   Hola mis queridos lectores de Hive y amantes del mundo cinematográfico ❤️ hoy es viernes, inicio del fin de semana y una buena excusa para mirar una nueva recomendación, una vez más con una producción de la plataforma Disney+(plus), con un film un poco parecido al que compartí hace unos días, ya que es una secuela de lo que en su momento fue un clásico de Disney, me refiero a "Hocus Pocus" o Abracadabra en su versión latina, en dónde vuelven las brujas de Salem casi tres décadas después para continuar con su venganza y buscar la juventud eterna durante otra noche de halloween, pero en una época mucho más moderna y totalmente diferente a la que ellas recuerdan desde su última invocación en la entrega de los 90's.

   

   Para aquellos que seguimos y recordamos la primera parte de 1993, las hermanas Sanderson interpretados por (Bette Minder), quien da vida a Winifred, la mayor de ellas, (Sarah Jessica Parker) Sarah y (Kathy Najimy) como Mary Sanderson, continúan en esta segunda entrega como terminó la primera, todas ellas derrotadas, y "aparentemente" acabado el peligro para los niños ya que eran sus principales víctimas para tener la juventud eterna. Hasta ahí todo bien, ya que los años pasan, y luego de un pequeño flashback de su niñez, y como surgió su vida como brujas, la historia se centra en tres nuevas protagonistas juveniles Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) y Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), tres amigas que no están muy alejadas de este mundo de la magia y la brujería. En noche de halloween, más tarde ese día, tratan de practicar un ritual que un misterioso hombre explica y el cual sabe mucho sobre la historia de las brujas de Salem. Lo que ellas no sabían era que este hombre las engañaría para que invocaran a las brujas y ver al fin si esto era cierto o no.

   Con la aparición de las hermanas, las chicas empiezan su aventura por evitar los malvados planes de las brujas de no solo tener el alma de los niños sino también de acabar con el reverendo del pueblo quien según por sus antepasados, es el culpable de su ejecución. La diferencia es que el pueblo no es como lo recuerdan, y muchas cosas modernas a su alrededor las distraen de su objetivo principal, aunque al final ese objetivo no será como imaginaba.

   

   Mi puntuación para esta película sería un 8 de 10, la verdad que me gustó mucho volver a ver reunidas estas hermanas que combinan la brujería con la simpatía aún a casi 30 años de su primera aparición con estos personajes, y como no también sentir mucha nostalgia al escuchar la entrañable canción "One Way OR ANOTHER", más que terror, fue muy divertida y entretenida, dejando incluso un vistazo de como se originó está historia y de un posible futuro final que al parecer aún no acaba del todo. Aquí les comparto el tráiler para que la disfruten y se animen a verla si es que aún no lo han hecho.. y ya luego me cuentan que tal les pareció 😸.

   Hello my dear readers of Hive and lovers of the film world ❤️ today is Friday, the beginning of the weekend and a good excuse to watch a new recommendation, once again with a production of the Disney+(plus) platform, with a film a bit similar to the one I shared a few days ago, as it is a sequel to what was once a Disney classic, I am referring to "Hocus Pocus" or Abracadabra in its Latin version, where the Salem witches return almost three decades later to continue with their revenge and seek eternal youth during another Halloween night, but in a much more modern and totally different era than the one they remember since their last invocation in the 90's installment.

   

   For those of us who follow and remember the first part of 1993, the Sanderson sisters played by (Bette Minder), who gives life to Winifred, the oldest of them, (Sarah Jessica Parker) Sarah and (Kathy Najimy) as Mary Sanderson, continue in this second installment as the first one ended, all of them defeated, and "apparently" finished the danger for the children since they were their main victims to have eternal youth. So far so good, as the years go by, and after a small flashback of their childhood, and how their life as witches came about, the story focuses on three new youthful protagonists Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) and Cassie (Lilia Buckingham), three friends who are not far removed from this world of magic and witchcraft. On Halloween night, later that day, they try to practice a ritual that a mysterious man explains and who knows a lot about the history of the Salem witches. What they didn't know was that this man would trick them into summoning the witches to finally see if it was true or not.

   With the appearance of the sisters, the girls begin their adventure to avoid the witches' evil plans to not only have the children's souls but also to take down the town's reverend who, according to their ancestors, is the one to blame for their execution. The difference is that the town is not as they remember it, and many modern things around them distract them from their main goal, although in the end that goal will not be as they imagined.

   

   My score for this movie would be an 8 out of 10, the truth is that I really enjoyed seeing again these sisters that combine witchcraft with sympathy even almost 30 years after their first appearance with these characters, and of course also feel very nostalgic when listening to the endearing song "One Way OR ANOTHER", more than terror, it was very funny and entertaining, even leaving a glimpse of how this story originated and a possible future ending that apparently still does not end at all.    Bonito día chicos, feliz domingo para todos. Hoy seguramente no he sido el único que ha amanecido con todo el tema del Miss Universo y el gran robo que nos hicieron los Venezolanos, pero bueno, lo importante es que nuestra reina lo hizo muy bien y que la mayoría sabe quien fue la verdadera ganadora.

   Nice day guys, happy Sunday to all of you. Today surely I was not the only one who woke up with the whole Miss Universe theme and the great robbery that the Venezuelans did to us, but well, the important thing is that our queen did very well and that most of us know who the real winner was.

   Sin embargo, antes de la flamante noche, fui a casa de mis padres a pedir prestado mi tv para traerlo al sitio donde estoy durmiendo y poder ver el Miss Universo mucho mejor, aproveche el día para ver una película y no dude en usar la plataforma de Disney y ver algo que tenia pendiente hace tiempo.

   However, before the flamboyant night, I went to my parents house to borrow my TV to bring it to the place where I am sleeping and be able to see the Miss Universe much better, I took advantage of the day to watch a movie and I did not hesitate to use the Disney platform and watch something that I had pending for a long time.

   Soy muy fanático de Abracadabra, recuerdo que en aquellos tiempos donde no tenia clave ni internet deseaba mucho que la televisora nacional de mi país lo pasara, y pues en Halloween eso era como un himno, podríamos contar con que lo iban a televisar.

   I am a big fan of Hocus Pocus, I remember that in those times when I had no password or internet I wished very much that the national television of my country would show it, and on Halloween that was like a hymn, we could count on that they were going to televise it.

   Recuerdo que la primera parte salió en 1993 un año antes de yo nacer, obviamente lo investigue ya con los años, lo que nunca me imagine es que iba a haber una segunda parte o reboot, tomando en cuenta que esta muy de moda rehacer películas viejas.

   I remember that the first part came out in 1993 a year before I was born, obviously I researched it over the years, what I never imagined is that there was going to be a second part or reboot, taking into account that it is very fashionable to remake old movies.

   Pues para el año pasado Disney sacó la segunda parte y es claro que todos teníamos enormes expectativas. Cuando se estrenó la mayoría de los comentarios fueron negativos y eso hizo que de cierto modo yo no quisiese verla hasta el día de ayer.

   Well, last year Disney released the second part and it is clear that we all had huge expectations. When it was released most of the comments were negative and that made me not want to see it until yesterday.

   

   Ver a estar tres grandes mujeres actuar nuevamente juntas me dio varios años de vida más, es realmente fascinante que su actuación me trasporte a la primera parte a pesar de que ha pasado muchísimo tiempo. Lo que me di cuenta es que una de ellas al parecer sufrió un derrame cerebral o paralasis por lo torcido de su boca, pero para nada esto fue impedimento para revivir su personaje.

   Seeing these three great women acting together again gave me several more years of life, it is really fascinating that their performance transports me to the first part even though a lot of time has passed. What I noticed is that one of them apparently suffered a stroke or paralysis because of the crookedness of her mouth, but this was not at all an impediment to relive her character.

   Por ese punto me encantó, también el hecho de que en esta segunda parte se narrara un poco sobre la vida de ellas antes de convertirse en brujas, bastante corta pero era justo mostrar las razones por la cual ellas tenían esa cierta afinidad a ser malas con la gente de Salem.

   For that point I loved it, also the fact that in this second part was narrated a little about the life of them before becoming witches, quite short but it was fair to show the reasons why they had that certain affinity to be bad with the people of Salem.

   Me causo mucho gracia que a pesar de ser mucho más jovenes se mantuviera intacto la esencia y personalidad de cada una, sobre todo la que siempre quiere tener el control de todo, eso las hace por siempre la hermanas Anderson desde, durante y después.

   I found it very funny that despite being much younger, the essence and personality of each of them was kept intact, especially the one who always wants to have control of everything, that makes them forever the Anderson sisters since, during and after.

   

   En cuanto a la trama no es que sea más de lo mismo, sino que el objetivo de ellas siempre ha sido tener la vida eterna y también vengarse de quienes les asesinaron, que a mi parecer desde pequeñas hubo varias cosas que me hace entender la razón de sus comportamientos malignos. Eran jovenes cuyos problemas sociales para ellas eran suficientes para hacer cosas traviesas en Salem.

   As for the plot, it is not that it is more of the same, but their goal has always been to have eternal life and also to take revenge on those who murdered them, which in my opinion since they were little there were several things that make me understand the reason for their evil behaviors. They were young girls whose social problems were enough for them to do naughty things in Salem.

   En esta entrega vemos de nuevo el cuerpo de Zombie, exactamente igual por cierto, y me dio curiosidad que se le diera menos protagonismo que la anterior.

   In this installment we see Zombie's body again, exactly the same by the way, and I was curious that he was given less prominence than the previous one.

   En esta trama quisieron dar un mensaje de unión, y creo que si lo ponemos sobre la mesa no esta nada mal, pues ellas obtuvieron su poder juntas y la bruja que les ayudo a potenciar sus poderes le transmitió el mensaje clave.

   In this plot they wanted to give a message of union, and I think that if we put it on the table is not bad at all, because they got their power together and the witch who helped them to enhance their powers transmitted the key message.

   El hecho de ser brujas las hace un poco competitivas, pero una de ellas debe recordar que la magia siempre tiene consecuencias y cuando se trata de obtener el poder total mucho más.

   The fact that they are witches makes them a bit competitive, but one of them must remember that magic always has consequences and when it comes to obtaining total power much more.

   

   En contraste con esto, utilizaron la amistad de tres jovenes que siempre hacían un ritual en el cumpleaños de una de ellas. Suponiendo que son como hermanas también.

   In contrast to this, they used the friendship of three young women who always performed a ritual on the birthday of one of them. Assuming that they are like sisters too.

   Lo curioso es que una de ellas es bruja y hay momentos en que pudiéramos pensar que por serlo se jactaría de ello para proteger a sus cercanos, sin embargo, el hecho de tener amigas es una suerte y bendición, solo de ese modo pueden resolver este mágico encuentro con las hermanas Anderson quienes buscan vengarse y más nunca morir.

   The curious thing is that one of them is a witch and there are moments when we could think that because she is a witch she would boast about it to protect her close ones, however, the fact of having friends is a luck and blessing, only that way they can solve this magical encounter with the Anderson sisters who seek revenge and never die.

   

   En lo particular no ha sido la mejor segunda parte, pero tampoco es tan decepcionante como la gente lo pinto en los comentarios. Muchas cosas se mantuvieron tal cual a la primera y eso es algo bastante positivo.

   In particular it has not been the best second part, but it is not as disappointing as people painted it in the comments. Many things remained the same as in the first part and that is something quite positive.

   Me gusto mucho que le dieran un agregado musical y también de comedia, considero que sigue siendo una película que pudiera verse en familia y disfrutarse.

   I really liked the addition of music and comedy, I think it's still a movie that could be watched with the family and enjoyed.

   Llegando tarde nuevamente, literalmente mucho después de octubre viendo Hocus Pocus 2, la sucuela que muchos esperabamos y que nos remonta a la época dorada de Disney dónde los especiales de Halloween eran todo un espectáculo que esperabamos con ansias, todos estamos de acuerdo que Hocus Pocus se convirtió en un clásico que ha trasendido en el tiempo, tanto así que nací unos años después de su estreno y aún así formo parte de mi infancia, así que la noticia de una secuela me causaba un poco de preocupación, sentía que se podía arruinar la esencia de este clásico y aquí vamos a hablar de todo esto.

   Hocus Pocus 2, nos presenta a 3 jóvenes amigas que por accidente y engañadas traen de vuelta las hermanas Sanderson, estas adolescentes intentarán deternerlas para impedir que haya desastres en Salem, por otro lado, las brujas más poderosas se encontraran con una sociedad muy diferente a la 1993, pero cansadas de perder desafían a la magia negra e intentan hacer el hechizo prohibido para tener el poder absoluto y no desaparecer al amanecer sin tener en cuenta las consecuencias del mismo.

   Arriving late again, literally long after October watching Hocus Pocus 2, the sequel that many of us were waiting for and that takes us back to the golden age of Disney where the Halloween specials were a spectacle to look forward to, we all agree that Hocus Pocus became a classic that has transcended in time, so much so that I was born a few years after its premiere and it is still part of my childhood, so the news of a sequel caused me a bit of concern, I felt that it could ruin the essence of this classic and here we are going to talk about all this.

   Hocus Pocus 2, introduces us to 3 young friends who by accident and deceived bring back the Sanderson sisters, these teenagers will try to stop them to prevent disasters in Salem, on the other hand, the most powerful witches will find a very different society to 1993, but tired of losing they challenge the black magic and try to do the forbidden spell to have absolute power and not disappear at dawn without taking into account the consequences of it.

   Hay tantas cosas de las que hablar que no sé por donde empezar, pero lo primero que tengo que decir es que esta película utiliza el recurso de la nostalgia en todo momento, y si bien no nos trae nada que no hayamos visto en la primera película se siente todo perfecto para hacernos reir y retomar una esencia que ha marcado la historia. En esta trama, las famosas brujas perseguirán a las 3 jóvenes amigas para lograr un objetivo, pero antes tendrán que enfrentarse a la nuevas tecnologías e incluso verán ese grupo de personas que idolatra.

   La historia tiene referencias pero tiene escenas muy graciosas, sin embargo, tengo que decir que el tono de esta película es mucho más familiar, la anterior también lo fue, pero en cuestión de crudeza era mucho más que esta nueva entrega; pero rescató que la esencia no se pierde y creo que era lo que todos buscamos, y acá vamos a un punto en dónde la historia no gira en base a las 3 jóvenes protagonistas sino en base a las hermanas Sanderson porque son ellas las que en todo momento se roban el giro de los acontecimientos y la historia en general.

   Hablemos de los personajes, fue tan hermoso pero tan nostalgico ver a las hermanas Sanderson de vuelta, fue espectacular, la misma esencia y lo más lindo de todo fue que a través de ciertas escenas, como por ejemplo, la que abre esta película nos permite verlas más humanas, e incluso visualizar sus sentimientos entre ellas y el desenlace de la trama lo confirma, para mi el cierre más hermoso a estos personajes.

   There are so many things to talk about that I do not know where to start, but the first thing I have to say is that this film uses the resource of nostalgia at all times, and while it does not bring us anything we have not seen in the first film it feels all perfect to make us laugh and retake an essence that has marked the story. In this plot, the famous witches will pursue the 3 young friends to achieve a goal, but first they will have to face new technologies and even see that group of people who idolize.

   The story has references but has very funny scenes, however, I have to say that the tone of this film is much more familiar, the previous one also was, but in terms of rawness was much more than this new installment; but rescued that the essence is not lost and I think it was what we all seek, and here we go to a point where the story does not revolve around the 3 young protagonists but based on the Sanderson sisters because they are the ones who at all times steal the turn of events and the story in general.

   Let's talk about the characters, it was so beautiful but so nostalgic to see the Sanderson sisters back, it was spectacular, the same essence and the most beautiful of all was that through certain scenes, for example, the one that opens this film allows us to see them more human, and even visualize their feelings between them and the denouement of the plot confirms it, for me the most beautiful closure to these characters.

   El hecho de que tuvieramos nuevas protagonistas adolescente se sintió fresco, pero siendo sincera así como en la historia, se ven opacadas por las brujas sanderson e incluso siento que son bastante olvidables. Un personaje que ame realmente, fue Gilbert, aunque un poco tonto termina por darle un aspecto diferente a esta trama y nos regala un buen duo con Billy, que regresa en esta entrega explicando un poco más de su antigua relación con las hermanas Sanderson.

   La puesta en escena de esta película es muy buena, sin embargo, si se nota más al estilo Disney Channell que la primera película, para mi los momentos que más brillaron fueron los musicales, terminan siendo muy buenos desde mi perspectiva, mi favorito es el primero, fue bastante iconico y lo disfrute bastante, otra cosa que tengo que resaltar fue como ejemplificaron la sociedad moderna con una iconica escena que te hace reir muchisímo.

   The fact that we had new teenage protagonists felt fresh, but to be honest as well as in the story, they are overshadowed by the Sanderson witches and I even feel they are quite forgettable. One character I really loved, was Gilbert, although a bit silly he ends up giving a different aspect to this plot and gives us a good duo with Billy, who returns in this installment explaining a little more of his old relationship with the Sanderson sisters.

   The staging of this film is very good, however, if you notice more Disney Channell style than the first film, for me the moments that shone the most were the musicals, they end up being very good from my perspective, my favorite is the first one, it was quite iconic and I enjoyed it a lot, another thing I have to highlight was how they exemplified modern society with an iconic scene that makes you laugh a lot.

   Ahora bien, disfrute Hocus Pocus y fue una linda película, incluso siento que hace honor a la primera entrega, desde mi punto de vista desde este Halloween será un clásico que veré junto con la primera pero debo reconocer que la verdadera esencia siempre la encontraremos en 1993 pero aplaudo el camino que Disney tomo para esta nueva película.

   La verdad Hocus Pocus para mi cierra completamente en esta película, sinceramente espero que no hagan otra secuela porque esta película fue aquello que los fans pediamos: una despedida increíble para una película que marco la historia; sinceramente el miedo de que se arruinará lo antes propuesto, no se cumplió y me da mucha felicidad esto, aunque personalmente mi corazón le pertenece a la primera.

   Now, I enjoyed Hocus Pocus and it was a nice movie, I even feel that it honors the first installment, from my point of view from this Halloween it will be a classic that I will see along with the first one but I must recognize that the true essence will always be found in 1993 but I applaud the path that Disney took for this new movie.

   The truth Hocus Pocus for me closes completely in this movie, I sincerely hope they don't make another sequel because this movie was what the fans asked for: an incredible farewell for a movie that marked the history; sincerely the fear that it will ruin what was proposed before, was not fulfilled and I am very happy about this, although personally my heart belongs to the first one.

   La verdad no recuerdo si de niño había visto la primera parte de esta película, pero hace como un año vi la primera parte porque es una de las peliculas favoritas de @lumpymoon y la verdad es que es una buena película. Era obvio que ahora que se estrenó esta segunda parte, mi novia también la iba a querer ver y junto a ella disfrute esta segunda parte.

   I don't really remember if I had seen the first part of this movie as a kid, but about a year ago I saw the first part because it is one of @lumpymoon's favorite movies and the truth is that it is a good movie. It was obvious that now that this second part was released, my girlfriend was also going to want to see it and together with her I enjoyed this second part.

   Disney está pasando por una etapa en que sus películas no estan sorprendiendo nada y pareciera que su intención es solo producir por producir, por lo que no me senta emocionado por esta segunda parte y pensaba de igual forma que mi novia se iba a decepcionar, la verdad es que me terminaron callando la boca.

   Disney is going through a stage in which their movies are not surprising anything and it seems that their intention is just to produce for the sake of producing, so I was not excited about this second part and I thought my girlfriend was going to be disappointed, the truth is that they ended up shutting my mouth.

   En primera, que para 28 años que han pasado desde el primer film estén las tres brujas representadas por las mismas actrices, al igual que el zombi amante que vuelve aparecer en la misma película.

   First, that for 28 years that have passed since the first film, the three witches are represented by the same actresses, as well as the zombie lover who reappears in the same film.

   

   Obviamente, la película no es la gran cosa, pero si eres fanático de la primera te va a encantar, pues de acuerdo podría parecer que la trama es la misma que la anterior y si lo es, pero de una forma en que la continuidad funciona que te terminas divirtiendo, en otras palabras puedes verte las dos peliculas al hilo y disfrutar de la primera en como tratan de entender el mundo moderno de 1993 (en la primera parte) y el mundo actual donde si lo vemos de esta forma la tecnología ha cambiado mucho más.

   Obviously, the movie is not a big deal, but if you are a fan of the first one you will love it, because it might seem that the plot is the same as the previous one and yes it is, but in a way that the continuity works and you end up having fun, in other words you can watch the two movies together and enjoy the first one in how they try to understand the modern world of 1993 (in the first part) and the current world where if we see it this way technology has changed much more.

   Durante toda la película estuve sacando buenas carcajadas, pues las brujas Sanderson saben hacerte reír en cada una de sus ocurrencias, tanto en los puntos villanescos como en su entender del mundo moderno y darme tristeza en el momento del final que para mi gusto cerro de buena forma y dando un final como debe de ser, que tal vez te termine dando algo de nostalgia.

   Throughout the film I was getting good laughs, because the Sanderson witches know how to make you laugh in each of their occurrences, both in the villainous points as in their understanding of the modern world and give me sadness at the time of the end that for my taste closed in a good way and giving an ending as it should be, which may end up giving you some nostalgia.

   Las brujas Sanderson brillan en todo momento, al contrario de los protagonistas, que si no fuera por el argumento de la trama y que de alguna forma tienen que detener al trío de brujas, realmente no brillan más que en el momento final, incluso los personajes secundarios terminan siendo mas graciosos y relevantes que las propias protagonistas que en algunos momentos terminan rayando en el cliché de nuestra modernidad.

   Sanderson witches shine at every turn, unlike the main characters, who if it were not for the plot and that somehow they have to stop the trio of witches, really do not shine more than in the final moment, even the secondary characters end up being funnier and more relevant than the protagonists themselves that in some moments end up bordering on the cliché of our modernity.

   Sin duda Hocus Pocus 2 se volverá una película que vas a querer ver en épocas de Halloween cuando quieres pasar las risas y divertirte un rato, algo que ver de forma familiar

   Hello friends, welcome to my blog, this weekend was a family movie with my nephews and one of the movies we saw was Hocus Pocus 2, I really wanted to see it because I saw the first part many years ago and I loved it, I wanted my nephews felt the same emotion of seeing the Sanderson sisters, in their hilarious antics. Without spoiling for those who have not seen it yet, I will only give my impressions and those of my children when they see the film. This film was directed by Anne Fletcher and starred the original cast of the first: Bette Midler, Kathy Najimi and Sara Jessica Parker.

   I think bringing the original cast together for this sequel was a great move, because sometimes in sequels they cast new actors for the roles. The chemistry and the performances of these three women playing these roles is extraordinary, you really think they are sisters because despite their differences and fights they always support each other. For those of us who have sisters, they remind us of our childhood and adulthood in which, despite all the fights, differences, the affection and love that we feel prevails. The film does not have a large budget for its development, so we will not see great special effects in this film, but great performances and hilarious dialogues between the Sanderson sisters.

   Pienso que reunir el elenco originar para esta secuela fue un gran acierto, porque a veces en las secuelas colocan nuevos actores para los papeles.    One of the things that my nieces loved is that the film begins with three inseparable friends at school, the film emphasizes the importance of being united as sisters, they are all interested in the stories of their town, Salem and its witches. They have read that to be powerful sorceresses lies in having a strong coven. The friendship and union of the girls will be tested throughout the film, but the powerful message is that there is strength in union. I must say that despite the fact that the story does not bring surprises and is not as good in my opinion as its predecessor, to be a sequel and for those who never saw the first one, it is a fun film, with moments of drama, but it has a nice message.

   To conclude, the movie Hocus Pocus 2 is not a work of art, but a film to spend with the family and enjoy the occurrences of the Sanderson sisters, laugh and have a good time. It's a long way from making it memorable and wanting to watch again and again, but it's got nostalgia for those who watched it and is entertaining for new audiences. If I had to rate it I would give it an 8/10.

   Okay, I know I said that I was not going to watch Hocus Pocus 2 in the Hocus Pocus review I wrote the other day, I know I said you should avoid it too. However I watched the film with someone that was rather curious as to how terrible it may be, and I caved in and agreed to watch it with them. However, having seen Hocus Pocus 2 on Disney+, I still stand by my prior statement: you should not watch this film if you have seen the first film. While the film could have been far worse, it ultimately offers nothing, and suffers from the usual reboot and franchise sequel that we have grown to despise from Hollywood over the last decade.

   Hocus Pocus 2 is a film that aims to pull on your nostalgia of the first film, whole shoehorning in the usual expected elements of a modern Hollywood big franchise film that results in the original creation getting little respect, being pulled from the grave much like the witches of the first film, forced into existence purely by name as the near two hour film attempts to justify that existence. The result is something not worthy of your time, and certainly very forgettable and riddled with issues. I found myself noticing the film's many issues, noticing how it copied the same structure as the first film in attempt to remind you of the first.

   You won't be missing out by not watching this film, but still, I will attempt to avoid writing major spoilers, but some may still appear going forward from this point on.

   Hocus Pocus 2

   

   Immediately I was thrown into a narrative that was painfully obvious. One that I managed to guess within the first 5 minutes of the film, and for the duration of it from that point on I was hoping the film would surprise and take a different direction; though Hocus Pocus 2 pertains to the familiar reboot bait of passing down the torch from one generation to the next in a sense, though with its own minor little bit expected twist that you will see coming miles away. Our protagonists are three teenage girls living within the town of Salem, the same location that our trio of witches once roamed in the first film. Though this film offers some slight exposition in the form of displaying the witches in their youth, the tale of how the three came together and rejected the status quo regarding witchcraft. The exposition that displays more context regarding the three witches wasn't a bad idea, I did enjoy that it took the direction of showing us more of their lives and giving them a more human connection despite their cruel witch ways.

   Though the film clings to this idea of portraying the three witches as some wholesome trio even though they're attempting to cause harm and destruction over the course of Halloween night. Pulled back into existence by a fan of the witches that tricks some teenagers into lighting a candle that again revives them. These teenagers thus spending a portion of the night tricking the witches into believing they are not children, and introducing them into the modern world. Similar to the first film in the same regard that the witches slowly discover modern life, but not to the point where it takes up a large amount of time. In Hocus Pocus 2, it clings to this idea for quite some time. Somewhat holding some laughs. Truthfully, the comedic moments are far from the film's weakness. These are some quite well and sparingly without feeling unfunny or too forced as one might expect. Especially with the possibility of pop culture references and moments that will certainly become dated and irrelevant within a few years; that doesn't feel like it is the case so much here.

   The biggest problem comes from it's just lazy narrative and characters. Of which are teenage girls but void of any personality. We don't really see any context behind them, unlike the first film which does introduce us to our main character which is a new family to the area, one that is struggling to settle in and finds themselves caught up in in something far greater than they could've ever imagined. Instead we don't really get any information on the characters and there's nothing to really care for. The moments with the main characters in just felt empty, very bland and forced in a manner that seemed like typical Disney and their poor casting. This fell into the narrative too as the film mentioned certain characters and slight backstory that was meant to serve as context but felt more like an attempt at story structure to set something up later on; to which there were attempts but again, fell very flat and ultimately were not anything to care for.

   As the film progresses things seemingly just happen, slowly falling in line somehow despite nobody really doing anything. There are no high tensions or moments to care for. We get the same references and moments that are copied from the first film which takes up some of the screen time, of course done with less soul and cheaper production quality. Backgrounds that were clearly a set in a warehouse and lit far too bright, moons that seemed far too big with no directional lighting sense. This location becoming used more and more throughout the film out of what seemed like laziness after the film had exhausted its ideas and copied moments from the first. This is not just a result of poor casting and poor writing. The film just didn't really need a reason to exist, and it does exist by force, as the film insists on throwing in modern political issues.

   Your typical sequel reboot

   

   Disney loves to reboot and create sequels these days. They love to take loved creations and use their names to turn them into zombies in attempt to produce new Disney+ subscribers all while maintaining an ESG score that makes greedy investors happy. Hocus Pocus was yet another one of those creations. Where everything is thrown into a modern look with a modern more supposedly ethical casting, even if none of it really works.

   It's incredibly forgettable and pertains to the typical structure of a disappointing blockbuster. An idea of passing down the torch to a younger generation while offering nothing all that spectacular in terms of visuals. Bland directing and cinematography, a weak story that doesn't really go anywhere, and just not worth your time given the runtime it holds. Perhaps a decent flick to throw on over Halloween and not pay attention to with your family perhaps, but if you are to go into it: don't expect a whole lot of entertainment and substance.

   Though I can admit that the film was absolutely carried by its original cast which made a return for the film. The moments with them are the most enjoyable, and feel still rather authentic to their characters even going into their older ages. I did enjoy how they portrayed themselves; slightly different and more mature in how they acted, but still managing to pull off the general characteristics we saw from them in their original performances. Everyone else in it was disappointing.

   Tantas secuelas, remakes y reboots, que han salido últimamente que te hacen preguntarte, si realmente son necesarios o solamente tienen un fin comercial, la realidad es que muchas son solo con fines comerciales, y obviamente esta secuela quiere aprovecharse de la nostalgia de la primera pelicula, pero en esta ocasión pasa algo curioso y es que respetan el material de origen a la par de que nos presentan algo nuevo y fresco, dando la oportunidad de que nuevas audiencias conozcan a estas tres brujas, no es mejor que original y es que tampoco busca serlo, solo quiero presentarnos una nueva historia que deje satisfechos a todos.

   Pero como muchas de estas secuelas tiene grandes problemas y es que los nuevos protagonistas que se encargan de lucha contra las brujas carecen de carismas, al punto que las villanas y nuevo villano por así decirlo se lleva toda la atención, no es que estén mal solo que no destacan mucho, y se nota las ganas de disney a sacar una tercera parte o posible serie, pero al inicio de la pelicula hay una secuencias que nos muestra a las hermanas, sus orígenes y como empezaron a ser brujas, yo creo que este camino hubiera sido el indicado a seguir para una próxima entrega, la pelicula tiene un humor muy bueno y tiene cosas increíblemente positivas, solo que se queda a la sombra de su primera entrega la cual ya de por si es una pelicula de culto, creo que hubiera sido incluso mas positivo que con un ligero retoque de guion esta secuela hubiera podido salir al cine sin ningún problema.

   En conclusión es una buena secuela mas no supera a la original, creo que vale la pena verla para que nuevos espectadores la conozca y para que los mas nostálgicos se sientan felices de ver de nuevos a estas brujas tan simpáticas, creo que pudo ser mejor eso si, creo que con un guion un poco mejor puedo ser una propuesta mas interesante para todos, eso si en el final de la pelicula hay guiños a que pronto vendrá una continuación a esta historia.

   Hello, today I bring you, I don't know if it's a Review or just my opinion as a fan.

   To begin with, I would like to say that this is one of the movies from my childhood that I liked the most and that I was used to seeing on Halloween, so it became one of my favorites. When I was little, I thought it was a very well done, and that's how it was because it was for a children's audience, today I'm an adult and my first impression when I found out that there would be a second film was joy, memories immediately traveled to my mind.

   Before seeing the film I had no expectations, I only had in mind how I remembered the first one, to be honest I did not imagine improvements in the characters, I did not imagine big changes, I did not imagine anything, I just wanted to enjoy what one day It made me enjoy my childhood.

   When I saw the film I was surprised because it was as I remembered it, I liked the characters, for me it was incredible that they remained the same, the setting of the film also had the same style despite the fact that in this version they have already passed many years, the introduction of new characters seemed nice.

   I believe that this second part was not made for today's children, but for today's adults who at that time saw that first film, adults like me who were very excited to remember good times, remember one of our classics and see that although times have advanced, the respect for that classic remained intact.

   It is a very simple plot, without many special effects, many may not like it and it is not for today's public, it is a fairly innocent plot, the end of this plot is emotional, when you think you are going to bother with a character but you could never do it because you know it really wasn't her nature, the closure felt quite right for the characters, I couldn't help but get sentimental about the book.

   I don't have any bad reviews to give this movie, in fact this movie was what introduced me to Halloween, costumes and the world of witches, since then I've seen more movies with witch characters but all staying sane, within the mystical and fiction, well friends, that's how I conclude this post, in the end it was just my own comments on a movie that woke up my childhood.

   Para empezar quiero decir que esta es una de las películas de mi infancia que más me gustaron y que estaba acostumbrada a ver en Halloween, por lo que se convirtió en una de mis favoritas, cuando era pequeña a mí me parecía que era una película muy bien hecha, y así fue porque era para un público infantil, hoy ya soy una adulta y mi primera impresión al saber que habría una segunda película fue de alegría, inmediatamente los recuerdos viajaron a mi mente.

   Antes de ver la película no tenía ninguna expectativa, solo tenía en mente como recordaba a la primera, para ser honesta no me imaginaba mejoras en los personajes, no me imaginaba grandes cambios, no me imaginaba nada, solo quería disfrutar de lo que un día me hizo disfrutar mi infancia.

   Al ver la película me llevé una sorpresa porque era como la recordaba, me gustaron los personajes para mí fue increíble que se mantuvieran de la misma forma, la ambientación de la película también tenía el mismo estilo a pesar de que en esta versión ya han pasado muchísimos años, la introducción de nuevos personajes me pareció agradable.

   Yo creo que esta segunda parte no fue hecha para los niños de hoy en día, sino para los adultos de ahora que en aquel momento vimos esa primera película, los adultos como yo que nos hizo muchísima ilusión recordar buenos tiempos, recordar uno de nuestros clásicos y ver qué aunque los tiempos han avanzado, el respeto por ese clásico se mantuvo intacto.

   Es una trama muy sencilla, sin muchos efectos especiales, puede que a muchos no les guste y es que no es para el público actual, es una trama bastante inocente, el final de esta trama es emotivo, cuando crees que vas a molestarte con un personaje pero nunca podrías hacerlo porque sabes que realmente no era su naturaleza, el cierre me pareció bastante adecuado para los personajes, no pude evitar ponerme sentimental con el libro.

   No tengo ninguna mala crítica para dar a esta película, de hecho, esta película fue lo que me introdujo al Halloween, a los disfraces y al mundo de las brujas, desde entonces vi más películas con personajes de brujas pero todo manteniéndose sano, dentro de lo místico y la ficción, bueno amigos, así concluyo con este post, al final solo fueron mis propios comentarios de una película que despertó mi infancia.

    Abracadabra, se convirtió en un clásico para toda una generación. Lo hizo con pésimas críticas y siendo estrenada, a principios de 1993, en una época distinta a la celebración del Halloween. Evidentemente, esto último repercutió enormemente en la taquilla, siendo considerada un fracaso desde su estreno. Sin embargo, las repeticiones y los DVD's, la hicieron una película bastante rentable, lo que dio un par de buenas razones a Disney para realizarle una secuela casi 3 décadas después.

    Cuando lo anunciaron, yo no me lo podía creer. He sido un fanático empedernido de esta película por años, sobre todo del trabajo de la gran Bette Midler. La reunión de las brujas más malvadas del séptimo arte, tenía que ser algo digno, apoteósico y con una historia que, de alguna forma, diera continuidad a la magia de la primera entrega. Imaginaba a otro actor, otro Max Dennison (Omri Katz), (mi primer crush en la vida) dando vida a otro personaje mítico.

    Me imaginaba el regreso de la eternidad de Thackery Binx (Sean Murray) o una historia de hermanos como la primera entrega. La realidad, es que me he quedado bastante insatisfecho y no solo porque no hay una historia vinculante con el pasado (me refiero a 1993), sino por el cambio radical de todo el argumento. Y lo sé, yo también esperaba que la historia se adaptara a estos nuevos tiempos (no esperaba a un protagonista blanco), no me molesta para nada la inclusión de personajes diversos.

    Lo que, si llega a molestarme, es que dañen de alguna manera el trabajo original. Aunque las 3 brujas estaban igual de majestuosas, las sigo amando y fueron otra vez el eje principal del argumento, me hicieron falta más elementos dentro de la historia. Yo quería ver magia y todo ocurre tan rápido que cuando quise darme cuenta estaba aburrido, con 3 protagonistas femeninas (jóvenes) aburridas y sin un gramo de carisma.

Evidently, the latter had a huge impact on the box office, being considered a failure since its release. However, the reruns and DVD's, made it quite a profitable movie, which gave Disney a couple of good reasons to make a sequel almost 3 decades later.

    When it was announced, I couldn't believe it. I've been a die-hard fan of this movie for years, especially the work of the great Bette Midler. The reunion of the most evil witches of the seventh art, had to be something worthy, apotheosic and with a story that, somehow, gave continuity to the magic of the first installment. I imagined another actor, another Max Dennison (Omri Katz), (my first crush in life) giving life to another mythical character.

    I imagined the return from eternity of Thackery Binx (Sean Murray) or a story of brothers like the first installment. The reality, is that I was quite unsatisfied and not only because there is no binding story with the past (I mean 1993), but because of the radical change of the whole plot. And I know, I also expected the story to adapt to these new times (I didn't expect a white protagonist), I don't mind at all the inclusion of diverse characters.

    What, if it comes to bother me, is that they somehow damage the original work. Although the 3 witches were just as majestic, I still love them and they were again the main focus of the plot, I found more elements missing within the story. I wanted to see magic and everything happens so fast that when I wanted to realize I was bored, with 3 (young) female protagonists boring and without an ounce of charisma.

    3 chicas, que en ningún momento sentí como heroínas. En la primera entrega, querías que Max salvara a su hermana de las garras de las brujas, en esta oportunidad, las brujas regresan buscando venganza en una familia que ni siquiera se nombra en la versión de 1993. Tampoco están buscando niños, sino convertirse en brujas superpoderosas como si eso fuera más importante que mantenerse jóvenes y vivas.

    Las protagonistas y sus historias, fueron tan sosas que sentí como relleno cada una de sus interacciones. Las 3 tenían una especie de vínculo, que nunca entendí. Demasiado políticamente correctas, (incluso para mí). Los personajes masculinos fueron retratados como tontos, cobardes y sin chiste. El papel del Billy Butcherson (Doug Jones) fue francamente desperdiciado. Todo mal con esta secuela. Todo mal con Disney, creo que no le han atinado últimamente; siendo objetivos no han sabido encontrar el equilibrio en sus contenidos.

    Y sé que es un momento difícil, porque por cualquier tontería quieren cancelar a las empresas, pero creo que es momento de replantearse su futuro como compañía. Yo no quería empatizar con las brujas, amo a cada una de ellas, lo que quería era ver a un trío de héroes derrotando a las hermanas malvadas y salvando a Salem de nuevo. Precisamente en ese punto, para mí, falla todo.

    Las hermanas Sanderson son tan buenas, que deseaba eliminar la presencia de todo el elenco y quedarme solamente con ellas. Quería que ganarán, quería que ellas se quedarán con Salem y creo que en eso falló cada línea del argumento. En lugar de que triunfará el bien, quería que triunfara el mal.     3 girls, who at no time felt like heroines. In the first installment, you wanted Max to save his sister from the clutches of the witches, this time, the witches are back seeking revenge on a family that is not even named in the 1993 version.     The main characters and their stories, were so bland that I felt like filler for each of their interactions. All 3 had some sort of bond, which I never understood. Too politically correct, (even for me). The male characters were portrayed as dumb, cowards and no joke. The role of the Billy Butcherson (Doug Jones) was frankly wasted. All wrong with this sequel. All wrong with Disney, I think they've missed the mark lately; being objective they haven't been able to find the balance in their content.

    And I know it's a difficult time, because for any nonsense they want to cancel companies, but I think it's time to rethink their future as a company. I didn't want to empathize with the witches, I love every single one of them, what I wanted was to see a trio of heroes defeating the evil sisters and saving Salem again. Precisely on that point, for me it fails all together.

    The Sanderson sisters are so good, I wanted to eliminate the presence of the entire cast and be left with just them. I wanted them to win, I wanted them to keep Salem and I think that's where the plot failed. Instead of good triumphing, I wanted evil to triumph. I didn't want to see 3 teenage girls, fighting over not having time to be friends. I wanted to relive the magic of Hocus Pocus.

    En lo que, si destaca la película, es en cuanto a los efectos especiales. En 1993, no existía tanta tecnología como ahora y lo hicieron bien en cuanto a estética. Solo eso y por supuesto, la parte musical también brilló, no tanto como en la versión de los noventa, pero creo que era de esperarse. También la recreación de las hermanas Sanderson de niñas, fue un gran acierto. Me atrevería a decir que de lo mejor de esta secuela.

    Todo lo demás, es olvidable. De hecho, voy a ver de nuevo la primera entrega para olvidar que vi esta pésima secuela. Lo único rescatable, fue escribir mi apreciación en esta mi querida comunidad. Todo lo demás, es olvidable, valga la redundancia.

    What the film does excel in is the special effects. In 1993, there wasn't as much technology as there is now and they did well in terms of aesthetics. Just that and of course, the musical part also shined, not as much as in the nineties version, but I think it was to be expected.     Hocus Pocus is one of those movies that occupies a very particular place in popular culture, we all know that it is not the best horror film that exists, but at the same time, we understand that it has never pretended to be. It's a pretty sweet Halloween adventure that over time has gained a well-deserved cult following, has a terrific cast, and knows how to entertain like no other.

    Talking about the possibility of creating a sequel didn't feel like sacrilege, but the need to continue the story of the Sanderson sisters, the witches who were freed on an unfortunate Halloween night in 1993, is always questionable.

    How will we approach this second part? Do we return to the story that had already concluded in a satisfactory way? Do we introduce new characters that continue the original spirit? Or do we just create a pointless parade that appeals to raw nostalgia?

    Ironically, any of these approaches would have been much better than what the real movie ended up showing, since Hocus Pocus 2 is so afraid of solidifying its own positions that it ends up feeling cowardly, unable to use all the potential at its disposal to present a decent work for one reason or another.

    This is unfortunate, especially considering how enjoyable it is to have iconic Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler, and Kathy Najimi reprise their roles as goofy, evil witches.

    Hocus Pocus 2 is a hodgepodge of ideas that do not land well, it starts off strong in a scene that seeks to delve into the genesis of their evil powers but later loses meaning within the plot, and when it reaches the present, fails to show us to a single new character with whom we can connect on any level: for better or for worse.

    Are we watching this movie because we miss the witches, or are we doing it because we're curious about what has happened to the town of Salem for almost 30 years? Whatever our intention is, rest assured that it will not be satisfied.

    They barely manage to mimic portions of the charm of the original, we appreciate the few but charismatic musical numbers, the chemistry between its supernatural protagonists, and the inclusion of the occasional cameo that the most passionate fans will appreciate.

    Everything else is nonsense, the special effects are shoddy, the pacing of the middle portion is terrible, and by the time the climax finally arrives, we no longer care about what happens to any of the characters.

    I could hardly call it entertaining, a forced sequel that fails to capture the uninhibited nature of the original, too busy trying not to hurt soft palates to tell a worthwhile story.

    Hocus Pocus es una de esas películas que ocupa un lugar muy particular en la cultura popular, todos sabemos que no es el mejor filme de terror que existe, pero al mismo tiempo, entendemos que nunca ha pretendido serlo. Se trata de una aventura de halloween bastante dulce que con el tiempo ha ganado un seguimiento de culto bien merecido, tiene un cast estupendo y sabe entretener como ninguna.

    Hablar da la posibilidad de crearle una secuela no llegaba a sentirse como un sacrilegio, pero siempre es cuestionable la necesidad de continuar la historia de las hermanas Sanderson, las brujas que fueron liberadas en una desafortunada noche de halloween de 1993.

    ¿Cómo abordaremos esta segunda parte? ¿Retomamos la historia que ya había concluido de forma satisfactoria? ¿Presentamos nuevos personajes que continúen con el espíritu original? ¿O simplemente creamos un desfile sin sentido que apele a la nostalgia bruta?

    Irónicamente, cualquiera de estos acercamientos hubiese sido mucho mejor que lo que terminó mostrando la verdadera película, puesto que Hocus Pocus 2 tiene tanto miedo en solidificar sus propias posturas, que termina sintiéndose cobarde, incapaz de aprovechar todo el potencial a su disposición para presentar una obra decente por una razón u otra.

    Esto es lamentable, especialmente si consideramos lo agradable que resulta la presencia de las icónicas Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler y Kathy Najimi repitiendo sus roles de brujas torpes y malvadas.

    Hocus Pocus 2 es una mezcolanza de ideas que no aterrizan bien, arranca con fuerza en una escena que busca ahondar en el génesis de sus poderes malvados pero que posteriormente va perdiendo el sentido dentro de la trama, y cuando llega al presente, no logra mostrarnos a un solo nuevo personaje con el que podamos conectar bajo ningún nivel: para bien o para mal.

    ¿Estamos viendo esta película porque extrañamos a las brujas, o lo hacemos porque sentimos curiosidad por saber que ha ocurrido con el pueblo de Salem durante casi 30 años? Cualquiera que sea nuestra pretención, tengan por seguro que no se verá satisfecha.

    A duras penas se logran mimicar porciones del encanto de la original, apreciamos los escasos pero carismáticos números musicales, la química entre sus protagonistas sobrenaturales, y la inclusión de uno que otro cameo que los fans más apasionados sabrán apreciar.

    Para todo lo demás es un desproposito, los efectos especiales son de mala calidad, el ritmo de la porción del medio es terrible, y al momento en que llega finalmente el climax, ya no nos importa que sucederá con ninguno de los personajes.

    Apenas podría tacharla de entretenida, una secuela forzada que no logra captar la naturaleza deshinibida de la original, demasiado ocupada tratando de no herir paladares blandos como para ponerse a narrar una historia que si valga la pena.

    Les mentiría feamente si les digo que esta pelicula ha sido mala, aun no he visto si tiene críticas negativas pero sin dudarlo han acertado al realizar esta producción, porque es muy genial de principio a fin, no necesitas ver la primera de forma obligatoria para entender el contexto de la segunda ya que al comenzar esta, te cuentan brevemente lo que sucedió con las hermanas Sanderson y para agregarle más interes al asunto nos muestran la historia atras de las terribles hermanas, lo cual nos hace entender un poco más que fue de sus vidas.

    Plot / Trama

Se descubre que Becca es una bruja por lo que tratan de enfrentar a las brujas las cuales a pesar de los esfuerzos de las 3 chicas logran recitar el conjuro Magicae Maxima pero por no haber leído la advertencia ignoraron que había que pagar un precio por lo que Winifred para convertirse en la bruja máxima tiene que perder a sus hermanas, las cuales luego del hechizo son convertidas en polvo. Winifred se arrepiente del hechizo y les ruega a las chicas que usen su magia para regresar a sus hermanas, pero al no poder traerlas de vuelta recitan un hechizo para reunir a Winifred con sus hermanas por lo que Winifred también se convierte en polvo feliz de reunirse con sus hermanas.

    

    Gilbert and Billy run to help defeat the sisters but are late, Billy begins to disappear thinking that the spell that Winifred put on him has expired and now he can rest in peace. The girls decide to keep the spell book and continue to practice magic, so when they walk out of the forbidden forest, a bird similar to that of the Witch Mother appears flying behind them. In a scene in the middle of the credits, Gilbert's black cat appears and jumps on a shelf where there is another black flame candle, thus implying that the Sanderson Sisters can be summoned again.

    Gilbert y Billy corren a ayudar a vencer a las hermanas pero llegan tarde, Billy comienza a desaparecer pensando que el hechizo que Winifred puso sobre él caducó y ahora el podrá descansar en paz. Las chicas deciden quedarse con el libro de hechizos y continúan practicando la magia por lo que cuando caminan para salir del bosque prohibido aparece un ave similar al de la Madre Bruja volando tras ellas. En una escena a mitad de los créditos aparece el gato negro de Gilbert el cual salta en un estante donde hay otra vela de llama negra por lo que se da a entender que las Hermanas Sanderson pueden ser invocadas de nuevo.

    

    My Opinion / Mi Opinión

    Well, personally, when they announced it, it caught my attention because I really liked the first part, which was released in 1993, and I was surprised that a sequel came out 29 years later. I really liked that the original actresses Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy are back since in my opinion I don't think anyone else could play them like them, another character that returns is Billy Butcherson as a zombie which is also played by the original actor Doug Jones, new characters are also included such as the 3 teenagers Becca, Izzy and Cassie, Mayor Jefry Traske, Gilbert who is the owner of the magic shop which is located in the old witches cabin among some others, In my opinion, I liked that they created a new coven made up of the 3 teenagers and that they kept the book since I felt that somehow it was being created as a succession of witches. In general terms the new characters were well developed and the returning ones were even better.

    Bueno, en lo personal cuando la anunciaron me llamó mucho la atención ya que me gustó mucho la primera parte la cual fué estrenada en 1993, y me sorprendió que saliera una secuela 29 años después. Me gustó mucho que las actrices originales Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimy estén de vuelta ya que en mi opinión no creo que alguien más pudiese interpretarlas como ellas, otro personaje que regresa es el de Billy Butcherson como zombie el cual también es interpretado por el actor original Doug Jones, también se incluyen nuevos personajescomo las 3 adolescentes Becca, Izzy y Cassie, el alcalde Jefry Traske, Gilbert el cual es el dueño de la tienda mágica la cual está ubicada en laantigua cabaña de las brujas entre algunos otros, en mi opinión me gustó que hayan creado un nuevo aquelarre formado por las 3 adolescentes y que se hayan quedado con el libro ya que sentí que de alguna manera se estaba creando como una sucesión de brujas. En terminos generales los nuevos personajes estuvieron bien desarrollados y los que regresan, estuvieron aún mejor.

    

    The photography is excellent, it has a color palette which works perfectly with the theme of the film and the environments created for the film in my opinion are great, I really liked the forbidden forest and the magic shop. Something that I want to emphasize is the great job they did with makeup and costumes to create again the image of the Anderson Sisters and the Zombie Billy Butcherson, which surprised me a lot because they look exactly the same as the first movie, it seems as if they had been frozen in time since both parts of the movie are 29 years apart. My favorite characters are obviously the three witches since they give a great touch to the movie, I find them very funny and creepy at the same time as well as the zombie, in my opinion they are iconic characters from the movie so thank goodness they didn't remove or replaced some of them.

    La fotografía es excelente, tiene una paleta de colores la cual funciona a la perfección con la temática de la película y los ambientes creados para la película en mi opinión son grandiosos, me gustaron mucho el bosque prohibido y la tienda de magía. Algo que quiero recalcar es el grandioso trabajo que hicieron de maquillaje y vestuario para crear nuevamente la imagen de las Hermanas Anderson y el Zombie Billy Butcherson los cuales me sorprendieron mucho porque se ven exactamente iguales a la primera pelicula, pareciera como que si hubiesen estado congelados en el tiempo ya que ambas partes de la pelicula tienen 29 años de diferencia. Mis personajes favoritos obviamente son las tres brujas ya que le dan un gran toque a la pelicula, me parecen muy graciosas y escalofriantes a la vez así como el zombie, en mi opinión son personajes icónicos de la pelicula por lo que menos mal no quitaron o reemplazaron a alguno de ellos.

    In general the story is entertaining and although it is classified as a horror movie it has a great touch of comedy so I enjoyed it a lot, I laughed with several parts like the one in which the teenagers trick the witches into believing that if they drink creams age get younger, also with the costume contest in which the contestants are dressed as the Sanderson Sisters and when the real sisters participate they lose, and where they are locked in a circle of salt in the garage of the house of the mayor. They also recreated the flight scene where Winifred flies on a broom, Sarah on a vacuum cleaner and this time Mary instead of flying on a mop, she does it with 2 round vacuum cleaners. I admit that although it is not the best movie of the year, it is quite entertaining to pass the time and a good sequel.

    En general la historia es entretenida y aunque es catalogada como una una película de terror tiene un gran toque de comedia por lo que la disfruté mucho, me reí con varias partes como en la que las adolescentes engañan a las brujas haciendoles creer que si beben cremas antiedad se hacen más jóvenes, también con la del concurso de disfraces en el cual los consursantes están disfrazados como las Hermanas Sanderson y cuando las verdaderas hermanas participan pierden, y en dónde ellas son encerradas en un circulo de sal en el garage de la casa del alcalde. También recrearon la escena de vuelo en la que Winifred vuela en una escoba, Sarah en una aspiradora y esta vez Mary en vez de volar sobre una mopa, lo hace con 2 aspiradoras redondas. Reconozco que aunque no es la mejor pelicula del año, es bstante entretenida para pasar el rato y una buena secuela.

    

    The soundtrack of the movie is something that I also liked a lot, not only do they include a song co-written by Elton John who is one of my favorite singers, but they also include songs like "Skeleton Sam" sung by the group LVCRFT which I had heard a very similar before in Sabrina's Chilling Adventures series called "Straight to Hell", a cover of "One Way Or Another" originally by Blondie but with the lyrics changed for the movie and performed by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy among other. Another thing that I like about both films is the songs and choreography, so I really liked the musical scenes as well.

    El soundtrack de la pelicula es algo que también me gustó mucho, no solamente incluyen una canción coescrita por Elton John el cual es uno de mis cantantes favoritos sino que también incluyen canciones como "Skeleton Sam" cantada por el grupo LVCRFT la cual había escuchado una muy parecida antes en la serie de Chilling Adventures de Sabrina llamada "Straight to Hell", un cover de "One Way Or Another" originalmente de Blondie pero con la letra cambiada para la pelicula e interpretada por Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker y Kathy Najimy entre otras. Otra cosa que me gusta de ambas peliculas son las canciones y coreografías por lo que las escenas musicales me gustaron mucho también.

    Finally, I would say that in general terms the movie seemed entertaining. Although it is a sequel released 29 years after the original film I think it is a good continuation, normally sequels are almost never as good as the first one and although I admit that this one is not as good as the first one either, it is let slip by what I would like to recommend it to all those who have not yet seen it, personally it left me with a good taste in my mouth.

    Para finalizar, diría que en términos generales la pelicula me pareció entretenida. Aunque es una secuela estrenada 29 años después de la pelicula original pienso que es una buena continuación, normalmente las secuelas casi nunca son tan buenas como la primera y aunque admito que esta no es tan buena como la primera tampoco, se deja colar por lo que me gustaría recomendarla a todos los que todavía no la hayan visto, a mi personalmente me dejó con un buen sabor de boca.

This sequel was directed by Anne Fletcher and has a cast that gives a lot of nostalgia due to the return of Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Jacqueline Bisset.

    Desde niña he sido muy fans de Abracadabra, era la única película que me gustaba ver en estas épocas de dulce o truco y me emocionaba mucho cada que le veía pasar por la TV, Cuando supe que las hermanas sanderson regresarían en una secuela volví a ser esa niña emocionada por ver una de sus películas favoritas y sinceramente quede muy satisfecha con esta segunda parte.

    Since I was a little girl I have been a big fan of Hocus Pocus , it was the only movie I liked to watch in these trick or treat times and I was very excited every time I saw it on TV. When I found out that the Sanderson sisters would return in a sequel I went back to being that little girl excited to see one of her favorite movies and honestly I was very satisfied with this sequel.

    En esta secuela las hermanas regresan con sed de venganza y con muchas ganas de quedarse definitivamente en Salem, es una trama fresca que se adapta a la actualidad, pero que no es tan fuerte y tan intensa como la primera película. Siento que le falto algo para ser mucho mejor que la primera parte, se quedó algo corta en cuanto a la historia, pero, sin embargo, es una buena secuela y valió totalmente la espera. La banda sonora una vez más es increíble y que hicieran un número musical similar a la parte donde interpretan I Put a Spell on You en la primera película fue un guiño que te hizo volver al pasado, además de que no te dejan olvidar lo que sucedió en la primera película, constantemente te van soltando cosas que te va recordando la historia de la primera trama y a los personajes que lamentablemente no están presente en esta secuela.

    In this sequel the sisters return with a thirst for revenge and with a lot of desire to stay permanently in Salem, it is a fresh plot that adapts to the present time, but it is not as strong and as intense as the first film. I feel that it lacked something to be much better than the first part, it fell a little short in terms of story, but, nevertheless, it is a good sequel and it was totally worth the wait. The soundtrack once again is amazing and the fact that they did a musical number similar to the part where they play I Put a Spell on You in the first movie was a wink that made you go back to the past, plus they don't let you forget what happened in the first movie, they constantly let you know things that remind you of the story of the first plot and the characters that unfortunately are not present in this sequel.

    Una de las cosas que me encanto de la película es que muestran parte de lo que fue la vida de las hermanas sanderson antes de ser brujas, Abracadabra 2 te hace ver un lado diferente de estas brujas y el cómo el amor es mucho más fuerte que ser poderosas. Esta secuela no pierde el toque de humor que enamoro a los fans a lo largo de 29 años, te hace pasar un buen rato y soltar algunas risas debido a lo cómicas que suelen ser Winifred, Sarah y Mary.

    One of the things I loved about the movie is that it shows part of what life was like for the Sanderson sisters before they became witches, Hocus Pocus 2 makes you see a different side of these witches and how love is much stronger than being powerful. This sequel does not lose the touch of humor that enchanted fans throughout 29 years, it makes you have a good time and let out a few laughs because of how funny Winifred, Sarah and Mary tend to be.

    Los personajes nuevos son muy buenos, las pequeñas actrices que dan vida a las hermanas sanderson de niñas realizan una actuación increíble y te transmiten la misma energía de los personajes ya adultos; en esta secuela aparte de los personajes originales te presentan a tres amigas que extrañamente te hacen recordar a las sanderson. Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) y Cassie (Lilia Buckingham) son personajes muy interesantes, tiene una buena conexion que hace que las interpretaciones se vean naturales y terminan gustando mucho,el personaje que menos me gusto fue el de Mike (Froy Gutiérrez) se me hizo super cansón y poco interesante.

    The new characters are very good, the little actresses that give life to the Sanderson sisters as children give an incredible performance and transmit the same energy of the adult characters; in this sequel apart from the original characters you are introduced to three friends that strangely remind you of the Sandersons. Becca (Whitney Peak), Izzy (Belissa Escobedo) and Cassie (Lilia Buckingham) are very interesting characters, they have a good connection that makes the interpretations look natural and end up liking them a lot, the character I liked the least was Mike (Froy Gutierrez) I found him very tiresome and uninteresting.

    Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) y Mary (Jacqueline Bisset) vuelven mucho más fuerte y con una energía única que te hechiza desde el primer momento en que hacen su maravillosa aparición en la película, las actrices hicieron una vez más una actuación increíble y se nota la conexión que las 3 siguen teniendo, se sintió como si realmente no hubiera pasado 29 años y fue sumamente nostálgico verlas una vez más juntas.

    Winifred (Bette Midler), Sarah (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mary (Jacqueline Bisset) come back much stronger and with a unique energy that enchants you from the first moment they make their wonderful appearance in the movie, the actresses once again gave an incredible performance and you can feel the connection the 3 of them still have, it felt like it really hasn't been 29 years and it was extremely nostalgic to see them once again together.

    En Conclusión, Abracadabra 2 es una secuela llena de nostalgia que te va a hacer pasar momentos increíbles, es una película que vale la pena verse una y otra vez; no aburre, es muy divertida y tiene sus momentos tensos y llenos de seriedad que le dan un toque especial. La recomiendo con los ojos cerrados y si eres un gran fan de la primera parte, te aseguro que esta secuela no te decepcionara y te dejara encantado; algo importante que tengo que destacar es que es necesario que se queden durante los créditos y despues de los créditos, ya que tienen 2 escenas que te dejaran pensativo. Mi Puntuación Final es dé.

    In conclusion, Hocus Pocus 2 is a sequel full of nostalgia that will make you spend incredible moments, it is a movie worth watching again and again; it is not boring, it is very funny and has its tense moments and full of seriousness that give it a special touch. I recommend it with my eyes closed and if you are a big fan of the first part, I assure you that this sequel will not disappoint you and will leave you enchanted; something important that I have to highlight is that you need to stay during the credits and after the credits, as they have 2 scenes that will leave you thoughtful.My Final Score Is.
