First lets get something right out of the gate, Citizen Vigilante deals with racist ideas, anti immigrant anger and acts of violence that I do not support. Still, a movie can be discussed as a movie without agreeing with the people or ideas inside it, we have all kind of war, crime and all kind of bad things on movies, its just entertainment and some of them are rated like NC-17 for adults only, but I dont understand why the fuck this was not considering everything that is in it. This review is about whether the story works, whether the characters are convincing and whether the movie is entertaining, while also recognizing that the idea behind certain things on the movie are not ...hhmmm, this movie is fucked up.

Now about the movie, Citizen Vigilante works best when Sanders looks dangerous, but the movie keeps getting in its own way by treating his violence like is some kid of proof he is the only serious killer in the room. The opening attack on a mother after she shops with her son feels like its there to make you angry before you can process anything else and that ugly kill gives you a clear idea of why people start praising a vigilante once police and courts look useless, here we get into a kind of Dare Devil territory, but Sanders is way worst. The movie never really connects Sanders to those victims though, he shows up already convinced everyone around him is weak, stupid or corrupt, so his anger never feels like it grew out of pain, more like he was waiting for permission to hurt people. He latter on visits the injured young woman and this make things worse, she tells him she wants the men who attacked her to spend their lives in prison, a fair and logical answer but Sanders keeps pushing until revenge sounds like the only option, he totally skips the legal system like it never existed or should exist. I get the point, a victim losing faith in the system but Sanders is not really listening, he is using her pain to back up a decision he already made in the fist place when he put two plus two. That makes him more interesting as a dangerous man, but the movie keeps presenting the same behavior as confidence and strength, wanting for the audience to fear him while rooting for him, the anti hero, to make things more clear like The Punisher and those two things never sit right together as the violence progress, this type of character start to fall into some questionable decisions.

The biggest issue is Sanders has no real limit and the movie does not seem bothered by that. He helps two women at a bar by switching drugged drinks back onto the guys who spiked them, stops the crime, warns the women and leaves without killing anyone, so we know he can act without making an execution out of everything. But then he sees teenagers from a bus hurting another kid and tases them before stomping on them until bones break and sure they had it coming, but Sanders goes way past stopping them, and this goes way beyond fear, this goes into terror and only extreme violence solve problems, there is no process anymore and just punishment without questions ask. It gets worse when Sanders kidnaps the judge who kept the six attackers out of prison. Sanders impersonates a police officer, drugs and kidnaps Judge Reinhold, the judge who gave six teenage boys no prison time after they sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl. The judge’s explanation was that society had failed to integrate the boys, so they were also victims of the system, see an on going topic here? , not only Sanders is fucked up. During the drive, he lectures the judge about people blindly following rules, then very aware of whats goint to happen next enters the wrong lane and forces an innocent driver off the road. The car flips and explodes, and Sanders casually says the driver is probably dead, treating an innocent man’s death as proof of his argument. That scene wrecks any idea he is protecting innocent people, turning a total stranger into a lesson and talking like that death was worth using, if this guy head was not rotten already. This could have been the moment a vigilante crossing the line actually means something, instead it plays like one more punishment, this are the type of scenes when either someone from the outside makes the call and warn him how far he has gone. Its like he alwasy think his opinion gives him the right to decide who lives, not losing control in some terrible moment, and sadly that is not justice with a rough method, that is a guy building excuses for murder.

I think the movie argument of a "vigilante" becomes weak by making Sanders such an obvious hypocrite, as he treats laws like they only matter when they support his finance or his version of punishment. At his property office he complains about tenants late on rent and demands evictions, even though he owns thousands of units and makes a fortune off them, then gets angry when told local rules protect residents, but then you got things like his own status in the country is not properly registered and officials are asking about his companies and taxes, which Sanders always find a way skip with ease some how and figures lawyers will handle it. Its probably the worts contradiction in the movie or at least the most clear one that expose the character as someone who only hates lawlessness when it does not benefit his agenda but the movie just keeps moving during this moments like it doesnt apply to him. I could understand how many might not like the system but if you dont then dont be a part of it, meaning you cant play the game if you are not going to follow the rules. There is this other weird brothel scene that says a lot about Sanders, he pays for sex in a building he owns, notices mold and starts lecturing the woman about ventilation, caring about a wall in that moment, when in other occasions he lets repairs sit unfinished as long as the building does not fall down, even when they are necessary, so I wonder if for him been aware sometimes is just enough and the moment to act is when things get very ugly and why he is that extremist under certain occasions?. For the most part of me it shows exactly how he treats people, problems to fix, payments to collect and anything else that doesnt fit his speech or agenda, everything around him is always so convinient. Armie Hammer plays him with such a flat voice that the guy barely shows been anger, sad or excited, which fits the man who removed all doubt from his own thinking, fits very well the character.

There are scenes that should make Sanders look terrifying, but the editing makes it hard to take seriously, like when Interpol chief Henry leads a group of armed officers into the building where Sanders is hiding behind a metal wall with gun holes cut into it. Sanders warns them, but they keep moving forward and he shoots them down one after another, this should be the point where any sympathy left for Sanders disappears. These are not corrupt cops or people connected to the crimes he has been punishing. They are officers trying to arrest a killer and he murders them for doing their job. Instead of letting that sink in, the movie fills the scene with strange music, too much blood, slow motion and repeated shots. The scene becomes confusing instead of shocking, even the explosion does not seem to match the damage shown afterward, which makes the editing feel sloppy. Henry survives with severe burns but there is no real conflict between them, it just shows Sanders can set a trap and everyone chasing him will act foolish even cartoonish. The rest of the movie has that same pacing problem, jumping between recorded messages, social media praise, police movement, property business, victims and killings without making much sense, killing just because he can and he wants. Repeated shots of Sanders handling guns, working out and walking feel like filler, and the ugly green and yellow color grading makes locations look inconsistent from once scene to the other, for me its just a confusing way of directing a movie that makes things a bit harder to follow.

The ending confirms my main problem with Citizen Vigilante, Sanders is clearly a monster by now but the movie still wants his message to land as important. The movie reaches its worst point when Sanders goes after the family of one of the six boys involved in the assault case. This is the same case connected to the judge he kidnapped earlier. Sanders takes the family hostage, forces their son to call the other attackers, and kills them when they arrive. He then kills the parents and sister too, blaming them for defending the son, for the sister’s post attacking the victim, and for the values expressed by the fathe, by this point he is no longer punishing only the people who committed the assault, he has decided that anyone who supported them or said something he dislikes also deserves to die. The case already went through court but Sanders now acts as judge and executioner, with no limit on how far he can spread the blame, like he is the one who is going to save justice. Instead the final call with Henry drifts into speeches about Islamist extremists, political enemies on the left and defending Europe, while the victim and her father watch the attackers turn up dead and Sanders keeps repeating that others should act like him, the moment when I thought "they really thought it was a good idea to put this into a movie??". The movie seems proud of the result even after showing him kill innocent cops, leave a random driver presumed dead and execute a family that never got a chance to answer for anything. I get the anger behind a story about violent criminals walking free, but Sanders does not fix that system, he just replaces the law with his own anger and calls every murder necessary, turning into the exact threat he claims to fight, making his character not in control but in total domination in a more dictatorship style, still talking like a savior, just absurd. Now here is where I rate the movie for how absurd it is in and violent, yes its stupid at times too, part of it I like, part of it I hated, it falls more into a 7/10 although its not a worthless movie you cant watch. If you are into gore, violence and a movie that dares to go against the classic action movie vigilante mold, and also know how to separate the controversy and drama so you dont get worked, yeah I know to many IF, then I would say go ahead and watch it.

Phew! It's been months since I wrote my last movie review here on Hive. Honestly, this category of writing is deeply personal to me, and with my past reviews having little to zero readers, I intentionally decided to save my efforts. Synopsis

After losing one of the biggest games of the season at Brookshire Christian College, a high school basketball coach(John) struggles with the pain of letting go of his cherished team as their families begin relocating due to the town's inability to keep its biggest manufacturing plant open. Shortly after, he is faced with the responsibility of heading the school's cross-country program. He becomes a mentor to Hannah Scott, an orphaned, asthmatic junior who happens to be the only interested participant in the entire institution. What begins as a boring endeavour with no foresight of success grows into a story of hope, determination, and breaking barriers for both Hannah and John, who eventually discover their true identity in Christ.

What Makes This Movie Special to Me

Genuinely, I think that at different stages of our lives as cinephiles, we will come across that one movie that may not have the greatest direction, props, or finest actors, but the central message settles in our hearts and teaches us a lesson that changes us forever.

For me, that movie is Overcomer. I watched this movie at a point in my life where, just like Hannah, I struggled with a few bad habits, constantly questioned my existence, wondered if anyone truly loved me completely, and even worse, doubted my capabilities despite growing up as a brilliant child.

The first time I watched Hannah steal a headphone from some boys playing basketball at the park, I felt totally disappointed because I already liked her as a character. But then, I realized that even I was not without sin. I had my own imperfections that stopped me from being a totally awesome child and friend.

Hannah's resolution to turn a new leaf inspired me to do just the same. By watching her, I began the hard work of killing my flesh; doing everything within my power to remain disciplined. Over time, I got to understand that my parents and guardians only reprimanded me because they loved and wanted the best for me. Not the other way round.

Another defining moment from this movie for me was seeing Hannah's coach, John, get into a wrong room during a hospital visit with his pastor. Instead of walking away, he sat and listened to a blind, bedridden male patient whose curiosity led to him asking this question:

"What have you allowed to define you?"

This question stuck with me so much that after seeing the movie, I began to write down a list of things I had let define me as a teenager. I realized I was prioritizing some wrong ideals, and only then did I understand that those impressions were part of the reasons I felt dissatisfied with the world. Eventually, I made a commitment to begin a new life defined only by the things that mattered the most.

And finally, the part of forgiveness and finding one's true identity. In this movie, Hannah met with a relative whose absence created a huge vacuum and left a feeling of unworthiness in her heart. She was aggrieved and confused, but she ended up taking the difficult path of forgiveness because at the end of the day, we are all fallible humans capable of erring.

Through Hannah, I got to see how liberating forgiving someone could be. As a young girl, I used to struggle with it, too, but this movie changed that part of my life. It became easier for me to forgive others, and each time I did, it felt like a burden was lifted from my chest. I was indeed free and even now, I still ask:

**If others find it in their hearts to forgive me when I do wrong, what reason do I have to say no to forgiving those who trespass against me? **

I also may no longer be as religious as I was as a teen, but I remember reading the book of Ephesians simply because Hannah did it in a bid to discover herself. And I cherish chapter 1 & 2 of that bible book because it equally reminded me the value of my existence and the light I carried inside of me. I, who was once broken, got healed by the positive words in Ephesians. Negativity became a distant echo to me rather than a close neighbour.

The most cherished memory that connects me to this movie was passing an exam I had failed the previous year. I thought, if Hannah could go from being the 34th position in a cross country race to being a champion, then I can conquer that examination no matter how tough it may seem.

And even today, I still repeat these affirmations:

I AM LOVED

I AM BLESSED

I AM WORTHY

I AM TALENTED

I AM ENOUGH

I AM AN OVERCOMER

I hope this review reminds everyone reading this that they, too, can change their lives if they believe in themselves and in the process. You only have to open your heart and commit to doing the hard work, which often requires courage, patience and determination.

When I read the invitation to share our weekly experiences with Korean culture, I immediately thought of one of my favorite activities: learning about new cultures without having to hop on a plane. So, this time, I looked for a great Korean movie to enjoy and share with you all.

Thanks to the magic of streaming platforms like Netflix, we have a direct window into the lifestyle, humor, cuisine, and culture of this fascinating Asian country from the comfort of our own homes.

This week, I decided to explore the catalog of new releases and stumbled upon a brand-new comedy-action gem on Netflix: “Husbands in Action” (남편들), which premiered worldwide on June 19, 2026.

What is “Husbands in Action” about? (No spoilers)

The film introduces us to two polar-opposite characters who are forced to work together for an extreme cause. On one hand, we have Choong-sik (played by the charismatic Jin Sun-kyu), a tough and stubborn detective from the narcotics unit. On the other, there’s Min-seok (played by Gong Myung), a young, peaceful, and somewhat refined veterinarian.

What’s the problem between them? Choong-sik is the ex-husband and Min-seok is the current husband of the same woman. Their inevitable male rivalry and natural jealousy explode when the woman and her young daughter are kidnapped by a dangerous criminal network. To rescue them, this “ex” and this “current” husband must set aside their differences and form one of the most dysfunctional and entertaining action duos in recent cinema.

Hey there Folks of Scrobble.Life! I would like to share some movie experience with you guys that I believed was fun and will take you out of your stressful time for an hour or two. Well, it is a funny one so I guess it can make you smile or laugh for a while. 90's movies can be good source of teen comedy which will take you to some real life situations in your high school years. The movie's plot centered to four friends, Jim Levenstein, Chris Ostreicher, Paul Finch and Kevin Myers which are desperately trying to achieve sexual milestones. I wouldn't forget the character of Stifler which for sure you'll see the color it can give I mean additional color it can give to the movie. Younger years sure are fun specially if you are making memorable ones. I will not state too much of how happy this movie can go but I will just have to remind you that it contain some serious PG's to the viewer specially if you are a minor or very young at hearth with old age. But still, the fun it can show is really a good plot in the movie if you are onto teenage jokes and you don't want to think too much in watching a movie. I am giving this a good rating because it is a movie that can enlightens one's mood if it is made for it just like me. I am still cutting some part of the perfect rating for there are some jokes that go overboard in my opinion but still are enjoyable!

I originally saw it in theaters when it was first released, wondering just how good it would be and whether I would end up liking it; looking back, I can say that going to see it was a great decision.

Está película es una adaptación de la versión animada del año 2002, en dónde claramente se pueden ver a los personajes en la vida real con ese toque de fantasía, se estrenó en el año 2025, si ocurrieron varios cambios entre ambas versiones pero de igual forma me pareció buena esta adaptación.

This film is an adaptation of the 2002 animated version, clearly presenting the characters in a live-action setting with a touch of fantasy; it was released in 2025. Although there were several changes between the two versions, I still found this adaptation to be good.

Lilo es una niña Hawaiana que ama bailar, y también surfear luego de quedar huérfana quedó bajo la tutela de su hermana Nani, fué un desafío para ambas ya que en cierta parte Lilo se sentía sola, y Nani debía trabajar para poder mantener a Lilo. Debido a la ausencia de su hermana por las ocupaciones que tenía llevó a Lilo a buscar un compañero.

Lilo is a Hawaiian girl who loves dancing and surfing. After becoming an orphan, she was placed under the guardianship of her sister, Nani; this was a challenging situation for both of them, as Lilo often felt lonely while Nani had to work to support her. Her sister's frequent absences due to work commitments led Lilo to look for a companion.

Allí es donde aparece Stitch, un pequeño extraterrestre que combina el lado feroz y tierno, cuando llega a tierra se hace pasar por un perro en dónde Lilo decide llevárselo para adoptarlo, a Nani no le parecía la idea pero luego descubre que no se trata de un animal común. Sin embargo se convierte en su compañero de travesuras. Eso sí, varias escenas nos hacen reír con las ocurrencias de ambos.

Nevertheless, he becomes her partner in mischief. Indeed, the antics of the pair provide plenty of laughs throughout the story.

Ambos comparten tiempo y experiencias junto por lo que Lilo lo hace parte de su vida, a pesar de los múltiples intentos de los agentes espaciales para atrapar a Stitch la decisión final es dejarlo en la tierra bajo la tutela de Nani y Lilo, convirtiéndose parte de su familia, en esta película se puede sentir el miedo, la tristeza pero también el amor de una familia.

The two share time and experiences, and Lilo makes him a part of her life; despite the space agents' repeated attempts to capture Stitch, the final decision is to leave him on Earth under the care of Nani and Lilo, where he becomes part of their family. The film captures the fear and sadness, but also the love, of a family.

La frase principal es Ohana significa familia, y la familia nunca te abandona ni te olvida. un lema que tiene mucho poder hasta en nuestra propia vida, esto nos demuestra que a pesar de los problemas, dificultades que tuvieron ambas hermanas para convivir y sobrellevar la perdida de sus padres pudieron reconstruir su vínculo, además de que Stitch no fuese visto como solo un extraterrestre si no como un ser que también siente y quiere.

The key phrase is "Ohana means family, and family never abandons or forgets you"—a motto that holds great power in our own lives. It demonstrates that, despite the problems and difficulties the two sisters faced in living together and coping with the loss of their parents, they were able to rebuild their bond; furthermore, it shows that Stitch was not viewed merely as an alien, but as a being capable of feeling and loving.

Me gustó mucho como se puede llevar una película animada a una versión más real manteniendo su historia principal así mismo se pueden apreciar escenas icónicas pero más modernas, así que la volvería a ver en casa. Gracias por leer.

I really liked how an animated movie could be adapted into a more realistic version while staying true to the original story; you can also appreciate iconic scenes updated for modern times, so I would definitely watch it again at home. Thanks for reading.
