering aloud if this ancient bond precludes any chance he might have with Jadzia. This thread is left intriguingly unresolved, a promise of future emotional exploration far more compelling than the solved murder.

These structural choices were deliberate. Writer and executive producer Michael Piller explicitly aimed to emulate the multi-threaded, ensemble-driven style of Hill Street Blues, a groundbreaking police procedural. Furthermore, the episode was conceived as a ‘bottle show’, focusing on internal character conflicts and existing sets to conserve budget after the pilot’s considerable expense. Ironically, Piller later conceded that A Man Alone failed in this latter goal, running over budget—a telling indicator of the difficulties in managing several stories at once. One undeniable success of this character focus is the introduction of a crucial piece of exposition: Odo’s need to regenerate his liquid form every 18 hours. This simple detail instantly deepens his character, framing him not just as an alien, but as one with a vulnerable, biological imperative, further setting him apart from his solid colleagues.

The final assessment of A Man Alone is that it is a generally solid but frustratingly uneven piece of television. Its lack of focus is palpable; the quality of the storylines varies wildly. The murder plot is mechanically weak, saved only by its thematic relevance to prejudice. Conversely, the character work—particularly the nascent Jake-Nog friendship and the awkward Bashir-Dax-Sisko triangle—is handled with a deft, subtle touch that would become a hallmark of the series. The episode also squanders the talents of guest actor Edward Laurence Albert, relegating him to a one-note, bigoted agitator with minimal depth or development. Perhaps the most damning critique comes from its own architect: Michael Piller’s subsequent expressed dissatisfaction with the episode speaks volumes. A Man Alone is a fascinating, flawed blueprint. It boldly points towards DS9’s future as a serialised, character-centric drama, but in its inaugural attempt, it demonstrates that ambition alone cannot balance multiple narratives with equal grace. It is a necessary, if somewhat wobbly, step on the station’s long road toward becoming the most nuanced and novel chapter in the Star Trek canon.

When I first saw the title, honestly I thought that it would be German or in German or anything else but what it actually was.

It's original title is: Original title: Berlín y las joyas de París and it is a mini series. One of those you can see in one full day (or break it in two nights, like I did)

From the very beginning, the series manages to create a strong atmosphere. The tone, the dialogues, the characters, their style and even the setting, it all feels very carefully designed. One thing I especially enjoyed was the language (spanish) and the way characters express themselves.

The plot itself is engaging and, at times, unpredictable. There are moments where you think you know exactly where things are going… and then the story shifts direction completely. That unpredictability is definitely one of the strongest points of both series.

The story? In just one line

A masterful gang gather in Paris to plan one of his most ambitious robberies ever.

Everything is very carefully planned, everyone in the team very talented and very carefully selected. But what could go wrong? And are they smart enough to overcome the unexpected? How do they deal with desire, amour, surprises?

How well is really everything planned?

The acting is worth highlighting. Every character feels like they fully belong in their role, and I cannot think of anyone else in the specific role. The casting did a great job here!

There’s confidence, charm, tension, sometimes all in a single scene. It pulls you into the story, even when things slow down a bit. You feel their agony, their curiosity and excitement as they play their roles.

My only criticism is simple and I think it will not remove your will to watch this.

I understand that the series writers wanted to build personal backstories and to fill in a few episodes, however there are moments where it feels a bit stretched.

Some scenes take longer than they need to, and at times I found myself getting a bit bored with some overly discussed details. I believe that a tighter edit in certain episodes would have made the pacing stronger.

I genuinely enjoyed the series and I was very curious to watch it to the very end, as the suspence follows you to the very last minute of the series!

The rating? 7.1/10 and I fully agree with it. I may even get a bit higher and go to 7.5/10

The scenario, direction, sceneries, plot, really great!... I dont regret the two nights when I slept only a few hours :)

I will also watch the very new series, I think it is a good option for an entertaining evening. What do you think?

Perdí la cuenta de cuantas películas del Studio Ghibli me he visto a lo largo de los años y es que por más que se crea que se han visto todas siempre sale alguna por ahí que falta. Partiendo de eso habría que decir que me deben de faltar un par después de haber visto este fin de semana, Arrietty o como le conoce con la traducción: "el mundo secreto de Arrietty". De las primeras cosas ha decir es que este film es de los más "normales" que tiene Ghibli, no porque sea mala ni nada por el estilo sino porque en lo que a fantasía se refiere quizás no sea tan espectacular. Interesante que diga esto teniendo a los personajes que hay en la historia, pero bueno.

Esta película nos presenta a Arrietty y su familia, unos seres muy pequeños que viven en el mundo de los humanos. Como lo hacen? - pues escondidos debajo de una gran casa en donde fueron capaces de construir su diminuta casa. Allí viven tranquilos sin que nadie los moleste pero con varias condiciones. La primera es que no se pueden dejar ver por los humanos ya que eso supondría el fin de ellos y lo segundo es que de vez en cuando ellos suben a la casa a tomar "prestado" algunas cosas que necesitan para subsistir, comida más que todo. La cosa es que la dinámica de sus vidas cambia cuando Arrietty junto a su padre fueron vistos en una expedición, precisamente buscando provisiones, por Sho, un joven enfermo que comenzó a vivir en dicha casa.

Cual es el detalle o la causa del conflicto? - que Arrietty y el joven Sho logran entablar una amistad a pesar de las recomendaciones de su padre que no lo hiciera por su desconfianza hacia los humanos y es que en el pasado han desaparecido varios de ellos, de su especie, de ahí a que más allá de desconfianza es miedo lo que pueden sentir. Ahora con su seguridad un poco alterada ellos tendrán que tener un extra de cuidado y en caso de ser necesario pues buscar otra casa para vivir. Una de las cosas que tiene cool Ghibli es la capacidad de hacer personajes entrañables por más "simple" que sea su historia. Y digo simple a pesar de que estamos hablando de unos seres ultra pequeños que tienen su propio mundo construido debajo de las narices de los humanos. Pero si, son personajes muy cariñosos, amables, con los que empatizar es muy fácil.

La trama es básicamente ver como ellos viven su vida. Como las cosas tan básicas para los humanos para ellos son extraordinarias, un tarro de azúcar les puede durar años, lo mismo que una hoja de laurel; las galletas también son cosas que les pueden dar sustento por mucho tiempo. Como el espectador logra sumergirse en esa realidad es lo cool del film, todas las hazañas que tienen que hacer para simplemente cruzar la casa, montarse en una mesa y bajarse de ella. Como siempre Ghibli introduce a un personaje que supone peligro y en este caso es la ama de llaves de la casa que sospecha de estos seres y se propone atraparlos, esa urgencia hace que la película hacia el final se ponga interesante. La verdad es que no me aburrió en ningún momento, creo también que es de los films más cortos de este Studio ya que dura hora y media.

La animación es la propia de Ghibli, todo el diseño de los personajes es exactamente el mismo a pesar de que este film fue sacado en el 2010. Esto no quiere decir que sea de baja calidad, al contrario, la capacidad de detalle que tienen es increíble, sobretodo los elementos naturales, es impresionante como logran captar a la naturaleza y su simpleza, sin dudas es de los mejor de este estudio por lejos. Es una película muy fresca y amigable, no tiene esa tristeza ni el drama de otros títulos pero de igual forma se disfruta mucho. Obligada de ver si les gusta el Studio Ghibli, muy recomendada la verdad. Les dejo el tráiler por acá abajo.
